Took my ma and Sachiko-san strawberry picking today. We went to Westham Herb Island Farm in Ladner, next to Emma Lea, as the website said their U-Pick is only on Saturdays. When we checked that farm out afterward, we found it swarming with people picking their own strawberries. My mom and Sachiko-san said they would like to go to Emma Lea next year. But secretly, I was glad we went to the more underrated farm; there were fewer people and it did not seem as commercialized. Nevertheless, we picked lots of strawberries. My mom was set on making jam so I gave her my 9lb batch. On our drive home, we picked up a bunch of farm fresh eggs!
