Chapter 2 sneak preview

Omega.

The word itself made her flinch.

“You’re mistaken.” Her voice was hoarse from screaming, and weaker than she would’ve liked. “I’m not -”

“But that's what you really are, aren't you? An Omega. A prize, in the eyes of many … and to think, you were hiding under my nose for what, a year? Longer? Come, you must tell me.” His words were gentle, coaxing, his face rearranged into a mask of kindness. “How did you manage it? I've never heard of an Alpha becoming an Omega.”

Riddle trailed a fingertip along the newly-sensitive bump in her wrist. She jerked at the sensation, and turned her head away.

He laughed, and before, she would have found the sound grating. Obnoxious. Now, the bass of his laughter reverberated deep in her gut. A distant voice in the back of her head shouted at her, revolted that she was happy he found her amusing -

“Please,” she begged, struggling to right herself with her wrists and ankles bound, “you can’t tell anyone about this; I’ll do anything -”

Riddle smiled. “You will, won’t you? You will do anything, exactly as I wish, and what I wish, Hermione, is for you to prostrate yourself before me, figuratively speaking, and to answer my questions."

He rose smoothly to sit himself comfortably by the long-dead fire, attention briefly diverted to lazily wave his wand towards the Common Room door.

"In fact, nothing would please me more ... Oh …” Riddle trailed off softly, eyes hungrily drinking her in, for Hermione had, without her usual protest, instinctively obeyed his order and rolled onto her knees in front of him, bound wrists tucked under her tailbone.

Like a trussed-up lamb, ready for slaughter.

Like a sacrifice.

Eddie accidentally outing himself to Steve and then immediately panicking that Steve is gonna know he’s into him so he starts rambling like “oh but don’t worry I’m not into you or anything, like you’re not even my type man, yeah I’m actually more into… werewolves? And internally he’s screaming at himself to shut the fuck up because did he just tell Steve Harrington that he wants to get railed by a werewolf? What the fuck Eddie? It’s not like he’s totally lying about that (though he’s also very much into Steve) but that’s not something to just tell people

Meanwhile Steve is devastated because his crush just confessed to liking boys and then in the same breath said he’d never be into him.

can we normalize disliking shifts please. i see so much positive talk abt shifts and that's great i love that some people enjoy tgem but whenever i come out of a shift it makes me feel so empty inside

like part of me is literally missing (it is)

idk i just wish people talked more about how shifts aren't always fun bc literally all i see on tiktok are people "shifting" after setting up a camera and them jumping around or getting on all fours and doing vocqls or smth. it makes me feel rlly crappy sometimes bc i don't get zoomies when i shift i get angry and mean and my body suddenly feels WRONG on all levels like it knows it's not supposed to be this way but it is for some horrible reason

i think they should have kept scott trying to use sat prep words in daily conversation throughout the seasons tbh. just as an ongoing bit. scott should have said someone was "endowed" with The Bite. he describes the alpha pack as "fomenting" trouble. we should have gotten AT LEAST one scene where a character pulls out their phone to look up a word he uses and another where they learn he used it wrong
