Hello, Hana Hyperfixates here! I’m a YouTuber with videos focusing mainly on Gravity Falls and fandom culture. But I’m also a Palestinian person who has been heartbroken watching the violence unfold in Gaza. So far more than 40,000 people have been killed, and countless more have been injured, starved, displaced and oppressed under the threat of genocide.

I want to do something about it, and if this fandom is what I know it to be, I’m sure others do, too. 

The Gravity Falls fandom has had no shortage of wonderful, generous efforts to extend aid to various charities and to those in need. Through my ten years in this fandom I’ve seen calendars and zines and similar projects be sold, with hundreds of dollars being raised.

So I am happy to announce a new fundraising effort: Mystery Twin Mystery Bags. 

The idea: bring in artists from across the fandom to design pins, stickers, charms, posters and more. These items would be pre-ordered, purchased, randomly assorted into mystery bags and shipped out to fans like you!  Options would exist at differently-priced tiers, for you to buy anything from a handful of random stickers, to a big box of everything, and the funds would all go to a great cause!

After shipping out items, 100% of the profits for this project would be split 50/50 between these two funds for aid and relief in Gaza.

As the situation in the Gaza is ever-evolving and needs change, we might add other charities onto this roster. We will be transparent if this ever happens. The most important thing is getting the money where it is needed the most.

We need artists and graphic designers with a wide range: Remember, the plan is to make everything from stickers to posters!

Before you apply, I also want to make something clear: Our ability to extend compassion and aid to Palestinian refugees is not at all at odds with our commitment against antisemitism. We condemn any antisemitic rhetoric in our space, in our replies, in our askbox and (once established) in our Discord, and that rhetoric is not welcome here. 

Our condemnation of the horrific actions of the government of Israel does NOT mean that we can’t protect and stand with our Jewish friends and community members. Likewise, us standing against antisemitism does not mean we can’t extend empathy and funding to the refugees of Palestine. People are dying, to help them is to be human.

oh yknow what wouldve been a way to make season 7 way more interesting? If Kai and Nya got split up between timelines. Like, season 7 has a lot to with the aftermath of the Serpentine War and the Elemental Alliance, right? So what if one of the siblings got yoinked into the past and had to fight alongside the original EMs? So maybe Kai ends up 40 years in the past due to Time Blade/time travel shenanigans, and the plot becomes about him and Nya trying to find their way back to each other. Kai is helping the EMs, getting to know his parents, trying and failing to prevent a bajillion horrible things that are going to happen in the coming years (maybe he even inadvertently causes a few of them, just for angst reasons), and trying to figure out how to get back to Nya. This would also give us some opportunity to learn more about the Elemental Alliance, maybe we see glimpses of Morro before he died, maybe some hints into what happened to Jay's birth-mother, Kai meets Lilly, and heck just for funsies maybe we get a bit of backstory regarding the previous Ice EM.

Meanwhile Nya is in the present, struggling to get him home, defeat the Time Twins, and rescue her long-lost parents. She also gets some angst bc she doesn't know her parents very well and as we've seen from Seabound she doesn't exactly get along with them, and she's trying to make it work because Kai is depending on her. And maybe in her efforts to save Kai we get a closer look at their relationship from her perspective, and see just how much she cares about him. So the season as a whole would kinda follow the ns9 model of dual plotlines, one following Kai in the past as he goes up against the Past Time Twins, and another timeline following Nya in the present as she and the ninja go up against the Present Time Twins. AND we can get some bonus content of Wu steadily realizing who the mysterious red stranger was from 40 years ago, and we can get some development for Wu and Kai's relationship - which would make it much more impactful when Wu throws Kai and Nya out of the Iron Doom and gets lost in the time stream in order to save them. We saw Past Wu interact and bond with Kai, and we see Present Wu interact and bond with Nya, so it will feel more meaningful when he sacrifices his safety to get them back to their proper time.

Alright so confession. I have never read or seen JoJo. So my question about DiaDop is WHAT IS GOING ON? I thought they were coworkers but I see posts that imply they're sharing a body? but sometimes not? Is it a Yugi and Atem situation? Is one of them a Stand? are they a fusion? are they one guy who got split in half? I am so confused and intrigued and it's funnier to just ask than to find a fandom wiki about it

uh spoilers until the end of jojo part 5, since diavolo and doppio are The final villain of that arc, but

uh, to answer the questions: "Is it a Yugi and Atem situation? Is one of them a Stand? are they a fusion? are they one guy who got split in half?" ... yes. (to which one? yeah.)

IT'S A LITTLE FUZZY ON PURPOSE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LOT OF MYSTERY AROUND THEIR ORIGIN & BACKSTORY but we can essentially presume it's either a Yugi and Atem situation, or they're a case of DID in which alters not only have unique speech patterns & identities but like. entire... appearances.... we watch doppio grow a foot taller and extremely more muscular when Diavolo fronts.... it's.... Interesting.... there are actually a good variety of headcanons on what exactly Doppio and Diavolo's deal is

(I personally jump between 'two souls in one body', 'actual dissociative identity disorder', 'Diavolo is actually the stand King Crimson who has developed his own human identity', or 'they were originally twins and one absorbed the other in utero but they still retained individuality' which are all equally viable). either way, 1.) they share the same body. 2.) eventually, a stand with the ability to swap around souls into other people's bodies hits them and sends them to separate places, 3.) they have different fates at the end of the series; one is defeated by the protagonist and the other never even makes it to the final battle.

Oh also! In addition to all of the above, Doppio does not know that he shares a body with Diavolo! He fully believes Diavolo is his boss, who exclusively contacts him via phone, and Diavolo hides his identity from even his flesh roommate. Doppio thinks of Diavolo as his boss, and believes Diavolo is calling him on the phone. And if he doesn't have a phone, any relatively phone-sized item in the area will do (while he walks around making a phone ringing noise.) we've seen him talk to diavolo through a frog, a cigarette, an ice cream cone, and a plastic fisher price toy phone

Yoooo I've given this some thought too! I hope we get to see more of what the rumors can do. I feel like Tsukasa is very likely planning something BIG.

I've kind of got this running theory in my head where Tsukasa, while alive, was sick or had a shortened lifespan like Nene and was able to see the school mysteries. So, maybe the whole murder situation was started by a wish that his brother wouldn't leave him behind or that they could be together forever since Tsukasa wouldn't be able to follow Amane to the moon. We've seen how a wish can be twisted and turned into something terrible...

I also wonder if at some point the twins were both part of school mystery number 7 together. Maybe they even shared the same body? There's some art for the manga and the show that has Hanako shown alongside the sun and Tsukasa with the moon. Now, there could be just some symbolism in there or maybe school mystery number 7 was Hanako during the day and Tsukasa during the night (I know, we're getting crazy here.) When the two were sealed by Kou's grandma, I wonder if they were split, which would explain them both having a seal on their cheek. The scarier part of school mystery number 7 (Tsukasa) was sealed away, which could explain why he can't initially go wherever he pleases and knows some ways of getting stronger Hanako wouldn't agree with. Maybe Tsukasa is also able to do more after he made a contract of sorts with a "human."

You have to admit, it would be pretty messed up if the twins were together forever in a way, but essentially never saw each other because one was awake during the day and the other during the night. It would explain why Hanako was so surprised to see Tsukasa too. Isn't the gemini constellation, which is referenced in the art, about a man who finds his brother dying and decides to share eternity with him? I know there's more to it and I haven't actually looked it up recently, but ughhh.

Tsukasa says he and Amane are complete opposites. Hanako obviously has to abide by some rules, maybe that means Tsukasa doesn't have any rules to abide by? I don't know. Maybe the rumors wouldn't affect him the same way or maybe he and his friends are the only ones manipulating them in a negative way right now. It's funny to me that both Hanako and Tsukasa had essentially the same idea about changing the rumors. Hmmmm.

Anyway, I got wayyyy off course. Sorry if that didn't add to your thoughts at all in a helpful way!

I haven’t given this a ton of thought, but something occurred to me and I gotta ramble about it for a minute. Why aren’t there any rumors about Tsukasa? I realize he’s kinda new on the scene, since he was, like, a paper crane for a while (??? I don’t really remember the whole deal with that), but with him being so active since he showed up and being directly in contact with two students, you’d think some rumors would have started about him by now.

It can’t just be because he’s not a mystery, because the mokke and the confession tree weren’t mysteries either. There’s the theory that he’s Hanako’s yorishiro, which is definitely interesting but I don’t fully believe. I feel like Nene would have figured that out by now, since the seal is in such an obvious place. 

Maybe it’s because he (or, more directly, Sakura) has so much control over what rumors are going around? Maybe he doesn’t want there to be rumors about himself that could influence how he acts or how powerful he is? But I could also see them using a rumor to make him stronger if they needed to. We’ve already seen them use rumors to serve their own purposes with Mitsuba. Also, I could be remembering wrong, but didn’t Hanako say towards the beginning that a spirit could disappear if rumors aren’t being told about them? I could totally be pulling that out of my ass, though, it’s been a minute since I watched the show or read the beginning of the manga. 

It might be interesting to see if the main trio ever try to use rumors to get the upperhand on Tsukasa. If they get to it first, they could seriously decrease the amount of harm he can do. But that’s all assuming that Tsukasa abides by normal spirit rules, which we’ve already seen he doesn���t (since he was able to beat the Hell of Mirrors in its own boundary). Idk, I’m just rambling here, but what do people think?
