The Grimm writers were so real for making a wesen whose name directly translates to “bloodbath” and then giving us the softest cardigan wearing, cello playing, vegetarian clockmaker.

Wesen Moodboards
Blutbad (German: Blood Bath)
Tumblr media
Blutbaden are noted to lose any inhibition when they get into close proximity to one of their own, strongly hinting that they are motivated by pack mentality when giving in to their bestial natures. This may be why they tend to adopt solitary lifestyles, as nearly all Blutbad seen so far have lived alone in their own territory and relatively secluded from each other. However, this only seems to occur when there are no familiar ties with the Blutbaden in question. Blutbaden are known to be quite vicious; it is not uncommon for them to kill humans or other Wesen and then eat them.
They are very loyal to friends, and especially to family. Blutbaden can only be described as both noble and savage; they show unquestionable loyalty to those who earn their trust (even towards Grimms) and are willing to show their utmost ferocity towards anyone they deem a threat to their own, making them great allies and formidable enemies.

I mean, up until fairly recently (maybe a few years in the timeline) her life was all about making poor choices and choosing the wrong people. Kinda came out of left field that the wrongest choice she should've made was actually the rightest choice!
Like, cool, I'm gonna fall in love with the murder Wesen in a cozy sweater who's friends with a Wesen Murderer who's a cop. Oh well, at least it's not 'J' or acid or some shit.
Low bar?
the fact that Rosalie trusted Monroe enough to protect her after meeting him once is crazy

Ah man, there's gotta be more fics about Nick wearing Monroe's clothes to the precint during winter months cuz they're big and cozier
I wanna see his Wesen coworkers react in surprise when they see a peek of a claiming mark on his neck. Yeah they knew Nick was a grimm who was on their sde but never expected him to actually get with a Wesen
They know it's a blutbad that's for sure from both the scent and the style of mate claiming but they can't help but wonder who it is.
Perhaps when the other Wesen coworkers first caught a whiff of blutbad on him nearly everday, they began to betting pool to see how long it would take for this unknown Blutbad to claim the Grimm
Was it rather strange and very dangerous for everyone? Yeah. But it was it one hell of an uproar when Nick came to work one day subtly reeking of sex with a claiming bite high above his jacket collar for the world to see

Tumblr media
Love is like death, it must come to us all, but to each his own unique way and time, sometimes it will be avoided, but never can it be cheated, and never will it be forgotten.
The spice shop was gorgeous this time of year. Smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, and juniper with just a hint of pine filled the room. Lights strung up along the banners and shelves. There were not enough to distract or take away from the business, but it added just enough of Yuletide cheer to the area.
“Rosalee? Are you in?” Someone called out into the shop. She looked around in wonder as she waited for the person to appear.
“Hey, it’s my favorite Monroe. What can I do for you?” Said Fuchsbau emerged from the back, dressed in a cozy cardigan.
“Don’t let my brother hear you say that,” the Blutbad teased, “but seriously. I’m looking for a gift for my boyfriend and was wondering if maybe I could poke around and see what I could find?” Her timid tone, and now shy demeanor intrigued Rosalee as she watched the woman.
“Oh. Your mysterious boyfriend that we have yet to meet. I’m sure we could find something. Tell me a little bit about him.” Breathing a sigh of relief, the Blutbad relaxed and went back to her usual self.
“Well, he’s super sweet and oddly loaded. Which makes it difficult to buy him a gift because if he wants something, he already has it. I just- I want this to be good because it’s our first Christmas. But he does like tea when he’s not working to wind down. So maybe something to do with that?” Her rambling encouraged the other woman to begin scouring the shelves for something that might peek her interest.
“Is he wesen? Just incase I give him something poisonous.” Rosalee stopped to look at the sister in her shop.
“He’s half zauberbiest, if that helps.” She offered, to which Rosalee confirmed that it did, in fact, help in her search. But all the while the Fuchsbau’s thoughts were racing as she tried to think of anyone who was half zauberbiest. It was not a very common type of wesen, especially if he’s half.
“Aha! This might do the trick,” she pulled something from a shelf in a glass container, “it’s a calming blend. Rose, chamomile, lavender, mint, and green tea. It’s delicious and should help calm him down from stressful days.” The other woman’s face perked up, and she excitedly followed Rosalee to the counter, where she began to dispense an amount to take with her.
“So this boyfriend of yours, are you bringing him to dinner tomorrow night?” Rosalee tried to sound nonchalant, but her curiosity was eating away at her.
“Maybe. We’ve only been dating a few months. I’m just worried about my brother going off on him.” She pulled out her wallet as she continued to speak.
“I mean, the last time I was dating someone, Roe went full Blutbad on the guy and I could never get a date after that. This is the first guy I’ve dated in years, and I really like him. I don’t want to mess that up.” Taking to leaning against the counter and watching the Fuchsbau measure out the tea and square it away, she continued her lament. Rosalee looked up at her future sister-in-law.
“Look, I get it with your brother. He can be a bit intense. But I will keep him on his best behavior. Is that why you don’t want to introduce them?” She asked, ringing up her family discount for the tea.
“Yeah. That last guy, he looked at me like I was a freak after my brother woged at him. Haven’t been able to get over that stare since. And then he told every other wesen at our school to stay away from me and my ‘psycho’ brother. Never wanted to hurt a Hundjäger so badly in my life.” Placing some bills on the counter, she grabbed the package of tea from the woman, who held her hand gently.
“Bring him to dinner tomorrow. Juliette and I will make sure everyone is on their best behavior. There won’t be a repeat of that.” Rosalee reassured the Blutbad in her care. The other wesen nodded, and placed a hand on top of the other.
“I will, Rosalee.” They both smiled, and let each other go. As the female Blutbad left her shop, the Fuchsbau could not help but let her mind wander as she began to clean up a little bit. Did she even have zauberbiest come into the shop? It’s so hard to tell sometimes, let alone if they are half. All at once, Rosalee had a revelation. She knew who it was.
“Oh no.”
Meanwhile, in the precinct Nick watched from his desk as his captain seemed preoccupied with his phone. It was an unusual behavior which is why it drew the young man’s attention.
“What are you staring at so intensely, Nick?” Hank asked from his desk right next to him.
“It’s the captain. He’s been on his phone more and more today.” The detective pointed out.
“Maybe he’s making plans for Christmas dinner tomorrow night. It’s not a crime for him to be on his phone to make plans Nick.” He tried to explain the behavior away, but Burkhardt shook his head.
“See that?” He called attention to a certain quirk of the face. “He’s smiling. There’s no one in his life that he smiles genuinely for anymore. I think he’s got a girlfriend.” Nick said finally in disbelief.
“If anyone needs a good woman to keep him grounded, it’s definitely the captain. Just be happy for once and don’t profile the man.” Griffin shook his head and turned back to his files, prompting his partner to follow suit. But their attention was called away again as the captain’s office door was flung open.
“Where are you going?” Hank asked, watching the man move fast; it was as fast as he would move if they were on a case.
“Oh, I need to go pick up something for someone. You two should go home, and enjoy Christmas Eve with your families. I’ll see you later.” And with that, he was gone. The two detectives sat there, dumbfounded.
“I’ll be damned; the captain has a lady.” Hank muttered to himself, stopping his work for a moment. Checking the time, Nick stretched his back while standing from the chair.
“Alright, you heard the man. Let’s get out of here. Hey, see you at dinner tomorrow night?” Burkhardt asked of his partner. Griffin nodded and followed suit; both men grabbing their jackets from the back of their chairs in order to leave.
“You know it. I’m not one to turn down a free meal.” Hank joked, stepping out into the parking lot of the precinct. The men said their goodbyes and made their ways home.
In the Calvert-Monroe household though, a full blown argument was about to boil over. They had been going at it since the subject was brought up at dinner. It had lasted from the appetizer, all the way to clean up before dessert.
“All I’m saying is that I would like to meet her boyfriend before he comes over. What if he’s a lowen?” Monroe complained, handing washed dishes to his girlfriend.
“Do you honestly think your sister would date a lowen?” Rosalee countered, drying off the plate to stack.
“You’re right. Still,” he continued, “I just don’t want her to date someone that’s just going to break her heart. I mean, all the guys in high school she liked were totally not for her.” The Blutbad paused for a moment, and rested his soapy wet hands against the sink. Setting down the towel, Rosalee wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and cradled his face.
“She really likes this guy, Monroe. Don’t go over board. Besides, he’s not the worst choice for her.” Turning back to the task at hand, it took the man a second too long to process what the Fuchsbau had said.
“Wait, do you know who she’s dating?” Monroe questioned, watching Rosalee’s face take on an air of faux innocence.
“Maybe. Maybe not. She didn’t explicitly tell me who it was. I just worked it out from what little she did tell me.” She began to place her dishes away, but it seemed that Monroe was not yet done.
“Come on, who is it? Who is she dating?” But the woman said nothing.
“Rosalee.” He growled out in a warning tone, to which she finally faced her boyfriend and rested her hands on her hips.
“The only thing I will say, is that you have met him before. That is it. Now, cake?” Rosalee went to retrieve the chocolate cake from the fridge, leaving Monroe there in the kitchen.
“I’m gonna be kept up all night now.” He complained, but followed his girlfriend into the dining room to have dessert.
The next morning, was a morning of rest. Christmas had come, and everyone was preparing for the festivities that would soon come. Sneaking out of her shared bedroom, a Blutbad began to make breakfast for her lover that was still asleep in their bed. It still astounded her that she could even call this place, this bed, this man, her’s.
Vegan sausages were being fried, toast, pancakes, and several smaller side dishes covered the counter in the kitchen. It continued to shock her at how far vegan alternatives had come as she put the fake eggs in the pan to scramble. As she cooked, two strong bare arms wrapped around her waist. A kiss was placed to her head from behind as the mystery arms relaxed.
“Good morning. It’s not often that I get breakfast made for me.” The voice grumbled out, still thick with sleep.
“Who says this is for you?” She teased. Making sure that nothing would burn, she turned briefly in the man’s arms to come face to face with him. Sage green eyes gazed lovingly into her own, but shut momentarily as they met for a kiss. Her lips molded to her own, and reluctantly she pulled away from the beautiful shirtless man before her, in favor of ensuring their breakfast would not be wasted.
“It’s almost done. Want to go ahead and start putting food on the table?” One last kiss was pressed to her head, along with a squeeze at her waist, and he was off. Soon, the whole table was littered with food.
“Thank you for making this.” He commented genuinely, holding her hand over the steaming food. Suddenly, she hoped up as if a light bulb went off in her head, and she made her way to the kitchen. When she came out yet again, a mug was in her hands this time around.
“What is that?” Came his question, taking the mug and maneuvering it next to his other cup of coffee.
“It’s one of your Christmas presents. Try it.” Sitting down, she watched with bated breath as he brought the mug to his lips, and took a tentative sip. His face lit up and he eagerly took another sip.
“This is delicious. What is it?” Another question, and he was reaching for her hand once more.
“It’s a tea blend from a friend’s shop. I thought it’d be nice to help you wind down after work.” She explained, happy that she was able to get one of two correct.
“This is wonderful. I genuinely appreciate this. Let’s eat though. You went through all this work.” And with that, they dug into the food that littered the table before them. It was not too much longer before they sat themselves on the couch, and enjoyed each others company with presents to either side.
“Here you go.” The man placed a rather heavy wrapped present in her lap, and watched her with eager eyes. She tore into the paper, and leveled her boyfriend with a look as she saw what she had.
“Really, Sean?” Her tone was dry, and she tried to fight the smile coming onto her face. However, with her boyfriend sporting one himself, it was rather hard.
“What? You could always use another book, and I thought you might enjoy the stories.” Said man tried to explain away.
“You gave me a collection of brothers Grimm fairytales!” She exclaimed.
“And you’re not wanting to read them?” He leveled her with another look, which made her shrink down into herself.
“Yes. I’m going to read them.” Muttering under her breath, she placed the book to her side and grasped the other box that was next to her. She placed it in her lover’s lap, and awaited his reaction. Sean gently unwrapped the present, and opened the box that was in his hands. His face dropped in surprise, and his eyes danced over the present he had.
“Do you like it?” Timidly, she inquired. There was no telling what his reaction was going to be. Sean’s hand reached in and pulled out the small object that was awaiting him. It was a ring. Tiny and unassuming, which described his lover but that was not what caught his attention. It was what was on the inside of the ring. An inscription dated September 23rd of that year; their anniversary.
“You don’t like it? It’s fine if you don’t. I just thought maybe you would. I can take it back though if you don’t want it. I’m sure I could at least get store-” she never finished her rambling, because her boyfriend had surged forward and captured her lips in his. They remained locked in their embrace for who knows how long, but she was pushed against the couch in the midst of it. Alas, they pulled away for some much needed oxygen.
“Do you like it?” She repeated her inquiry.
“I love it.” He replied, breathlessly. Helping her back up, Sean allowed her to slip the ring on to his left pinky finger. On the outside, it just looked like a simple silver band, but the fact that he knew that there was that inscription inside made it feel like a known secret. And it was all his.
“This is funny actually.” Sean reached behind him and found the box next to him once more. She was confused as to what he was talking about, and took the box gingerly from his hands. Opening, she let out a small chuckle as to what was inside.
“Now, now, you still have to get my brother on your side.” Once again, she was teasing him. He chuckled as well, but pulled the ring from the box.
“It’s a promise ring.” Sean slipped the ring on to her right ring finger. The emerald in the center, with the silver surrounding it instantly drew her eyes to the sparkling stone.
“This is going to turn some heads at dinner tonight.” Her mind could not help but think about what was going to happen.
“I’ll be right by your side.” Drawing her into his arms, Sean pressed a kiss to her head, and cradled her close.
A few hours later, the couple was dressed up and ready to leave. One last spray of perfume and the jewelry was placed on her body before they left for the evening. Her leg could not stop bouncing as they neared their destination. Sean reached over and held her thigh in hi grasp, which allowed her to calm down just enough. He parked on the side of the road and helped his girlfriend safely exit the car onto the icy sidewalks. They walked up to the door with stained glass, and she took a deep breath.
“You can still back out, you know?” She tried to tell her boyfriend, but he just held her by the shoulders and looking into her eyes.
“I’m not scared by meeting your family. It’s going to be fine.” Sean tried to reassure her.
“Alright. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” And with that, she knocked. Just a moment later, the door opened and revealed a festive looking Fuchsbau.
“You made it!” Rosalee cheered, hugging her boyfriend’s sister close. Letting go, she turned to face the man standing next to her.
“Captain.” She greeted politely, and held out her hand for him to shake.
“Rosalee. It’s good to see you again.” This confused the Blutbad standing between them.
“You know each other?” She wondered aloud. Renard and Rosalee looked at each other.
“I think you’ll find a lot of the people here have met each other at least once.” Rosalee responded cryptically. She pulled them in and out of the cold, before taking their coats to their spare room. The couple wandered through the house and found where the rest of the group was hanging around. She got to watch Sean’s eyes take in her brother’s Christmas decorations that littered the room. The sheer amount of tinsel, lights, and fake snow that was around the house was enough to make even the most Christmasy person take a step back. There was a pause as everyone stopped to stare at the couple.
“You’ve got to be joking.” Monroe stated, setting down his beer. Nick, Juliette, and Hank all turned to face where the Blutbad was staring.
“Captain? Nice to see you?” Nick drawled out confused, and followed his friend’s motion.
“Roe, everyone, this is Sean. But I’m guessing that you all know each other.” She was looking around at the rest of the guests.
“Oh, you’re dying now.” Rounding the corner at an incredible speed, there were shouts as Monroe grabbed the collar of Sean’s more casual sweater she had convinced him to wear instead of his suit. He shoved the zauberbiest against a wall, narrowly missing some decorations as he woged. By this point, Nick and Hank were trying desperately to pull him off of the man, while Juliette and Rosalee were holding and shielding the other Blutbad.
“What are you playing at? What do you want that you feel the need to date my sister?” Monroe growled out, eyes no longer human but red and black and unearthly.
“I am not dating her for a plan. I love her for her.” Sean held up his hands in surrender.
“Roe, let him go.” His sister growled, stepping out from behind the women. The man in question turned his head and let the woge fade back into his skin
“This man is not who he says he is. He’s a royal, little sis. He only told you he loves you to find a way to fit into his plans. Whatever they are.” The longer he spoke, the angrier his sister became.
“I know he’s half-royal, Roe. But that doesn’t mean that Sean doesn’t love me. Now get off of him.” Fully woge out, she grabbed her brother’s arm and threw him back enough to create some distance. The three men that were currently in front of Sean were replaced by one angry Blutbad woman. Her woge disappeared as soon as it came, and she checked in on her boyfriend.
“It’s been lovely seeing everyone, but if this is how it’s going to be, we’ll be leaving.” She said after whispering to Sean for a few moments. It shocked everyone in the room. Rosalee went to reluctantly grab their coats, while everyone else stared at Monroe with pointed glares.
“Wait!” The Blutbad called just before the couple left the party. Sean was helping her into her coat when they paused. He was entirely following her lead on this, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable or unwanted.
“I’m- I’m sorry, okay? You’re my sister and I’m always going to be protective of you. But you are an adult so I need to accept your choice. I’ll tone it down just, please, stay for dinner?” He was keeping his eyes on his sister, who returned with a less believable stare.
“You’re allowed to ask him three questions about our relationship, and three about himself. That’s it.” She replied, allowing Sean to once again, help her out of her coat. Rosalee took it back and happily went to set them on the bed once more. Monroe pulled his sister into a bear hug in the foyer of his home. When they pulled away, Sean stepped up to properly greet the Blutbad.
“You hurt my sister, I’ll break my pledge.” Monroe stared the half zauberbiest dead in the eye as he shook his hand. Renard brought out a smirk, and shook the man’s hand firmly.
“I’m slowly starting to realize the amount of people who will hurt me if I hurt her, including her.” He replied smoothly. The couple were pulled back into the fray easily. Everyone was laughing and eating, and in general, just having a great time. Looking at each other over their glasses of wine, and plates of food, Sean gave her a small wink, and held her hand. With the other, he thumbed a small velvet box the was in the pocket of his slacks. Perhaps next Christmas she would be more than a girlfriend. He needs to get through to her brother first.

family. ( nick burkhardt x reader )

You crossed paths with Monroe due to your role within the Wesen council, however, you considered him a friend. When you heard the council planned to strike Nick, the Grimm you had once stopped by to talk about, concerned for Monroe's safety once news got out that he was friends with a Grimm, you warned the Blutbad and he was grateful for the heads up. Then when the attack was arranged, you went to help him defend the Grimm.
While not the strongest Wesen, a Pflichttreue is loyal, fearless, and smart, and you know how to outsmart your enemies. The council knew about your friendship with Monroe, hence why you resorted to spying to find out what they were hiding. Monroe had told you about the trailer and you found the duo inside, warning them that the council was on their way.
"This is Nick. The one they're trying to kill." Monroe introduced.
You sent the Blutbad a smile, "I know. I've seen a picture." You both looked towards the door when you heard footsteps outside, smelling the Wesen arriving. "They're here."
"You don't have to stay and fight," Nick told you.
"I'm already on their bad side. Might as well go for broke. Besides, any friend of Monroe's is a friend of mine." You glanced at Monroe who sent you a small smile before looking at Nick when he held out a gun to you.
"Thank you."
"Thank me if we're still alive." You sent him a smile, cocking the shotgun.
It became common after that night that you spent time in the trailer, bringing your own knowledge to the team. You were shunned from the Wesen community, even Pflichttreue's refused to stand by your side after learning you had aided a Grimm. Nick felt guilty for the way you were cast aside, but you never let it show that you were affected, although it hurt when your closest friends refused to talk to you.
There were many times Nick had observed you when you weren't looking as you both scoured books for answers. Tonight was no different.
"I think I found it." You spoke up and looked over at the Grimm as he stood next to you, leaning on the table. "Here." You translated the text from German and looked up at him, realizing how close you were.
"Have I told you how much I appreciate all your help?"
"You may have mentioned it once or twice." You smiled. He frequently called you brilliant or thanked you for helping him. You knew he felt guilty that you had been shunned by the Wesen community but you formed stronger friendships with him, Hank, and Monroe.
Nick often thought about that night as it was the first time you kissed. Before you could discuss what it meant, Hank called and he had to meet him to follow up a lead. "We'll talk about this later?"
You sent him a smile, "Sure."
He mirrored the smile as he left.
Now here you were, two years later, giving birth to your first child. Your family had come around to your relationship with a Grimm, although there were moments when you felt they kept him at a distance, and when you had contractions for over an hour, you called your mother, hoping she would drive you to the hospital. You had prolonged going to the hospital, keeping busy until your water broke, and were now more than ready for some painkillers.
Instead of going to the hospital, she took you upstairs, explaining the tradition of home births, and how all the women in your family had given birth at home. You realized quickly it was pointless arguing to go to the hospital, and you were already too tired to try.
"Can you call Nick? I want him to be here." You told her as you lay on the bed, your mother propping your back with the pillows.
"What is he going to do? He's a detective, not a doctor."
You woge as a growl rose in your throat, glaring at your mother during a contraction. "Call Nick!"
She nodded, sighing as she used your cell phone to call him, leading to an argument as Nick believed you should go to a hospital. Your mother rushed over to you once she hung up, and you shifted back to your human form, following her breathing exercises.
"I'll be right back, I'll get a bowl of water and a cloth."
You nodded, continuing the exercises, closing your eyes as you hoped Nick would arrive soon. When she returned, your sisters and aunts were by her side with blankets and towels. Your aunt monitored your progress and it felt like days instead of hours when she announced it was time to start pushing.
"Where is Nick?"
It had been a while since your mother called him and he still hadn't arrived. Whether he was working a case, or searching leads on a Wesen, when you called and said you needed him he dropped everything and rushed to be by your side.
"I'll call him." Your sister said as she left the room. She sent you a smile over her shoulder when you thanked her.
Several minutes later she returned with her cell phone in hand and you knew her expression spelled something was wrong. "What? Oh, no, what is it?"
"He is stuck in traffic across town."
You threw your head back onto the headboard, groaning from despair and the pain. Your mother sat beside you, rubbing your arm, "Now, honey, everything will be fine. We're here."
Several hours passed by and you were beginning to lose hope Nick would arrive in time as your mother and sister held your hands, while one of your aunts dabbed your forehead, and another told you when to push.
A loud bang sounded downstairs and heavy footsteps followed until Nick appeared, grey eyes wide, hair disheveled and you cried out in relief at the sight of him.
"You're here!"
"Why are you sweating?" Your mother grimaced when he took your sister's space beside you.
"I ran halfway across town." He took your hand, covering your joined hands with his free hand. "How are you feeling?"
"Better now that you're here." You leaned against his chest, closing your eyes.
"I still think you should go to a hospital." He murmured as he kissed your head.
Before your mother could list the many women in your family who had given homebirths, you tightened your grip on their hands as you cried out, pushing as your aunt counted down from ten.
Soon a cry pierced the room as your son was born and Nick pressed a kiss to your forehead, smiling brightly as he murmured praises. You smiled softly, resting your head on his shoulder while your aunts wrapped the newborn in warm towels and blankets. You looked at your husband when he combed your hair away from your cheek, and he could see how tired you were from your smile.
"I love you."
He placed a hand on your cheek, leaning in to kiss you, pulling back to whisper, "I love you too," before pressing his lips to yours for a few moments longer.
"Oh, he's so beautiful!" The sound of your mother fawning over her grandson made you both pull away and your sister handed the baby to her. Your mother tucked the blanket beneath your son's chin, smiling as she looked over at you. "Well done, honey." Her eyes moved to Nick, nodding at the bathroom door. "Nick, come help me clean him up."
He kissed your forehead before standing up and you smiled as he walked away, looking at your aunt when she began to help clean you up. You were exhausted when he returned, carrying your son in his arms, your sister keeping you cool as she dabbed your forehead with a cold cloth.
"Is she okay?" He frowned, seeing you had woged.
"It's just the stress. She'll be fine." Your aunt assured him with a smile. "We'll leave you two alone."
"I'll be downstairs." Your mother said.
"Thank you." At first, he was concerned by their plan for a home birth, but now, knowing you both were okay, he was grateful.
Your mother sent him a nod and a small smile before she left.
The two had formed an understanding after their talk in the bathroom where she expressed her worry for you and your child due to being a Grimm and Nick explained that you hadn't helped him fight other Wesen since you found out you were pregnant and he planned to keep it that way, preferring to keep you out of harm's way despite knowing how well you could handle yourself in a fight if needed. You had stayed up late one night talking about his work as a Grimm and while you confessed that you could never feel the same way about anyone else, you would always worry about him, but you wanted to live as normal life as you could. Nick agreed, inwardly thrilled that your pregnancy had made you reconsider fighting alongside him. In the early days of your relationship, you had argued about it a lot, wondering if he didn't trust you enough but Nick explained that there was no one he trusted more than you and Monroe. You helped him become the Grimm he wanted to be, teaching him everything he needed to know and now that he could, he wanted to protect you - and for you to keep out of harm's way.
When the room was empty, Nick closed the door and walked over to the bed with your son in his arms. He lay beside you, setting your son in the middle and you gazed down at the newborn with teary eyes. "Hey,"
"Hi," You sent him a smile as you lifted your eyes when you felt his stare and kissed him tenderly for a moment. You pulled away and both of you gazed down at your son who was sleeping soundly. Nick's eyebrows raised when he saw the white fur, a mixture of black spots and lined markings on your son's face.
"Whoa," He whispered.
You leaned down to nuzzle your nose against his, pulling away to watch as the fur disappeared and your son opened his grey eyes for a moment before you hushed him back to sleep.
"He's perfect, isn't he?"
Nick smiled at you as you gazed down adoringly at your sleeping son. "Yeah, he is."
You met his gaze, smiling softly. The birth of your first born brought your family and Nick closer, as your mother could see how dedicated he was to his family and how much he adored you both. She always dropped hints about another grandchild and Nick choked on his morning coffee when she mentioned your father's sister had six kids. You still helped him research Wesen but you never fought alongside him or Monroe, spending your time with your son and later your daughter. When you met Nick he had no family left and all you ever wanted was to have children of your own, pleased you could give him another family. You knew that your children would hardly be 'normal' being half-Grimm and half-Pflichttreue but you wanted them to live in both worlds. Go to parties with their friends and grow up being taught everything Nick had to learn on his own. You wanted them to grow up knowing exactly who they were and how much they were loved. Nick wanted them to be prepared, to know his side of the family and when he came home one night from work he had listened outside the door of the bedroom as you told your children stories he had told you about his parents and Marie, he became teary-eyed.
His favorite moments were when he could stay home and make the most of his time with the family you had created. Nick would wake up when your son cried and change his diaper before taking him downstairs for breakfast, allowing you to sleep undisturbed. The first few times it happened you would suddenly wake up on high alert and rush downstairs to find Nick lying on the floor with your son on his playmat or on the sofa with your son on his chest.
"Can you say mama? Dada? How about Grimm?"
You smiled as you approached the two and leaned on the back of the sofa as you greeted them. "I think he's a little young for that last one."
"I thought I was starting him off easy. Your mother was trying to teach him how to say Pflichttreue the other day."
You giggled, leaning over to kiss him good morning before heading to the kitchen to make some coffee.
When his aunt died he felt alone in the world - taking him back all those years to when his parents died. But you had given him everything he ever wanted, spent every minute taking care of him and your family, and Nick was both grateful and in complete awe of you, lucky he got to call you his wife and the mother of his children.

Killian watched the vans depart and began tearing down the police tape they’d used to cordon off the area. The techs had left behind one of their flood lights for him to use while finishing his own tasks, but after he stowed it away in his cruiser he realized how unnecessary that had been. The moon was bright enough for him to do a final patrol with the assistance of his flashlight to illuminate the hidden areas within the trees’ shadows.
He’d just finished a sweep of the perimeter when the skin at the back of his neck prickled and his hair began to stand on end. The area, which moments ago had been softly sound-tracked by an ambiance of crickets and distant hoots of owls, had gone quiet.
Too quiet.
Reaching down to his holster, he flicked loose the restraining strap with his thumb before palming his side arm. “Who’s there?” Killian called out as more prickles of unease crept over his skin and up his spine. “Storybrooke PD! Identify yourself!”
Movement flickered in his periphery and the quick succession of snapping twigs alerted him to someone fleeing the scene.
“Halt!” he yelled out while in hot pursuit with his gun drawn. “Storybrooke PD, I demand you stop and identify yourself!”
Barely able to keep pace, Killian chased after the suspect. His attempt to call in the incident over the radio on his shoulder had been met with static as he was clearly too far out of range. Not wishing to lose the perp, he did not want to risk digging his phone from his pocket, lest it slow him down. The pursuit lasted for an agonizing length of time, drawing Killian deeper and deeper into the woods, his legs burning and his lungs screaming from the extreme exertion.
He finally stopped after bursting into a clearing, biting back curses under his heaving breaths for having lost sight of the suspect. Holstering his weapon, he doubled over with his hands on his knees in an attempt to catch his breath. A painful stitch began to form at his side and sweat from his forehead threatened to blur his vision.
The snap of a branch was the only warning he had before something solid collided with him, knocking him to the ground. Inhuman snarls and the gnashing of teeth curdled Killian’s blood even before he caught sight of the monstrous wesen he was currently trying to fight off with all his might.
Blutbad. The Big, Bad Wolf. In full woge and ready to tear Killian’s throat out.

The Long Wait Chapter 14
A Fuschbau, A Blutbad and a Grimm
Fandom: Grimm
Pairing: Sean Renard/OFC
The Long Wait Masterlist
A/N: A nice little chapter including two of my favourite characters, Monroe and Rosalee. The ultimate couple. Also, if you want to be added to the taglist whenever a new chapter comes out, comment below.

“So, are you looking forward to your romantic trip away?” Lorelei asked Nick, as she finished loading her washing into the machine. It was laundry day and Lorelei was once again utilising her brother’s machine. It was a rare Sunday where Nick wasn’t working, and Juliette had stepped out to grab some ingredients for lunch.
“Yeah. It will be good to get away. No work, no wesen. Just me and Juliette.” Nick replied. “I’m actually planning on proposing to Juliette while we are away.” He admitted.
Lorelei was a little surprised to hear that, especially considering how awkward things had been with the couple. “Oh yeah?”
Nick nodded. “It’s the perfect opportunity. No distractions, in a cosy cabin with a roaring fire. It’ll be perfect.”
Lorelei debated whether to ask him if he really thought it was a good idea, especially considering he still hadn’t told Juliette about his second job. However, Nick looked so excited, she didn’t have the heart to burst his bubble. “I look forward to hearing about it. The proposal, not what I assume would happen after it.”
Nick rolled his eyes. “As if I would share that much with you.”
Lorelei laughed. “I would hope not.”
“I am a little worried about what happens if Hank gets a case involving a wesen.” Nick said.
This time it was Lorelei’s turn to roll her eyes. “You act like Hank never arrested a wesen before. He’ll be fine.” She assured him. Nick nodded, although he didn’t seem as sure as she did. “You just focus on having a good time, away from the responsibilities of being a cop and a Grimm.”

The day after Nick and Juliette headed away, Lorelei decided to visit Rosalee at the spice shop in the afternoon as she was still on Spring Break and had the day off work. When Lorelei walked into the shop, she was surprised to see Monroe walk out carrying some boxes.
“Ah, and here I thought I was getting a few Burkhardt free days.” He joked upon seeing her.
Lorelei rolled her eyes. “Haha, very funny. What are you doing here?” she asked.
“I could ask you the same thing.”
Lorelei shrugged. “I have a free day, so I thought I would stop by.”
Rosalee came out behind Monroe, also carrying some boxes. “Hi Lorelei.” She placed the boxes down and moved over to Lorelei, giving her a big hug. “How are you?”
“I’m good. And yourself?” Lorelei answered, returning the hug.
“Can’t complain. I have a big strong blutbad to help me restock.” Rosalee said, patting Monroe on the arm. Lorelei hid a smile as Monroe’s face turned red and he ducked his head, clearly trying to hide it.
“He is very helpful.” Lorelei said. “Anything I can do to help?”
Rosalee walked over to the counter and picked up a sheet of paper. “You can check items off the list, as we restock them and take note of what needs to be restocked.”
“Sounds good.”

The trio had been working for some time. “Look, I really appreciate you helping me out with all this stuff.” Rosalee said, as she and Monroe returned to the front with some more boxes.
“Well, you never know when I might need a discount on ‘Tincture of Prickle Poppy’.” Monroe stated, looking at the label on the bottle before looking back at Rosalee in confusion.
Rosalee smiled. “Yeah, that’s for um, romantic stamina.” She told him.
“Oh well, no wonder why I didn’t know what it was.” He said. Rosalee laughed, while Lorelei rolled her eyes from her position at the counter. Those two had low key been flirting all afternoon.
“I found something.” Rosalee said, as she pulled what appeared to be an envelope from among the shelves. Curious, Lorelei moved over to where they were standing.
“Oooh, maybe its money.” Monroe said
“It’s not money. It’s passports.” Rosalee said, pulling them from the envelope. “From Brazil, Canada…”
“And Germany.” Monroe finished. “I wonder who they belong to.” They opened the passports, trying to determine who they belong to. Each one had a picture of the same man. “Is that your brother? In all of them?”
“Yeah, but with different names.” Rosalee replied, sounding confused.
“What was he a spy or something?”
“I have no idea.”
At that moment, Monroe’s phone rang. He pulled it out and sighed heavily when he saw the caller ID. He answered it, shooting a look at Lorelei. It had to be Nick.
“Hey Nick. I thought a vacation for you, kinda meant, you know a vacation for me too.”
Yep. Definitely Nick. What the hell could he need Monroe’s help for?
“My groin is fine, thank you.” Rosalee and Lorelei exchanged a look, as Monroe turned to look at them, shaking his head before returning to his call.
“Woah, woah, woah. Is this a joke? That sounds like a Seltenvogel, if they weren’t extinct.”
Rosalee perked up slightly, at the name of the wesen. “A seltenvogel?” she asked Monroe. Lorelei looked at them in confusion. She hadn’t heard of that type of wesen before. But if they were thought to be extinct, it made sense.
“It sounds like it.” He replied before returning his attention to Nick. “Yeah, I’m with Rosalee and Lorelei, helping out at the shop. But let’s get back to the seltenvogel. In the ancient times they were highly valued and usually kept prisoner, you know like a concubine or a parakeet…..Once in their life a seltenvogel produces this kind of large…glandular thing…”
“I think it’s called an unbezahlbar.” Rosalee said, coming down the ladder. She walked off, and Monroe watched after her.
“Easy for you to say.” He said to her. Monroe walked after her, holding out the phone as she repeated the word.
“My brother has a book.” Rosalee said, as she walked around the counter and began looking through under it.
“Hang on, we’re looking.” Monroe told Nick. Lorelei joined them, leaning over the counter from the front.
“Here it is.” Rosalee said, pulling out an old looking book. She began flipping through the pages. “Oh here.”
“Ok, uh it is a dense mineral deposit which grows in the throat sack…” Monroe began.
Rosalee continued, leaning closer to Monroe reading the entry “…and develops something like an egg.”
Lorelei watched as the pair realised how close they were. They smiled at each other and Lorelei looked away, feeling as if she were witnessing something she shouldn’t.
“Anyway.” Monroe continued “Um, yeah if the stone gets too big its need to be delivered and the trick is getting it out intact because if it’s damaged it’s, you know, worthless…Well, its unbelievably rare for one thing, but its also supposed to be mostly gold if you believe in that kind of thing.” He listened to Nick and his eyes widened. “Oh man, this is the woman who’s with the klaustreich…Listen, if he’s anything like the guy I went to high school with, as soon as he gets what he wants she is going to be in big trouble man. And when I saw big trouble, I mean she is going to get plucked ok, big time.”
Not long after he hung up the phone, he looked at Rosalee and Lorelei with wide eyes. “I hope Nick is able to help that girl.” Lorelei said, while the other two nodded in agreement.
Tumblr media
The three continued working together, no doubt thinking about Nick and the wesen he had met. Lorelei had considered driving out there, so Nick would have some backup, but Monroe talked her out it. They took a break to have dinner and continued working. Lorelei was in one of the back rooms with Rosalee, when her phone rang. Rosalee answered it and Lorelei’s attention was peaked when she heard her brothers voice emerge from the phone.
“Rosalee, hey, Nick Burkhard here. I need your help.” Lorelei joined Rosalee and saw that her brother was using Facetime.
“What’s wrong?” Rosalee asked.
“Well, I’m with…” he trailed off, turning the camera to face a woman who appeared to be struggling to breath “…Robin, the seltenvogel.”
“Nick, you need to get that stone out of her before it cuts off her airway.” Rosalee said with a serious tone.
“Yeah, I know. But how?”
Monroe entered the room. “Is that Nick? He called you? You called her?” he said, coming to stand behind Rosalee.
“Can you guys do this later? This girl needs help”
Monroe grabbed the book and flipped to the right page, and along with Rosalee they helped Nick through the process of removing the stone. Eventually Nick got it out and showed them.
“Oh wow.” Rosalee said. “How is she?”
“She seems to be breathing a lot better.” Nick noted. “I think she’s going to be ok.”
They congratulated Nick on a job well done and ended the call.
“Wow.” Monroe said and Rosalee laughed.
“We just saw something special, didn’t we?” Lorelei asked.
“Yeah, we did.” Rosalee told her, giving her a small hug.
Tumblr media
Lorelei met up with Nick, a few days after he returned from his trip. He updated her on how things ended. Including, his proposal to Juliette once they returned home. “I just can’t believe she said no.” he said from his position on Lorelei’s sofa.
Lorelei couldn’t say she was surprised, but her brother didn’t need to be kicked while he was down. “Did she say why?”
“She said its because I am hiding things from her.” Was his answer.
Lorelei shrugged. “Well, she isn’t exactly wrong. You are hiding things from her.” She said tentatively.
“For her own good.” Nick retorted.
“I know that. But she doesn’t.” Nick sighed. “Look. Its your prerogative to keep this information from her and its her prerogative to not want to marry someone keeping things from her. It sucks, but it is how it is.”
Nick sighed again, running his hand over his face. “If I want to keep Juliette, I need to tell her the truth. But telling her the truth, could mean I lose her.”
Lorelei didn’t really know what to say, so she simply gave her brother a big hug, holding him close. Hoping he would be able to draw some comfort from it.
