Miami Bike Trip - October 29 2020

Last week I went for a little bike trip by myself to find a bit of solitude. This past week was my finals week, so I was under a lot of stress and pressure to perform very well and receive good grades. Now that midterms are over, I need to squeeze out the sponge of stress and restart fresh. I like taking these kinds of alone trips whenever I need clarity for myself, and refresh myself, to bring back that optimal performance when doing class assignments. Just before going on the trip, I was assigned another homework for one of my class, and I definitely knew I needed to go for that bike ride. Finally, on the day, on a last minute, I decided to go with a bike ride that was towards the South of Miami, near the Miami eastern coast. This is typically where your find some very quiet places if on the right day. 

I’m very glad to have taken this day off and this activity. I will most likely do this again in the future.

Xindian 🚲 Sankeng Ecological Park, 110km . First time doing a metric century ride outdoors since March. My roadie has been on trainers since Omicron hit Taiwan. YouBike Challenge! Xindian - Starlight Bridge (Xizhi), 73km 🚲 Using YouBike 2.0, I rode all the way from Xindian to Dadaocheng Wharf to pick up @rikagregorio then to Rainbow Bridge to pick up @hlryanne. Day 1, Mountain-Sea Bike Trail, 46 km 🚲 Liji Badlands, a rare geological landscape which makes it look like the moon's surface, if taken at the right angle. But because I started 12nn, I decided to simply enjoy the view from my bicycle and ride to find shade. 🚲 Taitung Forest Park and Pipa Lake trails are next to each other. Very scenic and nice trails. 🚲 Xiaoyeliu, yup it's like Yehliu in the northeast but smaller and lesser people. 🚲 Old Taitung Train Station which they converted to an art village. I stopped by here to rest. 🚲 Quick hike to Liyushan peak. A great way to see Taitung from a high point. 🚲 Headed out to the sea to watch the sunset. I got a headache again so I had to go to my hostel after dark and find medicine. Luckily, the hostel has! Kenting 🚲 Kaoshiung (HSR Zuoying Sta), 107KM . Fourth and last day of my Lunar New Year cycling trip! I was able to bring my bike to a repair shop in Central Hengchun to fix the front and rear derailleurs but at 38th km mark, front stopped shifting again to the big ring so this trip took longer due to the limit in speed riding in small ring. A little bit frustrating 😤 But taking the late train worked out well, I was able to secure a spot in the train to put my bike, less people in train stations too!!!
