I think last week cellbit mentioned on stream how he missed jaiden bc they would usually talk off stream, and that people probably didn't know just how much she would log in bc she doesn't stream every time she is on the server. And also I'm thinking of how jaiden mentioned she and quackity talk a lot on the server and off of it, off stream. I'm also thinking of how roier was kinda low yesterday bc of his bad internet connection and how he had to leave a challenge he was psrticipating and mentioned having been talking to cellbit on discord. And how he and quackity were both off stream but could be seen in the qsmp server. And then how all four of them were just hanging out, off rp, mostly, talking and joking and speaking in their own languages sometimes. And how the day before yesterday foolish, roier, richas and cellbit were also just hanging out till the server closed. Thinking of all the new people being welcomed and everyone looking after them. Thinking of how I was hopping from one stream to another and there were emoticons from lots of streamers in lots of different chats of different ccs. Idk. I just love qsmp, and I think the ccs truly are having a blast and building their own friendships away from the server and inside of it. I know the community is not always nice and I'm not trying to romanticize it, but. Yesterday was pretty cool

Do you like writing? Do you like Minecraft youtubers? Do you, perhaps, like writing about Minecraft youtubers? Well, we do too! Only problem is, we often stay up late wagging our fists at a half-finished document, cursing the fact that writing is hard, life is busy and there's just not enough time in the day to sit down and make a good fic. Well, if you’re looking for a quick little block people centered writing challenge, then boy, do we have just the mini-event for you!

Welcome everyone to the 2024 (first ever!) MCYT Drabble Exchange!

RULES: 1. As per Tumblr and AO3 TOS, you must be over 13 to participate. 2. You agree to create a work of exactly 100 words by the given deadline, or contact a mod on Tumblr for your giftee to be reassigned. 3. You agree to abide by your giftee’s DNW. 4. So, what is a drabble?  A drabble is a written work made up of exactly 100 words. Typically viewed as a challenge, drabbles are often meant to test a writer’s skill in brevity, seeing how efficiently they can communicate emotions or ideas through such tight restrictions. For this event, we are using this unique format to bring the joy of MCYT into the world! Think, how would a lighthearted interaction between Tubbo and Tommy play out? How many insults could Grian hurl at Jimmy? How much emotion can you squeeze out of QSMP Jaiden if you’ve only got her in your little writer hands for 100 words? For this event, we encourage you to be creative, try some new things, and most importantly, have fun!   (To get a feel of what you’re working with, keep in mind that the previous paragraph has a word count of 120, twenty words over your limit!)

Are violent/triggering topics allowed? As MCYT content can often include violence, character death, murder games, and other such themes, we do allow them. However those are opt-in - if your giftee hasn’t asked for it, then don’t write it. If you do end up writing about these topics, make sure to tag appropriately! 

What if I can’t finish on time? Contact us on this blog as soon as possible! A pinch hit will be sent out, and your giftee will be reassigned. If you do endup requesting a pinch hit, you will still get your own gift!

How will the matches be made? After the sign ups are done, the event mods will match everyone to ensure everyone gets to write what they signed up for! Once matches are made, you will receive your assignment via Tumblr DMs.

Can I make more than one gift? Of course! As long as it complies with your giftee’s requests you’re welcome to write as many drabbles as your heart desires!

Q!Cellbit being canonically asexual is so precious to me and something we must never forget 🙏

The way he so nervously expressed it only to be met with q!Roier's completely unbothered and accepting response is so dear to me. This server has incredible representation in identities in general if we consider it:

q!Phil being unlabeled, q!Tina and q!Bagi dating, q!Pac and q!Fit dating, spiderbit being in a LITERAL marriage, q!Roier and q!Jaiden being platonic co-parents, q!Maximus' asexuality, q!Jaiden being Aroace, and so on and so forth!

It's so wonderful to me seeing such a broad range of identities that aren't brushed over or ignored as a minor aspect of their character's whole, but instead are treated seriously and as something really significant when playing those characters. It's apparent in how unapologetically queer the SMP is, and how readily everyone accepts it, that this server is so accepting and welcoming, unashamed to proudly canonize all these things without skirting corners or being vague about it.

q!Cellbit and q!Roier are most literally married. You cannot make up some excuse for it as some strange individuals might attempt to, and the CCs behind the characters put in so much effort into making the marriage matter so quintisencially to both characters that - ajjdbfjrjfngngg.

I love how the spiderbit relationship is still so full of life and joy, destroying any acephobic stereotype that relationships cannot be 'complete' without sex or sexual activity.

I know these are just cubitos, but in a sense it's just so relieving to me seeing all this representation of a community that gets talked over and discriminated against so often.

I adored seeing how q!Cellbit coming out as asexual didn't change anything in the relationship at all, how easily q!Roier accepted this fact and didn't question him on it was such a breath of fresh air.

Lore is angsty, and I've been writing a lot of angst. Here's my idea of something a bit more domestic, a family dinner:

Four am was an odd time for dinner, but things are already odd on the island to start with.

It started with Roier and Cellbit getting back to their castle late, after going back and forth with theories, jokes, and flirts (mostly the latter two). It was already three thirty a.m. by the time they started on making something to eat. Even though the couple had eaten meals alone before, that idea felt extra lonely today. Cellbit typed out an open invite on his communicator.

>Me and Roier are making dinner if anyone wants to join us.

It only took six minutes before somebody arrived. It was Mouse, and she was holding a holding a plate with a cake on top of it. Cellbit was a bit confused, but she explained how she brought a dessert since typically people eat dessert after dinner. The cake got placed in the middle of the table, a lovely center peice. They quickly fell into soft conversation, which included Cellbit teaching Mouse how to say some more words in Portuguese.

Five minutes later, more people appeared. It was Fit, Pac and Tubbo. Tubbo was covered in what looked to be grease, which he was trying to get off his hands with a rag. Pac was covered in some kind of dirt or dust. He had probably just finished building or was at least taking a break. Fit was complaining about how accident prone the duo was and how they would have been here even sooner if it weren't for that fact. Conversation turned to Tubbo attempting to explain how the machine he was making worked.

Soon, Jaiden appeared, and Roier came out of the kitchen to greet her. She jokingly kissed the back of his hand, and the Roier loudly complained about this was the only kiss he had gotten all day. It was an outright lie, but Cellbit could help but take the opportunity to kiss Roier. Jaiden laughed, almost like this was planned and knowing those two it probably was. The new conversation was Jaiden trying to convince the entire group of her belief in Hatuse Miku.

Not too long after Antoine and Etoiles showed up. Cellbit honestly wasn't expecting more people, but they were definitely welcomed additions. Etoiles explained that they would have been here sooner, but he got busy with the monsters he had been fighting. Antoine didn't explain why he was also late, but nobody really asked. The conversation started up again. This time, as questions and jokes about Antoine's odd anatomy (Does he even need to eat? The answer seems to be yes). Eventually, the topic of conversation was Etoiles sword and how he even managed to get in the first place.

It was Jaiden who asked about the burning smell coming from the kitchen. This question was immediately followed by Roier running back into the kitchen, swearing very loudly. Mouse held her hand over mouth in shock. Jaiden looked at Cellbit with concern. Pac covered one of his ears, and Fit looked at him with a similar look to Jaiden's. Tubbo was the one to yell loudly at Roier, asking about the food, getting flipped off, and cussed out for his troubles. Tubbo just laughed. Antoine seemed unbothered, but Etoiles asked if Roier might need any help.

Turns out the food was burnt passed being edible, and it was put to a vote on what they should eat for dinner. It was now nearly four in the morning, and the sun was just below the horizon. Suggestions included, but weren't limited to: The cake Mouse brought, avocado toast, noodles, and sandwiches. Sandwiches won the vote. Somehow, all nine of them ended in the kitchen making their own sandwich.

It was four a.m. by the time all of them had sat down with their sandwiches and conversation continued between the nine. A joke of this being the worst dinner party ever turned into a joke about this being family dinner. This joke turned into a philosophical discussion over what makes something breakfast vs. dinner.

The cake was cut at around four thirty a.m., after everyone had finished eating. A dessert to end family dinner.

He doesn't know anything about the Brazilians and the French, the Federation is far more evil than he knows, Bobby is dead, Jaiden has wings, BadBoyHalo is blue now, all the eggs have been missing for over a month, and all that doesn't even begin to communicate everything that has happened

Bringing this to Tumblr cuz I keep seeing people talk about it on Twitter but I'm not making a fucking thread right now.

Anyways, personally I just think it's a little weird how suddenly a bunch of the non English/poc qsmp members are under scrutiny for doing horrible things, to the point of people literally calling for their removal from the server, yet I have not seen a single person give any legit sources to prove these claims. Plus the accusations are never specific it's always "I think they maybe did [insert vague action] thing that's really bad" or "I've heard they did something horrible and they need to loose their platform.

Literally anytime I've seen someone ask what happened the replies have been VERBATIM, "several members have been found to be racist/homophobic/antisemitic/transphobic in the past." Like y'all can't even decide what you're even accusing them of might as well just chuck in every horrible label you know! I'm surprised misogyny isn't in there? Oh wait! That's right! These same people people are also calling for the only women on the server to be removed for things that are literally fucking harmless such as, attending the wedding of a person some people don't like, or, explaining their home country has flaws. So I guess accusing OTHER people of being sexist would be hypocritical of them.

Like no damn wonder Quackity hasn't addressed anything you guys cant even decide what needs to be addressed in the first place, just that everyone that's from a different culture than you (and sometimes even people from the same culture the way I've seen people talk about Bad and Jaiden is actually sickening) is somehow a horrific individual who is terribly bigoted. I've been watching this server almost every day for hours on end since it launched and I haven't seen anything from anyone that can't be quickly summed up to be a cultural difference or small misunderstanding that people are blowing out of the water. Like, if someone legit did something bad then it deff needs to be addressed, but that's if that thing happened less than a year ago, (especially not if it's from when they were A CHILD. Like people are trying to cancel Roier for shit he said when he was 13! 13! I'm the same age as him and I can promise that if you took shit I said from literally the same timeframe it wouldn't be pretty either!) If they haven't already apologized for it and moved on with their lives, or if it is something that is legitimately hurting people and not just something you find personally distasteful.

The qsmp is really fucking cool and it's clear that the creators involved have a lot of respect for each other so it's so disappointing that some of the fans don't have the same amount of respect. It's incredibly shameful and it makes me feel horrible just to be associated with some of these people. The whole point of this server is to break barriers and to make friends across cultures where there wouldn't have been an opportunity beforehand, and so many people are instead trying to sabotage that.

Especially from the English speaking community. We have the privilege of being an incredibly diverse and culturally complicated community (which isn't to say other communities aren't I think that ours just is especially here is the USA), and while the exposure of more cultures leads to more misunderstandings and unfortunately more straight up bigotry, we still have more exposure to diverse groups then other people do. If anyone should be understanding and welcoming it should be us! But some of you people are out here acting like fools. Once again, if someone legit did something bad, they do need to be held accountable for their actions. But way to many of you confuse being held accountable with having their entire lives upended. You also confuse "did a bad thing they need to take responsibility for." With, "they did this thing out of a lack of understanding and have since apologized, learned better, and moved on, but I'm still gonna bring it up again and hurt everyone involved because I think that making a mistake is grounds for being publicly ridiculed!" If there was something bad going on, and if people had legit proof that it IS INFACT happening because said person is a bigot and not just misguided, then I'll be behind it 100%, but after watching this dance over and over again I can't help but feel that instead of people actually being concerned that horrible people are in places of power, they're instead making up horrible accusations about normal people that are just trying to do their jobs. It really feels like there isn't an effort to actually understand where other people are coming from and instead to judge them and make them conform to your definition of socially appropriate, it's not fucking cool.

Us English speakers as a community should be holding ourselves to a higher standard because this type of behavior doesn't just make one person look bad, it paints a bad name for all of us. And please for the love of God dont immediately believe every fucking rumour you hear, and especially don't believe it if you can't find any evidence, and ESPECIALLY don't go and harass the person the rumors about! Like, I don't even know if some of the examples I used here are legit cuz I haven't seen sources/ cant find any for them, but even if they did have sources they would be total bullshit accusations anyways! Think for once instead of jumping on some hate train with all the other brainless idiots out there holy fuck.

if we are going with the federation au (theory?) which if you don't know what it is basic description is foolish, jaiden, quackity and el quackity grew up together raised by the federation before coming to the island but don't remember their time there but subconsciously are drawn to the federation examples are making deals, working for them or being foolish and actively trying to be best pals with the federation if we were to go with "they had jobs in the federation" then here is what i think what jobs they may be!

in another tumblr post @/yippiecubitos explained beautifully why jaiden wouldn't be the scientist one experimenting or building robots and such but i know people really want someone for this role which i present to youuuu Scientist El Quackity! - my reasoning for el quackity goes more with egg a1 and that maybe he is good at mimicking people but in reality would rather create and experiment testing others emotions can be apart of that - important to note here i feel like El quackity never actually separated from the federation. maybe the others had a hard time escaping and he was caught and dragged back? or the other left because they wanted to and were allowed to so he was left by himself. host quackity! - with quackity i think his purpose was to introduce people to the island and make them feel welcome and comfortable like a host would. i feel like this fits a lot especially in the early days because he was always helping both communities Spanish and English to talk to eachother. this fits a lot with him being busy a lot of the time to fix the island, fix the island and make it look nice and somewhat presentable.

-i think that making people friends with eachother and him always being busy with the island is a subconsious feeling because of his time with the federation and he takes it as "oh i just like it this certain way and i just love seeing others get along :]" because he just doesn't remember his time with the federation and doesn't have any reason to question it designer Jaiden

-this would be very fitting for her because she is a great designer as we can see in her creations examples being her drawings outside of the smp or her creation with bobby fields - i imagine her time in the federation designing things and drawing they had a specifc drawing wall with her and foolish's drawings Builder foolish -i feel like this one is quite obvious on why i have given him the builder title i mean just look up "foolish's builds minecraft" and you get to see all of the amazing things he has been able to build.

-i imagine that foolish was first a builder going through basic building instructions and having some fun with building but also had a love for making cooler buildings not basic houses but more themed he wanted to build what he drew but was unable to

-if you want to fit into the headcanon that he can choose what his height could be at any moment i think it'd be really funny to imagine what he was like in the federation building a basic house like legos or having trouble controlling his powers to the point cucurucho had to make a large room specifically for him when he was having a hard time this is what i personally believe and i think its pretty cool ngl

yeah sniff's tweet is very real. imo male creators should still be trying to invite as many women as possible onto projects, it should just be up to those creators as to whether they think they'll be treated well/be safe in those communities.

people will spout off constantly about how they want female ccs too and then when those creators come into things they'll treat them like garbage. like, i understand being reticent bc from everything ive seen particularly in the last 3-4 years, mcyt as a whole treats women like shit. (this includes hermitcraft, btw, y'all are not getting off scott-free.)

i completely get what sniff's talking about and how that impacts representation on servers-- that just means more male creators need to make it clear that not only will they work to make smps themselves welcoming to women but that they will actually call out their communities when they pull awful misogynistic shit. and ive rarely seen any men do either of those.

regardless, female ccs do not owe it to anyone to join anything theyre not comfortable with and i wish more male ccs would put the work in to make communities hospitable let alone welcoming to women.

Truth be told, Marisol has no real memories of her birth parents, or a time before she was a part of the Reyes Ortega (now de la Luna) family. She knows what happened, that her dad dropped her off with her big brother and then skipped town, but she's never been anything but happy that's how her life went. She knows that she's had a better childhood under Celia's care than she would have had anywhere else.

For as long as she could remember, Marisol knew that she was never getting out of Huntsville. She was six years old when the storm hit, and in spite of the paradox being the only existence that she had ever really known, she tried her best to make the best of a bad situation—to fill her life with purpose and meaning. She focused on doing well in school, on her many extracurricular activities, on being a good big sister to Felipe and a good friend to her close-knit circle. When she got older, she started shadowing her family members at work in order to learn their trades—primarily Mo at the nursing home, Celia at the diner, and when he came into their life a year ago, Cal at the library.

Through it all, she has managed to maintain the sunny disposition that inspired her family nickname, but that isn't to say that there isn't more to Marisol than the facade she puts up. Perhaps the reason she tries to be a good community member is because she knows how hard her mom worked to restore her reputation after it took a hit from her teen pregnancy. Perhaps the reason she wants to be a good kid who never gets into trouble is because she remembers the rumours that tore her big brother down and can see him still trying to repair the damage. And perhaps the reason she needs to remain upbeat is because she wants to keep filling that role in the lives of those she loves—the one whose smile never fades, even if it falters from time to time.

Nobody in their family knows Marisol's actual birthday—including Marisol. She was dropped off with them on Celia's birthday, and as a result of that, they celebrate Marisol's birthday then as well. (She's actually a little older.)

Aspec rep - Lesson 2 - Jaiden animations “Being not straight”

Hi and welcome back! After covering youtube animation with the last class, I thought it would be a good idea to follow suit with Jaiden animations' video.

Before we start tho, i want to make clear that we are going to respect Jaiden’s petition of not trying to guess more about her than the stuff she said, so this is not going to be about that.

Instead, I want to take this as an example of why aspec representation is important.

Jaiden’s video is really good, it covers in detail the basic information about the aro and ace identities, and it provides examples out of her own life to help people understand better. She acknowledges the fact that aspec people are different and that the identity is an spectrum, and how different experiences can coexist and still be valid.

She explains the complicated and subconscious process of questioning and struggling to understand what is going on inside aspec people, and how that can take so long and make people do stuff they don’t want to do but feel they should.

She explains the pressure of being a romantic/sexual being in a romance/sexual obsessed society, and how that doesn’t really help with the discovery or acceptance of one's aspecness.

And she talks about the loneliness that aspec people may experience. How it can originate from feeling left out of the LGBTQIA+ community since the experiences are different, or how it can present in more personal ways.

And all of that is neatly laid out on a 15mn video.

Now, one of the most important parts about her video is the impact it had on people, and how useful it has been.

It has helped people realize new things about themselves and start researching about it.

It has helped allos learn and understand about the community, and thanks to the personal examples, be able to relate to it.

It has helped so many members of the community to explain their feelings, because it’s easier to share this compact video than give an hour-long lecture trying to explain an identity that nobody has heard of.

And if one youtube video has done so much, more aspec representation could do so much more.

The illustrated cover I drew up for @aspecjournal​ that I’m so proud of! It’s up for preorders right now till March 10th :D

It took so long to get all the colours right as I wanted to get as many aspec colours as I could into the piece. purple for ace // green for aro // yellow and blue for aroace // and black and white for aspec. Plus some red to represent the bonds of fate’s connection (being broken).

I illustrated Fenrir and his two sons Sköll and Hati from norse mythology. Fenrir has always hit something within me, with the theme of destroying the world to be released from bonds forced upon you, and having two children with no reference to another parent.

I’ve always enjoyed reinterpreting monsters and villains stories into something positive, so it should be no surprise I read into his themes with a bit of a cathartic aspec lens.

And to anyone who found out about Aros and Aces through her video, Welcome!

The a-spectrum has been pretty looked over for a long time with many not even knowing we exist. It’s a very common story for aspecs, even I only discovered the identity a few years ago!

I’m so glad such a large youtuber (and one of my favourites) has been public with their aspec identity. Hopefully this will lead to many more aspecs discovering a refuge in this community. I mean the aromantic tag was in the top 5 for a while, everyone say thank you to Jaiden :P

The aspec community is here to welcome anyone who needs a refuge, even if you do find a different label later down the line.
