Well first there's the ahaha they're both blue in the dream world that my cracktheory is based on but also when u start looking at the nightmare creatures you actually get more parallels

Both of them are entangled w the nightmare king n the other nightmare creatures in a way the other characters aren't (night hunter is an outlier n should not be counted)

For lunia spoilers but she basically created the nightmare king n by extension all the nightmare creatures we don't know what she thinks about the creatures but the nightmare king was her best friend

And for logan well who does the nightmare king decide to manipulate to get what he wants? Him he's the person that starts befriending the creatures (well mostly sneak) instead of beefing on sight

He's the one they use to spy on the others n he basically turns into a monster which it's not really clear what he turns into but based on the others reactions when they first see his transformation I'd say he probably resembles a nightmare creatures to some extent

HELLO TEA ANON WELCOME BACK TO THE HUNGER AU SHOW

... i should probably make a masterlist of this au at some point. Anyway.

I've been thinking a lot about worldbuilding and how Players form, and just. Players in general?? Which, in an au thats specifically about a Watcher, that might seem a little silly. But i like to think about what the general baseline is seen as, to really dig deep into the differences between them!!

For Players, i think theres two general ways they come into being-- spawning in, or being born. Obviously the second one is a familiar concept so we dont need to talk about that, but spawning i think is actually more common for Players than being born. I imagine its a bit like new stars forming-- bits of code split off from the Greater Code and coalesce, forming all the components needed to make a Player. There's no infancy stage for spawned Players-- while some might spawn in younger than others, they generally tend to be young adults.

Im honestly thinking that, when Players first spawn, new servers do too. Singleplayer, of course; their first spawn and first spawnpoint, a protective cocoon from the harshness of the in between. This is where a spawned Player learns the difference between breathing and becoming, and where they acquaint themselves with the rules of the world around them. This is their casting off point-- eventually, most of them outgrow their first world and move onto newer ones, some multiplayer, some single, some hardcore, some modded. And most don't return, either, and the server is eventually recycled back into the Greater Code by one of its cosmic decomposers (eg: viruses).

The other thing im thinking about when it comes to Players is how they look when they spawn in. The thing about Player code is that there's layers. You have the type that's surface level, which dictates what your appearance looks like, and then the deeper code in charge of things like memories, personality, stats, etc. Because code is so scrambled in the beginning of a Player's spawn, the surface code is completely randomized!!! Players can look like anything at all, anyone at all, and can even have non-human traits from the outset. I also think this surface code can be fairly easily manipulated; learning to play with your own surface code is about the same level of difficulty as learning to code your own website, and occurs with a similar amount of regularity (which is to say, it's definitely not uncommon, but there are some people more adept at it than others, and a definite learning curve at the start). Playing with your surface code means you can make yourself look like anything, by give yourself new physical traits or just modify existing ones. It's usually recommended to do this with a spotter, though-- someone experienced with surface code who can look over your changes before you implement them to make sure there aren't any glaring mistakes, and step in if something glitches or you need help.

So yeah those are my current hunger au thoughts with regards to worldbuilding!! I'm also still picking at what Listeners are like, as well as their and Watchers' ecological niche in the universe-- I'm tempted to say both have a much more brittle, and less adaptable code structure, which makes their type of feeding an even more vital and necessary part of their survival. Gotta keep that code from deteriorating, after all!! Anyway thank u for asking, i am always happy to receive hunger au questions, and if anyone has specific questions they want to ask that is great and often gives me a good direction to jump off of when explaining stuff :]

hello!!!!!!! augh ik i havent been posting brawl stars content as of late, very sorry for that!!! I hear you! I queue it up sometimes when working on writing because it gets my blood pumping just right for a nice battle scene (wanna guess what I was listening to while writing The Inner Warriors?)

TobyMac is great! NF can be good, and I have a couple songs I love of theirs, but in general I don't tend to listen to rap style music, as it doesn't appeal to me very much. It can be really good! But I have to be in the mood, and I rarely am.

I listen to most genres of music though! Owl City is always a favorite (combined with a good sunbeam, it turns me into a melty little puddle of sleepy/happy Idiot LOL), and if you like Christian music,(since a lot of these artists are played on Christian Radio) I'd highly recommend Francesca Battistelli! She's got a lot of different vibes in her different albums, but her first (A Hundred More Years) is the most fun, I think. Although, her album If We're Honest is pretty good too!

I've also been listening to a lot of Josh Turner recently, since I managed to make it to one of his concerts in the last few years, and now can't get the music out of my head, lol. The Judds too, actually, although that's more because I grew up on Wynonna's voice, same with Randy Travis and Allen Jackson.

Musicals are a weakness, so I listen to plenty of those. It takes a while to get interested in a new one, but Jeremy Jordan's voice never fails to be fire, so I'm willing to try some I wouldn't.

Same thing with most jazz! Michael Bublé, Cody Fry, and Kaden MacKay tend to spot up every once in a while. I don't always want to hear them, but when I do play them it's got every part of me singing along and wanting to dance. Harry Connick Jr too, actually, although it's been a bit.

I really like folk music too, so The Crane Wives, Florence and the Machine, The Oh Hellos, and Julie Fowlis tend to decorate my playlists when I'm wanting something familiar and yet stirring. Hello My Old Heart from The Oh Hellos is quite dear to me honestly.

I tend to forget what music artists I like if I haven't listened to them in a while, but it means I have all the more fun rediscovering them again later!

I don't find that weird. Most of my kintypes are predators, or at least eat meat. As Ula D, the mansion Frankie and I inhabited had a rat problem, and either Frankie would catch them for experiments, or I would eat them, live. To this day I still crave live rats, as well as other animals like even bats (spectral bat, as I've mentioned before they eat other bats), and it's something I fight to keep control of, and I don't necessarily like talking about it, especially the rat part. I used to have a friend who was a rat therian so I feel especially guilty when admitting that. /lh

I mean, it doesn't really happen to us most of the time (the urges part), but I guess that we just have to be in the right mindset for it. /lh

The noses you draw are a little long on the face and realistic faces you want one eyeball length between the bottom of the nose and the corner of the eye, and one eyeball length from the bottom of the nose to the mouth!

It's just a tip I learned, you totally don't have to do it! /nf /gen I do love your art a lot and I think this could be the small change it needs to really pop.

the issue here is that i find i draw like this because of the faces ive been exposed to irl, primarily my own and my family. that suggestion's standard for 'realistic' is not able to apply to my real life face LMAO im absolutely aware and try to make a conscious effort to vary it up bc obv i cant draw every character subconsciously looking like me but. man. please just watch before u peddle very general art tricks as the 'anatomically correct' way because people without perfectly proportioned faces arent anatomically incorrect

That is very interesting to hear! Personally I had only gotten into monster high in November 2022, but recently I did leave the fandom, too much toxicity. Funnily enough my special interest is Draculaura, I have 17 pieces of merchandise from her, and my prized possession is the Wave One Signature drac. This special interest ended up helping me find out several integral parts of my identity, and around a year and a month after initially starting my collection, I realized I was fictionkin. Frankie I didn't discover until recently but my other fictotype I discovered in December. I'm an AU kin, both she and Frankie were from the same AU which is extremely intriguing. I find it very interesting to hear one of your alters is a Spectra fictionkin, it seems day by day I am uncovering more monster high fictionkins that I thought I would never hear of, if that makes sense. The kin tags are quite lonely, there's one Draculaura fictionkin I see often and I know she is the same being each time because, well, little secret, that's me.
