Today was a journey. It was a great day but the preparation for a meeting was so intense, I was up at 4:30am trying to memorize my notes, The complication is that the slides we planned to show are part of a master plan of record document that MUST stay pristine because a lot of people around the world access it and use it for their work, so I ended up downloading it, creating a separate deck of just the slides I planned to use in the meeting and sending to my boss for review. She didn’t have any feedback yesterday which was surprising because she’s quite focused on the way information is presented (which is a thing in my company and it’s more than visuals, it’s making sure your thinking is really clean, so the slides are simple). But hey, good!
I got up at 5am to practice my notes because I had to be in the room and not on webex where I get to read my notes. It was a good start but I needed more, so blocked time prior to the meeting, only to find when I arrived in the office, she’d requested a huge amount of changes in the deck. They were good changes, they always are, but I panicked a bit.
It all worked out, there was a lively discussion but I articulated myself well and my employee just dubbed the process we used - creating a separate deck for her to edit and change and mark up - “Creed’s blog”. I laughed until I choked.

State of the UC Union
Unified Communication and Collaboration (UC&C) is a combination of various communication methods and collaboration tools such as virtual whiteboards, real-time audio and video conferencing and enhanced call control capabilities to improve efficiency in the workplace. It provides a collection of easy-to-use solutions that can be implemented in various organizations to ensure that the end user receives a nearly real-time collaboration experience that works efficiently, smoothly and securely.
Video collaboration has been evolved from hardware-based codecs of traditional Polycom and Cisco Systems to more software driven solution of Microsoft Teams, Zooms, Google Meets, WebEx, post the pandemic. A lot of the solutions have now been replaced with simpler easier to deploy solutions for small meeting rooms, mid-size meeting rooms as well as larger boardrooms, meeting rooms, training rooms and large venue spaces such as Auditoriums and event spaces. However, the challenges of designing, executing and implementing the technologies and the user experience still remain. The intend of this whitepaper is to ensuring the reader to make the right decision based on today’s available technology. Video conferencing has become an increasingly important aspect of today’s world, as many organizations are transitioning to hybrid working environments. It has greatly aided in connecting people over a phone call where people can experience real-time video conferencing features while being located in different remote locations which would not be possible with Video conferencing platforms.
Tumblr media
Types of Video Conferencing:
Telepresence Video Conferencing System
Integrated Video Conferencing System
Desktop Video Conferencing System
Video Collaboration Platforms:
Zooms
Microsoft Teams
Google Meets
Cisco
WebEX
What are Native and Non- Native Solutions. Why is it important in a Video Collaboration system?
Video conferencing is a live audio-visual connection between two or more remote parties over the internet that simulates a face-to-face meeting in real-time. In the business world, desktop video conferencing is a core component of Unified communications platforms that also include calling and messaging capabilities. Standalone on-premises and cloud-based video conferencing platforms are also available from numerous vendors who support desktop and room-based Video conferencing solutions with the ability to embed them into business applications, such as Telehealth, customer service and distance learning, etc.
The Primary difference between a Native and a Non-Native system is the user experience. Post Work from home and Back to office systems imply that the end users wants a user interface (IPAD, OEM’s touch panel, etc..) to have the same familiar look and feel that they are dialing/ joining directly from their laptop. Native user experiences also allow for a seamless connection to users within the enterprises in terms of a active directory integration as well. These native integrations have to be certified by the certified solution provides (Microsoft Team, Zooms, etc…) as a part of being through the ecosystem.
Though more expensive, native systems offer a more seamless experience to the management. Non-Native systems can be simply a Video collaboration bar in a room with a PC behind the display, essentially the PC is a desktop/ user laptop that allow content sharing as well as dialing/joining into the enterprise (As the main UC Engine). Non-native applications are easy to deploy, lower cost to maintenance as well.
Differences between Native and Non-Native Solutions
Hard Codec Running Native UC Platform Modes UC hardware often runs in “Native Mode,” meaning that the built-in Windows/Mac or Android computer is running a single UC Platform application such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. The system is “locked in” to that platform. This is a great option if your business is already using a soft client version on employees’ laptops, as you essentially just extend this experience to the meeting room. Employees can then make a Zoom call from their laptops, or a Zoom call from a conference room’s dedicated “Native” platform. They are already familiar with the UI and so the transition to a hardware version feels seamless.
Soft codec Running Native UC Platform Modes
Soft codec systems are more commonly known as cloud or web-based video conferencing software. They’re “soft” as they don’t need codec hardware to work, and “codec” refers to devices or programs that compress and decompress data. It just needs a USB peripheral device such as USB camera, USB microphone and thin client PC in which all the software platforms can be loaded and they can initiate the call using wireless keyboard and mouse.
Unified Communication & Collaboration Tools for Native Interface
Zoom Rooms Zoom Rooms, the Modern Hybrid workspaces for Teams, brings HD video collaboration into any space – in the office, the classroom, or at home – and allows in[1]person and remote participants to interact in real-time. The Phoenix Microphone is created with the vision of a clutter free conference table, the Condor sits above or below your monitor and with a pick-up range of up to 30 ft almost any conference room can use the Condor.
Conclusion
Enterprises today face a range of options, and we feel the top five takeaways are as follows:
Understand your vision for the Unified Collaboration rollout for your enterprise well in advance. (Spend time planning.)
Do trial runs with different manufacturers and end users to understand what works and what doesn’t across a range of budgets.
Deploy in small batches.
Understand the long-term value of the system as well as the compatibility with other systems that may come along the way that we may feel are going to be more software-driven.
Collect and analyze data around usage patterns using room schedulers, sensors on clouds, and analytics platforms to assist in improving the user experience as well as assisting with remote asset management and remote deployments.

12/13/24 (4:08p)
today was clinical from home. it was actually really nice. i got to stay in my little comfy room & i only had to check in via webex at certain times throughout the day. i even got to watch a movie for class. it was pretty interesting. it portrayed someone having schizophrenia and i actually weirdly enjoyed the movie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
today was a strange reflection day for me. i felt a lot of emotions from sadness, the feeling of being content, feelings of disgust, along with feelings of anger + lots of anxiety. i’m pretty sure the anxiety is stemming from the fact my final exam is on monday.
i received another gift today! i opened both at the same time after i turned in my clinical assignment for the day. i got a pink garbage can, which i actually giggled when i opened it. as small as it looks. it holds a lot more room then my old one did. i also love how it looks on my room! i also received a new desk for when im laying in bed. im excited to use it moving forward when i study and all the fun stuff. it also even has a cup holder!!
i also learned today that people will show you time & time again who they are, to listen. accept it. & overall just move in silence after that. i’ve been having a hard time accepting things for what is recently.
i’ve also been having really weird dreams. i know dreams are ways of subconsciously dealing with things but like .. no thank you :,(
i’ve also uncovered a new fear about myself. i think a part of me is terrified that i’ll never be once loved the way i once was. i feel that part of me is undeserving, but yet again it’s a constant battle in my head of ‘i’m a good person’ and ‘i’ll never be the dream girl’.
i know i’m someone’s dream. it’s just a matter of fixing my self esteem issues. one day at a time & one step at a time.
a step is a step. i don’t care if im crawling. im moving forward somehow .. right?

High-Quality Video and Audio Microsoft Teams delivers crystal-clear video and audio during meetings, enabling participants to focus on discussions without technical distractions. This is particularly important for virtual brainstorming sessions and team meetings where clear communication is key.
Integration with Office 365 Teams seamlessly integrates with other Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This allows users to collaborate on documents in real-time, directly within the meeting interface, reducing the need for multiple platforms.
Customizable Features From breakout rooms for small group discussions to live captions for accessibility, Teams provides customizable features to suit various needs. These enhancements ensure inclusivity and improve engagement during meetings.
Exploring Live Video Streaming Services
In addition to traditional conferencing, organizations are increasingly relying on live video streaming services to reach larger audiences. Platforms like Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams enable businesses to host webinars, live product launches, and training sessions, catering to thousands of participants at once.
Live streaming services bridge geographical gaps, making it easier for companies to engage with employees, clients, or stakeholders worldwide. Key benefits of these services include:
Scalability: Accommodate large audiences without compromising on video quality.
Interactive Features: Q&A sessions, live polls, and chat functions keep audiences engaged.
Recording Capabilities: Save and share sessions for future reference or for those unable to attend live.
For smaller-scale events or collaborative purposes, platforms like Microsoft Teams double as an effective tool for sharing video with audio on Teams during meetings or presentations.
Sharing Video With Audio on Teams
One of the standout features of Teams is its ability to seamlessly share videos with audio during virtual meetings. This functionality is particularly useful for educators, trainers, or presenters who want to incorporate multimedia into their sessions.
To share video with audio on Teams:
Open your Teams meeting and select the "Share Screen" button.
Choose the screen or window displaying your video.
Toggle the "Include Computer Sound" option to ensure participants can hear the video’s audio clearly.
This simple yet powerful feature allows you to deliver impactful presentations, share promotional videos, or conduct engaging training sessions without any technical hiccups.
Choosing the Best Solution for Your Needs
The decision to select the best video conferencing system depends on the specific requirements of your organization. While platforms like Zoom and Webex have their strengths, Microsoft Teams offers a comprehensive package that caters to diverse needs—from small team meetings to enterprise-level live streaming events.
Whether you are looking for a solution for casual team collaboration or large-scale webinars, Teams provides the tools you need to succeed. Its ability to integrate with live video streaming services and seamlessly handle video and audio sharing makes it a versatile choice for businesses of all sizes.

Cybersecurity in Corporate Meetings: Safeguarding Your Organization’s Secrets
Tumblr media
In the digital age, corporate meetings are vital for strategizing, decision-making, and sharing sensitive information. With increasing reliance on digital platforms, ensuring cybersecurity in corporate meetings has become crucial to protecting an organization's data and reputation. From video conferencing to shared digital workspaces, every communication channel is a potential target for cyber threats.
This article explores the importance of cybersecurity in corporate meetings, common vulnerabilities, and actionable strategies to safeguard your business from cyberattacks.
Why Cybersecurity in Corporate Meetings is Critical
Protecting Sensitive Information
Corporate meetings often involve discussions about proprietary information, financial plans, or client details. A breach during these sessions can lead to the theft of trade secrets, reputational damage, and financial losses.
Increasing Dependence on Digital Tools
The rise of remote and hybrid work models has popularized video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. While these tools boost productivity, they are not immune to cyberattacks such as eavesdropping and unauthorized access.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Failure to secure corporate meetings can lead to violations of data protection laws, such as GDPR or HIPAA, resulting in hefty fines and legal consequences.
Common Cybersecurity Risks in Corporate Meetings
1. Unauthorized Access
Unprotected meeting links or weak passwords can allow unauthorized participants to infiltrate corporate meetings, potentially leading to data theft or disruptions.
2. Phishing Attacks
Employees may inadvertently share sensitive meeting credentials with hackers disguised as legitimate participants through phishing emails.
3. Data Leakage
Recordings, screenshots, or chat logs from meetings can be misused if not properly managed or stored.
4. Software Vulnerabilities
Exploiting unpatched vulnerabilities in conferencing software can give hackers unauthorized access to meetings or user data.
5. Insider Threats
Internal employees with malicious intent or negligence can leak sensitive information discussed during corporate meetings.
Strategies to Enhance Cybersecurity in Corporate Meetings
1. Use Secure Meeting Platforms
Choose platforms with robust encryption protocols like end-to-end encryption (E2EE). Platforms like Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams offer advanced security settings to safeguard virtual meetings.
2. Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Adding an extra layer of authentication ensures that only authorized personnel can access meeting platforms.
3. Set Up Password-Protected Meetings
Always require participants to enter a strong, unique password to join the meeting. Avoid sharing these passwords over insecure communication channels.
4. Monitor and Control Participants
Use waiting rooms to verify participants before granting access.
Disable screen sharing for unauthorized attendees.
Restrict file sharing during meetings unless necessary.
5. Regularly Update Software
Ensure all meeting tools and devices are updated with the latest security patches to address known vulnerabilities.
6. Encrypt Meeting Data
Encryption secures data in transit, making it unreadable to unauthorized entities. Ensure both audio and video streams are encrypted during corporate meetings.
7. Provide Cybersecurity Training
Educate employees about identifying phishing attempts, setting strong passwords, and following meeting security protocols.
8. Secure Meeting Endpoints
Ensure devices used for corporate meetings, such as laptops, tablets, or smartphones, are protected with antivirus software and firewalls.
9. Review and Control Recordings
Limit access to meeting recordings to authorized personnel and store them in encrypted formats. Regularly review and delete outdated recordings to minimize risks.
10. Collaborate with IT Teams
Work with IT professionals to conduct regular cybersecurity audits of meeting platforms and protocols.
Real-World Examples of Cybersecurity Breaches in Meetings
Zoom Bombing Incidents (2020)During the COVID-19 pandemic, several unprotected Zoom meetings were infiltrated by unauthorized users who disrupted proceedings. This led to businesses re-evaluating their meeting security protocols.
Confidential Data Leak from a Video ConferenceIn 2022, a multinational corporation faced reputational damage after a hacker accessed an unprotected virtual boardroom meeting and leaked sensitive business strategies online.
Benefits of Cybersecurity in Corporate Meetings
1. Protects Confidential Data
Secure meetings ensure that sensitive discussions and data remain private.
2. Builds Stakeholder Trust
Implementing robust cybersecurity measures enhances client and stakeholder confidence in your organization's ability to safeguard their information.
3. Avoids Financial Losses
Preventing data breaches reduces the risk of financial penalties and revenue loss.
4. Ensures Business Continuity
Cyberattacks can disrupt meetings and operations. Proactive security measures maintain productivity and minimize downtime.
Future Trends in Meeting Cybersecurity
1. AI-Powered Threat Detection
Artificial intelligence (AI) is being increasingly adopted to identify suspicious activities during virtual meetings, such as unauthorized logins or data anomalies.
2. Biometric Authentication
Future meeting platforms may use facial recognition or fingerprint scans to verify participants.
3. Blockchain Technology
Blockchain can enhance meeting security by ensuring transparent and tamper-proof data sharing.
Conclusion
Cybersecurity in corporate meetings is not just a technical necessity; it is a strategic imperative. By implementing the right tools and practices, businesses can protect sensitive information, comply with legal requirements, and build trust with stakeholders.
Investing in cybersecurity for corporate meetings is a small price to pay compared to the potential damage caused by cyberattacks. Start by evaluating your current meeting security measures, educating your team, and adopting secure platforms to safeguard your organization's future.

Waaah!!! My bff is coming to visit me next weekend and I’m so excited!!!
°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
I haven’t seen her since my birthday back in March when we went and did a Clue themed escape room.
She was originally gonna be in town for another reason that one got cancelled, but she’s still coming to see me and it means a lot! We only live about 2.5 hours apart, but it’s hard to find time to meet up. She’s always crazy busy, so I try to not to add to her overwhelm.
I’M SO EXCITED!!! Gonna take her to this killer coffee shop and maybe see if I can find some local karaoke.
Lol she said we could watch some of the movies we’ve been meaning to but let’s be real. We always end up talking nonstop when we’re together so the number of movies we’ll get through is…probably not many, haha.
Hoping to get to visit her later this year to maybe see Clue the Musical (sensing a theme?). And to see her sweet little baby kitty who almost tolerates me!!!
It’d be nice to revisit the area too. I’ve only been living back in my hometown for a year now, after living there for a decade. I prefer that area but wanted to move closer to home for a variety of reasons. It’s tough sometimes. Putting down new roots is hard. Especially for a veritable hermit like me who abhors change in any form.
That also reminds me I’m gonna have to travel for work in June and I don’t wanna.
(;﹏;) It’ll be fine. It’s just for a few days, but I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Gonna have to fly there on a Monday morning and won’t be back home until late Wednesday. It is gonna be wildly busy too. It’s the first time our all remote team will be meeting in person with just our team. I’ve only seen them all in person once before when we had Summit in NOLA last year, but that included our entire business unit.
We were told we’ll probably do Summit with the whole business unit every two years, so that’ll be coming up again next year too.
I just find it wildly exhausting to have to be “on” for other people. Haven’t figured out if it’s an ADHD masking thing or not. Just constantly in my own head like “make eye contact, stop fidgeting, pre-plan topics of conversation, make sure you look interested and engaged, what can you contribute to this conversation” etc. Then retreating to my hotel room to lick my “being social” wounds and inevitably being a shell of a human for 1-2 days after I get back home.
Now that I have the privilege to work from home and have since March 2020, my social battery is almost nonexistent. I’m also hyperaware of how I am around other people, likely because I’m physically around other people so rarely. Partly by choice and partly because of lacking said social battery.
I’m also constantly talking to other people at work, even though I’m remote. Email, Slack, phone, WebEx. My job is super demanding which is good because it keeps me engaged but bad because it tends to wipe me out. I’m much happier than I was when I was stuck in sales *shudders* but when I’m working now, I need to be as close to 100% attention as possible. My executive function is always in shambles by the end of the day.
Hopefully work easing up over the next few months will help.
While I’m a fast worker, having to maintain ALL of my focus for hours at a time is so fucking hard. But the alternative is being fucking miserable at work. And we all know how much our lives in the US revolve around our work!
Gonna be working with my therapist too on better handling demands like this. I am desperate for a routine but when so much of my executive function is devoted to my job, it’s nigh impossible for me to dole it out elsewhere.
And also being more ~self-compassionate~.
(;¬_¬)
Why is self-compassion so hard???
Because you have OCD and ADHD, you ninny. And you live in a capitalistic hellscape.

How to Start a Meeting in Google Meet and Manage Teams Account for Conference Rooms
In today’s world of hybrid work and digital connectivity, holding meetings online has become the norm. Google Meet and Microsoft Teams have emerged as leading tools for video conferencing, each offering unique benefits. However, mastering these tools and managing the infrastructure to support them can present challenges for IT teams. This article will dive into the process of starting a meeting in Google Meet, managing a Teams account for a conference room, and overcoming IT infrastructure management challenges while exploring the best video conferencing system for your business.
Starting a Meeting in Google Meet
Google Meet is designed for simplicity and efficiency, making it easy for teams to connect remotely. To Start a Meeting in Google Meet, you need to sign in to your Google account and navigate to Google Meet. Once there, you can either schedule a meeting in advance via Google Calendar or start one on the spot by clicking the "New meeting" button. You’ll be given options such as creating a meeting for later, starting an instant meeting, or scheduling one in Google Calendar.
One of the key benefits of Google Meet is its integration with other Google services like Gmail and Google Calendar. This makes it simple to invite participants, share meeting details, and manage the event. Additionally, Google Meet offers robust security measures, ensuring that your virtual meetings are safe from external threats.
Managing Teams Account for Conference Rooms
When using Microsoft Teams, creating a specialized account for conference rooms ensures that each room has its own identity and settings, which helps streamline meeting scheduling and management. To set this up, you'll need to create a Teams Room license and assign it to a specific conference room account. This allows the room to have its own unique login, making it easy for employees to book and utilize the room through Teams Account for Conference Room.
This approach also integrates with your organization's Outlook calendar, making room availability visible when scheduling meetings. Ensuring that each room has the correct equipment and settings allows for a seamless experience. However, challenges may arise with maintaining the conference room system, which requires proper support from IT teams. Whether you are dealing with network connectivity or troubleshooting hardware issues, staying ahead of potential problems is essential.
Challenges in IT Infrastructure Management
Managing IT infrastructure is a constant challenge for organizations, especially when handling video conferencing systems. The rapid evolution of technology, paired with the growing complexity of networks and devices, can overwhelm even the most seasoned IT teams. Common issues include bandwidth limitations, inconsistent network performance, and security vulnerabilities. Additionally, maintaining a stable connection during video conferencing sessions can be difficult when relying on outdated hardware or poorly optimized software.
Addressing these Challenges in It Infrastructure Management requires a proactive approach. Regular monitoring of network traffic and performance can help identify bottlenecks before they impact meetings. IT teams must also ensure that all video conferencing equipment, from cameras to microphones, is properly maintained and updated to avoid interruptions during important meetings.
Best Video Conferencing System Transformation
With so many options available, choosing the best video conferencing system for your organization can be challenging. Beyond Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, many other systems like Zoom and Cisco Webex are widely used. However, the best choice for your business depends on your specific needs. Look for systems that offer high-quality video and audio, easy integration with existing IT infrastructure, and robust security features.
To support a smooth transformation, IT teams should focus on scalability and flexibility. Ensure that the chosen system can adapt to future needs, whether that involves integrating with new tools or supporting more users as your business grows. Scalability is particularly important in conference rooms, where managing multiple accounts and ensuring that each room functions correctly is crucial for maintaining productivity.
Selecting the right video conferencing system and managing your IT infrastructure effectively ensures that your organization can continue to collaborate and communicate, no matter where employees are located.

Just last week, I applied to a job at a company that makes that automation software. I was overqualified, but they hadn't listed a salary, so I applied anyway. I got an email to schedule a screening call literally an hour later.
Scheduled it for later in the week. The email had no human contact, just a name of the interviewer. Video screening call, which was unusual, but hey, you jump through a few hoops.
Assuming the interviewer shows up, of course. I waited for 15 minutes in the WebEx room for the person to show, and gave up. The automated system gave me the option to cancel or reschedule, and I should have cancelled. Instead, I reached out via LinkedIn to the name I had, slightly terse, and told them I had waited.
Apparently the bot scheduled the screening call for while they were on vacation.
I did go to the call. It was decent practice, but I'm honestly more worried that they'll come back for another round of interviews, because I'm not sure I want to work on that software...
Anyway, I also have a pet theory that it was a ghost job to help them train their AI algorithm. Which, yeah, ain't there yet, champs.
Did you know that companies post “Ghost Jobs” for people to apply to?
They do this so they can look like they are growing and thriving to both investors, current employees, and the industry at large.
The “Ghost Job” postings aren’t real and a good chunk of most job postings these days are not actually real listings at all.
Fun right?
