Discovery of a Werewolf Part 1
((A random prequel that I wrote specifically thinking about the Okami AU version of werewolf!Erich, but more or less canon for every werewolf!Erich version I’ve written.)) Gregor knocks on the door to Rerugen’s office, then pauses to listen for Rerugen to call him in. Seconds pass in silence and Gregor sighs. Knocks again. Waits— Nothing. He rolls his eyes and lets himself in, knowing that…

Talon’s End Devlog: August 2024
I thought August would be less busy than July, but that unfortunately turned out not to be the case! I'm hoping to have the first AU extra finished in the first half of September, so there should be some good stuff coming for the small but vocal group of werewolf!Hawk enthusiasts. Modern AU Shea and deities AU poly will come a bit later on.
I've also returned to TE proper to take an editing pass on what I have written for the autumn festival. I'm expecting to do some major streamlining of what I have to focus more on quality and flow over quantity. It's still going to be a hefty update! Just hopefully more manageable to write and more enjoyable to play.
No spoilers this time! Instead, since I've been thinking about TE and lycanthropy, please enjoy this (not very serious) list of the ROs and MC's siblings(-in-law) as what lycanthropes they would be, purely based on vibes:
Hawk: wereraven Shea: wereracoon Soren: werewolf Sabine: werebear Isla: wereowl Erich: werefox

There is a breed of working dog that comes in red, and it’s called a Lacy. Lacey is also the name of Barbie’s dog. Therefore, Algy Lacey should be a werewolf and Erich should find that out in an extremely awkward extremely h/c mission gone wrong situation. It’s a prompt of unquestionable logic.
Okay, I looked up the Lacy dog and you are ENTIRELY CORRECT, anon, this dog is definitely Algy.
I have absolutely zero brain for fic at the moment, but I want this fic to exist.
Imagine BOTH of their reactions if Algy forgets himself and licks his face.

Had a dream that the next big Mike Flanagan Netflix series was The Music of Erich Zann. It was set in the 1970's and the preview opened with a very stylish rock dude telling his bandmates "Yeah, I'm Erich Zann's drug dealer."
Also there was a werewolf involved.
Posting this here to see if it's my turn with the Apollo Dodgeball.

Gen 8 - Part 9
Glimmerbrook (The WhiteTree Coven)
WhiteTree Coven
While the Coven had existed for many generations past this one, it was time for it to be recognized as a royal power over its dominion, while continuing its sacred practice of magic and protection. Glimmerbrook welcomes all occult, and most anyone is free to join the coven, save that they are a natural Earth occult. However, they have mostly kept their influcence and opinions out of world affairs. But they can no longer. Many good spellcasters were instrumental in taking down the Mother Plant in the First Invasion of Gen 8, and had been asked to continue to help with the fights to come.
With the High Witch Rhomari just married to her true love after surviving the first round of fighting, she’s hesitant. But perhaps her new family is all the more reason to fight when the next Invasion hits.
(from top left to right) Witch Venerable Setarish WhiteTree, Keeper Urius WhiteTree, High Witch Rhomari WhiteTree, Dark Witch Yuna Okada
(from bottom left to right) Whitney Xesuvixes (werewolf), Witch Apprentice Claudia Braie, Lady Piper WhiteTree, Lord Balder WhiteTree
Glimmerbrook Life
Life in Glimmerbrook is peaceful and magical, as one would imagine. The coven thrives and new generations look foreword to being part of their magical world when they grow.
However, within the coven stirs a very dark power. Imari Xesuvixes, known in her circle as the Allblood, has finally finished her experimentations on other occults, making them a part of herself. As a being with all occult powers and abilities, she’s now biding her time until she can reveal herself and begin her true master plan: eradicate all royalty on the planet!
Prof. Grimoricus (servo), Keeper Apprentice Inushan WhiteThree, High Apprentice Samara WhiteTree, Witch Apprentice Genevieve Kiraseindu
Dark Witch Imari Xesuvixes (Allblood), Alistair Xesuvixes, Uzoll Xesuvixes (alien), Jaxon Xesuvixes (werewolf)
San Myshuno (New Sixam Empire/Syndicated States of Strangreix)
City life is the best life for those needing to get noticed or be closer to their business empires. They have also been great places to raise families. Not long after the Final Battle of Gen 6, the divided city scape has been peaceful and accommodating to all since.

It’s finally time – and by popular demand – to tackle the infamous Frankenstein Island (1981). With movies such as Face of the Screaming Werewolf (1965), The Wild World of Batwoman (1966), or Teenage Zombies (1960) under his belt, are you prepared for a Jerry Warren film from the early Eighties? If you’re a fan of schlocky cult films, of course, you are! Actors Robert Clarke and Katherine Victor are joined by legends Cameron Mitchell and John Carradine in a yarn about an island full of Frankenstein’s sunglasses-wearing zombies. And yeah, Jeff gives a 5-minute monologue on Steve Brodie’s career (just humor him). Enjoy!
At the time of this writing, Frankenstein Island is available to stream with ads from Tubi and Pluto TV; PPV from Amazon Prime; and a Rifftrax treatment free with Amazon Prime.
Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film, chosen by Chad, will be Zombi 3 (1988). Lucio Fulci . . . kind of . . . sort of . . . so, yeah.
Please let them know how they’re doing! They want to hear from you – the coolest, grooviest fans – so leave them a message or comment on the Gruesome Magazine Youtube channel, on the Gruesome Magazine website, or email the Decades of Horror 1980s podcast hosts at [email protected].

Oh goodness, my eyeballs. Time to do the reveal, and then we'll settle on our lot and I'm off to bed because it is 130 in the morning for me 😅
So, just to run through the family, we've got the Alien Matriarch Kailyn and her disguise, her werewolf daughter Elsie and her normal husband Erich. Then their children, Tierra the vampire-who doesnt change for dark form, daughter Tanisha-a kleptomaniac, and then baby Finley, who fingers crossed will be a mermaid.
Let's turn that inversion off
I crave some Peak Chaos tonight.
We're going to do some insanely dumb challenge combining.
General Idea:
Cozy and Chaotic: try to have a sweet, loving family that's close and Cozy, yet experience/cause some chaos
Legacy Challenge: survive as long as you can and grow that tree
Baby-Elder: one of each generation
Long lifespan
CAS Challenges:
Story mode: for each sim I can, I'm also going to aim for occult if I can get them
Inverted color challenge: going to CAS my sims inverted, for the hell of it
Use the JamesTurnerYT trait generator
BnB Challenges:
Random Number Generator: to select world and lot
Debating a shell challenge or a random number generator decides my room size or budget.
Stay tuned for updates.
Let's get chaotic 😉

Misfits AU: Werewolf!Erich Pt6
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | ????
((I had... so much problem with this bit, and I really don’t like it still, but... whatever, time to post it. I hope y’all can enjoy it?))
Ichigo chewed on his lip and tried to gather his nerve to allow the change to take him all over again. He didn’t /want/ to try, didn’t want to suffer through the disorientation all over again, but… but maybe this time it wouldn’t be like that. Rerugen’s change hadn’t seemed to affect him terribly, and now Ichigo thought he knew /why/—
(He still didn’t want to.)
Rerugen waited patiently for him to decide, leaving the decision in Ichigo’s hands yet again.
It was the lack of expectation that helped him gather his confidence, along with the hope of never having to face the same sort of disorientation again.
Ichigo closed his eyes and concentrated, turning his attention inward. Rerugen was right, it /was/ easy to figure out how to trigger the change. The urge was there lurking just within reach. He reached—
Power /rushed/ through his body—
(He should not fight. He should. Not. Fight.)
(Let the power do what it /wanted/—)
He knew what to look for. Knew how Rerugen’s power had felt—
His senses faded and swirled together in a blur, a cacophony of sensation that /snapped/ into abrupt focus a heartbeat later. Ichigo shook his head and stumbled into Uryuu’s legs.
“Alright?” Uryuu asked softly, braced to take Ichigo’s weight. He reached down and sank his hand into Ichigo’s ruff, fingers scratching the back of his head. “That seemed smoother.”
Ichigo nodded and leaned further into Uryuu, relaxing into the touch and taking the time to gather himself. It was still strange to observe the world from such a different height but at least this time he didn’t feel like the world was writhing beneath his paws.
Rerugen was watching him, head cocked to one side and ears standing at attention, mouth slightly open and his tail wagging. He seemed… pleased, Ichigo supposed, and content to sit and wait.
“Want me to call you back?” Uryuu asked after giving Ichigo time to orient.
Ichigo considered the offer then /whuffed/ in agreement. It had been easier, but Rerugen was right; more practice would only make it easier still. Now that he had the feel of it he was certain he could master what Rerugen had shown him and eliminate the last of his disorientation.
Uryuu reluctantly untangled his hand from Ichigo’s ruff and murmured, “Kurosaki Ichigo.”
Fade. Blur. Cacophony and /snap/—
Ichigo shuddered and took an unsteady breath, pressing his suddenly-human shoulder into Uryuu’s waist and bowing his head. Uryuu’s hand settled back on his head, a grounding touch that helped settle his mind back into his body. “That was… easier,” he admitted with a glance up at Rerugen who had turned his head to the side, giving him the illusion of privacy. “I… think I have it.”
Before Uryuu could respond, Ichigo mentally reached /down-and-in/—
Fade. Blur. /Snap/—
He /whuffed/ in excitement and stood to give himself a good shake, body for once feeling /natural/ moments after his change. Uryuu’s fingers tightened in his ruff as soon as he stilled and he turned to stare up at his pack-brother in question, head cocked and ears pricked forward.
“I shouldn’t be surprised,” Uryuu told him with the faintest of smiles. His tone was both relieved and pleased, making Ichigo stand straighter, pleased to have pleased Uryuu. “You always were adept at learning when you saw the way.”
Ichigo took a couple of steps away from Uryuu’s support, pleased when he neither stumbled nor swayed. His wolf-shape was almost /comfortable/ without the lingering disorientation and nausea he’d grown resigned to. Everything was still a bit too sharp, a bit too /loud/, but… spending time in this form would fix that. He’d not given himself the chance to really practice as a wolf, especially when so many moons interfered with school or sleep, but now…
Maybe he could learn now.
Rerugen approached slowly, ears upright and tail wagging. He was… happy?
Ichigo tilted his head and stared at the wolf-shaped man, trying to understand Rerugen’s intent. Ichigo was almost certain Rerugen was happy — dogs wagged their tails when pleased, didn’t they? And the upright ears were… close to the way Yoruichi’s ears would perk up when she was happy, so… maybe that was similar.
He’d gotten used to reading /Yoruichi’s/ body language as a cat, but he could already tell that Rerugen didn’t use the same set. Did that mean that /Ichigo’s/ body language was confusing the man as well? And without being able to speak…
Ichigo shook himself again, trying to discard the dizzying questions. They’d manage.
Rerugen /whuffed/ in something like amusement and closed the gap between them, still moving cautiously. His scent was… /warm/ was the best word Ichigo could find for it, like Uryuu’s had been from the very start and the rest of his pack had become in short order.
Rerugen smelled like a /friend/.
(Why already? He knew why Uryuu had clung so close so quick, but Rerugen—)
(Ah.)
Ichigo relaxed, content with his read on Rerugen at last. They weren’t going to be betrayed, or ridiculed, or anything of the sort; Rerugen was desperate for even the illusion of a larger pack, and underneath it all he was as genuine in his interest in teaching as he’d sounded.
He swayed in place when Rerugen nudged his flank and gave an exasperated /whoof/ when he shot Ichigo a — playful? Probably playful — look.
Rerugen did it again but harder, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
“Making friends?” Uryuu asked in amusement.
Ichigo growled playfully at Uryuu then snapped at Rerugen in exasperation when the man did it again. Except that only seemed to encourage him because he darted back a few paces, stretched out his forelegs in something akin to a bow, then barreled right back in.
He yelped and twisted away from the unexpected charge, barely avoiding being knocked flying as he ducked behind Uryuu’s legs and shot Rerugen a sour look.
Uryuu laughed and dug his fingers into Ichigo’s ruff once again. “I think he wants to play,” Uryuu suggested with a hint of disbelief, then laughed again as Rerugen’s ears perked forward and he bobbed his head in imitation of a human nod.
/Play?/ Ichigo wanted to protest. He wasn’t— they didn’t— there was no time for /playing/. He needed to learn—
Rerugen took advantage of his hesitation. Darted around Uryuu’s legs. Sent Ichigo sprawling with a shoulder-check. Leaned in and /snapped/ his jaws inches from Ichigo’s throat—
His confusion cleared. He twisted. Scrambled up. Knocked Rerugen aside and /over/—
Rerugen eeled away like he was made of shadows instead of flesh. Snapped his jaws in Ichigo’s face and turned to /run/.
Recovering his balance took Ichigo longer than he liked, limbs tangling up and brain refusing to cooperate. But the instant he had sorted himself out he bolted after the other wolf.
/This/ was the sort of practice he needed!

Public Domain Day 2021
Yesterday on January 1st was public domain day, the day when new things become public domain. So as I did last year I’ll feature some of the highlights of what has become public domain.
In Europe (and other areas with life of author + 70 years copyright)
The entire bibliography of Edgar Rice Burroughs, however do keep in mind to not use Tarzan or John Carter in the titles because ERB Inc owns the trademark for those.
George Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984 are now public domain, along with all his other works.
George Bernard Shaw´s bibliography
In Canada, Japan, New Zealand (and other areas with life of author + 50 years copyright)
Erich Maria Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front
Guy Endore´s The Werewolf of Paris
All Perry Mason books written by Eric Stanley Gardner
In the United States
In the United States all things published before 1976 retain copyright for 95 years. All films, books and songs published in 1925 are now public domain including:
F.Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby
Sinclair Lewis´ Arrowsmith
P. G. Wodehouse’s Carry On, Jeeves
Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway
T.S Elliot’s The Hollow Men
Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush
You can now find a lot of these over at Project Gutenberg or the Internet Archive.

Hauntober prompt- Moonlight
It was Frostfall, and the fog-shrouded forest was eerily quiet. The light of a full Masser filtered through the trees above and the mist surrounding her, casting a wash of gray over everything it touched.
Finished with her run, Aela crept through the forest and reveled in the cold air against her thick fur. Skjor would have loved it; there was a light carpet of snow on the ground, yet the trees above still held on to their fiery leaves.
True, the mist deadened the smells of the forest, but it was a wonderful cloak all the same.
She waded through the weeds and leaves lining the forest floor toward her favorite place: a clearing with a small waterfall, surrounded by pine, oak, and maple trees. There, she'd revert to her human form and bask in the cold until it stung, then turn and prowl the forest once again as a werewolf.
Aela peered at the forest in front of her and crouched low. There were torchbugs in the clearing up ahead; the adults were all dead, this time of year. Intrigued, she crept forward, keeping her steps as quiet as possible.
She sniffed the air and furrowed her brow. There was a familiar smell here, but she couldn't quite place it.
The mist cleared a little, and Aela stepped into the clearing.
Erich?
She reeled back. What in the world was she looking at?
The naked man sitting on a rock in the middle of the stream looked like Erich, but nobody had seen even a hint of him in many months. He looked odd; his eyes were strange. His nails were overgrown and out of control–
No, those were claws. They were a little like her–
Aela slowly backed away. She was so startled to see him that she forgot she was in her werewolf form. Good that she didn't startle him, at least.
She shuddered, averted her gaze, and turned toward the forest. His eyes were frightening.
“You might as well stay, Aela.”
She froze in panic. How did he know who she was?
“We both saw something we shouldn't see,” Erich said. “Now that it's out in the open, I don't see why we couldn't visit.”
Aela hesitated.
“I see your soul,” he said. “So that's how I know. If you want to pretend this didn't happen, that's fine, too. But you're curious.”
She turned back toward the clearing. This was still Erich; he was unnerving, but she didn't really have any room to talk, being a werewolf. Nonetheless, Aela had the feeling that whatever he was, it was far more strange than a werewolf. She sniffed the air again and attempted to place what he was.
“I'll put some clothes on if it bothers you, but didn't you and Skjor sit around like this?”
Alright, that was a bit too strange; it had to have been a guess. There was no way he knew everything about her hunting time with Skjor.
Aela took a step toward the water and sighed. She closed her eyes, allowed her beast blood to recede, and slowly opened her eyes.
Nope, he was still unnerving to look at.
Erich stared at her for a second then patted the rock next to him.
“I can put a tiny fire rune here,” he said. “I didn't expect you'd lose the transformation so far from home, but you do have that ring, there.”
Aela glanced down at the Ring of Hircine on her finger. It looked like such an ordinary ring that she was surprised that he knew what it was from such a distance.
She wondered if he was a vampire, but she quickly dismissed the notion. Aside from the fact that vampires smelled like blood and death, she saw Erich go out in the sun all the time.
Aela stared at him and frowned.
“Are you a daedra?” she asked.
Erich laughed, and Aela couldn't help but chuckle. That was a bit of a foolish guess.
“Yep! You've got me!”
Her blood ran cold. Erich was still laughing.

@writers-block-help-everything wanted to have a master post of my current library collection, so here you go, with photos so the books will be easier to find if any of you wants to read/buy them:
1. Spellbound; Magic, Ritual and Witchcraft (Ashmolean Museum, England); Basic book of spells, witchcraft and different rituals in history. Lots of pictures!
2. A History of Medieval Christianity; Prophesy and Order ( Jeffrey Burton Russell & Doughlas W. Lumsden)
3. The Complete Book of Devils and Demons (Dr. Leonard R. N. Ashley). A good beginner book with lots of simple information from here and there if you want to study devilish monsters throughout the globe.
4. Witchcraft in the Middle Ages (Jeffrey Burton Russell)
5. The Prince of Darkness (Jeffrey Burton Russell) This books contains all basic information of 4 earlier books from Jeffrey Burton Russell about the Devil.
5. Satan - The Early Christian Tradition (Jeffrey Burton Russell) A book of how early Christian traditions saw the evil and the God in the world,
6. Lucifer - The Devil In The Middle Ages (Jeffrey Burton Russell) A book of how medieval church and different heretic views saw the evil, the Devil and The God. Goes actually all to way to romantic era and covers a bit also Islamic views of the evil. My fave books.
7. The Devil - Perceptions of Evil from Antiquity to Primitive Christianity (Jeffrey Burton Russell) How non-Christian religions and early Christians saw the Devil and the God
1. Medieval Punishments - The Illustrated History of Torture (William Andrews). This book was published in late 19th century, and it covers ONLY medieval English punishments. It’s not so much about torture than about criminal convictions. Super easy to read and very interesting! Is definitely not as horrible as it sounds by the title.
2. The Secret History of Lucifer (Lynn Picknett). This is more of an occult book to me than history book, but it covers historical religious views of Lucifer. It’s more like one woman’s manifest I think?
3. Witchcraft - Demons, Folklore and Superstition (Lois Martin). VERY basic notebook sized book of the subject.
4. The Witch-hunt in the Early Modern Europe (Brian P. Levack)
5. History of the Devil (Gerald Messadié)
6. Male Witched in Early Modern Europe (Lara Apps & Andrew Gow)
7. The Witch - A History of Fear from Ancient Times to the Present (Ronald Hutton) This book cover witches from all around the world, so it is very throughout book. Ronald Hutton is one of the leading experts of the history of witchcraft.
8. The Werewolf - Montague Summers. This book covers history of werewolves. Unfortunately, it is very hard to read and the author HAS NOT translated any sources to English. If the source is in Latin, it is in Latin in the book too. Like “Pope XXXNJN 3 said; Latinlatinlatinlatinlatinlatin; and he was absolutely right, as German pastor YYYUT added 5 years later; Germangermangermangerman”.
9. Life in the Medieval City (Frances Gies & Josept Gies)
Then, some obscure monster and paranormal books!
1. The Beast of Bray Road - Tailing Wisconsin’s Werewolf (Linda S. Godfrey) A book covering the famous Bray road Dogman sighting in early 90′s and how things proceed. Linda was a reporter in the area when the incident happen and it started her 25 years long career as a dogman researcher. She’s the world’s leading dogman specialist now.
2. The Michigan Dogman - Werewolves and Other Unknown Canines Across the USA (Linda S. Godfrey) This book contains from cover to cover eyewitness testimonials of Dogmen and other upright walking canines in the USA.
3. Real Wolfmen - True Encounters in Modern America (Linda S. Godfrey) Another super exciting book from Linda covering from cover to cover eyewitness testimonials of Dogmen and other upright walking canines in the USA.
4. American Monsters - A History of Monster Lore, Legend and Sightings in America (Linda S. Godfrey). This book has different short sections for different cryptids in America, together with eyewitness testimonials of said cryptids.
5. The Art of Psychic Protection (Judy Hall) This is a literal handbook how to protect yourself from different energies, people and spirit when you work with spiritual things and encounter spirits.
6. Black Eyed Children (David Weatherly) Black eyed children are a fairly new and rarely encountered cryptid/spirit type, but they are super chilling. They randomly appear and ask to get inside cars, houses, buildings, really trying to coo people to allow them to get inside. This book contains eyewitness cases of these kids with black eyes. I have yet to determine myself what these kids are. My assumption is a demonic entity based on the eyewitnesses’ stories.
7. Poltergeist Over Scotland (Geoff Holder) Recorded poltergeist cases from Scotland.
8. An Exorcist Explains the Demonic (Fr. Gabriele Amorth). This is a personal view of demonic activity and exorcism written by world’s leading Catholic exorcist Father Amorth. This is thus 100% purely Catholic view only. Not what I personally share with Father Amorth but I wanted to understand Catholic’s point of the view of the phenomena.
9. Our Occulted History - Do the Global Elite Conceal Ancient Aliens? (Jim Marrs). I’m not a fan of conspiracy theories. I like to study them occasionally as they are super great source for inspiration and story setting, right? Now, ancient aliens theory has been a favorite of mine since I stumbled upon Erich von Däniken’s books about them when I was 14 (I have 3 of his books) Many spiritual books talk about the same subject, so I do fall into the category of believers, even when I didn’t swallow every single case and evidence. Marss was one of the leading conspiracy theory spoke persons, especially about aliens, so I’m curious to read about his thoughts.

Covert operations - Operation in Rivne, Nikolai Ivanovich Kuznetsov alias "Grachov" one of the "Asssasins" of the NKVD. One of the main tasks of the "Liquidators" was to eliminate the Reichskommissar for Ukraine, Erich Koch. To this end, an operational agent of the NKVD, N. I. Kuznetsov, was parachuted to join them on August 26, 1942. A little over two months later, Kuznetsov made his first visit to Rivne, the Ukrainian capital under the guise of Lieutenant Paul Siebert. To perfect his already remarkable mastery of German, Kuznetsov had spent several weeks posing as a German prisoner of war in NKVD camp 27 located in the Moscow suburbs of Krasnogorsk. Two attempts against Koch were aborted due to the high level of his personal security. However, he was not the only objective, nor the only purpose of Kuznetsov's work. During every visit he made to Rivne disguised as Siebert, Kuznetsov was also gathering information. During the spring of 1943, Kuznetsov confirmed that the Germans planned to attack in Kursk and that Hitler's command post, codenamed "Werewolf," for the Eastern Front was in Vinnitsa. On Moscow's orders, Kuznetsov was instructed to execute Koch's lieutenant, Paul Dargel. Dargel lived in Schloss Strasse in Rivne, a heavily guarded residential area reserved for German officials. Poles and Ukrainians were not allowed in this area for security reasons. A local partisan informant, working for the administration, had informed Kuznetsov of Dargel's daily routine and it was decided to carry out the mission on September 20, 1943. When he left his office to go home at 2:30 p.m. Kuznetsov would assassinate him. Kuznetsov had been told that Dargel was always accompanied by his deputy, who carried a red leather briefcase. In addition, when he left the Reichskomissariat he was always preceded by a military policeman who would check that the road was clear. Arriving just before the appointed time in a light brown Opel captain's car, Kuznetsov did not have to wait long. Coming out of the car, Kuznetsov saw the two men plus the briefcase and, as they turned to hear footsteps, fired three shots at each man. Their driver, NKVD operative Nikolai Strutinski, pressed the accelerator and escaped at full speed. Two days later, local newspapers reported the incident. It was then that Kuznetsov, at the "Liquidators" base, discovered that it was not Dargel and his assistant who had been executed, but a high-ranking economist, Hans Gehl. A month later, Kuznetsov's second attempt against Dargel, this time with anti-tank grenades, succeeded in hospitalizing him with severe leg injuries that led to the amputation of both. Operation of execution of a military commander and his lieutenant by NKVD intelligence officer Nikolai Ivanovich Kuznetsov, alias "Grachov". For this purpose he adopted the identity of Oberleutnant Paul Wilhem Siebert (prisoner of the Soviets), officer of the Wehrmacht Transport Corps, holder of two Iron Crosses. For months the false officer lived with the German occupiers without being discovered, murdering dozens of German military chiefs and political officials. He approached the victim, even in broad daylight and in public places, confirmed his identity, announced that he was condemned to death and shot him at point-blank range with his standard pistol. His victims also included judges and collaborators. In total, Kuznetsov is credited with more than 20 assassinations of military and high-ranking officials. However, he missed what could have been his most important victim: Alfred Rosenberg, minister for the Occupied Eastern Territories and one of the main ideologues of Nazism, who visited Rivne in the summer of 1943. Another important person who also escaped the execution of the "Liquidator", as he was also known, was the Ukrainian Gauleiter, Erich Koch, who had an office in Rivne which was the official capital of occupied Ukraine and where there was also the military headquarters and the Gestapo headquarters for the whole Ukraine. It is also attributed to him that he managed to prevent the assassination of the Allied leaders during the Tehran conference, which was supposed to perpetrate a command op under Otto Skorzeny's orders. On March 8, 1944, he is killed, attempting to cross the front line with two comrades by members of the UPA (Ukrayinska Povstanska Armia, Ukrainian Insurgent Army), a nationalist group that fought both the Germans and the Soviets who mistook him for a German. https://ift.tt/2Oj6XwX
