i thought it would be nice to share two projects i made in art class this semester!
title: angel of change
this one's a fun collage/sculpture about the positive and negative changes one can go through when starting college! featuring a nervous little peg person on the road, a surge of waves, and a biblically accurate pet rock angel smoking a cigarette
title: wing surfaces of morpho didius
and this is a sculpture of a morpho butterfly! with its ventral wing surfaces (the visible side of the wings) painted realistically, and with its dorsal wing surfaces (the hidden side of the wings) covered with messily-colored butterfly coloring book pages. the idea here is that my fascination with butterflies, despite being very scientific now, is still one imbued with naïveté, playfulness, and childlike wonder :)
#dandy's doodles#<- i keep changing my art tag. i might want to change it again. because not all of my art is drawings :'D#sculpture#collage#butterfly#i guess those are all the tags i need?? i don't really care. this is really for my followers/mutuals anyway <3#the butterfly sculpture was so annoying to make...#it's cardboard + wire + hot glue + paper mache + tempera paint + tacky glue + printer paper + oil pastels. augh#the worst part was that the paper mache (cuz it was wet) was disintegrating the cardboard base as i was putting it on#which meant one of the wings fell off and i had to reattach it#but then it dried with the wings too closed#i ended up working with it but ideally the inside of the wings would be more easily visible. oh well#i really like how both of these turned out :) though i have no clue what i'll do with them#they're still in the art room right now. but i'm dorming (no space) and my house is a cluttered mess (no space)#i honestly wouldn't mind leaving them there if i'm allowed to but ideally i'd take them... hm.......

headcannon michael was a tinkerer in general, but more so understress (hence Helpy, PanManStan, #1 Crate, Mr.Hugs, ect) so whenever Glamfreddy's circuts are a bit overworked he'll go to his greenroom and just start building stuff lol

ok at first i was gonna raid the party city thats closing for some of those cheapy cheap 80s fishnet glove things but my mom gave me her fishnets for halloween that she never wore and lads diy is so back
#using it for the vol 3 zine#still need to get. my stapler#and i have saved enough neow to get a nice little storage unit for my things#part for spare cloth part for markers and pencils and part for just gliter and stones#i may also need something. for paper mache stuff. like glue bottles and paper and big wet slimey things#but that will be next check

Okay I've glued the sketchbook's binding back on. The spine is nearly ripped through on one side, that's probably a job for gaff tape
#it occurs to me now i probably could have done that while doing the glue whoops#while I'm at it I'm going to find out if i can flatten the wet buckled pages back out#i dont have a book press but I've got a couple boards and a bench vice#i guess I'll find out firsthand if its close enough#the kind of contact cement they use to glue shoe soles back on is probably overkill but its what i have and its probably good with some flex

"Wha- " He tried to pull it off with his hands, only pulling on himself instead with a slight hiss. His wingfeathers rustled behind him, repeatedly trying to pull it off before he realized the thin, translucent look of glue.
He glared at it, figuring if he cant just pull it off, hot water might do the trick instead. He'd just shower until the water melted it off of him.

Gabe's story is so sad to me and I think he needs a moment of peace wrapped in a warm blanket with some freshly brewed tea and maybe a nap, but also his story is so good and hopeful that I need to beat him to death with a baseball bat.
