talked about this today elsewhere as well but im so glad I'm never having kids for many reasons but in part bc it means the only aspects of my day to day life that I have to deal with getting like aggressively gendered in are work drinks and haircuts... work drinks bc I'm in like the sexual division of labor between tech/editing editorial side of the company I'm at so a lot of the socializing is other people superficially relating to you "as a woman" which is blegh but haircuts! how I despise haircuts. there's the "ask you your pronouns maybe" vibe place up the fancy street nearish me but their prices start at like £70. GET REAL. and even then thats no guarantee they might try to do the weirdass ~afab bonding~ ~women and femmes~ routine with you which is just the same shit!! booo gender
