Midtown Cleveland Historic District
MidTown Cleveland Inc. (Agora Theatre)
5000 Euclid Avenue
Cleveland, OH 44103
The MidTown neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, runs from the Innerbelt trench to the west to E. 79th to the east, from Cedar to the south to Payne to the north. MidTown is home to more than 650 organizations, including 50 nonprofits, 12 design and architecture firms, 75 health tech and high tech ventures, dozens of manufacturers, and hundreds of small businesses. More than 18,000 people work in MidTown and over 2,000 residents call MidTown home. A portion of MidTown was added to The National Registry of Historic Places as a Historic District on February 22, 2021, joining other areas of Cleveland such as Public Square and Ohio City on this prestigious list.
The Midtown Historic District includes Prospect, Euclid, Chester, Perkins (south side), and Carnegie (north side) Aves., roughly bounded by I-90, E. 55th, East 40th, E. 30th, East 27th, Perkins Ave, and Carnegie Ave. This area of Midtown contains a rich multitude of architectural styles and community planning phases, mirroring the historic development of Cleveland and the Midtown neighborhood and reflecting the substantial history and spirit of the area via initiatives such as the I-90 Innerbelt and areas such as Millionaire's Row. MidTown Cleveland, Inc. has been serving the neighborhood for over 30 years, and has evolved from a business-focused organization working on safety, blight reduction, and networking to a hybrid economic and community development organization serving the diverse group of residents, businesses, and nonprofits who call MidTown home.
MidTown Cleveland, Inc. is located at 5000 Euclid Avenue in the historic Agora Theatre and Ballroom building (commonly known as the Cleveland Agora, or simply, the Agora), a music venue located in MidTown Cleveland, Ohio. Gary LoConti opened the first Agora on June 27, 1965, in Nick LoConti’s Nino’s pizza/ Italian wedding reception hall near the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. The building currently known as the Agora first opened on March 31, 1913, as the Metropolitan Theatre. During the mid-1940s, the theatre became a full-time movie house known as the WHK Auditorium. In 1968–69, the theater was known as the Cleveland Grande. In the early 1980s, it briefly re-opened as the New Hippodrome Theatre showing movies. Following the fire which damaged the Agora Ballroom on East 24th Street, club owner Henry LoConti, Sr. decided to move to the 5000 Euclid Avenue location.

Since establishing in 1994, Scorpio mobile disco has been providing Buxton, New Mills, Glossop & Macclesfield with a reliable, competitive service for all occasions. Now based in Hyde, I cover the whole of the North west & Cheshire too, with regular visits to Chester & Northwich.  Many bookings are for Wedding disco's, with equipment, incorporating mood lighting, a modern day glitter ball, and safe flame affects, all adding that romantic atmosphere to a special function!  As well as requests on the night, I am happy to accept advance lists where required.  Childrens parties are fun filled, I interact with games and competitions, tailored to the ages attending, all prizes are included, so parents are left free to organise the party food and light the candles on the birthday cake! Optional OLAF mascot from the film Frozen, appeals to infants and is always a hit at a Christening! For a non obligatory quote, call or text Choices of equipment  all include modern, colourful lighting and quality sound systems, all PAT tested annually. Covered by Public Liability Insurance and I am CRB checked too.dult Functions & Christening Parties. Our aim is to make every event memorable, for the right reasons, playing music to keep the guests dancing; whether this be with the latest chart music, a general mix, or a more specific playlist, we are always happy to play to the clients' requirements and give advice where required.   Christening parties are centred mainly around children attending, as well as popular music, we involve younger guests in games, party dances and bring balloon swords, sweets and prizes too, these all help ensure a fun afternoon.  To book, we ask for a small deposit to hold the date, then send the client written confirmation and ask that the balance be paid at the event.  Access to a venue is required 1 hour before the starting time of the disco, so that we can carry in and set up the equipment.  It usually only takes 30 minutes to take down and pack away at the the end of a function.  Children's parties and teen discos.  As well as playing suitable music, we interact, playing games and hosting competitions, suitable to the ages attending and bring along prizes, sweets, 2 parcels for 'Pass the Parcel' and balloon swords for a fun pirate fight!  Where the venue is local to us, no deposit is needed, payment on the day is fine. Access will be required preferably 40 minutes before the start time of a party, to allow time to carry in and set up, but it generally takes only 20 minutes to take down and away.  School discos are also welcome, we have regulars, but there is always room for more, and we try to keep within the PTA's often limited budget! For a small extra fee, Frozens Olaf will make a guest appearance and join in the fun for 30 minutes, I will need to check his availability at the time of booking a children's party!Choices of equipment  all include modern, colourful lighting and quality sound systems, all PAT tested annually.
