Revelation 19: Enslaved to God

Imagine the cascade of emotions John must have been experiencing in this gripping vision of judgment, destruction, grief, shock, and the heavenly command to rejoice. Immediately, the inhabitants of heaven responded with shouts of acclamation. After these things I heard a sound like a great throng, multitudes of people in heaven, saying, “Alleluia, the salvation and the glory and the power of…

I AM WALKING IN THE LIGHT
I AM LISTENING TO GOD
I AM CHANGING THROUGH HIM
I AM NEEDING JESUS

READ TIME: 8 Minutes & 10 Seconds

THOUGHTS:
=======================
I remember when I was younger, New Year's would come in. I would stay up all night watching the clock, playing video games, and waiting for the year to ring in because I was young and energetic. As I got older, I would drink the New Year's in and then drink it afterward; it was something I did every New Year sometimes I would be so dunk I would fall asleep.
As I got older and gave my life to Christ, I spent my New Year's night bringing it in with prayer. I will pray from 7:00 pm to midnight, praying and giving God thanks and being grateful for another year; you see how life changes and how when you give your life to God, your goals and your perspective changes.
I couldn’t stay up because I wasn’t being watchful when I was in the world. I didn’t care about my time but when I gave my life to Christ.  I wanted to spend those hours with him. I wanted to be watchful and pray; a lot of times, Jesus is asking us to be watchful over our time and what we do; we talked about Hezekiah the other day and how he was praying for God to give him more time and a lot of us are losing time because we aren’t being watchful and considering our time with him. Still, today, we are going to talk about this parable.
In this parable, he tells us to stay ready, not to be servants with no oil, and to be ready for service. Many of us aren’t ready because we are too busy doing things we shouldn’t do daily. He allows us to get it right and the oil we need, but we must bring our lamps to God.
Verse 38: It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak.
The verse even says even if he comes in the middle of the night, we must be ready. If Jesus comes back right now, will you be ready? A lot of us can't say we are; a lot of us are unprepared because we feel we have the time, and we don’t, and age doesn’t have anything to do with it; the young are dying, just like the old, and if we keep saying the phrase I’m young, I’m young we are going to look up, we will be older; God is calling us to be ready. Is your lamp ready?
Verse 39 But understand this: If the house owner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.
I can tell you precisely what I would do if I were robbed, and just because I can tell you doesn’t mean I'm ready; a lot of times, we aren’t ready because we think this can't happen to us, but when we set a life of prayerfulness in order , when we set a life of mediation and fasting we are getting ready by placing our time with God. A lot of us don’t want to sacrifice the time to pray to God because we feel God understands we have a lot to do, and he does, but he expects us to want to spend time with him.
Do you want to spend time with Him to get ready? It's just like anyone that goes to the gym, and they go every day, day in and day out, whether it rains, sleets, or hails; their at that gym giving it everything they got, and we must do the same every day because we never know when its going to be our last day , the person that’s going to the gym is going for a purpose what is your purpose for prayer time with God , I hope it's not to ask for things but to spend time with God, to soak in his presence.
Verse 39-40 But understand this: If the house owner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
We must be ready not to spend our time being idle but spending time waiting for Jesus and his return; no, we won’t know the time, and that’s why, at all times, we need to do what he asks of us and obey his word and treat others with pity and mercy a lot of us don’t want to do the things he’s asking us to do but to say we love Jesus we must follow His commands , in his word it says if you love me keep my commandments.”
  • Luke 13:3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish
•Luke 13:5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
He says this two times within this chapter: repent unless we all will perish. A lot of us haven’t completely repented; some of us think repentance is just words, but it’s action, our actions must say: I repent of this or I am sorry, but some of us go back to doing what we are doing with no true change; change comes when we turn away from what we are doing and truly see that what we are doing isn’t good. We see people who sin, and we say, oh no, they're wrong, but what about us , some of us are constantly going back to our old ways? To be ready, we must spend time with God and ensure our hearts is in the right position .
***Today, we talked about changes; sometimes it happens because of the season. Sometimes changes happen because we become older and we see that we can’t do what we used to do, and what we used to do in the world was something we did because we were blind, but now we see, and we see that Jesus is the light of the world and the light in our life without this light the word says we are blind.
•Ephesians 5:8 For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
 • John 12:35 So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.
Without Christ in our lives, we don’t know where we are going , every day we have a chance to change what we are doing, and I know changes are tough mainly if we are used to doing things outside of what God wants for us, but when we start God will help lead us the rest of the way, let him lead you today .©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

PRAYER
========================
Heavenly Father, we thank you for today and for never leaving or forsaking us. Lord, we need you so badly today; we ask that you give us peace and continue to show us the way we need you in our lives; we ask you to be with us daily as we carry our cross. Lord, we don’t deserve mercy, but we ask you for it today in our lives; in Jesus Name, amen

Quiet Time 3/30
What am I feeling today?
Kinda frustrated and annoyed. There’s this guy and I want to lose feelings for him. I just don’t think anything could ever happen between us so for my sake and sanity I need to move on. But every time I think I’m fine, I see him again, and all the feelings come rushing back and it’s so frustrating! Anyways, I’m just feeling this way because I briefly saw him last night and then I dreamt about him and it brought back memories that I’m trying to put out of my mind because I just can’t take it anymore. I wish to be free of him.
Luke 14 NIV
(v. 3-5) “Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?” But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him on his way. Then he asked them, “If one of you has a child or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull it out?””
There’s not much to add to this other than it was kind of Jesus to heal on the Sabbath and tried to show how it would be similar to saving someone or something you love. You wouldn’t just let them suffer for another day but you would immediately try and rescue them!
(v. 11) “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.””
Jesús used the parable of a wedding before he said this. That if you are a guest, you wouldn’t take the place of honor (like bridesmaids) otherwise you’d be escorted and embarrassed. And if you take the lowest place, the host will bring you up and take you to a better spot. All in all, it’s to support his point right here. We should not value ourselves so much higher than we are because we’ll be humbled. Rather if we already humble ourselves, we will eventually be exalted.
(v. 13-14) “But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.””
This applies to us now in who to love and care for. We should constantly be aware of the fact that there are people in need, people less fortunate than ourselves. It should be put on our hearts to care for them, to offer what we have, because we’re all human at the end of the day. Our lives are not more valuable than theirs.
(v. 26-27) ““If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.”
This verse does not actually mean that we should hate our family or ourselves (we need to love them and us!). But instead, our love for Jesus should be far, far greater! Our love for Jesus should be so evident that all our other relationships appear as hate because of how great our love is for Jesus. Also, as disciples, we all need to deny ourselves and carry our cross daily!
(v. 28-33) ““Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’ “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.”
This scripture goes over what it’s like to count the cost of being a disciple. Before you become a Christian, you have to see whether you can be. Are you willing to commit the rest of your life to Christ? Are you willing to keep his commands every single day? Will you preach the word and evangelize? fulfilling the great commission because that’s what all his disciples are called to do, not just the ministry? there’s a lot you need to consider and if you’re not willing to give it all up for Christ, you can’t be his disciple, he says so himself.

Mission, we see, is a tireless going out to all men and women, in order to invite them to encounter God and enter into communion with him. Tireless! God, great in love and rich in mercy, constantly sets out to encounter all men and women, and to call them to the happiness of his kingdom, even in the face of their indifference or refusal.
Let us not forget that every Christian is called to take part in this universal mission by offering his or her own witness to the Gospel in every context, so that the whole Church can continually go forth with her Lord and Master to the “crossroads” of today’s world. “Today’s drama in the Church is that Jesus keeps knocking on the door, but from within, so that we will let him out! Often we end up being an ‘imprisoning’ Church which does not let the Lord out, which keeps him as ‘its own’, whereas the Lord came for mission and wants us to be missionaries.”
Today, in a world torn apart by divisions and conflicts, Christ’s Gospel remains the gentle yet firm voice that calls individuals to encounter one another, to recognize that they are brothers and sisters, and to rejoice in harmony amid diversity. “God our Saviour desires everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim 2:4). Let us never forget, then, that in our missionary activities we are asked to preach the Gospel to all: “Instead of seeming to impose new obligations, [we] should appear as people who wish to share their joy, who point to a horizon of beauty and who invite others to a delicious banquet” (Evangelii Gaudium, 14).
Finally, let us lift our gaze to Mary, who asked Jesus to perform his first miracle precisely at a wedding feast, in Cana of Galilee (cf. Jn 2:1-12). The Lord offered to the newlyweds and all the guests an abundance of new wine, as a foreshadowing of the nuptial banquet that God is preparing for all at the end of time. Let us implore her maternal intercession for the evangelizing mission of Christ’s disciples in our own time. With the joy and loving concern of our Mother, with the strength born of tenderness and affection (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, 288), let us go forth to bring to everyone the invitation of the King, our Saviour. Holy Mary, Star of Evangelization, pray for us!

If we are not deeply disturbed and agitated by our gospel today, it can mean only one of two things: either we are all saints, having fully embraced the reality of the kingdom in our lives, or we are spiritually deluded, having silenced our consciences to such an extent that we are oblivious to the truth and indifferent to the coming judgment.
For this parable teaches us that while God is merciful and forgiving, he is also a God of justice and truth. He showers his grace upon us, but we are still responsible for how we respond to his actions. Our destiny is in our own hands. "God created us without our cooperation", St. Augustine says, "but he cannot save us unless we cooperate." And nowhere does this become more vivid than in the images of our parable.
First we are shown the nature of the gift we have been given and its value. It is described as a wedding feast. Now as Catholics we know and understand what this means. The book of Revelation calls it the Wedding feast of the Lamb. The Lamb is the Son who, by means of his perfect sacrifice brings about the marital union with the Church. It is the Eucharistic feast, celebrating the union of Christ the heavenly Bridegroom and his Bride the Church. It is God the Father, the king, who gives the supper: "My dinner is ready," he has his servants announce, "Come to the wedding."
The invitation, then, has been given. But this doesn't necessarily mean that everyone will respond or participate worthily. No; in fact, just the opposite. The invitation, we are told can be scorned in a number of ways. Some we are told respond with indifference. They care nothing for the grace that is offered to them and make light of it. They have better things to do - their earthly business is more pressing and more valued. "Do I really want to give up my precious time? I could be sleeping, working, studying, watching the football game."
Others reject the invitation altogether and hold it in contempt. They mock those who take it seriously. Theirs too is a familiar approach: "Religion is a crutch for the weak minded of our world." They take the invitation to be a personal offense - for it suggests a need and a poverty that don't believe they have.
And finally, there are those who accept the invitation, but who come to the feast unprepared morally and spiritually. They have not put on the wedding garment - they have not clothed themselves with virtue - they have not put on the mind of Christ. They stroll into the Eucharistic celebration as if entering a pub, thinking "Why should I get dressed up? The king should be happy that I come at all, that I still communicate, that I bother myself enough to leave my pew to stuff a bit of bread in my mouth." They are present, but don't have the faintest inkling of the grandeur of the event.
None of these responses is without its consequences. The images Jesus uses, I think, make this perfectly clear. We are not simply being invited to a fraternity party, where our rejection of the invitation has no moral or spiritual significance. Neither is our acceptance of the invitation by itself enough to save. Our coming to the banquet, the Holy Eucharist, is not enough. In fact, we may eat and drink to our condemnation if we eat and drink unworthily.
What we are offered here is nothing less than eternal life and a participation in the fullness of God's love. However, this love is not indulgence, or a spinelessness that coddles us in our sin, but a call to embrace that which alone can bring us true wholeness and purity. The Father has given his last and best; he has nothing better. He who scorns this most precious gift can expect nothing more. There is a rigor in God's mercy.

RECLAMATION OF DESTINY
"The vats will overflow with the new wine and oil. Then I will make up to you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten." - Joel 2:24,25
Many are trapped in a great pit — the pit of despair, of sin, of compromise, of failure and hopelessness. The Great Shepherd extends His hand to pull OUT desperate souls, giving them a second chance and making all things NEW!
God desires to restore all that the locust has eaten in your life! He will give you double for your trouble and turn your scars into stars reversing the curse.
Do not lose hope and accept your desperate situation, but rather:
speak to your pit, to your circumstances, and say, 'I AM COMING OUT!'
Satan has tried to manipulate and deceive, convincing many that there is no way out of the pit, and when they believe his words, they become apathetic and lose hope. But his words are lies, because you are coming up and out!  Let’s focus on the anointing God has given us to stand against the schemes of the wicked one!  Let’s reintegrate divine authority into our prayers and spiritual warfare, taking up the “full armor of God” (Ephesians 6:11).
TAKE THE HAND OF JESUS
You MUST invest and be a good steward of this time, in order to be prepared for what is coming in the near future.  Do not say, "I have another year to get it together," or  "I will worry about that later."  NOW is the time!  You have a choice—will you remain in your pit, or will you take the hand of the Great Shepherd who desires to pull you out and once again set your feet on solid rock?
So take the Lord's hand, and let Him pull you out and give you a second chance! --  He is calling you! --  Come out and be separate!  “Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” – Ephesians 5:17.  Do not dabble in the world.  Do not flirt with compromise and sin, for satan knows his time is short, and that what he does he must do quickly. Be not ignorant of his evil plans toward you – we discern the enemy, move in Christ’s authority and learn perseverance in the fight of faith.
He has a table prepared just for you—a place already set, and He is inviting you to come and fellowship with Him again at His table.
He is calling you home right now. Do not feel shame, guilt, or fear, but COME as you are and He will lovingly restore you . DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER!  He has already prepared a feast for you, as well as a new set of royal robes, and right now He gives you a rod of authority. He will restore you, and you will reclaim all!
"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." Luke 15:20
DEDICATED TO THE DEEPER THINGS OF GOD
We stand at a crossroads. There will be a great and terrible divide between those who are hungry for God and those who are spiritually content in their apathy.
"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut." Matthew 25:10
There will be a great divide between the "wise virgins" of Matthew 25 and the "foolish ones."  And while the apathetic spirit of Laodicea (see Revelation 3:14-22) will increase there is a growing remnant who seeks God's heart, and refuses to compromise or accept anything less than a revelation of His PURPOSE for their life and His manifest presence which produces a hunger to aid in establishing the King in His Kingdom (Hebrews 1:14).
Desperate ones will come out of the pit of Laodicea (Revelation 3:16-17) --  fully abandoning themselves to walk in their Christ calling.  They are not left empty-handed, for God will fill their treasures with Himself and they will feast on His presence, becoming mighty warriors equipped with everything they need for advancing His Kingdom and bearing fruit that remains.  Let Your Kingdom come, Oh Lord!
The Lord is saying, "Mighty Warrior, come out of that pit!"
"He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." Psalm 40:2

Firefly Chapter Thirty-Six
YN
Ellie looked between Joel and I. She watched as Joel said nothing and walked away. She turned to me with concern in her eyes. "He's not really going to let us just go off on our own is he? Are we going to go off on our own?" She asked. "Let's go." I said and walked off the way Joel had gone and Ellie threw her hands in the air. "Great talk!" She followed after me and up the stairs to the third floor.
The stairs to the fourth were blocked as were the doors to the hall. "Look, the elevator is open," she said. Joel walked over and set his bag down then fit his hands into the small gap between the doors. He grunted as he struggled to get it open, pushing the doors with all this strength until they finally gave way and opened enough for us to slip through.
Joel held the door while Ellie and I slipped through. There was a ladder inside that we climbed to get up to the elevator beside us. "Exactly how are we going to get up there?" Ellie asked, looking at the open door of the elevator. It was open to the fourth floor. "We are going to climb the wall," I said. She looked at me like I was fucking crazy and maybe I am. "Just follow exactly what I do."
I climb up onto the small metal bar on the wall and start to climb up and across. I go slowly and carefully, making sure to watch where I put my feet and hands. When I'm high enough and close enough to the door I reach a hand out and grab the side, making sure I have a good grip before stretching my leg out, planting my foot on the edge, and healing myself through the door. Once I'm through I take my pack off before standing to watch Ellie.
"Okay, Ellie, do what I did. Take it nice and slow and watch where you're putting your feet." Joel helped her up and she followed the path I took with Joel close behind her. I reached out and helped her over and we moved out of the way for Joel to come through. Just as he came through, a loud snap vibrated and echoed from inside the elevator shaft. We looked down and watched as the elevator crashed to the bottom. "Jesus Christ!" Ellie yelled.
"Holy hell, I'm glad we scaled the wall inside of jumping down onto that thing," I said, picking my pack up, and swinging it onto my back. We made our way through the halls and down a few flights of stairs until we came out where the other entrance was. The doors were of course blocked off my furniture so we walked down the hall where the banquet hall was. We walked through the double wooden doors, tables were set up, a backdrop stood tattered in the back of the room.
"Looks like there might have been a wedding reception either going on or was being set up for when shit went down." On the small stage at the front was a grand piano. The other doors were blocked, no surprise there. "Come on, help me push this against that wall. We can climb up there and get put that way," Joel said. Ellie looked at me and I sighed. I walked over and possibly myself on the other side of the piano. It took a lot of muscle and strength to get it against the wall but we did it. "Fuck, that's heavier than I thought it would be."
We all climbed up onto the piano and then up onto the balcony above the dining room. "Let's get the hell outta here," Joel grumbled. There was a broken window that led out onto scaffolding against the hotel. When we climbed out we quickly ducked down and looked over the side. There was a group of men standing around looking up at a corpse in the tree outside the bank. From the looks of it the body has been there for a few days. "Are we ever going to catch a break?" I whispered.
"They're dead! They're all dead!" Well, this is going to be fun. Joel and I looked at each other. We would need to take these assholes out before we could even think about continuing. "You know if you would give me a gun I could help. Have your back while you two are down there," Ellie whispered. I looked over to the right of us where a skeleton of a person sat in a chair. There was a lever action hunting rifle leaning against the chair beside it.
Staying crouched I went over and grabbed it. I pulled the lever down and an empty round popped out. When I pulled it back up a new round was pushed into the chamber. "Okay, listen to me very fucking closely. You stay up here and only shoot when you see one of us getting into a bind. You pulled down to release the empty round and back up to put a new round in. You need to be quick with it if you miss. Other than that you stay out of sight."
Ellie nodded and I handed her the gun. "I've shot something like that before," she said. I raised my eyebrow at her. "A BB gun," she said. "Pretty much the same concept." I took my pistol out and checked the magazine. "Okay, remember out of sight." I looked at Joel who shook his head. "Jesus, what?" I asked. "You're just going to hand a kid a gun and trust she doesn't shoot you instead?"
I rolled my eyes, "Ellie what have you practiced on?" I asked. She looked at me confused for a second until she understood what I meant. "Oh! Rats," she said. Joel and I looked at her and she shrugged. "Did you hit them?" I asked and she nodded. "If she can hit a rat, which is a lot fucking smaller than a human, I think I'll be fine. So either you can stay here or you can shut the fuck up and help me."
I walked to the edge of the scaffolding and climbed down as quietly as I could. There were concrete road blocks in front of it so I ducked behind one. I flicked the safety off on my gun just as Joel was coming up beside me. "Let's get this over with as quickly as possible." He looked like he wanted to argue, but I stood up and started shooting, hitting three of the five that stood under the hanging corpse.
I ducked back down one another shot at me and Joel popped up taking the other two out. Yelling from more of the group came over by the other stores to the right of us. I ran across the bank, jumping through the broken out windows. I heard Joel hiss my name when I ran over here then I heard his gun going off. Just as I was turning around I had to throw myself to the ground and crawl behind the front desk.
I could hear Ellie taking a couple shots while Joel ran to the coffee shop across from the bank. I looked around the corner and took a shot, hitting the guy that was behind me in the leg. I shot him again, killing him before making a run for the other side of the room. I saw another hiding behind a wall that was made of plywood. I snuck around, putting my gun in its holster and pulling my knife out. I silently got up behind him, putting my hand over his mouth with one hand, and slitting his throat with the other.
There was one last gunshot and then Joel was calling Ellie down. "Alright, come on down!" Ellie's head popped up and looked down at us before making her way down to us. Joel took the rifle from her and checked to make sure there was no more ammo in it. Then he surprised me by taking a pistol he took off one of the men. "Here, this is more your size. Always keep the safety in and keep it in your backpack. You only use it when it's absolutely necessary. Do you understand me?"
She looked over at me and I nodded. She smiled and took the gun from Joel, swinging her backpack off. "I understand," she said, putting it away in her bag. "Alright, let's go. We're not too far from the bridge yet." We walked over to what looked like their camp and went to a loading dock door. Just like last time I helped Joel lift it up and Ellie crawled under it. "Shit. Hold on, let me find something to put under it. The chain is jammed!"
"You ain't going off on your own." I looked over at Joel, raising an eyebrow. "Ellie, hurry up!" I yelled. "Okay! I'm coming!" I looked back at Joel, "Excuse me?" I asked. "I ain't letting you go off on your own. It's too dangerous out there. And besides, Tommy would know exactly where they are." Ellie came back, and we pushed the door up higher so she could push a cart under it. Joel and I climbed underneath and he held the door up so the cart could be pulled back inside.
"I know exactly where they are going to be," I told him. "And how do you know that?" He asked. He pushed something in front of the broken out window that led into the next building so we could climb up. "Because I listen, and I'm observant, Joel. You think I don't pay attention, but I do."

12th November >> Mass Readings (Except USA)
Thirty Second Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle A
(Liturgical Colour: Green: A (1))
First Reading Wisdom 6:12-16 Wisdom is found by those who look for her.
Wisdom is bright, and does not grow dim. By those who love her she is readily seen, and found by those who look for her. Quick to anticipate those who desire her, she makes herself known to them.
Watch for her early and you will have no trouble; you will find her sitting at your gates. Even to think about her is understanding fully grown; be on the alert for her and anxiety will quickly leave you. She herself walks about looking for those who are worthy of her and graciously shows herself to them as they go, in every thought of theirs coming to meet them.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 62(63):2-8
R/ For you my soul is thirsting, O God, my God.
O God, you are my God, for you I long; for you my soul is thirsting. My body pines for you like a dry, weary land without water.
R/ For you my soul is thirsting, O God, my God.
So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory. For your love is better than life, my lips will speak your praise.
R/ For you my soul is thirsting, O God, my God.
So I will bless you all my life, in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul shall be filled as with a banquet, my mouth shall praise you with joy.
R/ For you my soul is thirsting, O God, my God.
On my bed I remember you. On you I muse through the night for you have been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
R/ For you my soul is thirsting, O God, my God.
Second Reading 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Do not grieve about those who have died in Jesus.
We want you to be quite certain, brothers, about those who have died, to make sure that you do not grieve about them, like the other people who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus: God will bring them with him. We can tell you this from the Lord’s own teaching, that any of us who are left alive until the Lord’s coming will not have any advantage over those who have died. At the trumpet of God, the voice of the archangel will call out the command and the Lord himself will come down from heaven; those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise, and then those of us who are still alive will be taken up in the clouds, together with them; to meet the Lord in the air. So we shall stay with the Lord for ever. With such thoughts as these you should comfort one another.

R/ Thanks be to God.
Gospel Acclamation Matthew 24:42 44
Alleluia, alleluia! Stay awake and stand ready, because you do not know the hour when the Son of Man is coming. Alleluia!
Gospel Matthew 25:1-13 The wise and foolish virgins.
Jesus told this parable to his disciples: ‘The kingdom of heaven will be like this: Ten bridesmaids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were sensible: the foolish ones did take their lamps, but they brought no oil, whereas the sensible ones took flasks of oil as well as their lamps. The bridegroom was late, and they all grew drowsy and fell asleep. But at midnight there was a cry, “The bridegroom is here! Go out and meet him.” At this, all those bridesmaids woke up and trimmed their lamps, and the foolish ones said to the sensible ones, “Give us some of your oil: our lamps are going out.” But they replied, “There may not be enough for us and for you; you had better go to those who sell it and buy some for yourselves.” They had gone off to buy it when the bridegroom arrived. Those who were ready went in with him to the wedding hall and the door was closed. The other bridesmaids arrived later. “Lord, Lord,” they said “open the door for us.” But he replied, “I tell you solemnly, I do not know you.” So stay awake, because you do not know either the day or the hour.’

A prayer to our Venerable Father Silouan The Athonite
(Said kneeling)
O holy father Silouan, pray unto God for us.
O all-wondrous father Silouan, favorite of God! By the grace given thee by God to pray with tears for the whole world — the dead, the living and those yet to come — never cease to make entreaty to the Lord for us who earnestly fall down before thee and with compunction beseech thine intercession. Move thou to prayer, O most blessed one, the earnest Helper of the Christian race, the all-blessed Theotokos and Ever-virgin Mary, who wondrously summoned thee to be a faithful husbandman in her earthly garden, where the chosen of God implore Him to be merciful and long-suffering toward our sins, that He not be mindful of our injustices and iniquities, but that in His ineffable goodness our Lord Jesus Christ may take pity and save us in His great mercy. Yea, O favorite of God, with the all-blessed Mistress of the world, the most holy Abbess of Athos, and the holy ascetics of her earthly portion, ask of the Word, Who is holier than all the saints, that Mount Athos and its God-loving desert-dwellers may be preserved in peace from all misfortunes and the assaults, of the enemy, that, delivered by the angels from evils, and strengthened by the Holy Spirit in faith and brotherly love, until the end of time they may offer up supplications for the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church, and may show unto all the path to salvation, that the earthly Church and that of heaven may unceasingly glorify the Creator and Father of lights, illumining and sanctifying the world in the eternal righteousness and goodness of God. For the peoples of the whole world ask, a prosperous and peaceful life, the spirit of humble-mindedness and brotherly love, good morals and salvation, and the spirit of the fear of God, that the hearts of men may not be infected with malice and iniquity, which are able to uproot the love of God in men and cast them into God-opposing enmity and fratricide, but that the name of God may be sanctified in the power of divine love and righteousness on earth and in heaven, that His holy will may be manifest, among men, and that peace and the kingdom of God may reign on earth. Likewise, O favorite of God, for our homeland, beg the peace we desire and the blessing of heaven, that, protected by the almighty veil of the Mother of God, it may be delivered from wrath, famine, plague, earthquake, flood, fire, the sword, foreign invasion, civil war, sudden death, and from all enemies, visible and invisible; and thus, through the power of the life-giving Cross, may be the most sacred dwelling- place of the all-blessed Theotokos until the end of time, and may be established in the superabundant love of God. And for all of us who are sunk in the darkness of sin, who have neither fervent repentance nor the fear of God, and thus immeasurably offend the Lord Who loveth us, O most blessed one, ask of our most compassionate God that He divinely visit and enliven our souls with His omnipotent grace, and that He abolish in our hearts all malice and the pride of life, despondency and negligence. Again we pray that when we are fortified by the grace of the most Holy Spirit and warmed by the love of God, we may be strengthened in love of mankind and our brethren, in humble-mindedness and prayerful crucifixion for one another and for all, and in the righteousness and grace-filled love of God, and may draw nigh unto Him like children: that thus doing His most holy will, we may tread the path of this transitory life unashamed, in all piety and purity, and with all the saints of the heavenly kingdom may be vouchsafed the wedding-banquet of the Lamb. From all those in heaven and on earth be glory, honor and worship unto Him, and His unoriginate Father and His all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
Amen.

Bishop Joseph N Perry: Matthew 21, 1-14
Tumblr media
This is one of my favorite parables of the Gospel:
“A king gave a wedding feast for his son.  He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the wedding, but they refused to come…”
Have you ever had the experience of setting up everything for a party or a dinner or some event, sent out invitations and no one shows up, or very few if any, or someone you especially wanted to be there but they proved a no-show?   What a disappointment particularly after all the attention to detail.  Jesus told a parable about a king who threw a wedding banquet for his son. The parable poignantly references God who arranged just such a party a long, long time ago but very few if any showed up.
Jesus invites us to his banquet at church each week on Sunday. Some never show up and never bother to say why.  Jesus likes to see us show up for his banquet. Why would anyone refuse an invitation from the man called Jesus? Without doubt, what we need to be happy, healthy and holy is right here, if only we have eyes to see and are not so caught up with ourselves.
Coming to the altar to be in the presence of the body and blood of Christ is a weekly invitation to the Lord's feast, yet we too often refuse the invitation.  To avoid doing so requires intentional effort to remind ourselves of who God is and who He is, in and for our lives.  Like those special invitations to an event that surprise us in the mail box, Sunday Mass interrupts our daily routine and begs for us to rearrange our schedule in order to oblige the host and His good thoughts about us to include us on his invitation list.  So, we may have to postpone a couple things, may have to bring out our good clothes with which to meet the Lord on his day, and take part in the sacred banquet he has prepared for us.
Our enthusiasm this way is put to the test often by family obligations, business affairs, the disappointments we encounter in life or lack of interest that has overtaken us, or our misplaced attitudes, and as a result, we put God’s invitation on hold or set it aside altogether. Too often we just don’t see God as playing any practical part in the complexities of our daily lives.
Faith, that vitamin pill of life, is the belief that God loves us despite ourselves and that we always have a place at his table. There is always a place-setting in church awaiting our arrival.  But, faith means little until that invitation is accepted.

Revelation 19: Wedding Banquet of the Lamb
Great rejoicing has broken out in heaven, in response to the heavenly voice’s command to be glad over God’s judgment. The wedding feast of the Lamb is about to commence #Revelation19 #WeddingFeast #Alleluia
Great rejoicing has broken out in heaven, in response to the heavenly voice’s command to be glad over God’s judgment. As John witnessed the throngs of heaven give praise, the same angel who had been speaking to him throughout chapters 17 and 18 now told him to write down how blessed those are who have been invited the wedding banquet of the Lamb, and to reassure John everything the angel had told…

From Emptiness to Expectancy
Today’s Saying:
When we bring our emptiness to Jesus, He fills it with His abundance.
Today’s Scripture:
"Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water’; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, ‘Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.’ They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine." – John 2:7-9a (NIV)
Today’s Sermonette:
Perhaps you’ve entered this new year feeling like you have nothing left to give.
The weight of last year’s challenges may have left you too weary to dream, too tired to hope. You’re not alone in this feeling.
Yet, there is encouragement for us in the story of Christ’s first miracle in John 2:1-12.
At a wedding in Cana, the wine had run out—a moment of emptiness and lack.
Yet Jesus didn’t scorn the empty vessels. Instead, He saw them as an opportunity to demonstrate His glory. What looked like a void became the stage for a miracle.
In the same way, our emptiness isn’t a barrier to Christ’s work in us; it’s an invitation.
When we feel poured out, depleted, and unsure of what lies ahead, we are in the perfect position to experience God’s extravagant grace.
Just as the servants obeyed Jesus’ instructions to fill the jars with water, we too must come to Him in humble obedience, trusting Him to transform our lack into something extraordinary.
Christ specializes in filling what is empty. Whether it’s an empty heart, a weary spirit, or a life that feels directionless, He meets us where we are and fills us with His presence, power, and peace.
Beloved, if you’ve started this year feeling like an empty vessel, take heart. You are precisely where you need to be for God to do a fresh and miraculous work in your life.
Today’s Supplication:
Father, I come before You with open hands and an empty heart. I’m tired and poured out from the trials of the past year. Yet I trust that You can fill my emptiness with Your abundance. Teach me to see my voids as opportunities for Your glory to shine through. Help me approach this new year with expectancy, knowing You delight in filling and restoring. I surrender my weariness to You and invite You to do a fresh work in me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Is It Your Time?
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK
=======================
+ Ecclesiastes 4:5 Fools fold their hands
and ruin themselves.
=======================
VERSE OF THE DAY
======================
+ Matthew 24:37-39 When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 38 In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. “People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.”
=======================
SUBJECT: Is It Your Time?
======================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
I AM READY
I AM NOT AFRAID
I AM BRAVE
I AM CONNECTED
======================
READ TIME: 8 Minutes & 4 Seconds
======================
THOUGHTS:
======================
Many people are enjoying their lives and aren’t paying attention to what God is doing or trying to do in their lives, and that’s what happened in Noah's day. They were so fixated on banquets, parties, and things that they didn’t pay Noah any attention. They wanted to do what they wanted, and before they knew it, the flood came and swept them away.
That's what's happening now. Many people enjoy their lives in a way that isn’t acceptable to God. They are doing things that aren’t acceptable to God. They allow themselves to miss the biggest part in all this: salvation. Jesus died over thousands years ago and rose again, giving us all the opportunity to be saved, but it's up to us to be saved; it's up to us to want to reach and grab what he gave free to the world.
Verse 40: Two men will work together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. 41 Two women will grind flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.
Some of us are so busy with our lives that we won't notice the sudden change. Some will stay on this earth, and others will leave because God won't hold anyone back from coming to heaven just because someone else isn't ready. A lot of us are attracted to our friends, and we are attached to other people. We don’t see that sometimes, the people we are around can cause us to stay behind and cause us to act a certain way because they aren’t ready. I can say this, friends. If you have people in your life who aren’t ready, I ask you to pray for them and pray a covering over them, a submissive spirit for them.
Verse 42: “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
It tells us here to keep watch; a lot of us don’t want to because we want to live any matter way; the way people want to live their life is free from the direction, free from the love of God, but the longer they put it off, the more they will lose out on the perfect gift, this time of year people are looking for gifts and things. Still, the lord is the best gift, which is free. People can do all they can to put Christ last, but Christ will be first.
Every knee will bow. I can tell you that the biggest hurt in life isn’t a lonely life, not having what we wanted, but living without God; some of you are living right now without God in your life. You wonder why you feel alone, why you feel discouraged, why you feel so much pain; it is because you don’t have him in your heart; a lot of us are going through life without him because we want to, and we must not be this way we must stay strong in God and allow him to change us.
Verse 44: You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
We don’t know when the lord is coming back; a lot of us are so used to having our way, and we aren’t used to a disciplined lifestyle; we must have that to see the kingdom of God, and this is why we must always be ready not waiting for the very moment to get in the right hand of God. If God gives us a date, how many of us will be ready and wait until the very second to get it right? God is looking for a person with no spot or wrinkle.
Verse 50-51 The master will return unannounced and unexpected, 51 and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
If we know Christ is returning without announcing himself, why won’t we get it right now? Why won’t we give him everything we can? It’s so many of us who don’t believe he’s coming back because we have heard it so many years, and we think he’s not, but he is; when he returns, those who aren’t ready will be placed in a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It’s nowhere good when we are placed there. God wants to give us every opportunity to get it right, and some of us just can’t because we aren’t ready to leave our lifestyle. We keep thinking I got another day, I got another day, but another day isn’t promised to us.
The servant in this story had time to get it right that his master wasn’t coming back, and he continued his way verse 47-48  I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. 48 But what if the servant is evil and thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’
That’s what some of us think, but it’s a place that we will be going to; if we don’t get it right and no one can save us from we won’t be given another opportunity at all; the lord will allow us to experience this part of life because we every opportunity to place Jesus in our lives , we were told he was coming back, we have to stop playing games and get it right. Jesus is coming again; this time, he will judge us for every idle word and action, but it’s up to us to say I want to live for him; I want to get it right.
*** Today, we learned what will happen if we wait too long to serve God. We learned how he will place us where there will be pain, teeth gnashing, and weeping. This devotion is not to scare you but to get you to see what you are not adhering to. He’s given us each day to get it right, but it’s up to us to get it right. We can’t blame it on anyone else; if we don’t get it in, we must look at ourselves.
Matthew 25:23 His master said, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
God wants to tell us Well done, good and faithful servants; he wants to tell us how proud he is of what we did, but have you done anything in your life he will say this to you , or have you been doing everything you want and not caring about his return. Go to him today and say, Father, I need your help. I am not doing well, but he will show you how to correct your actions because he loves you so much!  ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

Steve was completely caught up in the moment. He willingly kissed Peggy again and when she started complimenting him, he gazed at her with a dopey smile on his face and complete adoration in his eyes. "You look so beautiful. I know how beautiful you are, and I still wasn't prepared," he pecked her lips again. "I missed you too."
The reverend cleared his throat and Steve suddenly became aware that everyone was watching and waiting for them to continue. A blush creeped into Steve's cheeks again and he looked around bashfully. "Sorry. We're excited," he said, despite knowing he didn't really have anything to apologize for. It was their wedding after all.
"Being excited about starting your lives together is nothing to be sorry for," the reverend said. "Let us continue with the blessing of the marriage. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, for you have created joy and gladness, pleasure and delight, love, peace and fellowship. Pour out the abundance of your blessing upon Steven and Margaret in their new life together. Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts and a crown upon their heads. Bless them in their work and in their companionship; awake and asleep, in joy and in sorrow, in life and in death. Finally, in your mercy, bring them to that banquet where your saints feast for ever in your heavenly home. We ask this through Jesus Christ your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
"God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, bless, preserve and keep you; the Lord mercifully grant you the riches of his grace, that you may please him both in body and soul, and, living together in faith and love, may receive the blessings of eternal life. Amen."
He gestured to where a table was set up. "I invite the new Mr and Mrs Rogers and their witnesses to sign the marriage certificate."
Steve grinned at Peggy and took her hand. "Shall we, Mrs Rogers?" he said.

Peggy felt giddy, so full of joy she felt like she would burst, and laugh and cry all at the same time. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed her sweet, handsome husband.
Steve literally swept her off her feet in a perfect, passionate dip and she let out a surprised giggle and kept on kissing. She kissed his lips, his cheeks, and any place she could reach with her lips and back to his again.
“I love you too, with all my heart,” she replied. “‘My darling husband.”
Then she wrapped her arms around him again and kissed him again, starved for kisses from their night apart. Her tears seemed silly now, now that they were standing at the altar, blissfully in love, happier than she had ever felt in her life. One night apart and now they had forever - and forever began right now.
“You look so handsome and so perfect,” she said softly. “The navy blue brings out your eyes, my love.” She ran her hands down his front and pulled him in by the collar for another kiss. “Now I can’t stop kissing you. I missed you.”
The ceremony wasn’t completely over, and they still had a blessing and papers to sign with witnesses - she had chosen her mother and Mr. Jarvis - but for right now she just wanted to enjoy this first moment as husband and wife.

14th February, St Valentines day, the day for lovers, young and old, chocolate and roses and cheesy cards. Reputed to have begun in ancient Rome around 496AD with the festival of Lupercalia held in mid February. Girls and boys drew names from a box and would become girlfriend and boyfriend for the duration of the festival. Of course the church hijacked it later on, and used it to celebrate St Valentine. A Roman Priest executed for refusing to deny Christ and associated with courtly love. Being UK based we usually think of a dozen red roses and chocolates or champagne. Along with a card extolling our feelings of love. But how do other countries celebrate it? Japan Being Japanese, they tend to complicate it as usual. On the 14th girls give chocolates. However they do this in two ways. The first is called giri-choco and are pre made chocolates. These will be given to friends, family, perhaps work colleagues. Men they don't love romantically. The second type are Honmei-choco, being either more expensive, or traditionally hand made by the girl. Given to their partners, boyfriends, lovers etc. Traditionally men would only accept these from girl they were interested in. On 14th March the menfolk would return the gesture three fold on what is called white day. South Korea The south Koreans, follow pretty much the same pattern as the Japanese. However, on the month after white day, they have an additional celebration called Black day. This is for all those unfortunate enough not to have received gifts on the other days. They get together and eat black noodles. Philippines The Filipino's celebrate in much the same ways as in the West. However, there is also an added incentive for lovers on the 14th. Many municipalities provide free weddings on the day. The cakes, flowers, venue, banquet and even the rings are all provided free of charge. This leads to mass weddings around the country on St Valentines day. Norway Or Valentinsdag in Norwegian. Much like the UK, with meals, roses, lingerie and so on. They do have one old belief that birds mated on this day to bear their offspring. And it's now believed that seeing birds mate is a sign of true love. TBH I don't think I have ever seen birds mating. In fact I am not sure I would recognise what they were doing if I did, assuming the tradition refers to the feathered kind. Sweden Alla hjärtans dag, or All Hearts Day as our Swedish cousins refer to it. They prefer jellied candies and pastries to our traditional chocolates. It has only been an occasion in Sweden since the 60's, so it isn't as widely celebrated as in other countries. Denmark Our Danish friends have a tradition called Gækkebreve , or Snowdrop letter. They send the object of the affection a letter, but sign it with a series of dots for their name. The receiver must try and work out who it is from, and if they get it correct are rewarded with an Easter egg on Easter Sunday. France Hmm, an unusual custom and not exactly the height of chivalry. French singletons would call out to each other across the street to be paired up. But if the mane didn't quite fancy the woman he was allowed to reject her and try again. The sadly outed woman would gather together to burn photos and other reminders of the suitors who had given them the thumbs down, as a sort of group 'therapy'. Eventually the government banned the practise. No doubt some woman felt better burning the real item rather than the photo. This early form of speed dating was christened "une loterie d’amour", the lottery of love. Wales The Welsh evidentially, don't traditionally go in for St Valentine. Their nearest version is Saint Dwynwen's day on 25th January. Here the men present a gift of a wooden spoon to their love interest. Various symbols and patterns with special meanings were carved into the spoon. A strange custom when presenting a wooden spoon elsewhere usually has negative connotations. Argentina Those randy Latinos can't manage with just the one day. They drag it out a whole week, starting on 13th and running to the 20th, sweetness week encourages the swapping of kisses for candy. The week ends with friendship day so no one is left out. South Africa The Springboks mirror the UK with a lot of the Valentine celebrations. However they do also follow in the footsteps of the original Roman celebration by pinning the names of their lovers on to their sleeves. Luckily they don't follow the original rules to closely, as the Romans would sacrifice goats, then run through the streets naked, whipping the women folk to increase their fertility. Most of the countries around the world have adopted the Western celebration of St Valentines day, with flower giving, chocolate and other gifts. Some Islamic countries are rather hostile to the holiday, and some outright ban it. If you want a Valentine treat for your staff, a party or even as a private service for your loved one, many of our treats such as Churros, Valentine crepes, doughnuts can be made with a pink dough to suit the occasion, or we can supply melted pink chocolate as a topping.
