I stumbled across Welcome to Night Vale as I'm working on a friend's project, and I'd like to ask what the podcast was like for you
WTNV is fun but the early part is completely different from the later part.
The early part is really fun for me to listen to cause it's full of bizzare and interesting and unexplained stuff, which are treated as mudane facts by the characters. This is what got me really into it.
There are plot but very little so I don't need to worry about missing out on stuff. (This is also why I can't get into Hello from the Hallowoods. Too much relevant stuff happening.)
But as the podcast develops, it can't rely on just random fun ideas anymore and have to develop the characters and the world. At this point it's bascially completely different in terms of flavor. As the details fill out, I just lost interest. I mean maybe a lot of people like it, it's just not what I'm after personally.
