A few weeks ago, there was this guy on discord who I was friends with for about two months, and we were pretty close. We’ll call him William for this. He read my fanfics, I listened to the music he made, etc. One thing you need to know for context? He vented. A LOT. Which isn’t a problem in itself, but in this situation…

Anyways, we both decided we were questioning if we liked the other, and we were gonna be honest while figuring this stuff out. At which point, he would dm me almost NONSTOP throughout the course of the day. I couldn’t always respond, of course, which made me feel bad. He was usually sweet about it. But the amount of times he messaged me (we’re talking 100-200 DMs a day, even when I wasn’t responding, and most of those were vents), it was stressing me out a LOT. I have really bad anxiety, and I had other things going on my life at that point. So in a mutual server, I made a ping to my friends (including him) that I was going to be offline for a day or two due to mental health reasons. The majority of my friends were really sweet and understanding, told me to take my time. But William just spammed me more.

He accused me of not pinging him about the situation but pinging everyone else (which, I made sure he was included in the role I was pinging; if he wasn’t, I didn’t know, but he shouldn’t have gotten angry so fast), and he was really mad. He continued to constantly vent about our relationship, still messaging 100-200+ times a day, even though I said I was on break. Eventually he asked if I wanted him to ignore me, to which I finally responded with a “no”. I learned later that he was really asking me if I wanted him to give me space, AND the reason he kept spamming me is because he thought that, because we were considering dating, I’d still respond to him, even if I wasn’t to other people. Which is fair, I guess. But… 100-200 messages or more, every day, most of which are vents when I’ve already said I’m going on a break because of a depressive episode…?

And THEN. After I had come back from my break, I told William that I was so sorry but I didn’t think I could handle an online romantic relationship with him. I told him I was going to go offline for a few minutes after saying that because I was a coward (I literally said THAT; keep in mind, I’ve never been in a relationship before. I know what I did probably wasn’t the best way to handle that, but… He’d been saying some things that were kind of obsessive while I was on break.) When I came back, he’d completely flipped out, said some things that sounded downright obsessive, and I didn’t respond because he was scaring me, and then said he was going to (tw) unalive himself if I didn’t respond.

At that point, I’d also checked his messages on a mutual server, where he’d been talking with one of my friends who I’d introduced him to a week or two ago. We’ll call this friend Stella. Stella messaged me and sent me some screenshots of what had happened between them and William after I left… and here’s where I learned who he really was. He called them some nasty things (some slurs), accused them of turning me against him, and later said he’d done it just because he knew it would cross my boundaries to insult one of my closest friends. So, of course… I sent one last message to him, telling him to call the su!c!de hotline and that I was so sorry, and blocked him.

Aaand then the online friends I had who he also sent crappy things to made a spam account and talked with him like a friend- there’s more to the story but this is already WAY too long and I have no idea how to use Tumblr TvT

Hey! This is a canon call, mainly for my Vox and Husk kin timelines. Looking into any non-anti friends that like Hazbin/Helluva too! 18+ only, as I'm an adult myself.

For Vox, I was autistic and in a relationship with Val and Velvette both. Me and Val were more close, but Velvette joined us a fair amount. We were still open to others too, and there were several unnamed demons that joined our polycule for either just intimacy or on dates. Velvette liked coaching Val and I, in the bedroom and otherwise. I don't want to get too nsfw, so I hope that's good. (If you message we can talk the other stuff too)

For Husk, I have less memories, but I know Angel and I were just beginning our relationship. There were a few times where after everyone went to bed, she and I would dance in the lobby of the hotel to music quietly playing on a nearby radio. We are together a lot, and have been talking more and more about the idea of getting away from our captors. She said she'd even leave the hotel if needed. She's also a trans woman, if that helps. I'm not as close with the other hotel group, Charlie and Vaggie are cordial enough but treat me much more 'staff' like. Niffty is basically the same. We bond over being trapped by Alastor, but she likes it. Says it helps her wanting 'bad boys to keep her hostage' or something. I don't talk to Alastor unless I have to.

hmmmm many thoughts about cc!ranboo right now

gonna preface this by saying that ranboo is one of my favorite if not my favorite ccs atm and that i really respect what he's done and am very proud of how much he's grown over the past nine or so months

that being said. i cannot stand the amount of hypocrisy that this man has in his frigid cold takes about how lore works on the smp

ranboo is known for complaining that semi-lore doesn't really happen all that often on the smp anymore and that he wishes that people could just approach each other and start rp interactions like how it used to be. i agree with the fact that semi-lore is really fun!!! i love it myself and i wish people did more of it...but here's the thing. ranboo says that he wishes there was more semi-lore and then proceeds to have his in-game chat off 85% of the time, only do grinding streams, and almost never go into the main area of the smp where the majority of the people are. he says that nobody logs on anymore, but when punz and purpled are having more in character interactions with other people than you are, you've gotta start questioning whether you're right about that or not.

as we've seen with phil, "in-character interactions" and "semi-lore" can literally just be talking through game chat -- that's canon enough for the fans, and it's fun to do.

he talks about pre-recorded lore like its a disease and swears to never do it, but it's literally only q and karl that do that and it's simply because that is the form of presentation of lore they feel the most comfortable with. very few people actually prefer one over the other -- we like semi-lore, live heavy lore, pre-recorded heavy lore -- it's all good. none are better or worse than the others because they all have their ups and downs.

i think he just has to understand that any lore, heavy lore usually but also semi-lore is a two-way street. he says that he doesn't want to dm people on discord to do lore, which is totally understandable, fair, and valid!!...but the lore he's preaching about doesn't require dms (or at least, he doesn't want it to). there are so many people that would be willing to strike up an in-character conversation with you if you actually went anywhere on the smp where people are. or if, y'know, you could actually talk in game chat and then move to vc.

for example, foolish!! foolish is a master of semi-lore, he'll dip into character when a dono asks something about it and then flip right back into ooc in the next minute! foolish would be! very willing to talk to c!ranboo! hey, y'know that entire mansion he built for you?? go over there and talk to him about that! hell, even the bee 'n' boo hotel streams were a decent bit of semi-canon that we could appreciate! why don't you go out and finish that, or maybe decorate the empty mansion that foolish worked on for a month!!

he has so many avenues out of the situation he's talked about and just chooses to,,,complain about it and y'know i love him as much as the next guy but my man...it ain't that hard to strike up a conversation in character. especially for you of all people.

Sup yall! I’m PJ, twenty years old (January 17th and I’ll finally be fuuckin legal!), and I use he/him pronouns. I’m in the EST timezone, New York babeyy! I was in this group awhile ago and I’m totally fuckin pumped for it to be back! I’m pretty boring honestly, especially compared to my son Silas. So enough about me and now onto him:)

Trigger Warnings: drugs, alcohol, gun violence, murder, mental illness

Silas was born on March 14th with fetal alcohol syndrome to a single mother who could never get her life straight. She was intoxicated when he was conceived, throughout the pregnancy, and stayed that way for most of his life. She did the best she could to provide him with food and shelter but they ended up at food banks and shelters more than once. 

He was a problem child which didn’t make it much easier on his mom. Fighting, not doing his school work, just causing a shit ton of mischief. He was ten the first time he got into his mom’s liquor cabinet (which was always full, despite their bare food cabinets) and eleven the first time he smoked weed. From there it turned into other drugs like acid and eventually cocaine. He wasn’t as bad as his mom but they were two fucked up peas in a pod. There are only a few drugs he can honestly say he’s never touched.

Besides getting constantly fucked up with substances, Silas had a habit for brawls and became infamous for being the kid who never seemed to lose even when he was against people larger than himself. He’d steal things, once the dumb fuck even took off with a car. Managed to get away by the skin of his teeth and never spoke about it again. 

All this landed him in trouble with the law but as a teenager he was let off easily every time. The judges felt sorry for him and cut him some slack, then he’d do good for a bit but would always eventually end up screwing himself over again. 

Despite being such an angry child, he managed to be decently funny. Made some friends because of his idiotic jokes and the pranks he used to pull. Stupid skits and other various things to show how stupid he is went on his Youtube channel and eventually his following grew a bit.  Think the Janoskians with all of their challenges like the cinnamon challenge, the milk jug challenge, etc.

Once he hit eighteen, he managed to screw up one more time and was given two options. He could either go to prison or he could enlist in the Army. Prison was’t something he wanted to experience so signing up it was. Truthfully, he wasn’t sure that he’d be able to pass the psych exam but he did it, graduating from boot camp and eventually being sent overseas.

Silas saw and did a decent amount of shit while overseas. He killed his fair share of people and would deny it if someone asked, but he enjoyed his first few hits. At one point he had to kill a ten year old with a bomb and that really fucked with his head. 

Eventually he developed depression and PTSD but he did his best to hide it. One day his squadron was ambushed and most of his friends were killed. Seeing all of them lying around on the ground, gone, was enough to tip the scales and he just ran, deserting the military. He managed to survive for about a month on his own before making his way back. They dishonorably discharged him (secret alert!) and now he’s back in the States, doing his best to pretend like none of it ever happened.

Silas tries to act normal but those closest to him can tell that he’s not. He’s posted a vlog since returning but it’s evident that he isn’t the same kid as he was when he left. He has nightmares almost every night and the flashbacks are pretty bad too. Most nights he doesn’t even sleep, too afraid to go back to the war. 

Silas has a huge fear of commitment. Whether it be to another person, his squadron, or just placing a goddamn sticker somewhere, he’s afraid of it. He’s fairly nomadic and he knows it, besides his two besties. There’s something about being tied down that gets him on edge. He doesn’t like to feel trapped, and that’s exactly what the military did to him. 

He’s also terrified of intimacy. not as in sex, but as in getting extremely close to someone. He’s afraid of opening up to people and letting them see his real emotions. Not even his friends always know what he’s thinking, especially when it comes to his feelings about his tours. The only way people find out about his night terrors are if they witness him having them, but he tries to avoid that as much as he can by not sleeping around others.

As much as he hates to admit it, Silas does not like loud noises. Music is fine, but just the slamming of a door or someone else yelling is enough to send a chill down his spine. Fireworks and gunshots are the worst, and even thunderstorms can cause him to panic. When this happens, it’s easy to notice, if you actually pay attention to him. He completely stiffens up and his eyes widen, his hair stands on end and if it’s really bad, he gets cold sweats.

He’s there with his two best friends, Muse A and C from his subplot, Walkman. They booked them the stay as a celebration for his return since he’s been obsessed with the manor for years. He’s actually super excited to finally get to stay inside a room there, especially with the two people he trusts most on this Earth.

As of 8/14/20 Charlie is no longer open to romantic ships with female muses specifically, and will ship only with Bunny’s female muses: Irene @gcrefxed and Sarah @killerxquccn  , with her characters being detrimental in Charlie's story and to his character. Sarah specifically has always been the love of Charlie's life with the likelihood of anyone (beyond Irene) able to come close slim to none. This in no way means I will not interact with female muses or am being exclusionary  from this point; I always want to explore the multitude of subtleties in dynamics between Charlie and muses of every gender - even female muses having feelings for charlie, flirting with him etc - but dynamics with those female leaning will not result in anything romantic. Male muses, however,  are still open to the possibility of such a dynamic as that aspect to Charlies sexuality and character hasnt been delved into and I would find really interesting to explore. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! But please respect this decision and don't try to pressure or force me to change my mind as that will result in an automatic block. I ship based on chemistry between muses, but Im also very okay with pre-established dynamics (whether that be romantic, friends with benefits, enemies, platonic, familial, whatever!) As it is i have a hard time keeping muse, just the way i am sadly. i know this is something a lot of people, myself included, can find frustrating (especially when you’re really into a thread) but a fair amount of the time i may take a while to respond. as much as i love this, aside from being a hobby, i have a chronic illness that makes me exhausted most days or just not in the mood to write and not in any kind of state to type out a response you lovely people would deserve. though i will always try to quickly reply when i can.

lalisa manoban, demi girl, she/her & they/them. — you know khun mae win, don’t you? they’re the twenty year old sophomore who’s studying elementary education & art and living in thayer hall. they used to be addie’s bullying target, but now they are feeling relieved that addie wont be around to hurt them anymore, though they feel guilty as well about that. 

trigger warning for a car accident and teenage drinking.

khun mae is the youngest of three kids. they has an elder sister ( mayuree ) and a twin brother ( sakda ). while her and sakda are twins they can. it’s always playful and they try not to come off as a whiny brat. khun man and their sister are extremely close, as she is only two years older than the twins.

home life was fine as a kid, nothing to report about or worry about. both parents were present and loving, extremely supportive of their children and the varied interests they had. mayuree really loved music and started her talents early in life. sukda became the sports fan of the three and was on nearly every sports team that would have him in middle school and high school. he currently attends the university of michigan as a second string quarter back with a full ride.

khun mae found her passion in art and dance. painting really became her thing, soon spending as much money as was allowed on new supplies. they started winning awards for art and it really made her want to continue this as much as they could into adulthood. while they knew they might not be able to make a living off art all the time, she agreed to go to school for something to fall back on. so she started earning a teaching degree as well as her art degree in order to teach art to others, wanting to perhaps bring the same passion to kids.

her second love had always been dance and they were great at it. able to pick up steps almost instantly and follow through with a new idea until completion, kun mae was a force to recon with on the dance floor. 

her life was always easy, her friends said. her siblings and her got on famously, her parents were amazing and not the least bit over bearing- until the accident. the accident was honestly her own doing, she was out late and making horrible decisions. “but what else are teenagers meant to do?” she asks herself, thinking there was no way she’d actually suffer for this.

until she was. her friend had lost control of the car, who shouldn’t have been driving in the first place. while they’d all had some to drink, the group figured he would be the best to drive them home safely from the party. sudka had stayed to close down the party and take his girlfriend of the time home later so khun mae got into the car.

she doesn’t remember much of the accident. the doctors said that wasn’t surprising with the amount of trauma she’d sustained. they were shocked she was conscious at all. days in the hospital turned to weeks turned to months when they learned the extent of what the car had done to her. unable to walk for months, khun mae still struggles on worse days. while most of the time they can walk without aid, they do have crutches as well in case.

they refused to walk the stage at her high school graduation, instead staying in the crowd to cheer on her brother. never once did her smile fade through her struggles, instead she internalized the struggles she faces so that no one else would have to suffer with her.

it took a lot of convincing for khun mae to think about college again, her admitting to mayuree  and sakda one day she might not go now because she doesn’t want to be that person who struggles to get around campus now. while they couldn’t help her, they did convince her to try and she enrolled as a full time student.

Rock’n’Royal!AU Brainstorm 1: Roles

Alrighty so I still don’t quite have a name for the band but meh, I guess we’ll figure it out as we go! Wanna talk about some of the characters anyhow. C:

The Band: Goes by the name of Rock’n’Royal, I decided that the band that Twi leads is almost entirely indie, in which they don’t have a record label or anything of the sort and make their own way through the industry. Since starting, the band has reached a staggering amount of success and has been approached several times with the offer of a label, but those offers are ultimately turned down in favor of doing things their way. The genre of music they play is generally classified as “rock” or perhaps “alternative rock”, but the band is too experimental and collaborative for it to be stuck in one specific niche.

Twilight Sparkle: The cute dork who somehow managed to elevate herself into rock stardom, Twilight is the lead singer, guitarist, and what’s essentially the manager of the band. Twilight in this AU is far more confident in her abilities, sometimes to the point of being borderline cocky, but when she isn’t on stage she’s still the same bookworm who gets flustered at some of the sweetest gestures and will gladly talk your ear off about the newest scientific discovery: the fans eat it all up. She’s known as “The Princess” or “Your Highness” to her fans; not something she came up with, but she goes along with it.

Trixie Lulamoon: The loudmouth of the group and every bit the showoff, Trixie plays the keytar and is the secondary vocalist. She’s also the primary lyricist of the band: Twilight can sing and can write the general tune of the song, but when it comes to lyrics she’s... pretty bad. Given her talent for talking up hype, Trixie’s often in charge of promoting the band however she can, whether that be blogging about their tours or making posters or bragging: the band has skill, but if it weren’t for Trixie’s constant promoting and networking they wouldn’t be as well known as they currently are. Twi might be the leader, but Trixie’s often the one who is in the limelight and in front of cameras as the voice of the band (Twi’s still a bit camera shy). She’s referred to as “The Great and Powerful” by their fans. Yes, she is definitely the source of it.

Big Macintosh: The big, big, big boi of the group and the only stallion of the band, Big Mac provides his talents in the form of drumming. Sometimes the group does acapella, in which he provides the bass and even sometimes lead vocals. Mac rarely speaks and is known as the silent one of the group, but give him a pair of drum sticks and he’ll go wild. Like his sister, he can play one hell of a banjo. He’s often referred to as “The Gentle Knight” of the band: looming, silent, protective presence, there’s no real need for a bodyguard with him around.

Fluttershy: The newest member of the band, Fluttershy brings to the group her talent with the bass guitar, violin, and piano. Fluttershy’s known Twilight for most of her life and her inclusion into the band started when Twi asked Shy to play the violin for one of their tracks. The song went viral and, when it came time to feature it in a concert, Twi asked Fluttershy if she’d be willing to be the one to play her own part: it wouldn’t be the same if they got some random player to do it. She agreed, and despite her nervousness of being on stage, once she got to playing all of it momentarily disappears. The crowd ate it up and kept asking about the “quiet little fae” playing the violin, and it eventually escalated to Fluttershy becoming a part of the band officially. Nervousness aside, Shy does like the attention she gets but in small doses, so while she’s willing to play on stage she often opts out of interviews or, when she does go, she’s seen clinging to one of her bandmates (most often Twilight or Big Mac). She’s known to the fans as “The Fae” or “The Maiden”.

Applejack: Despite being best buds with Twi and the sister of Big Mac, AJ isn’t actually a part of the band. Well... at least officially. She often acts as the band’s tour-bus driver and, when Twi freaks out a bit, the band manager. She’s the one who helps keep everyone in line and focused on the task at hand, so I guess that makes her more of the manager than it does Twily (who mostly focuses on scheduling and making sure they make appointments on time). She may not be an official member but she has played with the band some, able to take up bass and one hell of a banjo and even vocals. As far as the fans are concerned, she’s as much a part of the band’s official lineup as anyone else. Known for her sincerity and honesty, she’s sometimes called “The Honest Knight” or the “Noble Mare”. There’s also, of course, “Country Beef”, of which both Apple siblings are referred to as. The fans love them some muscular Apple farmers.

Spike: Young roadie of the band and near constant companion to Twilight, Spike helps set up and tear down the equipment for the band’s shows and to keep the band on schedule. He’s resourceful and reliable and takes after Twi’s need to keep everything on schedule, but unlike Twi he’s able to roll with the punches more and, if something does go off schedule, figure out a way to remain on task on the fly. Spike also handles the mail the group gets, ranging from fanmail to inquiries to bills, so on. I’m also considering making him the band’s merch artist: I can see Spike being talented at art for his age and they allowed him to design some of their merch. Spikey works more behind the scenes but he gets his fair share of attention; Twi isn’t afraid to brag about him.

Rarity: Upcoming fashionista fresh out of college, Rarity’s the mare who has the skill and dedication to make it, now she just needs the chance. She runs her own online boutique that has been fairly successful, but she wants to aim higher, to work in the fashion industry and hopefully alongside some of her idols. When she lands an interview with one of the biggest name-brand boutiques in Equestria, she hits a creative block that lasts for weeks and leaves her stressed and nearly pulling her mane out. Rainbow brings her to a concert that helps her out of that block, but when the interview ends badly thanks to some stuffy stuck up unwilling to give her a chance, she finds her start in a way she didn’t anticipate: she becomes Twi’s band’s costume designer for their upcoming tour.

Rainbow Dash: An aspiring athlete pursuing a career in professional sports (and to join her dream team, The Wonderbolts), Dash is Rarity’s roommate and best friend since childhood. She works at a weather factory to make ends meet but trains and practices as often as she can to keep in tip-top shape in hopes of scoring a place on the Wonderbolt’s armature team the next coming annual tryout session. She also has a surprisingly entrenched grasp on painting, so much so that she has a decent online following for her work and even offers commissions as a sort of side-hustle for some extra cash. RD is supportive of Rarity’s endeavors into her career (and vice versa) and often acts as a creative buff for Rarity, helping her out when the stress gets to be too much. Her latest success of pulling Rarebear out of a funk is bringing her to her favorite indie band, but she didn’t exactly expect it to go the way it did! That’s alright though: that just equates to a road trip, so of course she tags along.

Pinkie Pie: Works at the bakery Rarity and Rainbow frequent, Pinkie’s as sweet and as excitable as she always has been. She’s known the pair for about 4 years now, providing cupcakes and coffee all throughout college, and they’ve been good friends ever since with the bakery being the unofficial “hangout spot” for them. When Rarity snags the job as the band’s costume designer and asks if Rainbow and Pinkie want to come, Pinkie is almost forced to go by Donut Joe; of the four years she’s worked for him, not once has she taken any vacation days and it’s about time she takes some time away from work. I’m thinking in this AU Pinkie might be a bit of a workaholic, if only because she might be one of the main sources of income for her family ever since her father fell ill. This is subject to change but we’ll see.

Celestia: A retired music icon who has taken up politics and opened up her own school, Celestia was once known (and still is) as the Queen of Rock. Celestia’s school is well known for their stellar Magi-science program and their arts program (including music), and while she no longer personally teaches there she still does visit the school often and offers workshops and mentoring. She is one of the sources of Twilight’s desire to become a rockstar, the others being Shining Armor (who had his own indie band before ultimately disbanding for the military) and Luna. She doesn’t have any official say in what the band does, but she is a source of advice and wisdom who’s willing to offer a tip or two to help the band succeed.

Luna: Retired music icon who’s settled more into the musical world than Celestia has, Luna was once (and still is) hailed as one of the best drummers in Equestria. She and Celestia were a trio-band with Discord back in their hay-day, with Celly as the vocalist and guitarist, Luna as the drummer and songwriter,  and Discord as bass guitarist. While both have ultimately stepped away from the limelight, Luna found her own calling in being a professional songwriter and lyricist. Like Celestia, Luna holds workshops and mentorship programs at Celly’s school. Whereas Twilight became Celestia’s star pupil, Trixie became Luna’s, and the two’s friendship and eventual collaboration into a band was born out of a friendly rivalry from it.

Discord: Retired music icon who has found his calling in musical management, Discord was once part of Celly and Lulu’s band (called LCD). He was primarily the bass guitarist but he’s well-known for being able to play almost any instrument in existence. No one really knows how he managed that, but there ya go: due to his talent he’s often hailed as the “Lord of music”. When the band ultimately disbanded in favor of retirement and pursuing their own careers in other areas, Discord remained interested in having some part in a band and, surprisingly, became a professional band manager and head of his own record label company. Given how spontaneous and chaotic he is, one would think this wouldn’t really work in the music industry... but to everyone’s surprise, it has. He isn’t quite mentor material like Luna and Celestia, but his own methods of teaching and guiding seem to have an overall positive effect, even if sometimes there’s controversy when he’s near.

Apple Bloom: The youngest member of the esteemed Apple family, AB is just as enthusiastic about music as she is apple bucking. More over, she’s far more interested in how the technology of music works than actually playing it, though she has quite the soft spot for the banjo and its simplicity (thanks to her older siblings). Apple Bloom often is made to stay home with Granny Smith when her older sibs strike out on tour, but this time she really, really wants to go. And by george she’s gonna make it happen!

Sweetie Belle: The young sister of Rarity with an affinity for music, Sweetie Belle swears that one day she’ll be a rockstar. She got hooked onto this notion after seeing a Rock’n’Royal concert on TV, and she couldn’t tear her eyes away from the lead singer as she shred on the guitar, or the very pretty blue mare playing some sort of piano-like guitar and flipping her mane like it was an art. And in that moment, Sweetie knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up. In this AU I’m thinking Rarity’s parents are a bit more... neglectful, than they actually are in canon (or in my headcanon), so Sweetie lives with Rarity. That means wherever Rarebear goes, Sweetie goes, and because of it she’ll soon get to meet a couple of kids who’ll become her bestest friends.

Scootaloo: Young little spitfire who’s actually related to Rainbow Dash in this AU: they’re cousins! Scootaloo looks up to big cuz’ RD and mimics just about anything she does, and that includes listening to the music she’s into. Scoots is admittedly not that big of a fan of Rock’n’Royal, if only because their music isn’t exactly “punk” enough for her, but she likes their music well enough and she has to admit, they all look super cool. And hey, RD likes them a lot, so clearly there has to be something great about them, yeah? Fan or nah, she’ll get a surprise of her life when Rainbow Dash invites little cuzo on a long road-trip with her and her friends.... with the freakin’ band themselves. And of course she’s gonna go... if her moms say yes, of course.

dream was on streams or merch vcs a few weeks ago when I was at work or out (before lockdown😔😔) and I took it as a personal offence. and then when he streamed the manhunt tier list, I was asleep. I fully believe that he has a personal vendetta against me. I don’t think I’d have the energy for a consistent streamer but it’s nice to know that they’re there cause sometimes I’ll just watch and it’ll be nice. yeahh for my bio lecture today I decided to watch punz and listen to music at the same time while doing it. it went fine I just feel like I didn’t retain a thing besides like something about respiration. but yeah twitch vods are a nightmare. Despite having a good amount of dream merch, I’m not in his merch discord. This is for a couple of reasons. 1. I’m afraid to talk to people and 2. I’m afraid I would say something stupid like that dream’s mom is a milf and then get banned from every platform ever

Apologist discourse is soo lame and it’s half on me that my favorite chatacter is the big bad of the season. I find a lot of discourse fun but the discourse where people have a super resolute and negative view of me despite arguably arbitrary things. Like it feels like I’ve said “I really like chocolate on fruit” and then got hit with a “you have committed crimes in real life” like bruh I’m just trying to enjoy my chocolate covered strawberries please chill. MINI UPDATE PART 1: Backer-only Discord Server Questions

Mirroring a recent Kickstarter update over here on Tumblr to try and keep all the social outlets up to date.

This has to be split into two parts because Tumblr only allows five embedded videos per post.

Thanks for everyone’s comments and support on the previous Kickstarter backer only update! A good number of people have joined the Cryamore Backer Discord server that I started up.

We’ve got about 132 members on there right now and it may grow a bit more once I send out the invite to the Paypal backers as a means to get them caught up with what’s been going on behind the backer-only posts. I just have to mirror the backer-only posts in somewhere like Dropbox for their prolonged perusal and prepare a short list of Q&A in case they have any queries and I’ll send out this draft I’ve done.

With that said, I wanted to make a short update reiterating questions gathered from the Discord channels and sharing some of the things we feel we can have non-backers see since it won’t spoil the game... too much.

Rob: We want to be finished this year. We're currently in the "Polish" phase where all the moving and working parts are in, it's just a matter of cleaning up presentation, major bugs, and final art.

Alan: There are going to be gameplay polishes too as we go along. The mechanics we've got are now all adjusted to any suggestions we've taken in from our publisher's testing but we'd like to see if during the backer tests, anyone feels it could be improved further.

That's fair. I guess this is just the marketer in me, but is there gifs and videos that maybe you can release for the community for #Indiedevhour and #screenshotsaturday that we share around. Kinda get the hype train going?

Rob: We want to get back into doing more of that, yeah. Now that we're polishing stuff up.

Alan: We'll be sharing stuff as often as we can on Discord which we'll then pool together for the mini updates.

Alan: We’re not sure about other people using Unity but for us, we’ve been using a mix of C# and FlowCanvas/NodeCanvas to achieve an easily tweakable AI system. It’s the same thing we used to set up our cutscene/dialogue system too, so it’s multipurpose!

Rob: This video is quite outdated though; It’s mostly the dialogue on example there and a few older bugs but that shows how the dialogue tree is set up, how it can control objects to walk away from the scene, change sprites and more.

You do get a Well Rested buff though from sleeping at the inn though and the buff comes at various tiers.

Can you bind them (abilities) to the row of number keys on PC?

Alan: We're using Rewired for Unity to support keybinding and a variety of controllers (here's a list) so you should be able to rebind controls to any key you wish on a desktop keyboard.

Rob: Controllers may be more limited for keybinding in comparison, however.

Alan: Here’s an excerpt from our design document to easily explain how sleeping works.

Take note, costs are subject to change but sleeping in specific beds advances time by a set amount and you get better rest in a shorter amount of time from the more expensive rooms at the inn (to be fully rested and free from fatigue for a day in just two hours would be amazing). You do have the option to be cheap and just sleep in your own bed but you use up more time in a day.

Downing energy drinks is a way to stay awake without having to sleep but you can only carry so much and it won't fully restore your fatigue and you'll eventually find yourself sleeping on the ground, helpless against any threats around you.

We'll put out a public call for assistants when there's nothing else left but the art polish push, there's a bit of design polish that Rob and I still have to work on here and there but when the backgrounds and pixel tracing are all that's left, we're hoping we get many applicants that're willing to stick through.

As for poking every corner for bugs, I've currently given 13 members on the Backer Discord @tester status. Having them on Discord will help us all communicate as they run the builds. I expect we're going to have a few questions of why the game won't start when loading a save (recurring bug that happened in old builds regarding data from a previous build being kept in the %appdata% folder on Windows systems and conflicting with the new build)

Does your [insert magic equivalent here] regenerate quicker if you sleep in a bed/inn?

Alan: In our aim to nail down the fun factor without sacrificing too much of the original vision, we decided to make EP regenerate automatically.

You should see it in action in this older stress test video that Rob shared on the Discord server.

As you can see, the blue meter to the lower left goes down each time Esmy uses a skill. The meter is actually comprised of a number of cells but displays as a meter, the cell count is shown to the right of the meter as EP <number>. Each ability eats a number of cells, i.e. an ability like Ignite Lv1 costs = 1 cell but Shadow Cloak of any level will use = 4 cells. A channeled ability like Boulder Dash will eat up a cell every second.

Cells can be increased by finding certain collectibles in the game.

Rob: You can also see in the video above that even in-editor, the game runs pretty smoothly (60FPS+) with 8 monsters and numerous adds it summons.

Alan: I've personally tried it on my own PC with a 1GB video card from 7 years ago and it runs fine in-editor and runs even better on a compiled build.

Some context is necessary here for the non-backers reading this. During the previous backer update, I mentioned the listed completion times we got for each dungeon when we had testers run through it, here are those numbers...

Northern Caverns v1 Build: 20-30 minutes

Rime Rapids v1 Build: 30-40 minutes

Molten Mountain v1 Build: 30-40 minutes

Terrestrial Woods v1 Build: 40-60 minutes  

Vale of Gale v1 Build: 40-60 minutes  

Sunken Ship v2 Build: 40-120 minutes

Mekanika v2 Build: 40-120 minutes

Phantom Marshes v2 Build: 40-120 minutes

The v1 builds were before I ran a level design revamp over the layouts so those numbers can go up. All in all though, that's currently around 4.6 hours worth of dungeon crawling (and there's one dungeon unaccounted for still).

With that bit of context given, to fully answer lemon-rev's question, take note, these are all approximate numbers as there was a guide provided for the publisher testers to consult and these numbers also DO NOT include boss fights, cutscenes or enemy ambushes. There's also the time required to head out into the overworld and look for and access those dungeons so we estimate that we could hit 12 hours at the very least of regular gameplay without completing any sidequests and hopefully 16-18 hours if you try to 100% the whole game.

Yes! This is also why we're going to have to reach out to our backers for testing assistance as we've only been able to test on PC and Mac so far and do not have much if any Linux testbeds.

Yes & No.  It’s kinda refreshing, but at the same time, sometimes the cold aggravates teeth & jaw pain.  

3: what random objects do you use to bookmark your books?

Reciepts, random pieces of paper or napkins/kleenexes, any small object (paper weight, stress ball thing, eraser, pencil, rock, etc.) or piece of clothing  (Beanie, Jacket Sleeve, etc.).

W/ the amount of Bookmarks I have, you would think that I wouldn’t need to do this.  :P

4: how do you take your coffee/tea?

I’m not really a tea or coffee person.  I’m trying to get into coffee more, I guess?  I’ll usually get flavoured espressos or lattes or Vanilla Frappuccinos from Starbucks every now & then.  

I like Raspberry Iced Tea, if that counts?

…..I’m basically self-conscious about everything, so, yes.

YES!  I have no clue what I’m doing, though.  These poor plants.  I currently have some Cacti [took them in last year when the apartment next to ours abandoned them] , 2 Succulents, & a Venus Fly Trap [that I think I killed tbh].  I’m also gonna try to plant a Marigold, again.  

(Sorry for the poor image. Here’s 3 of them.   Ralph [the succulent on far right] is the one I’ve had the longest.  I’ve had him for over a year & a half now.  Here’s how he looked when I first got him.)

Yes!  …..But the thing is, I’m bad at names & chronically forget them.  :P  I only remember that I named one of my Succulents  Ralph, my Venus Flytrap was/is Khaleesi, and the Marigold that I tried to grow last year was Kira  (…..as in the Kira from Bleach).  My second try at the Marigold will be called Kira 2.0 .

8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings?

Mainly Writing!  In the past, mostly Poetry.  I’ve been focusing more on Fanfics. lately, though.  I also sometimes indulge in some art.

Overall, poetry probably winds up being the most emotional thing for me and contains the most personal content (at least some of the time).

9: do you like singing/humming to yourself?

Rarely.  I don’t really like the sound of my voice & I get scared people will hear me.  I like to Lip-Sing, though.  

Occasionally I will hum, though.  Usually as a way to try to calm myself & get some nervous energy out.  

10: do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach?

99% of the time I go to sleep on my stomach, 1% on my side.  What I do after I pass out is anyone’s guess.  Some nights I’m very still, others not.  A fair amount of the time I’ll wake up on my back…..which is uncomfy.

“Hot Coals.”

In 10th grade we had to write a skit in English class for the play, “Julius Caesar.”

But, no, for actual journal, I do have several, but I haven’t used them in years.  I had a few that I meant to start, but never did, that were for like Dreams and Personal Growth and Identity Exploration.  The ones that I did do were mainly for venting or recording certain mundane events.

When I was a kid I was way more into it.  Used to have a few diaries where I would record school gossip and random events and certain desires and stuff.  And, b/c I was a weird kid, in elementary school, I used to sometimes draw what one of my crushes was wearing.

But, my Mom started reading it, so I stopped writing in them.  :)  And I never really got back into it later, mainly b/c of Trust issues.  But also b/c I got a bunch of Online Blogs now.

20: what’s your favorite eye color?

Uhhh…..Blue?  Probably?  Idk I like a lot of eye colours, tbh.  Like, Brown eyes can be really pretty & certain shades of Hazel.

Somewhere in my closet is a Purpleish-Pink & Black Backpack that I’ve had for…..idk, at least 5 years, if not longer.  It’s very sturdy & pretty.

I LOVE SOCKS!  I really like coloured socks & socks w/ patterns, but I’ll wear just about anything at just about any length, tbh.  I’m wearing socks more often than not, and I generally wear socks to bed  (sometimes the looser ones will fall off during the night, though).

Almost all of my socks have holes in them, tbh, b/c I’m constantly pacing.  :P  My sock drawer is bursting and unorganized.  Sometimes I just wear mix-matched socks, tbh, b/c I rarely ever put the socks w/ their mates.  I just shoove them in the drawer most of the time b/c I don’t have energy.  :P

My fav. socks are probably my Fuzzy Mint Green Pairs.  They’re nice & warm.  

Fun Fact:  I have a pair of Tie-Dye socks that I dyed myself.

My Mom got me him.  I also had another one that my Grandmother got me when I was like 3 that has a Blue Bow, but I have no clue what happened to him.  :(  We think my Baby Bro. might have had it when he was in foster care & that at some point some kid took it.

I am honestly sick and tired of this.

Eevee's job was SUGGESTIONS purely in SUGGESTIONS and advice for the group as a whole. Of course it doesn't seem she didn't do "alot" for this group, the other server who left hardly did shit too! All she did was SOMETIMES answer questions on the group page. Do you think that's fair to only tell Eevee to leave and not this person? You know why?

Because you guys never valued Eevee's opinions. When I spoke to her, one of the reasons why she was asked to leave was because she as you said Floof "made the admin group toxic" how? By saying her opinions? And Kai even placed it that she "talked back". You see? Her opinions were never valued in the first place! Instead of going to her and asking her what she meant, finding a middle ground in everything you kick her out and leave the yesman in! Honestly don't you even DARE try to defend yourself because you KNOW this is true! 

This is a list of suggestions Eevee said on the behalf of members of the group while she was an admin of CCs:

-A event after the MYO event that allowed CCs from the MYO event to upgrade one trait for drawing a gift to a another member who made a CC during the CC MYO event.(Was talked about, never happened)

-CC events that doesn't require having a CC to join(movie nights) (Only happened once or twice, wasn't able to come.)

-A CC roleplay/ARPG(WAS A WIP BUT EEVEE WAS KICLED OUT OF ADMINSHIP)(0.5 for actually having a small amount of progress before Eevee was kicked out)

-More justified punishment of members (Wasn't able to happen this time due to the blacklist of "person C")

-Less favoritism ( "Person B" aka FazedQueenBee was always a favorite of the admins so when she was "in distress" she called on a few admins who she KNEW would help her punish "person c" for being "rude" and it HAPPENED )

-An easier way for the exchange center to still be a thing. (Because honestly posting a journal into a gallery for trading for that species is hellva lot easier, this was discussed but that was it. Nothing ever happened)

-A revamp of the rules so that it would be easier to read.(They tired to do this, which was great! However it needs to be more clear)(2)

-For the warning system to be changed so that it would be less punishing for mistakes(and not have a public warning list too)

-Cocktail colts discord (Bless this was done, thank you Eevee)(3)

The fact that only 3 of these suggestions was ever done during her adminship was upsetting. Two of them she had to do on her own! Although I understand the first suggestion not being done due to prompts being a thing. However the fact that Eevee got the rules system revamped so that it would be easier to read made me really thankful. However Eevee tired to do things for the group! A lot of the time she was shot down or they've talked about it but it never happened.

Also Floof, if Eevee was your friend you should have tired to get her a more public role in the group so that she could PROVE HERSELF TO THE GROUP. Instead of kicking her out for having DIFFERENT OPINIONS AND DOING HER BEHIND THE SCENES JOB. So yeah, don't acted so two faced mkay? Oh, and the matter of the fact is that only one person complained. You know that. Don't try to defend yourself because honestly we all know the truth. Eevee doesn't want to be your friend anymore because she has a VERY good reason to believe that you, FazedQueenBee or and the server who left tired to bully her on this blog.

Now I'm not pointing fingers or anything, but most of the admin team seems focused on trying to make money while Eevee tries to make the CC community a better place from her job position. Her wanting to be more active in the species in terms of job positions isn't a bad thing and the fact that YOUR "COMMUNITY" THAT YOU WAS AT A TIME, RAN. That caused Eevee to leave DA is upsetting and shows that you shouldn't try to run it, and let Buzz do their job. Because honestly lmao Buzz is doing a better job than you already. 

Why don't you do the CC community a favor, and try to work on your cocktail fox species as well as being a better person instead of trying to defend yourself in a useless battle?

Surviving Staying Home During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Lately, every time we log onto our social channels, we see posts with graphics that are charting the spread of coronavirus along with the historical amount of unemployment claims. As we wait for good news we are bombarded with the worst-case scenario of where our country and economy are headed in the weeks and months to come.

Whether you’re on the front lines helping patients fight coronavirus in the ICU, working at a grocery store to ensure that people can still get groceries or even if you’re just practicing social distancing, we all need to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Here are a few simple tips to reduce your electric usage;

Simplify your wardrobe – pick out a few outfits that you can wash in the cold cycle since that uses less energy than warm or hot laundry loads. 

Make sure every load of laundry is a full load of laundry.  

Pick one or two “meeting only” formal shirts, wear them on video conference calls only, then hang them right back up. They won’t get *that* dirty from an hour or two of use. Nobody will know if you wear the same two shirts for a couple of weeks. Maybe throw on the occasional sweater to throw them off the scent.  

This is a wonderful time to keep your windows open!  

Try to avoid using the oven if your A/C is on – it’ll heat your living space, making your A/C work overtime.  

Make sure you only leave kitchen vents and bathroom vents running when you need them to run. They suck out air- which means that cool air that you have paid for, is leaving.  

Unplug. If a devise does not need to be plugged into an outlet or turned on, unplug it, or turn it off.  

Check into window film for your home windows. Home window film reduces heat, helps maintain inside temperatures, blocks UV rays and is cheaper than replacing your windows. 

Not to mention- with window film installed, you can keep the lights off during the day and let natural light shine through and help your overall mood.

Phone conversations, you know an actual conversation (not text messaging) with family and friends to keep you feeling connected. 

Sharing surveys and “challenges” on Instagram and Facebook and tagging your friends 

If you’re working from home, coordinate video lunch breaks  

Start a book club and a Discord channel or group text to discuss  

Venture outside and take a walk. (don’t forget to adhere to the social distancing guidelines).  

Don’t feel pressured to be productive: 

  “I could do this job from home, and I’d have so much time to do more personal projects!” 

  Odds are, you’ve said this to yourself at some point over the last few months before any of this stuff happened. And if you’re like us, you have discovered that you are not as productive as you thought you would be. Sure, maybe you’re getting all of your work done, but the dishes and laundry are piling up, or you keep seeing all of your friends sharing Instagram workout challenge but you can’t muster up the energy to match them. Don’t worry about it.  

We’re all going through an unprecedented, ongoing traumatic event. You may be feeling anxious- maybe a little lost or even overwhelmed with all the changes and restrictions, but do not worry – it doesn’t mean that you’re failing. Try to find something to be happy about, thankful for and something to find joy in every day and focus on that for a bit.

Consider a new hobby, video games, a board game with the kids, or cleaning out the closet to feel productive and accomplished. Find time for happiness and find time for you. 

  (side note-please refrain from any hobby having to do with toilet paper–that stuff is in short supply for some of us).

For all those who are wondering about "Startup" funding, negotiations and what is "normal", here is an attorney's (my) perspective based on a massive amount of deals.(1) No deal is normal. It all depends on your business plan, the actual facts, and your opportunity (as determined by a fair amount of luck and negotiation).(2) The earlier you bring an experienced attorney into a negotiations the better the result will be. Even if we sit in a corner taking notes, it will turn out better than a handshake deal that has to be papered later. It will turn out better if we help you plan for negotiations. It will turn out even better if it seems we can read you mind b/c we have talked to you enough to help you figure out what you want and need.(3) Wondering about SAFEs (and the wide variety of them) or other similar forms? They are simply convertible notes that are stripped down. They are negotiated and terms are added etc in most transactions. If you are simply using the form and doing a take it or leave it transaction, you are probably leaving money on the table. The phrase "standard terms" is an advertising gimmick, just like standard forms. Decent attorneys know this even if you want to use standard forms. We discuss it in coffee shops from time to time, along with the surprising caselaw and the odd fact scenarios we use as jokes.(4) Here is the breakdown of how most transactions are funded generally based on legal industry numbers. It is the snazzy interactive chart and what you came to the post for (I know it and you know it). For your own sake don't rely on it. I've highlighted SAFEs/KISSs for you. Note how little they actually factor in and how much opportunity you may be leaving on the table.The discord community for the subreddit is an excellent place to discuss funding, you can find me there, but more importantly you can find mentors and a great chat forum. For the love of all you hold holy (like money and personal liability), this is not legal advice. How to Get a Divorce Online

To quickly answer this question – there is no way to do an entire divorce online in the State of Utah – we can help you get divorced, but you need to sign documents and at least talk to us over the phone (or meet with us once).  Most of the process can be done via our online portal if your case is not contested – you don’t even need to show up in court.  If you are going through a divorce, you know how difficult it can be. On top of the emotional stress of ending your marriage, you are also required to wade through the legalities of splitting up your relationship, children, home, and family.  Below, we answer some common legal questions about dissolution of marriage in Utah.

What are the Utah residency requirements?

When the divorce petition is filed, either the spouse who files it (the petitioner) or the spouse whom it is served on (the respondent) must have lived in Utah for the past six months. One of the spouses must have been a resident of the county in which the petition is filed for at last 90 days before the filing.

How does a divorce begin?  

The divorce process starts when one spouse files an “Original Petition of Divorce,” is filed. The petition is a written document you submit to the Utah court, asking the judge to grant your divorce. The petition must be served on your spouse.

After receiving your petition, your spouse has the right to file a written response. Some attorneys believe there is a definite benefit in being the one who files the petition, while others think it makes little difference to the ultimate outcome of the case.

Should I settle or go to court?

Like most states, Utah favors voluntary settlements in divorce cases, by which divorcing spouses attempt to resolve their conflicts without court intervention, if at all possible. To this end, Utah law allows the spouses to agree — or the court to require the spouses — to mediate their case. Most divorce cases are settled out of court, requiring only the court’s signature on the Final Decree.

Can I have an uncontested divorce?

Yes, if you and your spouse essentially agree on all issues. Uncontested divorces are most common for couples who have no children, have not been married long, and have not acquired lots of assets (or incurred lots of debts) during their marriage. If you and your spouse are among the lucky few who are having a truly amicable divorce, you will have to put your agreement in writing and attend a hearing before the judge at which your divorce is finalized.

How long will my divorce take?

It depends on your situation. A contested case will take much longer than an uncontested case, for example. In any event, Utah law require you to wait at least 60 days after filing your petition before the court grants your divorce. This is called a “cooling-off period.” In theory, it grants the couple time to reconcile before a Final Decree is issued. Of course, that doesn’t happen often.

What’s the difference between fault and no-fault divorce?

Utah allows divorce for both fault grounds and no-fault grounds. In a no-fault divorce, a couple essentially states that their marriage is no longer working, without assigning legal blame to either spouse. The grounds for no-fault divorce are:

Insupportability: The marriage has become “insupportable” because discord or a conflict of personalities destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.

Separation: The spouses have lived apart, without cohabitation, for at least three years.

The fault grounds for marriage include adultery, cruelty, abandonment, and insanity.

How will our assets be divided?

Utah is a community property state. The judge will divide the marital property equally between the spouses. Each spouse will get to keep his or her own separate property, which includes property the spouse earned prior to marriage and gifts or inheritances to that spouse alone during marriage.

Can I get spousal support?

Utah isn’t particularly friendly to the idea of alimony. Generally, a court will award alimony only in limited circumstances. For example, if you are unable to support yourself due to a disability, or unable to work because you must care for a child with a disability, the court may award spousal support.

Will I be granted custody or visitation rights?

In Utah, both parents are typically appointed as “Joint Managing Conservators” of the child. In essence, this means the parents have joint legal custody of the child, and share the right to make important decisions about how the child is raised, educated, and so on. Utah law presumes that this arrangement is in the best interests of the children. However, the court will make other arrangements if there has been domestic violence or abuse.

The courts also usually implement the Utah Standard Possession order, which determines each parent’s physical custody and visitation rights.

What about child support?

Child support guidelines in Utah are pretty cut and dried. The parent who does not have custody must pay a certain percentage of his or her net income for child support. The percentage depends on how many children the parent is supporting: For one child, the court generally awards 20% of the net resources of the non-custodial parent for one child, 25% for two, and higher percentages for more children.

This provides a baseline amount that is presumed to be fair. However, if a parent believes that the amount generated by using the guidelines is too high or too low, the parent can ask the court to change the award, based on a long list of factors provided in the Utah Family Code. These factors include the child’s needs, any special expenses the child or parent incurs, and how much time each parent spends with the child.
