KS Craft Brewer's Exposition

Yesterday Radius Brewing Company attended the KS Brewer's Expo in Lawrence. The boys (Gus and JJ) have toured most of the other microbreweries in the state, but this was my first official out-of-town appearance as the First Lady of Radius. We took JJ's pale, IPA, porter, and Jose. Jose is an amber already with milk sugars, brown sugar, smoked malt, and jalepenos. It's not our best beer and it's not our favorite beer but it's different and it put us on the map. Of 1400 people in attendance, many said "we were told to try Jose." After tasting, most said "It's different." That's just it. JJ was wise enough to notice last year as a volunteer that people remember weird beers. Novelty is key to popularity. This morning eating breakfast on Mass at the Global Cafe, two wait staffers recognized Gus and I and asked if we were from that brewery with the Jose. Weird. Novel. Popular. Memorable.
