Do you mean the westallen secret santa? If so, I'm sorry to say I won't be doing a westallen secret santa this year. Thank you so much for your interest, and if you participated before or read/enjoyed some of the art, thank you so much!

That said, I know there is at least one westallen secret santa being held at the moment by someone else, on twitter. I'm not too sure about the details of this event, but I'll link below if you're interested. I think it's only for fan fiction, and I think sign-ups are due by Oct 8.

Barry and Iris were excited about having Christmas outside of Central City.

It was their first Christmas with their kids, Don Allen and Nora Allen.

Well, actually, their little babies.

They were spending Christmas at a cabin just outside of Central City with Joe, Cecile, Wally, Jenna, and Joanie.

Iris was hesitant to the idea of spending Christmas in a cabin because she had seen too many horror movies.

Nevertheless, she was looking forward to the Christmas trip outside of town. Barry told her not to worry.

“I have seen too many horror movies, Bear. It never ends well when people go to a cabin. No way.”

“Iris, don’t worry. The trip is going to be nice. We’re all going to have fun!”

They arrived at the cabin and the room was decorated with Christmas decorations and a beautiful, green Christmas tree with red lights and red bulbs with wrapped present boxes underneath the tree.

The present boxes didn’t have anything in them. They were just put there for decoration. Everyone was a little bummed out. They thought they were receiving nice welcoming gifts from the employees of the cabin.

The West-Allen Horton family wanted private family time for Christmas.

Cisco was spending time with family for Christmas. Caitlin was spending time with her father and mother. Caitlin and her family would have a lot of conversations and catching up to do. They needed to be alone. Ralph recently started dating someone by the name of Susan Dearbon. He was spending time with her. The relationship was starting to get serious because Susan was taking Ralph to see her family for Christmas. Ralph would tell the others how everything went after the holiday was over. Sherloque was with a Christmas fling. Yeah, enough said there. XD :)

Joanie was almost done with her book on feminism and condemning the male gaze. She was just in the final editing process. Her publishers and editors were looking over everything. She also recently found out that Wally was Kid Flash. Wally was telling Joanie all about the adventures he’s had recently as a Legend.

She’s tried to make several moves on Wally, but Wally finally told her that he was seeing someone else.

Linda Park.

Linda couldn’t come to the cabin and Wally and Iris were bummed out about that, but she had a family emergency.

Linda and Wally Facetimed every day during the Christmas holidays, though.

Bummed out, Joanie looked on Tinder. ;)

There was lots of beautiful snow outside. Everyone was going to go outside and make snow men and women and snow angels later. Barry got everyone Hot Cocoa for drinking pleasure and to warm themselves up.

Nora and Don already got some Christmas gifts from both of their parents. They’ll get more later. Barry and Iris loved spoiling their kids. Nora and Don both received a stuffed animal. They each got a Teddy Bear.

It was going to be a magical Christmas because everyone was going to watch the Harry Potter movies. Draco’s actor, Tom Felton, looked just liked their friend, Julian Albert. ;) Julian went back to London after Barry sacrificed himself to the Speed Force. Though, Julian and Caitlin still keep in touch. Everyone is going to call Julian later and wish him a Merry Christmas and see how he’s doing.

It was the evening and everyone was back inside from playing in the snow and eating lunch. The adults had Big Belly Burger. The kids had baby food.

Everyone had a nice dinner and it was time to open and give presents and Barry and Iris were sitting on the sofa. Iris pulled out a mistletoe and put it up over her and Barry.

“It’s not Christmas for couples without a mistletoe kiss”, Iris said.

Barry chuckled and gave her a hard, but sweet kiss on her lips. He literally smashed his face against hers. Barry held her face in his hands.

They got up off of the sofa to go where the others were. Presents were about to be opened.

As they got up, Barry saw a reindeer outside of the window in the snowy evening.

He smiled to himself.

It was a beautiful reindeer, but it didn’t have a red nose.

They were no Rudolph. ;)

Hi everyone!

The Westallen gift exchange is back!

During this event you get the chance to exchange an online westallen present with someone else. You make something for someone and someone makes something for you. This could be fanfic, gifs, edits, drawings, playlists etc. As long as it’s about WestAllen!

1. You sign up here. You’ll get the chance to indicate what kind of gift you would like to receive (fic, gif etc), and if possible you’ll be matched up with someone that can make that, but sometimes that is not possible.

2. After sign ups close you’ll receive your assignment: who the person is you will be making a present for and what kind of gift they would like. While these are suggestions, make sure to not include anything they have pointed out as something they do not want.

What are your thoughts on WA renewal vows? What are the similarities and differences between these vows versus their previous? I see that you particularly like what Iris’s vows, what about it did you like? Sorry for all the questions but yes I love reading your thoughts on WA, always well thought out and give tremendous incite

It's interesting, because during my Secret Santa Westallen fic, one of the things that I knew I needed to incorporate is Barry waxing eloquent about his love for Iris, and Iris as a story-teller and how that shapes her beautiful declarations of love to Barry. Which is how the line, "You're the story-teller, after all. I'm just the boy lucky enough to love you," was borne, so to speak. Because this is a repeated occurrence in how Barry and Iris's declarations of love are shaped throughout the show, and this is particularly prominent in their vows: both their wedding vows and their vows at the renewal ceremony.

Barry's vows both at their wedding ceremony and at the vow renewal ceremony speak to concepts that dominate Westallen's love: home, lightning rod, past/present/only future, the durability and grounded-ness of their love.

Iris's vows both at their wedding and at their vow renewal ceremony speak about the story of their love: the story about Barry coming up on stage to help Iris during her ballet routine, their love is a friendship struck by lightning, they are their own force of nature, the honor, excitement, and happiness she feels towards being Barry's wife.

And I love how that speaks to who they are as people: Barry stating his feelings towards Iris, that she is his home and lightning rod, constantly. Iris, being the story-teller that she is, always telling the story of the power of their love.

But I feel that their respective vows during the vow renewal were even more powerful than their respective vows at their marriage ceremony, partly because of what they have been through since their wedding. What they have endured together and how they have made each other stronger, and the ways in which they reinforced that in their vows at the vow renewal ceremony. Iris starting from the beginning: that they are best friends, that their love is driven by that friendship and has been shaped by a very telling strike of lightning. It also harkens back to Barry's line in 7x03: "Our love is as strong as the lightning bolt that struck me seven years ago." Iris addresses then the power of their love: "You and I are our own force of nature," which also speaks to her line in 7x04, "We're Barry and Iris. That's the strongest superpower that there is." Meanwhile, Barry reinforcing that Iris has always been his lightning rod and emphasizing that their love story is one for the ages: she is his past, present, and only future.

What sets their vows in their vow renewal apart from their vows at their marriage ceremony is the particular emphasis on durability, on forever, on reflecting on what they've been through and how their love for each other has powered them through. Which is really fitting for a vow renewal. Vows at a wedding are about the present and the future, of course: a reflection of the utmost happiness of being husband and wife. Vows at a vow renewal emphasize the durability of love, the strengthening of love, and the foreverness of love. So, their vows at each ceremony were extremely fitting, but their vows at their vow renewal ceremony will always be my personal favorite, because they capture that durability, that strengthening, and that eternality of love

And yes, I do especially love Iris's vows at the vow renewal ceremony, and I think a huge part of that is because she's a story-teller. She conveys the story of their love in her beautiful vows and that resonates deeply with me. But I absolutely love both of their vows, of course.
