There’s even what looks like a selector switch under the cylinder, but then you have what looks like a hinge under the barrel.

But then he loads the cartridges like it’s a gateloader, all in all one frankenstein of a gun.

rewatching hbomberguy’s Pathologic video and i’m 100% convinced that the revolver weapon is a reference to Zardoz

it’s clearly a Webley-Fosbery, and that film’s theme of artificiality and the Brutals’ lives being nothing more than a game played by incredibly-bored immortals ties in well with Pathologic’s hatred of the fourth wall.

Webley-Fosberys even came in .455 Webley or .38 ACP versions, the latter of which held 8 shots in the cylinder. And they had speed-loaders made for them!

Meanwhile the Mateba is just classic wacky cyberpunk revolver. Not even the Rhino, which has kind of started to replace the Mateba as "that sci-fi revolver everyone rips off", is quite as cool.

Of course if some demented gunsmith wanted to make an automatic version of the Rhino, I think we'd really have a worthy opponent there.
