why does no one ever talk about we were happy? we used to walk along the streets when the porch lights were shining bright, before i had somewhere to be, back when we had all night, and we were happy??? you threw your arms around my neck back when I deserved it??? no one could touch the way we laughed in the dark talking about your daddy’s farm you were gonna MARRY me???? it’s like midnight rain but written in the moment?? yes the production is a snooze but it’s one of her best-written early songs? do you guys even know it exists?
