This has probably been said before but whatevs. As a casual Walty shipper, I feel like Walter would regularly call Henry Hen as a nickname, but Walter’s the ONLY person that’s allowed to call him that. Like anyone else who tried calling him Hen would get immediately corrected, because that’s Walter thing and no one else’s. And they would get defensive if anyone ever questioned them on it.

Not So Sneaky (Lia Walti x Reader)
“Vic please just pass the fucking ball” You whine at your best friend, Victoria Pelova. She chuckles in response and passes it back with a bit of flair.
“Show off, keep it for the matches, yeah?” You smirk as she elbows you during some 1v1 practice.
“Foul! Ref!” You say rolling around on the floor pretending to be injured, quickly followed by Victoria attacking your ribs, causing you to burst out laughing.
“Alright love birds, we’ve got an important match to prepare for!” Katie helps you up from the ground after your assault from your best friend. Jonas gets you all to rotate partners and eventually you’re paired up with Lia Wälti, who you’ve been quietly crushing on since you signed for the team at the same time as Victoria during the January transfer window, both coming from Ajax.
“Promise I won’t nutmeg you this time” You joke with Lia as you do your regular training activities. “You better not, I saw what you pulled on Katie earlier” Lia jokes in response, referencing how you nutmegged the co-captain as she was attempting to tackle you earlier on, causing her to be at the end of a lot of jokes so far today.
“Ah, who am I kidding, I can’t resist it, can I?” You wink, going to nutmeg her during your 1v1, with her expertly managing to stop it and successfully nutmegging you in the process. You fake collapsing in shock at how you’d finally been nutmegged by a teammate.
“You…you traitor!” You reach your arm out to Lia as you crawl towards her, as if you are so injured from the ‘embarrassment’ from being nutmegged.
“God you’re so dramatic” She rolls her eyes as she helps you up, instantly you feel the warmth in your body at the contact between the both of you being much closer than you have been before, your chests basically touching. You both stop and are lost looking into each other's eyes for a few moments, until Vic’s cough to your side breaks you out of your trance.
“Was I interrupting something?” Vic raises an eyebrow in your direction suspiciously.
“Nope, I was just helping Y/N up after I finally nutme-” “WOAH! What Lia was saying is that I fell over and she helped me up” You cut in, Lia looks at you even more suspicious than Vic was.
“Okay….weirdo. Y/N are we still going out tonight?” Vic asks you.
“Of course we are, you know I wouldn’t miss out on our Wednesday night date night!” You wiggle your eyebrows suggestively.
“I’m gonna go get changed, I’ll catch you guys later” Lia rushes off.
“What’s her problem?” Katie walks over and asks, seeing Lia jogging off the pitch.
“No idea, we were just talking about mine and Vics wednesday night date night tonight?” You shrug.
“Y/N you idiot, you’ve been flirting with her and then making you and Vic sound like you’re together?” Katie smacks the back of your head.
“Wait what? I don’t get it?” You look at her confused.
“Sorry mate, you need to work this out for yourself, not me” Katie jogs off going after Lia.
“It's okay, we're fine, we're fine.” You sigh.
“Y/N/N maybe it's time you start dropping more hints for her. We can ditch our date night and you can always ask her out instead?” Vic suggests, you tilt your head in confusion.
“But what about our date nights?” You ask.
“Y/N get a grip, we can still hang out but you need to make a move” Vic says sternly. You nod and jog to the changing rooms a few minutes later to find Katie walking out giving you a supportive thumbs up. You walk in to see Lia half dressed and just pulling her shirt over her head, you manage to catch a glance at her toned stomach before panicking and turning away.
“Oh god sorry I didn't mean to walk in on you like this” You panic, visibly flush and flustered. Lia chuckles in response and sits down on the bench, she motions for you to sit in front of her.
“Okay right, I'm nervous as hell but I just have to get it all out. Lia I, I like you, like a lot. I don't know how it started but I've just been kinda admiring you from afar, no wait that sounded creepy. Okay maybe I did but I just, I'm not good with feelings but… I know I really do have feelings for you” You mumble really quickly, nerves getting the better of you.
“But… What about Pelova? You seem to be very close” Lia asks with a somewhat sad expression on her face.
“Oh we aren't together, she's not my type anyway” You laugh.
“Then.. What is your type?” Lia asks suggestively.
You gulp, feeling a sudden rush of confidence flowing through you.
“I'd say my type is brown hair… Likes football, plays for Arsenal, is Swiss, wears number 13–” You get stopped by the midfielders lips crashing into yours. It feels as if your body could go completely limp with how breathtaking her kiss feels, finally after all this time pining. After a few minutes you eventually break away.
“Wow that was…” You say, again with the same flustered face as before.
“Are you free tonight?” She asks.
“Yep! Vic made me cancel our date night so I'd finally ask you out” You chuckle earning a glare and a shove in return.
____
The next morning you wake up with a weight on your chest, Lia’s head resting on it with her hair all over her face. You gently brush her hair out of her face which slowly wakes her up.
“Good morning” You smirk.
“Good morning, I’m sorry if that was a bit much last night” Lia blushes trying to hide her face in her bed covers.
“Lia we literally had a make out session and pizza, it’s not like we had sex on the first date or anything…that’s the third date” You wink, obviously joking.
“God you’re so annoying” She rolls her eyes as she starts getting out of bed, you can’t help but admire her as she stretches, again you find your eyes roaming her body subconsciously until she breaks your focus by moving closer to you.
“You sure you want to wait until the third date?” She says positioning herself on your lap, in her shorts and sports bra.
“Uh…I…Um” You feel your face heating up as the midfielder smirks at you.
“I’m kidding…unless?” She winks, pressing her lips to yours and gently pinning you to the bed.
____
It's been around six months since you and Lia finally made your relationship official, and yet it was still only you two and your families that knew about the relationship. You both decided to keep it quiet for a while as you didn't want people to know, so that you had time to figure stuff out and make sure you didn't let it have any effect on your games, as well as just having some privacy.
Luckily all it had done was make you play better and be in a better mood, no one was suspicious until recently, you had a feeling people were noticing the longing looks you gave each other and the way you'd blush more at team events. You knew you needed to tell someone so today was going to be that day. You were driving Vic to training and she spotted something that you clearly didn't hide as well as you thought.
“Uh… Y/N..? What is that on your neck?” She says poking your very visible hickey on your neck. You instantly blush, having vivid memories of the previous night, hearing the Swiss girl uttering your name all night.
“What are you talking about?” You panic, covering where she is pointing with your hand.
“The hickey Y/N I’m not stupid” She rolls her eyes “No wonder you’ve been less stressed, Y/N/N has been getting laaaaaid” Vic sings.
“Shut up” You groan.
“You gonna tell me who did it, so I can cover this up for you?” She tilts her head at you, motioning with the emergency makeup bag you keep in your car for you and your friends.
“I need you to promise you won't tell anyone” She nods as you pull into the car park, your phone pinging with a message from Lia, which unfortunately is connected to your car.
“One new message from Lia: I got the stuff for dinner tonight! I love you, see you at training x”
“Nevermind you didn’t need to say anything” Vic smirks, giving you a knowing look.
“Uhhhh, me and Lia have just been hanging out?” You say a bit higher pitch than usual.
“You know better than to lie to me Y/N. Why wont you tell anyone?” She sighs at you. You turn the car engine off and sigh, Vic has the makeup brushes at the ready and starts covering your hickey for you.
“Look mate, we were worried it’d change the team dynamic, especially if there’s some weird feelings with her and Caitlin still playing for the same team, and if we get distracted. Basically we’ve had a lot of time privately and it’s been so nice” You ramble.
“Well I don’t think it would or even has changed anything, Caitlin still cares about Lia, but as a friend and I highly doubt there would be any hard feelings y’know? You need to at least tell Jonas or a coach to be safe” She suggests.
“You’re right…” You both get out of your car once she is done applying makeup to your neck, and you head towards the main building, you search around for Jonas and eventually stumble upon him, stuck in conversation with your girlfriend.
“...but what I’m trying to say Jonas is, me and Y/N won’t let it affect how we play or work, if anything I think we’ve improved recently” Lia says.
“Ah Y/N! Great timing, I’m sure you’ve just overheard but Lia told me about your relationship, obviously it’s none of my business but I can tell the difference in how you two have been playing and just in general. Only positive things!” Jonas pats you on the shoulder “I have no issues with it of course, I’m happy for you both for finding each other”.
“Thanks Jonas, means a lot, like really” You give him a hug, the man being somewhat of a mentor to you over the previous year.
“Tell the team when you feel you’re ready. Remember we are a family, we support each other” He says nodding over to the groups of girls in the gym, all getting on with their own thing.
“Yeah maybe we should do it sooner rather than later, no more hiding this” You look at Lia who nods in agreement. You reach out for her hand as you both walk hand in hand into the gym to meet the others, somehow no one saw your intertwined hands. Lia decides to go on a treadmill rather than lift weights with you, so she gives you a kiss on the cheek before walking off. Jen seems to be the only one who spots it and within minutes walks over to you.
“Excuse me, what was that earlier?” Jen looks at you wide eyed.
“What?” You smirk.
“How long has this been going on for then?” She smiles, seeming proud.
“About 6 months, we’ve been pretty private with it and we wanted to make sure we were settled before saying anything” You say.
“Oi did I see Wally kiss you on the cheek? Where’s mine?” Beth comes over and slings her arm over your shoulder.
“Sorry Beth, pretty sure that’s only for her girlfriend” Jen teases.
“Since when?” Beth shouts.
“Why are we yelling over here?” Viv walks over, visibly confused and attempting to hush Beth. Lia takes the opportunity to hop off the treadmill and save you from the commotion. As she gets closer you start smiling over at her.
“Hey beautiful, you looked like you needed rescuing” She smiles reaching for your hand.
“Ah I had it under control, see?” You nod over to the girls you were talking with, who are all now gobsmacked at what they’ve seen and heard.
____
Later on that day you both get ready at Lia’s house, she’s wearing jeans and a crop top with a plaid shirt over the top but not buttoned up. You on the other hand went with a casual hoodie and jeans.
“Darling, do we really have to go out with the girls tonight?” You groan seeing your girlfriend getting ready. “We could just stay at home…” you continue, trailing your finger from her chest to her abs.
“Later, if you’re good” she kisses you hungrily and leaves the bedroom with a wink in your direction, as you audibly groan and flop back onto the bed.
“Come on! Our uber has arrived!” Lia yells from the other room.
“You mean Viv?” You chuckle getting your shoes on.
“Of course, who else?” She laughs.
You get into Viv and Beth’s car. You and Beth spend the journey singing in the back of the car whilst Viv and Lia chat at the front. After a short while you eventually park up and all walk to the venue the team had hired for the night.
You and Lia are still somewhat wary of being affectionate in public, so walk side by side but not hand in hand.
Once you arrive at the club, you get yourself and the others a drink from the bar and return to find everyone crowding around some tables and having their own conversations, you take Beth and Viv their drinks first followed by Lia’s.
“Here you go, gorgeous” You pass her the drink and subtly kiss her cheek, she smiles at you, as you float around, being the social butterfly that you are.
____
A bit later on, after more drinks have been, well drunk, the group are getting rowdier and more daring, literally.
“Katie I dare you to do a backflip off that table” Kyra points over at the table for the Irishwoman to backflip from.
“Nope! Absolutely none of that here” Kim said, patting Kyra on the back with a chorus of boos coming from some of you. Your girlfriend approaches you in the area everyone seems to be dancing in.
“I miss you” She says pouting.
“Babe we’re literally at the same party with our friends, I was standing with you like 15 minutes ago” you say quietly.
“Yeah but I always want to be with you” She frowns.
“Alright if we are still daring people to do shit, I dare Y/N to kiss Vic!” Kyra slurs.
“I don't think that's a good idea, I've got a cold after all” Vic lies, everyone falling for it.
“Fuck who else will she kiss then? Gotta get Y/N out there, she’s been single for way too long” Katie jokes as she makes eye contact with Lia “Wally how about you?” She asks with her usual cocky smirk on her face.
“Sure. It's just a quick peck after all, right?” She smiles.
“OI! Kissing is too easy, I want a dramatic kiss! Make me believe you're in a relationship or something, I don't know!” Jen pipes up sarcastically, smirking at you after finding out about you both earlier in the day. You and Lia look at eachother and shrug as if to say ‘fuck it’.
She leans forward and pulls you in by the hoodie covering your chest. You gulp in response, knowing that you find her even more attractive when she’s being bossy. She passionately kisses you and brings her hands up to the back of your neck whilst you rest yours on her lower back slowly drifting lower.
“Oi you two, save it for the bedroom yeah?” Katie yells to the group, you lift one hand from Lia’s back to raise a middle finger up at Katie hearing a chorus of cheers when you do so. Eventually you break apart, blushing whilst Lia is grinning at your friends who witnessed it.
“Christ it's like you guys are dating or something” Leah says from the side, giving you a wink and head tilt to follow her.
“Right, I'm not as dumb as these idiots, how long?” Leah asks you.
“Around 6 months” You confess seeing a giant grin start to emerge on Leah's face. “I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, it's just..” She interrupts you.
“Y/N I've had an idea that there was something between you for a little while, and I know it's nice to have privacy and stuff, so I understand” She hugs you, you continue chatting to the side about how you should tell Kim as soon as possible, being the team mum after all. You hear singing get louder as karaoke starts, an idea springing to mind.
“Wait right here I've got a great idea” You say, patting Leah's shoulders and stumbling off. You yell out to Kim, who's watching the karaoke unfold.
“Kim, I'm sorry I haven't told you sooner but me and Wally are seeing each other” You blurt out when you get to her.
“I thought so! You guys seem happy, so I'm happy, ah I feel like a proud parent!” She hugs you tightly. “Have you told many people yet?”.
“No… But I have an idea on how!” You pat Kim’s shoulders as you walk over to the woman running the karaoke for the team and put in your request, but not for you to sing. When it's your song you walk up to take the microphone from Steph who was just belting Untouched by the Veronica's and hand it to Leah, who nods over at your girlfriend standing alone, watching you. You hear the opening notes to Lover by Taylor Swift as you take Lia's hands into yours on the makeshift dance floor.
“This one goes out to the lovers over there” she points at you and Lia before she starts singing.
“I love you” You mumble into her ear as you slow dance together, she responds with a loving kiss which has you both gasping for air afterwards. As you break away from your kiss you notice most of the room's eyes are focused on the two of you, knowing looks and shocked ones too, alongside cheering, whistling and the odd “Go on Y/N!”. You avert your eyes from the girls surrounding you in a circle and focus on the beauty in your arms, her eyes sparkling as she looks up at you.
After you finish dancing you're bombarded with questions from teammates, some a little inappropriate and some very sweet.
“How long has this been going on?” Steph asks.
“Around 6 months, we kept it quiet in an attempt to not mess with the team dynamic” You say. The questions die out and you eventually get to sit back down in a booth with your girlfriend and some of your teammates.
“Okay Lia I hate to be the one to ask it… But Y/N is so clumsy how on earth are you able to…have y’know… Seriously” Vic slurs, your face flushing red.
“Luckily her clumsiness doesn't affect her… Performance” Lia winks at you. Some of the girls are trying to get more details, as you decide to dismiss yourself to get yourself another drink.
“Y’alright?” Katie asks you at the bar.
“They're talking about my sex life so I'm here now” You chuckle, tapping your card to pay for your beer.
“Oh what! Let's go then!” Katie drags you back over to the girls.
“-but yeah she's so attentive and honestly, the best I've had” Lia finishes her sentence as you slide back in, groaning as they're still talking about sex.
“Y/N we've heard it all, no need to be shy. Your turn now anyway” Jen winks jokingly, with Alessia cracking up as you slam your head down onto the table. As you lift your head back up you catch Lia yawning and give her the look of ‘home soon?’.
You walk off again to chat with some of the girls to avoid discussing your sex life, and feel your phone vibrate.
From Lia -
You have been good today… So how about we go home and I show you something I got for you?
“Someones getting laid tonight” Leah smirks at your red face.
“What? No it’s just warm in here” You chuckle.
“Bullshit, I can see Lia giving you ‘the eyes’ from over there” Nodding in the direction of your lover, who was indeed giving you the eyes, causing you to look back down at your phone which Leah is also looking at. “Mate, are you stupid? Go home!” She pushes you towards where Lia is sitting.
“Lee this isn’t necessary” You groan approaching your girlfriend.
“Wally take your girlfriend home, she’s being all awkward” Leah chuckles “Have a good night ladies” she winks as she slides away from you both.
“Right I need to take this one home as she’s a bit too drunk, you guys need a lift?” Viv comes over right on time, you both nod and help her lug Beth back to the car. The short drive eventually ends outside Lia’s house, you say your thanks and goodbyes to the couple as you head into Lia’s house. You shrug off your coat and take off your shoes, but you notice your girlfriend has run upstairs to her bedroom.
“Oh it’s so on Wally” you mumble to yourself as you jog up the stairs, the girl waiting in her room for you.
“Eager are we?” You smirk going over to her.
“Well I did tell you you’d be rewarded so” She smirks, pushing you firmly down onto your bed. You’re usually the one ‘in charge’ but it seems Lia had a different idea tonight as she tells you to stay still. She slowly removes her jacket, putting on quite the show for you. You try to reach out to help her with her clothes but she slaps your hands away.
“Ah ah, no touching” She tuts.
“Right, if you don’t do something soon I’m going to eat you alive” You growl, causing a quiet moan to slip from Lia.
“Well if you weren't already saying that, then you'll definitely say it now” Lia smirks, lifting her shirt up over her head and slowly dragging her trousers down and revealing a new lacy black lingerie set that could easily kill you with how stunning she looks.
“Oh my god” You mutter.
“Now… How about we go back to how you were going to eat me alive?” Lia says suggestively, pushing you down on her bed.
“It’d be my pleasure baby” You smirk.

After a long week, Lia offers you something different for comfort.
18+
"Lia, I'm home!" you called out as stepped inside of your home. The past week had been pretty rough for you, but today seemed to drag on and on. You weren't sure what it was in particular that was causing you so much grief, but you felt absolutely wrecked. All you had been wanting all day was Lia. You craved being close to her, and you could only hope that she was in the mood to be around you.
At the silence, you started to fear that maybe Lia didn't want to spend time with you. She had been pretty busy all week, and you knew that it was hard for her not to have time to herself. This was the first day that she had off where you had been forced into the office, but that didn't mean that she would want you rushing into her arms at the end of it. With your luck, it was more likely that Lia just wanted the peace and quiet that you had trouble keeping.
"Lia?" you called out as you started to walk around the house. You sighed in relief when you saw her outside. The little garden that she had been keeping was just barely holding on with the change in weather. It was admirable how Lia refused to give up on it until every single plant was actually gone for the season. There were only a couple of flowers left, but she tended to them with great care.
"Shit!" Lia swore as she glanced up to see you standing at the sliding glass door. The shock of seeing you only lasted for a couple of seconds before it was replaced by joy. It shouldn't have surprised you that Lia was glad that you were home, but it did anyway. You knew that Lia loved you dearly, but if she had told you that in the moment, you would have burst into tears. "When did you get back?"
"Just now," you answered. Lia quickly got up from her little garden to walk over and kiss you. She didn't touch you with her hands, only leaning in to give you a couple of quick pecks on the lips.
"Give me a minute to clean up, and then I'll be in the living room," Lia told you.
"Wait, don't go. I need you." You were a bit embarrassed to sound so whiny, but Lia didn't seem to mind. She seemed to have a idea that your week had been rough, and today seemed to be the day to really break you.
"It's okay, I'll be right back. Just go wait on the couch for me," Lia told you. As much as you wanted to follow her around just to stay in her presence, you went to the couch like she asked instead. Lia was quick about cleaning up and coming back to you. You had expected her to just cuddle up next to you, not come back holding your favorite strap-on in her hand.
"What is that for?" You let Lia pull you onto your feet. She dropped onto her knees in front of you, hands resting on the waistband of your jeans. "Lia?"
"You said that you needed me, and I know that look in your eyes. It's been a rough week, so I want you to just sit back for a bit. We haven't had much time together, and I think I know a good way to reconcile that a little," Lia said. You really liked the sound of that, and it was your complete trust in Lia that led you to agreeing.
Lia got you out of your pants while you pulled your shirt off. She helped you into the harness, pressing kisses to your hips as she did so. You helped Lia up from her knees before being guided to sit back on the couch. Lia slowly stripped herself down to nothing before she straddled your lap.
"Don't do anything, okay? Just sit back and close your eyes," Lia told you. You leaned up to give her a couple of slow kisses before you did exactly what she said. You could feel her grind against your thigh a little, becoming wetter with each swipe of her hips.
Lia's hips lifted a little, and you whined at the sudden loss of contact. Lia grabbed your jaw with one hand, positioning your face to look down as her other hand made its way between her legs. You didn't bother having any sort of shame as you watched Lia touch herself in front of you. All of this was for you after all, so you reasoned that you were free to watch her all that you wanted.
"Do you want to taste?" Lia asked you. You nodded, opening your mouth just enough for her to push her fingers past your lips. You sucked the arousal off of her fingers as she lowered herself onto your strap. Your eyes darted down to watch as Lia settled down onto your lap. "I'm just gonna stay right here for a little while, okay?"
"That's fine," you mumbled. Lia placed her hands on your head, scratching lightly at your scalp. You wanted nothing more than to just enjoy the feeling of Lia being on top of you like this, but as she continued the movements of her fingers, you felt your eyelids begin to grow a little heavier.
"Shh, it's okay. Just relax and let it happen," Lia cooed as you started to try and fight off your exhaustion. Everything that had been happening over the course of the week seemed to be catching up with you. You felt your head start to tilt back a little, and Lia leaned forward just enough to press her body against yours. It barely took any time after that for you to fully just fall asleep, and once Lia noticed that you were out, she climbed off of you and brought a blanket over to cover your body with.

She needs you, Alessia Russo
Today was one of the biggest games, if not the biggest game of the season.
As an Arsenal player, playing Chelsea has to be the most fustrating game to play. More importantly as a defender, you have the task of keeping Sam Kerr quiet. Even with Leah by your side, it can be extremely difficult. Despite being your rival, you have the upmost respect for the Chelsea team and all of there players, they are a talented side but that means they bring out the best in you. But it's got to the point where everyone almost expects Arsenal to lose, like we don't even put up a fight against them.
You've played Chelsea many times over the 3 years you have been at Arsenal, your win ratio isn't exactly ideal. You can count on one hand how many times you've actually beat them.
However, Arsenal have made some big changes and improvements this season. With the new signings and players returning from injury, you were hopefull, really hopefull that you could win,
One of the new signings just happened to be your fiance. You and Alessia had known each other since you were about 13 through the England youth teams.
When you were 18, you had made the venture to move to America to go to University and play for North Carolina Tar Heels. Alessia had also made the move, meaning the two of you became a lot closer. Eventually that lead to a relationship when your were both 19.
In 2020, you signed for Arsenal and Alessia had signed for Manchester United. The distance was difficult for the both of you, it definatly challenged your strength as a couple. But it mad you cherish the time you did have together even more.
You had proposed to Alessia in the iddle of Wembley stadium when you had just won the Euros, you couldn'y have thought of a better time to do it. Thankfully, she said yes.
You were over the moon when your soon to be wife decided to join Arsenal. Obviously, you knew that the choice was difficult for Alessia and you knew how much she loved her United. But you couldn't be happier knowing that for both club and country, you get to play alongside the love of your life. You had the hope that Alessia was exactly what Arsenal needed to beat Chelsea.
Anyways, the Arsenal coach had just arrived at Emirates Stadium.
Before your warm up, you had chance to go onto the field to do the pitch check, to speak with some of the Chelsea players and have time with your own teammates.
After talking to Millie and Lauren, two of your fellow Lionesses, you and Alessia began walking around the pitch looking for your families in the quickly filling stadium.
"How you feeling, love?" You asked Alessia as she began tracing patterns on your hand whilst you were walking along, somethin she usually did when she was nervous.
"I'm good." She told you, her voice not at all convincing.
"C'mon Less, you know you don't have to lie to me."
"I'm just a bit nervous, that's all. It's a big game, there's so much pressure."
"Forget about the nerves, the pressures. I have no doubt that you'll be amazing because you always are. My stargirl."
By now, the two of you had stopped walking around. You had pulled Alessia into a hug, lightly kissing her temple, her head resting in your neck.
"I love you"
"I love you too"
Before long, you were stood in the tunnel waiting for both teams to walk out. You always were last in the line, it became an almost ritual for you now. You and Katie were messing around as usual, laughing at something one of the mascots had said.
Arsenal Starting 11:
GK - M. Zinsberger LB - K. McCabe CB - L. Williamson CB - Y/N. Y/LN RB - S. Catley CDM - L. Walti CM - K. Little (C) LW - C. Foord CF - V. Meidama RW - B. Mead ST - A. Russo
Chelsea Starting 11:
GK - Z. Musovic LB - A. Lawrence CB - M. Bright (C) CB - J. Carter RB - N. Charles CDM - S. Ingle CDM - E. Cuthbert CAM - F. Kirby LW - G. Reiten ST - S. Kerr RW - L. James
The game was fairly even at both ends. You and Leah had an amzing partnership at the back which the Chelsea frontline were currently struggling to get by.
At the other end of the pitch, our fowards were doing a really good job of testing Musovic in goal but nothing had managed to get past her.
Until…
45+2' Alessia Russo Goal (A: Y/N Y/LN)
You had sent a long ball from the halfway line, which managed to go ever the Chelsea back line and reach Alessia who kicked it into the back of the net.
She ran over too you and jumped, wrapping her arms around your neck and her legs around your waist.
In the second half, Chelsea brought a tougher energy. The players were acting way harsher towards the Arsenal players, way harsher than they were in the first half. Their tackles were higher, the shoulder barges were stronger and the shirt pulls were far more occurent.
However, even by the 80th minute, you still were in the lead. You and Leah had made no mistakes at the back, the Chelsea frontline couldn't even get a proper shot off without one of you making the crucial tackle or block.
Leading to this moment. Chelsea had a corner in the 83rd minute due to you blocking a Sam Kerr shot.
At Chelsea, you knew that they either aimed for Sam's head or Millie's. They would always aim for one of them two.
You were currently in the main mix of people in the box. You were glued to Millie's side, doing your upmost to mean that the ball didn't go in the back of the Arsenal net.
Guro's delivery was impeccable, the ball heading straight fo the mix of blue and red in the box.
You jumped up to try and deter the ball when you felt something a lot harder than the ball in the side of your head.
Everyone in the stadium watched as Sam Kerr's Boot connected with the side of your head, sending you limp on the floor.
The Arsenal players in shock when you didn't get back up like you usually did. Play was immediatly stopped when you were face down on the ground, not moving.
Your teamates headed in multiple different directions. Some members of both teams gathered round your unmoving state to give you privacy whilst waiting for the medics. Alessia and Katie headed stright for Sam's direction in an angrily manor, whereas Leah and Steph wher among some wsho where straight by your side.
Leah, slowly and carefully began to roll you over so you were on your back. Players faces screwed up in horror as your face was covered in blood, which was now all over your shirt.
"C'mon Y/N, I need you to wake up now." Leah said, whilst scanning your face to see if there was any sort of response.
Alessia's fustration towards Sam had took her attention, her mind thinking you would be up by now. In the midst of it all, she hadn't noticed how you were still on the ground.
Your eyes slowly flickered open, shocked at the amount of light you were faced with. The pain in the side of your head was unlike anything you had ever felt with.
"Less?" Your voice barely scraped a whisper as all you needed was your lover by your side.
"Give us a minute, love. She's on her way."
Leah darted her eyes to Alessia's direction, to see her still going at Sam, emphisizing her fustrations and anger.
Katie had now noticed your state, realising it was way more serious than anyone had anticipated. And was now trying to help Beth steer Alessia away from Sam. Alessia wasn't ever the type to get in shouting matches but everyone knew that you were each others weak spot.
"Less, stop! You've had your say, now leave it!" Beth's unexpectedly firm voice slightly startled Alessia. Meaning her and Katie could pull her away.
"Alessia, she needs you." Katie's words made her turn around to realise that you were still on the floor, blood dripping from your head, with Leah and the medics by your side.
Alessia made little time in rushing over to your side, guilt swarming her as she let her anger overwhelm her.
"Baby, i'm sorry. I'm here now." Alessia said, taking your hand in hers. Watching on as you drifted in and out of conciousness.
The medics were quick to get you on the stretcher and off the pitch to get you properly treated.
The players and stadium erupted in claps as you were took off the pitch and down into the tunnel, towards the medical room.
There was a significant amount of extra time in the match due to your injury, but the players concentration wasn't on the match anymore. It was on whether or not you were okay.
Alessia couldn't even think straight, let alone play a match. As soon as the final whistle went, Alessia disregarded all the usual expectations of post-match and ran down the tunnel to find where you were.
The confusion flooded Alessia as she approached the medical room. Your laugh could be heard from the outside of the room.
Alessia quickly swung the door open to be met with sight of you on the medical bed with pading and bandages covering the side of your head.
"Oh my, Babe your awake." Alessia said as she saw you, her body instantly relaxed a bit.
"Babe?" Your face crumpled up in confusion and so did Alessia's as your reaction to her wasn't what she expected.
She quickly directed her look to the staff on the room who were fast to reassure her that you were quite dosed up on medication.
"I have a wife, you know." You told her factually, crossing your arms over your chest.
"Ohh do you now?" Alessia had to hold in her laugh, but her eyes also softened at what you had just said.
"Yeah, she's so beautiful. The most beautifulest girl ever."
Alessia did now actually laugh at the word you had just created.
"Can you tell me what your name is? Just so I can go and get your wife, I'm sure she would want to know that your okay." Alessia tried to go along with your words, hoping you'd eventually realise that your fiance was stood in front of you.
"Y/N Russo." You told Alessia confidently.
Alessia eyes watered at your confession but she soon thought that the best thing was to just turn around and show you the back of her shirt.
"So you stole her shirt and now your trying to steal her wife."
"Right, love, listen. I am Alessia. Your my fiance, we're not married yet."
"Ohhhhh." You said, the realisation of your confusion finally hitting you.
Alessia came and sat on the bed next to you. You moved over so she could lay down meaning you could rest your head on her chest. Your hands wrapping tightly around her waist as hers lightly rubbed your back.
"I quite like the sound of Y/N Russo, though."

A/N: I'M BACK! This is the third and final piece of the falling series, finally making it's appereace! While I'm not super happy about it (which is probably because I feel a bit weird writing dialogue and this one has much more than the last two), I feel like this is the closing I wanted for it! I truly hope you guys enjoy it!
PART 1: FALLING
PART 2: PROMISES
Having Alexia look at you like that took your breath away. Her hazel eyes looking at you like you were the only thing in the world gave you goosebumps. It wasn’t until a frown made it’s way to her forehead that you realized she was talking to you.
“I said: ‘I was hoping we could have our usual Thursday? I have a lot that I need to say to you.’” She said, before frowning ever deeper before adding, “Where are you going? It’s Thursday.”
“D-Date. I’m going on a date right now.” You replied, cursing the stuttering at the hasher tone she used on the last sentence.
“I didn’t know you were going on a date today.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know I was supposed to inform the team captain of such personal affairs.” You snarked back.
“That’s not what I meant and know it.”
“I don’t know, Alexia. For the past few months, we’ve only spoken as teammates. I don’t think it was wrong of me assume that this is how we were now, nothing more than teammates.”
“This is not fair, Y/N. You said we were okay.” Alexia gritted, pushing past you into your apartment.
“I thought we were too! I wasn’t the one who kept cancelling every week.” You scoffed.
“But you can’t just go in date like that!” she bit back.
“Excuse me? You know what, forget about it. Just leave, captain.”
“I can’t! I can’t let you go on that date before I tell you how I feel!” The Catalonian yelled.
“The last thing I need is to hear how much you don’t care about me!” You yell back, pushing past her and leaving her alone in your apartment.
***
The blonde’s words rang in your ears as you drove late to the date. The restaurant wasn’t very far, but you chose to drive to ground yourself. The argument with the Spaniard and the quick conversation that followed made her eyes turn glassy as she blinked to try to see the traffic better.
Trying to find the teammate that Leah set you up with was a downward spiral. Not being able to locate whoever it was, Y/N could feel the stress and the frustration leak through her cracks. A hand gripping your shoulder brought you back to the moment, making you turn and face soft brown eyes.
You could feel the warmness emanating from your former teammate as she enveloped you in a tight hug. Dressed in a high waisted pants, a very nice blouse and ready to kill, Lia Walti stood smiling at you.
“Leah outdid herself this time.” The Swiss laughed with you.
“Now a lot of things are making sense.” You agreed.
Following your friend to the table the English captain reserved for you two, it was easy to lose yourself in the conversation, as you caught up. It wasn’t easy, however, to do it completely, with a very specific person occupying such a bug part of your thoughts.
“Do you want to talk about her or are you pretending she doesn’t exist?”
“The second option.” You pout back.
“Well, I know why Leah set this whole thing up but, in all fairness, I’m not ready to go all in again. With how things ended between me and her, it still stings, you know? I mean, the whole summer fling was nice, but ‘real world’ wise I’m not there yet.”
“Oh, thank God. I’d hate to ghost you after this.” You joke at her, making her roll her eyes.
“Asshole!” She laughed, throwing a balled-up napkin in your direction.
With the underlining expectation of the night becoming nothing than a hang out between friends, you two relaxed considerably and dug deeper into the mess she had been in and the one you were now.
Dropping her off in her hotel after you both agreed on telling Leah the date was great so she wouldn’t set up either of you again, at least for a while, you drove back home. Talking to Lia about Alexia was very good, as she was removed enough from the situation to have convinced that maybe the last thing you yelled to the Catalonian was unfair.
With that happy though in mind, you got ready to bed, preparing yourself for an unruly night filled with Alexia, as usual.
***
Having a flat tire on your way to the Camp Nou was most certainly not a part of your plan and only served to make a bad day even worse. First you missed you alarm after only being able to sleep as the sun started peeking from the horizon. Then, you ran out of literally everything that was your usual breakfast food for Game Day. And now, a flat tire after already being late. Yay.
Leaving the car after parking and now even glancing checking where you were, an Uber arrived only a few minutes after and dropped you off on the wrong side of the stadium. Another check for bad day.
“I’m so sorry I’m late! The alarm, then the food, then the car, the Uber…” You apologized to Jona and the rest of you team, after finally making to the Locker Room.
“Uhh, don’t worry, Chica Amante!” Lucy teased.
“Oh, how do you say that in Swiss German?’ Mapí joked.
The team quickly joined in, clearly having heard details from Lucy and Keira, who Leah unquestionably gossiped to. Rolling your eyes, you started getting ready. It didn’t scape you that the only person who didn’t join in was Alexia, who had been lacing the same boot since you walked in.
“Ohh, Y/N, you can be late for game after a deliberate session of Seven Minutes in Heaven in the closest empty room!” Someone joked.
“Bonus if you don’t need all the minutes!” It was added.
As the girls kept poking fun, you could see Alexia get more and more tense, until she finally got up rather abruptly, mumbling something about needing more tape. As she closed the locker room door behind her, the glassiness in her eyes made the decision you had been struggling since the day before much easier.
After not finding the older woman in the most obvious spots, Y/N went to their spot, the little Video room for any last-minute adjustments. Alexia was sitting in the first row, right in front of the projector, as if she was waiting to watch a game tape.
The blonde had her head down, on her hands, shoulder shaking, and sobs barely muffled by her hands. Choking down her own sobs at how hurt Alexia was, Y/N made her was quickly through the room, sitting next to the Spaniard, pulling her into a hug.
“Shh… First, we get thought this, then we talk.” You whisper, cutting her protests.
With her safely tucked in your arms, you two stayed like until she was ready. Holding her for what felt like forever, Y/N felt more in peace than she had felt in the past months.
A small part of her brain kept reminding her that this was one of the most important game of their careers, but Alexia was far more important. It was almost a full hour before the Spaniard was ready, slowly untucking herself for the safe spot that hid her from the world. It was several minutes later before she even managed to look in your direction. It was even longer before she spoke.
“I’m sorry.” The blonde broke the silence, with her voice trembling and oh-so-quietly that Y/N had to strain her ears to hear it properly.
“Alexia…”
“No, I’m sorry. For everything, really. You deserve so much more than what I’ve done to you.” She whispered, before adding with a broken voice. “I-I hope the date yesterday went well.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m stupid.”
“Alexia.”
“I was scared. After Jenni, I was completely broken. Then I let myself open up and she broken me too. Hell, a part of me was still broken when you came along. In the beginning of the year, I promised myself that right now I just needed to focus in getting better, so I closed myself for any shred that could lead into something more. But then you came and made me yours without me even realizing. When I did, I got terrified. I-I was certain that you would break me too, but I couldn’t take it. Not from you.” She cried softly.
“So, you took a step back before I could do anything?”
“Yeah. I thought that if you didn’t know you couldn’t break me too.”
“Ale…”
“No, it’s okay. I can get over it, is not even your fault that I completely fucked everything up.”
“Well, I really hope you don’t. I spent almost the entire “date” yesterday talking to Lia about you, about how much I love you.” You said, caressing her jaw, getting yourself lost on her honey gaze.
“Oh…” She gasped. “But..”
“Well, we agreed on telling everyone it went well because we were not interested in doing that again, but with a stranger. Neither one of us were ready to move on.” You chuckled.
“Can I kiss you? Please?”
You nodded, leaning forward, and meeting her lips. In that moment, everything was right again. Hearing her breath get caught up, her hands caressing your waist, the warmness of her skin. Everything was Alexia. You were undoubtedly hers.
Getting lost on her was far too easy. It always was. It took you every ounce of self-awareness too pull back, only to be allowed after a shred of pecks and nips. Eyes closed, breathing the same puffs of air being expelled from your heavy breathing, you felt like you were dreaming again. Too afraid to open your eyes and wake up, you remain basking in her.
“Can I have another chance? I need to make it right, to be yours and make you mine forever.” Alexia asked, hazel eyes looking through heavy hoods, as if you’re the only thing in the world.
“I don’t know if I trust you.” You whisper, feeling you vision blur though unshed tears.
“That’s okay. I want to earn it back, it’s the most important thing for me. I want your permission to work for it, but if you don’t want it, I swear to leave you alone.”
“Don’t you dare doing that.” You tell her, kissing her cheek.
You two stay there for a few more minutes before getting up, finding you way back to a very panicked locker room. Turns out that vanishing for over an hour right before a match made everyone very worried.
Making up with Alexia was easily the peak of the day but beating Lyon and kicking them out of the Champions League in a packed Camp Nou, after losing to them on the away game, with you two having the game of your lives surely made its way as a second peak of what started out as a bad day.
The next few months were spent with you two thick as thieves once more, the team back on the comfortable routine. It was the next year’s pre-season when you gave her the green flag that you trusted her, and it was exactly a few after she gave you a bar of you favourite chocolate that she asked you to be her girlfriend. It was also then that she told you that she bought all the chocolate of her favourite store.
The Sun made you feel warm, loved, cared, cozy, at home, yourself and so many more things that you weren’t quite sure that could be described as feelings. But right now, buried under and completely surrounded by everything her on their home, Y/N would vow on whatever entity that existed that Alexia the Sun itself.

The End - Alessia x Reader
Summary: request from @kylegggssssss "one with alessia russo where the reader suffers a career ending injury plz"
A/N: I was gonna post this, then I wasn't, then I was, then I wasn't because Walti got injured the day it was scheduled. Now I am because the idiot men won and put me in a good mood.
The thing about the human body and pain is that when you're in enough of it, it sort of just stops hurting. Your brain will give you other things to focus on while telling the rest of your body to do its best to protect your vital organs.
For example, right now, your brain is telling you to focus on how cold you are and the hands on your face instead of the pain in your leg.
The pain in your leg.
You can’t see the limb but you know it has to be bad because there are a lot of hands on your body trying to hold you still.
The hands on your face.
They feel familiar, you know these hands.
Tilting your head in the direction they seem to be coming from you see your girlfriend.
And she’s talking, well her lips are moving but you can’t hear her or anything else which is weird because you could definitely hear when you woke up this morning.
She’s also wearing her jersey, which is less weird because you’re pretty sure you were in the middle of a game before you ended up staring at the sky.
With that realization, you resume your attempts to sit up, only for all the hands to push you down again.
Turning back to your girlfriend, you also realize that you can sort of hear her. It’s hard though as if you’re underwater, and it’s only made worse by the noise of the crowd but you speak anyway.
“Less, babe, they won’t let me sit up. Tell them to let me sit up.”
Your words sound slurred, even to your own ears.
“You can't, they're bringing the stretcher out for you,” Alessia says, still not taking her hands off your face.
“I don’t need a stretcher, I need to sit up, so I can stand up and we can keep playing.”
“They’re bringing out the stretcher, lovely, you’re done for the day.”
“Oh, it’s that bad?”
Before Alessia has a chance to answer the medical staff and EMTs arrive with the stretcher and faster than you can process it, they have you on it and you’re moving.
“Less, Lessi,” you say trying to bring her attention back to you from where she’s talking to one of the people carrying you.
“Yes, Y/N/N, I’m listening to you.”
“You have to stay here and score a goal for me.”
“No, I’m coming with you.”
“You can’t,” you tell her, “This is our last sub, and if the looks on everyone’s faces is anything to go by, you won't be able to see me for a while anyway.”
Alessia grips your hand tighter, why have you only just noticed that she’s holding your hand?
“Y/N/N,” she’s cut off by one of the medics.
“Alright, Y/L/N, we’ve really got to go now,” he says.
“What’s the rush, mate? It doesn’t even hurt.”
The guy doesn’t bother answering you, instead, he looks over his shoulder and makes a motion with the hand not holding the stretcher. Then suddenly you’re moving faster.
“Okay, so maybe we are in a rush,” you say with a roll of your eyes, “Can we at least stop by the bench first?”
The medics exchange a look.
“30 seconds but nothing more,” the same guy says.
“Nothing more,” you agree.
They carry you over to where your team is huddled around Skinner, receiving instructions on how to finish the game.
Once you’re being held steady, you sit up, having finally noticed that you’re not being held down.
This gets everyone’s attention.
“Hey, team,” you say, turning your head to look everyone in the face one by one. “I’m going to hospital now but I need you guys to do me a favor and beat City because if you walk in with these sorry looks on you’re faces, I’m gonna be fucking pissed.”
No one says anything but a few of them nod and you see the rest of their faces harden, already back in game mode.
Turning your attention to your girlfriend, who has yet to let go of your hand, you give her what you hope is a reassuring smile before continuing to speak.
“I want to see the video of your goal when you come by later,” you tell her. Then laying back down, you say to the medics, “Take me away lads.”
They do.
You don’t remember much of the ambulance ride to the hospital or even actually arriving at the hospital. But you do remember getting the nerve block and hearing the whispers as they rolled you into the OR.
Your leg had remained covered the whole time, so you still hadn’t seen it but the whispers are bad.
The whispers say you’ll never play again.
When you wake up after surgery, it’s late or maybe earlier, but either way, it’s dark and Alessia is asleep in a chair beside your hospital bed.
The first thing you do is peek under the sheet covering you to get a glimpse of your leg.
Not being the biggest fan of what you see, the second thing you do is hit the call button to get a nurse in the room.
It doesn’t take one long to show up and after a quick conversation with them, you’re waiting for your surgeon.
When she arrives, you can tell by the look on her face, she only has bad news.
“Y/N, it’s good to see you awake,” she says. “I’m Doctor Jones.”
“Hey. Just give it to me straight Doc, no fluff.”
“I just want to start by saying that the surgery went very well,” she begins, “Your leg was broken in multiple places, most notably your ankle but there were fractures in both your tibia and fibula as well. We’ve realigned all of those and used plates to repair your ankle.”
“This is fluff,” you tell her, “I just need to know when I can play again.”
“Perhaps, we should wake up your friend before I tell you anymore.”
“Girlfriend,” you say firmly. “And, it’s better for everyone if you just get this over with and tell me.”
Doctor Jones pauses for a moment, clearly struggling with whether she should tell you or not before she nods.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” she says, voice calm and severe, “In my professional opinion, it is doubtful that you’ll ever be able to play professionally again. To do so would be risking your ability to walk.”
“Cool,” you nod. “Cool, cool, cool.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I’d like for you to leave now,” you say, not looking at her.
“I understand,” she’s already begun walking away and is standing in the doorway. “Members of the Ortho team will be in later to check your leg and put a cast on. Then the PT will come by so you can discuss possible next steps.”
You barely hear her, her earlier words bouncing against the inside of your skull as you stare blankly at the wall.
Seconds, minutes, and hours pass.
The sun rises.
A nurse brings you breakfast, then takes it away when it becomes obvious that you aren’t going to eat it.
Alessia wakes up but you make no sign of noticing it.
The surgeon returns and the two of them go out in the hallway to talk. Alessia comes back alone and immediately climbs into the small bed with you, pulling you down so that you’re laying with your head against her chest.
She doesn’t say anything. You aren’t sure if you want her to.
Your teammates come.
They bring flowers and cards and news of the game.
Millie and Ella take it a step further and pull up highlights and take turns breaking down all 3 of the goals that happened after you got hurt.
They all try to hide it but you can see the sadness on their faces.
The ortho team comes to put your cast on and the team leaves, they all ruffle your hair as they leave the room.
A few of them argue about who will be the first to sign your cast, there are plots to be the first ones to come visit you on their own once you’ve returned home.
Getting the cast is the worst.
The ortho tech and his assistant manhandle you into position, bending your knee and ankle so they can get it set. It goes halfway up your thigh and it starts to itch immediately.
It’s terrible.
Everything about this sucks and it only gets worse when the PT comes by.
He talks for almost 10 minutes and Alessia asks him questions.
When he leaves, you break and it’s not pretty but Less holds you the whole time.
She tells you that everything will be fine and that you’ll get through it together.
You don’t believe her when she starts talking but by the time you cry yourself to sleep, you could be easily convinced that your girlfriend is the only person who has any idea what’s going on.
That feeling doesn’t go away.
You’re in the hospital for 2 additional days after that.
You sent Alessia home the very next morning, pointing out her need to get proper rest and return to training. There is a title to secure after all.
A week after your release, you leave your and Less’s shared apartment for the first time.
It’s game day you’ve convinced your brother to drive you to LSV so you can support your friends in person.
While the wheelchair you’re forced to use is cumbersome, and you're slightly embarrassed to not be walking in under your own power, you can tell all the fans are happy to see you.
In fact, you get a notification that the team has tagged you in a photo of you letting some young fans sign your cast.
The game, though, it’s one of the best you’ve seen as a fan. It was a terrible day to be a Liverpool fan.
Afterward, your idiots teammates, mostly Millie and Vilde, take turns carrying you piggyback-style around the pitch to thank the fans.
Unfortunately, your presence manages to get the attention of the media and you find yourself sucked into the post-game presser with Skinner and Zel.
You’re zoned out for most of it but eventually, you hear the gaffer saying your name.
“Yea, obviously, we missed having Y/N out on the pitch tonight, even off the field she’s an important part of the team,” Marc says. “As for the timeline for her return, we’re currently seeking a second opinion but otherwise we’re taking it day by day and we’ll reevaluate in a few months.”
You barely manage to keep from rolling your eyes at him and you must be successful because the reporter turns his attention to you.
“Y/L/N, is there anything you can tell us,” he asks.
“I mean I’m out for the rest of the season, obviously,” you reply after taking a moment to think about it. “Otherwise, I get this cast off in a few weeks and hopefully I get a smaller one because it is pretty annoying not being able to unbend my knee.”
“Is there an official diagnosis or prognosis?”
“Yea mate, broken.”
“Have you seen the clip of how it happened,” someone else asks.
“Nah, sports psych told me not to,” you say, “I tend to listen to her. I don’t blame the City player though, not sure who it was, whole thing was a freak accident.”
You continue to answer the stupid questions for another 5 minutes before you excuse yourself, using your brother as an excuse.
Except it isn’t your brother who’s waiting for you in the hallway, it’s Alessia.
“Where’s Nick,” you ask.
“He went home,” she says, grabbing the handles of the wheelchair, “Thought you’d be happier to see me.”
“I am. Just shocked.”
You tilt your head back just in time to see her smiling down at you and you can’t help but smile back at her as she wheels you through the halls and out to the car.
Most of the car ride is silent, Less is focused on driving and you’re still trying to get used to your new role as a passenger princess.
Plus, you’re battling a lot of big thoughts while you sit with your leg elevated across the back seat.
It isn’t until you feel the car come to a complete stop and be turned off that you voice one of them.
“Hey babe?”
“Hmm?”
“You know you don’t have to stay with me, right,” you tell her calmly. “I know this isn’t really what you signed up for.”
Your girlfriend turns around to look at you only to find you staring straight out the window with the same blank look from the hospital.
You're so caught in your own head that you don’t even see her get out of the car.
One moment, you're leaning against the car door and the next you're leaning against her. Less having come around and climbed into the back with you.
“You're an idiot,” she says after a moment. “You’re an idiot and I’m not letting you break up with me.”
“Lessi, baby, just,”
You’re cut off.
“No, don’t ‘Lessi, baby’ me. For some reason you seem to think that I won’t want to be with you if you can’t play football, which is stupid,” she says, turning your head so you’re facing her. “I love you, not because you’re good at football but because you’re you.”
“I don’t know who I am if I’m not a footballer.”
“You’re Y/N Y/L/N. You’re the person who still goes to check on her former elderly neighbors because you know they don’t get a lot of visitors. The same person who once hiked 2 miles in the rain because her nephew dropped a toy and refused to leave without it. You,” she pauses for a moment, “You great big idiot, are the love of my life and I’m not letting you push me away because you’ve gotten stuck in your own head.”
“Okay.”
“Good, now let’s get inside, there’s a new episode of Big Brother tonight.”
When she reaches for the door handle, you stop her.
“Hey pretty girl,” you say, getting her attention, “I love you too and I can’t promise to stop being an idiot completely but I can promise to try.”
Your girlfriend doesn’t say anything, she just takes your face in her hands, much like she did a week and a half ago on the field, and presses a soft kiss to your lips.

We actually won a game! Are we still getting a WTF Happened?
For that first half absolutely
1. Game of two halves
I don't know what the fuck Jonas said at halftime (apparently brought in the suspended Katie McCabe) , but especially the attacking players were literally different players in the second half.
2. Defensively
Defensively besides when they conceded the goal they were very solid. Brighton was more concerned with playing in a low block than going forward. Great that they got more minutes out of Leah Williamson and she linked up well with Rafaelle Souza as did Lotte when Leah went off. Noelle played really well on the left and Laura was great going forward and getting back, especially considering this was her first start.
3. Midfield
The midfield overall was alright, there weren't any real issues which really is what you want. Jordan really needs to put a goal away to just get the monkey off her back about sitting on 50 wsl goals. Kim was very good at breaking up play but Lia Walti was the standout in the midfield. Not surprised she went off with cramps as she basically ran for 80 minutes and was great as she always is defensively but offensively she was great with some fantastic long balls to cut lines. As I've said before Kim and Jordan are not the best for communication when they're trying to go forward and watching Lia was continually directing play which was great in building up attacking chances allowing Kim and Jordan to go forward and assist in the attack.
4. Attackers
The fact they scored is a relief. Getting more minutes into Tobin was like Leah really important and overall she played alright. Created some good chances and had good link up. While the second arsenal goal was a little bit controversial it really picked up the spirits of both Beth and Viv getting on the scoresheet for the first time since November. However, the fact neither goal was scored from open play is a little concerning but given the competition they have next, it should be expected that they should both get more chances to score from open play.
