4 Reasons To Consider Wedding Event Management Service For Destination Wedding In Alaska
Tumblr media
If you want to say your vows to the person you love the most in an exotic location with a scenic overlook—perhaps surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains, Mat-Su Valley in Alaska is a perfect destination for your wedding. But how will you plan your wedding at a location far from your place? It’s simple! With the wedding event management service, you can plan your big day and throw a grand party with minimal effort. Event venue and planning specialists arrange everything for you as desired, making your dream come true. Let’s look at more reasons to hire an event planner for your destination wedding in Alaska.
Wedding planners plan out your schedule
Weddings are lavish events! And organizing them is not like a walk in the park for someone with little experience. When you want everything to be as perfect as you have always imagined, leave the organization task per your timeline on a planner. An experienced event planner will pull everything together in time. Besides arranging and organizing every element, they guide guests through the ceremony and reception. They give cues to everyone for when to walk, getting everyone in order before and during the ceremony.
Wedding planners have reliable connections
When you plan a destination wedding, you have little knowledge about the location. No matter how often you have visited the place, the chances are good that you don’t know local wedding vendors. If you don’t want your experience to get ruined, let a wedding planner handle the vendors for the big day. Event planners generally have connections with photographers, florists, caterers, and other vendors. They also have experience in effectively communicating with them so you don’t have to spend more than expected and everything goes as required.
Wedding planners figure out the logistics
You may be familiar with the destination you chose for the wedding, but taking care of logistics, especially on the big day, can be challenging. The wedding event management service takes care of everything on your behalf. Reliable wedding planners provide your assistance before and on the day of the wedding. While you get dressed and celebrate your special day with your family and friends, event planners double-check everything—Whether or not bouquets have arrived or place cards are in the right spots.
Wedding planners will be there for you
Planning a destination wedding in Alaska can overwhelm you and your partner. When you have an event planner, you get answers to all questions and concerns. If you encounter any problem before and during the wedding, your wedding planner will provide immediate and satisfactory solutions, ensuring nothing goes wrong. Besides, when you have a reliable person to look after everything, you stay relaxed and comfortable on your big day, enjoy every moment, and dance the night away with your loved ones. If you are convinced to plan a destination in Mat-Su valley, look for wedding event management services in Alaska and hire professional event planners for your life’s biggest day.

Preparing for the wedding
Annabeth woke up before her alarm. She was laying her head on Percy’s chest, who was still asleep. His arm was on her waist holding her close even when they were sleeping. She was so in love with him. It was a big problem. One day he was getting on her nerves and the other they were getting married. The events of the past few days were playing in her mind again and again. From Thalia bailing the wedding 4 days ago as she was stranded in Alaska to her younger brothers flying earlier to surprise her and Rachel never leaving her side as she helped her handle every crisis that came up.
The Thalia part had hurt her a lot. She was her first friend, and she wasn’t going to show up on her wedding day. Percy had suggested to wait a few days if that would made her feel better, but she didn’t want to wait any longer to get married to him. Even with the cost of Thalia. She was tired of waiting for her to show up. This time it wasn’t her fault, but she couldn’t wait around. They had gone for the separate ways, and it was probably for the best.
Bobby and Matthew showing up was a pleasant surprise that made her feel better about the whole Thalia situation. Since she had gone to college in California and spent time with her brothers she realised how much they had in common. They opened up to her and after Annabeth moved back to New York they never lost touch again. She had even managed to make amends with her stepmother. The past few years definitely looked great to her. No more Gods or monsters, just her, healing all of her past wounds and making her 7 year old proud of how far she had come.
She was deep in thought when she felt Percy waking up. He brushed his arm on her lower back and planted a kiss on her forehead. “Good morning, love of my life. How long have you been awake for?”
“5 minutes? Maybe less.”
“We’re getting married tomorrow. Do you realise that?” Percy said with excitement in his raspy morning voice.
“I haven’t fully grasped it yet, but I’m getting there. We have a lot of things to do today. With everyone arriving at the venue and everything. Rachel is coming over at 8 to pick up some things.”
“Don’t worry about Rachel. She has her own keys. We have to get her a really good gift. After everything.”
“I’ll think about something.”
“Maybe our first born.” Percy joked. “But it’s Rachel. She wants nothing, but our happiness. How are you feeling?”
“Nervous. Excited. Incredibly happy.” Annabeth replied.
“About Thalia?” He asked a bit more tentatively.
“It’s fine, I guess. We knew that at some point she was going to disappear. It’s the cost that comes with being a hunter. I feel a little guilty that I have gotten over it so fast. If that happened a few years ago I would be a mess for weeks.”
“We have grown a lot. Emotionally I mean. Being 17 and 23 is completely different.”
“You’re a lot wiser nowadays.”
“What can I say? Fiancé Percy is a lot smarter than Boyfriend Percy.”
“What about Husband Percy. What is he like?” Annabeth smirked as she sat up, closing the back between them.
“I guess you have to sit around long enough to see yourself.” He kissed her neck which made Annabeth heat up. “How are you feeling?”
“Over the moon that from tomorrow I can call you my wife. It has a nice ring to it. I might not be able to keep it together.”
Annabeth couldn’t help, but smile. “Are you going to get emotional?”
“I will definitely cry.” He replied all serious that made Annabeth laugh. “Watching the love of my life walking down the aisle makes me all sentimental. I thought you loved my soft side.” He pouted.
“I am not complaining.” She smiled as she ran her fingers through his hair. “I just love you so much, it’s overwhelming.”
“I love you too, Wise Girl.” He kissed her softly on the lips before their fingers intertwined. “Come on, I’ll make us breakfast.”
30 minutes later they were eating pancakes and drinking coffee on the kitchen island. The door unlocked as Rachel came inside. “Good morning, my lovely friends.” She said as she let two boxes and a few shopping bags near the door. “Eating breakfast without me? I thought you wouldn’t wake up.”
Percy presented her, her own plate with blueberry pancakes and chocolate syrup. “You thought I would let you starve?”
“Thank you. So, wedding preparations.” Rachel said as she put a mouthful of pancakes in her mouth. “The wedding planner is already on the venue preparing everything for the rehearsal dinner. What time are we having the rehearsal?”
“Around 1.” Annabeth replied. “The wedding party will be there by then. And then we’re all having lunch by the sea.”
“We should head out soon.” Percy said as he gathered the plates and put them in the sink. “We have to load the cars and everything.”
“Don’t you have practise?” Rachel asked him.
“I was going to help you load the car and until you get ready I would do a few laps in the pool.” He explained. With the Olympic qualifications around the corner, Percy couldn’t lose his form. His coach had said it repeatedly the past few weeks. But he was wiling to take a break so that he could focus on his fiancée and their wedding.
“I can’t believe that next year you’re going again on the Olympics next year.” Rachel smiled.
“I haven’t qualified yet. I might go.”
“That’s what you were saying about Beijing as well.” Annabeth noted. “You’re going to qualify and then win a couple medals for me.” She kissed him on the cheek, “I’m going to take a quick shower. All the boxes we need to load are the ones in the living room.”
Percy had to load his car and Rachel’s car three times. Meanwhile, his phone was filled with texts from his friends that were flying in for the wedding. From college, swim meets and from Camp. He was grateful that he was going to share his and Annabeth’s day with all of their friends. As he was done with his morning gym and laps his phone started ringing. “Hey mum, how are you?”
“I’m good. I just called you to let you know that we’re all set to go. Do you need us to take anything else? Did everything fit in the car?”
“We’re ready as well. I’ll just take a shower and we’ll leave.”
“Alright, hon. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me.”
“You’ll be on top of my list.” Percy said before saying goodbye to her and closing the phone.
“Are we ready for operation wedding?” He asked as Annabeth got in the passenger sit and prepared the aux.
“I’ve been ready for the last 6 years.” She said and kissed him.

All Stars 3 (2018)
So the first 4 episodes, plus the returnee episode, were fun. But episodes 5 and 7 had lame challenges and the story felt boring. And then the finale is a complete and utter trainwreck. Seriously, the finale has a 4.3/10 on IMDB, which is the second-lowest rated finale after AS4 (that'll be fun to review soon). Why? Because the producers decided to have the 6 eliminated queens vote on who the final two would be. The two finalists would then face off in a lip sync for the crown. It was an awful twist, made even worse by the jury basing their votes on who needed it the most; thereby rewarding the underrated queens and punishing the front runner. I'm sorry, but I don't agree with that reasoning at all. This isn't Survivor or Big Brother. This is a show meant to reward performances. Yeah, I was in favour of the all stars format during AS2, it's a very juicy twist, and I do think the eliminations are more interesting in AS3, but it shouldn't be extended into the finale. Kennedy had more jury points than Trixie too! And the cast wasn't told they needed to manage a jury either. Those group interviews with the jury looked so intimating lol. I can accept the Lip Sync For The Crown format of Seasons 9 and beyond, but the jury twist doesn't sit right with me. Also, the Handmaid's Tale references went way over my head. At the end of each episode, Chad Michaels and Alaska creepily stood behind every eliminated queen in red cloaks. Just why??? The cast is the main thing that saves this season from bottom tier. While the cast isn't as iconic as AS2, many of my favourites are back including Shangela, Ben, Chi Chi and BeBe. Meanwhile, some others grew on me considerably - namely Morgan, Aja and Kennedy. The challenges were a mixed bag though, and this feels like one of the more "rigged" seasons. The Ball had one of the worst concepts (the soup cans), and the "My Best Squirrelfriend's Dragmaids Wedding Trip" skit felt like an afterthought. The Bitchelor was kinda cringe too. And I was disappointed that the Rusical used RuPaul songs instead of incorporating songs from the respective artists. But I guess they didn't want to pay for the licensing. On the flip side, most of the queens did well in the Talent Show. And "Kitty Girl" is one of the best Ru-mixes. I liked that they filmed the whole thing in one take. Otherwise, there was a couple of great runway themes - the Ru-demption and the wigs on wigs on wigs. Much like AS2, the returnee revenge episode was a high point of the season. It included a long segment where the eliminated queens each had their moment to confront those who eliminated them - Shangela vs Thorgy, Morgan vs Ben, Milk vs Kennedy, Aja vs Bebe - and it's probably the best drama of the season. The other memorable drama moment came from a note Thorgy left behind. Otherwise, Ben's self-elimination is one of the most shocking moments in the show's herstory.   Just like AS2, the runtime flips back and forth between 42 minutes and 60 minutes (without ads). It's the first All-Stars season to air on VH1 as well. And the finale is the last 42- episode until... the one that just aired two days I believe.
Queens Ranking: 10. Milk Milk received a non-stop "delusional edit" in AS3. She was smug, arrogant, egotistical, and always smirking. Did her post-Season 6 fame get to her head? Or was she was playing it up for the cameras? Milk thought she was amazing in every challenge, and had a breakdown when she was "safe" because she wanted the judges to praise her. Then in her boot episode, she disagreed with Shangela thinking Milk would be in the bottom. She said "Ben you're still alive?" and "grandma sit down" (about BeBe) in this disrespectful tone. She thought her song would be a bigger hit than "Supermodel". She claimed Celine Dion's event planner loved her Celine impression. She pissed off Kennedy by preferring Thorgy's drag - and Kennedy felt like this wasn't the Milk she knew outside the show. She had that Myspace stalking story. She called her elimination "bogus" in her mirror message. And she later blamed others for not telling her she was a "douchebag". She wasn't fond of Shangela's antics in the Rusical rehearsal either, and acted childishly in response (ie. opening a fan in her face and saying "shush Valentina"). In the competition: I disliked all 3 of Milk's performances. The Velcro bit in the talent show was dumb. Singing into a shoe and wearing a peanut butter jar necklace didn't emulate Celine Dion. And her stalker character in the Bitchelor was too real; and she bulldozed Trixie in that challenge. I didn't like her wig runway either. 9. Thorgy Thor Thorgy was so bitter and spiteful this season. I can understand feeling cynical after the riggory, but it got annoying. She spent all of episode 2 openly talking about production sabotaging her. She asked Todrick to put her in the background of other people's solos. And she said Stevie Nicks isn't a gay icon to the judges. I've also heard that Thorgy wasn't given the props she asked for, despite other queens clearly using props. But aside from that, Thorgy kept bringing up Bob (Chi Chi was right - Bob isn't here). She kept rolling her eyes in confessional - at everyone doing the same talent show performance, at Ben getting emotional about eliminations, at Shangela's response. She said BeBe needs to "shut up" with her introductions. She accused Shangela of having a secret deal with Kennedy. She trashed Ben after she self-eliminated. She was put off by BeBe's jury speech. It's like Thorgy just hated everybody and everything. I was not expecting a dick drawing in her mirror message either. In the competition: Thorgy impressed with her violin playing in the Talent Show. But she was infamously given a bad role for the Rusical (as Stevie Nicks), which only had one joke (the dizzy one), and she didn't even sell it. 8. Trixie Mattel Even Trixie looked shocked when Morgan announced the top 2. She only won because of Ben's self-elimination and the jury disliking Shangela. She tried so hard to make funny confessionals, but they were too forced, self-aware, and dry. It felt like she was telling dad jokes all season. Also, her excuses for posting Thorgy's note on the wall made no sense - why post it if you don't want Shangela to see it? She thought Thorgy should be blamed instead, and she seemed annoyed about the whole conversation. Her relationship with Shangela improved afterwards though, with them saving each other. Anyways, Trixie came in believing that she did lousy on Season 7, and she continued to struggle for the first half of AS3. I don't get why everyone was expecting her to be top 2 for the Bitchelor, but whatever. She reached a mental low point after bombing the Snatch Game, and then went on to win two challenges afterwards. Which were the two worst challenges of the season. Otherwise, Trixie didn't hold back from criticizing BeBe and Kennedy to the jury. She had this segment about being standoffish and Morgan calling her "grand". And she gave attitude during recording. In the competition: Trixie's talent show country song was boring. Her RuPaul in Snatch Game was so stiff and cringe... with all those awkward catchphrases interjections. And I didn't find Trixie's math character or the "fake bitch" in the Bitcherlor funny. She had the most memorable soup can though. Plus the book outfit and the rollerblade entrance were cute. And I'll admit she had the second best "Kitty Girl" verse. But she was only top 2 in bad challenges. 7. Chi Chi DeVayne (R.I.P.) I still love Chi Chi, but her AS3 run was disappointing. She promised her drag was together this time, but was still read for her looks. Chi Chi also felt like she wasn't on the same level as the other queens and that she came back at the wrong time. It was sad to see her in her head like that. She accepted defeat by the episode 3 deliberation and basically told Ben to send her home; but Kennedy had other priorities. I'm glad she wasn't dragged as far as Roxxxy Andrews though. When the eliminated queens returned, Chi Chi was the only one to not be bitter about it. She also told the top 2 to not bring her back. But at least we got to see Chi Chi be brutally honest again - like calling out Milk's Talent Show performance - and see her smiling in confessional again. Lol at her spelling "Mya Angelou" wrong. In the competition: Chi Chi was read for her shoes and wig in the Talent Show, but apparently she dropped her baton as well. She was in the bottom for the Rusical for her runway as well. And then it felt like she was mentally checked out during the Bitchelor and the Snatch Game. The wig runway was good though. 6. BeBe Zahara Benet I'm fine with BeBe getting a second chance, since winning Season 1 isn't as prestigious. But despite the intimidating entrance quote ("Mother, another day, another slay. Who's first?"), BeBe fell under-the-radar for the first 4 episodes. And then she got the "lack of self-awareness" edit for the other 4 episodes. She eliminated Aja after Aja helped make her outfit; even getting emotional when revealing the lipstick. And when confronted about it next episode, she made an excuse about not talking much on the runway. BeBe also wouldn't let Aja plead her case during deliberation because she went on a rant praising Aja. Otherwise, BeBe thought the eliminated queens would be their dancers (lol). She was scared of heights during choreo. She refused to reveal her second lipstick choice, even refusing to the tell jury later on. She didn't understand why she was given the queen role, and thought her negative critiques were soft. And she didn't know who Ornacia was. Ben called BeBe "poised and regal", while Shangela called her "boogie". BeBe does have this fabulous aura. She was also shy around sex talk (lol at that description of Thorgy's penis drawing). But yeah, BeBe knew the jury wasn't going to give her a second win. In the competition: BeBe showed her Cameroonian culture via reveals in the Talent Show. Her whacky Grace Jones in Snatch Game and "Rrrrra-ka-ta-ti-ti-ta-ta" in the girl groups were highlights too. And lol at her wanting to do "achoo" soup. But on the flip side, BeBe's bashful virgin in the Bitchelor was whatever. Her queen character in the wedding skit fell flat. And she struggled with the lifts in "Kitty Girl". I liked most of her runways though, aside from her final 4 outfit. 5. Morgan McMichaels Morgan knew that she wasn't a fan favourite, so she didn't care about fan perception at all. I can get behind a villain like that. I enjoyed Morgan more in AS3 than Season 2, actually. She had this ruthless way of talking. She straight-up told the Werk Room she was going to eliminate the strongest competitors, which is ballsy. She didn't want to be fake about it, but it wasn't the wisest thing to say. In the revenge episode, Morgan confronted Ben about not sticking to her policy, even calling Ben a "coward" and a "hypocrite". I mean, Morgan wasn't wrong. Ben was punishing her for not "playing by the rules". Morgan later made up with Ben, admitting she was too confrontational, and then Ben selected her to return. Despite Morgan disliking Ben's quit in confessional. It ended up being a pointless return though. Trixie and Shangela displayed sympathy with the returnee curse thing, but not enough to save her. "I look pretty good for a dead bitch" was a good entrance line though. In the competition: I didn't think Morgan was bottom 2-worthy in the talent show. The quacking swan on the other hand... yeah. Morgan even gave herself that role! Her kilt runway (with the crotch flashing) was fun though. 4. Aja Aja grew on me this season as well. She was under pressure in Season 9, but was much more easygoing in AS3. It reminded me of Detox's growth in AS2. She was having fun in confessionals. She seemed chill when she returned as an eliminated queen - well other than calling out BeBe for not giving Aja credit on stage for the outfit. The show tried to make it look like Aja was becoming overconfident with her Ball look (insert Kennedy confessional saying just that and Trixie calling her soup idea "crazy"), but I didn't understand that bottom 2 placement at all. Even Trixie called it the most beautiful outfit. Aja was doing so well before that challenge too. Her elimination reeks of riggory. She should've returned instead of Morgan. Otherwise, Aja lead the jury interrogation by asking bigger picture questions. In the competition: Aja had Ru gagging with that death drop stunt in talent show. Her Amy Winehouse in the Rusical and her Crystal Labeija in Snatch Game were highlights as well. She held her own in the "Anaconda" lip sync too. And I liked her anime wig runway and the princess redo. But Aja was annoyingly whiny in the Bitchelor. And she was read for her soup can not representing her brand... ehh whatever, her outfit was one of the best that week. Also, Aja's girl group verse was fire and should've been what brought her back to the game. 3. BenDeLaCreme The most dominant track record in Drag Race herstory. Ben had a hard time eliminating queens, and she had to do it nearly every week! There was so many confessionals from the other queens not having patience for Ben's turmoil though. They felt like Ben was concerned about maintaining a congenial image. And Kennedy pointed out that Ben plays to win and then complains about the responsibility. Ben even came up with a formula at one point so she couldn't be blamed for eliminations. She wanted to win with "kindness and integrity". She said she stole Trixie's win. She suggested repeating the AS2 group consensus, which others weren't into. She was relieved to finally lose a challenge. While in episode 6, after Morgan called her out for not following her own policy, Ben wasn't here for the drama. I guess she brought Morgan back out of guilt. Then, Ben had reasons to keep all 3 queens in the bottom, so she fell on her sword and eliminated herself instead. Which is the most congenial thing she could've done. Ben was taking the eliminations too seriously, but her storyline was interesting to watch. In the competition: I agree with all 5 of Ben's top 2 placements. The tassel bit in the Talent Show was funny (as was her "Anaconda" lip sync afterwards). Her Julie Andrews in the Rusical stood out with the microphone bit. And then she imitated Shangela in the "Jump" lip sync lol. She had the banana bit in the Bitchelor. Her Paul Lynde in Snatch Game was as good as Maggie Smith. And she sold the goth verse in the girl groups. It felt like she was throwing the challenge in episode 5 though (the soup cans). My fave runways of hers were the flower and the jewels redo. 2. Kennedy Davenport Kennedy grew on me the most from this cast. AS3 made me appreciate her lack of filter. She's just so unpleased by everything and always gives her opinion, but she's less mean-spirited this time. For example: interjecting to say "no we should look at the whole picture", disliking Thorgy's dick drawing, getting offended by Milk calling Thorgy's drag more exciting than hers, refusing to do one-on-ones, taking Shangela's side in note-gate, calling the return twist a "crock of s**t", giving Milk like 4 different reasons why she eliminated her, making Milk cry by calling her ingenuine and self-centered, and saying it's "BS" for the jury to feel animosity. Also lol at her pronouncing meme as "mimi". I guess Kennedy wanted Ru-demption for her Season 7 perception. She wasn't a popular queen, and that seems to be why the jury voted her into the top 2. She needed the recognition the most. And Thorgy felt that her answers came off sincere. But Kennedy had the worst track record of the final 4 . In the competition: Kennedy landed on the box in the Talent Show, and she was the funniest in the Bitchelor. But she was either middling or struggling in the other challenges. She missed the words in the Rusical. While her lyrics in both the girls group and "Kitty Girl" were kinda basic. But I liked Kennedy's finale lip sync more than Trixie's. I didn't care that she gave another rainbow dress at the finale, it looked great. That entrance look with all the shimmering coins was... something though. 1. Shangela AS3 solidified Shangela as one of my all-time faves. She improves each season. She's an amazing confessionalist. She's charming in how she aims to impress. And she hustled for this win that was stolen from her. Maybe her jury answer wasn't what they wanted - she mainly talked about how much work she put in. She eliminated half the jury too. And I guess her diva attitude in the Rusical rehearsal was indicative. But she killed it in the challenges. And I actually thought she handled situations tactfully? Like the Thorgy note debacle. She also encouraged Ben to smooth things over with Morgan. Lol at her saying she won't overtalk Thorgy and Thorgy not getting a chance to respond though. Anyways, the All-Stars format was perfect for Shangela's strategic mindset, since she was already doing that in Season 3. She kept whoever she could trust to save her in a later episode. That's why she eliminated Thorgy and built an alliance with Trixie. She thought Ben and BeBe were being strategic in their own ways too. And she gave so many Games of Thrones references. In the competition: Shangela's Talent Show performance was fierce and gave variety. She killed it as Mariah Carey in the Rusical. She was confident as Jenifer Lewis in Snatch Game. She was the only one in the wedding skit that made me laugh ("she did that"). She had the best "Kitty Girl" verse. And she had fun lip sync gimmicks - the jump rope, the notebook, the fat suit and sunglasses. Her cornstalk/popcorn runway was one of my faves too. But no surprise Shangela flopped the design challenge - those discs were horrible. The pregnant flower and the red spike runways were OTT as well. And her girl group verse was a little basic. Favourite entrance look: BeBe Zahara Benet Challenge ranking: 1. "Kitty Girl" Ru-mix (Shangela >>>> Trixie > BeBe > Kennedy) 2. Talent Show 3. Girl Group battle 4. Snatch Game 5. VH1 Divas Rusical 6. The Bitchelor (Improv) 7. Andy Warhol Ball 8. "My Best Squirrelfriend's Dragmaids Wedding Trip" (Acting) Lip Sync ranking: 1. Aja vs BenDeLaCreme ("Anaconda") 2. BenDeLaCreme vs Shangela ("Jump (For My Love)") 3. Shangela vs Trixie Mattel ("Freaky Money") 4. BenDeLaCreme vs Shangela ("I Kissed A Girl") 5. Kennedy Davenport vs Trixie Mattel ("Wrecking Ball") (Kennedy should've won this lip sync) 6. BeBe Zahara Benet vs Trixie Mattel ("The Boss") 7. BeBe Zahara Benet vs BenDeLaCreme ("Nobody's Supposed To Be Here") 8. BenDeLaCreme vs Kennedy Davenport ("Green Light") (borrrrring; the song doesn't really work as a lip sync) The top 4 lip syncs are all very memorable and funny. Season ranking so far: 9 > 5 > 6 > AS2 > 4 > 2 > 7 > AS3 > 3 > 8 > 1 > AS1

Total Eclipse Of The Heart (Pt. 8)
Summary: Y/N and Jacob attend the wedding of the century.
Prologue | Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
Tumblr media
Y/N grabs her vibrating phone off the nightstand. “Alice?”
“Are you alright?” The brunette say immediately. “I can’t see you.”
“I’m with Jacob. You can never see me.”
“Is this chick on something?” Jacob quips.
“I normally catch a glimpse at least. Nothing since yesterday.”
She did hunt yesterday, alone. Alice shouldve seen her then. “Should I come home then? Back to Forks?”
Jacob groans. It was supposed to be a month long vacation and location scouting for their big move to Alaska. A graduation gift from their new ‘family.’
“Well no, if you’re ok, stay in Denali. Sounds like Jacob isn’t ready to leave yet.” Alice shoots back.
“This is my last chance to be alone with her before the whole family comes to set up shop. Let me have this!” Jacob says into the phone.
“Have fun.” Alice sighs, “keep me posted and I’ll see you at the wedding.”
“See you at the wedding.”
“And not a second before,” Jacob adds, “bye Alice.”
Y/N ends the call. “Admit it, you miss them.”
“The Cullens?” Jacob huffs a laugh, “like hell I do.”
“Mhm,” she smirks, “you like Alice.”
“She’s alright.” Jacob remarks, “she worries about you.”
———————————————————————
“Jacob? Y/N! I didn’t think you guys were going to make it.” Bella rushes to hug the Y/H/C, almost unrecognizable in her wedding gown and heels.
“I thought we RSVP’d?” Y/N frowns at Alice, over her sister’s shoulder.
“Careful, she’s not zipped.” Jacob warns. Bella is one pull away from a show.
“Oh, sorry.” Bella apologies, moving away.
Jacob closes the back of Y/N’s dress with practiced fingers. She looks beautiful.
“Well you did say you were coming, but…no one’s heard from you in weeks.”
“We were scouting out a piece of land up in Denali. Alaska is really beautiful.” Y/N explains.
“Sent in the blueprint to get the ball rolling up there.”
“What?” This is news to Bella.
“Carlisle approved, of course, and funded. I can show you the lay out. We’ll all have plenty of room.” Y/N offers.
“I’m gonna set up a machine shop for me.” Jacob can’t shut up about it. “Y/N enrolled in some online accounting classes so she can manage the books.”
“You guys have it all figured it out huh?” Bella gives a watery grin.
“We do,” Y/N rests her left hand against the lapel of Jacob’s jacket.
“You look really happy.” Bella thinks back to the pictures at Jacob’s garage. Happy, carefree, glowing in love. They look like them again.
“We are,” Y/N says, looking to her boyfriend.
“Over the moon.” The wolf agrees.
“What’s going on in here?” Charlie guffaws, pushing the door open to peek inside.
“Dad!” Y/N rejoices, moving, at human speed, to wrap her arms around him.
“Welcome home, baby,” he returns the embrace. Resting his chin atop her head. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“Me too.”
Jacob waves, from the corner.
“You owe me a father daughter dance tonight.”
“Wouldn’t miss it.”
———————————————————————
Bella and Edward’s wedding is kinda beautiful. For an observer, one who doesn’t think they’re having a shotgun wedding.
Vows are exchanged, speeches are given, Y/N shoves a piece of cake in Jacob’s face. Things seem…normal.
“What?” Y/N demands, when she catches Jake staring at her.
He beams at her, “just admiring my girlfriend. That’s still allowed, isn’t it?”
“I guess so.”
Y/N’s mother approaches the table, already an emotional wreck from the night’s events.
“Honey!” Renee swipes at her fresh tears, the fact that she’s a little tipsy doesn’t help the theatrics. “You look so beautiful.”
“Thank you, mama.” Y/N chuckles, as she pulls her in for hug.
“Ugh, you’re freezing, baby.”
Jacob plays into this by draping his abandoned tux jacket around Y/N’s shoulders when they pull away.
———————————————————————-
“You gotta admit, it’s kinda cool that being a vampire gave you spacial awareness and rhythm.” Jacob smiles at Y/N as they sway together.
Y/N gasps at him. “Are you implying that I couldn’t dance before?”
“No, I’m telling you, you could not dance before. Like not even to save your life.”
Y/N swats his shoulder.
“Ahh,” he hisses, “gentle.”
“Sorry.” Y/N half smiles.
Her father’s hand comes to tap Jake’s shoulder. “Mind if I cut in?” Charlie asks.
“All yours,” Jacob nods, kissing his girlfriend’s cheek. “I’ll go see if Renee wants to dance.”
Y/N takes her father’s hand. “How are you holding up, old man?”
“You know me.” Charlie grumbles.
“Yeah, that’s why I asked.” Y/N cocks her head to the side.
“I’m gonna miss having Bella around the house.” Charlie admits.
“Me too.”
“I’ll be a wreck the day you leave.”
Y/N sighs, “you’ll be alright.” He has to be. What she doesn’t tell him, is that day is coming sooner than he thinks.

Jill Valentine: What the Future Holds
For @openheartfanfics Meet My MC Event ☺💕
Tumblr media
Career
After her residency ends, Jill takes over the Diagnostics Team, after the three other team members vote for her.
When Ethan steps down, Jill immediately jumps into action and starts interviewing possible candidates to fill the fourth spot of the team.
Finally, she decides to appoint Jackie. She’s proved herself time and time again, and she’s an exceptional doctor, so it made sense. And Jackie fits right in with their dynamics.
The team, and the hospital with it, thrives under Jill’s lead. They help a lot of people and earn a lot of worldwide renown.
The team was already known because of Naveen and Ethan, but there were doubts flying around when Ethan stepped down to become Chief of Medicine. Those doubts were quickly put to rest.
Jill is stubborn and determinate, and she works her hardest to make her team succeed. And the team succeeds more than ever because of her idea to work along with other departments at the hospital, creating a huge teamwork effort.
Harper is often busy, so Bryce and Ivy are her surgeons on call, and both of them give Harper a second and third opinion, so they consider every possibility out there. Rafael is the one she consults when physical therapy is on the table. Elijah, Baz and Zaid also help from time to time when they contemplate experimental treatments or when they need to research a new alternative, and Baz’s input is invaluable when it comes to immunology. Sienna is her pediatrician of choice. Even Esme and Gary come in handy from time to time. And even in retirement, Naveen is more than happy to help and give his input when the team hits a particularly hard slope. That applies for Ethan too; though, as much as he loves diagnostics, he tries to get involved the minimum, instead he lets Jill do her thing, and she’s damn good at it.
Jill’s management of the team also meant a new project she had been working on with Aurora. As soon as Aurora takes over Mass Kenmore’s Diagnostics Team, the two of them collaborate on projects and cases. And even if Kenmore’s renown isn’t as big as Edenbrook’s team, each group has something to contribute. They even collaborate on publishing articles and case studies. They work as well on their own as they do together. They help twice the amount of patients working alongside instead of competing with each other.
With Ethan as Chief of Medicine, she works perfectly with administration. They constantly help each other. He has the power to approve her projects and budget requests, but he only does it after hearing her pitch, just like other doctor, and he recognizes the true potential she shows.
She implements a program that gives third-year residents the opportunity to work with the diagnostics team. They are assessed and evaluated since their intern year, and when their third year comes by, Jill picks the two best residents. They’re not a part of the team per se, but they do a two-month internship with the team, work with them and learn from the experience.
Jill also dedicates part of her time to researching and working on zoonotic diseases. With her family of veterinarians, she’s more than qualified to do this, and after the maitotoxin incident, she knows there’s a lot of work to be done in that area.
Jill quickly becomes one of the most respected doctors and earned world-renown. She even becomes a published author.
Her books: “From Animals to Humans: Understanding Zoonotic Diseases”; “Diagnostics: A Comprehensive Science”; “The Challenges of Diagnosing”; “Solving Medical Mysteries: A Team Effort” (co-written with Aurora Emery) & “A Guide to Zoonoses” (co-written with Lucas Valentine).
A few years later, when Tobias decides to move to New York to marry Katherine, and inevitably has to leave the team, Jill is once again left with the task of looking at prospects for team member.
When that happens, Ethan is more than ready to step down as Chief of Medicine, after his fair share of working with administration, and he presents his curriculum to Jill, as if he was any other doctor.
Of course, Jill doesn’t have to think twice. She knows the kind of diagnostician he is, and she’s missed working with his brilliant mind.
Jill doesn’t just accept him into the team. She announces they’re both gonna be Co-Heads of the Diagnostics Team. After all, they’re better together than apart. Ethan tries to fight it at first but, well, he has never been particularly adept at denying Jill, and that was a matter she wasn’t willing to change her mind.
Though, as years working well with administration, both Ethan and Jill have earned other administratives favors, and working with them goes without a hitch as well. There are no more problems with the board like there were when Jill was a resident, and Ethan has learned to work with them, so the fights are almost non-existent.
Still, Tobias quickly earns his place as diagnostician in New York Presbyterian Hospital, and he continues to work along with Jill and Ethan.
Tumblr media
Relationship with Ethan
Since confessing his love for Jill, Ethan was completely sure that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
The idea of proposing hadn’t made it to his mind yet, but he knew he was ready for them to move in together.
Even if the question had been at the tip of his tongue every time they were together, Ethan held back. Jill was already trying to adjust to the transition from resident to attending, and to Head of the Diagnostics Team. He didn’t want to add to it by having her move to his place.
But he had his mind made up, and he would ask her to move in with him as soon as things settled back. He wasn’t going to be deterred.
Except he hadn’t contemplated something, and that something made him stop in his tracks and reconsider asking her.
Because Jill, as Head of the Diagnostics Team, had a new salary. And with that new salary, the first thing Jill had done was get a puppy.
And no, not a little Yorkie or a Chihuahua. No. It was a damn Bernese Mountain Dog, that was going to grow into a seriously large dog.
Ethan already had Jenner, and even Jenner spent more than half of the time at his dad’s place in Providence. He didn’t think his penthouse could take a hyperactive Bernese Mountain puppy.
But he also knew his girlfriend. Coming from a family of veterinarians, Jill wasn’t going to leave the damn dog behind. From the moment she got him (“Satchmo”), Ethan knew they were a package deal. If he wanted to live with Jill, he also had to live with the dog.
He didn’t know how that could work with Jenner and in his penthouse, but he was willing to risk it. He knew he wanted to wake up every day by her side and go to sleep with her.
So, in September, just a couple of months after settling in their new positions, Ethan and Jill moved in together. Unsurprisingly, Jill knew how to handle the transition for both dogs, and made the move easy for all of them.
And just a few months after moving together, in December, Ethan popped the question. Jill cried through his whole proposal speech and couldn’t say yes, but she nodded fiercely and kissed him.
They had a relatively long engagement, until finally, they got married the following year, on October 16th, 2022.
The reception was huge, hundreds of people invited (because of the Valentine’s connections), though neither of them seemed to mind too much. They were just happy to be marrying each other. According to the media and tabloids, it was the wedding of the century.
Naveen was Ethan’s best man, and Luke (Jill’s older brother) and Tobias were his groomsmen, while Sienna was Jill’s maid of honor, and Kat and Ivy (her two sisters) were her bridesmaids.
About six months into their marriage, they decided to move to an actual house, and started looking.
Funnily enough, Jill’s childhood best friend, Hunter, told them he was currently working on a few construction and design projects in the area of Boston. He was the one who hooked them with a house and was their architect, helping them design their dream house.
A few months later, they were moving into a bigger house in suburban Boston, along with Jenner, Satchmo and Vienna (the roomies figured Jill had more space than them and could take care of the fennec fox better than them).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Starting their own family
It was about a year after their wedding that they sat down and talked about having children. Ethan had already worked through his trauma, and his past with Louise no longer held him back. Jill stopped her birth-control, and they started trying to get pregnant.
It took Jill a couple of months, and deep down she was terrified to let Ethan down and not be able to give him children, now that he had decided he wanted them. Ethan obviously eased her worries and told her the only thing he needed in life was her; children would be nice, but he really only needed her.
Still, Jill anxiously took a fertility test, and once it came out that she could have children, she tried to brush it off as stress, but still worried inside.
A few months later, Ethan surprised Jill by taking her on vacation, to ease her worrying and stress. He took her to a wolf sanctuary in Alaska she had mentioned she wanted to visit a few times.
Jill and Ethan found out Jill was pregnant by accident, and it definitely took them by surprise, but the news were very welcomed. At the wolf sanctuary, the wolves changed their whole demeanor and body language around Jill, and the keeper congratulated Jill on her pregnancy. Turns out, wolves are excellent at telling when a woman is pregnant even if she doesn’t know it yet; the animals get all odd and careful around the pregnant woman and take defensive postures around her. It was definitely a reveal worth telling.
Her first pregnancy, thankfully went without a hitch, and soon, their first-born came into the world, through natural birth.
Their son, Nicholas Jonah Ramsey, was born on August 24th, 2024.
Everyone was enamored with the little baby, with his dark hair and intense blue eyes, the spitting image of his father.
Ethan and Jill decided to appoint Rafael and Jackie as Nick’s godparents.
Six years later, their second child came along, also through natural birth.
Their daughter, Brooklyn Marie Ramsey, was born on November 8th, 2030.
She has her mother’s distinctive ginger-bronze hair color, but her father’s blue eyes.
Brooke’s godparents are Hunter and Sienna.
After little Brooklyn was born, though, Jill was informed that a third pregnancy could be fatal for her, that her body wouldn’t be able to sustain another pregnancy. And, after much deliberation and talking it out as spouses, Jill went under a hysterectomy procedure, which meant no more children for them, but they were beyond happy with their two little blessings.
Tumblr media
Family and Friends
The gang remained tight-knit close, to the point where their children called the others aunts and uncles.
Even when they no longer lived together, they promised to hang out constantly and see each other. It also helped that they kept working together.
Eventually, Elijah and Phoebe eloped, and Sienna moved in with Raf. Bryce and Ivy already lived together. Aurora and Jackie were the last remaining ones, and they got a smaller apartment for the two of them for a while.
Then Aurora moved in with Hunter (once he fully moved to Boston) and Jackie got a place for herself and her new boyfriend, which she keeps a secret from the roomies until she’s completely sure the relationship is the real deal, because it’s the least expected pairing in the world. (Spoiler alert: it’s Baz 😂)
Even paired off and building their own lives, the gang kept up some of their traditions and kept in touch.
They even celebrate a few milestones and holidays together.
It tends to get a bit chaotic, given that it’s double the people, counting the spouses, but they all get along great and enjoy spending time together.
Tobias moved to New York once he married Katherine, but both of them still visit from time to time.
After traveling the world, Kyra moved to New York as well, where she met and married Jill’s older brother, Luke. Just like Tobias and Kat, they visit constantly.
Jill remains close with her family. She’s always been close with her siblings, and even more when they married some of their friends. And she grew closer to her parents once her own kids were born. Haley and Matthew Valentine definitely spoil their grandchildren rotten.
Jill and Ethan, along with Ivy and Bryce, make the trip to New York once every other month, to visit Jill’s parents, Kat and Tobias, and Luke and Kyra.
And once every other month, alternating with them, Kat and Tobias, and Luke and Kyra make the trip to Boston.
Jill and Ethan also drive down to Providence to visit Alan every few weeks.
All in all, they’re a big, happy, messy and extended family.

2001 - Rod Stewart
Rod Stewart asked for a change in wedding vows bringing them up to-date and to be treated like a dog licence. Stewart said 'a change is needed because they've been in existence for 600 years when people used to live until they were only 35'.

RexCoatl timeline: Post Chaldea
Here's a timeline to give a clearer image of the events that take place after the world is saved.
Strong Start
After everything is handled, through the use of the grail Quetzalcoatl is given a new mortal human body, with limited authority still intact.
Quetzalcoatl is given a human name as to not stand out: Victoría Hernandez (Maiden name: Reyes) along with any other documents needed.
Rex and Quetz go to Rex's home in Kansas to finally introduce Quetz to Rex's family.
Rex and Quetz renew their vows and have a 2nd wedding for the sake of Rex's family.
The two move to Mexico City to properly start their new lives together.
Happily together
Using the generous amount of money gotten from saving the world, Rex starts going to university to become a paleontologist. Meanwhile Quetz gets started on her career as a luchadora.
Quetz becomes one of the greatest luchadoras with an undefeated winning steak known as: El Dragón Quetzal.
Rex occasionally joins her in the ring with his own stage name: El Rey de Monstrous.
Rex manages to become a well renowned paleontologist who's made many revolutionary discoveries.
Thanks to the newfound fame and fortune, the two become very financially successful and put most of the money to use for improving the world, but also to ensure financial security for when they retire.
New Life
After spending a very "magical" Christmas together, Quetz becomes pregnant with the twins.
The two have one last lucha match together before Quetz's pregnancy advances too far for her to fight anymore.
The two prepare to retire from their respective careers and buy land in the Yucatan to build a new home.
After retirement and the completion of their new home, the couple prepares for the arrival of the children.
After the twins are born, the two start the difficult but rewarding journey of raising the children.
The children are named Eduardo (after Rex's own father) and Maria (after the woman whose body Quetz used to manifest)
Happy Family
Despite how protective the couple can be, the children are still able to go to a normal school. But it took some convincing from other family members.
Their son, Eduardo, shows a strong interest in sports, especially soccer, after watching a few games.
Their daughter, Maria, shows an interest in magecraft after seeing Rex study magecraft in his downtime.
Eventually a tradition of going to Alaska for the holiday season during winter is started.
Once the kids are about 13, not only do they deal with normal puberty, but their own divine authority starts to manifest.
[ERROR. ENTRY NOT FOUND.]
For a short while, the family goes to London, so that Maria can study magecraft in a proper class.
While they're there, Eduardo also learns more about the history of soccer, since it originated in England.
The lessons are cut short, as the clock tower mages become too much for Rex to handle, so they go back home.
Growing up
Thanks to his soccer skills, Ed is able to get a scholarship to attend university.
Mari starts to study botany to have a "normal" career, outside of magecraft. She also dabbles in singing, despite the embarrassment.
The twins start to have proper control of their divine authority. Tho it leads to... difficulties...
[ERROR. ENTRY NOT FOUND.]
Thanks to said difficulties... Rex and Quetz insist that the twins remain in their protection, until they can figure things out.
[ERROR. REMAINING TIMELINE ENTRIES NOT FOUND. PLAUSIBLE CAUSE: "DIVINE INTERVENTION"]
...what happened to the rest of the timeline...?
Good question... maybe the remaining entries... should be kept secret for the time being...
I'm not sure how to feel about the phrase... "Divine Intervention"
...it's probably nothing to worry about mijo... or at least... I hope not...

New Historical Fiction: recommendations
Band of Sisters by Lauren Willig
A scholarship girl from Brooklyn, Kate Moran thought she found a place among Smith’s Mayflower descendants, only to have her illusions dashed the summer after graduation. When charismatic alumna Betsy Rutherford delivers a rousing speech at the Smith College Club in April of 1917, looking for volunteers to help French civilians decimated by the German war machine, Kate is too busy earning her living to even think of taking up the call. But when her former best friend Emmeline Van Alden reaches out and begs her to take the place of a girl who had to drop out, Kate reluctantly agrees to join the new Smith College Relief Unit. Four months later, Kate and seventeen other Smithies, including two trailblazing female doctors, set sail for France. The volunteers are armed with money, supplies, and good intentions—all of which immediately go astray. The chateau that was to be their headquarters is a half-burnt ruin. The villagers they meet are in desperate straits: women and children huddling in damp cellars, their crops destroyed and their wells poisoned. Despite constant shelling from the Germans, French bureaucracy, and the threat of being ousted by the British army, the Smith volunteers bring welcome aid—and hope—to the region. But can they survive their own differences? As they cope with the hardships and terrors of the war, Kate and her colleagues find themselves navigating old rivalries and new betrayals which threaten the very existence of the Unit. With the Germans threatening to break through the lines, can the Smith Unit pull together and be truly a band of sisters?
Endless Mercy by Tracie Peterson, Kimberley Woodhouse
Madysen Powell has always been a forgiving person, but when her supposedly dead father shows up in Nome, Alaska, her gift for forgiveness is tested. Still, Madysen is restless and dreams of performing her music around the world. The arrival of a traveling show could prove just the chance she needs, and the manager promises more than she ever dreamed. Daniel Beaufort arrives in Nome, searching for his own answers after the gold rush leaves him with only empty pockets. Still angry about the death of his loved ones, he longs to start fresh but doesn't have high hopes until he ends up helping at the Powell dairy making cheese. Drawn to the beautiful redhead with big dreams, will deceptions from the past tear apart any hope for the future?
The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner
April 18, 1906: A massive earthquake rocks San Francisco just before daybreak, igniting a devouring inferno. Lives are lost, lives are shattered, but some rise from the ashes forever changed. Sophie Whalen is a young Irish immigrant so desperate to get out of a New York tenement that she answers a mail-order bride ad and agrees to marry a man she knows nothing about. San Francisco widower Martin Hocking proves to be as aloof as he is mesmerizingly handsome. Sophie quickly develops deep affection for Kat, Martin's silent five-year-old daughter, but Martin's odd behavior leaves her with the uneasy feeling that something about her newfound situation isn't right. Then one early-spring evening, a stranger at the door sets in motion a transforming chain of events. Sophie discovers hidden ties to two other women. The first, pretty and pregnant, is standing on her doorstep. The second is hundreds of miles away in the American Southwest, grieving the loss of everything she once loved. The fates of these three women intertwine on the eve of the devastating earthquake, thrusting them onto a perilous journey that will test their resiliency and resolve and, ultimately, their belief that love can overcome fear.
The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner
A female apothecary secretly dispenses poisons to liberate women from the men who have wronged them—setting three lives across centuries on a dangerous collision course. Rule #1: The poison must never be used to harm another woman. Rule #2: The names of the murderer and her victim must be recorded in the apothecary’s register. One cold February evening in 1791, at the back of a dark London alley in a hidden apothecary shop, Nella awaits her newest customer. Once a respected healer, Nella now uses her knowledge for a darker purpose—selling well-disguised poisons to desperate women who would kill to be free of the men in their lives. But when her new patron turns out to be a precocious twelve-year-old named Eliza Fanning, an unexpected friendship sets in motion a string of events that jeopardizes Nella’s world and threatens to expose the many women whose names are written in her register. In present-day London, aspiring historian Caroline Parcewell spends her tenth wedding anniversary alone, reeling from the discovery of her husband’s infidelity. When she finds an old apothecary vial near the river Thames, she can’t resist investigating, only to realize she’s found a link to the unsolved “apothecary murders” that haunted London over two centuries ago. As she deepens her search, Caroline’s life collides with Nella’s and Eliza’s in a stunning twist of fate—and not everyone will survive.

Best Live Action Short Film Nominees for the 93rd Academy Awards (2021, listed in order of appearance in the shorts package)
NOTE: For viewers in the United States (continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawai’i) who would like to watch the Oscar-nominated short film packages, click here. For virtual cinemas, you can purchase the packages individually or all three at once. You can find info about reopened theaters that are playing the packages in that link. Because moviegoing carries risks at this time, please remember to follow health and safety guidelines as outlined by your local, regional, and national health officials.
This blog, since 2013, has been the site of my write-ups to the Oscar-nominated short film packages. No pandemic was going to stop me this year, as I was able to view the short film packages virtually thanks to a local repertory, the Frida Cinema of Santa Ana, California. Without further ado, here are the nominees for the Best Live Action Short Film at this year’s Oscars. Films predominantly not in the English language are listed with their nation of origin.
The Present (2020, Palestine)
Since the 1990s, the Israeli military has set up hundreds of checkpoints within Palestine’s West Bank. These checkpoints have impeded Palestinian movement within the Israeli-occupied West Bank, supposedly to better protect the extraterritorial Israeli settlements there. Directed by Farah Nabulsi, The Present could have easily fell into an agitprop trap – leaning on political outrage rather than the individual emotions that power this film – but it deftly avoids doing so. On the day of his wedding anniversary with his wife, Yusef (Saleh Bakri) decides to go shopping with daughter Yasmine (Maryam Kanj). Yusef and Yasmine travel to and from Bethlehem (which is in Palestine, but is not easily accessible by Palestinians) to purchase a new refrigerator, groceries, and a few goodies for Yasmine. The process of traveling just a few miles from home proves onerous and humiliating.
Nabulsi’s film never feels like a lecture, instead preferring to juxtapose the cruel ironies that these Israeli checkpoints embody. The viewer intuits how militarized and confusing these checkpoints must be to the Palestinians. Israel’s apartheid mindset extends to the West Bank – the checkpoints have a single lane for Israeli drivers and a gated, narrow entryway specifically for the Palestinians. Past the checkpoint during their time shopping, life seems briefly normal. That Nabulsi can navigate the contrasting emotions between these scenes reflects the tautness of this film and its hints of Italian Neorealism. Bakri, as Yusef, is excellent during his tense conversations with the Israeli soldiers, even if some of these moments feel more stilted due to the actors playing the soldiers and the guerrilla filmmaking this piece employs. For Kanj, as Yasmine, one can see her anguish in seeing her father discriminated against on what should have been a special day. For Palestinian children, injustice is a rite of passage.
My rating: 8/10
Feeling Through (2019)
It is a chilly night in New York City at an hour where few are outside by choice. Teenager Tareek (Steven Prescod) is homeless. After saying good night to his friends, he happens upon Artie, a deafblind man (Robert Tarango, who is deafblind himself) holding up a sign requesting anyone to assist him. Curious and half-willing to help, Tareek taps Artie on the arm. Artie pulls out a tattered notepad and marker, asking for help to get to a bus stop. What follows is an uplifting connection between two cast-off souls, sharing each other’s good company and good humor if only for a brief time. Director Doug Roland based Feeling Through on an encounter he had with a deafblind man named Artemio. Roland’s film was accomplished in collaboration with the Hellen Keller Center.
Cynical viewers might view Feeling Through as syrupy, its swirling score too manipulative, the screenplay predictable, the filmmaking pedestrian. To different extents, each of those criticisms are true, but that does not undermine the raw inspiration responsible for this film’s pulse. It boasts solid performances from Prescod and Tarango – the latter a kitchen worker from Long Island and possibly the first deafblind actor in a lead role in film history. Roland’s screenplay beautifully strips away stereotypes of deafblind people. Tarango, as Artie, is neither overly dependent nor secluded from society. He knows that being deafblind sets him apart from those who can see and hear, and embraces the difference – lending a refreshing directness to how he communicates. Despite its lack of filmmaking or acting pedigree compared to its other nominees in this category, Feeling Through enters this Academy Awards season without a single loss in any of the film festivals that it screened in. No wonder: it is a crowd-pleaser in the best sense, without ever glossing over how difficult it is to be deafblind.
My rating: 9/10
Two Distant Strangers (2020)
Production on Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe’s Two Distant Strangers began in the shadow of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Its emotions are raw and there is no doubt behind the importance of the film’s messaging. Carter (rapper Joey Bada$$) has had some first date with Perri (Zaria Simone), and leaves in the morning to get home to his pet dog. Just outside the apartment building door, a police officer named Merk (Andrew Howard) stops Carter, profiles him, and ultimately kills Carter in cold blood. Once Carter dies, the film cuts to Carter and Perri in bed once again. Immediately, the viewer knows this film is a time loop a la Groundhog Day (1993), and, no matter what precautions he takes, Carter just cannot avoid execution from Merk’s hands. Through the film’s structure, Free and Roe capture the sinking, repetitive feeling that black Americans go through when hearing the news of yet another incident of police brutality.
Good intentions and urgency, however, do not necessarily make a worthy film. Some of the editing in Two Distant Strangers’ middle third shows too many images of Carter’s bullet-riddled body. After the first few instances of the time loop, the viewer does not need another glimpse of a lead-shredded corpse, blood splattering across pavement. The filmmaker’s fury towards Carter’s situation – that nothing will change – is already evident in the idea of such killings. Combined with the questionable dialogue in the final time loop and the mediocre acting, this all feels exploitative, an unwitting product of Hollywood’s history of fetishizing black trauma. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), historically, likes to reward films they perceive as demonstratively staged and thematically urgent. Two Distant Strangers meets both these criteria, but this material could have retained its rage without as much sensationalism.
My rating: 6/10
White Eye (2019, Israel)
Like Feeling Through, Tomer Shushan’s White Eye – the winner of the Narrative Short Film award at South by Southwest (SXSW) – was based on an actual encounter in its director’s life. Late at night in the streets of Tel Aviv, Omer (Daniel Gad) has spotted his stolen bicycle locked onto a rack. Omer lost his bike more than a month ago, has not filed a police report, and seeks to reclaim it as soon as possible. The police are of no help, and the people proximate to the intersection where these events take place are unwilling or hesitant to help. The now-owner of the bike is an Eritrean refugee named Yunes (Dawit Tekelaeb), and he insists to his manager (Reut Akkerman) and to Omer that he did not know that the bike was stolen property when he purchased it. And yet Omer’s tenacity and fit of passion spirals the situation beyond his or Yunes’ control.
White Eye is impressively staged, filmed in a single take – no cuts, no edits, all in real-time. To compare this film one last time to Feeling Through, White Eye accomplishes all it needs to say at a short film’s length. Some might claim Saar Mizrahi’s cinematography and 360º smooth-rotating is just another modern filmmaking gimmick; instead, it submerges the viewer into Omer’s mentality as he fights to retrieve his bike. The purposefully subjective framing questions the viewer on what our reactions might be in this situation, how deeply would we allow out outrage – and perhaps our ethnic/racial biases – to guide our actions. Shushan challenges the audience not to adopt Omer’s conclusions and emotions so readily, and he does a masterful job in appealing to and challenging one’s empathy as it becomes clear there will be no storybook ending.
My rating: 8/10
The Letter Room (2020)
By virtue of its central actor, The Letter Room is the most high-profile of this year’s nominees. Elvira Lind’s film is a dark comedy and its approach and tone are difficult to categorize. Richard (a mustached Oscar Isaac, who is Lind’s spouse) is a corrections officer who has requested a departmental transfer. With the transfer, he trades a more hands-on role for an office job. As the prison’s communications director, his responsibilities now entail filing through all of the prisoners’ incoming and outgoing mail – reading through all of the letters, reporting to his superiors for prison rules violations, censoring materials if necessary. At first, this role is as tedious as his previous position. But when Richard begins to read the histories of the prisoners and their loved ones, he becomes emotionally invested in a particular exchange between one death row inmate and his loved one (Alia Shawkat).
The Letter Room, despite a serviceable performance by Isaac as the unusual and stiff lead, has a milquetoast commentary about how the American criminal justice system imprisons more than just the inmates. These themes shambolically merge with Richard’s inherent loneliness, his inability to separate his own feelings from the voyeuristic work that his new position entails. This is a fellow looking for meaningful human connection, finding none, and attempting to understand something he has never found. The Letter Room curiously never questions the tricky ethics of Richard’s decision to intervene with the decisions made by Alia Shawkat’s character, and how the power disparities of his interactions color his life. The film’s conclusion is unearned, placing too neat a bow on a film that cannot balance its incongruous themes.

Note
could you elaborate on the long term plot of greater boston? i don't mind spoilers! i tried it but couldn't get past the first episode :( but i trust your taste and i've liked every other show you've rec'd so i wanna keep listening
EDIT: okay for some reason the formatting of this post is EXTREMELY befuckened and I can’t get it to behave, so it’s possible that this isn’t going to display with a spoiler cut and if so I am VERY sorry. the “keep reading” break is in the ask instead of the body of the post I have no idea what’s happening right now but if you don’t want spoilers please be aware this post spoils like everything about the show
Sure thing! I will .... do my best, but because of the nature of GB’s plot it’s a bit difficult to describe it without ending up either way too detailed or way too vague. But I will absolutely do my best because if there is any show out there that deserves it, this is that show. Cut for Obvious Spoiler Reasons!
So, there’s a LOT of plot that goes on, but what a plot summary could never convey is that the real heart and soul of this show is the characters. There are a metric fuckton of them, and every one of them is multidimensional and dynamic and wonderful, even if it’s not always obvious at first.
Leon Stamatis of course starts the show by abruptly dying of Existential Crisis/Panic Attack on a roller coaster, which sets everything else in motion. Of that big ensemble cast, at first the most important players are
Nica, Leon’s little sister who wants to be famous but doesn’t really have any concrete plans as to how
Dimitri, Leon’s little brother who is currently traveling in a submarine attempting to find Atlantis and keeps sending Leon letters, unaware that he’s dead
Louisa, Leon’s recent ex, a wedding photographer who later quits and becomes a crime scene photographer slash detective
Leon’s best friend/roommate Michael, who is unemployed and has just had a relapse after being sober for 12 years because he has no idea what to do without Leon
Gemma, a lesbian who absolutely hates her job as an editor at Third Sight, a company which publishes magazines relating to astrology/psychic stuff/divination/etc
Charlotte, Gemma’s pregnant wife, who has recently lost her job as an animation background artist and is feeling directionless
Professor Paul Montgomery Chelmsworth, aka the Mayor of the Red Line, a slightly eccentric college professor and casual friend of Leon’s who is inspired by his death to call for a referendum declaring that the Red Line of the Boston subway system will become an independent city.
It’s that last one that is the real ~main plot~ of the show: at first, more and more of the characters getting caught up in the campaign to create the city of Red Line, and then the chaos that results when they succeed and actually have to run it. But you also have characters like Louisa and Nica and Michael, dealing with a whole rainbow of grief and distress as they cope with Leon’s death. His eccentric personality is the other driving force of the show’s events -- Leon was caring and compassionate, but also obsessed with timetables, organization, and scheduling every action in his life down to the minute.
The other major force in the show is Third Sight, a magazine publisher with a focus on fortunetelling and the like; Michael ends up working there, along with Gemma and several other major characters. Third Sight also has an enigmatic boss no one has ever seen, who turns out to be a manipulative little bastard named Oliver West.
While Red Line successfully becomes a city, “Mayor” Chelmsworth turns out to have some major commitment issues and vanishes as soon as the vote passes, leaving Charlotte and Gemma to clean up the mess. Charlotte ends up interim mayor, but also begins to campaign for the upcoming mayoral election, in which she has two opponents: Isabelle Powell, a Black realtor and an incredible character whom I absolutely cannot do justice here, and Emily Bespin, Literally The Worst Person Who Has Ever Existed, Holy Fuck I Hate Her So Much.
The election is being manipulated behind the scenes by Oliver West, who also takes advantage of Nica’s isolation and a near mental breakdown to convince her to help him by orchestrating several escalating ~pranks~ in Red Line. Honestly he’s manipulating literally everyone, and also heavily backing Emily Bespin, in an attempt to profit off of influence in the new city. Eventually this ends up with Michael kidnapped and imprisoned, several other characters attacked and one badly hurt during a wedding in Red Line, and Isabelle Powell’s nephew framed for the attack. That results in Powell’s supporters beginning a set of protests which throw Red Line into even further chaos, even as Charlotte and Nica begin to have some real moral epiphanies about how they’ve been acting.
As events continue to escalate and the election draws closer and closer, the now-assembled cast have to figure out just who exactly is manipulating events and how -- not to mention how to prove Powell’s nephew’s innocence, what the hell has happened to Michael, and what the hell they’re going to do if Bespin wins the election and makes good on her promise to evict everyone involved in the protests.
Meanwhile, Dimitri is traumatized by finding a mass grave at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, gets rescued and then imprisoned in Alaska by infamous vanished plane hijacker DB Cooper, finally makes it home to Boston disillusioned and lonely only to inevitably find out his brother has been dead for two years, and then gets totally rejected by his sister, because he basically can’t catch a break.
Also meanwhile, the same conflicts playing out in Red Line play out on a more metaphysical level, in the structure of the show itself. While the first season only hints at the possibility that Leon might not be quite as gone as everyone thinks, as the show progresses Leon’s ghost makes his presence known by starting to argue with the omniscient narration. Increasingly taking over the show’s narration until a brilliant scene where said narrator quits and audibly gets up from the microphone and leaves, Leon, the man who spent his whole life trying to impose order on the chaos of the universe around him, finds himself battling the very structure of the story they’re in, in an attempt to help his friends as both he and they are caught up in the chaos of Red Line and Oliver West’s plans. Unfortunately, the structure of the story has other ideas, and plans of its own.
None of this, of course, even begins to touch on the cheese robots; or Michael’s ongoing struggle with self-actualization and alcoholism; or Mallory the foulmouthed teenager who somehow manages to first witness and then be involved in nearly every major plot event of the show; or the in-depth examination of structural racism as it relates to things like housing and city planning and Boston’s history and well-intentioned white liberals and the imprisonment of Black youth; or Star Trek obsessed chaotic neutral gay reporter Chuck Octagon and that one time he flirted with his own mirror universe self; or the complex but beautiful process of Charlotte and Gemma working on their relationship in the midst of all this chaos because while they have troubles throughout they truly love one another and are trying to be better people; or the fact that one of the other major characters is an insufferable Loud Vegan member of a polyamorous commune who -- on the advice of his ~spirit advisor~ the ghost of 19th century feminist writer Mary Wollstonecraft keeps changing his name throughout the show to things including Earthman, Panda Bear, Extinction Event, and Dipshit; or the unfortunately real Olive Garden food truck; or the laughter and the tears and the flamethrowers and the fact that one of the show’s most important and heartbreaking conversations takes place on an amusement park log flume ride audibly filled with liquid nacho cheese.
It’s a good show, is what I’m saying, basically.

Kroojin Wedding!
ahhh the first of the nine muses to wed, I’m so proud :’)
@hey-hey-chan ily <333
(this is just a fun thing we were joking about that I decided to do bc I love weddings and I love the nine muses)
The Proposal:
Tumblr media
Okay so Kris and Woojin were vacationing in Iceland over their anniversary
And Woojin took her to this frozen lake at night to see the aurora
Kris was like “It’s so beautiful.  I’ve never seen anything more beautiful in my life”
and Woojin was like “I have”
(looking at her obvs)
and then he dropped to his knee and did the whole thing
ya know “I love you, you’re the light of my life, I want to spend the rest of my life with you” and all that jazz
and Kris was kinda speechless for a second
and then she said “yea ily2″
(obviously)
and poof they were engaged!!
The Ring:
Tumblr media
Okay now onto the actual wedding...
Tumblr media
Season: Winter
Ceremony: In an atrium of a luxurious hotel in Alaska
Favorite Couple Photo: in the snow outside the hotel
The Reception: In the ballroom of the hotel
Tumblr media
Color Scheme: Navy & Silver
Song: Halo ~ Beyonce
Special Drink: Winter White Cosmo (cranberry vodka, Cointreau, lime juice & syrup, white cranberry juice)
Hair: Up-do (see photo above)
Cake: Layers of dark chocolate champagne & country spice
The Wedding Party:
Tumblr media
The bridesmaids ( @doublekn0t @s0ftminho @straycuties @scene-stealers @realstraykids @hwangs @hyyunjinn and myself) wear these sleeveless navy blue dresses
and the groomsmen (Chan, Minho, Changbin, Hyunjin, Jisung, Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin) all wear gray suits with navy ties.
(it’s a lovely wedding party and hey everyone’s together isn’t that perfect XD)
The Menu:
Tumblr media
Before we move on to all the interesting events, I gotta show y’all Woojin in his tux...
Tumblr media
Okay now onto the fun stuff...
okay so the wedding ceremony itself was not super dramatic
like nothing went wrong bc nobody would mess with these fluffy bears
like the flower girl went the wrong way and Chan ended up with a basket on his head
but he and his date (Em ofc) just laughed it off and he helped the flower girl by throwing all the petals that were on him back onto the aisle
and ofc the typical Kris enters and Woojin smiles so brightly when he sees her
like “am I actually lucky enough to marry this beautiful girl”
and they exchange their vows and its beautiful
and they kiss and Jeungmin and Jeonglin pretend to be grossed out bc we’re fetuses
and Chan’s crying
and Em’s judging Chan for crying
And Minho’s just like “yea get it Woojin!!”
and Cici just lowkey scoots away from her dork of a bf
and Changbin's trying to hide his tears
but astrella hugs him and starts crying with him
and Hyunjin’s snapping a million photos with Maria helping him
tbh he’d probs rope her into using his polaroid camera to get some artsy polaroid as well as his professional-grade photos
and haz and felix are lowkey playing footsie the entire time
and then Jicolle are trying not to laugh bc they managed to get away with coloring a small strip of Woojin’s hair neon pink when he fell asleep
okay onto the reception
so everyone’s like eating and all that and it’s super cute like woojin’s feeding Kris
and then Changbin turns to Astrella and is like “why can’t we do that?”
and she shoves an entire loaf of bread in his face
and everyone’s laughing at Changstrella and joking around and Em and Chan are making sure the chillings only drink a little alcohol (except we all know how Em would actually be *ahem*)
so Chan would probs have to subtly switch Em over to mocktails
im kidding guys Em doesn’t have a drinking problem em pls don’t kill me lol
But yea everyone would just be having a blast and cooing over the newlyweds
Minho wouldn’t stop making honeymoon jokes
Cici would tell him he’d be sleeping on the couch that night if he doesn’t stop
tbh I’m probably just stuffing my face the entire time
who am I kidding I’d be so enveloped with Jeongin like I couldn’t stop paying attention to him
except ofc to be a supportive friend to ma girl Kris who just got hitched
so after dinner the music starts so ofc Hyunia is the first to go out there and bust some moves
and soon after comes Minci who starts grinding (cici I warned you i’d make him grind in this lmao sorry but also its funny so I dont regret it XD)
Hazlix are just dabbing and doing the shoot dance until Chem drag them from the dance floor and force some chamomile tea into them
where tf they got chamomile tea idek, tbh chan probs brought a bunch of teabags for that purpose
wow I've officially turned chan into a british grandma ok
aNYway, pretty soon everyone is on the dance floor
except Jeonglin bc I refuse to dance
until the cupid shuffle comes on
then everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) is on the dance floor dancing along and Jisung and Nicolle are so hyped they go ham on the cupid shuffle
and end up causing a human domino effect
and the entire dance floor is on the ground
and they are too
but from laughing too hard
time for chem to give them a time out
so then Kroojin’s song comes on
(halo ofc, remember the info about the wedding from like a decade ago?)
and everyone parts and stands to watch as Kris and Woojin dance along to it, beaming at each other with so much love in their eyes
oof im soft
soon other peeps join in
even Jeungmin join in being all touchy-feely for one song, and they’re like cuddling up together until Chan whips out a ruler and shoves it between them
sorry this is turning into such a crack fic oml
but yea everyone is slow dancing and it’s all nice and sweet
and Minci is lowkey making out while dancing
I’m so sorry Cici I’m making you guys so wild lmao
so the song ends and the party gets crunk again
(And I go back to my seat and shove my face with chocolate mousse
and Jeongin’s never had chocolate mousse so I’m taunting him with mine
until he finally tricks me into giving him some
sorry I just gotta add Jeongin in here more bc I love him sm
so by the time the cake’s arrived everyone’s danced up an appetite
and Hazlix just stuff their faces with cake
and Jicolle teams up with Hazlix to steal the leftover wedding cake
(don’t ask me how but they pull it off)
and manage to frame Jeungmin
so Chem is furious at Jeungmin for the rest of the night
and Kroojin is clueless bc they’re just so in love
nobody get’s blackout drunk bc Chem is there to be moms (is that foreshadowing I see for the Chem wedding where they’re too busy/distracted to monitor the chillings??? O.o)
nahhhh it couldn’t be
so anyway the night ends too soon
bc Kroojin’s gotta hop on a plane to
Tumblr media
SWITZERLAND!!
for skiing on the swiss alps and cuddling together by the fire with hot cocoa
and ofc they bring teddy bears
wow this was thick but if you’ve stuck it through this far first of all im impressed and secondly wtf are you doing with your life
jkjk ily for reading all of this tbh it was actually really fun!  I love weddings too much lmao I got carried away while doing this it was originally gonna be like a short bulleted list about the fun stuff that went down with the nine muses and skiz during the reception but pinterest sucked me in
anyway that’s all for tonight!  get hyped for the next wedding coming soon!
(hopefully)

I don’t need saving. - Kelly Severide ♡ {THE HEALING}
Tumblr media
A/N: I’ve decided to write this as a way to process and cope with recent events I’ve been dealing with privately. It has made me very depressed holding it in, and not telling people how I really feel, so in attempt to move passed this, I’m going to find comfort in my writing and my new found love for Chicago Fire and Kelly Severide. I’ll start by giving a little intel on what went down in my personal life through a vignette, and yes it is going to be painful to relive what happened, but that’s a way of coping and I do believe in the end I will feel a hell of a lot better.
Personal Vignette: {create an atmosphere not a story}
There he was, ready to celebrate with me and my family. I just wanted to enjoy myself. 20 years old, just moved in to a brand new, beautiful apartment with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew. Of course I wanted to celebrate my independence. If that meant accepting drinks from an attractive guy all night, what did I have to lose.
Damn, he’s attractive. Damn, he’s my sister-in-law’s cousin. Damn, he’s one of my brother’s best friends. Damn, he may be 20 but he’s married. Damn, he’s a cheater. Maybe they shouldn’t have rushed into marriage at such a young age? Maybe getting married at 17 because he wanted to take her with him to Alaska, while he was serving in the army was a terrible idea and he regrets it every day of his life? Maybe he’ll leave her and I could be the girl he chooses to change for? Maybe she’ll leave him after finding out all the times he’s cheated? Maybe, just maybe I was a fool. “A beautiful little fool”.
[Ps. Written back on March, 21 (2018). Just now decided to post it. Sep.(2018)]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What are you doing, Miss...” A fireman asked as he approached the bridge. I was inches away from falling off, trembling as I held onto the railing.
“What are you doing? Isn’t there an accident over there you need to tend to?” I asked, looking over my shoulder at a vehicle collision down the street.
“No, ma’am. They have it covered. You see, I couldn’t help but notice you- Can we just- talk? Please?”
“I’m done talking!” I sobbed shaking my head. “That’s how I got into this mess, isn’t it?!”
“Miss, please? I don’t know what happened, but I promise you, jumping off this bridge isn’t the answer... Can you just tell me your name?”
“E-Elizabeth.”
“Elizabeth. Liz... Is it okay if I call you Liz?” My head shuddered in a nodding motion in response. I don’t know what came over me or why I was so eager for him to know and say my name. “Liz. Why are you doing this?”
"I was stupid! I let him in-”
“Because of a guy, huh?”
“You’re judging me.” I said, rolling my eyes as I took another look down at the rough water down below.
“No! I’m not judging. I swear, we’ve all been there. It sucks, I know!”
“You don’t get it!” I sobbed some more. “I knew he was a player and I... I drank too much and I-”
“You let him in! I know how it goes, believe me. But that doesn’t mean you should jump. You deserve better. You do! It’s not your fault.”
“I’m so stupid...” I cried, my vision was blurred from the tears. My hands shifting on the rails as I struggled to keep my grip.
“I was engaged once!” He shouted, trying to grasp my attention. “She cheated the night before the wedding...”
“What?” I said, swallowing hard, and turning to look back at him.
“Yeah. So if anyone is stupid here, it’s me. You know what I wanted to do after that?” He said before pointing up at the railing. “The same thing- but believe me, I’m so glad I didn’t! If I did, I wouldn’t be standing here and I wouldn’t have saved all the people I have saved since then and... I wouldn’t have met you. And truthfully, my priority is saving you right now.”
“Oh yeah?” I sniffled, not impressed with that comment. “How does the saying go again- ‘In the end, no one can save you but yourself’?”

“But the people who save themselves don’t have to go through it alone! I’m here and I want to help you! Let me help you, Elizabeth.”
“I’m better off-”
“Please, let me pull you over that rail. I know you’re hurting now and you might not believe a word that that’s coming out of my mouth about how you’re better off alive, but everything about my ex-fiancé is true and if you just give me a chance, I’ll prove it to you. We can go to this bar I like to hangout at, Molly’s, and we can drink and talk to our hearts content about asshole guys that didn’t deserve you and the bitches that broke my heart... I promise it’ll be worth it and you’ll feel better afterwards. You don’t have to go through this alone.”
“How can I trust you...” I whimpered. “Who’s to say you won’t take advantage of me too?” I looked at him, tears streaming down my cheeks.
“Let’s start now then! Raincheck on the drinks.” He said approaching the railing cautiously, watching for my reaction. “My name is Kelly Severide...” He got close to the rail and I let him.
“Squad 3 Lieutenant. Some say I’m a ladies man but trust me, I’ve experienced my fair share of heartbreak.”
“You’re just like him.” I shook my head violently, losing my concentration, as he tried to reach out his hand for me.
“Liz!” He yelled as I lost my balance, trying to get further from him, which entailed backing away from the rail. I fell back but he caught onto my hand just in time.
Tumblr media
"Hang on, okay!” Kelly ordered, gripping my hand tightly and trying to pull me up. “I’m nothing like him, whoever he is! Believe me!” He gripped onto my hand and pulled me up to the rail, hoping I’d manage to grab on and help myself up. “Do you see him around? Do you see him saving people? Is he trying to save you? All he is good for is putting you through pain! I’m nothing like him. I promise!” He said, pulling up with all his might and helping me restrain my balance on the rail. “You don’t want it to end like this-” He let out a deep sigh, gripping onto my arms, not wanting to let go. I stared into his eyes and saw something I hadn’t noticed before. He genuinely cared... I completely regained my balance on the rail, and caved.
“Okay. You’re right...” He quickly took that as an okay to help me over to safety. “Severide, was it?” I sniffled.
“Kelly. Call me, Kelly.” He smirked.
“Molly’s, huh?”
“My shift ends in an hour.” He said looking down at his watch. “Come with me, let me help out on this collision call, and then me and my terrible heartbreak stories are all yours.” He said, walking with me to the car crash down the street.
“-Kay...” I mumbled, with a straight face, following him like a lost puppy. I was taking a huge risk, giving in to a strangers wishes like this but, whatever...
