A sneak peek of my OFMD/36 Questions AU.
The crackling of the recording filled the silence that had been suffocating Stede in the cabin of the car for the better part of twenty minutes. The radio signal had cut out around Terrace and he’d just now finally managed to get his iPhone hooked up to the aux cord after a fair bit of swearing, and, in a moment of weakness, bargaining to a higher power he hadn’t spoken to in years.
When he'd first lost the radio signal, he’d tried the novel idea of sitting in silence with his own thoughts for a whopping total of 7 minutes before he started rummaging through the glove compartment for the aux cord he knew had to be there, dammit.
The sound of rain falling on the rooftop had once been soothing to him – notoriously he’d fallen asleep in the passenger seat on many a road trip, greeted by plenty of ribbing from Ed when he would eventually wake up, hair somehow tasseled as if he’d slept all night. The number of accidental naps he’d fallen victim to on a rainy Sunday, Ed using his chest as a pillow as they cuddled on the couch, could rival any housecat.
Back when life was still simple. Deceptively simple. The irony of that statement wasn’t lost on Stede.
But now, as he sat hunched forward over the steering wheel, downing his fourth cup of coffee this afternoon, eyes straining against the dimly lit backcountry roads even this early in the evening, the rain was maddening. Like, an itch under your skin that you just can’t scratch, the sound of water dripping from somewhere that you can’t locate, broken smoke alarm maddening.
After his desperate attempt at getting his Apple music working proved to be a more futile effort than getting an FM radio station out here, he’d settled on shuffling through the dozens of recorded voice memos he had saved.
Anything to break the silence.
Sighing, he gently turned the volume up as Ed’s laugh came through the car speakers.
“Alright alright, I’m pretty shit at these things, and you all definitely want me to stop talking so you can get back to drinking. But I just wanted to say good job, crew. I’m proud of you all. Have fun, enjoy yourselves, and I'm gonna go make out with my smokeshow fiance.”
A chorus of laughs, quite a few vocal groans, and at least one wolf-whistle followed his declaration. Someone, Lucius? shouted about 'getting a room.'
The company holiday party was always a boozy affair, although Ed managed to make it through his speech with minimal slurring, no less boisterous for all of his efforts.
“Hey you.” Quieter, closer, more familiar. A voice filled with so much love it made Stede nearly burst at the seam. A voice reserved just for him.
“Hi,” recording Stede laughed, breathless
Stede swallowed the lump forming in his throat, clicking through to the next recording, where he was greeted with his own voice.
“Reminder to self: ask Lucius to look into the original owners of the Queen Anne's – "
Click.
“Can you repeat that?” recording Stede asked, voice clearly smug.
Ed laughed, a sound Stede would do anything to hear right now. “What are you doing?” He asked, suspicious.
“I’m just getting this as evidence that you said you were fine with a small wedding – city hall, no guests.”
“Okay, yeah, fine, I want a small wedding. Although I’m pretty sure we need a witness or something.”
“Well that’s just small details – oh.” There was a muffled sound of surprise, followed by a pleased laugh pressed between lips, before the recording cut off.
Click.
The sound of a waterfall. Their first anniversary, a trip to Snoqualmie. Stede had wanted to see the falls – the Pacific Northwest was still so novel to him then, he'd felt like every time he turned around there was another stunning view of mountains or harbors or evergreen forests. Ed had found his excitement amusing then, humoring him with trips up and down the coast.
The sound of running water filled the car cabin for another minute before crunching footsteps interrupted the tranquility of it all.
“Are you recording right now?” Ed called out in the distance.
“Mhm. I just want to remember it all!"
There was a pause – Stede remembered that Ed had wrapped Stede up in his arms, the two of them watching the waterfall in front of a sunset that should have been painted.
“Do you ever listen back to any of these?” Closer now, softer. That damn voice again.
Stede hummed. “Not yet.”
“Will you?”
“Maybe when I miss it.”
Click.
Stede knew three things to be true:
Today is July 28th, 2009.
His name is Stede Bonnet.
And he had been lying to his husband since the moment he met him.

THREE DAYS  I  LEE TAEYONG
When your over controlling boyfriend invites you and his best friend to a three day resort did he not see trouble approaching? especially when said best friend has been trying to get in bed with you since the moment he met you.
Genre: mature theme, slight smut
warnings: cheating, suggestive masterbation, slight public scenes, cursing.
words: 3k
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Are you sure it's okay for me to tag along ?” Taeyong spoke into the phone as he threw a dress shirt into his already overflowing suitcase. “Okay cool, well I`ll see you guys at the resort then.” Taeyong sighed as he cut the call and took a good look at himself in the mirror. He wondered if he was too overdressed, or not dressed enough. He bit down on his lip and looked at the caller ID, his best friend Inseong holding on to the person Taeyong desired most, Inseong`s girlfriend.
He had no idea when this “crush” began, if you could call it that at this point. Inseong and Taeyong had been casual university friends for a while but it was after graduation, when they both got hired by the same corporate office did they really establish a close friendship.
Taeyong and Inseong did most things together, whether it be catching up at music events or a sunday afternoon golf trip. But if he were being honest, the real reason he loved hanging out with Inseong was because he knew he’d bring her around, the girl who had stolen his heart without having the slightest clue.
DAY 1 : FRI
“Taeyong is afraid he is going to third wheel” Inseong chuckled as he concentrated on the open road in front of him, casually looking over at you scoffing down a bag of jelly tots.
“Youre working though” you stuck your tongue out at him, “Im gonna be just as alone as he is.”
“I guess you are” Inseong let out a sigh, “I don't understand why the dude cant get a date though he’s pretty good looking right?”
“Uhm yeah he's attractive.” Attractive was an understatement. You will never forget the day Inseong introduced you to Taeyong, It was around the time you two just started dating about two years ago, and you had never seen someone that good looking up close before. It wasn't the fact that you didn’t find your boyfriend attractive, you loved Inseong and he was a good looking guy but Taeyong, he was different.
Taeyong barely spoke to you but he was always polite and had a warm aura unlike the rest of Inseongs friends. He was the one you got along with most and because of that Inseong had a habit of inviting him on many of your trips, much like the one you're venturing on now.
You stuffed the empty snack packets into a trash bag as Inseong pulled into a very fancy resort one you weren't quite familiar with. Inseong was actually on a work trip that involved meeting with potential clients and partners, this did not include Taeyongs sector but their boss allowed him to bring you two along as a treat. Inseong’s firm absolutely adored him, which made sense because he was practically married to his job.
“I'm going to get the room keys” Inseong placed a peck on your cheek and you watched him jog off to the front desk while you meandered around the foyer of the hotel.
“y/n” you heard a chirpy voice call from behind you. Turning you were met with those bold black orbs and that ever so charming smile.
“Taeyong” you grinned back pulling him into a tight hug that drowned you in his rich scented perfume.
Taeyong wasn't sure if you noticed his fingers linger on the small of your back. He would always leave you small signs but you’d never notice. His bright eyes dulled for a second when your attention turned back to Inseong who returned with the room keys.
“Oh you're here great! y/n and I are staying in the room next to yours, do you mind taking her up ?” Inseong said, handing Taeyong both sets of keys.
“What? You’re not coming up to see the room ?” you asked, a little hurt that he was already ditching you on this trip.
“Sorry honey they want to do a meet and greet and tour of the resort, i'll be up as soon as it's over” Inseong gently stroked your head and you watched him walk off with one of the resort employees.
“I guess it's just you and me then” Taeyong smiled although regretting his words when he saw the fake smile grace your face and made your way over to the elevators. Taeyong was all too familiar with this scene. Inseong being busy, he excludes you from the rest of his corporate friends and eventually calls on him to babysit you. He wondered if you resented him solely because of Inseong’s habits. He tried his best to always make you feel comfortable even if it put him in the most uncomfortable position both mentally...and physically.
“Well I'm going to take a nap so I'll see you around I guess” you pressed your lips together and took the room key from him.
“Are you not gonna eat anything ? We could go down for Lun-”
“I'm good Taeyong, I'll see you later okay ?” Taeyong watched as you disappeared into the room and it felt like he had been punched in his stomach.
DAY 2 : SAT
Taeyong lay in bed utterly exhausted after barely getting a wink of sleep courtesy of the screaming match that happened last night. Although muffled, Taeyong already knew it was about Inseong coming back at around 3am. ‘What meeting would go on until that time especially on the first day’ Taeyong thought as he rubbed his bare chest and stared up at the ceiling. Inseong loved his job and he loved socializing with people who shared that interest. To him coming home at that time absolutely plastered was normal, because it was part of his work lifestyle.
Taeyong groaned and turned onto his stomach, burying his head into the pillow as he heard your sobs replaying in his head from the fight. He was tired of sitting around not doing anything when he knew for a fact he could treat you way better. At moments like this he didn't give two shits about Inseong, especially after he got the new promotion and made a new friend group of pretentious assholes. Taeyong wanted to be with you by your own choice, he wanted to hang out with you without Inseongs name attached to the reason you two were together.
Just as he was lost in his thoughts Taeyong’s ears perked at the sound of Inseong leaving the room and the sound of the shower running.
“No fuck not now please not now” Taeyong groaned as he felt shudder overcome his body and his underwear became slightly restricted. His mind raced with thoughts of you. It all came to him so quickly he barely noticed that his hand was already down his sweatpants as he buried his face further into his pillow. He wished he was with you. The things he would do to you were unspeakable. He wouldn't give a shit if Inseong walked through those doors finding him on top of girlfriend, he didn't care.
You finished drying yourself off and put on a cute yellow sundress that hugged your curves, showing off the two piece bikini that Inseong told you not to wear around the resort especially when he wasn't with you. This was payback for the way he treated you last night. Not only did he ditch you in a foreign room for an entire evening, he also returned drunk out of his mind and blamed you as usual for not taking care of him. You wanted to at least enjoy whatever you could from this trip and if it meant looking hot and hanging out with Taeyong, then so be it.
You made your way next door and rang the doorbell patiently waiting for your assigned babysitter. Taeyong swung open the door, dressed in only in a pair of black harem pants and a towel on his neck that he used to dry his hair. You took in the site of his bare chest, drinking in his pretty figure that matched his gorgeous face.
“I'm sorry I was gonna go down for breakfast I was wondering….i’ll just wait outside”  you stuttered and you heard Taeyong giggle
“Come inside y/n.”
You walked inside his room and it was surprisingly neat in comparison to yours. You felt kinda embarrassed at the state of your room even though most of it were Inseongs doing anyway.
Taeyong continued drying his hair as he watched you scan his room, his eyes already on your figure in that goddamn sundress. His only thoughts were ripping it off until he noticed you were staring right back at him.
“Your hair is sticking up a bit at the back, here let me help you”
Taeyong watched as you approached his figure and reached up to neaten his hair. He really admired his will power to keep his hands off your body as you inched closer and closer to him.
“Thanks” he smiled sweetly masking his dark intent and threw on a loose hawaiian shirt gesturing towards the door, “shall we?”
The two of you had a decent day lounging around the pool area and took a stroll on the beach before heading back for lunch. You never expected to bump into Inseong and his colleagues during lunch and the way Inseong looked at your outfit, you knew you’d never hear the end of it. He practically ignored you the entire time while he and his friends chatted away, even going as far as introducing Taeyong to a few of them but not you.
Just before you and Taeyong made your way to the elevators to retreat back to the rooms, Inseong jogged over and tugged on your wrist.
“I know we had it out last night but was all of this really necessary ?” Inseong gritted his teeth as he looked over your skimpy outfit.
“I thought it was cute, not everything I do is to ruin your perfect life Inseong” you rolled your eyes and pressed the button to signal the elevator.
Inseong let out an exasperated sigh and released your wrist before massaging his temple.
“Just dont pull this kinda shit at the dinner tomorrow please, the chairman is going to be there.”
You and Taeyong watched as Inseong stomped away and Taeyong noticed that for once instead of beating yourself up about Inseongs reaction you seemed somewhat proud to piss him off to that extent.
“I'm sorry you're always in the middle of all of this Taeyong” you apologized as the two of you stepped onto your floor and made your way to the rooms.
“It's okay y/n it's not your fault, and besides I think you look ridiculously hot in that dress” he replied and licked his lips as you felt your face heat up with his bold words. “Also,” he continued as he scanned his room key
“I think you should own it, wear something sexy tomorrow, not for Inseong but for yourself and maybe a little for me.”
DAY 3 : SUN
You looked at yourself in the mirror, smoothing out the classy black velvety dress you had saved for a night out. The dress was intended for a Valentines date with Inseong but that never happened because he had a more important meeting to attend.
As you made final touches to your outfit you wondered if subconsciously you did also dress up for Taeyong. God the way he looked at you when he told you to wear something sexy, you hadn't felt flustered yet intrigued like that in a long time.
You put on the final touches to your make up and made your way down to the banquet room. You already felt a bit awkward as you noticed a few people stare at you and whisper until you saw Taeyong. You barely noticed Inseong sit directly in front of him, all you could see was Taeyongs dark eyes taking every bit of you in.
Inseong’s eyes though we're different. He looked annoyed but still got up to help you into your seat which was weirdly next to Taeyong instead of him. But then it dawned on you when you noticed that the name card next to him was the chairman.
Typical. That was all he cared about in the end.
Taeyong’s eyes were still on you as you took your seat, unbothered if Inseong even noticed at this point, he was in awe. Did you dress up because he told you to ? Did you dress up for yourself and maybe, just maybe for him ?
“You look gorgeous y/n” he whispered, his deep voice sent a shiver down your spine. You brushed your hair behind your ear and nodded a thank you, trying to keep your focus elsewhere. Although Taeyong was conversing with the people at the table something made you feel as if you still had his full attention.
You almost jumped when you felt his cold fingers trace circles on your knee, his focus was still in his conversation but yours was solely on his movements. Taeyong lightly squeezed your thigh to test the waters, a smirk he indefinitely couldn't hide graced his face and he allowed his hand to move higher.
You gulped as he began to move, completely entranced by his touch as you felt him trace more circles on your upper thigh until his hand settled in your lap. Taeyong moved his chair closer to you and the table in order to obstruct the view of a passerby or any suspicious eyes at the table.
“You work with Inseong right?” a man said to Taeyong as he laced his fingers with yours under the table.
All of it was so incredibly promiscuous but it gave you an adrenaline rush and Taeyong knew you were completely on board when you squeezed his hand back and bit down on your lip.
Taeyong grabbed your hand and placed it in his own lap, allowing you to feel exactly what you were doing to him at this moment. You sucked in a breath as you palmed him and he gave your thigh another squeeze, this time much harder, rougher than before.
Eventually into the night you decided to excuse yourself and Inseong preferred it anyway. You couldn't believe how oblivious he was to the closeness of you and Taeyong that it only angered you even more of how he would really choose these fake people over his girlfriend for the night.
As you made your way to the elevator you didn't even realise Taeyong had already followed you there, putting on his usual laid back demeanor. The two of you stepped into the elevator and it was silent. You wondered why he was so quiet especially after pulling that stunt during dinner. Completely confused you grabbed your room key but before you could scan it Taeyong blocked your path, scanning his room key and pulled you inside his room not giving you any time to process this.
He was all over you, his lips his hands his body, you felt almost every part of him as he pressed you against the wall. He used his knee to separate your legs as he planted open mouthed kisses on your neck, practically growling into your ear when he heard a moan escape your lips.
“I-I didn't do anything in case someone from dinner saw us” he explained as he found the hook of your dress but stopped to look in your eyes, “are you okay with this?”
You answered him by practically ripping open his white dress shirt and ran your hands down his body. Taeyong smirked and moved you to the bed, ridding himself of his shoes and trousers before attacking your neck once more.
“I'm sorry if this all moves too fast I literally can't help myself” he growled once more as you got undressed and the sight of you in your scantily clad underwear made him lightheaded.
“Well its best we hurry the fuck up before that asshole comes back” you sighed as you pulled him on top of you.
“Fuck I dont want to hear about him, youre mine right now” Taeyong groaned and skillfully unclipped your bra and rid you of your lace panties. You bit down on your lip as you watched him pull down his boxers and free his member, licking your lips unconsciously.
“Don't worry baby you can suck it next time” he teased and without warning pushed himself into you with one brisk movement. The room filled with both of your moans as Taeyong’s hips slammed into yours, while one hand laced his fingers with yours while the other was wrapped around your throat.
“Oh my God Taeyong” you cried completely in ecstasy thanks to the way Taeyong handled you. He was animalistic yet not hurting you in any way. His eyes burned holes into yours as he moved his hips faster and faster until you came undone and he followed straight after.
Taeyong quickly cleaned you up and kissed you softly, his touches were much lighter as he held your face in his hands moving his lips gracefully against yours.
“I'm going to end things with him Taeyong I can't take it anymore” you rested your head on his chest as he stroked your hair.
“I know baby just do whats best for you, and just know I actually do like you like really fucking like you” he replied and he felt you smile.
“You fell for me in three days ?” you giggled against his chest.
“No baby i've liked you since the day I met you, these three days were for you to finally come to your senses.”

Things had been slow for you and the boys over the past few days; your missing prophet was your main priority right now after he managed to sneak himself out of your sights once again. Hunts were put on the back burner while all of you turned over every stone and followed any lead that might help you might Kevin. You tried your hardest to make yourself useful as possible. But your body didn't seem to get the message.
It was the morning after the first trial when you woke up feeling like someone had thrown a boulder at you. For a little while you thought you might have been coming down with something from how awful you felt. Every inch of your body ached. The room felt like it was spinning underneath your feet. You barely ate breakfast more than a few bites before you felt like you were going to be sick to your stomach. And all you wanted to do was sleep. You managed to make it a few hours before you lost the fight when Sam found you in the library with your face resting against your keyboard after accidentally falling asleep.
You simply said that you were resting your eyes, the little white lie didn’t even crack a smile in the younger Winchester who told you to go lie down for a little while until you felt better. You made your way to Dean's bedroom that you spent the most time in, taking it upon yourself to get comfortable by changing out of your jeans and shirt for one of one his sweats and flannel button ups that were starting to become snug around your growing belly. And it smelled like him.
You curled upon on the bed and laid there for a few minutes, trying to talk yourself into the idea of resting until the late afternoon and getting back up. You'd feel better by the time you woke up. But that didn't turn out to be the case when you rose back up from slumber, feeling disoriented and a little but confused as to where you were. You stumbled your way out of bed, not even bothering to fix your bedhead hair that was probably all over the place at this point.
You made your way to the library at a slow pace while trying to get yourself to wake up. Dean was sitting in the library with a six pack at his side and his laptop open, nursing a beer while overlooking security footage they set up after parting ways to take your “nap.” He looked away from the screen after seeing you stumble your way towards him. As he was about to greet you, he was taken back slightly at your disheveled appearance he wasn’t quite used to.
“Look who’s risen from the dead.” Dean said. You rolled your eyes at his sarcastic remark and gave him a look to show you weren't even the slightest bit amused. It didn't take any time at all to discover why your ensemble looked so familiar to him. "Hey, how many times do I have to tell you about stealing my clothes?"
"Shut up. I'm not stealing. I'm merely borrowing them. It's comfortable...and these pants are the only ones that fit me over my stomach." You mumbled your excuse. You grabbed each side of the flannel button up to wrap it tighter around your body when you crossed your arms over your chest when you felt a shiver run through you. "What time did I lay down?"
“You took a siesta around noon.” Dean said, glancing down at his watch to see what it was time again to make sure he got the time correct. You shrug your shoulders at his answers that lead you into believing that it was probably early evening from how groggy you still were. "Yesterday."
“What? How is that even possible?” You asked. “Why didn’t you try and wake me up?”
"I did. But you were out like a light. Don't worry. I checked up on you every few hours to make sure you were still breathing. Hey, since you're here, can you hand this to..." Dean had the bright idea to grab one of the glass bottles from the six pack and throw it in your direction, thinking you were capable of catching and handing it over to his brother who was around here somewhere. All you could do in the moment was to watch as the bottle went right by your head...and go crashing to the ground, making a shattering noise. Not to mention a mess of beer and shards of glass. Dean winced at the unexpected consequences, you slowly turned your head back to him to apologize at what you just let happen. "That's why we don't have nice things, sweetheart."
“Hey, what the hell was…” Sam came out from where he was after hearing the sounds of what was glass breaking to inspect that the problem was. He noticed the beer bottle on the ground first and then you finally away from your deep slumber. The younger man hoped you might be in better shape after resting some more. Only somehow you came out of a full day’s sleep looking even worse. “No offense, but you look awful. You okay?”
"Yeah, I'm—I'm fine." You mumbled an excuse about your well being. All your body was telling a very much different story. You managed to make your way up to the library before you felt a dull throbbing pain in the center of your head, causing you to shut your eyes. You leaned yourself against the wooden table top and tried your hardest to gather up energy you didn’t have. “Uh, you know what? I’m gonna get dressed. We should find Kevin.”
"Hey, easy sleeping beauty." Dean jumped out of his chair when he saw you stumbling about like a baby deer trying to learn how to walk for the first time. You managed to catch yourself before you could hit the ground. Dean still took it upon himself to wrap an arm around your waist and help you stand, afraid for the worst. "Look, sweetheart, Sam hacked into every security camera around—Garth's houseboat, Kevin's hometown, where Mrs. Tran lived."
You raised your brow slightly, “And?”
“Well, nothing so far.” Dean admitted to you.
“Guys, we have to find him.” You said in a serious, pressing voice.
“We know. We know. Look, I got off the phone with Garth last night. He’s out looking for him as we speak.” Sam told you the things him and his brother had been up to while you were asleep, hoping all the effort they were putting into would make you feel a little confident about taking your mind off this. “And we’ve got a hunter A.P.B. out on Kevin. Dean and I will do what we can from here. Y/N, you have to sit back and get better.”
“I’m fine.” You said your favorite two words to make them stop being so overbearing. The boys didn’t believe a single word that fell out of your mouth that had to do with how you were feeling at the moment. The dark circles underneath your eyes and sleeping for over twenty-four hours told them a different story. “Guys, I can still go out there. I can still hunt.”
Dean decided to amuse himself with your promise that you were still psychically well enough to put yourself in danger to save yourself or others if put in the line of danger. He wouldn’t take you up on your word alone, he wanted to see you in action. The both of you headed down to the gun range to see how "fine" you were with a loaded weapon in your hand. You rolled your eyes and complained about how unnecessary this was, Dean chuckled at your protests and kept on walking. You had to do the same if you wanted to prove that you were capable of stepping out of the bunker for other than doing the last trial after they found Kevin.
You only had been down to the gun range once or twice since you moved into the bunker to take a peek around the place. It was a standard room for someone to use it as target practice with three different paper targets. You stood next to Dean and crossed your arms over your chest as you watched him check the gun to make sure it was ready before shooting off two rounds, hitting the body perfectly with a fatal shot. You mumbled about how stupid this was once again, Dean got the weapon ready and handed it to you, deciding to make a proposition.
“All right, you hit that target, we’ll talk about you getting back out there.” Dean said.
“No problem.” You said, thinking this was going to be a walk in the park.
It’d been a while since you shot off a round or two, but you took pride in your accuracy at hitting your target where you wanted. You pointed the gun directly at the paper body that was several yards away, but for some reason seemed a little blurry. And your hand felt awfully shaky while holding the gun that seemed to be heavier than you remembered. You had to hold it with both hands to make sure you got a perfect shot like you were planning on. One to the head and the other to the heart in order to prove that you were perfectly okay. You put your finger on the trigger and got yourself ready, aiming the barrel of the gun at your first target...
And missed completely. You felt yourself being jerked back at the slightly at the power from shooting off just one round. You were aiming for the chest, but you only managed to inflict damage on the concrete wall. Your lips stretched into a frown when you realized you missed the target completely. You steadied yourself and tried once again, moving your aim just the slightest, but the kick back from the gun made you hit the opposite side of the wall. You never had an aim that bad. Not even when you were learning how to shoot years ago. Dean felt a sigh escaping his lips at the sight of you he’d never quite seen before.
“Look, sweetheart, this second trial hit you a lot harder than the first one.” Dean said, seeming to come to the conclusion himself without needing your help. You told him everything he needed to know. “I don’t know whether it was just more intense or what.”
“Felt the same.” You admitted to him in a mumbled tone. “...Until the next day.’
“So, we’re gonna sit tight. Keep an eye on things until you feel better.” Dean said. You wanted to roll your eyes in frustration from how he was treating you, but you knew there was no talking him down. Dean tried to make you feel better when he wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you close to his side, along with giving you a quick peck on the forehead from being put on the sidelines. When you felt his fingers rest on your stomach, it seemed his motives were for a different reason “Remember it’s not all about you anymore, Y/N.”
You push your body beyond its limits and there was a chance you could hurt someone besides yourself. You scoffed at the thought. You grabbed the shell from the countertop and twirled the metal between your fingers for a moment before ultimately throwing it to the ground where it would remain for the rest of its days. You headed back to the library to keep yourself busy with some kind of mundane tasks. You couldn't get drunk, you could barely stomach the thought of eating something without getting sick. And the idea of sitting in front of your laptop to watch a bunch of strangers bored you to tears. You wanted to go back to bed if you were being honest, but you already slept for over a day. While you kept yourself busy by once again skimming over the books, your attention was drawn away when you heard the laptop make a noise, notifying you about a new email.
“It’s from Charlie.” Sam stepped forward to see the sender was someone you had only personally met once before, all though made a personal friendship with. You shoved the book back onto the shelf and headed forward at the mention of Charlie Bradbury. You hadn't heard from her in almost two weeks. The both of you texted each other every once in a while to see how things were, and it seemed she was looking to pop her head in. Sam opened up the email and sat himself to read it out loud to you and his brother. “‘In the neighborhood, found you guys a case.’ Found us a case?”
“In the neighborhood?” Dean asked. ‘How the hell does she know where we are?”
“Uh, well, she doesn’t. Not exactly, at least. It says she tracked our cells to a twenty mile radius, then the signal went out.” Sam said. He thought about the technical side of things and how she of all people couldn’t pinpoint any of you. It meant you weren’t safe from not just monsters, but any person who tried to secure your location. “Huh. This place must be in some kind of, like, the Bermuda Triangle.”
“What, are you saying, that we can make and receive phone calls from here and nobody can track us?” You asked. You felt your lips stretch into a smile when Sam nodded his head. “Man, I love this place.”
You wasted no time in hunting down where you last put your phone to text Charlie all about your hideout and the location where she could meet you at. It'd been a while since you got to see the redhead. After all the trials business, she'd be a nice distraction from all things going on lately.

Later in the afternoon, you and the boys stood outside of the bunker, eagerly awaiting Charlie's arrival. You leaned against the trunk of the Impala as you heard the sound of a car's engine making its way forward to you. You felt your lips stretch into a smile at the sight of Charlie's car; a two door pale yellow vehicle that looked like it was something your parents drove back in the seventies. You waved at the red headed when she pulled up to the three of you and parked, your smile grew even wider at the sight of her. She grabbed a messenger bag from the floor and got herself out, slamming the door behind her before making her way over.
“Your highness!” Dean called out to her, greeting Charlie the way she should.
“What’s up, bitches?” Charlie greeted all of you in true Bradbury fashion. Dean chuckled at her humor and pulled the redhead into a tight hug to properly say hello. You slowly pushed yourself up to a standing position as Sam took his turn, bending down so he could give Charlie a proper hug. You opened up your arms and got ready to pull her into your embrace, however, it seemed she was distracted by how different you looked from the last time you saw each other. When your stomach was nothing more than a couple of extra pounds and a little secret that came spilling out of your mouth by accident. “Look at you! You’re all…pregnant and stuff.”
"Yeah. Cat's out of the bag at this point." You said. You chuckled before you finally pulled Charlie into a tight hug, mumbling about how much you missed her. You thought your body was able to handle a simple task as that, but you found yourself exerting more energy than you realized. You slowly pulled away and eased yourself onto the trunk, trying your hardest not to let the pain your body was feeling show too much on your face. Charlie took notice of your behavior that wasn’t anything like she remembered from last seeing you.
“You okay, Y/N?” Charlie asked in a concerned tone of voice.
"Yeah. No, I'm good. Yeah. Just a...pregnancy thing." You lied straight through your teeth to help ease her mind. You didn't let the conversation linger too long on how you were feeling, switching it to the reason why Charlie was in your neck of the woods after so long. "What are you doing in Kansas?"
“Uh, a comic convention, in Topeka.” Charlie said.
“In the middle of the week?” Sam asked her, finding the timing a bit odd.
“Girl's got to get her collectables.” She said. You laughed quietly at her way of thinking. Charlie looked above at the rather imitating and rundown looking building that had been your home for the past few months. She was itching to get a peek inside after you gushed about how amazing it was after you called her and gave an update about your living situation. “So, you gonna invite me into your dungeon, or do I got to answer your questions three first?”
"Follow us. Let us introduce you to the Men of Letters. A legacy learned by their time traveling grandfather.” You said, gesturing a hand to the staircase leading down to the bunker. Charlie's face lit up at the mention of time travel, something that was very much in her interests. "Oh, kid. Have we got a story for you..."
You and Charlie began walking in sync towards the only entrance to the bunker as you told her about the morning that was like any other; you and the boys were getting ready to pack up and hit the road after saying in another motel. It was the standard for hunters. However it was all ruined by a man who mysteriously jumped out of the closet, the part that Charlie cracked up before letting you continue about how it all went down. The stranger was Henry Winchester who somehow appeared in your time from 1958, demanding to know where the boys' father was. You glossed over the demon that followed after him looking for the key to the bunker and lead her to the most marvelous thing of all, the library.
It was the room you and the boys spent the most time in, from doing research and eating meals together, to welcoming your first guest ever in about a solid seven decades. Charlie took in everything there was to offer from the bookshelves twice her height and the objects floating around here that she was itching to touch. You smiled at how her eyes wandered around every inch of the place, looking like you had when you first discovered it for yourself.
“Holy awesome. Too bad they got wiped out, though that is what they get for the sexist name.” Charlie couldn't help herself but say, making you smile at her way of thinking. “So I guess that makes you the first Woman of Letters?”
"I think so. I haven't really found anything that would lead into believing they were big into letting women join them in the fight against monsters." You said, shrugging your shoulders at the title. "Well, anyway, that's our skinny. What about you?"
"Made a deal with the yesteryear weirdos. We're gonna team up to stomp the shadow orcs. And I might have come bearing gifts for a wee little one who isn't here yet." Charlie admitted. You furrowed your brow slightly from what she meant and watched as Charlie bent down in her seat to pull something out from her bag. She placed a wrapped box on the table and pushed it over to you and Dean. You gave her a curious as you reached out and pulled it close to you, wondering what it was. "I'm not sure what you're having, but every future nerd must have these essentials."
You delicately ripped through the paper Charlie must have spent time trying to make sure was perfect from how neatly wrapped it was. You lifted off the top of the box and pushed the wrapping paper to see what the gift was for your unborn child. You felt your lips stretch into a smile as your eyes grew wide at what you saw. "Oh my God, Charlie! You didn't!"
“What did she do?” Dean asked, feeling out of the loop from how excited you suddenly were.
You lifted up the small handmade outfit that was intended for a baby that looked an awful lot like the one you wore back at the festival, it even had the patch to symbolize what kingdom their parents were fighting for. Your child was going to be an honorary part of the royal family. "I guesstimated how old baby Winchester-Y/L/N would be for the midyear jubilee. I mean, if you can't come, I can totally understand. You’re gonna have your hands full soon.”
"It's so tiny." You mumbled to yourself. You found yourself taken aback at the first outfit you had for the baby, which made you realize how unprepared you were for the impending birth. You had nothing. No crib, not even the nursery picked out yet. You found yourself drifting deep until your thoughts for a few seconds until you felt someone's gaze lingering on you. You quickly looked up to see Charlie staring at you, wondering where you went. "Of course. Nothing would stop us from helping our queen. Let's see, I'm due in August...so the baby should be four months. I don’t see why we can’t make it a family outing.”
"I didn't realize how tiny babies are..." Dean said. You handed him the outfit to inspect it for himself, which caused him to send him spiraling down into giddiness. He felt his lips stretch into a smile at how adorable it was. The onesie that came with footed legs, perfect for the little baby he was going to be able to hold. Dean held it up to help inspect it better. “This is awesome.”
"Thank you, Charlie." You said. "For giving us the first of many outfits."
"Wait, you haven't gotten on that stuff yet?" Charlie asked. "I mean, I don't know the first thing about being a parent, but isn't clothes and stuff kind of important?"
“We’ve been...busy with other stuff. I’ve been stockpiling and acting like crazy on baby stuff every chance I can get. It’s gonna hurt when we have to order everything.” You said, telling her what your game plan was for the moment. You peeked into the box to see if there was anything else, your eyes spotted a book. You felt your lips stretching into a faint smile at the title, The Hobbit. “Huh. You want our kid to be extra nerdy?”
“It’s one of my favorite books. An essential for every future geek. I was thinking when they get older you can read to them. Or you can even read to them now.” Charlie said. “I think I read somewhere that babies can identify the mother’s voice in the womb.”
“I’ll get on top of that. I always loved it when my mom read to me.” You said. Charlie’s expression faltered every so slightly at the mention of your mother, a twinge of sadness it seemed before it disappeared without you noticing. “This kid's gonna have an endless supply of books, that’s for sure. Thank you, Charlie. This means a lot. Now, what about this case you brought us?”
"When I was in Topeka, I saw this pop up over the wire. Tom Blake, a checkout clerk in Salina who went missing on his way home from work—he was found dead yesterday. His insides liquefied." Charlie told you about the case that sounded interesting enough to hold your attention to learn more. She bent down to grab her tablet from her bag to pull up the coroner's report to remember the specific details. Not only did it sound like you had a case, Charlie even crossed a few possible suspects off the list. "Locals have no idea what happened, they tried to bury the report so people wouldn't freak, but I flagged it. I have eliminated the following things that go bump in the night."
“Wait a second.” Sam stopped the red head from going on anymore about this case, too caught up with how professional she was being. Last time she was involved with the supernatural she was ready to run for the hills and never look back. Now she was doing her own thorough research and seeking out the monster. "When did you become such an expert?"
"Well, after you guys left, I dug into all things monsters. I'm a wee bit obsessive. If 'wee bit' means completely." Charlie admitted. You couldn't help yourself but laugh quietly at her behavior that was a lot like yours when you first learned about the supernatural. Once the initial shock wore off, you wanted to know everything about it. However it seemed Charlie discovered things you wished stayed buried deep underground where it would never see the light of day. "I also found this series of books by Carver Edlund?"
Your laughing immediately stopped at the mention of a name you hadn't heard in four years. A name you would never forget for its infamous purpose behind it. You let out a sigh and rolled your eyes in anger at those stupid books that always seemed to haunt you. "Oh, God."
"Did those books really happen?" Charlie couldn't help herself but ask out of curiosity, your reaction fueled her desire even more. You and the boys exchanged an awkward glance before your gaze wandered elsewhere. Charlie seemed to have gotten the hint the books were very much real. And something nobody liked to talk about. "Wow. That is some meta-madness. Thanks for saving the world and stuff. Sorry you have zero luck with the ladies, Sam."
“Wha—” Sam gave her a confused look as to what she meant by that, you had to stifle a laugh at the truth nobody seemed to say out loud until now. You didn’t want to believe all of Sam’s lovers ended up with a bloody fate. There was the occasional one who got a way. But it was a loss in a different kind of way. Either way, Sam wanted his personal history erased from the face of the Earth. "We need to find every single copy of those books and burn them."
"They're online now, so good luck with that." Charlie said, bursting the man's bubble.
“Awesome. Well, you two crazy kids deal with that. Sam and I will go see if there’s anything to this case of yours.” Dean said, getting himself up from the table and heading out of the library to get started on this hunt without you. As if that was going to happen.
“I’m coming with you.” You said. You pushed yourself out from the chair and got up, only doing it a little faster than your body anticipated when you suddenly felt your knees nearly give out underneath your weight. You were hit with a dizzy spell that made you stumble slightly, Charlie managed to leap out of her own chair before you could fall to the ground. You brushed off everyone's concern and stood up a little straighter, trying to act like you were perfectly fine.
“Whoa. Are you sure you’re okay?” Charlie asked in a worried tone of voice. You scoffed and tried to say once again you were, but the lie you were trying to tell yourself wasn’t flying with the boys. Your sleeping patterns alone told them something bad was going on.
“No. You’re taking a knee as long as you’re off your game.” Dean told you once and for all how it was going to be. You crossed your arms over your chest and tried to defend yourself, but you were late to the draw when someone else spoke up.
“I’ll go with you.” Charlie rushed out her offer, eager to take your place.
“Look, no disrespect,” Dean hated to be the one to burst Charlie’s idea of tagging on a hunt and learning things with first hand experience. “but there is a big difference between reading about hunting and actually hunting.”
"I'm coming with." Charlie said, her tone of voice making it clear she wasn't going to back down on this. "Besides, Sam can watch Y/N while we work this thing. If there was one critique about the books, it was that there wasn't enough Y/N and Sam moments."
"Charlie, what you read in those books are—what the hell am I saying?" Dean tried to somehow talk down her from going along, but the more he spoke, the more he realized that those books were real life. She read about the horrors. It wouldn't hurt to have a brainiac around to help with the research. But it only left one problem, you. Dean didn't want to leave you alone, knowing much of a flight risk you were. "What, do you say, man? Watch over Y/N and I’ll take this one on a ride along?”
Sam shrugged his shoulders in agreement while you rolled your eyes in frustration. Charlie tried her hardest not to let the smile of happiness cross her face at what was happening. If she wanted to participate in the hunt, she was allowed to. Only if she could prove that she was capable of defending herself if things went south on this. Dean thought Charlie was going to be nervous at holding a loaded gun when given one after he took her down to the shooting range. But she proved that it wasn’t just lore she got memorized. Charlie shot off two rounds—both perfect headshots. Dean wasn’t sure if she should be proud at what she accomplished. Or a little bit worried at dragging her more into this lifestyle.
Charlie, however, took her accomplishment with a smug look. She was proud of herself at the growth she accomplished in the past couple of months. She proved herself that she was more than capable of being his hunting partner. Dean let out a heavy sigh, his way of showing that she had beat him down. Charlie might have gave him no excuse. But the deal came with a few rules she was going to have to follow.
“All right, if you’re gonna do a ride-along, then, uh…” Dean waved a finger at her outfit which consisted of a zip-up hoodie and a blue t-shirt. Perfect for the everyday nerd. Not good for the FBI agent she was going to have to pretend to be. “You got to lose the novelty t-shirts.”
Charlie glanced down at her shirt and let out a sigh, “Son of a pantsuit.”
+ + +
There were two important things every hunter needed when it came to breaking the law and posing as a federal agent; a fake badge that consisted of Charlie staring blankly into the camera in the photobooth in the middle of the mall before wasting the rest of the shots with goofy faces. While Dean cut out the photo and stuck it into one of the many badges he had lying around, the next step was the outfit. Charlie took the opportunity to go over the top. While Dean told her slacks and a blazer would have been the perfect thing to look for, he found himself sitting on the couch right next to the dressing room while she had the time of her life changing outfits to see if she could bend the rules a little. All while that awful "Walking on Sunshine" played from her phone as background music to help the mood.
Charlie's first look was a sleeveless dress and heels, perfect for going out on a date. Not good enough when you're interviewing the medical examiner. Dean shook his head, sending her back to the dressing room. The next outfit was an odd combination of a yellow blazer with a white shirt tucked into a pair of blue sweats. Charlie tried to sell the look when she started posing, Dean smiled and pretended for a second she could get away with it. The smile lasted on her face for a whole second before he shook his head. Charlie managed to go through three more outfits before Dean had enough of hearing the song loop through five times before he grabbed the phone and paused the music. Charlie pouted slightly in sadness when the mood was ruined.
“Montage.” She mumbled, Dean gave her a look to stop fooling around and get serious.
Charlie sulked back into the dressing room to put on the respectable pantsuit and heels that got the Dean Winchester wink and thumbs up. While Charlie lived her real life shopping montage, Dean told her about the things all of you had been up to. And why you weren't yourself. He told her about the burden you took on all by yourself, defying orders from Sam to stay out of it because of the pregnancy. But nothing was going to stop you from getting everything you want.
“Trials? That’s never good.” Charlie said. She stepped over to the mirror to tuck in her white button up and smoothed it out to make sure there wasn’t any visible wrinkles. "But I guess it makes sense for her wanting to do it. Considering the things she went through...her life reads like 'Rosemary's Baby.' Down to Guy selling out Rosemary to those satanists. No offense.”
“Yeah. I guess.” Dean mumbled. He tucked Charlie’s fake badge into the wallet to make it all official. “It doesn’t help that our prophet’s in the wind.”
“What about Castiel?” Charlie asked, curious about the angel she read about. “He seems helpful and dreamy.”
"He's M.I.A., with a tablet of his own doing God knows what. I mean, to be honest, this whole thing is...Y/N is tough as nails. She’s been through the ringer plenty of times. But Cas was saying that these trials were messing with her in ways that even he can't heal." Dean told her more about the situation. Hearing about the health toll that it was taking on your body made Charlie's face drop in concern not only for you, but the little creature growing in your body. "Everything's okay with the baby. So far."
"Oh. Well, that's good." Charlie said, feeling herself breathe a little easier. However the look that settled on Dean's face told a bit of a different story. "Right?"
"I...It'd be one thing if Sam or I were doing them, but Y/N's pregnant. And I think she forgets that sometimes.  I can't help but think..." Dean never let himself think about the worst case scenario that made his stomach feel weak. He never discussed these things. Not with you, not even with Sam. "If something happened to either one of them...I'd have no one to blame but myself. It was supposed to be me who did the trials. Not her."
"If it's any constellation, having read your history. There is pretty much nothing Y/N and the Winchesters can't do if they work together." Charlie tried to give him some sort of heartfelt pep talk to make him feel better. Dean managed to mumble a thanks. "Must be nice having such an awesome girlfriend and brother, someone to always watch your back.”
"Yeah. What about you? Any luck with getting yourself a nerdy girlfriend?" Dean curiously asked, eager to change the subject off of him. "Any brothers or sisters of your own?"
"Sadly, it's been slow in the love department. But speaking of siblings, I have two.” Charlie said. She turned back around in the mirror to play with her hair, fluffing out her bangs. "Their names are Xbox and PS3."
“Surprisingly, I wouldn’t expect anything less. Hey, I’m not getting any reception. Can I use your phone?” Dean asked her after checking to see there was no bars to make a check up, Charlie nodded her head. He bent down to grab it and put your phone number in. The phone rang twice before he heard your voice. “Hey. It’s me. You okay?”
"Yes, Dean, I'm still fine." You said, once again. "Look, I can hunt—"
“Well, let the healing continue.” Dean cut you off before you could try and talk your way into this case. “ I’ll check in with you and Sam later.”
You let out a frustrated sigh when you heard the other line go head after Dean said his goodbyes. You placed your phone back down on the countertop and reached for the gun. After forcing yourself to eat lunch Sam had made you earlier, you decided to head down to the shooting range to practice your aim. You were probably just dizzy from the lack of food in your stomach. All though your loose grip around the gun was telling you a different story. You forced yourself to tighten your fingers around the metal and held up the weapon directly at your target.
You inhaled a breath and aimed for the chest like you did last time, using all of your energy to do so. You fired off one round, instead of hitting the wall, you managed to put one into the paper target. Just nowhere near the person. You shot off one more round, this time, you were just centimeters from hitting your target. You placed down the gun and smiled slightly at your accomplishment. It was close enough of a victory and an improvement from this time. While you had gotten your aim better, there was still one more obstacle standing in your way; the six-foot four brother who was in charge of babysitting you.

[The Ocular - Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers OST]
Sitri tried to calm herself as Sothis powered three floating crystals in front of her.
They were alone in the Listening chamber, but it was still somewhat nerve-wracking to call the world leaders everytime.
She looked down in slight disappointment of herself. What would Byleth have done...?
(Sothis) “You shouldn’t compare yourself to him, you know.”
Sitri sighed in response.
(Sitri) “Right. I forget you can hear my thoughts...”
(Sothis) “He forgot all the time too, so it isn’t just you. And more importantly, just because you’ve taken his mantle does not mean you have to be exactly him.”
She unsheathed the Sword of the Creator, and it faintly glowed and hummed with her touch.
(Sothis) “The circumstances are completely different and the world has changed, for better and worse. You will be a worthy successor. I promise.”
(Sitri) “...Thank you.”
(Sothis) “We can discuss the rest of this later, for now...”
Sothis snapped her fingers and the crystals sprung to life, radiating a bright blue aura as transparent images of the world leaders began to form.
(Edelgard) “Connection is established here.”
(Dimitri) “Mine as well.”
(Claude) “Eh, pretty sure it’s working. Sitri!”
(Sitri) “Hello, everyone.”
Sitri bowed before clearing her throat.
(Sitri) “Emperor Edelgard, King Dimit-”
(Dimitri) “You do not have to be so formal around us, you know.”
(Claude) “Yeah, you can drop it if it's just us."
(Edelgard) “Hmph. Some professionalism wouldn’t-”
(Dimitri) “Time and place for all things. Now apologies, I did not mean to interrupt.”
Sitri sighed in relief as her shoulders began to relax and she put her hand to her chest.
(Sitri) “In that case, my top students have investigated the Zanado Tower at your request. There were some skirmishes, but nothing serious. We also have found groups from other worlds present. None of which we are familiar with.”
Sothis floated next to her and crossed her arms.
(Sothis) “We called in help from the original House Isekai, but so far only four have responded. Rean, Towa, Kazuma, and Aigis."
(Dimitri) "That is a bit...troubling. I figured more would have come to our request."
(Edelgard) "Troubling, but not surprising. They do have to worry about their own world's well being again after all."
(Claude) "We should be grateful they showed up to begin with. But anyways, there's probably a bit more to the story right?"
Sitri nodded and told the three what had happened inside the Zanado Tower: meeting the new groups and the creatures that had attacked them.
(Sitri) "-...And it seems at least one group is aware of what they are. We plan to hunt them down ourselves, and reinstate House Isekai while doing so."
The three leaders looked surprised after hearing her plan.
(Edelgard) "Hm...An interesting proposal."
(Claude) "A second generation, eh? How are the kids handling the news?"
(Sothis) "So far, we have only selected a handful of the very best the three houses have had to offer. Their reactions are...mixed to say the least."
Dimitri furrowed his brows as he crossed his arms.
(Dimitri) "After what happened during the original's time here, I cannot blame them."
(Edelgard) "Indeed. We are the only ones who know the truth, besides our militaries."
(Sitri) "Despite their problems, I have full confidence that they will come around in time. As head of Garreg Mach, I will see to that myself."
(Claude) "Of that, we have no doubt, Sitri. I am more concerned with how everyone else will take this news..."
Claude sighed as he shook his head.
(Claude) "We're already having problems with getting our people to work together as it is, doubt this is gonna make things any easier."
(Edelgard) "And it is something we will deal with ourselves. Sitri has an important task, and we do not have the luxury of time to drop our political problems on her."
(Sitri) "Worry not, I will make sure everyone is kept in line during their time at Garreg Mach."
(Dimitri) "Then we will pray for your success. We are counting on you."
Dimitri and Edelgard's figure disappeared while Claude remained visible.
(Sothis) "Is something the matter?"
(Claude) "...I think I know how to start this reformation off right..."

Through the Maelstrom
[Raise Your Flag - MAN WITH A MISSION]
Raise your flag
With all your voice
With all your voice
Shout it out loud with all your voice
One day
Someday somewhere
Dream on as we wander
Under pressure, you are waiting for direction
Going on the road without your mind
All misleads they give ignoring our decisions
Killing yourself your soul we have inside
Continue the struggle and feel like you're discouraged
Rise up again to run to the end
In between the never-ending dream
We can struggle and muzzle the world before it fades away
Raise your flag
With all your voice
With all your voice
Shout it out loud with all your voice
One day
Someday somewhere
Believing that we will reach that goal
Come on and Raise your flag
So just Raise your flag
No matter how many times we feel defeated or lost
As long as we breathe
As long as we carry on
Dream on as we wander
Chapter 1
One day after the events of Part 1...
[Life at Garreg Mach Monastery - Fire Emblem: Three Houses OST]
Mercedes, Recette, and Tear walked through the hallways of the main building as the bell rang across the Monastery.
Tear was hovering next to Recette looking at a clipboard and looking up at Mercedes.
(Tear) "Let's see, we are to accommodate new student dormitories, supplies, and equipment?"
(Mercedes) "That would be correct."
=====
(Recette) "So what do we do about the giant robot things?"
(Tear) "Knights, Recette. They are called Knights."
(Recette) "But we already have the regular guards called Knights too! Why do we have such confusing terminology?!"
(Mercedes) "Technically speaking, they are Armiger class knights. The real knights we have belong to our military and-"
(Tear) "Regardless, they are to be moved to the new dorm, correct?"
Mercedes giggled seeing Tear obviously annoyed.
(Mercedes) "Apologies, I am only teasing! Yes, they will be."
The three walked down the stairs as a mixture of students and guards passed them by.
After waiting for them to pass, they made their way towards the student dorms.
(Recette) "So...what is House Isekai like?"
(Tear) "I have been rather curious myself. Sitri speaks of them in high regard, as do you."
Mercedes looked up to the skies, reminiscing her time with the original House Isekai.
(Mercedes) "They were quite the odd group of people, of all sorts of origins and personalities. Many of their technologies and fighting styles varied wildly, some familiar to us while some were...well, otherworldly."
She had a smile on her face, though there was a tinge of sadness to it.
(Mercedes) "They weren't always the kindest, charming or...well, even the best people but...they cared for us and Fodlan. Even when some of their own perished, they continued to fight for us. I wish the circumstances of our meeting had not been so tragic..."
Recette and Tear remained silent as Mercedes had stopped walking, still staring into the skies.
(Mercedes) "...Oh, pardon me! I was spacing out, let us keep moving!"
...
Astrid was the last person to walk into the group.
The chosen Garreg Mach students were waiting near their rooms with bags in hand.
(Astrid) "Oh crap, are we already going?!"
(Kairos) "They let us know last night, did you already forget?"
(Helena) "Obviously."
Astrid stuffed the food she was carrying into her mouth as she dashed into her room, hastily grabbing her belongings.
(Elizabeth) "It amazes me how airheaded she can be..."
(Stefan) "Being honest, I almost did the same thing..."
(Elizabeth) sigh "Of course you did. We cannot afford to slipping up like this! We are supposed to represent our classes as the best of the best!"
Helena shrugged nonchalantly.
(Helena) "Think that's just you. Everyone knows how I act and yet I'm here."
(Elizabeth) "Yes yes dear, we know you just nap away all the ti-"
(Kairos) "Gods above, can you quit your whining?"
(Elizabeth) "When you all get your act together, then I will!"
Kairos and Elizabeth stepped toward each other, and before their argument could heat up, Stefan stepped in.
(Stefan) "Come on guys, knock it off."
Astrid ran back out with her bags hastily strapped over her back, completely out of breath.
(Astrid) "Whew, made it!"
(Helena) "Good job."
Helena rolled her eyes hearing Kairos and Elizabeth's shouting get louder, and saw Mercedes, Recettte, and Tear approaching them.
(Mercedes) "Afternoon! Is something the matter?"
Kairos and Elizabeth finally backed down and cleared their throats.
(Stefan) "Not anymore."
(Recette) "Yayness! Now, let's get going!"
(Tear) "Right this way."
The group began to move towards the former Cathedral, Mercedes in front.
The Cathedral turned into a hangar for the Knights to walk in and out of, alongside receiving and shipping supplies provided by the three nations.
Mercedes frowned a little upon arriving. She had honestly never gotten used to being around these things. They went from mere prototypes to deployed all over the continent in only a year.
Something wasn't right about all of this technology they had been getting either...
Her daydream was interrupted when a guard cleared their throat.
(Imperial Knight) "Ma'am?"
(Mercedes) "Oh, sorry. We are here to check in with the new arrivals."
(Imperial Knight) "Understood. You'll find them in the war room."
...
[Spider Web - Fire Emblem: Three Houses OST]
Rean looked around the room, barely able to recognize it.
This room was previously dedicated to the four saints during his time in Fodlan, now it was converted to some kind of information center.
There was a table made of crystal in the middle, displaying all sorts of semi-transparent text and images.
Towa appeared to be thinking the same thing as she was unable to tear her eyes off the table.
Rean sighed and finally turned behind him, the students of Class VII all looking around as well.
(Rean) "What are you guys doing here?"
His question caught their attention, making everyone turn to face him.
(Juna) "Us? What about you and Instructor Towa?! You guys are acting as if this is all normal!"
(Altina) "Observations have shown that you have reacted with little surprise."
(Towa) "Well, to make a long story short, we have been here before under some...strange circumstances. But how did you guys even get in here?"
(Ash) "Valimar let us in that portal or whatever the hell you guys walked through."
(Rean) "He what?!"
Rean had to calm down for a moment, and sighed again.
(Rean) "Guess I'll be speaking to him about tha-...Wait..."
(Kurt) "Instructor?"
(Rean) "When Valimar teleported us in, we all arrived at the top of the Tower. Why were you all teleported at the bottom...?"
(Musse) "Huh. That's weird."
(Towa) "There shouldn't be anything messing with the Tower from Fodlan's end, right?"
(Rean) "Hard to say, honestly. If those other groups got here, then something must be wrong."
(Kurt) "...Instructor, if I may?"
(Rean) "Hm? Go ahead, Kurt."
(Kurt) "I wish to accompany you here."
(Everyone) ?!
(Rean) "No. Out of the question. You all need to-"
(Juna) "Hey, you're our instructor, right? Then that means you have to watch over us, not go into some weird freaking dimension for goddess knows how long!"
(Ash) "Besides, we'd miss all the fun!"
(Musse) "And you, Instructor~-"
(Altina) "And potential training that could enhance our abilities."
(Rean) "..."
(Towa) "Well, time is very unpredictable here. The last time we were stuck here, only a few minutes passed by in our world while years went by in here. Who knows what could happen this time?"
Rean silently stared at Class VII, not knowing what to do.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
(Kingdom Knight) "Pardon sir, Mercedes is here."
(Rean) "Let her through."
Mercedes opened the door and her group came in, Class VII stepping aside to make room.
(Mercedes) "Good afternoon, everyone!"
(Towa) "Hello, Mercedes!"
(Rean) "I see you got the students and...who's that?"
Recette and Tear stepped forward, Recette excitedly waving as Tear adjusted her glasses as she floated next to her.
(Recette) "Hiya! I'm Recette, and that's Tear! We run a shop and helping fund Garreg Mach's reconstruction!"
Class VII looked at each other awkwardly, not sure how to make of that. She looked even younger than Altina, how could she run a shop?
(Kairos) "Trust us, she's telling the truth. We thought the exact same thing when we first met them."
(Kurt) "...Noted."
(Tear) "I am her...friend. It is a pleasure to meet members of House Isekai. I have been told many things about you all."
(Recette) "We'll have everyone's new dorms up soon and a lot of information to share, but we wanna get everyone together first! Do you know where your friends are?"
(Rean) "They're downstairs I think. At least that's what Aigis told us."
(Towa) "The tomb?"
(Mercedes) "Ah yes, that is where we have our new supply depot. Any excess supplies that cannot be brought up are taken down below, alongside extra knight suits."
(Tear) "It would be best to reunite with your friends before we continue talking. I am sure you all have many questions."
Class VII followed the group out, and went down the stairs and into the depot.
...
Workers moved back and forth, carrying varying sizes of crates into organized areas, with Knights being brought in by horseback on giant wooden platforms.
Knight suits were also moving around massive cargo filled with all kinds of armor and weapons, the sound of gears moving and workers shouting.
Kazuma still struggled to process everything he was seeing.
(Kazuma) "Where the hell was all this when we were travelling around Fodlan?!"
(Aigis) "They most likely developed this while we were away. While some aspects of their technology is primitive compared to ours, we cannot deny the amount of progress since we last saw them."
(Kazuma) "Primitive? They have giant god damn robots! That's WAY more than what Earth has!"
Kazuma turned to the other groups who were not standing too far away.
(Kazuma) "And speaking of..."
Kazuma and Aigis looked at the group of soldiers who called themselves ODST's.
Their weapons appeared to use conventional bullets, but their armor was far more advanced than the military had on Earth during their time.
One ODST named "Mickey" was doing something to his helmet, repeatedly tapping its side.
(Buck) "Anything?"
(Mickey) "Not a single thing. No comms, not from UNSC or Covenant. Whatever's going on here, it's completely cut us off from our world."
(Romeo) "That's just great..."
(Dutch) "How do we get back?"
(Mickey) "I'm thinking..."
(Kazuma) "...Feels weird having actual soldiers here."
(Aigis) "Agreed. We are lucky to have been accustomed to Fodlan during our last stay."
Aigis turned her attention to the one soldier in massive yelllow armor, quietly watching everything around him.
(Raelyn) "..."
(Aigis) "I am unfamiliar with him. He appears to be aware of Earth and humanity, but what he is wearing is both extremely advanced and archaic, technologically speaking."
(Kazuma) "Is he even human? Dude looks like a gorilla in ceramite."
(Aigis) "Further data is required to make a proper assessment."
Aigis's eyes glanced over to Duvalie, who was pacing back and forth near the last group, calling themselves the "Knights of Favonius".
Aigis couldn't tell what she was saying, but she definitely knew she was cursing under her breath. She didn't seem terribly confused about what was happening, but it seemed like her appearance here was more like a major inconvenience.
Of all groups however, the Knights of Favonius appeared to be the least phased.
(Jean) "Hopefully the knights will be fine without us..."
(Lisa) "Relax dear, they'll be okay. I doubt too much will happen, we have people like Albedo in their care."
(Amber) "Is anyone gonna be watching over Klee?"
Jean suddenly grew pale.
(Kaeya) "Easy now Amber, don't give her a heart attack."
(Diluc) "We can't leave anyway. Abyss Mages got to this world and it's our job to get rid of them."
(Venti) "Yeah, whatever their plans are, we're gonna stop them!"
(Kazuma) "...Least someone knows what the hell those things were."
Aigis was about to say more until she saw Mercedes and the others walking down the stairs.
(Aigis) "They are here, Kazuma."
(Kazuma) "About time."
Kazuma whistled and caught the groups' attention, everyone going up to meet them.
(Rean) "Everyone here?"
(Jean) "It appears so."
(Buck) "Anyone gonna bother to explain what in the hell's goin' on here?"
(Towa) "Well to put it shortly: you've all come from your worlds to Fodlan, just like we have."
(Duvalie) "Why was it US, though?"
(Kazuma) "Hell if we know. To be honest, our groups showed up here by pure chance."
(Aigis) "There was no clear reason for us, but I suspect something may be different in your cases."
(Buck) "How long are we going to be here? We were in the middle of fighting a war back home!"
(Rean) "That's...not easy to answer. We were technically here for 6 years, yet only a few minutes passed in my world."
Many of the members looked at each other, unsure of how to process this news.
(Mercedes) "Whatever the case, we'll make sure everyone gets back! You're all part of House Isekai now!"
(Lisa) "Might I ask what this "House Isekai" means to this world? It seems very obvious that this title is held in high regard."
(Kairos) "To some anyway..."
(Stefan) "C-Come on now, Kairos. We can at least give them a chance!"
Rean made a mental note to ask Mercedes about the students later. They obviously did not like House Isekai's presence.
He was getting some unpleasant flashbacks to when his country occupied another, with similar reactions.
(Towa) *ahem* House Isekai was formed under Garreg Mach Monastery as a way to unite everyone from different worlds. The original House had people from all sorts of backgrounds working together, and we saved this world and ours from certain destruction."
(Kurt) "Had it not been for us visiting here, I am not sure we would have believed any of this."
(Aigis) "...If memory serves correctly, you and the other members of Class VII were involved during the Towers forming in every world."
(Juna) "Uhh...Think we would've remembered something like that happening."
(Ash) "Doesn't ring a bell."
(Towa) "We came face to face with them during the assault on the Zanado Tower. What...?-"
(Duvalie) "Bah, history lesson later! What are we even doing down here anyway?"
(Mercedes) "Well, we came down here to inform you that your dorms were soon to be finished!"
(Tear) "We only ask for a bit more patience. The transfer of resources to these new rooms was quite sudden."
(Elizabeth) "And what are we to do in the meantime?"
(Sitri's Voice) "Your first assignment."
Sitri walked up to the group, holding her sword's sheathe.
(Sitri) "Our first assignment has been given to us by Claude."
She turned to the Knights of Favonius.
(Sitri) "You said that you were familiar with the creatures invading our world, yes?"
(Diluc) "Abyss Mages. They were supposed to be our problem, so sorry that you all had to get involved."
(Raelyn) "If they are a threat to humanity, then it is our job to purge these witches."
(Sitri) "Claude has given us a report from House Goneril and House Edmund that these creatures and other objects were spotted within their territories. It is our job as House Isekai to take care of this offworld threat."
(Kazuma) "From classroom to full on hit squad, eh? Guess that was bound to happen at some point."
(Rean) "Not the first time anyway..."
(Duvalie) "OOOOH, NO."
Everyone turned to Duvalie.
(Duvalie) "I am NOT working with you all! I am perfectly fine of doing this on my own!"
(Ash) "Psh. Feeling's mutual."
(Rean) "Come on now, this is something you can't tackle alone. Even you."
(Duvalie) "S-SHUT UP, SCHWARZER!"
She stomped towards Sitri and grabbed a letter at random, pointing a finger at her.
(Duvalie) "I'll cooperate but you will NOT make me work with them! I'll be done with this faster than a big group!"
(Jean) "...Being fair for just a moment, it would be beneficial for some of our members to split up. The threats could be eliminated faster."
(Venti) "I'd be happy to help out with-"
(Duvalie) "NO. DEFINITELY NOT YOU."
(Kazuma) "Holy hell, would you quit whining?! Why does every person I meet that calls themselves a knight always act so entitled?"
(Helena) "I'm very sure that will get her calmed down."
Duvalie looked like she was about to pop a vein before Buck stepped in.
(Buck) "Alright everyone, stand down. How about this? You just tell us what we need to know about these guys, and we'll go put a few bullets in their heads."
(Mickey) "If bullets even work on them-"
(Raelyn) "From the one I encountered, a single Bolter round will do just fine."
(Lisa) "If it means less fighting, then there's no harm. Duvalie dear, do be careful at least?"
(Duvalie) "O-Of course, Miss Lisa!"
(Aigis) "That was a very fast change in attitude-"
(Rean) "You get used to it."
(Towa) "I suppose we'll just meet and explain everything more in detail later?"
A portal opened up behind Duvalie and she jumped straight through before anyone could stop her.
(Buck) "Tch, damn it. Didn't even ask about the mages. Whatever, which one of you knows the most about them?"
Kaeya raised his hand with a coy smile while Diluc nodded.
(Raelyn) "I will accompany her to ensure their survival. Until then, House Isekai."
Raelyn turned to the portal and walked through it.
After getting the minimum knowledge required about the Abyss Mages, Buck and his squad followed her through the portal.
(Kazuma) "...Wait a second, none of them knows anything about Fodlan. Why did we let them go anywhere alone?"
(Sitri) "...That's a good question."
