the problem with many newbie feminists today is that many of them do not want to tear down the patriarchy. unfortunately Tear Down the Patriarchy is the whole point of feminism. but you tell them this and they get mad.

#angel posts #cant stop thinking about how many women just want patriarchy to be comfortable #and THAT comes from sooooooo many different lines of thinking #and different places #but a lot of (esp cishet) people cannot FATHOM #a world where there is no gender hierarchy #we live in such a binary world that you say men shouldnt be on top #and people hear women SHOULD #which isnt the case at all #no gender should be on top we made this up #but people have been taught and absorbed so much bullshit #pseudoscience about the natural world and nonexistent binaries and Certain Religions #and so many oft he harms of patriarhcy have been invisibilized #that to a lot of people #even women!#the idea of women being In Charge is repulsive #men naturally automatically find it vile theyve never been seriously challenged before akjshdfklajsfd #but suddenly they understand how oppression works bc they think a matriarchy would be a 1:1 reflection of patriarchy #and again w the bioessentialism people think having been in pain means you wont inflict it #and that women are incapable of hurting other women #idr where i was going w this
