A little comic about relationship between web!Martin and eye!Jon. In this world they both became avatars of their respective fears. Martin lost all of his human morality and emotions in the process. He wants to get closer to Jon precisely to keep pupil of the eye in check. And Jon knows all of that.

But he also knows Martin from before. Before fears and web connection. He knows what kind of person he was. And web tells him that there was once possibility for it all (this feelings, this love) to be real. Maybe in another world it is...

So, in regards to missed opportunities:

Web Martin would have been such a killer opportunity, but I think it would have murdered the show. While yes, Annabelle mentioned the fact that Martin was quite keen towards the Web as is, it would have destroyed whatever trust Jon would have had, that he would have needed in later seasons to keep going, which likely would have either made him go off the deep end and go full monster, or alternatively just straight choose to die during his coma

I’m not sure I have anything productive to add to this conversation. I have never been particularly for or against Web!Martin so I’m not sure my opinion would do much in the way of… well, anything.

I do appreciate you sharing this anon! I know that other people will have thoughts on this, and I can’t wait to see what discussions there are to be had!

I just want Martin becoming such a powerful web avatar on par if not stronger than archive Jon all because he was kind to spiders

The Dark is one of the least explored of the Fears, so I have been having a hard time figuring out what I want to do with Jon but I think I have it.

He doesn’t know much of anything that is going on in this dimension. The Dark can’t interact with the Light—the Light being the Eye.

So he doesn’t know what the Eye knows. His knowledge is otherworldly and other-dimensional.

[Am I using that to write archivist!Web!Martin and Hunt!Jon from another dimension? Yes. Am I also going to use it to explore other AU’s? Yes.]

OKAY WAIT ACTUALLY time travel reset au web Martin. He knows everything And gets touched by the web and just. Manipulates Elias into being head archivist. Elias is like haha yes schemes and Jon is just relieved he isn’t archivist this time around. Cue shenanigans of the highest order.

(Secondarily, martin being archivist keeps eliases eyes away from avatar jon. A win win scenario I think.)

I wanted to know if you had any web!martin headcanons? especially design wise?

Web Martin

- his hair would be fully white and slicked back, cause have web intermixed with hair.

- would play up the soft innocent look.

- he would knit, crochet, and/or do lace work.

- his eyes darked to almost a brownish black color.
