Finally a post from Tumblr about this
Listen up everyone because if you don’t know this specific area of the Midwest where the tornadoes hit the other day is my home turf. From Edwardsville, IL to Mayfield, KY is a large area of land, about a three to four hour drive by car. There are some big cities in this mass but the amount of small towns and middle of nowheres is huge.
On that Friday morning at work we were told by our HSE dude that it was gonna get nasty that night and be prepared to possibly shelter in place. Meteorologists knew these storms were coming.
There is no excuse for the inhumane loss of life at the candle factory and at Amazon.
The largest weather broadcasting services out of Evansville, IN were on the air for 7+ hours tracking this storm. I woke up around 1 am to see the tornado in the midst of destroying Bremen, KY. I was very lucky and everything dodged me. But not so much for others. They also were operating while the National Weather Service operating out of Paducah, KY was down.
The weathermen said that the area where these tornadoes were going to hit was very accurate. And after the dust settles they expected there to be causalities due to acts of god and situations that could not be avoided because every single failsafe failed, but I think they were hopefully expecting a handful, maybe 10-20 at most, OVERALL. But we are entering into over a 100 dead and many people missing.
Tornadoes such as these are no stranger to Western Kentucky and people have lost their lives over them, but it was rare that a large number had been lost But and mostly it was due to a warning that came far too late. Tornadoes can sometimes come out of nowhere and been gone as soon as they came.
But this time, the warning was given way beforehand, yet it was ignored.
Blood is on corpo hands this time around and that will be the truth until an investigation is opened on these two companies of what happened because it is led to believe that no shelter in places were observed at either facility. I really do hope OSHA gets involved in on this mess because this was not an accident, this was serial murder or mass manslaughter.
Because if these people had sheltered in place and an act of god caused them to die, all of the bodies could have been easily found with using a map of the facility to point out where the tornado shelter(s) roughly were and the bodies could have easily been found in clumps, but people are missing meaning they possibly dispersed around the facility and possibly picked up by the tornado and thrown many miles away.
And there is my tea on the whole situation because this is close to home for me.
