authors note: OH HOW I LOVE THIS ONEEE!! i hope iâm feeding you guys well this week with these fics hehe!! IM WRITING A FREAKY ONE FOR THIS NEXT SO STAY TUNED!! love you love you <3
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
yuta okkotsu was the biggest player and frat boy to ever plague your college campusâ having parties literally every other night and trashing the absolute fuck out of his frat house after every single one, living in the privileges of popularity as he was without a doubt the hottest man there.
he absolutely relished in his reputation, loved the attention, loved the stares he got, and had a body count that absolutely shot through the roof in numbers.
and yuta was quite literally a typical frat boy. he was loud and obnoxious, the most stubborn hot headed man to ever exist on the face of the planet, passed the time playing beer pong for fun and drinking, and had girls practically at his feet, him never having to work for anything to get in his bed and fuck.
until he met you.
you had timidly walked into one of his frat parties one night, shy, cutely nerdy, a little scared and absolutely drop dead gorgeous, your energy an entirely different one from his own as he watched you a little too much throughout the night, rehearsing his perfected plan of getting girls into bed with him as he finally spotted you alone in the kitchen after a while, approaching you.
yuta flashed you an attractive polished smile as he leaned up against the kitchen counter, practically cornering you in as you eyed him alarmingly.
âhey, he sipped at his beer. âwhatâs your name?â
you awkwardly shifted, wondering where the hell your best friend was as the biggest player youâve ever heard of was talking to you.
ây-y/nâŚâ you stammered, your gaze barely looking at him but giving a small smile through your nervousness nonetheless.
âpretty name for a pretty girl,â he hummed. âyouâve never come to my parties before, have you?â
you shook your head no, your doe eyes finally peering up at him.
âwelcome then!â he chirped smoothly and leaned closer to you, his breath faintly smelling of alcohol. âyou here by yourself?â
âno iâm with a friend, actually.â you laughed awkwardly, your cheeks red with embarrassment but smiling politely through your discomfort, not wanting to offend him in any way.
yuta nodded, his eyes scanning the crowd. âdid you lose them?â
âiâ i guess soââ
âyou can stick with me then.â he shrugged, a sly smile on his face as he sweet talked you, it slightly faltering when he noticed how uncomfortable you looked, but carrying on anyways. âyou wanna head upstairs? maybe we canââ
âno thank you.â
he paused.
no?
âno?â
he was yuta okkotsu. no girl has ever told him no before.
you shook your head at him and gave him a sugary smile, your tone kind and polite as you started to walk away from him. âiâm sorry, i think i see my friend over there though! thank you for keeping me company, i hope it wasnât too much trouble!â
he watched you walk away then in your tiny little skirt, and he felt stupidly offended. absolutely stupidly offended as he slightly scoffed and shook his head, taking a swig of his beer, his body and mind literally glitching with the foreign feeling of rejection.
yuta tossed his empty beer bottle lazily in a black garbage bag and stuffed his hands into his pockets, his long legs already pulling him over to the beer pong table in the living room, opting to forgetting the entire encounter he had with you altogether and shaking it off.
except he couldnât. he couldnât shake it off.
his brain was buzzing and utterly reeling over the thought of your timid nature and soft spoken words and pretty pretty face from that point forward, thoughts that aggravated him to no end that bubbled up every time he ate, slept, was in class, and did basically anything.
he didnât know why it was happening. he didnât know why you took over his every fucking thought as he only interacted with you for like five minutes. but your aura was different. so poised, so shy and gentle, and it was like a red string was physically pulling him towards you everywhere you went.
yuta saw you around campus a lot more after that, you sticking out like a sore thumb and blinding his vision whenever you walked past him, your smile sweet and respectful towards him that lasted only a millisecond as you walked down further, his eyes watching you over his shoulder, soft.
you conversations with him were nothing but polite and casual as he tried to talk to you again and again, your body language guarded and careful, but your voice like silky honey, speaking to him with more kindness than he deserved.
yuta never seemed to be able to get past the invisible wall you built in front of him.
âa girl like her isnât gonna go for a guy like you, yuta.â one of his frat brothers muttered to him, having been fed up with yutaâs moping and grumbling around the house ever since he saw you.
âand why not.â he gruffed, his arms tightly crossed over his chest as he leaned back on the couch.
âbecause sheâs nothing like us.â he emphasized. âsheâs a nerd, respects herself, is way too good for you, and would never let herself waste time with a guy of your reputation.â
his frat brother patted him heavily on the shoulder. âjust go back to the ones you usually go for. theyâre easy.â
yuta only rolled his eyes and stood, but he really couldnât deny what he had said. you were too good for him, way too good for him, his life completely mismatched from yoursâ paths never meant to cross as he solemnly watched you from afar, wanting you to smile at him the way you smiled at others, wanting you to talk about your precious nerdy interests and your studies with him like you do with your friends, and wanting you to just simply look at him longer than the usual casual hello you gave him.
but you never did.
in an attempt to try and talk to you again without seeming like an absolute fucking stupid creep like last time (something he quickly realized), he started throwing parties at his frat literally every single night in hopes of you showing up, scanning the crowd and sulking in a corner when he couldnât find you, the bags under his eyes growing darker and darker with every time you didnt make an appearance.
he tried to go back to his old ways and hook up with the girls he usually did, tried to bury you in the back of his mind and go back to before, but he just couldnât, his mind foggy and preoccupied with thoughts of you that invaded his every neuron, making him kiss his hook ups back lazily or straight up just cancel on themâ stopping all together in the end.
it had been months, and yuta sat bored out of his mind on the living room couch during another one of his parties, not a single drop of alcohol in his system as music pumped and drummed through the frat that made his headache ten times worse.
these everyday parties were pointless.
he sat up and trudged to the kitchen, pushing past his friends for a beer until he froze.
there you stood, finally, leaning against the kitchen counter all by yourself, just like how you were when he first saw you.
his eyes flew open and he quickly smoothed over his white t-shirt with his hands, heart hammering against his chest so hard that it traveled down to his ribcage as he approached you, internally freaking the fuck out.
âhey y/n,â he greeted quietly and calm, trying his absolute hardest to convey sincerity towards you. âhow are you doing?â
your eyes snapped to his and you leaned back a bit, but smiled. âhi yuta! iâm doing okay. how are you?â
he could practically see the wall you had in front of him, your posture timid and cautious, and his eyes only grew more insecure.
âiâm good! do youâ do you want a drink? or something? i couldââ
âoh itâs okay yuta! iâm fine,â you answered shyly, a grin on your breathtaking face.
yuta gnawed on his thumb, looking around the kitchen for something, anything that could fix the image you had on him.
the fridge.
âdo you umââ he walked over to the fridge, almost stumbling over his own shoes as he opened it. âdo you want maybe apple juice? orâ or i have chocolate milk? or sunny d i drink like an entire dozen a day butââ
you giggled.
his head snapped over to you and watched your pearly smile, shining just for him for a moment, his shoulders slowly relaxing.
yuta sheepishly scratched the back of his neck and laughed along with you.
âsunny d would be great!â
he stared blankly, and then quickly nodded. âoâokay! yes sunny dââ
he ransacked through his fridge, knocking over several cans of energy drinks and beers before he finally found the sunny dâs in the back, tearing one out from the pack and closing the fridge.
âhere you go.â
your cheeks glowed pink as you shyly took the small bottle from his hands, a cute wobbly smile on your face that made yutaâs chest clench.
precious.
he wiped his sweaty hands on his jeans.
âi wanted to apologizeââ he strained out. âfor the way i spoke to you when we first met.â
you stared at him.
âit was never my intention to make you uncomfortable, and i acted like a complete dingbat with the things i said, so i justââ he scuffed his shoe against the kitchen floor. âiâm really sorry.â
you were quiet, big doe eyes blinking up at him in shockâ until your frame gently deflated, eyes softening for him.
âyou donât have to apologize yuta honestly.â your soft voice soothed him, a sound he craved to hear everyday since the moment he met you. âi donât think any less of you if thatâs what youâre worried about.â
âyou donât?â
you shook your head cutely, beaming. âi donât.â
he felt like he could breathe again.
your invisible wall slowly and gradually crumbled away the more you got to know yuta after that. he was still a little flirt, but only a little flirt with you, and he still did his frat boy job duties everyday, but he toned down the parties massively and stopped playing beer pong and drinking just for fun.
it would be a lie if you said you werenât hesitant about yuta to begin with. you knew of his reputation and the risks you ran with befriending him the way you wereâ you well aware that he was trying to win you over, but you saw something different in him that he didnât show to anyone else, and you trusted him, the goodness of your heart always giving people the benefit of the doubt.
he was trying his absolute hardest for you and changing his bad traits, wanting to become a person that deserved to be with you as he listened to you ramble on and on about your classes and your studies all of the time, him smiling adoringly at you because he genuinely loved so much hearing you talk to him and listen to anything you had to sayâ and yuta was falling practically head over heels over the way you gushed about your little nerdy interests, your eyes shimmering every time.
âand whatâs this one called?â he asked softly.
you glanced over. âthatâs the corpse flower! they only bloom for two to three days every two to three years.â
âonly for two to three days?!â he whispered harshly, the ambiance in the botanical garden quiet and serene as you both observed the different kinds of breeds, flowers being your specialty of knowledge.
and he wanted to know all about it, even though he had a pamphlet in his hand that told him everything.
he wanted to hear it from you.
âand this one?â
he pointed to a vibrant scarlet red flower.
âthatâs the cardinal flower. they attract little bees and hummingbirds!â
your words were gentle and polite, your eyes sparkling at all of the different flowers in front of you.
âoo! and this oneââ you stopped suddenly, slowly retracting your hand and looking at him bashfully, your cheeks redder than ever.
yutaâs eyebrows furrowed. âwhat? whyâd you stop?â he looked to where you had been staring. âwhat about this one?â
âsorry!â you sputtered. âi felt like i was getting carried away and talking way too muchâŚâ
you laughed it off, but yuta only shook his head.
âno you werenât. you werenât at all.â
you peered up at him shyly.
âyou can talk about anything you want with me wherever we are, y/n. i like it when you explain to me these things, or anything you know really.â he ruffled your hair. âi like listening to you.â
your cheeks adorned a pinky shade as you took in what he said, and you smiled so so big then, nodding.
âso whatâs this one?â he pressed again, lightly.
the bed contained a mix of white and purple flowers, small and dainty as they swayed to and fro a bit with every breeze.
âthose are pansies,â you leaned over the railing. âi like these especially because it looks like they have another pair attached to them on the other side.â
âlike a little buddy,â yuta commented.
you laughed softly, âyeah! like a little buddy.â
he pointed to a specific pansy that had one white flower and one purple flower on the opposite side.
âthatâs you and me.â
âis it?â you grinned. âwhoâs who?â
âyouâre the white one and iâm the purple one,â yuta absentmindedly turned and grabbed your hands gently, playing with your fingertipsâ and you let him. âbecause youâre pretty and really fucking smart and way too nice to me, and iâm a douchebag and sometimes iâm a mean and scary old fart.â
you giggled loudly at his joke, shaking your head. ânuh uh. i donât agree.â
âyou donât?â he quirked an eyebrow, a silly smile on his face.
you shook your head again. âyouâre genuine yuta. really genuine. and youâre funny, you never make me feel embarrassed for the things that i love, and you make others happy!⌠sometimes.â
yuta laughed, âsometimes?â he softly placed your hands back at your sides. âyeah, youâre not wrong.â
âbut you make me happy, always.â you finished off.
his eyes lit up like a firework. âreally? so does this mean youâll finally say yes to going out with me and give me a little kiss?â
you snickered and covered your mouth, your cheeks flushed. ânuh uh.â
âaww mannn,â yuta groaned and leaned against the railing, but turned his head to the side after a few seconds and looked at you, giving a tender smile.
your eyes continued to sparkle over the flower beds in front of you, but yutaâs eyes only sparkled at the one flower in front of him.
thatâs where he started calling you flower.
âthatâs okay!â he leaned back up. âiâll keep trying.â
and boy did he try. each and every single day yuta tried as he brought you little treats from the campus cafe, or helped carry your textbooks to wherever you went, brought you neatly packaged flowers or sometimes would even pull his car over when he saw pretty ones on the side of the road, getting off and running to pluck them, handing them to you through the window with a goofy grin.
everything was bliss between you two, and your world only got brighter as you hung out with him.
but for yuta, his world got a little complicated.
his former hookups only grew sour once they found out about you, the girl yuta seemed to spend every waking hour with, completely blind sighted to the fact as they thought he wouldâve dumped you months ago already.
and his frat brothers were just bothered. yuta wasnât managing the frat like he used to before, like he was supposed to as their leader, neglecting the collective reputation they all had with him not sweet talking the entire female student body, or their parties not running every single night anymoreâ and even when they did run, yuta wasnât ever even there to begin with, he was with you, something they quickly realized.
âyou have to cut it out man,â one of them said. âthis frat is turning into a shit hole because you keep spending your time with that girlââ he stopped. âwho the fuck even is she? i mean if it was layla fine everybody knows layla butââ
âwho she is is none of your fucking business?â yuta snapped. âand just because iâm not sending girls for you to jerk your dick with doesnât mean this frat is turning into a âshit hole.ââ
some of the boys snickered.
âyou wanna run the maintenance on the house? you wanna call up the fucking board and ask for the ten thousand fucking permits we have to have for our parties every year? you think you can run that?â
ânoââ
âthen be my fucking guest.â
âokay fine, iâm sorry man.â he sighed. âwe havenât had a party in a week though, we have to throw one tomorrow and you have to be there. then ill call it even.â
yuta snorted. call it even? whatever.
he begrudgingly agreed, not wanting to be there whatsoever but softening up to the fact that maybe he was neglecting his frat a little too much.
so when he called you up that day for your nightly phone calls, yuta asked for your attendance.
âi knowâ i know parties arenât really your thingâŚâ he pursed his lips, staring up at the ceiling as he had you on speaker. âbut iâd feel a lot better if you were there⌠and you wonât be alone! youâll be with me the whole time soââ
yuta sighed. ââŚi have been neglecting the frat a little bit, and theyâre pissed at me.â
you gasped softly, âthey are?â
âyeah but i donât give a fuck.â
you both giggled.
âbut i do want to make them somewhat happy so thatâs why i gotta throw this party⌠can you come? itâs okay if not flower donât worryââ
âof course i can go yuta!â you spoke cutely over the speaker. âas long as you give me a sunny d iâll be okay.â
he laughed.
âi feel likeâŚâ you struggled. âthem being mad and whatâs happening with your frat is partially my fault yuta⌠iâm sorry.â
your voice was so worrisome, you feeling tremendous guilt on the other line as you bit your lip.
âwhat?â his eyes narrowed. âno flower, absolutely not. why would you think that?â
âbecause i keep asking you to hang out with me,â you spoke softly. âand i feel like im hogging you from your frat boy duties.â
yuta chuckled and shook his head. âi would ten times rather spend time with you than hang out with these fucking dummies.â he sat up on his bed. âi love it when you ask for me flower. keep doing it please. whatever thatâs happening with my frat strictly has to do with me okay? not you.â
you grinned on the other end, your heart giddy. âokay.â
so the night of the party, you showed up to his frat looking absolutely gorgeous in your tight little dress, his hands instantly clamming up and his throat closing at the scent of your strawberry perfume and lovely face alone.
yuta tried so hard to keep his eyes respectful and not drift down to your ass or the way your perfect tits squeezed out from the top, almost physically slapping himself when he accidentally touched you way lower than he should have when guiding you through the crowd.
everywhere he went people were greeting him or passing him shots, him quickly acknowledging everybody and downing whatever they gave him as you shyly and timidly stuck to his body (which he loved).
yuta taught you how to play beer pong that night and cheered like an absolute fucking idiot whenever you would make it in, drinking the cups for you instead as he knew you werenât the biggest fan of alcohol, which made you a little weak in the knees that he catered to you so much.
the party was actually way more fun than the both of you expected, especially for yuta, because he proudly had you on his arm as you walked throughout the house, you trying your absolute hardest to ignore the stares you got from different girls and not uttering a single word about it to yuta, not wanting to burden him and take his focus away from rejuvenating the frat and his brothers.
all was bliss, until it wasnât.
âis this her? the girl youâre always talking to?â one of his frat brothers stumbled through the crowd, the one that argued with him the day before, drunk off of his freaking mind as his eyes raked over your body like nothing.
yuta instantly picked up on that and stiffened, âyeah.â
he tried his best to swallow his annoyance and be civil as he gently placed a hand on your back and softly ushered you forward, you shy and clinging onto his shirt. âthis is y/n.â
âhâhi.â
âi see why you abandoned us for a nerd man!â he slurred. âsheâs fucking hot. never seen tits look so goodââ
your breath hitched.
âthe fuck you just say?â yuta tugged you behind him. âthe hell is wrong with you man? donât talk about her like that.â
you noticed several eyes looking over.
âwhat!â he hiccuped dumbly. âthey do! why are you getting pissedââ
âi donât give a shit!â yuta snapped. âdonât talk about her like that!â
he scoffed, swaying a little. âwhat, like you actually care about her anywaysââ
âare you fucking serious?â yuta stepped forward and you tugged him back, your eyes frantic as they scanned over the crowd forming and back to him.
âno yuta, heâs drunk itâs okayââ
âsheâs just another one for your body count, once you fuck her youâre gonna leaveââ
yuta slipped from your grasp and lunged at him, tackling him and towering over him on the ground as he fisted his shirt and jerked him up, yuta landing punch after punch to his face as the crowd yelled, cheered and recorded around you.
âyuta please!â you tried to get his attention, your chest heaving in a panic as you watched the other guy land a hit on yuta, not wanting him to get hurt over you at all whatsoever.
yuta dodged another coming hit and beat the shit out of him, grueling him down to a mere pulp as everything around him went completely white and fuzzy, his body stinging with absolute rage.
he was furious.
finally, several other frat brothers broke through the crowd and pulled yuta off of him.
âthatâs enough thatâs enough!â
âguys stop!â
quickly, you grabbed yutaâs hand once they put him aside and tugged him away from the crowd, speed walking to the front door.
âyouâre out of the fucking frat you piece of shit!â yuta practically roared behind him as you pulled him. âyouâre out!â
your trembling fingers hurriedly turned the knob and opened the door, dragging him out down the steps to the porch and across the grass, not saying a single word to him yet as he kept breathing out desperate apologies to you with every step.
once you both were a safe distance away from the house and just a tiny bit down the street, you let go of his hand and turned to him.
ââfuck im sorry iâm sorry im so sorryââ yuta shoved the base of his palms into his eyes as he threw his head back, âi just fucked everything up between us iââ
yuta knew you would never want to be with a guy like him, especially one that couldnât keep his shit together and resorted to violence the way he did minutes ago, right in front of you. a guy like that didnât deserve you. you deserved way way fucking more. and as he tore his palms away from his face, eyes looking up at the night sky, he knew he completely messed up his chances with you for good.
his head snapped down to look at you, his eyebrows pinched and eyes contorted in absolute guilt and agony as he placed his bloody knuckled hands on your little cheeks.
âiâm so fucking sorry he said those things to you like that that was not okay flower,â he emphasized. âand iâm so sorry i beat him when you told me not to iâ i just couldnât stand there when he was talking to you like that manââ
he dropped his hands and cursed, his arms going up as he covered his eyes again.
âyuta itâs okayââ
âno,â he shook his head and looked at you. âno itâs not okay. you deserve way more than this and no matter how fucking hard i try to do better, the life i built before you just doesnât let me.â
his eyes got so sad, saying words he didnât want to say, but knew he had to. âyou shouldnât be around a guy like me flower, you really shouldnât. fuckâ i donât want you around a guy like me. youâre too precious for that. iâm gonna end up screwing you over like i always doââ
âyuta stop.â you raised your voice a little, your tone one heâd never ever heard come out of your mouth, firm and serious in contrast to the sweetness you always gave him.
he shut right up.
âcome sit down with me on the curb,â you pulled his arm. âplease.â
he followed you and sat down next to you on the side walk with his head down, you taking in how yuta only had one little cut next to his eyebrow, pride funnily bubbling up in your chest as you realized how good he actually fought.
he did that. for you. he made a scene out of himself and protected your name.. for you. although you hated that he got into a fight, you knew he was trying so so hard for you, going above and beyond for a year now trying to fix himself to be a better man deserving of you, and you were immensely touched, no one having put even close to that amount of effort like he was in your life.
âyou donât get to decide what i deserve yuta.â
his eyes shot in your direction âbut as a friend iâm telling youââ
you huffed as you grabbed his cheeks and kissed him.
you kissed him.
yutaâs eyes were blown astronomically wide as you did, his heart no longer beating as he couldâve sworn he was dead right now, not believing that you were actually kissing him.
him.
you pulled apart from his lips with a smack, your hands still on his red cheeks. âa guy whoâs willing to literally change himself without me having to ask, trying to be better for me everyday without fault for literally a year, doing everything he can to make me happy? definitely deserves me yuta. you deserve me.â
you pecked his forehead softly and pulled back again, his body going numb when you did. âso what if you beat the shit out of him? i would do it too if someone was talking to you like that i donât care. iâd lose but iâd do it,â you giggled. âi didnât like the fight because i donât want you getting hurt, ever, period. but you literally scrapped him up like it was nothing, so i donât have anything to worry about.â
he shook his head and playfully rolled his eyes. âno flower thatâs the thing youâre too sweet to me, i donât want you justifyingââ
âyuta be quiet!â you whispered harshly, giving him a silly grin. âyou talk too much.â
you reached up and very very gently pecked the little cut on the side of his eyebrow, feeling a cool calming waterfall wash over his body at the feeling of your soft lips finally on him, something heâs wished upon every star for.
âyouâre so good to me yuta, truly you are. and iâm sorry itâs taken me so long to say this because iâm always nervous butââ you smiled endearingly. âi do want to go out with you, and i do want to give you little kisses. all of the time.â
yuta slowly let his forehead fall against yours, feeling like he was in a dream as the only emotion he felt at the moment was bliss. pure honeyed bliss as he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you to his chest, his face burying in your silky hair.
his hard work had finally paid off, and he had every fucking intention of keeping up that work until the day he dies, wanting you, his shy and timid precious little flower forever in his lifeâ you changing him for the better so much that he finally feels like heâs properly healthy, in more ways than one.
âweâre going out tomorrow,â he mumbled into your hair. âbright and early. iâm gonna take you to get breakfast, and then weâre gonna go to that aquarium youâve been wanting to go to for weeks now, and then iâm gonna buy you a souvenir, and then iâm gonna take you to get your nails doneââ
âyu!â you pulled back and giggled happily. âyou donât have to buy me anything my goodness. just you is enough.â
he bit his lip, smiling like a fucking idiot.
âreally?â
âreally.â
âwell too fucking bad iâm gonna do it anyways.â
he pulled you back in as you laughed and buried his face back into your hair, not wanting to break away at all, feeling like the richest douchebag in the world as he finally had you as his.
you scooted your face up then and nudged him, him pulling a part in response as you proceeded to plant another sugary kiss to his lips, yours lingering as they melted into a perfect mold against his mouth, yutaâs heart absolutely soaring, your red invisible strings close together at last.
he finally had you.
finally.
and he was never letting you go.

Hot-N-Fun - Part 1
~5k words, Roommates Series, smut
âCall it!â
âThey never work,â you chuckled as you pulled your pants back up.
âYeah but what if this time itâs real,â Mint pleaded while you washed your hands. âIâd do it if my phone wasnât dead.â
âSeriously?â you began drying your hands. âItâs scratched into the side of the menâs bathroom. How could you possibly think itâs real?â
âYou never know!â
âCall for a âhot-n-funâ time? They didnât even try. I think I can make a pretty safe guess,â you laughed as you dried your hands. âIf anything, itâs probably just some dude messing with his friend.â
âYouâre probably right,â Mint replied, staring at the scratching. âEither way, it could be funny.â
âEh, you have a point,â you pulled out your phone and started dialing the number. âFuck it.â
âThatâs my man,â Mint smiled and jumped onto your shoulder, leaning next to your ear as your phone started ringing. âI owe you a drink for this.â
âItâs actually ringing, guess itâs a real number,â you commented, pleasantly surprised, with the phone against your ear. âI doubt theyâll actually pick-â
âHello?â
It was a girl.
âOh, hello,â you stammered after spending an awkward amount of time finding your voice.
âDo I know you?â
âNo, I donât think so,â you answered, stifling your laugh as Mint stared at you in shock, his eyes threatening to bulge out of their sockets.
The girl on the phone sighed.
âDid you happen to find this number in a bathroom?â
âYeah, I figured someone put your number here to mess with you but curiosity got the best of me,â you explained. âSorry to bother you.â
âAre you a student?â
âI am.â
âTomorrow, 9 a.m., coffee. The cafe down the street.â
Mint began frantically nodding his head at you, mouthing âyesâ over and over, almost jumping on you in excitement. You couldnât help but smile at the absurdity of what was going on, but you made it this far, might as well see it out. At least, that was your excuse. In reality, you just found it incredibly hot that she told you instead of asked you.
âSure,â you answered. âHow will I know who you are?â
âIâll send you a picture.â
âAlright, Iâll see you tomorrow then.â
âCould you do me a quick favor and please scratch out the number.â
âYeah, I can do that,â you replied.
âThen Iâll see you tomorrow.â
She hung up, leaving you and Mint staring at each other.
âDid that really just happen?â Mint broke the silence first.
âIâm still not convinced this is real,â you shook your head when suddenly your phone vibrated, the message leaving you in shock once again. âHoly shit, yeah this definitely isnât real.â
âLetâs see,â Mint grabbed your phone and his jaw immediately hit the floor. âYeah thereâs no fucking way. Theyâre harvesting organs for sure.â
âIâm still going.â
âTrue, who needs two kidneys anyway,â Mint laughed, giving you back your phone.
âFuck it, this girl can have both if she wants them.â
â
âThen Iâll see you tomorrow,â Kazuha hung up her phone and turned to her roommate.
âOh my fucking God about time!â Chaewon squealed. âWhere the heck is Sakura, I need to tell her.â
âIâm not actually doing this am I?â Kazuha whined as Chaewon frantically tapped her phone screen.
âShe got a call! Tomorrow morning! Yes! I know!â Chaewon screamed into the phone. âOkay! Iâll see you soon!â
âChaewon!â Kazuha started hitting Chaewonâs arm. âI donât want to!â
âItâs going to be so fun!â Chaewon grabbed Kazuha into a hug to stop her barrage of attacks. âI canât wait to see him, what if heâs really hot?â
âI hope he is,â Kazuha sighed, falling face-first onto the bed.
âHe will be, I can tell by his voice,â Chaewon jumped onto the bed with her. âSo! What are you going to wear? Pick something that shows midriff, trust me.â
âIâm never making a bet with you two again.â
â
âSorry Iâm late.â
âYouâre not late,â the girl looked up at you with a bit of a deer-in-headlights expression.
âI know, but it looks like youâve been waiting. Therefore, Iâm late,â you smiled warmly at her, gave her your name, and held out your hand.
âIâm Kazuha,â she shook your hand with firm but incredibly delicate fingers, holding on for a bit too long to be considered a ânormalâ handshake. âSorry, I would have waited before ordering, but I got kinda nervous.â
âNo worries!â you sat down across from her. âI know itâs not exactly this simple, but donât be nervous.â
âYeah,â Kazuha laughed. âJust donât be, right?â
âIs it working?â you asked while pulling your chair over so that you were sitting next to her instead of across from her.
âUmm,â Kazuha began blushing, her eyes frantically scanning you up and down as you moved right next to her. She ended up completely ignoring your question, biting her lower lip subconsciously as she picked up her mug and put it back down without even taking a sip. âWere you going to get a drink? I can come with you to the counter if-â
âNo, Iâm okay,â you gently placed your arm on the backrest of her chair.
Her eyes darted to your arm before going right back to you, that adorable deer-in-headlights expression returning with a vengeance.
âHere, we can share,â she picked up the mug and held it out for you to take, spilling a little on her own fingers in the process. âOops!â
âSure,â you ignored the error in an attempt to save her some embarrassment, and as you accepted the mug from her hand, you discreetly gave her a tissue. âOh wow, itâs sweet.â
âDo you not like it?â she asked, looking up at you with an aura of innocent purity, as if your enjoyment of her coffee actually mattered.
âI love it,â you answered warmly, taking another sip. âWhat is it?â
With pure excitement, she started to explain her order, speaking too quickly to maintain any sort of semblance of coherency. The way she spoke about one pump this, one pump that, and not that a single word connected with you - in one ear out the other - was just too cute to handle. You were significantly more drawn to her appearance, focusing in particular on her expressiveness.
Her antics while she spoke were making you melt, you didnât even bother hiding the smile on your face as you nodded along, pretending to care about whatever she was saying. She really was stunning, you could probably stare at her pretty face all day and never tire. Her beautiful wavy brown hair perfectly framing her cute features. The picture she sent definitely did not do her beauty justice. Have you mentioned that she was beautiful?
âHave you?â she waited expectantly for you to respond.
âYeah, of course,â you replied, still mostly lost in her beauty.
She cocked an eyebrow at you before she burst out laughing.
âYou havenât been listening, have you?â
âAlright, you caught me,â you chuckled. âI got lost in your eyes for a second.â
âOh,â she blinked rapidly a couple times before looking down at the mug in her hands. âYou shouldnât just make up stuff like that,â she added softly.
âIâm not making it up,â you reached forward and very gently pressed up on her chin so that she was looking at you again. âYou have beautiful eyes.â
âThank you,â she stammered, trying desperately to look anywhere but into your eyes, before suddenly changing the topic. âSo, what about you, tell me something. Why would you call a random number like that?â
âI canât say itâs something I do often,â you chuckled. âAlthough, maybe I should.â
âAnd whyâs that?â
âBecause apparently it can lead me to a coffee date with a beautiful girl.â
âYouâre not even drinking coffee,â Kazuha giggled as she took another sip. âDoes this really count as a coffee date?â
âI thought you said we could share.â
âWe can share if you can tell me what my order is,â Kazuha teased, knowing you werenât listening.
âEasy, two pumps of hazelnut-â
âI hate hazelnut,â Kazuha interrupted you with another giggle.
âNo you donât.â
âWow,â she smirked, pretending to be impressed. âWere you actually listening?â
âNah, lucky guess,â you replied with a smirk of your own.
âYouâre so dumb,â Kazuha laughed, hitting your arm playfully. âYou should have just ran with it.â
âYouâre the one who said not to make up stuff,â you replied defensively.
âI meant about compliments.â
âThen itâs a good thing I havenât.â
She began blushing again, tapping the side of her mug nervously before looking up at you.
âYeah?â
âYeah,â you replied. âI guess youâll just have to keep me honest on our next date.â
âNext date?â
âThatâs what I said.â
âConfident, are we?â
âShould I not be?â
âThen whereâs the next date,â Kazuha played along. âI chose this one, now itâs your turn.â
âWell, have you tried this thing called âdinnerâ before? I heard itâs best with one other person at 7:00 p.m. tonight.â
âAre you asking me out to dinner?â
âWhat gave you that idea?â you leaned back in your chair, acting surprised for a brief moment before smiling at her. âI would have suggested a painting class or something, but it might be a bit too last minute to book something like that.â
âThen I guess weâll have to settle for dinner tonight,â Kazuha smiled alluringly.
âIâll call and make a reservation,â you smiled back. âSpeaking of calling, want to explain that one to me?â
âIâm just going to be extremely transparent,â Kazuha put her mug down. âI lost a bet, the punishment was that I had to go on a date with the first person who called.â
âI figured it was something along those lines,â you chuckled softly. âHopefully, I made it at least somewhat worth your time? Considering you already contractually agreed to go on another one with me, Iâd say itâs going well.â
âContractually agreed?â Kazuha laughed, tilting her head back. âIs that how this works?â
âExactly,â you replied. âI took an intro to political sciences course in freshman year, Iâd know.â
âAnd when was freshman year for you?â
âLast year,â you answered. âYou?â
âLast year as well. How have we not taken any classes together if weâre both sophomores?â
âI assume weâre in different majors.â
âIâd bet thatâs a safe assumption,â she giggled. âIf youâre not in poli-sci, what are you in?â
âWait, who said Iâm not?â
âYou obviously took the intro to political sciences course for fun,â Kazuha answered. âIâve seen the poli-sci kids at this school, none of them are soâŚâ she paused for a second while her eyes fixated on your forearms. âToned.â
âExcuse me? Youâre one to talk,â your eyes quickly darted down to the subtle midriff she was showing. âHaving abs even while sitting means youâre also far too toned for whatever your major is.â
âThatâs ridiculous,â she covered her mouth to stifle her giggles. âWhat if Iâm in something like kinesiology? Theyâre usually fit.â
âFuck, beautiful and smart? Thatâs just not fair,â you mumbled, earning you another embarrassed giggle from Kazuha. âHow long before I can hire you as my personal trainer?â
âI didnât say Iâm a kin major, I was just suggesting it.â
âCan I still hire you as my personal trainer?â
The conversation paused for a bit while Kazuha laughed, and in turn made you laugh with how contagious it was. She spoke next, after finally composing herself, in a much softer tone.
âTo answer your question, Iâve actually been really enjoying this,â Kazuha smiled back before biting her lower lip again. âThereâs a bit more to the punishment, though.â
âOh?â you leaned back in your chair.
âIâm supposed to actually-â she paused to lean closer to you for a second before leaning back again. âActually, nevermind.â
âNah, you canât tease me like that. What is it?â you implored.
âNo, itâs embarrassing.â
âI wonât judge.â
âPromise?â
âPromise,â you repeated after her.
âWell, part of the punishmentâŚâ she trailed off again. âI canât do it.â
âHey, donât stress it,â you leaned back. âWe can talk about something else.â
âFuck it,â she sighed, leaning forward. You moved closer until she was right against your ear. âIâm also supposed to blow you.â
âWow,â you leaned back again and put your hands on your head. âThatâs⌠a bit intense.â
âYou said you wouldnât judge!â
âIâm not judging.â
There was a long, silent pause, where numerous unholy thoughts flooded through your mind. Before you could even make any sense of anything though, Kazuha spoke up again.
âYeah,â Kazuha was now starting to get really embarrassed. âSorry, that was⌠I didnât know how else⌠I donât think I was supposed to actually tell you that part. This whole thing was probably super inappropriate, Iâm sorry for bringing that part up, that was stupid. I feel like I just ruined this-â
âItâs okay,â you cut her off, placing your hand gently on top of hers to calm her down.
There was another pause in the conversation. During it, you simply admired Kazuhaâs beautiful features some more while she absentmindedly stirred her coffee. She couldnât find the courage to look up at you. She was clearly waiting for the conversation to continue, but she was too shy to be the one to speak next. You had to be the one to break the pause.
âIâm not going to make you do that.â
Her head snapped up and she looked at you with eyes filled to the brim with surprise. She really was quite beautiful - an aura of pureness surrounded her, almost making her glow in a way.
âIâm serious,â Kazuha announced with this intense, newfound conviction. âIâll do it.â
âAnd Iâm serious when I say Iâm not going to make you do it,â you repeated firmly. âThatâs an awful punishment, and thereâs no way Iâd force that upon you.â
âI appreciate you trying to help, but I really have to do this. I canât explain,â Kazuha sighed.Â
âThen just tell them you did, Iâll back your story up if needed,â you replied casually.
âTheyâd know Iâm lying,â Kazuha suddenly lowered her tone. âTheyâre actually watching this date right now.â
âAre they?â
âPlease donât look around,â Kazuha panicked. âI wasnât supposed to tell you that part either.â
âIâm not stupid,â you laughed. âLook, how about the two of us sneak off to the bathroom for like five, actually ten, minutes. We can keep chatting or just stand there in silence, howâs that sound?â
âWould you actually do that for me?â Kazuha looked at you with that same shocked and pure expression that you were starting to fall in love with.
âYeah of course, Iâm going to look around as if you just offered to blow me,â you replied while standing up and over-exaggerating the motions of looking around the cafe before holding your hand for Kazuha to take. âNow we look suspicious as fuck, come on.â
Kazuha giggled at your foolishness before grabbing your hand and following you to the bathroom.
â
âThank fuck itâs clean,â you laughed as you closed the door behind you. âBit cramped for two people, but at least it smells nice.â
âYeah, thatâs true.â
âWait,â you leaned over her shoulder into her neck. âOh, that nice smell is just you.â
âStop,â Kazuha whined, stretching the word. The mirror showed her eyes rolling and her lips smiling.Â
âStill havenât lied by the way.â
âWell, thank you,â Kazuha awkwardly giggled as her backside lightly touched your crotch. âOops!â
âSorry, I didnât mean to-â
âItâs fine,â Kazuha interrupted. âItâs a small bathroom. I really appreciate you doing this for me.â
âDonât need to thank me, this ended up being a fun adventure. I got to grab coffee with such a lovely girl.â
âIâm glad youâre enjoying it,â Kazuha smiled at you in the mirror. âDo your dates usually end up like this?â
âIf I had a nickel for every time I found myself in this situation, Iâd haveâŚâ you pretended to count for dramatic effect. âExactly one nickel!â
âYouâre so silly,â Kazuha giggled, maneuvering around so that she was face to face with you. âAlright, I canât lie, this is a tiny bit awkward.â
âWant me to face the door?â you laughed.
âNo donât,â Kazuha giggled, covering her mouth. âThat would be so weird.â
âWell, Iâm gonna ask for at least ten or fifteen minutes in here, I got a reputation to keep.â
âWhat about my reputation?â
âGood point,â you tapped your chin. âAre you known for being good?â
âWant to find out?â
âKazuha,â it was your turn to feel warmth in your cheeks. âYou might be one of, if not the, prettiest girls at this entire school. I really do want to take you on a date, I really do want to get to know you properly.â
âSorry, I shouldnât have made that joke,â Kazuha stuttered, avoiding your gaze.
âThe joke was fine,â you leaned closer to her face. âI just really want to do this properly with you.â
âI do, too,â Kazuha looked into your eyes without pulling her face away, leaving her lips slightly parted.
Everything, other than the little frogs jumping around in your gut, slowed down. It was truly quite peculiar how the world worked. One moment youâre squeezed in a tiny bathroom fit for one, then one moment later it felt like it was taking hours to reach Kazuhaâs lips. Were you even moving at this point? Surely by now you would have made contact. You shouldnât have closed your eyes so early, but it just felt right. How much longer? Maybe you could open them back up, but would that ruin the moment? Then it hit you.
Strawberry.
Who even wears strawberry lip gloss? Is that a common flavor? Does she always wear strawberry? Why did it taste so good? Why did it feel so good? Have you been kissing her for too long now? Shit. Maybe youâre the one that shook her hand too long earlier, maybe it wasnât her fault. No, that was definitely her not letting go. Speaking of letting go, are you supposed to stop kissing her now? When did your hands end up framing her face, cupping her cheeks? When did her hand end up on the back of your neck? Whereâs the other one? Oh, itâs on your hip, when did it get there?
âWow.â
âThat-â
âFelt right,â Kazuha finished your thought.
âYeah,â you agreed, suddenly noticing just how tangible the tension was between the two of you as you let go of her face and brought your hands to her hips. âWere your cheeks always this pink?â
âAre they?â Kazuha giggled, turning her face in embarrassment to try looking into the mirror.
âDonât,â you gently turned her face with one finger until she was looking at you again. âYouâre so pretty.â
âTh-Thank you,â she stuttered, physically fighting the urge to look away and hide herself.
âCan I-â
She didnât even let the words finish leaving your lips before lunging forward and kissing you again. The force pushed your back into the door, leaving a small bruise where the doorknob hit your body that you wouldnât even notice until later tonight. While strawberries attacked your taste buds again, you began pushing back, slowly moving forward until Kazuhaâs soft body began squishing your hand into the porcelain sink.
âI think I could do this all day,â you gasped as both of you began panting for air. âBut I think weâve probably convinced your friends by now. Should we head back?â
âWait, not yet,â Kazuha panted, licking her lips. âCan you help me get a picture?â
âA picture?â
âTo prove that I⌠you know.â
âYou mean, like, with my thing out?â
âIn my mouth,â she began blushing. âJust for a second.â
âUmm.â
Was this real life? You werenât sure anymore.
âItâs fine if you donât want to,â Kazuha stammered. âForget it, dumb idea, theyâll just have to believe me.â
âI can,â you wrapped your arms around her and embraced her softly. âBut are you comfortable doing this?â
âI am,â her voice was muffled by your shoulder.
She pulled back, smiling at you for a second before leaning forward for another kiss. This one was softer than the previous two, her lips barely brushed against yours, her tongue barely touched you.
âReady?â you breathed into her mouth.
âI still canât believe youâre doing this for me,â Kazuha stared at you tenderly. âYou really donât have to.â
âItâs really no big deal,â you rubbed her arm gently before unbuckling your pants.
âJust umm, tell me when youâre⌠you know,â Kazuha stuttered as she turned away from you.
It was incredibly adorable the way she stood there, trying to avoid looking at you in the mirror. You lowered your pants down to your knees and began slowly stroking yourself. It definitely felt a little bit odd, but you just reminded yourself that you were doing this for her sake.
âExcuse me,â you reached your arm around her body and turned the sink on, wetting your fingers. âLetâs make it look even more believable.â
Kazuha furrowed her brows at you in the mirror, confused by what you meant.
âI assume the inside of your mouth isnât completely dry?â
âOh,â she finally understood what you were doing.
âAlright, Iâm ready if you are.â
Kazuha turned around and kept her eyes on yours, seemingly physically incapable of looking down.
âYouâre probably going to have to see my thing at some point if you want this picture,â you tried to lighten the mood. âDonât worry, you have my permission.â
She giggled, the rosy tint returning to her cheeks in full force, before looking down at your wet cock. As soon as she looked down, her body froze again and she looked back up at you, bringing that deer-in-headlights look that you were growing so accustomed to now by now back.
âItâs big.â
âHey, we donât have to actually do this,â you said gently, moving her hair out of her face for her.
âNo,â Kazuha replied softly before sitting down on the toilet cover. âSorry, I just, I didnât, yeah, Iâm ready.â
Kazuha pulled out her phone and flipped her camera to selfie mode, holding it up to the side, looking for the proper angle. Once satisfied, she turned her head to you, nodded once before opening her mouth wide and staring at you.
This was your cue, and you took one step forward before gently placing your tip into her mouth. You inhaled sharply as her lips immediately tightened around your tip, her tongue resting against your hole. Despite your cock already being stiff, as soon as it entered her mouth you could feel the blood rushing into your cock, swelling it up.
Kazuha held her phone up and took a few selfies at various angles. It was wild, such a beautiful girl with your cock in her mouth in such an erotically casual way. She had her lips pouted, almost like she was kissing your tip. It didnât really make much sense, but it was incredibly hot - she was incredibly hot. Before you knew it, Kazuha released your cock with a little pop and wiped her lips.
âDo you think you could like, push against the inside of my cheek,â Kazuha asked innocently before the realization of what she just said hit her and her face turned bright pink in embarrassment. âSorry, thatâs a crazy thing to say.â
âOf course I can,â you ignored her embarrassment and pushed your cock in front of her mouth again.
Almost reflexively, she parted her lips wide and let your cock slide back into her cozy mouth. Just as she asked, you pressed your cock against her inner cheek as she took more selfies. Your cock was exploring every crevice of her mouth, pressing and shoving against her cheek. You found, somehow, both of your hands on her head, guiding it while your cock roamed freely.
It seems that your ability to see things had completely vanished, since you failed to even notice that Kazuha had put her phone away. She was just sucking your cock; she was no longer snapping pictures. When you finally realized what was happening, you hurriedly released her head while attempting to ignore how wonderful her mouth felt.
The real shocker was that Kazuha continued to move her head back and forth along your shaft even after you released your grip. Her lips were caressing your length as she closed her eyes, totally engrossed in the moment. You were certain that her mouth was designed to suck your cock since it was now entirely her decision to blow you, and it was impossible to deny how fucking great her mouth felt.
âKazuha,â you gently moaned, carefully pulling your hips back. âI think you got enough pictures.â
âDoes it not feel good?â
Her voice felt like a dagger in your heart. She sounded disappointed.
âHey,â you crouched down so that you were level with her and leaned forward for a quick kiss. âYouâre fucking amazing, but I told you I wanted to do this properly. This feels⌠I donât know how to explain itâŚâ
âIt feels forced,â Kazuha smiled understandingly at you. âI promise you itâs not, I know I donât have to do this. I want to do this.â
âKazuha-â
âZuha. My friends call me Zuha.â
âOh,â you smiled softly. âZuha, are you sure?â
âIâm sure,â she whispered, standing up from the toilet and maneuvering you around before pushing you down to sit. âNow close your eyes, and let me prove to you that Iâm good at this.â
Fuck that was hot. You obeyed her request, closing your eyes as those delicate fingers of hers gave your cock a couple of pumps. Not being able to watch truly was a tragedy, but you felt her tongue with details you never could have imagined possible as soon as she pressed it against your tip.
She slipped your cock into her mouth again, bringing back that gentle warmth, swirling her tongue around the tip a couple of times before she began using her lips to stroke you. Back and forth her lips went, your tip prodding her tongue each time she went down your shaft, while her hand firmly gripped the bottom half of your shaft. A soft moan escaped your lips, one that told Kazuha it was working - but she already knew that. The girl definitely knew how to suck cock. Even without seeing that beautiful face of hers, you were already nearing your climax.
Somehow, she also felt it coming. Or, just by coincidence, she decided to start pumping your cock. Her hand and her mouth worked in tandem, stimulating your entire shaft. Up and down, a soft slurp echoing in the small bathroom each time her mouth moved. She slowed down for just a second, leaving you spewing agonizing moans into her ears, before speeding back up.
âZuha,â you groaned, squirming on the seat, lifting your hips up into the air. âIâmâŚâ
That was all the warning she got, because that was all the warning you could muster. Whether or not she was ready, the next thirty seconds of her life were going to be taken over by your cum shooting into her mouth. Your eyes shot open as the first gush launched against the roof of her mouth, just in time for you to see her visibly flinch.
She looked up at you, locking eyes, and held her mouth steady. Even as the next few spurts flew out of your cock, she never flinched again. You could see your cock throbbing, each pulse shooting more cum into her mouth, but she held steady, not even blinking, staring at you with those beautiful eyes.
With one hand, you pushed her hair out of her face and cupped her cheek tenderly, using your thumb to wipe the little glob of cum that spilled out of the corner of her lips. As your cock finally began to relax, Kazuha slowly pulled back. Inch by inch, she released your cock, making sure to keep her lips taut until they reached your tip.
She gathered all the cum in her mouth and struggled to take out her phone. When she finally got it, she snapped a selfie with your cum all on her tongue. Once she was content with the picture, she bent over and spit it all out, holding her hair to prevent it from going into the sink.
âSorry, there was just too much,â she apologized, looking back up at you. âI swear I usually swallow.â
âItâs fine,â you smiled reassuringly at her.
Kazuha smiled back before she bent down over your cock again.
âHoly fuck,â you gasped, shuddering as Kazuha gave your cock a lick from the base to the tip.
She pursed her lips around your tip, prodding your frenulum a couple times with her tongue, coaxing out a little glob of cum. Without even lifting her mouth, she swallowed it. After a few more licks, making sure you had no more cum to drain, she released your cock with a little pop.
âSo,â she stood back up proudly. âYou tell me, how was it?â
âFucking amazing,â you stood up in front of her and grabbed her face with both hands.
This next kiss went on for a few minutes, or perhaps longer. It would have been even longer if it wasnât for the aggressive knock on the door.
âHello? Thereâs only one bathroom here!â
Both of you began giggling while staring at each other.
âWeâre fucked,â Kazuha whispered.
âItâs your fault,â you whispered back. âFuck it though, weâre already screwed, might as well keep going.â
So you did just that, and the two of you kissed again until a staff member came by and berated the two of you, kicking you out of the cafe and telling you to never come back.
âWorth it,â you laughed as the two of you walked out into the warm morning afternoon.
âWorth it,â she repeated, clutching your arm with both of hers and smiling. âI canât believe itâs almost noon already. Lunch?â
âThat sounds perfect.â

A/N:
Inspired by a prompt given to me by @mintwithchoco!
So, turns out Roommates is becoming a whole universe. I'll explain more in my Masterlist at some point, but my goal is to write a collection of fics from this universe that are all following the same OC. They're going to be readable completely independently of each other, but there will be a lot of references and foreshadowing since I've actually already plotted out like 10 fics, so if an idol is mentioned in a fic, they're probably getting their own fic at some point.
This particular one will probably be split into two parts, just so I can avoid making it too long. Hope you guys enjoy this one, I've been on a crazy Kazuha high lately and just had to write her.
Feel free to let me know what you think about this idea. I won't be releasing fics in chronological order either. This takes place in the OC's sophomore year while the Eunbi fic took place in the OC's senior year. I'm pretty committed to this now with how much worldbuilding and theorizing I've put into this, but I still love hearing feedback!

ARE YOU SURE?

read ghost in the woods. (also pinned on masterlist)
You always felt like crushes made your life more interesting. Even after the apocalypse started. Although that wasnât able to be your main priority throughout the years, the world became more normal. The walkers, the quietness, the fighting. It all made sense and you adapted. Like humans are supposed to. However, with everything going back to normal, you were able to focus on the things you wanted rather than needed.
That being said, you were able to focus on someone you had quite a large crush on.
Carl.
You looked at him and wondered how no one else has seen him like you do. Just look at him. He has probably the most perfect hair youâve ever seen. The sweetest looking lips and freckles that complimented his face so well. You were practically enthralled with this man and he had no clue. Or so you thought. Him being so clueless to how obsessed you were with him frustrated you to no end. You talked to him occasionally, whenever it seemed best.
During certain events youâd talk to him or youâd smile at him when you crossed paths. Sometimes you had the same watch shift and you had hours of just talking with each other. For some reason that never translated to outside work. He was always busy with Judith.
You just wanted to talk to him more. Anything.
Thatâs why, when Rick came up to you both during a watch shift and asked you to go on a run for him, you were ecstatic. Nervous like hell, but excited nonetheless. âI was wonderinâ if the two of you would be willin to go out tomorrow for some supplies. Nothing major just some batteries and what not.â Rick explains. You look over to Carl and he looks back to give a small smile before responding to his dad. âYeah that shouldnât be a problem.â He says. âWell itâll have to be a bit later than a usual runâŚwe wonât have enough people here to take your watch shifts till about noon.â
So it was a late run. Sounds like youâd have to be very focused.
And you were. At first at least. It was very awkward, it made you realize you never talked to him outside of working which technically you still were you just were trapped in a confined space alone. You began to overthink. You started to wonder if heâd seen you stare at him or if he saw how much you sought him out when you left your house in Alexandria.
But he didnât know. All he knew is that he had to keep cool. You didnât know it, but Carl was just as obsessed with you as you were. Usually when heâs like this heâd act on it. At least he did with Enid before they broke up. He would initiate everything with Enid, but with youâŚwell you made him nervous. You were just really pretty and he was scared to look like some loser in front of you. The crush was so intense he actively avoided you which confused him really.
It explained his silence in the car. You two were told to drive out sort of far, but you decided to stop at an abandoned house first. Getting there, the sun was going down so it had to be quick. âGuess we should make this fast.â Carl states, getting out of the car and shutting the door. You agree. âYep. BatteriesâŚother shit.â You giggle. He smiles and you both head inside shortly after clearing it. It was pretty messy, paper and books everywhere along with random pillows scattered.
You both take separate paths into the home just to make sure there werenât any surprises waiting for you behind doors. You have your knife in hand and a flashlight in the other, ready to open a bedroom door. Once you do, you open it to see a peculiar sight.
The bedroom was very nicely decorated to say the least.
There was a large bed with silk red sheets over it along with some nice pillows. there were dead rose petals scattered over it and the floor. The drawers in the room were all open with clothes falling out of them so you can only assume that their plans were scrapped. The bed was simply untouched. You sort of just stand there and stare at it, since that was all you really could do. You take it in and think about what couldâve happened when Carl comes up behind you, completely unaware. âHey I checked the rest of theâwoah..â He sees the bedroom and you snap out of it.
âHm?â You look at him and heâs completely red. He takes a moment before continuing. âI checked the rest of the house. Itâs safe. We should look through and find what we can.â He tells you. âRight. Yeah, of course.â So you scavenge through the house, mostly finding everything you needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. You noticed there was only one room however. Once you gathered everything you thought would be useful, you and Carl decided to leave, although it was unlikely you would until the next morning.
Before leaving you looked through the window to see that it was pitch black outside. You let the curtain fall back closed. âIâm not sure itâs a great idea to leave here.â You tell him. He looks at you and processes, letting his bag fall off his shoulder. âHelp me barricade the door.â You both move to push one of the larger chairs in the living room to sit against the door. Once youâre all done, you decided to settle sleeping arrangements.
âI can sleep out here. On the couch.â He says, looking back to the couch which had no cushions on it. You look back at him and giggle. âWe can both stay in the room? If thatâs fine with you. Thereâs pillows in there.â You tell him. He hesitates but agrees. In the room you realized there a lack of comfort. You ended up lighting all the small candles and leaving them on the tables or dressers around the room to make it comfier. There were pillows but little blankets. The only ones being the silk sheets that were on the bed. He insists heâs fine so you leave him be and kick your shoes off the lay on the bed.
You both sit there in silence. Nothing. Not even a goodnight, the tension is incredibly thick and youâre both hyper aware of it. God itâs pissing you off. Doesnât he get it? Doesnât he see the way you look at him? You piss him off just as much. He just doesnât have the balls to say it. Itâs his fault after all, he avoids you constantly. He wants you. He wants you so fucking bad he just canâtâ
âJust lay on the bed.â You blurt. His eyes open instantly. âItâs fine you can just lay on the bed.â You repeat. Carl slowly sits up and looks up at the bed. âAre you sure?â He asks. âYeah Iâm sure. Weâre mature enough to do this without it being a thing. Right?â You sit up and look down at him. He just looks at you. Admiring how good you looked with just the warm lighting the candles gave. It almost turned him on. So he grows the balls to get up and kick his shoes off to lay on the bed. You lay back down and you both just sort of lay there, staring at the ceiling.
Carl was terrified. But he wanted you, he really did. He knew if he had the chance to do anything, itâd be right now. He canât back out, he canât avoid you. So he made the first move. That being, rolling to his side to look at you. You furrow your eyebrows and turn to see him, and it almost makes you laugh. You chuckle. âWhat?â You say amused. Your smile makes him happy. You reciprocate his action, turning onto your right side to face him. You sort of stare at each other and he has the slightest smile on his face. Itâs very subtle but itâs there.
âWhat?â You repeat. He looks at you and builds up some courage. âYou look pretty.â He says shortly. God you just wanted to scream how you felt. But he beats you to it. âIâve sort ofâŚI dunno Iâve been avoiding you for some reason. Well not some reason, I know the reason I just have this stupid crush andââ He nervously rambles which you find kind of sweet. But you suddenly get really excited. Was he seriously confessing? Right now? Everything went mute for a moment, you honestly heard nothing of what he was saying. You just felt the urge to kiss him. So you did.
Your hand moves beneath his chin to hold him in place while you press your lips to his. You both felt incredibly relieved, prompting a smile from his lips into the kiss. He almost moans, kissing you is all heâd been wanting. He grips your wrist and he moves his own hand to hold the side of your face, deepening the kiss. He moves over you, turning you to your back while kissing you deeply. Your hands move to his arms, running them up and down the fabric of his flannel. That reminds you.
You still have clothes on!
You pull back from him and he looks down at you, watching as you push his flannel off his shoulders. He realizes and is all for it. âAre weâŚum..â Carl lets you just start to take his clothes off with no problem. âThis is fine.â He says with a smile, watching as you try your hardest to unbuckle his belt. Once you do he finally stops you to begin taking your clothes off, except you stopped him once he got to your bra. âNot yet. Please?â You question. He retracts his hands from your back and nods. âYeah of course. I want my shirt on tooâŚif thatâs okay?â He looks down at you hopeful. You smile at him sweetly and nod.
âThatâs okay.â You tell him. Of course you guys still wanted each other, but you still had your fears and insecurities. Not to mention you werenât the closest just yet, this was on a whim. âBut we can stillâŚyou know?â Carl questions, wanting to make sure you still wanted to go through with it. You nod and he takes that as a sign to pull his jeans off, meanwhile you take yours off. Once youâre ready, he looks down and canât quite see. The room was dark, even with the candles. âUmâŚâ He furrows his eyebrows but fuck heâs aching. He gently rubs himself over your folds, eliciting moans from the both of you. âShit that feels so good. Really wet Iââ
âDo you need help?â You cut him off, although you were getting impatient. It felt good but you needed him inside of you. It was a feeling youâd never felt before but you craved it. Terribly. âIf you canât find the right place? The hole, Carl.â How embarrassing for him. But to be fair it was dark in the room and heâd never done this in his life. But he agrees to the help and you lean down and almost guide him. Feeling his tip graze across your folds once again had you moan, but he prodded himself at your hole right away.
He breathed in sharply but slowly started to push himself all the way inside of you, bottoming out deep inside. His eyes fall shut and he drops his forehead to your shoulder. âAre you okay?â You turn to see him but heâs just breathing so heavy. âM-mhm. Just really tight. Nâ warmâŚI donât know if Iâll last long Im sorry.â He tries to adjust and pushes deeper in. You moan and itâs so much for him. He sits there for a moment, doing his best to catch his breath. Although that takes him a moment. Once heâs ready he pulls back to look at you.
He grins before starting to move his hips, starting in a really irregular manner. He was struggling a little bit but you could tell in the noises he was making. He was trying hard to not finish. He didnât want to embarrass himself. Soon after, he ended up finding a nice rhythm. It felt amazing for the both of you, the moans slipping from your mouth got him closer each second. Your hands went from gripping the silk sheets beneath you to his side, grabbing at his shirt as you got closer.
He tries to shut himself up by kissing at your neck, occasionally biting. The sound of him in your ear was absolutely perfect. âFeels so good,â He says, over and over between whimpers. âCanât take it you feel amazing.â It makes you smile that he can find such pleasure with you. He goes back to your neck, sucking marks to the skin.
It got to the point where he barely retracted himself from your heat, instead he kept buried inside. His breath got heavier and heavier, your moans got louder. âCarl Iââ You start, unable to finish your sentence. âMhm right there.â He shoves himself all the way inside, hitting that perfect spot deep inside you. You finish, clenching around him which makes him pull out straight away to finish on your tummy. All over your shirt too.
It takes you a moment to catch your breath, but watching Carl do the same made you so happy. It finally happened. After a while of what felt like pining, you finally had him. He smiles, still breathing heavily as he rests his head on your chest. You wrap your arms around him and run your fingers through his hair. You stew on the fact that heâs in your arms. Heâs still getting over the fact he was inside you. Also you felt perfect.
Heâs really glad he took that chance.
The next day the drive back was quiet yet peaceful. Except you were both thinking the same thing. How would you tell everyone back home? Would this keep happening, were you guys going to be together officially?
I guess youâd find out.

The Princess (and the chaos she brings with her) - steve rogers x fem!reader (1/?)
Summary: when Thor asked the avengers to guard a dear friend of his, they didn't think twice before saying yes. What they didn't know was that said friend is the princess of one of the nine realms, and a lost love of one Captain Rogers.
Part 1 // I thought you were dead // word count: 3.5k
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"(y/n), you have to eject, right now!" Steve screamed over the torrents of wind whistling through the ship. Schmidt was dead, gone. So was the tesseract. But it wasn't over yet. "I have to put her in the water!"
The girl behind him widened her eyes, battling against the elements to reach him. "There's no world in which I let you do that, Captain!"
"I'm not asking for permission!"
"Well then, I guess we go down together!" She painstakingly made her way to him, every step a feat of strength. Her previously neatly pinned curls no longer even resembled what they once were as her hair whipped around her face.
As Steve turned to face her, she somehow still looked angelic. He felt that right now, she was more heavenly than ever. He couldn't let her die with him.
"Buckle in." He commanded, as they began their quick descent. He looked at her, the first woman who had ever made him feel seen, the only person he had ever met who was as crazy as he was.
As the ice flew closer, he turned and placed a hand tenderly on her face. Tears welled in his eyes as his mind wandered to the future they could've had. God, they could have been amazing.
"I'm sorry, (y/n)." He whispered. She could only just hear it, even though they were right next to each other.
He pulled the yellow ejection lever on the seat she had just buckled herself into, watching as her eyes widened. "No! Steve, no!" She lifted her hands to stop him, to jam the lever, anything to stay with him. She wasn't quick enough.
Steve closed his eyes as her seat was ejected, hearing her scream his name. There was no world where he allowed her to go down with him, and he trusted that wherever she ended up, Stark and Peggy would find her. He hoped they would be able to find him, too.
He hadn't prayed in a long time, but as he went down, he bargained with God for her safety.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is my honour to introduce the new and improved Captain America and the Howling Commandos exhibit, in honour of the 100th birthday of Captain Steven Grant Rogers." The crowd clapped as the senator stepped off the podium, motioning for Steve to take the mic. Bucky and Sam laughed at how uncomfortable the Captain was as he stood thanking everyone for an exhibit he never wanted. All part of the job, he supposed.
After the handshakes, and the photo ops, and the autographs and the meet and greets, the boys finally got relative peace to wander around the new exhibition.
"I can't believe you used to wear these stupid suits." Sam laughed, standing in front of the main exhibit. Bucky sighed, budging Sam's shoulder. "Says the asshole who wears a bird suit to fight." He retorts.
Steve laughed at his friends antics, but walked away when he noticed an addition to the exhibit he hadn't seen before. He stared, wide eyed at the name in front of him.
(Y/N): THE MISSING HERO?
Steve found himself drinking in every inch of the gorgeous photo underneath the text, her bright smile and barely visible freckles. The lighting highlighted the different hues in her immaculately pinned hair. She looked just like an angel, as she always did in real life.
Steve looked down, forlorn eyes investigating very few artefacts in the glass exhibit. Her folded uniform, found in her room after the plane went down. The blush lipstick you wore every day. Finally, an object that Steve didn't recognise. A golden ring, encrusted in unidentified jewels and a family crest no one knew. He frowned.
He had known her only a short few months, but he regretted never asking about her family. And now, it would haunt him that he never did until his last breath.
"They never found her, huh?" Bucky placed his covered hand on Steve's shoulder, a sadness tinged in his voice. He had only met (y/n) briefly, but he knew even then that Steve's heart rested in the palm of that woman's hand.
He had asked about her, once, but the look on Steve's face when her name was mentioned told him everything he needed to know.
"No. Howard searched for years, found nothing. Turned out that she had lied on her intake forms for the SSR, too. We don't even know if (y/n) was really her name." He took a beat. "We have no idea if she survived or not."
Steve didn't have to make the subtext clear, Bucky knew he worried that he had killed her by ejecting her from that plane. Bucky also knew there was no sense in trying to tell him she would have died either way, that the ice would've killed her.
"You okay?" Bucky asked, after another few moments of silence.
Steve nodded, looking at the photo. "I'm glad she's remembered. I just wish I didn't have so many unanswered questions."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So," Tony started. "Thor is arriving with the guest of honour later today, who we have agreed to protect here for the meantime. We don't have a lot of background for this one. The dark elves are the ones we're protecting her against, but Thor said threat could come from many areas. Do we have any questions?"
The team looked nothing short of bored. Well, most of them. Cap always had the good grace to sit up and look interested. Scott was straight up asleep.
"Is she important? How long will she be staying with us?" Steve asked.
"No idea, and uh, no idea. Anything else?"
"Is she single?" Sam asked, earning a laugh from some of the others. Steve shook his head disapprovingly, but smiled at his friend's levity.
As Steve stood up to go back to training, FRIDAY sounded around the room. "Excuse me everyone, my satellites have detected a bifrost signal heading for the compound imminently."
"Speak of the devil!" Tony clapped his hands as everyone headed out to the bifrost landing site (something that had been instituted after Tony's lawn got scorched one too many times).
Bucky smacked Scott upside the head to wake him up with a jolt. "Oh, where are you guys going?" He called behind them, jogging to catch up. Steve waited behind from him, laughing at his groggy friend.
A bright light connected with the grass just beside the landing site. Tony's hands covered his eyes as he mouthed are you fucking kidding me. When the light cleared, Thor stood tall in his usual armour.
"My friends!" His voice boomed, "I present to you, my fellow avengers, the honourable princess of Alfheim, jewel of the Alfar and ambassador to Asgard." Thor's voice boomed through the halls of the compound. "This is my friend, (y/n)."
Beside Thor stood a girl. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with a heavenly stature. She looked like she could have been carved from marble by the hands of God himself.
A light Asgardian pink dress was covered by a golden chest-plate which fit her body like it had been moulded just for her. It was covered in intricate etchings of suns and stars, which caught the light and shone brilliantly. She wore golden jewellery, which was nothing like the avengers had ever seen. Golden ear cuffs covered her pointed ears, with her long hair pulled into an up-do, emphasising the golden, bejewelled tiara on her head.
"Princess?" Sam squeaked. Wanda smacked him, with a look that screamed don't embarrass us.
Tony tilted his head in confusion at the guest, who he could almost swear he recognised from somewhere. "Thor, you did not inform us that we were looking after the ruler of a planet. We would have been more prepared."
"I am not ruler yet, Mr. Stark." The girl cast her eyes up at Tony, as she smiled sweetly. Her voice was honey smooth, and anyone who heard it felt themselves being charmed by it. "I have heard much about you all from Thor."
"Should we bow?" Bruce whispered to Tony, who shrugged his shoulders. Thankfully, (y/n) took the lead and shook each of their hands.
She looked around at each of the gathered avengers. Thor made his introductions to the rest of the group. "Where are the others?" Thor enquired.
"Here!" Steve smiled at the site of his old friend, his view of the princess obscured by the large man. Bucky and Scott tagged behind him, also happily greeting Thor.
"Captain, it is very good to see you. Please, let me introduce you to the Princess (y/n)." Thor stepped aside to introduce them, but his eyebrows knitted together in confusion when neither of them moved, almost frozen in place.
"Uh... hi." Scott side-stepped the Captain and caught the eye of their guest. "My name's Scott Lang."
The girl tore her eyes away from the captain, unsure really on what to do. But her training kicked in, knowing that being rude was one of the worst sins a princess could commit. "Hello, Mr. Lang. I am (y/n)."
"Holy shit." Bucky breathed out.
The rest of the avengers watched the rather silent exchange with confusion. It was very unlike Steve to get so tongue-tied, and he would never be so rude as to not introduce himself.
"Captain Rogers..." The girl spoke first, confusing them further. "I believed you dead." Tears had welled in her eyes, intriguing the observing crowd even more.
"I thought you were dead." He breathed. "What... what is going on?"
Bucky interjected. "Um, hi. I'm Bucky, we met briefly in '45."
She smiled softly at him, but her eyes betrayed her confusion. "Sergeant Barnes, of course! Didn't you... also die?"
"Yeah, we've all got a lot of explaining to do." Bucky laughed as the absurdity of the situation caught up to him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thor's eyes darted between his friend and the captain. When Thor asked the avengers to guard her from the war on Alfheim, he knew some hijinks would ensue. This is not what he expected. He knew you had spent some time on Midgard before and when you returned you were emotionally distraught. He had simply figured the war you had fought with the Midgardians had taken it's toll.
He eyed both the Captain and you, suspiciously. You were his dear friend, but you had never talked to him about any mortal love.
"So, Princess. You've been here before." Tony enquired.
The Princess licked her lips nervously, glancing at Steve, who had barely moved a muscle, his eyebrows furrowed. "Yes, Mr. Stark. I spent some time here during the second world war. I left Midgard when Johann Schmidt was defeated, and haven't returned since."
"Tell us about your world, Princess. I've never heard of it before." Natasha, the red-head in the corner, asked the guest.
"You have heard of it before." The princess smiled, explaining. "I believe we are now known as a fantasy character here - you call us elves." She pointed to her pointed ears as each avenger clung to her words.
Thor smiled at his Midgardian friends' curiosity.
"The Alfar still live amongst you, they are simply unseen. I believe you may know Tolkien?" At the mention of the author's name, everyone's ears pricked. "He was one of my father's greatest friends and many of his book settings were inspired by Alfheim."
"What!" Scott exclaimed. "That's insane."
"Really, Ant Man?" Bucky responded, pointing out that they were all ridiculous, when you thought about it. The world was crazy now.
The princess chuckled, and rose from her seat at the conference table. "Thank you very much for your hospitality, Avengers. I would quite like to rest in my chambers, if you would be so gracious to allow me."
"Um, yeah... consider yourself allowed." Tony stumbled over his words. Very unusual for him, and it did not go unnoticed by the others. "Dinner is at seven."
"Thank you, Mr. Stark. Captain Rogers," She addressed the Captain, who looked up quickly. His face was pale, and he nervously twiddled his thumbs. "Would you be so kind as to show me my rooms?"
He popped up, almost comedically fast. "Yes. Yeah, sure. Um, this way." He walked out quickly, darting his eyes back to make sure the princess was following him.
She followed, gracefully. Her skirts fanned out behind her as she walked. The avengers in the room could scarcely take their eyes off her as she faded from sight.
As soon as the door closed behind them, the room devolved into chaos. People shouting theories and questions left, right and centre. Mostly, everyone was just bewildered. Bucky and Thor discussed how they had both known the couple separately, and whether each had talked about the other.
Natasha watched as Tony sat quietly on his tablet for a few seconds, searching for something she could only assume was relevant to the discussion at hand.
"Bucky, what's the deal there?" Clint asked.
He was interrupted by Tony. "Aha!" Stark called, silencing the room. "I knew I recognised her from somewhere."
He projected a photograph to the wall, and the avengers gasped.
The photograph consisted of Steve and Bucky front and centre. Bucky had his left arm wrapped lazily around Tony's dad, Howard. And Steve was looking directly at the girl next to him, holding her to him by the waist. It was the princess. The gaze he looked at her with... it was like nothing they had ever seen from him.
"They didn't just know each other, they were in love." Bucky replied to Clint's question, a hint of sadness underneath his words.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) followed Steve along the large corridors of the compound, her smaller legs working double time to match his long strides. They walked in silence, for the most part. It wasn't the comfortable kind.
"Captain." She spoke first, again. As she called for him, he stopped walking abruptly, turning slowly. He met her gaze and then cast his eye down.
"(y/n)... I mean, um, Princess." He responded.
"(y/n) is sufficient." She whispered, almost guiltily. "I can't believe you're alive..."
"I can't believe you're alive," He retorted. "I searched for you, when I woke up. They couldn't find any records of you other than your enlistment form, and they found you had lied. People think you're just a ghost story..."
He took a breath. "I can't believe you're here and... an alien princess?"
"I know it's hard to believe, I hope you understand why I couldn't tell you back then." She laughed. "When I found that you and Sergeant Barnes were dead, I couldn't face being here anymore... I returned to Alfheim."
As she thought back on it, a tear sprung to her eye. On seeing her reaction, Steve couldn't help himself but place a friendly hand on her back, rubbing soothing circles. She briefly froze at the contact, but quickly, she moved her own hand down his arm until she was holding onto his hand with both of hers.
So much went unsaid, but the contact confirmed what they had both most desperately wanted to know. Would it be the same?
"If I had known that you and Sergeant Barnes were alive, Captain..." She admitted. "I would have returned in an instant, I give you my word."
He smiled, rubbing a thumb over the back of her hand. A red blush hugged her cheeks as he did so.
It was typical of him that he couldn't concentrate on the moment, "Why are you here?" He asked. "What are we protecting you from?"
She sighed. "The Svartalfar, or the dark elves. You may know them - they attacked Thor in the Midgardian city of London some years ago now." He nodded in recognition.
"They are determined to conquer Alfheim, and have set their sights on my family. They have already managed to get close to killing me."
She pushed the collar of her dress down, showing a large, angry, red scar just above her collarbone. His hands flew up to trace the scar. She gulped at the close contact, her eyes meeting his.
His expression gave away his concern, knowing that Thor had suggested she was in a lot of danger. "Don't worry, Princess. You're safe here." He smiled, softly. "We'll protect you with everything we've got."
"Thank you, Captain."
"It's just Steve." He unhooked their hands, and gave her his arm. She linked her arm in his, and he resumed wandering down the halls to her rooms. "Do you have any bags?"
"No, I fled to Asgard with nothing when I needed healing. The Asgardians were kind enough to offer many gorgeous clothes for me to bring, but I figured they were a bit conspicuous."
Steve laughed, "Yeah, they might be."
They walked for a little while longer, before Steve entered a room to the side. It was rather basic compared to what she was used to, but it would more than suffice for the meantime.
"This is your room." He stood by the door as she entered. "I'm just down the hall if you need anything. I'll get Tony to send you some less conspicuous clothes. See you at dinner."
"Thank you, Steven." He laughed at her inability to be too informal with him. He nodded at her, and turned to walk down the hall to his room.
As he entered, the photograph of her from the Smithsonian caught his eye from the nightstand. He picked it up, tracing her features with his finger - unable to stop the smile spreading across his face. Who would've thought? Not only was his girl alive, she was also alien royalty. Sometimes, just sometimes, he adored his strange, strange world.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sir," The agent walked into the dark room with purpose in her every step. "The Princess has been spotted."
The man in the chair looked up at the mention of his target. "Show me" he ordered. He watched as agent transferred the images on her tablet to the big screen, showing grainy, far away surveillance of the avengers compound.
As low quality as the image was, the woman arriving with Thor in the distinctive Alfar dress and armour was certainly the princess.
"Oh, my dear..." The man's deep voice dragged out. "You have walked right into our sights."

Bus stops on dodgy roads
Sukuna x reader
A/N: Hey my lovelies! I know i been gone a while but heâs just a random thought I made into a fanfic! Enjoy! <33
Going to University in a rough area is definitely not for the weak.
Classes finishing at 7 in the evening, studying the notes in the library until 11 because your dorm doesnât have a desk, meaning youâre waiting at the bus stop in the dead of the night with the local drug dealers, police sirens blaring in the back, but you try to tune it out with âlike a tattoo by Sadeâ blasting your your earphones.
But you just happen to be godâs strongest soldier.
Well.. at least you think you are.
Strangely enough, you do not feel threatened by the drug dealers who wait for the same bus, the silent agreement to mind your own business is mutual.
But more strangely, you notice the drug dealers arenât here today, so you sit alone at the bus stop, the dry air hitting your face.
âHere all alone sweetheart?â Says a croaky voice in the silence, you turn your gaze to the ugly looking man who reeks of blood and alcohol. You donât recognise him so you pretend you didnât hear him, silently praying itâs not your blood splattered next.
You flitch as he snatches your earphones out your ear and throws it to the ground, shit, why did it have to be you?
âDonât pretend you canât hear me you stupid bitch, how much for a fuck before I make you do it for freeâ
You subtly reach for your pocket knife and you answer him defensively âIâm not a whore, go ask somebody elseâ, calling police would be useless, by the time they arrive youâll already be roadkill.
You watch him seeth at your attitude as you gulp, realising a bit too late that was the wrong move.
You watch a black Bugatti pass, a car you knew probably belonged to an even dodgier person but you were desperate. You throw a rock at the car and scream âHELPPP!!â.
The man only gets angrier as he punches you for drawing attention, you fall to the ground with curses from your mouth but luckily the sleek car halts, before reversing slowly until itâs in front of you.
âg-get up you bitchâ the man hurriedly orders, reaching out to pull you up but your new found confidence allows you to kick him before you hurriedly stand up yourself.
Before you can react again, you hear a deep voice boom through the abandoned roadâ âOiâ
The black tinted windows of the Bugatti slides down to reveal a tatted man, a bit older than you but scarily handsome nonetheless. The creepâs eyes widens before speaking âBoss! I- I was just going to deal with this bitch becau-â
âWho asked?â
You stare quietly, taking in the interaction between the creep and his boss in the car.
âDid I not order you to report back to me once you were done with the job?â The boss asked. You didnât even want to guess what the âjobâ was.
âSir this bitch got in my way so-â
âShut upâ the boss cut him off before his red eyes connected with yours, a shiver travels down your spine at the contact.
âLeave us aloneâ he says, you take a step backwards thinking heâs talking to you but realise youâre wrong when the creep walks away shakily.
Your own legs start to shake slightly in realisation of who this man could be.
âHey pretty girlâ
You gulp âHi s-sirâ
A chuckle erupts from the man at your immediate obedience compared to how animalistic you were with the other. âWhy you calling me sir, you work for me too?â He asks. You struggle to find words so you simply shake your head.
He keeps eye contact with you as he puts out his cigarette that was hanging from his mouth. âCall me Sukunaâ
The leg almost threatened to give in from the shake as he confirms your fears, he was the cityâs drug lord Sukuna.
âThanks Sukunaâ
âNo worries dear, why donât you be a good girl and let me drop you homeâ he asks, you know itâs a command rather than an offer.
âT-thanks but my bus will be here any minuteâ you reply with a shaky smile.
His gaze is unnerving as he answers âyour bus wonât be comingâ
Your confused silence allows him to answer the question you were thinking.
He points in the direction that the creepy man left, âYou see, I ordered him to kill some rats on that bus, the bus will be terminated in 3..2âŚâ
âWhatâ you whisper in disbelief.
â..1â
You look up at the digital bus stop timer.
âZeroâ
âService currently unavailable. We apologise for this inconvenienceâ the digital screen reads.
You stare back at him in disbelief. He was too good, devilishly good, and you were now putty in his tatted hands. All the questions left on the tip of your tongue disappears, Sukuna only offers an illegally beautiful smile to you.
âWell?â He says, âI really donât like offering repeating myself dearâ
Without missing a beat, you run to the passenger side door and enter the car.
To hell with morals and ethics, when you live in the ghetto, survival is your main priority.
You sit in the luxury leather seats with cowardly stature. Sukuna starts his engine and drives off.
âYou know itâs breaks my heart to see a pretty girl like you wait in the cold like that dearâ he teases gruffly, a new cigarette hanging from his lips. âNot your first time waiting there is it?â
âNoâ you reply but then you pause, wait how does he know that?
âHow do you-â
âI know my city better than anyone, every corner and.. bus stopâ he adds to lighten the mood, you canât help the small giggle that escaped you, itâs hard not to when your saviour happens to be an big, attractive, clearly untouchable man who smells like oud and leather.
âThink Iâm funny doll?â He says with a smile, red eyes still on the road.
âOnly a little-â you reply before immediately closing your mouth in fear, you fix your posture when you suddenly remember this isnât some friend of yours but rather the most powerful man in the city that could easily have your head.
He chuckles, âeasy, easy doll. No need to humble me like thatâ
âSorryâ you say with a meek smile.
He looks at you and back on the road. There was no denying Sukuna found you adorable, you were amusing to him, and what kissable looking lips you had.
âYou can joke around with me doll, consider me a friend hm?â He says as his hands move to the back of your neck, stroking it ever so gently, goosebumps quickly rise making the tatted man laugh as you look at him embarrassed.
He parks in the uni dorm car park. Before slowly turning his head towards you, you feel comfortable enough to look him face to face now, you offer him a smile âthank you dropping me off Sukuna⌠and also saving me back there.. I know heâs one of your man but still-â
Your sentence dies at the back of your throat when his rough hand strokes your cheek, âdid it hurt?â He says, heâs serious now. âA bit..â you answer.
Your breath hitches as he leans forwards and presses his mouth to your ear âIâll take care of him when I get back, you will never see him again, okay?â He says and you nod in understanding of what that entails.
âSuch a smart girlâ he coos gruffly as he presses a kiss to the shell of your ear.
âThank you again Sukunaâ
Another smile comes to his handsome face as he tilts his head âand how exactly do you wish to thank me dear?â
You gulp as you stare at the handsome devil, seducing you so easily, you feel embarrassed when he notices your thighs squeezed together, while Sukuna makes a mental note of the dirty things heâs going to do with those plush thighs next time.
He licks his lips, and you unintentionally imitate him. He shakes his head and bites his bottom teeth, he canât hold back anymore, oh girl.. what have you started?
Suddenly his wet lips press against your own, moulding with the shapes of yours, his sloppy tongue makes sure you can taste the tobacco as you moan at the feeling, he chuckles into your mouth before pulling away.
You pull away with a gasp, he smiles, looking nowhere near as breathless as you, just admiring your beautiful face. He thumb plays with your bottom lip
âWell shit.. Youâve started something I gotta finish dollâ

remember that ask about yuån fèn being able to communicate with sun wukong's spirit, well how bout' u mix it with ur last sad fic and make the reader a reincarnation of that guy's dead wife, not that i also see him giving yuån fèn advice on his relationship and look at them and realize they look at each other the same way he and her past self did
Yuån Fèn never liked to be jealous. He hated it, finding that emotion despicable.
But it was always natural to him, feeling the urge to hide you from every possible suitor's eyes, even now that you were completely and utterly his own. You loved him, and he loved you, that was all.
But he had instincts, and it's complicated to control them or satisfy them when the one that causes this emotion is a spirit that lives in his head.
When did Wukong start to look at you in that way? When did it happen? When he merged with him? When you both vowed each other your loves? Or it was something that had grown with time?
Despite his desire to attack something that was more in his head than outside of it, he had noticed that the looks on the sage's face weren't of desire or longing; they were pityful looks, like those of someone who is regretting something.
A few times I wanted to approach the subject to understand his strange new obsession with observing you, but it was always not the right time or just an avoided matter like many others. His eyes looked at you like some old man that observed the sky that changed towards time, and he wanted to know why.
Like every time he found him there, in the side of his eyes, looking at you. He was sitting on the wooden porch of your new shared house; the sunset colored the sky like the day that he had fought his shell in his mind. You were there, in the distance, playing some games with a few of the small monkeys, laughing and trying to catch them. On the sage face, a small smile.
"I know you're in my head, but I would appreciate it if you could stop staring at her."
He waited for a response from the former king, only to meet silence. He sighed, explaining why he was so difficult. He followed him to his spot on the porch, looking at you falling in the grass while a small monkey had climbed on your chest.
"At least you could tell me the reason?"
"The smile is the same."
YuĂĄn Fèn looked at him confused. He expected everythingâsome remarks, a stupoid jokeâinstead he was talking like that now.
"...Same?"
"Yes, the same... I wonder... but if it's true, or the karma it's an amazing thing, or It just love to play dirty games."
"Oh, please!" he burst out, passing a hand on his head. "Spill it out! Tell me and let's get it over it!"
A frown appears on Wukong's face. That was hard to face for many reasons: restment, some shame, some desire to Just don't think about it. But mostly, it was the fact that it was all his doing and it was hard to digest.
"You remember my wife, Kid?"
"The untold story, yes, what about it?"
"And you know how cycles and reincarnation work, right?"
Yuån Fèn looked at him, trying to connect. Once it was done, his surprised expression turned into a sad one.
"But... she came from another world... she can't possibly..."
"That made it worst... She wasn't made to come here, but something still brought her back here, to you...and to me."
"Sadly," he continued, with a grin that showed all of his pointing teeth. "I won't be the one enjoying her! Good for you, guess."
The younger monkey wanted to make a comment about the comment but found himself uncapable to even do that. He felt just a sense of sadness and cruelty in these big schemes.
Once, they were lovers. Now he was just a projection of his mind, and you didn't even know. Was she still asleep? Maybe she just didn't want to see him... Was she still angry or in pain for being put second to the monk? Tò face death for his plan?
He pondered a little... and then he went to talk with you.
///
"Are you sure about it?"
"Yes."
"You're trembling..." His hand caressed your cheek, trying to bring comfort to your unspoken fear.
"I just... I don't want anything to happen to you. And... well, I'm going to talk to him... it's just really a big thing for me."
He knew it was crazy, but something. He talked to Wukong, asking him about it, and he just stayed there, watching buffled about it. He made the Great Sage buffled... That's new...
"I know, it's crazy... But...he would make him happy, I think."
"Well, if it's a way for him to stop his midnight talk with you, then okay! Let's do it! and I watched the Exorcist! So I know what to do in the worst scenario!"
He laughed about it; he really didn't want to know what your plan was in case the thing didn't work.
But he loved you, and he knew that he would let anything happen to you, not even by his own hand...possessed hand.
He took a big breath, closed his eyes, and stratified to concentrate. He needed to clean his mind from every doubt, emotion, and thoughtâhe needed to make space.
A wave reached to him, and he felt like he was going underwater. There was no right, left, up or down, only the void. This is where Wukong belonged, and now... he needed to take his place.
When Yuån Fèn opened his eyes back, you knew that what was in front of you wasn't him. His warm eyes were so fiery that they could set you whole on fire; his kind expression now was stoic, fuelled with an ancient power that could have crushed you any time.
So that was the feeling when you were in front of Sun Wukong.
You tried to look as normal as you could while those two golden and blood-red eyes kept on studying you, but you only felt the urge to run and hide, to call back Yuån Fèn and call you out...but you couldn't, because you too knew that it was important.
"Ehm..." you cleared your voice. "G-great sage? ...Mister SWukong?...whoever lives in my fiancè head? I'm... well, I guess you know me."
His hands grasped you by your shoulder; he held you mid-air, analyzing you with a new look. He was scared; he was shocked. He was speechless. And you were scaredâso fucking scared.
"Hold on, hold on, calm down, mister Sage. I don't think it's-"
Before you could really call for Yuån Fèn, you could feel his arms around you, holding you with desperation, like you could disappear. His hands trembled, holding your dress to the point that you thought that he wanted to rip it off. His chest trembled so much... and his hot tears were falling on your shoulder.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, my love! It's all my fault!"
His loud cry, his hiccups, his moan of painâthis painâthis was Wukong pain. After so many years...
"You were right; you were always right! I was mistaken! I just wanted the world to see that we were important and that you were important! But... but I dragged you down. I should have protected you, listened to you, and failed as a husband."
He cried louder, harder, collapsing on his knee and bringing you down with him. So it was true...he wnated justice for himself and his wife, just like the book said...
"My precious one, my only light, my one treasure! I ruined every chance; I ruined you! IO wanted to have our life back, and instead I... lost you again! Please! Plase, I'm sorry!"
You didn't know what to do or what to sayâhe was desperate. There was no word you could say to a pain that was there, lingering and fermenting for this long. You were afraid to touch him even. You prayed to have at least one idea, one suggestion!
Maybe someone responded... or just gave you the right words to say.
"My beloved..." His eyes widened; your pained expression was so soft in his eyes for his pain and desperation. "There's nothing to apologize...not anymore. We had given the miracle to be found by each other, and I'm grateful for that. I had always loved you, and forever I will."
Your hand gently caressed his pained expression, caressing away those fat tears. His hand stopped you from leaving his face, holding like trying to melt in you.
"Forgive me."
"I forgive you."
"I was so lost..."
"Now we're found."
And when he hugged you, you felt like a weight on your shoulder, like someone pulling him closer.
///
When he woke up, his face just hurt. He couldn't open his eyes without the need to wash them, and he felt like he needed to drink an entire lake. His head on your legs, your hand caressing his hair.
"...What happened?"
"You passed out after crying for hours."
"That explains why I feel my eyes hurt."
You hummed; keep on caressing his features, now more relaxed than ever. He took your hand, placing a kiss on your knuckles. Somehow, this scene seemed nostalgic, like you saw it before...maybe in another life.
Despite the curious thing, you fell into bliss and were at peace with yourself.

âDonât cry.â
Eddie Munson x female reader
summary: a spa session with your new boyfriend turns out to be both of your breaking points.
requested by anonymous! i hope you like it and that I did it justice! i kind of took it and ran. i made it much more deep than i initially planned, so i hope you like it!
warnings: talk of sexual abuse and rape, with both eddie and reader, angst and tears, language, mentions of drug dealing and absent parents. reader is struggling to connect with eddie and he doesnât know why, kinda leaves in a cliffhanger??
Sometimes Eddie wondered if you liked him, because half the time it didnât seem like you did. Youâd become stand-offish, quiet, shrink in on yourself. His âAre you okay?â was always met with an âIâm fine.â and nothing more. It always seemed like you were protecting yourself. Not just from him, but from everyone. You loved his friends, but sometimes they scared you. You never knew who to trust. Would one of them hurt you, given the chance?
One thing was for sure though, you loved Wayne. He was like the father you never had growing up. From the way he talked, looked, his personality, it reminded you of a father. Eddie was extremely lucky to grow up with him while he did.
Eddie wasnât stupid, however, he knew some of your behavior had to do with your upbringing. Youâd shared some of it with him before, time and time again, here and there. Youâd grown up pretty similarly to him. Dead beat parents that abused you, surrounded by their friends who eyed you like a piece of meat for them to chew on. When you grow up like that, youâre bound to be a little messed up. Eddie understood that. He was the same way.
But with you, it was different. He didnât want you to feel that way around him. The relationship hadnât been going on for that long and was still fairly fresh, but he wanted you to trust him. And even dating might have been a stretch, you were just very good friends who werenât very good friends with anyone else.
You liked Eddie, maybe even loved him, but there was no lying when it came to the fact you were struggling to connect with him. Could you really trust him? Was he just like the men from your childhood? Would he fuck you and ultimately leave once he got his full satisfaction? Youâd cried yourself to sleep many of times during the night at the thought.
Sometimes you didnât feel safe. Not with him, not with his friends. You only ever felt truly safe with Wayne. You didnât know why. You hated the way you felt. Eddie was a good man. He was good to you. He had yet to do anything that proved otherwise. But the dark corners of your mind lingered closer and closer to the edge, reminding you of what once was your reality on the daily. You hoped this time it was different.
âI like this color on you.â Eddieâs tongue was stuck out in concentration, one hand holding your foot, the other holding the brush of the pink nail polish bottle. âItâs cute.â
âPink?â You smirked. âYou like pink?â
âOn you.â His lashes fluttered up to you briefly.
The gesture was cute, but anytime he did something sweet like this you couldnât help but think if he was luring you into a trap. Your stomach was littered with jitters and nerves. Day by day your anxiety was staring to become more out of control. You thought about ending things with him. It wasnât fair to him to not give the relationship your all, but you couldnât bring yourself to do it. Youâd miss him dearly.
âWell, thanks.â You smiled softly. âI donât like painting them by myself. The angle is too hard.â
He muttered a Mhm with his tongue out, blowing on your little toe so the pain would dry. âI used to paint my nails black when I was a teenager.â He said.
âReally?â You said amusedly. âWhyâd you stop?â
âGot out of the habit, I guess.â He dipped the brush back in the bottle. âPlus, not that I cared, but kids at school were givinâ me shit about it.â
You knew Eddie had the same childhood you did, in some sense anyways. Eddie wouldnât talk about it much, especially never about his mother. But his dad was something you knew struck a nerve. You should share your traumas together, thatâs what you always told yourself. You knew you both could relate to one another, but the relationship was still too fresh. Maybe neither was ready for that.
âWant me to do your fingers?â Eddie asked, blowing on your last toe as he finished up his fine work. âI gotta say, babe, I did pretty good.â
You flexed your freshly painted toes and grinned at his work. âYou did! Thank you.â
He put the bottle on the table and plopped down beside you on the couch, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. âSo what now? Whatâs next on the spa list?â He smirked and you did the same, laughing breathily.
âI wonât make you succumb to all my girly stuff.â You laughed. âAnything I can do for you? Your hair looks like it needs brushed a little.â
âWhat?â He gave you an incredulous look. âI keep my hair very much maintained, thank you.â
âI didnât say you didnât, Eddie.â You rolled your eyes. âAll I said was it needed brushed a little.â
You hopped up and got your plastic hairbrush from the bathroom, pointing at him with it when you returned. âYour turn to be pampered. Sit on the floor.â
He shook his head amusedly and sat down where you had, your legs falling at the sides of his shoulders as you gently began combing out his curls. He didnât mean to, but he sighed in content.
âFeel good?â You gave a shit eating grin.
âYouâre a-lot gentler than Wayne used to be.â He relaxed under your touch. âHe always pulled at my hair and got it more ratted up than it already was. This feels good.â
You smiled at the mention of Wayne. âWell, Iâve got a womanâs touch, honey.â
âYes, you do.â
It was quiet and peaceful for a while as you brushed his hair, the both of you content in the silence. When he touched your ankle, caressing it, your heart began to pound. You hadnât had sex with him yet. You were too scared to. You knew it was time, it had been almost two months and you knew Eddie had long since been ready to sleep with you.
It wasnât that you didnât want to. You did. You fantasized about him just as much as he did you, but you were terrified of him leaving once you finally crossed that line. Out of instinct, you brought your legs up to you, sitting criss-cross like he was.
You heard him sigh and your stomach ached with guilt. You should give him what he wants.
âIâm sorry.â You say guiltily.
âYou never let me touch you.â Eddie said flatly, staring at the ground as you continued to brush his hair. âAnd you wonât tell me why.â
Your eyes teared up and you stopped brushing, bringing it down to your lap. âIâm sorry.â
âThatâs all you say.â He shook his head. âYou donât need to be sorry. You just need to tell me why I scare you so bad.â
âYou donât.â You denied, trying your hardest to convince him. When he said things like this, you felt foolish for thinking the way that you did. âItâs just- itâs- itâs just me.â
Eddie turned around, looking up at you to find you with tears in your face. âIf it wasnât true you wouldnât be crying. Donât I deserve the truth, Y/n? Have I donât anything at all to make you scared of me?â
âNo.â You sniffled, getting off the couch to go into the kitchen of his trailer. âYou havenât.â
Eddie watched you, becoming more and more anxious by the second. He sat there, waiting for his answer, anything but no. âDo you want to break up?â
âNo!â You cried, shaking your head wildly. âNo, thatâs not what I want.â
âYou donât even like me, Y/n.â He scoffed to himself, closing in, becoming cold and shutting down. Something he hadnât done in a long time. âYou wonât open up to me. I can barely touch you. You look like youâre disgusted to be around me.â
âThatâs not true!â You snapped, taking a step toward him. âStop saying shit like that!â
âThen you say something for a change!â He argued back, not moving from his spot on the floor.
âBut itâs so stupid!â You shook your head. âItâs ridiculous!â
He gave you a look. He was waiting and he wouldnât back out this time. Either that, or he was going to break up with you. The thought made you want to vomit. Maybe you did care more deeply for him than you were letting on.
âWe donât talk about what happened when we were kids,â You sighed through tears, voice breaking. âWeâre..both the same, but we donât talk about it.â
Eddieâs eyes narrowed as you began, wondering after all, if he wanted to hear where you were going with this.
âMom wasnât around, so that left dad and his friends.â You stared at him, being as open and honest as you could now. There was no beating around the bush with this. âIâŚJesus,â You shook your head, running a hand through your hair. âI didnât know that it wasnât normal at the time, but theyâdâŚtheyâd use me.â You took a deep breath after the last word. No stopping now.
âThey would play poker, touch me, rape me.â You werenât crying anymore, talking mostly to yourself now at this point. âAnd I know you would never do that to me, Eddie, but sometimes Iâm so afraid of it happening again and I just shut down.â You closed your eyes. âYou touch me and Iâm so afraid youâll abandon me once we sleep together. Thatâs all anyone has ever done in my life.â
âFuck me, then leave.â You sniffled. âThatâs all they ever do.â
Eddieâs eyes were drooping, slightly narrowed and brows furrowed. He shook his head softly, you almost missed it, and you knew youâd made him at a loss for words.
He looked up to you briefly, licking his lips before he spoke. âThere was this one guy my dad would deal for,â He began. âHe was a big dude, almost seven foot. I was only thirteen. But dad would bring him into the house and heâŚwould look at me. Just watch me wherever I went.â He stared at his hands, not daring to look at you.
âI think he payed dad.â His voice broke, but he refused to let any tears fall. âBecause I screamed and screamed and he wouldnât come.â
You let out an audibly gasp and covered your mask, your heart falling to the floor with a splat.
âOh, god, Eddie,â You crawled to the floor and knelt beside him.
âItâs okay.â He stopped your apologies. âI didnât tell you for you to be sorry for me. I told you because you need to know youâre not alone, and not everyone is out to get you. Youâre safe with me. I want you to believe that.â
You let out a wet sob, tears rolling down your red face. âHow do I stop being scared? I want to be with you.â
He smiled softly, a finger swiping at a tear. âWe have all the time in the world for that, angel.â
You grabbed his arm and laid your head against his shoulder, sobbing like a broken child.
âOh, baby,â He kissed your forehead. âDonât cry.â
It would be a long road to recovery, but you could both do it together. Slowly, every day you would both open up to each other about what you went through, and day by day, it would get easier.

until one of us caves
Rolan x Reader
Summary:Â After fighting Lorroakan, you decide to stay with Rolan.
A/N:Â I know that like maybe three people are gonna read this but I couldn't care less. The more I learned about Rolan's story, the bigger of a soft spot I got, and this little thought wouldn't leave my head so I had to write this down. Nothing serious, just something I wish I could do in the game. Also, this story kinda drifted a little from the original plan about halfway through and started writing itself, so don't blame me if the quality is dubious lmao. Requests for him are open I guess, if anyone's interested.
Word count: 3k
Masterlist
The scent of smoke and ash hung in the air. Stones and mud, remains of the elementals, littered the floor of Ramazith's Tower; as well as a few burned books here and there, smashed furniture, and splatters of blood in the marble. It would take a while to get the place back to the glory it could hold, but you figured it was doable.
The body of its previous master lay lifeless on the floor, spine broken, skin torn. You held no pity for him, only resentment.
From the corner of your eyes, you could spot a twitching tail and clenched fists, staring blankly at the body of his tormentor. He said nothing, merely huffed and walked away before you could think of saying anything, your gaze followed his steps.
The time between when you'd first set foot in Sorcerous Sundries and now had gone by in a haze. You had stopped dead in your tracks then, breath hitching as you caught sight of the countless bruises on Rolan's skin, and an overwhelming sense of protectiveness took over you. You'd walked up to him, the words "Who did this to you?" were stumbling past your lips before he even had the chance to utter the practiced greeting. Rolan had evaded the matter, as you'd expected, building ever higher walls around himself. And you'd surprised yourself with how restless the sight of him had made you feel.
"Soldier?" Karlach's hand on your shoulder pulled you back to the present, making you quickly turn your head back to her.
You blinked several times until your eyes regained their focus; "yeah?"
She gave you a halfhearted smile and you wondered just how much your turmoil showed on your face. "I was just asking if you're alright, and⌠where do we go from here." Her voice held kindness to it, as it usually did. More often than not Karlach was, surprisingly, a calming balm in your hectic days.
"Uh-" you hesitated. Perhaps you should already be used to being the one people turned to in search of guidance, leadership. But it was a title you'd never really asked for, was it?
"You guys should go ahead, dispose of him somewhere," you gestured to Lorroakan's lifeless form, "before anyone walks in on⌠all of this."
Karlach nodded along and then raised a brow at you. "And what of you?" She asked, yet there was a smirk on her lips that alluded to the fact that she already knew the answer.
"I'll hang back." Your cheeks warmed up, "I'll meet you guys at Elfsong later."
"Take your time, soldier," Karlach winked at you, then turned to hurl the dead Wizard's body over her shoulder. "Right let's go people, nothing left to see here."
"And how exactly do you intend to walk around the city with that?" Shadowheart asked exasperatedly, yet followed Karlach to the swirling portal nonetheless.
The tiefling shrugged, holding Lorroakan's body with one arm, "I don't know. If anyone asks we'll just say he's drunk or something."
"Are you out of your mind?"
"Oh, I want to see that."
Shadowheart and Astarion added simultaneously, one rolling her eyes and the other smiling brightly.
"Alright then, you think of some excuse for-"
You chuckled at the banter of your companions, their voices growing distant as they disappeared through the portal that would take them back to the bustle of Sorcerous Sundries.
With a deep breath in and a long exhale out, you turned around, gaze slowly roaming over the empty expanse of the luxurious tower; now so quiet, bordering on serene, save for the damage the battle left behind. Until you finally spotted the one you were looking for.
Rolan was tucked away in a shadowy corner, head bowed as he stacked a few fallen books on his hands and then beside each other on the shelves. His movements all stiff and slow, as if the books were much too heavy and it hurt to carry them.
The worry twirling in your stomach threatened to escape as you took careful steps towards him. Yet you still weren't sure how to approach him. The tower suddenly held a nearly intimate air. It was delicate, fragile. The lines between you and him had started to blur, you couldn't pinpoint when, but they did; and now, in the privacy of the high tower, you started to feel the weight of it.
You cleared your throat, but the tiefling didn't turn to look at you, though his shoulders relaxed ever so slightly. You wondered if he knew you'd stayed, or perhaps hoped you would.
"Rolan⌠would you like some help with organizing things a little? At least for the night?" You tried, unsure what else you could possibly say and biting back the urge to tell him that he looked like he needed a good night's rest. He wouldn't admit it, you knew; but the fight had taken a huge toll on his already bruised body. He looked utterly exhausted; shoulders slumped, tail laying limply on the floor, barely holding himself together.
He turned his head to glance at you, an unreadable expression on his face, and lips hovering with uncertainty for a moment. "No, I can manageâŚ" Rolan's voice was quiet, his features softly highlighted by the last fading rays of sunshine coming through the tall windows. You could see the bruises on his cheek, jaw, and noseâsome new, some old; darker shades blooming on his reddish skin.
"You can go," he turned away again.
"Are you⌠sure?" You took half a step forward, fidgeting with your own hands. You didn't feel like leaving him just yet.
"Yes. I'm sure." He finally faced you fully in a quick motion, eyebrows slightly furrowed, "I'm not a helpless child, I can at least take care of organizing this mess by myself, if nothing else."
You closed your eyes momentarily at his words, "That's- that's not what I meant, I know you can-"
"What is it you want then? That I thank you for saving my sorry ass? Again?" His tone held bite to it, anger even, yet you had a feeling that it wasn't directed at you, but at himself. With a huff, he threw aside the one book he still held in his hands, "Okay then, thank you, your heroic attitude of the day has been achieved." He gestured toward you, speaking as if he had been just another thing to check off your list.
The movement of his mouth had pried open a fresh cut he had on his lip. Rolan didn't seem to notice, but the small sliver of blood glinted in the low light. Your heart ached, but not for his words, they were mostly empty. It ached because you saw how much he was hurting. That defeated look lingered in his golden eyes, the same you'd seen at Last Light Inn when he had been incapable of rescuing his siblings. You wished you could tell him he was enough. You wished he would believe you.
You took in a steadying breath, holding onto your composure for both of your sakes. "It's not about being a hero, Rolan, it's about helping the people I care about."
Another scoff fell past his lips, he avoided your eyes, looking distantly out the window beside him; "What are you doing here then?"
You merely raised an eyebrow at him, features soft, allowing him to believe in whatever he wanted to believe.
His throat worked through a heavy gulp when he glanced at you again, tail swishing behind him as he took half a step back. "Sod off," the words came out heavy and unstable, "You came here because Lorroakan was after your Aasimar friend⌠Your job is done now, you can leave." He stormed past you then, quick steps taking him to the other side of the tower.
With a roll of your eyes, you followed after him, "I came here because I care about you, too." You tried to convey as much sincerity in your words as you could, staring intently at his back as he raised a fallen chair. You caught a glimpse of his tail, coiled tightly around his own leg. You wondered if he even realizes he's doing it, if it's some kind of self-soothing habit he's learned over the years.
His hair had been undone, too, falling freely over his shoulders and looking a tad longer than what you were used to. The look suited himâa touch of softness in his usually sharp appearanceâin the back of your mind you promised yourself to tell him that someday.
Several beats of silence went by. With Rolan holding tightly onto the back of the wooden chair. You tended to be annoyingly insistent, the tiefling thought to himself. Ever since the first time he met you, you had a habit of refusing to give up on people. On him. Rolan tried to tell himself it didn't get to him, that the butterflies in his stomach, and the overwhelming relief your mere presence brought him meant absolutely nothing. Because of course, you wouldn't look twice at someone like him, would you?
It was ironically sad that his heart would choose youâthe hero, his heroâof all people, to have a soft spot for. He could never measure up, not really, and he knew that; told himself that very fact over and over whenever his mind dared to hope with what-ifs.
"You don't mean that," his voice was small and he berated himself for allowing it to be. He closed his eyes tightly, knuckles growing white with his grip on the chair. "And I was fine," Rolan emphasized the words yet he didn't know anymore if he was trying to convince you or himself.
Silence engulfed the tower again. Deafening silence. One sharp claw tapped the back of the wooden chair, a fast rhythm, following the heartbeat thundering through his veins. With a defeated sigh, Rolan turned to face you. Still, he refused to meet your eyes, focusing instead on the fabric of your glove wrapped around your hand; he could see faint scars on your fingers, wondered how you got them.
"Were you, really?" You asked then, softly, near desperately; waiting with bated breath for him to just look at you.
Rolan was a little difficult to get to, had been since you first met him. Part of you rather enjoyed your harmless bickering every now and then. Behind the witty words, there had always been hidden smiles and bashful eyes, the hopeful glint of being in each other's presence, if briefly.
Alas, you weren't exactly entitled to pry or demand, much as you cared for him it wasn't your place, so you relented; "Tell me you're alright, truly alright, and I'll leave if that's what you want so bad."
Rolan hesitated for a heartbeat, and then two, and three. Any words he might want to say were stuck in his throat, tangled in between feelings that confused the hells out of him. How could he ever tell you that he's not alright? That he hasn't been for a long time?
How could he tell you that he doesn't want you to leave, ever?
There was a distant stinging behind his eyes and he hated himself for it, for being so needy and vulnerable. He hated how his palms were sweaty and his heart threatened to break free of his ribcage with the speed it was beating. He hated how his knees seemed on the brink of collapsing with his weight. He hated how he suddenly felt all the bruises in his body hurting so badly, as if only now he allowed himself to feel the pain they inflicted. He hated-
A soft touch on his lower lip halted Rolan's spiraling thoughts abruptly, and his breath. With the sleeve of your robe, movement as light as a feather, you cleaned a sliver of blood that had escaped the fresh cut there. Rolan shuddered under your touch, for like a breath of fresh air after nearly drowning to death, that was all he could feel.
Pointy teeth dug into the inside of his cheek, holding back what would only be a flood of embarrassment for him if he allowed his pestering emotions to spill. His throat closed up tight, vision growing hazy until you were nothing but a blur in front of him.
There was something about the way you touched him oh so tenderly that got his walls tumbling down as if they were paper under the rain. Your hand lingered, refusing to part from him. Your fingers trailed a hesitant path to his cheek, mapping the bruises underneath- no, mapping his skin, him.
And he could crumble. Rolan felt himself falling, falling, falling.
When was the last time he felt a kind touch? one that didn't hurt or sting or threatened? He couldn't recall.
"I do mean it, I care about you, Rolan." You promised him, and only him. Whispered words dripping with affection.
The front of your boots hit his shoes as you took a final step closer. Rolan brought one hand up, his fingers closing around your wrist with urgency. Yet his hold was gentle, pressing into the veins there and feeling your pulse running beneath his fingertips. He held you there, all but begging you to stay. Words were difficult, complicated, and messy; hopefully his soul could tell you what he couldn't.
With your heart in your mouth, you mumbled; "it's okay. It's over." You're not sure if he heard or felt the words, but Rolan dipped his head forward until his forehead bumped yours.
Suddenly close wasn't close enough. You wanted to kiss away his tears, his bruises, his pain; promise him that everything would be alright now even if your own life was a sea of uncertainty.
"Why?" It fell past his lips. Such a genuine question uttered with such a small voice that it hurt you like a dagger to the heart.
"Why do these things happen to me?" Rolan's voice cracked and stumbled, his eyebrows briefly furrowed in a mix of anger and sorrow. "I-" he breathed in deep and unsteady, bright eyes welling with unshed tears that shone brightly under the soft candlelights on the walls.
You gulped back your own heartache, struggling to keep to yourself how soft he made you feel. You slowly raised your other hand to push fallen strands of hair behind his ear.
"I hoped it had a purpose," he admitted then, quiet as breath. His lower lip quivered before he spoke again, closing his eyes and leaning timidly towards your touch. "That it was a test, and he would- he would eventually stop. That I just needed to endure a while longer."
A choked sob stumbled past his lips and you felt the first of his tears landing on your thumb. Rolan shook his head, a self-deprecating scoff falling past his lips; "that I deserved it."
"Stop," you said before you could think, finally taking your hand away from his cheek, only to bury it into his hair instead. With the encouragement you knew he needed, you pulled him to you.
Rolan fell forward with no restraints, no hesitations, only a weary soul looking for solace. He buried his head between your neck and shoulder, both arms coming around your waist and squeezing tightly, to the point of his claws nearly ripping your robe.
You held him back with the same desperation, one hand tangling in between his hair and cradling his head to you. Your lips brushed the nape of his neck in a silent confession of adoration.
The fabric of your robe grew damp as silent tears fell past Rolan's defenses, his body shaking in your hold, releasing months if not years of bottled-up emotions.
With a kiss to his warm skin, embers of the fire he ignited in your heart broke free; "You could never deserve what he did to you. You're so very special, Rolan. To Cal, To LiaâŚ" You told him, slow and tender, twirling strands of his hair between your fingers, and a small smile stretched your lips when you felt him relaxing against you. "⌠To me." It was nothing but a whisper, blown into the wind only for him to hear.
Rolan's breath stumbled, you felt it in the way he gripped you tighterâif that was even possibleâand heard it in the soft gasp beside your ear.
"Please don't-" His voice broke in the middle, all husky and wobbly from his tears. "Don't say⌠that. If you don't mean-" he hesitated, fresh tears cascading freely down his cheeks, beyond any foolish attempt to be held back; they dripped down the bridge of his nose and soaked the fabric of your robe, making him curl into you all the more to hide his embarrassment from the outside world.
"Please," it was so quiet as he pleaded. For what, he wasn't entirely sure anymore. Maybe he just knew he couldn't take losing anything else.
You pulled back and Rolan felt his heart stumbling and cracking in his chest. But you were quick to mend it back together, with both hands coming up to hold his cheeks again, your thumbs brushing away the wetness there, near reverently.
"I promise," you whispered, gaze drifting ever so slightly downward before focusing back on his bright eyes. You were bold enough to lean in until the tip of your nose touched his, and as you did so you felt something coiling around your leg. You smiled; "I promise."
Rolan gulped, his mouth parting as he barely held himself back from closing the gap between you. Goosebumps littered his whole body when his upper lip accidentally brushed yours.
He pulled away but refused to loosen his grip on your waist. "I don't want you to leave," he said it so quietly, offering you his bleeding heart with a shaking hand.
Gentle fingers brushed away the messy strands of hair clinging to his forehead. When Rolan looked up, there was a loving smile on your lips, it was the first time he saw it and he already knew he'd kill to see it again.
You leaned closer, and with a kiss between his brows, you said; "then I'll stay."

Old Bloodhounds
P46 | he's going to pay
You stared at the city mortuary. Gangnam in the daytime is poppy and bright, lined with riches and luxury. Gangnam at night, however, was when the devils came out to play. Gangnam nightlife is erratic and explosive, deadly and fraught with danger , the morgue was never empty because of it. Fatal overdose, beaten to death, unknown corpses, and mangled bodies. You were still desensitised to it, to your misery.
The fact that you could look at it head on without getting nauseous was a testament that you were never really meant for a life beyond Yoonsu, right?
âKid. Itâs been a while. You promised to stop smoking, remember?â Detective DoâsâKyungsooâvoice reached your ears, making you lower your cigarette.
âIâm just going through some shit right now.â You had kept that promise, but with Yoonsu back into your life and your loved ones moving on without you, you couldnât resist it.
Kyungsooâs partner, Detective Lee Taeyong, tilted his head at your language.
Kyungsoo let out a huff at you, a ghost of a smile hanging on the corner of his lips. To him, you havenât changed at all. Still rough around the edges, the same girl he had met in that godforsaken stripper joint years ago. Your gaunt face had always haunted him, in a way itâs slightly disappointing youâre still soâŚjaded.
âThis is Detective Lee Taeyong, heâs been my partner for a year now. Still a rookie.â As if on cue, Taeyong stretched out his hand, and you shook it halfheartedly.
âLetâs get inside. Iâll be with you every step of the way.â Kyungsoo gave your shoulder a squeeze, and you nodded rather stiffly.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
âThatâs him. Itâs Cha Yoonsu.â
Maybe you got too arrogant. Maybe you werenât so desensitised anymore. That would explain the bile rising in your throat at the sight of this impostor, innocent, whoâs wearing Yoonsuâs face. Your chest rose up and down rather violently, making it clear you were in distress. Kyungsoo didnât have the chance to get a grip on you before you suddenly broke out of the lab, running all the way to the front desk and almost exiting the building altogether before Kyungsoo caught up to you.
He barked out for Taeyong to buy a bottle of water from the vending machine, guiding you to sit on the waiting chairs. He knew you preferred somewhere with more privacy, but considering the only other people at the front desk area was the receptionist, it was adequate enough. When Taeyong came back with the water, he was decent enough to offer you a piece of tissue. You took it to wipe away the few stray tears that escaped your eyes.
Kyungsoo who was sitting beside youâhis knees digging into your thighsâkept his hand on your shoulder constantly.
âI thought youâd laugh and cuss at the corpse, but I guess I didnât know you as well as I thought. Heâs dead now kid, he wonât hurt you anymore.â
No, if you were still who you were as a teenager, youâd do just that. If it had been the you from just a few weeks ago, Jaehyun your brother again, Mark in your close proximity after so long, youâd break down in tearsâyou wouldnât have gotten so nauseous. It was because you were aware that the corpse lying on that slab wasnât Yoonsu. He was just another one of Yoonsuâs many victims, and you canât help but think it was you that got that poor innocent man lying on that slab, wearing the face of a monster.
This was your fault. All your fault.
But the worst thing was, youâre about to move in with Yoonsu in some podunk apartment not long after this, and leave behind the people that you yearned for.
Why did Yoonsu have to come back?
No, why was Yoonsu even borned in the first place?
Why did he have to make your life a misery? Why did he have to push you to isolate yourself from your loved ones?
You turned your head to the clear glass doors of the building, seeing Yoonsu drinking a cup of coffee from across the street, a hat covering most of his face.
Youâve had it. Heâs going to pay.
You snapped your head back to the floor, focusing on gathering yourself and calming down. When you were stable enough, you stood up, Kyungsoo following suit. He looked at you weirdly, finding your emotionless face a little off putting. You didnât look even remotely relieved with Yoonsu dead. Something was off with you, but as you turned to face him and asked if you were allowed to leave, he let you go anyway. The look behind your eyes was full of rage for some reason, and he noted you actually looked like you were gearing up for something. He watched as you walked away, a lingering feeling gnawing at the back of his mind.
Something was wrong with you, but what exactly was it?
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Yuno would always make sure not to be at home every time you were, and for the first time in a while, you couldnât feel so terrible about it anymore, even though heâs probably avoiding you for that fight you had two weeks ago. It was just three days after the concert, after you ditched him and your dad.
âWhy? Why am I not as important as he is? Please, Iâm sorry for not being there for you when you needed me most, Y/N, butâbut Iâm here now, as your brother again, so that has to mean something to you. Do you have to put that guy over me? Over Geonwoo and Woojin? When theyâve sacrificed so much for you?â Yuno never liked to raise his voice or yell, as he would seldom get so worked up enough to do so anyway.
But he canât help it. He still remembered how it felt like when he watched you walk away from the bleachers when he was just about to perform the songs that were of his own creation. Not just covers of some other artistsâ songs that he liked, but his own songs. He knew that you knew just how much that concert meant for him, so why?
Why did you have to leave and go to Junyoung? Couldnât you have put it off just for that night and watched your brother perform and live out his lifelong dream?
âHere we are again as family, but you had to throw it all away for that guy!â He yelled out at the top of his lungs, making you wince.
â...just because youâre sorry for not being there for me doesnât change the fact you werenât there for me, Yuno. Seriously, what would you know about what I went through back then?â You scoffed by the end.Â
Yuno began to place his palms on the kitchen areaâs island, head dropped down as he took in deep breaths.
âI donât know anything, Y/N, because Iâm trying to let yourself open up to me in your own paceââ
âItâs been so fucking exhausting forcing myself to open up to you guys. Itâs not like that when Iâm with Junyoung, donât you get it? Every time one of you act this way, youâd just make me regret coming clean about my past to you in the first place. God, now youâre making me wish youâd go back to treating me like a stranger again.â
âand thatâs why he doesnât want to be around you anymore. Wasnât even phased when you said you were going to move in with your precious Junyoung. Ever since the morgue visit, every time you replayed that argument you had with Yuno, your promise to get back at Yoonsu would be whispered back to you with more conviction. You were going to make him pay, doesnât matter the cost.
As you taped the last box of the stuff you're bringing along for the moving, thatâs when you noticed Yuno had left his old phone on the living areaâs coffee table. He brought a new sim card along with the new phone he brought just a few days ago, so this old phone probably had his old sim card. You took it and checkedâyes, it was still inside, and intact, and functional. With Yunoâs old phone in your hand, you stared at it for a long while, until you made a silent apology to Yuno before pocketing it. You knew he probably wanted to sell it, considering he already did a factory reset on it, but you needed it more.
You could think of a good use for it.

đđđđđ was very strict about who I placed myself around, who I befriend, what part of the sea I'm on. It was so stressful sometimes, all the rules and regulations were annoying. I just wanted to swim around the ocean and make friends.
But I had none. Not a single one until today. One of the biggest rules was to never. EVER. Go to the surface, under any circumstances. But being the air head I was I went up anyway, I wanted to see what it was like!
Seeing the sunlight peel through the seawater I gulped nervously hearing loud voices, I carefully and slowly peeked up out of the water, the first thing I noticed was the odd smell, it was like nothing like what I smelled before.
I looked around hearing laughing "Luffy for the last time you aren't prepared enough to be a pirate yet." I looked at the two humans who talked, one was a tall man with red hair, a straw hat, and three scars on his eye.
There was a shorter boy with curly black hair and brown skin "yes I am!" I watched the two talk. well more like argue...
Until I saw the shorter boy turn and walk towards me I jumped and ducked my head under the water as the boy stormed over sitting down with a pout and his arms crossed.
Fun fact about me, my fins tend to glow when I'm flustered, shy, or scared/nervous. So even if i'm hiding most likely you'll still be able to spot me, so you can guess to my surprise when I peeked through my webbed fingers and saw the black haired boy staring dead at me.
I jumped and swam away. A human boy saw me! I'm so done for! He had called out to me "hey wait up!" I guess my fins were still glowing because he followed me down the dock.
I stopped and looked back poking my head out the water "how did you swim that fast!" I was too nervous to speak "u-um...I-I..." I gulped out of nervousness.
His eyes sparkled with curiosity "hey why are you glowing so bright?" I glanced at my fins "I..don't know" he backed up as bit pointing his thumb at his chest "wait. wait. wait let me introduce myself! I'm Monkey D. Luffy! And i'm gonna be king of the pirates!"
I giggled a bit at his behavior "I-I'm Y/n L/n...nice to meet you Luffy!" I smiled at him, his face to turn pink "h-hey you glow like me!" I smiled wider lightly pulling myself up out of the water "wah! you have gills!" He pointed out.
I nodded my head excitedly "mhm!"
I liked this boy Luffy he was very fun. And he didn't seem weirded out by my fish-like appearance. I mean if I hid my gills and covered my fins people wouldn't be able to tell I was half fish.
Well the way my eyes blinked would probably give it away and my (f/c) skin would look odd...and my tail. If only I had legs...
I stayed talking to Luffy for a long while "so what's your dream?" he asked me, staring at me with unblinking eyes and a big smile. I thought for a moment "hmm...maybe...no...ah!...uh no..." I shrugged "I don't know..." Luffy laid on his stomach his legs kicked up behind him.
"Well maybe you'll think of something" he hummed.
"Hm maybe you'll figure it out later..." I nodded in agreement, Luffy stared at me for a moment "so what are you?" he asked, "I'm a mermaid" Luffy peeked his head over into the water. I lifted my tail high enough for him to see it.
"Oo wah~ so cool!" he reached his hands out and touched it gliding his fingers along my scales. I shivered and pulled my tail back into the water "m'sorry my tail is sensitive" I stated.
Looking out at the sky Y/n noticed how it was now sundown "o-oh I gotta go! It was great talking to you Luffy!" ducking my head under the water I swam away hearing Luffy yelling out a loud "Goodbye!! I hope we see each other again!"
A smile grew on my face as I swam home.
The black haired boy ran over "Shanks! Shanks!" a red haired male looked over at Luffy with a raised brow "what's got you all pumped up huh?" Luffy pointed behind himself at the docks "there wassa girl! she-she had gills! and-and fins! she had a really cool tail!" one of Shanks crew mates heard him.
He laughed "does little Luffy got a crush?" Luffy lightly blushed while yelling "No! I-I've just never seen something like her before!" Shanks took a mental note of her description.
Shanks crew mates teased Luffy about the girl for the next couple of days, but he didn't care he still decided to visit his new friend. Y/n would swim to the surface both becoming close with each other.
A friendship blooming between the two.
Asking each other about their lives on land and in the sea, "so would you ever be able to come on land?" he asked.
Y/n's tail swayed back and forth "hm..well probably not for a long time." Y/n stated tapping her chin, Luffy frowned "why not?" Y/n rested her head on her palms "well there is a special necklace that merfolk are gifted. and it lets tails turn to legs or in some rare cases some merfolk can just turn their tail to legs on their own"
Luffy smiled "so cool!" Y/n tilted her head "so who was that red haired guy with the scars" Luffy glanced back at the girl "That's Shanks! He's a pirate too! and he's the captain" speak of the devil, the red haired male came over "Luffy! who're you chatting with?"
Luffy smiled and pointed to where his new fish friend was supposed to be, "to Y/n!" Y/n quickly ducked her head under the water out of fright, but sadly her fins began to glow. Shanks smirked "oi no need to be frightened" he stated, squatting down to where the mermaid was.
Y/n slowly peeked her head up muttering a small "hi..." Shanks smiled at her "hello so you're this Y/n Luffy has been yapping on about" her fins started to glow brighter, she nodded her head.
Suddenly she remembered she had a gift for Luffy, "oh Luffy! I got you a gift, m-my grandpa said it's always good to give a friend a gift."
Luffy perked up "is it food?" he asked, Y/n frowned "did you...did you want food?" "yeah!-" "he'll take the gift" Shanks interrupted Luffy.
Lifting her hand out of the water Y/n placed a closed oyster next to Luffy who eagarly snatched it up opening it.
Y/n grew nervous as Luffy didn't say anything, quickly she spoke "i-it's a b-bracelet. i-if you don't l-like it I can take it back. u-unless you do like it! I mean i-it's not all that g-great. ya'know what nevermind.I-" the rambling girl was hushed when she felt the boy hug her tightly while laughing.
His body almost fell into the water by how far he was leaning off the edge, Shanks picked up the gorgeous bracelet staring at it.
Luffy yanked it back putting it on excitedly, he lightly shook it around the soft clinks of the charms and sea glass making his smile grow wider.
Y/n looked up at the two "so do you like it?" he nodded his head "I love it!"
Shanks smiled at the two "looks like someone has a crush..." he laughed loudly, Y/n glowed "o-oh look at the time!" Luffy cheeks grew pink as he denied what Shanks said.
Y/n pulled herself up enough to sit on the docks most of her tail still in the water, she hugged the black haired boy "bye Luffy" he hugged her back his arms around her torso squeezing her tightly. Letting go Luffy waved goodbye "bye bye Y/n!" she sent one last smile to him and swam away.
â° â° â°
Swimming past other sea creatures I saw a shark swimming by, I giggled and swam over to it circling around it. It nudged me I smiled and swam away the shark following me. As I went deeper into the water the shark swam away, I saw my siblings swim up to me quickly "where have you been?" they asked me.
I blinked "um just swimming around, ya'know" my oldest brother swam up to me eyeing me his arms crossed, gulped feel my fins glow.
"Y/n..."
I started to sweat. Even if you couldn't tell. My other siblings swam closer looking at me with curiosity, "I-I...was just-"
"Y/n."
Without thinking I blurted out "I went to the surface!" all of them froze in place "you. did. What?!" my oldest brother shouted, I gulped "I-I went to the surface..." he pitched the bridge of his nose.
"Is that why you've been gone all those hours?" I slowly nodded, my other brothers smiled "so cool! I've never been to the surface!"
"I heard it was scary!"
"I heard the people smell weird"
"I heard-"
"Enough! If father finds out about this"
"Finds out about what?"
All of us hushed turning around to see our father, he looked at us with a raised brow. Thinking quickly one of my brothers spoke "your surprise gift!" all of us sighed with fake disappointment "oops..."
My father shook his head "alright, Y/n come follow me." I gulped nervously and followed after him. I tried to keep my fins from glowing, "is there something you need father?" he nodded but didn't say a word.
I followed him through our home far past any of our rooms. He put his hand up to the door a light purple glow emitting from his palm, I 'awed' at the sight the door opened. The room we entered was softly "Y/n i've never told your older brothers about this but....i'm trust you with this Y/n." pulling open a clam mouth he grabbed something.
Turning around I saw a beautiful light green necklace I reached out to touch it but my father pulled it away. "All of your brothers have one but they aren't to use them until they are ready." he stated I tilted my head in confusion "this necklace holds the power to turn your tail to legs" my eyes lit up as I smiled "r-really I thought-" "once you are old enough you may wear it as you please."
I was so giddy about wearing the necklace I started to space out but my father snapped his fingers in front of my face "Y/n listen to me. This necklace is important, it was your mothers. It is very important to our family" I frowned at the mention of the woman.
"One day you will get to wear it just as she did. she would be proud" I smiled and looked down "alright let's go, I don't want the boys getting suspicious about their gifts" I giggled and swam out the room my father follow close behind me before seemingly locking it again.
As the night went on I stayed awake wanting to go to that room again. An idea popping into my mind, maybe I could surprise Luffy tomorrow. Closing my eyes I fell asleep a warm feeling wrapping around my body.

Gone
Summary: Based on this request.
Warnings: Mentions of Death
A/N: This is shorter than I would've liked, and I don't know it I really hit the mark with it. But hopefully you all like it, I also don't know why I had such troubles getting it finished but I did, also thank you to the wonderful anon who helped me with ideas. :)
You were sitting in the locker room when your phone rang, it was your Mum, she never called, she hates you, it must be an accident, you let it go to voicemail, however she rang again.
âSorry it's my Mum, I should take it,â Alexia nodded but you knew deep down she would be confused.
_
âIâve got some good news,â she cackled, âWell I guess you wonât think it's good news, your father is dead, he was hit by a car.â She hung up. Your dad was your number one supporter, he gave up so much for you, you really didnât want to go to Barça and leave him but you did, you spoke to him every night, just last night he was discussing your game today with you.
âEverything okay,â Alexia asked as you walked back in. Alexia found out about your situation one night and took you under her wing, she became like a mother figure to you, so you knew it would be a struggle to hide this from her.
âYep,â you said, putting up a strong fake front, hoping she believed it.
âOkay,â she replied with a weak smile, you just hoped she had believed you.
This match was for your Dad, you were going to play for him.
In the 80th minute of the game you took a corner, and for the third time that match you had managed to hit the back of the net, you had just made a hat-trick, as you run to your team to celebrate you kiss your hand and put it to your heart whilst pointing to the sky, a celebration that wouldnât have been understood by a single person in that stadium.Â
When the whistle blew, you felt a weight drop on you, as a single tear rolled down your cheek, you immediately panicked, you couldnât break, you couldnât break here, in front of thousands of people and your team. So you ran, you sprinted down the tunnel and into the locker room, quickly grabbing your bag before heading straight to your car, the press wasn't there yet thankfully. You ignored Alexiaâs cries of your name as she followed after you trying to get you to stop, but you didn't. You jumped into your car and drove off, you could see defeated Alexia in your rearview mirror, as she dragged her feet walking back into the stadium.
_____
You were sitting on your couch, just staring blankly at a spot on your wall, you felt nothing, no emotions, you were just sitting there and starting. Until your âpeaceâ was disturbed by a pounding at the door. You got up and walked towards the door.
You opened the door and saw Alexia standing there, Mapi and Ingrid were behind her.
âY/N, why did you leave early, you know that is not on, Jonatan is not happy with you, why did you go? You better have a very good excuse.â She yelled at you, you didnât reply, just stood there giving her your blank stare.
âBebita?â she says furrowing her brow, growing slightly concerned. You felt hot tears start to prick in your eyes, you felt your throat tighten at the emotion. You opened your mouth trying to say something, anything, but all that left was a choked sob, your knees buckled under you as you collapsed onto the floor, Alexia quickly responded by scooping you up, and sitting on the couch, placing you in her lap. You curled into a ball, trying to hide away from the world.
Alexia held you tightly, rocking slightly as she whispered reassuring words into your ear, sobs wracked your body as the reality of what had happened started to sink deeper in, breaking your heart more with every minute, your body was shaking, your breath was shallow and rapid, soon you felt dizzy.
âY/N/N, can you take some deep breaths? Follow my lead.â You took a few deep breaths with Alexia.
âWhatâs wrong?â Alexia asked you, voice laced with concern.
âH-heâs, h-heâs d-de-dead.â You managed to stutter out between sobs.
âOh Bebita, Iâm so sorry, is that why she called?â you nodded, âWhy didnât you tell us?â You just shrugged, you didnât want to respond to her, you didnât want to admit why, but she knew and you knew she knew, but you still didn't want to actually admit it and say it out loud. With a tender touch Alexia lifted your head, your gaze met hers, you knew she would feel bad about herself for the reason so you continued to stay silent. âAmor, you can tell us anything.â
âI-I I didnât want to be a burden, and I-I didnât want to bring anything up for you before the gameâ you admitted with a quiet voice before letting out a shaky breath.
âAmor, you could never be a burden to us, you are familia, our familia, and never feel like you need to protect me Amor. Itâs my job to protect you, and look out for you, even more so now. I promise you, we will never judge you, we all love you. Never not tell us something that is hurting you, por favour.â Her voice was unwavering, you nodded, Mapi and Ingrid came to sit next to you and Alexia.
âWe will always care about you, you can tell us anything, any time no matter how big or small.â Ingrid told you and the other two nodded in agreement.
âIâm sorry,â you said with a small sniffle, Alexia didn't say anything, she just placed a kiss on your forehead.

I Made You Breakfast
Kai Parker x Reader
Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
Written for my personal fic writing challenge for 2024, Sophie's Year of Fic! Featuring a new fic being posted every Friday, all year long :)
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries
Summary: Kai's on his apology tour, and Y/N is his next stop after things didn't go too well with Damon or Bonnie
Word Count: 2,000
Category: Fluff, Humor, a little bit of Angst
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
I sighed to myself as I headed downstairs in my favorite pair of sweats, mentally making a list of everything I had to do today. It was an unfortunately long list, compounded by the latest supernatural drama, which my friends insisted on dragging me into. Bonnie had finally made it home from the prison world, thankfully, but that didn't mean any of the drama in our lives had gone away. In fact, it had almost doubled, with news of Damon's mother floating around in another prison world somewhere. I got halfway through an eyeroll at the memory of everything going on lately when I stopped dead in my tracks.
I could smell bacon, eggs, and toast wafting up towards me from the kitchen. Someone was here, in my house, cooking breakfast. And with everything going on lately, I knew for a fact it wasn't one of my friends.
I glanced around, grabbing a stake off the nearest end table. No vampire should have been able to get into my house unless they were a friend I'd already let in, but I'd had enough near-death experiences despite that fact that I was constantly prepared.
I crept towards the kitchen, trying to listen for any signs of trap or trouble. All I could hear was a faint clinking of plates. If someone had seriously broken into my house, why the hell were they just hanging out in my kitchen making breakfast?
I got my answer a second later when I burst through the door, going for the element of surprise, and found none other than Kai Parker standing before me.
"Oh, hey!" he said, jumping and spinning to face me with wide eyes. "You're up!"
"...Yup. And... you're here. In my kitchen. Making breakfast."
"Yeah! I hope you like it. Here, let me get your plate. I thought I'd have a few more minutes."
With that, he turned to the stove and starting scooping scrambled eggs and toast onto a plate. I just watched him, not moving an inch.
"Kai?"
"Yeah?"
"What the hell are you doing in my house?"
He turned back around to look at me again, his eyes wide and the plate half-finished in his hand. After a moment, his expression morphed into a sheepish grin. I just blinked at him, my expression unchanging.
"Well, after I merged with Luke, I started getting all these... feelings." He said the word like somebody else might say 'zits' or 'rash'. "And one of those has been guilt, for some of the stuff I put you through. Or I guess, your friends, mostly. I tried apologizing to Bonnie earlier, and... it didn't go well."
His expression darkened, and I frowned. But a moment later, the clouds apparently cleared, and Kai fixed me with a beaming smile again.
"So I thought I'd try again with you. In the Prison World, I saw Damon making Bonnie breakfast all the time, and she seemed to really like that. So I figured you might, too."
I just stared at him for a few long moments without saying anything. I turned my options over and over in my mind, trying to get my still half-asleep brain to make a rational choice. I probably should've been incredibly freaked out that Kai was here at all, but I'd actually had a few positive interactions with him even before the whole merge thing, and had kind of started to like him. Or, at least, started to think he had some ally potential, despite other things he did. We'd even bonded over music taste and his new fascination with social media, and he'd tried to help Sheriff Forbes, although it hadn't necessarily been out of the goodness of his heart. For some reason, I just couldn't muster the fear or anger I probably should've been feeling when I looked at him in my house. Finally, I sighed, my mind made up. No reason to try to force bad feelings when they wouldn't come on their own, right?
"Thanks, Kai," I said, actually meaning it as I moved over to the dining table. "Aside from the fact that you broke into my house to do it... that's actually pretty sweet."
He beamed at me, and I found myself returning his smile. He turned back around to finish making my plate, and I shook my head. This was absolutely ridiculous, but I couldn't say I minded very much.
"Here you go!" he said, setting the plate down in front of me with a big smile. He didn't move away, just standing off to the side and watching me expectantly. I picked up my fork, but didn't take my eyes off Kai.
"...Aren't you gonna join me?"
"Oh! Right. You know, I've been practicing how I was going to do this in my head all morning, and now that I'm actually doing it it's like I completely forgot everything I was planning to do. That's weird, right?"
I shrugged. "I mean, sounds like a normal part of being nervous to me."
He nodded emphatically as he returned to the table and sat across from me with a breakfast plate of his own.
"All these new... emotions from Luke have been, like, super weird. I don't know how you all deal with these all the time."
"Eh, yeah, they can be annoying sometimes. It gets easier with practice though, and I'd say on the whole they're a positive experience."
Kai nodded thoughtfully, taking a bite of his eggs as his gaze wandered around my kitchen. I took a few bites of my own food, and I had to admit, he was a surprisingly good cook.
"So..." I started. "Was this it for the apology? It's a great breakfast, but usually an apology has a little more attached..."
"Oh!" Kai's attention snapped back to me. "No no, this isn't it. I was planning to do the other part of the apology while we ate breakfast."
"Makes sense. Go for it."
He cleared his throat and shifted around in his seat, then met my eyes before hesitating again. I tried to look encouraging as I ate my eggs, and after a moment, he nodded to himself and continued.
"I'm sorry for trying to kill your friend, and testing out my power on her. And that I couldn't save your other friend's mom, even though I really couldn't do anything about that. I still... I still feel bad. And honestly, I'm mostly sorry for everything I've done that hurt you, even if it was indirectly. I... I actually really like you, and so, uh... I don't want you to hate me. I keep getting this stabbing pain in my chest when I think about it... or when I think about that time I saw you crying over Bonnie..."
He trailed off, staring at the table instead of me, apparently lost in thought. After a moment though, he shook his head and cleared his throat, looking back up to meet my stare again. His blue eyes were wider than usual, his eyebrows pulling together, and he looked to be in actual distress for maybe the first time I'd ever seen, at least when his life wasn't being threatened.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I promise not to do anything to hurt you again. Will you give me a second chance?"
The corner of my mouth quirked up in a smile, especially at the rare senserity in his tone. I knew my friends would have quite a few things to say about this decision, but I didn't let myself think about that. At least not right now.
I sighed. "Kai, despite the fact that you broke into my house, I'm going to believe you about this whole 'turning over new leaf' thing. I... I'd be lying if I said I didn't like you too. So, if you really mean what you're saying about not hurting me or the people I care about anymore?"
He nodded so fast I was actually a little worried about him.
"Completely serious. Cross my heart and hope to die. I'm ready to join the Mystic Falls Scooby Doo team for good."
I smiled, laughing a little and shaking my head.
"Well, okay then. I can't promise anybody else on the team will be quite as easy to convince as me, but... I forgive you, Kai. I'm happy to see you like this. And, by the way, you make some very good eggs and toast."
"Thanks. I had to get good at cooking, you know, alone in the Prison World." A shadow passed over his face again, until I reached across the table and lightly rested my hand on top of his. Then, his face lit up like the sun. "And thanks for giving me a second chance. I promise, you won't regret it."
I wasn't totally sure I believed that, but I decided not to say so. Instead, I smiled and gave his hand a little squeeze before pulling back.
After a moment of silence where I could see Kai vibrating with the desire to say whatever he was holding back, he finally blurted out the other thing he'd apparently been planning to ask me this morning.
"So... I might be a little rusty about how all this works, or if it's changed since the eighties, but... would you want to go out with me sometime? Like on a date?"
I smiled, then buried my face in my hands. My friends would kill me if I said yes to this, but despite myself, I really, really wanted to.
"What's wrong?" Kai asked. I shook my head and looked up at him again.
"Nothing, Kai, I just... ugh, my friends are really not going to like this."
He smiled. "Does that mean you're saying yes?"
I took a deep breath and let it out, then shrugged and matched his smile with one of my own.
"Yeah. Yeah, I think it does. What the hell, right?"
"That's great! I was thinking we could go do karaoke? I've always loved karaoke. I got good at it when I was passing time in the Prison World."
"I have to warn you, I am very much not good at karaoke. But I'll still sing my heart out with you anyway, if you want to go!"
"Perfect! We can go tonight." I laughed, and Kai's expression immediately dropped. "Is that okay? Do you not want to go tonight?"
"No, Kai, I do. It's a little fast, honestly, but I don't mind. Why wait?"
"That's exactly what I was thinking. So... should I pick you up? Around seven? We could get dinner first, and then go."
"I think that sounds like a great plan, Kai," I smiled at him, which he immediately returned. A moment later, though, his hand shot up to clutch at his chest.
"Ugh, what is... what is happening to me? Why does my heart feel like it's about to explode?"
"That's probably excitement, Kai, or butterflies, which are like positive nerves. I'm feeling them too. It's because we're looking forward to going out together tonight."
Kai made a face. "This is what people were talking about when they said they got butterflies? This is terrible." I hid a laugh behind my hand, and Kai's eyes snapped up to mine. "Wait. You said you were feeling it too?"
I nodded, and Kai's expression immediately changed to a wide grin.
"So you're excited, too?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I am."
He nodded, the smile staying on his face as he dug in to his eggs again, glancing at me between almost every bite. I just shook my head, a smile on my own face all the same. This was going to be an adventure, going on a date with Kai Parker, and I knew my friends were going to want to murder me for it. But I couldn't totally bring myself to care.
Despite some pretty rocky history, I had a weirdly good feeling about Kai, from the moment he'd started his apology speech this morning. And so far, I'd never been wrong when I trusted my gut for stuff like this, even when it led me into karaoke. I had a good feeling it was going to be right about Kai Parker, too.

So i have this oc, she's technically dead, doesn't have a heart beat or need to breathe.
Remy's reaction to catching her asleep and not breathing?
Still as Death
Remy had always been drawn to your quiet, mysterious nature. You were different from the others at Xavierâs, and not just because of your mutation. There was something about the way you carried yourselfâcalm, steady, yet somehow distant. It intrigued him. He didnât know the full extent of your powers, but he knew enough to understand that you were⌠unique.
Your mutation meant that you didnât have a heartbeat. You didnât need to breathe, eat, or sleepâat least not in the traditional sense. Technically, you were dead, though you moved and spoke as if you were alive like anyone else. It never seemed to bother you, and you rarely talked about it, but that didnât stop Gambit from wondering what it must be like.
One evening, he was wandering through the halls of the mansion, a deck of cards in hand, shuffling them absentmindedly as he passed by your room. The door was slightly ajar, just enough for him to catch a glimpse inside. He paused, curiosity pulling him closer.
There you were, lying on the bed, eyes closed, your body completely still.
At first, he didnât think much of itâuntil he noticed something off. You werenât moving. Not in the way a person normally would while sleeping. There was no gentle rise and fall of your chest, no quiet sound of breath escaping your lips.
Remyâs heart skipped a beat, panic rushing through him. He quickly pushed the door open, his mind racing. Had something happened to you? Were you okay? He rushed to your side, dropping to his knees beside the bed, his hands hovering just above your still form.
"Mon dieu, chĂŠrie," he whispered, his voice shaky. "YâainâtâŚ"
He gently placed a hand on your shoulder, shaking you slightly. "Wake up," he murmured, fear tightening in his chest.
When you didnât respond immediately, Remyâs mind went to the worst possible place. You looked so peaceful, but that only made the sight more terrifying to him. His hand moved to your wrist, searching desperately for a pulse, forgetting for a moment that there wouldnât be one.
But then, after what felt like an eternity, you stirred. Slowly, your eyes fluttered open, and you blinked up at him, confused by the panic in his expression.
"Remy?" you murmured, your voice soft and groggy from sleep.
He let out a shaky breath, relief flooding his system as he sat back on his heels, running a hand through his hair. "Ma chère, you scared the life outta me!" he exclaimed, his accent thicker with the surge of emotion. "I thought somethinâ happened. You werenât breathinâ, werenât movinââŚ"
You blinked at him, the confusion slowly fading as you realized what had happened. A soft, sheepish smile tugged at your lips.
"Remy⌠I donât breathe, remember?"
He stared at you for a moment, the reality of your words sinking in. Of course. He knew that. He knew your mutation meant you didnât have to breathe, but in that moment of panic, all logic had flown out the window. Heâd been so scared, so convinced that something had happened to you.
"You were sleepinâ, and you looked so stillâŚ" His voice trailed off as he tried to shake the fear that still lingered. "Guess I forgot for a minute."
You sat up slowly, placing a gentle hand on his arm. "Iâm sorry, Remy. I didnât mean to scare you."
He let out a breath, rubbing the back of his neck with a nervous chuckle. "Well, ya did a good job of it," he muttered, though there was no anger in his voice. Just relief.
Your thumb brushed over his arm, and you offered him a soft, understanding smile. "Itâs okay. Iâm okay."
Remy shook his head, still feeling the adrenaline coursing through him. "I donât care what kinda powers yâgot, chĂŠrie. I see you not breathinâ, Iâm gonna panic."
You smiled a little wider, touched by his concern. "Guess Iâll have to make sure you know Iâm alright next time."
He met your gaze, his usual playful smirk returning, though it was tinged with sincerity. "Please do. This olâ heart canât take losinâ you like that."
You chuckled softly, the sound easing the last bit of tension between you. "Iâll try not to give you any more heart attacks."
Remyâs eyes softened as he reached up, gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. "Yâknow, it donât matter if yâdonât need to breathe or donât got a heartbeat. Youâre more alive to me than anyone else in this place."
His words made your heart swell in your chestâan odd sensation for someone who technically didnât have one. But Remy always had a way of making you feel like more than your mutation, more than just what you appeared to be.
You leaned into his touch, feeling the warmth of his hand against your cool skin. "Thanks, Remy."
He grinned, his crimson eyes twinkling with affection. "Anytime, ma chère. Just promise me yâwonât scare me like that again."
You nodded, still smiling as you rested your head against his shoulder. "I promise."
And as he wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer, you knew that no matter how different you were, Remy would always see you for who you really were. Alive, and completely irreplaceable.

Two idiots in love. (P5)
Joel Miller x anemic!reader
Summary: Henry and Sam interrupt the trio's plan. And Joel says something that will either make or break what he has with the reader.
Warning: blood, guns, Infected, fighting, cursing
Masterlist
Part 1 and 6
.........................................................
Joel was on his knees behind Y/N, digging through her hair, checking the injury on the back of her head. "Well, good news. Just a little scrape. Head bleeds more than the rest of the body, so it only looks like it's bad."
She hummed before looking over her shoulder at him. When she felt him staring at her, she completely swiveled on the ground to face him. His eyes were studying her closely.
She sighed, "âŚwhy do you do that?"
His eyebrows furrowed, "Do what?"
She wasn't sure how to even explain her thoughts, so she dropped it, "Just⌠nothing."
Joel didn't want to push her anymore than she already had been today, so he dropped it, too. "Go lay down, Darlin."
She smiled, standing up, "âŚThere's that accent again."
He scoffed under his breath, standing too.Â
This seemed to be the longest Ellie had been quiet. So, she took it upon herself to break the moment, "How long are we gonna be here?"
Joel sighed, "We'll survey the roof in the morning."
Then he started scattering glass around the door, leading all the way to their makeshift beds, which consisted of old couch cushions.Â
The sound of glass falling was killing their ears, and finally, Ellie yelled out, "Joel!"
He stopped, "What?"
"What are you doing?"
"I don't want someone sneaking' up on us while we're sleepin'."
"Oh! I get it. Crunch, crunch, crunch." She got a smirk, "Are you sure you're gonna hear it?"
"Of course, I'll hear it. That's the damn point."
âŚ
Joel woke up to the sound of Y/N's panicked voice. "Joel"
"JOEL!"
His eyes opened.
Ellie was held at gunpoint by a man in his twenties.
Y/N was still seated on the ground with her hands up in surrender.
Joel turned.
A young boy held a gun to Joel's head.
The man spoke up quickly, "Eyes on me."
Joel simply stared at him, determining his next move.
The man continued, "You don't have to worry about what to say. We don't wanna hurt you. We wanna help you."
Joel's voice was strained, "OkayâŚ"
"Okay⌠um⌠I don't know what the next step is with something like this, but⌠if I lower my gun⌠We didn't hurt you, so you don't hurt us, right?"
Joel's eyes never left the man. "That's right."
The man tilted his head in panic, "That's a weird fucking tone, man."
Ellie spoke up, "That's just the way he sounds. He has an asshole voice. Joel, tell him he's okay."
"Everything is great."
Y/N looked over her shoulder. "JoelâŚ"
The man was confused, "Fuck. Okay. I'm gonna trust you."
He began to sign to the boy. They communicated back and forth a few times before he spoke up again, "Okay. But if you guys try anything⌠yeah?"
Silence ensued before the man motioned for the boy to step back.Â
Joel's jaw clenched when they didn't pull their guns away, "Can I sit up?"
"âŚYeah. Slow. Get up slow."
Joel did so, keeping his hands raised, "Who are you?"
"My name's Henry. That's my brother, Sam."
âŚ
The five sat in the building around a lantern, eating rations.
"Where did you get these?" Henry asked.
"From Bill," Ellie answered. "He's dead."
Joel reached out, giving the rest of his portion to Sam, who took it happily. He motioned to Henry.
Henry spoke up again, "He says thank you. I'm guessing you don't have much, so, this means a lot."
Ellie smiled, "How old is he?"
"He's eight."
"Cool. I'm Ellie."
Henry's eyes moved to Y/N, waiting for an introduction.Â
She felt his gaze, "Oh. Uh. Y/N."
When Joel didn't answer, Ellie slapped his leg.
He grunted. "I'm Joel. Look, you ate, we didn't kill each other, let's call this a win-win and move on."
Henry nodded, "Well, I'm betting that y'all came up here to get a view of the city and plan a way out. And when the sun's up⌠I'll show you one."
âŚ
"Highways. Downtown. Us." Henry pointed out on his makeshift map. "This whole are belongs to Kathleen."
Y/N spoke up, "She's in charge?"
Joel wrapped his arm around her waist slowly and unknowingly, as if instinct. She in turn, leaned against his side.
Henry nodded, "Leader of the resistance. So. How do we get across?" He signed to Sam.
Sam wrote on his paper tablet the word tunnels.
Joel scowled, "Kansas City has a subway?"
"No, maintenance tunnels."
"Alright. Great plan. So what do you need me for?"
Henry sighed, "You noticed anything strange about this city?"
Ellie hummed, "No infected?"
"Oh, there's infected."
Y/N connected the dots, "But not on the surfaceâŚ"
Henry nodded, "Exactly."
Joel was growing angry, "So you want US going in a tunnel?"
"Everyone thinks that it's full of Infected, but I know it's not. They cleared it out like⌠three years ago."
Joel scoffed.
"Okay, so maybe there's one or two. That's why you're here."
"And what if there's more?"
"Like those ones that see like a bat?" Ellie asked.
Henry stepped back, "Wait. You ran into a clicker?"
Ellie smiled, "Two of 'em."
"And you're still alive. See? If it gets bad, we turn around."
Joel's scowl never left, "So THAT'S your plan?"
Y/N grabbed Joel's hand. "Joel Can we..?"
He leaned down, "Yeah, uh. Give us a minute"
The two walked out of the room into the hallway.
Joel sighed, "I don't know about this, sweetheart."
"Me neither."
He stared at her, "Tell me what's going on in that little head of yours."
"It's dicey but⌠it's all we have, isn't it? And that would make four people dependent on you."
He nodded, "How do you know we can trust this guy?"
She smiled, "Look at him, Joel. He wouldn't hurt a fucking fly. The guy is harmless."
"What if he harms you?"
She stopped. "Is that what you're worried about?"
Joel sighed, "I'm always worried. About you," he stops, trying to cover the meaning of his words, "âŚand Ellie. You and Ellie."
"Well," she continued, "Trust me about this one thing. When have I steered you wrong?"
Joel stepped back in thought, "That one time when-"
"-Yeah. Okay. I heard enough." She walked past him into the room. "Henry, we'll do it."
Joel was so blindly in love with her.Â
âŚ
Here they sat in a safe room in the tunnel, waiting for daylight to end.
Y/N still hadn't recovered from yesterday's events, so Joel was insistent that she rest.
But when she tired to lay on the ground, he held her up, dragging her over to the table as he sat in a chair.
He pulled her into his lap, "Floor's too cold. You'll get sick."
That's how she ended up asleep in his lap, her head tucked in the crook of his neck as she slumbered.
"You know," Henry said, "I didn't take you as the⌠caring type."
Joel scoffed, "What?"
"With your⌠your wife," he pointed to Y/N in his lap, "and your daughter," pointing to Ellie.
Joel's voice hardened, "This isn't my family."
Henry stepped back from the chair, "Sorry, man. I⌠I just thought-"
"-well, you thought wrong."
He thought Y/N was asleep, but she wasn't.Â
And she heard every word.
âŚ
The group exited the tunnels, beyond happy that their plan was working.
Ellie smiled, "So, cross the river, and then what? Where are you guys gonna go?"
"Don't know yet," Henry thought, "Probably gonna head toward-"
Gunshot.
They all ducked.
Joel grabbed at each person, "Move. Move! GO!"
They hid behind a car.
Henry was panicked, "Where is that coming from?"
Joel turned, "Shut up."
He turned to Ellie and Y/N, "You don't move, and he's not gonna hit you. I'm gonna go around, try to get in the house through the back."
"But if you go out there, he's gonna kill you." Ellie protested.
"It's dark and he has shit aim. No one is gonna kill me." He leaned towards her, "Do you trust me?"
She nodded.
He turned to Y/N, "You'll be alright."
She leaned in towards him, "Just⌠be careful."
He reached forward, taking a strand of her hair in between his fingers and studying it, as if it will be his last chance to. "I will be."
âŚ
Joel's voice was heard from their hiding place, "RUN!"
Y/N's head perked up, "Ellie. We gotta go."
Headlights.
And soon, a snow plough began clearing out the cars leading up to the four.
They ran as fast as they could, hearing Joel firing at the car from his place in the house.
He managed to hit the driver, making the vehicle crash into the house.
It caused an explosion.
Joel watched carefully trying to locate Y/N and Ellie through the smoke.
Kathleen exited her vehicle, soldiers following suit.
And the four were hiding behind a car.
Henry spoke up, "I'll come out! Just⌠let the others go."
Kathleen smiled, "No. Sorry. The girls are with the man who killed Bryan. And Sam⌠well⌠Sam is with you."
"You don't understand!"
The snow plough suddenly fell through the building and into the tunnel, causing a massive hole to show.
And the sound of Infected.
The four began to run as Infected ran out from the tunnels.
In the chaos, Y/N had lost Ellie.Â
She made it to the tree line, looking back for her.
When Ellie was nowhere, she grumbled, taking out her gun from her pack, and going back out.
She dodged Infecting, shooting at some as she went.
When one grabbed at her arm, a bullet moved straight through its head.
Joel.
She looked up to the house in gratitude before continuing.
She finally found Ellie stabbing at Infected that were trying to attack Henry and Sam. She ran as fast as she could to them, helping Ellie finish the job. "C'mon."
Y/N led them all back to the tree line. They were only feet away when Kathleen stopped them, her gun aimed carefully. "Stop."
They watched an Infected jump at her and begin to rip at her face.Â
They were all frozen.
Joel grabbed at Y/N from behind. "This way. Now. Move!"
She jumped, turning around as they others began to run, "Thank you."
He nodded "Let's go."
âŚ
"Think they'll be okay?" Henry asked.
They all sat in an abandoned house, the kids in the bedroom reading a comic book, the adults in the living room.
"Yeah. It's easier when you're a kid anyway."
Y/N stood on shaky legs, "I need fresh air."
Joel's eyes watched her carefully, "Hey. Don't wander, alright?"
She turns back with a defiant look, "Not like you'd care."
And she shut the door behind her.
âŚ
Joel stepped outside a little while later.Â
Y/N was sitting on the porch steps, staring out at the stars.
He stood behind her, "You alright?"
She turned as far as she could towards him, "I'm fine."
Joel didn't like that answer.
He sighed, moving to sit next to her. When she didn't look at him, he grabbed her jaw gently, pulling it towards him. His voice was soft, as it always was with her, "Hey. You're obviously not fine. And what the hell was that back there? Tell me what's going on."
She stared into his eyes, trying to decide what to say to him.
He tried to make her sit in the silence, but even he couldn't handle it. "How am I supposed to fix what's wrong if I don't know what it is, sweet girl?"
She scoffed, "I just wish you'd stop doing that."
"Doing what?"
She turned her head away from his hand, "Quit looking at me⌠like⌠like that."
Joel looked confused, "I don't get it."
She sighed deeply, "You look at me and you talk to me like⌠like I mean something to you, Joel. It's frustrating."
He leaned back in shock. "You⌠you think I⌠I don't care about you?"
She laughed slightly, standing up and walking out into the yard slightly, "You've made that much clear, Joel. You said it yourself."
How could she think that? Joel began to ponder anything and everything he's ever said to her. It was angering him, "I've never said those words to you. I care about you."
"Only because I'm Tess's sister."
"Watch. Your. Mouth."
She paused, watching Joel stand on the stairs. Her tone dropped to a quiet mumble, "I think I've been on this journey long enough. I should just go."
Joel stepped down one of the stairs, "I've already said it before. You're not going anywhere. I want you here."
"Don't fucking lie to me, Joel!" She yelled, "You don't even consider me family!"
Oh.Â
She heard that.
He sighed, trying to control his tone, "No one wants you to leave. I need you on this trip⌠and Ellie. She needs you."
"I just want you to be honest."
"What do you want from me, baby?"
They just stared at each other.
"I want you to tell me what you want from me, Joel."
He stood in thought, before descending the stairs. "There are no wants in this world now, sweet girl. You and I both know that."
"You don't need me to be around. I'm extra weight."
"LISTEN TO ME WHEN I TELL YOU YOU'RE FUCKING NOT!"
Her eyes hardened at his loud tone. "Don't try to spare my feelings. You don't want me around and I see it. JustâŚ" her eyes saddened at his look, "âŚstop looking at me like that. Please."
She moved past him, going back up the porch stairs.
"Darlin', wait."
She sighed, turning around.
But she was thrown off by the sudden feeling of his lips on hers.Â
One hand wrapped around her waist, the other across her back, pulling her closer.
He pulled away.
"There are no wants in this world, but I do. I want you."
Her eyes scanned his face inquisitively, checking for the truth.
"You can look all day, sweet girl. I'll always tell you the truth. Please, stay."
She nodded, pulling away from his arms. "Okay. I'll⌠I'll stay."
His shoulders slumped slightly. "Uh...good."
He moved past her to go inside, but she gently tugged at his sleeve.
He turned to her.
And she kissed him back.
He hummed into the kiss, pulling her to him once again.
He had always wondered how soft her lips were.Â
And now he knew.Â
She pulled away this time, "Let's go inside. I'm fucking cold."
Joel chuckled. He shrugged off his jacket, placing around her shoulders. "I think I like it out here more." He gently kissed her lips again. "I'll keep you warm."
She smiled, "I love when you look at me like that."

132. Blush
⥠Pairing - Vash x Reader
⥠Word count - 0.6k
⥠Warnings - none
⥠Description: You're very distracted while mending Vash's coat.
Part of the 150 Bullets drabble series on AO3.
You try to stop staring.
You really try.
The teal lining of Vashâs coat sits open on your lap. Youâd offered to patch up the tears within, noting strings of blue hanging off the cuffs and closure. As hardy as his coat is, the inside is nearly as torn up as the man himself.
But that isnât what youâre staring at. No.
Itâs your friend and the brick house build he was hiding under the coat.
His broad back is turned to you. It feels like an eclipse. Vash is messing with lunch, letting out hums and little clicks of the tongue as the food cooks in the blazing sunsâ rays. The outcroppingâs shade keeps you cool enough. Still, you feel sweat slide down your back, and you have to squint against the metallic shine from the nearby town.
You donât know how he handles the heat. Eyes roving over his figure (his very large, very interesting figure), you boggle at the black turtleneck. Itâs not a thick shirt by any means, but still. How is he not baking? And the coat on top of it!
Looking back to the coat on your lap, you pinch the fabric between two fingers and rub. It lets out a skeet-skrt sound. Very hardy. You donât know how bullets bounce off it. You glance at Vash again. Heâs soâŚbig. How did you miss it? How do the bullets miss someone so big? You trace the line of his back, the rounded muscles of his shoulders, his slim waist. He reaches for some powdered potatoes and water, and you see the delicate bunch of his forearmâs muscles when he grabs them. Your mouth waters.
As if sensing your stare, Vash looks back at you. His smile is instant and pleasant. âWhatcha thinkinâ about?â
A blush overtakes your throat, and youâre left clearing it and looking anywhere but him. âJustâŚwondering how youâre not hot wearing all of this.â There. A half-truth.
Vash pauses and looks down at his clothes as if seeing them for the first time. Then, he chuckles and goes back to cooking. âGuess Iâm just used to the heat!â
Thatâs a lie. No one is used to the heat of this dead planet. But youâve already dodged one bullet; you arenât about to start prying into what he doesnât want you to know. So, you go back to staring. He stirs whatâs in the pan. It sizzles and pops, and you watch his bicep and forearm bunch and contract with use. His other limb â the robotic one â holds the pan steady.
What would it take for him to hold you steady?
You prick your finger suddenly and hiss. Youâd forgotten you were even sewing. A blot of blood wells on the tip. Reaching for your medikit, youâre aware of Vashâs eyes suddenly on you. Again, you feel embarrassed; that familiar flush to your skin. âIâm fine,â you say, bringing out a small Band-Aid and wrapping it quickly around. You hold up your finger to show. âSee?â
Vash shakes his head and stirs the meal. âYou donât have to do that, you know. I can mend my coat.â
âI know,â you say, then scramble for something else to reassure him, âbut then Iâd have to be the one cooking, and Iâd definitely get sweat in it.â
Vash laughs. âGross.â
A smile comes to your lips. It falls away again when you look him over. His large stature, his resistance to heat, his easy smile whenever something goes wrongâŚWhat else are you hiding? You wonder. Taking up needle and thread again, you force yourself to focus on sewing up the holes and tears heâs endured.
Maybe, in time, youâll be able to do it to his heart, too.
