(not my gif)
It was late in the afternoon when you decided to go home and ask your parents if you could go to South America. Your parents however had other plans for you.
When you arrived at your house a truck pulled up and a man in a grey uniform stepped out.
“Hey Y/N,” he spoke.
You turned to look at your house, when the man said, “Hey, come back. I’m not gonna hurt you. l just want to talk to you.”
You started walking up your driveway, “Uh, no, thanks.”
“Y/N, it’ll just take a second,” the man insisted.
“Stranger danger,” you walked up your porch.
The door to your house was locked when you tried to open it. You started knocking on the the door and shouting, “Hey! Dad. Uh, Mom.”
To your surprise, another man you’ve never seen before opened the door to your house.
“Who are you?” you asked startled.
“Look. This can go one of two ways.” The second man said.
You exhaled. “No, no, no.”
Your mom came out from behind the door, “I’m sorry, honey. We’re sending you away for a while,” she expressed.
“They say that Kitty Hawk’s the best.”
“Wait, what?” you breathed confused.
“We just need to try this, okay? We’re just trying to help you,” your mom explained.
“No.”
“Stay calm,” one of the two men instructed.
“It’s not forever baby. I love you,” your mom said goodbye.
“Mom. Mom.”
“I’m sorry,” your mom apologized.
“No no no. I can’t do this right now,” you begged.
The two men were grabbing ahold of your arms and taking you away.
“We’re trying to help you,” your mom pleaded.
“Mom, Mom, Mom!”
“You have to try.” Your mom said.
“You can’t send me to wilderness cuckoo’s nest!” you exclaimed.
“They’re not gonna hurt you. They’re good people. They’ll help you out,” your dad explained.
“Don’t fight it. Just go, baby. It’s best for you right now,” he continued.
“I said I don’t wanna go. I don’t want to!” you fought.
You grabbed onto the fence trying to pull away from the men.
“Y/N. Stop fighting it” Your dad yelled.
“I don’t want to!”
“I have somewhere to be. No! No!”
“Mom! Dad! Please!”
They threw you in the car and you slapped the windows with your hands calling out to your parents. “No. No. No. No.”
“Mom! Dad! Please! No!”

Everyone was wondering why you weren’t at the airstrip. JJ was getting worried. He figured he would have to go and get you. He wasn’t going on this trip without you that was for sure. JJ was determined to get you on this plane if it was the last thing he would do.
“We’re gonna have to do this without her,” Pope announced.
“No. Give me the keys.” JJ told John B.
“No, dude. No, no, no, no, no.”
“Gimme the keys.”
“It doesn’t seem like a good idea right now, JJ.” John B warned.
“Look. Her parents already hate me. All right?”
“Just give me an hour.”
“It’ll be like. black ops mission, in and out.”
“Surgical removal type shit alright.”
“Plus… I kind of owe her.”
John B ended up giving JJ the keys and so JJ made his way over to your house. He took a deep breath and got out of the car. Your parents were sitting on the steps of the porch.
JJ found out your parents sent you to that wilderness camp and he was angry. He was flabbergasted. His blood was boiling and he was seeing red. All that he could think about is rescuing you.
He found out where you were staying from his cousin. Then he was on his way to save you. When he arrived at kitty hawk he knew he had to play this strategically. He couldn’t just walk up and drag you out of there. He had to be sneaky.
——————
At Kitty Hawk, patients will not be allowed to contact the outside world for the first six weeks of their stay. Patients will not be able to use their phones.Patients will work to be diligent and polite.Patients will be expected to get to work on time. Be awake by 6:00 a.m. and asleep by 9:00 p.m. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in time in the reflection cabin. This is all in the patient’s best interest.
You were thrown in the reflection cabin for trying to escape through the bathroom window. So you stood in there crying because this was the last place you wanted to be and you were feeling hopeless.
JJ got to the gate explaining that he just needed to drop off some packages and they let him in. He went to the office right away.
“How’s it going, ma’am? Um…?” JJ greeted.
“Uh… Can I help you, son?” the woman at the desk said.
“I have a message for one of your campers here. Um… Uh, her names Y/N, uh, Y/L/N. She’s here, right?”
“Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to do that. You’re not even supposed to be here on campus.”
“Okay. It’s… It’s just that it’s a very important… May I sit?”
“Uh…”
“It’s a very important matter, ma’am.” JJ pressed on.
“Oh, i’m sure it is, sweetie, but we have a policy. No contact from the outside world for the first six weeks.” The lady at the front desk responded.
JJ looked at the picture frame on her desk and saw the picture of a cat. So he got an idea.
“Right. Ma’am. It’s actually a family matter, and, uh… I’m… I’m related to her. Im her cousin.”
“So, look, I know you got a policy and all, but there’s just been something that happened recently that… You know what? I’m getting a little emotional right now. So I think I should go. I’m sorry.”
“I shouldn’t even be here, like you said, so I’ll leave you alone. But before I leave, could you just let her know, um… just that, uh… …Marley didn’t make it?”
“Who’s Marley?” The lady asked.
“Marley’s her best friend. A Siamese mix, and, um, yeah, it was really sudden.”
“And, you know, uh… the mailman was coming at 40 miles per hour so…” JJ snaps his fingers.
“He’s in a better place now.”
“But, um, could you just let her know for me? I’d really appreciate that.”
“Thank you, ma’am. You have a great one.”
The lady went to you after JJ left. She told you the news about your cat. You were confused at first but once she said your cousin was blonde you connected the dots.
Later on kitty hawk staff came in to relocate you. You told them to hand on a sec. Then you took a sharpie and wrote cabin 6 P4L.
JJ went looking for you then saw what you wrote on the wood and went to cabin 6. He used a credit card to open the door to the cabin.
Once he got in he whispered your name a few times. One of the girls woke up and turned on the light.
“Sorry I come in peace I’m just looking for someone i’m just looking for- looking for-“
“Me.” You sat up on your bunk bed.
“Y/N.” JJ was flooded with relief.
I guess JJ always had a thing for you but he pushed his feelings aside because he didn’t want to ruin your friendship. When JJ saw you in the dimly lit cabin, he felt something in his chest. You were stunning and he realized it has always been you.
As soon as JJ found out your parents sent you to that wilderness camp he knew he needed to save you immediately. There was no question. He’d do anything for you.
When you saw JJ it was like the whole world stopped. You couldn’t believe he came to rescue you. You quickly realized that without him you would be nothing. That he was your person.
You got down from your bed and met JJ in the middle of the room. You threw yourself into JJ’s arms and engulfed him in a huge hug.
“How how did you-“ you whispered.
“Long story no time to explain.”
“I can’t believe you’re here.”
JJ reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “Believe it.”
“I just wanted to let you know, I would do anything for you,” JJ confessed.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
JJ cupped your cheek with his and and leaned in for a kiss. The two of you were wrapped up in each other and kissing. The kiss was heated and intense. Your mouths crashing together and your hands roaming your bodies. The other girls on the room started cheering.
You and JJ ran out of there and escaped. You never thought you were gonna leave that horrid camp.
“Thank you for rescuing me.” you voiced.
“No problem baby.”

1955 Pt2 - A Lavendar Field
"Do you really have to go?"
"It's just for a little while. A couple months then I'll be back. I'll call you every night."
"How will I survive?"
"You'll have Ava and your parents, and packing."
"Okay...and maybe I'll find that book for you."
"I'd like that."
The months passed quickly in a blissful blur that Sofia had a hard time believing was her real life. Ava warmed up to her grandmother and they settled into a routine. Sofia still didn't sleep well without Jamal nearby but he called every night to see how she was doing.
Before she knew it Jamal had returned from Oasis Springs and they decided to make a visit to the library in Prescott Square. Ava was not too impressed by the children's area and begged Jamal to hold her.
"I'll stay with her, why don't you go find a quiet corner for a bit."
Jamal settled in with a book and Ava finally calmed enough to notice there were dolls to play with. Sofia rarely got time to herself and felt strangely lonely as she slipped out of the children's space and into the world of books. How could she pick just one to curl up with?
As she was crossing the catwalk she noticed a familiar face. "Nikolas?"
"Sofia!? Is that really you? What are you doing in Copperdale?"
"I've been back for a couple months. Staying with my parents. I thought you went back to Evergreen."
"I did. But then came back for work."
"That's great! What are you doing now?"
"Eh nothing too exciting, mostly just pushing papers. I'm in University now finishing my degree and then maybe it will actually turn into something"
"Nik, that's amazing!"
"But what about you. You're not still with that pimp are you?"
As if on cue, Sofia felt Jamal's arms come around her possessively and he kissed her cheek as if he didn't notice Nikolas sitting there. "You two are talking awful loud for a library"
"Sweetie this is Nikolas my best friend since childhood. We grew up in the orphanage together"
"Nice to meet you Jamal. Glad to see Sofia's taste in men has improved. I never did like that Don guy."
"Sofia's best friend is a hands-off friend...noted. Good thing I showed up when I did."
Nik laughed humorlessly, "No one can change Sof's mind when she wants something."
Ava finally came out of the playroom and brightened when she saw Nik "Mr. Nik!"
"Hey there Little Bird, look how big you've gotten!"
"Mr. Nik, do you like kitty's? I think kitty's are the bestest animals in all the worlds but mommy says I'm too young to have one. of my own."
Nik scooped her up and she giggled "Mommy is probably right. When you're a big girl then you'll be able to take care of a kitty's needs just like your mommy takes care of yours."
"I want to be a big girl now!"
Nik laughed, "Patience Little Bird, it'll happen before you know it"
Jamal watched Nik and Ava with a frown. "Why are you making that face?"
"He knows Ava?"
"Of course he does. He's my best friend and he was the only one there for me when she was born." She took his hand and pulled him closer. "You're really cute when you're jealous."
After a little more small talk Sofia hugged Nik goodbye. "It was really good to see you, Sof. I'm really happy to see you doing well and Jamal seems like a really nice guy."
"He is. I'm really lucky to have found him."
He winked, "I'll be waiting for my wedding invite."
The weeks passed and spring began to turn into summer. Hezekiah and Anabelle were enjoying their last few days to spoil their granddaughter before going back to Oasis Springs so Jamal took the opportunity to get Sofia out of the house.
"You look stressed. Everything okay?"
"My mother's driving me crazy. She keeps making all these comments about us living together and how I need to make sure you're really committed and we shouldn't be woohooing before marriage."
"Wait you told her we're woohooing."
"Of course not but she's not stupid."
"Weren't you born out of wedlock?"
"Yes! She's such a hypocrite."
"Maybe she just wants you to be better than her. But you already are doing amazing with Ava. And I'm not your father. Even if you got pregnant before we got married, I'd be there for you."
"Really?"
"Of course Sofia, I want all that with you, the timing just hasn't been right to make it official. Your parents don't know what you've been through or why I've been holding off. Frankly it's none of their business."
"You're right. The timing hasn't been right."
Jamal stopped as they came to a beautiful field of lavender and took her hands in his looking at her with an intense look that made her a little nervous. "Sofia. I've been thinking about this a lot."
"About what?"
"The timing...for us." Suddenly he was dropping to one knee."
"Sofia, I know you're still recovering and there's a lot for us to work through but I agree with your parents. I don't want to bring you to live in my house unless you're my wife."
"Jamal!"
"Please Sofia, say yes. Be Mrs. Donnelly. Live life with me. Let me take care of you."
Sofia felt like she was in a haze as he held the box out to her. He was saying such beautiful words and she knew he wanted an answer but she was so shocked she couldn't speak. Was she dreaming? This couldn't possibly be her real life!
"If it's a no just say it. It's okay."
She took his face between her hands. "It's not a no! Yes, of course I'll marry you! Nothing in all the worlds would make me happier than to be your wife."
She pressed a kiss to his lips losing herself in the haze of their passion as they tumbled into the field of lavender.

hi lillian! i hope this isn't too intrusive (feel free to disregard) but i saw your post about losing your great-grandmother. how are you? i hope you're feeling a little better and, if not, i hope you're holding up as well as you can<3
thank you so much for checking in on me, anon! it really means a lot. i'm doing as well as i can, but it is the most intense grief i have yet faced. she spent over a decade looking after me and my brother while our single mother was working during the week, essentially helping raise us, and it was very jarring to lose a very close motherly figure so suddenly. the pandemic kept us apart, so we weren't able to be around her very much the last few years, which made the goodbye less shocking but made the guilt worse. anyway, it's just tough stuff to deal with, but i really am managing alright.
i don't know if you believe in this sort of thing, and honestly i'm not even sure what i believe exactly, but she always had a connection to animals (cats specifically) and throughout my childhood always talked about how she would like to be reincarnated as a cat. when she was unresponsive in hospice, the last night i saw her alive, i asked her to find a way to come back and tell us hello, either as a cat or a butterfly---two symbols that have a meaningful history in our family.
on the day of her funeral, a yellow butterfly (specifically a tiger swallowtail, one of her favorites) flew around my shoulder and inches from my face while i watched her casket being lowered next to my great-grandfather.
two months later, on this most recent halloween night, a litter of kittens were randomly running around in our front year during trick-or-treat hours. they came and inspected our porch decorations and left, and an hour later, another one came back and sauntered right up our porch and into our kitchen while we were handing out candy!
now, for context, my parents and i always feed the stray cats, so we're used to seeing quite a few and recognize them easily. but we had never seen these kittens before, nor had any of our frequent strays ever appeared pregnant over the last six months. we believe the litter was dumped in our neighborhood on halloween due to their black coats (black cats unfortunately are treated very ill this time of year due to ridiculous negative superstitions).
we decided to keep the little one that walked into our house--i do believe it was a sign, both from the little kitty wanting a home and also from my great-grandmother saying she heard me while i visited her in hospice although she couldn't speak. unfortunately, we didn't see the other kittens again, despite trying! we're keeping an eye out for them so we can rescue them if possible.
anyway, the kitty is a little boy, he has beautiful black fur and golden brown/yellow eyes, a perfect halloween cat. and i named him Severus (yes, after Snape, lol). i'll include some pictures! he's five months old and has a clean bill of health, despite some tummy issues. he's the most affectionate and clingy cat i've ever met, and i can't believe he's ours. i absolutely adore him and he's given me more energy to keep going and be excited about getting up every day.
sometimes when he looks at me, i swear i see my grandmother looking back, but not always (which makes me believe it more in those little glimpses).
so, all this to say, i'm doing better now, although my grief isn't linear. i think the best thing that's helped me is choosing to recognize the little signs i do believe our loved ones can send us beyond the grave. i don't know how it works or what it means for those of us who are still living, but i do know there is truth to some sort of existence beyond the physically tangible, and that gives me hope. <3

I'm real tired all the sudden! It was kind of a long day. But I'm on my way home now and it's a little warm but I'm in a good mood. I feel pretty happy.
It was nice to sleep in. But I felt very delirious when I woke up. I woke up in the middle of the night at one point because James stole my blanket. We have our own blankets and sometimes we share the big comforter but it's too warm for that right now So there was no reason for them to steal my blanket! But I got it back and everything was fine. And then I woke up again when their alarm went off. Because it's startled me. And then I woke up right before they left because they were saying goodbye. And then I woke up for real at 9:30. So I think my body was just very confused at why we were waking up so many times.
When I did wake up for real I took a little while to actually like shake off being sleepy. I felt like my face was very puffy. And that was not comfortable. But I would get up and get dressed and things were okay.
I decided that I needed to get things done before I sat down and ate something. So I did some water changes for the fish tanks. Which is mostly just getting out some of the debris from the bottoms and then replacing the evaporated water. And then I was happy to see that kitty kitty, the loach seems to be doing well but he is pretty skish. The name is fitting. And then I spent a little time vacuuming but then the vacuum died too quickly so I gave up on that and just wipe down services and clean the sink. I had some leftover pizza which was not very good but whatever. And then went to work in my studio.
I finished up the bears that I had sewn yesterday. Gave them all faces and stuffing and close them up. And then I went through all of my other products. I brought in the basket from the car and took everyone out of their packaging because some of their faces are just goofy. I think I made them when their eyes were slim pickings. So I ended up taking a few of them apart and exchanging the eyes for different sizes and that was an excellent thought. So now I have an entire pile of ones that I want to change the faces on. I just think that they'll sell better with a better energy. And then I chose the ones that are going to be sold at the market this week and figured out a new way of storing the popcorn boxes so that nothing gets crushed. And I decided that I did need to go and find another one of these little crates. I think in the long run even if I just use it for transport it's going to help me out.
I worked on a couple other things. Specifically sorting out the souvenirs and putting everything into bags. I packaged everything up so that when I deliver them to their different locations it will be easier. And then I did just some work on my desk and putting things away and it was nice.
I decided I wanted to go for a drive. And so I drove out to savers in the afternoon. I didn't really want anything and honestly it was kind of a bust anyway I barely saw anything I wanted or even wanted to take a picture of. So I just kind of wandered and people were very unaware of their bodies and just blocking the entire aisle for no reason. I did end up finding an excellent pair of vans. Which is great because I had actually been looking for an interesting pair of vans on eBay for the last month or so. I prefer a slip-on but these ones were just too good to pass up. I love the primary colors I love the patching. I think they're really great.
Not that I'm really a sneaker girly but maybe I will be. At least at camp.
I went over to the dollar store next to look for more of the wooden marbles. No luck. I did end up having a funny interaction with a woman as I was leaving and then when I decided to drive over to Joanne's she also drove over to Joanne's and so we were like what funny meeting you here and then we both got in line at the same time so obviously we're best friends now. I did find the milk crate I wanted and it ended up being only $5 because it was on sale and I had a coupon. And I was very pleased about that. And I told myself that if I didn't find the marbles there I would go to five guys for lunch. If I did find the marbles I was going to go to Denny's.
But there were no marbles to be found. The only thing I was able to find were wooden beads but that is not the same thing. So I told James to ask Jessica for me this week where she buys them. Because it's basically what we use for balls and track.
I didn't love my five guys. It was fine but honestly it was too hot. Maybe cuz I was too hot but it was fine. I took half of the fries home and would enjoy them a little bit better when I got back there.
James reminded me that I had a 4:30 start at the Museum and out of 5:30 start. So that threw my plans off a little bit but not too much. I decided I would go right home and spend an hour there and then go to the Museum a little early and roller skate in the pavilion.
And that is exactly what I did. I didn't roller skate as long as I really wanted to in my heart. But my ankles are just so weak. Like I was able to escape for like 5 6 minutes and then I have to take a break and then I could go a few more rounds but my turns and stops are getting much stronger and my transitions from foot to foot are really getting good on that pavement but as soon as I tried to go on the gravel it was a nightmare disaster scenario. I am not strong enough. But I was still having a very good time.
James got all caught up because the wedding was struggling with their video file. Same as every other wedding. And by the time I decided that I was done skating went over there and they were just getting file to work. But they still had their other closing duties so I went and got myself situated and got mine sewing stuff out that I brought and I worked on some new pins and keychains.
Something about me is that I hate cutting fabric. I hate it I rush and I mess it up and I hate it. I love sewing. I hate cutting fabric. But I did cut out a little felt bears to be pins. And I think that they will be very cute. Even if I hated cutting them out.
Honestly I didn't really feel like myself tonight. I was very tired emotionally. And I really wasn't like as on as normal. And I was excited to see this wedding because it was an Indian wedding and I always love the traditional dress. Everyone looked great. And it was just very cool to see everything all pretty. But the decorations kind of left something to be desired. They were a little boring. The thing that they got married under which has a name but I did not catch was pretty but everything else was just kind of plain. Which is fine I was just surprised.
It was really a struggle to get anyone to come up and talk to me but once they did they all loved it and they were all lovely. There was a little drama though because they only had one table of appetizers and half of it was vegetarian half of it was not and nothing was labeled. And I think a bunch of vegetarians had to crab by accident. Hopefully it is not a huge deal and no one gets sick but that's not good. I let Angie know just in case.
I did have some great conversations though I just wish that people would have come in earlier. And the ones that I did talk to were just so sweet and I was running around and I was a little all over the place and I think some of my regular speeches were getting mix-match and upside down but. Everything was fine. It was a good time.
I hope Angie move a table with all the cards on it and then she went outside to take down their wedding arch thing. And she said thank you about 15,000 times and then I went home.
And I'm almost there now. My feet hurt really bad and my makeup was holding but now is melting again on my face and I'm really annoyed about it. I think it's a primer issue. I'm going to experiment with another plan tomorrow. Today's seem to work pretty well but we continue to try to fix this situation.
Tomorrow I have a busy day at camp. I'm at camp the first 4 days of this week. And I'm looking forward to it mostly. The mostly is only because it's supposed to be pretty warm and I don't really like to be hot especially when I'm going to have to be walking up and down hills a whole bunch. But I think the groups will be very fun and that makes me happy when they're good groups. So fingers crossed it's a good week and I have a good time and I remember to bring the big water bottle so that I am hydrated. I tried my best to be hydrated today but it was hard still. I think I filled up my water bottle like six separate times.
I am home now and I'm going to go take a shower. I hope you all have a great night and sleep well. Until next time.

Stay at Home DILF
Fandom: Criminal Minds Pairings: Aaron Hotchner/Female Reader Word Count: 5,863 Tags: 18+, NSFW, Dad Bod Hotch, Insecure Hotch, Oral sex, Fingering, Unprotected sex, A little angsty by accident Summary: Aaron retires from the BAU when the new baby is born, but a year later the lack of structure, sleep, and time for himself means changes to his body he's not very proud of. When the thought of having another child is brought up, how will he and his wife work through his insecurities to make the perfectly imperfect, happy family? *Requested by anon Link to A03 or read below! “Honey, I have to get going—do you need me to drop Jack off at school, or are you good?” Professor Hotchner slides her foot into a flesh-toned pump, leaning against the kitchen table for support and stealing a grape from Jack’s fruit salad. He narrows his eyes, then sticks out his tongue, and she does the same. “Do you want me to starve, Jackrabbit?”
“You won’t starve. Get your own grapes.” So full of sass, that one. Seven is such a fun age. She decides to blame the mixture of Aaron’s genes and Haley’s, and she pulls out her phone to send Haley a quick text.
Your son is a menace in the morning.
Haley: Gets that from his dad.
Aaron enters the kitchen, holding their one year old daughter Mia, and he sticks her in her highchair, puts her breakfast in front of her, and leans toward his wife.
“I’m good, I’ll take him,” he says, and kisses her lips. “Mia and I will take big brother Jack to school, won’t we?” Mia is obsessed with Jack—her first word was Jack, or rather, Ack, which was super cute—so she giggles happily, and her mother can’t help but smile. Their little family is absolutely perfect.
She leans in for another kiss from Aaron, and then another, and then maybe one more...
“You’re getting distracted,” Jack says, and she looks over at him with a raised eyebrow, then back to Aaron. He shrugs.
“It was on one of his vocabulary sheets.” Figures.
“Well, maybe I find my boys distracting. Let me give you kisses and we’ll find out!” She launches herself at him, kissing his head and his cheeks, and he laughs, and she knows she’s going to be late for work, but she can’t pass up moments like these, she just can’t.
She gives him a hug and tells him to have a good day, then she kisses Mia, and then she puts her arms around Aaron’s neck and kisses him goodbye. Before she pulls away, something comes over her—the warmth of this perfect morning, the overwhelming love for both of their sassy, silly kids, or maybe the fact that they’ve been too busy for sex lately and she’s constantly horny for him—and she looks up at him and whispers, “we should have another baby.”
Aaron grins immediately.
“Yeah we should.” They kiss a few more times, quickly, smiling against each other's lips, and he pats her hip because he knows she has to go. “We’ll talk more later, but yes. I want to. I love you.” He takes her face in his hands and kisses her deeply, and she sighs, grabs her bags, and heads out the door. Work is work; as the youngest professor in the English department, her schedule is jam packed with classes, lectures, morning office hours, but despite all that, it seems that Aaron is having the more difficult day.
They both love that he was able to retire from the BAU early to be a stay at home dad when Mia was born—he does consult for them occasionally, but has no official title, doesn’t have to travel—and he’s amazing at it, but she knows her baby can be a handful even on a good day. The texts she’s been getting all morning only solidify that knowledge.
Aaron: FYI - Mia hates bananas this week.
Aaron: What do they put in this applesauce, crack? She’s tearing around here like a bat out of hell.
Aaron: Okay, she’s your child, I officially renounce her. I put on The White Album and she started crying.
Maybe she prefers Abbey Road?
Aaron: No. Unlike her mother, she has taste.
You wound me, Hotchner.
She works through lunch, grading papers on The Call of the Wild, but when Aaron’s name lights up the display on her phone, she puts her pen down and smiles, puts it on speaker.
She’s sorry she did, because Mia is wailing in the background, and it’s very clearly her, I’m exhausted, asshole, leave me alone, cry, which makes her wonder why she’s not taking a nap. She knows she resists Aaron sometimes, doesn’t want him to leave her alone in her room, which is so sweet and also so, so annoying.
“Hi, sweetheart. Are you having a little trouble over there?” He takes a deep breath and sighs.
“She won’t go down, baby, even if I sit in the rocking chair beside her. It’s been twenty minutes.” Wow. He put up with it longer than she would have.
“Put her in her crib with Stuffy Bear and just let her cry; I know you hate that, but she’ll give up eventually.” He groans softly.
“I can’t; I feel so bad.”
She smiles. Her warm-hearted man.
“She does this because she knows you’ll give in and do whatever she wants. I promise you, she’ll be happier for it; she sounds miserable.”
“I don’t know…” he says, and she can tell he’s not going to do it. She picks up her pen and skims the paper she abandoned.
“Are you tired?” She doesn't wait for an answer, because she knows he is: Jack had a bad dream last night and woke them both up, and Aaron went to lay with him until he fell asleep because he knew she had an early morning. It was almost time for her alarm when he made it back to bed. “If you want to try to nap, she’s going to have to nap. Do it for her, yourself, me, a combination of the three of us. She won’t be mad at you; she won’t even remember.”
“What if I give her abandonment issues?” he presses, and she closes her eyes for a moment.
“Aaron, I love you so much. You’re such a great dad, and our kids are lucky to have you. But you have to loosen the reins just a little, especially if… if we are going to have another baby.” The thought makes her smile, and she can tell he’s smiling down the line, too.
“Right. Loosen the reins. Just put her in her crib,” she can hear that he does that, “and give her Stuffy Bear, and let her cry.” He blows out a breath, and she can hear the door click shut behind him as he leaves her room. She’s proud of him, but she also knows he’s going to sit in front of the video monitor and watch to make sure she falls asleep, and that he’ll probably work on laundry after that and not actually take a nap of his own.
He insists he’s doing fine when she brings it up, but the way he sacks out like a corpse when they get into bed doesn’t exactly have her convinced.
“I love you, and miss you,” he says when it’s slightly quieter, though she can faintly hear the cries through the monitor. “It made me really happy this morning when you said we should have another baby. We make perfect babies, have you noticed?” She hides her grin behind her hand, because if anyone walked by her office they’d think she’s insane with how widely she’s smiling.
“I have noticed, but since we only have the one and I can’t take any credit for Jack, I figured we should probably make another. Maybe the same way we made Mia…” They’re both convinced it was a weekend when Jack was at Haley’s and the two of them went to town on each other, true marathon sex where they only stopped for food and water and she coaxed him to hardness so many times she felt like a damn sex goddess.
“Hmm. I remember that with fondness, and would love to do that again. You know Haley said she’d take Mia on one of Jack’s weekends if we ever needed her to.”
Her life is pretty damn perfect, with her gorgeous, caring husband, and her two awesome kiddos, and a job she loves, but the most unexpectedly sweet part is that Haley is so comfortable with her, and that she and Aaron were able to get past the ugliness of their divorce to eventually become friends again. It’s not something they take for granted.
“Maybe we should take her up on it this weekend,” she says, trying to sound a little sultry. “We’ve both been so busy; it’s been a while since you pet my kitty.” For some reason, this particular phrase makes Aaron blush and get insanely horny, and she’s hoping to tease him so much the rest of the week that their weekend is one neither of them ever forget, so she’s pulling out the big guns.
“It’s been far too long, and I’m sorry. I can’t wait, baby. I’ll call her here in a few; I know you have to get to your next lecture.” She looks down at her watch, and it is about time to clean up and head over. She sighs happily down the line.
“Okay, I love and miss you; try to take a power nap. I promise, she’ll be fine.”
“I will.” He won’t. “Talk to you soon.” When she gets home, Aaron has dinner ready; she told him to hold off, that she’d help when she got there, but he has always been an overachiever.
Mia is already in her high-chair, waiting patiently for once in her little life; she kisses her forehead, breathes in her sweet baby smell, and then makes her way to her husband.
“Looks good, honey,” she says as he sets the table, and she leans up for a kiss, but when she presses her hand to his stomach like she always does, he pulls back a little. “Is everything okay? Did you have a bad afternoon?”
“No, it wasn’t bad after the nap fiasco,” he responds, but he sounds distracted. Maybe he was asked to look at a case, or something, and that’s still on his mind? She leans against his shoulder, puts a hand on his back and attempts to push up his t-shirt, to skim her hand up along his spine, which always comforts him, but again, he shifts away from her touch. She sighs and steps back.
“You're going to give me a complex, Aaron. If I did something to upset you, please tell me so I can apologize and try to make it better.” He turns to look at her face, and his formerly tense jaw softens a little; he presses his lips to hers, just a peck.
“No, you didn’t do anything. I’m just a little tired, that’s all.” He smiles softly, and she’s sure he is tired, but this seems like something more.
“You’d tell me if something else was bothering you, right? You know I’m here for you.”
“Of course I would, and of course I do. I love you,” he breathes against her mouth, and then he goes in for a longer kiss and she gets, as Jack said earlier, a little distracted. When the kiss breaks, she sighs happily.
“I love you. Missed those lips,” she murmurs, and then she runs a hand over his hair. “If the kids wake up again tonight, I’ll get them. You need to rest.” He shakes his head.
“You have another full day tomorrow,” he counters, and it’s so sweet that he keeps up with the schedule she has posted on the fridge, but still. She puts her hand on her hip.
“And you don’t? It’s my turn. Let me help.” He looks like he wants to argue, but she gives him the glare he knows means she will talk about this all night if he doesn’t agree; she’s not the sponsor of the university’s debate team for nothing, and even his prosecutorial ways have nothing on her.
“Okay,” he sighs, and she smiles and kisses him and then goes to get Jack and make sure he’s cleaned up for dinner.
That night when the two of them are getting ready for bed, she’s surprised as hell when he stops her from pulling one of his t-shirts—her typical sleepwear—over her head. She sets it down, arches her brow, and he guides her back onto the bed with a grin and puts his hands on her hips.
“What’s happening right now?” she asks, because before Mia, sure, Aaron would treat her to all manner of orgasm-inducing behavior at random, and she would do the same, but since Mia—especially in the last six months or so—their sexual encounters have been few and far between. It’s no one’s fault, and they’re both very clearly still attracted to each other; it’s just one of those things that falls by the wayside when you have a new baby and a hectic life and you don’t get enough sleep.
Needless to say, she is a little confused by this turn of events.
“I’m attempting to worship my gorgeous fucking wife,” he murmurs, and he leans up and kisses her stomach, licks a long line up from her belly button. Her breath hitches. “Gonna put another little baby in here—but it’s always beautiful.” He slowly moves his lips higher, over her ribcage, and holds her there. “You’re perfect, you know?”
“Aaron.” Her fingers come up to sweep through his hair; her heart aches with love and tenderness. He moves up, presses open-mouthed kisses to each of her breasts, then covers them with his hands and squeezes. She’s a panting, dripping mess, and more than anything she wants to strip him naked, pull him closer, get him inside her.
“I love you just as you are; I want you just as you are. Always have, always will.” He smooths his hands up over her throat, and brings her mouth to his for a deep, soulful kiss. She hadn’t even realized she’s been feeling repressed, but his touch tonight makes her feel so beautiful and special… It's incredible how close she is from only that.
“Make love to me,” she whispers, and he kisses her again, but then he slides back down her body.
“Want to taste you,” he says instead, and he gets his hands on her hips again and his mouth on her pussy, looks up at her while he licks and sucks like he’s gone without for ages—which he has, she figures, but it’s blowing her mind, her fingers scratching at the sheets, her neck arched. He massages her hips as his tongue works, as he grinds against the bed, and she comes with a whimper, because her body is so overwhelmed by how good she feels that she can’t even properly vocalize it.
Aaron comes up, just a little, rests his head on her stomach, and she smooths her hands over his hair and his shoulders, since that’s all she can reach.
“Come up and let me touch you—or you can come inside me.” She will happily take either option, but he just kisses her belly and shakes his head.
“No, I’m good. Just really tired.” She frowns, can’t recall a time in her life when they didn’t both get off during sex; he catches her expression and runs his hands up her body. “Really, I’m okay. I just wanted to do that before I passed out.” He smiles, and she doesn’t like it, but he climbs off of her and goes to the bathroom, and she pulls on the t-shirt and crawls into bed. Two days later, she’s sitting in her office grading tests when she hears a knock at the door. She looks up, and it’s Aaron, of course, looking so gorgeous in a black polo and jeans.
“Hey, what are you doing here? Where’s Mia?” she asks with a smile. He leans against the doorframe with his arms crossed.
“She’s with her Aunt Penelope for a few hours.”
“Why? Is everything okay?” Penelope is at work, she knows, because she texted her earlier about something unrelated and she’d mentioned that she and Spencer were having coffee and that he said hello.
“Everything‘s fine,” he assures her, and he enters the room fully, closes the door behind him… and locks it. “Can’t your husband come visit you during your super secret not-really-office-hours?” She raises an eyebrow, both at his question and the fact that he locked the door. What exactly is he planning to do, she wonders?
“You can, but you don’t. I guess I’m just surprised.”
“Well today I decided to. I missed you so much.” He walks around her desk and leans over her for a couple of kisses. “Have you missed me?” She rolls her eyes, smiles.
“Of course I missed you. I miss you every second I’m away from you.” She reaches out, wants to hug him, pull him closer, but he takes a step back and crooks his finger, encouraging her to follow him.
He’s being really weird, but he’s also being really hot. She decides to play along.
She stands, walks over to him, and he carefully clears a spot on her desk, knows she has a system and doesn’t like a mess; when she’s within reach, he puts his hands on her waist and lifts her up onto it, her ass where a stack of tests had just been. Fuck.
“I want to get this dress off of you,” he says, voice low, and he takes her face in his hands and kisses her, rough and deep. “Can I take it off, baby? Can I make you come?”
Everything is happening so fast her head is spinning—it’s not like him to just show up at her office, to try to have sex with her there, especially when their dry spell has been, up until recently, like the damn Sahara.
He must sense her confusion, her apprehension, because he kisses slowly along the side of her throat, down the v-neck of her dress, making her eyelids flutter.
“The door’s locked, and no one even knows we’re in here. Can I take it off?” She pants, thinks about this for a second, but then he slides a hand over her thigh, pushing her skirt up, and she gets a little distracted. She nods, and he kisses her hard and unties the sash of her wrap dress, pushes it off her shoulders. She’s glad she wore a matching set of bra and panties, because this is like prime fantasy material and she wants to try to remember every detail.
He kisses her mouth, soft and sweet, then tugs the straps of her bra down her shoulders, pulls the cups down so her breasts fall out of them. She moans, a little startled, and he dips his head to mouth at her nipples, rests one hand on her lower back and one on her stomach—probably because she looks like she’s about to slide off the desk and onto the floor like a blob of jelly. She knows that’s how she feels.
When he’s gotten her thoroughly worked up, almost trembling with the need for more, he pushes her panties aside and presses a finger into her, and she whimpers, wraps her hand around his neck for support when he starts to pump it deeply inside.
“What has gotten into you?” she breathes, and her hips chase the pleasure he brings; the hand on her back moves to her ass, squeezes it.
“I love you and I want you. I want to make you happy, I want you to feel good.”
“Me—me too,” she gasps as he moves faster, staring right into his eyes. “I love you, want you. Want to make you happy, feel good.” She cards her fingers through his hair and stretches for a desperate, eager kiss. “I want you so badly, baby, please.”
“I’m right here. You have me,” he murmurs, but that’s not what she means and he has to know it. Just in case he doesn’t, though, she makes herself loud and clear; relationships are all about communication, after all.
“I want you to put your cock in my pussy, I want you to come in me. I want you to fucking ruin me, Aaron, I want you to shove your dick in me and keep shoving.” She sounds unhinged, but she can’t stop.
He adds a second finger—not what she wants—and roughly gropes her breast—it feels so good, but it’s not what she wants. Why won’t he give her what she wants?
“Shh, just come on my hand, it’s okay. I’ll fuck you later, in our bed, baby,” he promises. “Just come now, okay? Right here, right now for me.”
She does, because even if he’s being unnecessarily aggravating, it’s still Aaron. She’s desperate for him, always has been, always will be. She comes loud and high and she clutches him tightly and he kisses her and coos words of love and affection into her ear. She gets cleaned up, and they go for lunch, and they can’t take their eyes off each other.
Something’s very wrong, and she can’t quite put her finger on it.
That evening when she gets home, Aaron is feeling guilty. She’s not sure why, but he’s executing all of his patented guilty trademark behaviors: he offers her a glass of wine, runs her a bath, rubs her feet, even though he’s been the one home with the baby all day. She’s tempted to ask if he’s cheating on her, as a joke, but that’s never funny, especially when she knows he’s being shifty and weird about something.
When they’re laying in bed, he sets down his book and looks over at her.
“I meant to tell you, Haley isn’t able to take Mia tomorrow. Maybe the weekend after, we can have our special alone time.” She won’t say she’s not disappointed, but she doesn’t want to inconvenience Haley, when she’s already being so great. She smiles softly, covers his hand with hers.
“That’s okay. It was short notice, anyway. I’ll still enjoy my weekend, with you and Mia.” He smiles too, but it doesn’t quite touch his eyes.
The kids sleep through the night, but she doesn’t. On Friday, she picks Jack up from school and takes him to Haley’s, who sends him to wash up so she can make him a snack. When he’s gone, she smiles warmly and invites her into the kitchen for coffee; she takes a cup, and they make pleasant small talk like they always do.
“Are you sure you don’t want to bring Mia over?” Haley asks after a few minutes. It sounds like she’s double checking. “It’s really no trouble.” She frowns, sets her cup down.
“I thought you weren’t able to watch Mia this weekend. I thought… I thought that’s what Aaron said. I must have misunderstood him.” That’s the only logical conclusion, because Aaron wouldn’t lie to her. He wouldn’t.
“He was being a little weird on the phone the other day. He asked me if I would watch her, and I said yes. He told me about your plans,” she says with raised eyebrows, “and then I told him, you know. That he better treat you right, because you just had a baby not that long ago and you might be a little self-conscious about jumping back into the sack like that; not that you should be, because you look amazing.” She racks her brain for the first time he started acting strangely, pulling away from her, and it would have been after his conversation with Haley. She asks, just to confirm.
“Is that when he got weird?”
“Actually yeah. He changed his mind, said you might not need me to watch her after all, but I told him the offer stood. He was pretty quick to get off the phone after that.” She would sip her coffee, but she’s pretty sure her hands are shaking. Why would he lie about that?
“You know, I should go. I’m sure Aaron’s pulling his hair out with her, she’s been a devil today. Tell Jack I love him and I’ll talk to him tonight, will you?”
“Of course. If you change your mind about Mia, just let me know,” Haley says, and she gets into her car with tears stinging her eyes.
When she gets home, Aaron is playing with Mia on the living room floor. He looks up at her with a smile that abruptly falls when he takes in her facial expression.
“What’s wrong?” She composes herself, takes a deep breath. They vowed a long time ago not to argue in front of Jack or Mia. She tries to sound conversational.
“You lied to me. You said Haley couldn’t take Mia this weekend.” He swallows and looks properly guilty. She’s not sure how he was able to lie to her in the first place; he’s never been any good at it.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have. I just didn’t know how to say it.” She looks up, shakes her head, wills her eyes not to water while she’s trying to have this conversation.
“You didn’t know how to say what? What is it that’s made you distance yourself from me?” She recalls him physically pulling away, then doing a complete 180 and initiating sex, but never penetrative sex, never letting her touch him or return the favor in any way. “Haley told me about your conversation. So do you think I’m unhappy with my body, or are you unhappy with my body?” He has the nerve to look confused, gets Mia set up with some toys she can play with safely on her own and stands up, comes close to her. She’s not sure she even wants his touch right now, which is saying something; when she’s unhappy, that’s usually all she wants.
“Neither of those things. I swear to god. I love you and I love your body; you’re so beautiful. Too beautiful for me, you always have been.” He’s looking down at her so seriously, and she wants so badly to believe him, but how could she, when faced with the evidence?
“Okay. If it’s neither of those things…” Her voice is small when she says the one option that hurts her most. “Did you change your mind? Do you not want to have another baby with me?” He sighs, deflates, and she takes a deep, shuddering breath.
“No, listen to me. It’s not that I don’t want that; I want that more than anything, but it will… further complicate, things...” He trails off, and she tries to follow what he’s saying. “The problem isn’t you in any way. It’s me.” She huffs, squeezes her eyes briefly shut.
“You? How can it be you, when you’ve been the only man to catch my eye for years? From the moment you set foot on my campus looking for your bad guy, I’ve been attracted to you, aroused by you, wrapped around your finger. You’re so perfect for me: perfect husband, perfect dad, perfect lover. My best friend. Never a day has gone by where I haven’t wanted you.” He wets his lips, sighs.
“Surely you’ve noticed that since I quit my job and started staying home with Mia, I… I don’t look the same. I’ve… let myself go.” His brows are deeply furrowed, and he’s clearly struggling with this; she reaches for him, no longer angry—at least for the time being—puts a hand on his arm.
“I’ve noticed that you don’t quite look the same. Doesn’t mean you’ve ‘let yourself go,’ or that I’m not still attracted to you; you just have a dad bod now instead of an ‘FBI guy who punches people for a living’ bod.” Her other hand hovers, then comes to rest on his stomach, and she smiles. “I’m actually really into the way you look now. I’ve been fantasizing about it for ages. I wish I’d known you were feeling self-conscious.”
“I’m not used to feeling… self-conscious, vulnerable,” he breathes, but he presses into her touch, so she considers that a good thing. “I didn’t know how to handle it.”
“I get that baby, I do, but this is me. I would have done anything I could to make you feel better. You didn’t have to hide it from me. You didn’t have to lie. We could have talked about it.” She moves the hand on his arm to his face, guides him down for a loving kiss. “We’re equally to blame, because I know you haven’t been getting good sleep, and I know you barely have time for yourself, and I didn’t step in; but you never let me help. If roles were reversed, and it was me staying home with Mia, you would never expect me to do all the cooking and cleaning and homework and bath time without your help. So you need to let me help, Aaron, please.” She looks up at him, eyes warm and sincere, and he nods, bends to press a kiss to her lips.
“I’m sorry. I still don’t feel great about… myself, but maybe I could. If I let you help. If I took some time for me.” She nods and wraps her arms around him—finally—for a hug.
“I love you so much. Just like this. Big, cuddly papa bear, taking care of our babies, making our home a safe and happy place for them. How could I not love the body that brings me so much happiness? That makes me excited to get in my car and come home at the end of every day?”
They kiss some more, deep, healing kisses and soft, sweet kisses, but she doesn’t get distracted by them. She’s very focused, caresses him and brushes loving fingertips over his chest and arms and sides. But speaking of distractions…
“Were you doing all those sexy things to try to distract me from wanting you to get all up on me?” she asks, pulling back, and at least he has the decency to flush.
“Kind of? I figured if it was sex you wanted, you’d be happy to get off however it happened; it was great for me too, don’t get me wrong, I just didn’t really want to be touched, feeling the way I felt.” She frowns, rests her head against his chest and holds him tighter.
“That makes me sad. What I wanted was an intimate moment with my husband, and while yes, what you did for me was great, because you’re super hot and very capable,” she says, leaning back in his embrace with a soft smile, “it’s not what I’ve been wanting. I want you all naked and sweaty and heavy on top of me, going to pound town.” He presses his lips together and raises his eyebrows.
“Pound town? What are you, twelve?” She grins, shoves his chest, and he laughs.
“I’m surrounded by college kids all day, please forgive me. I think it got my message across though.” She touches his cheek, looks up into his eyes, and sighs. “Can we take Mia over to Haley’s and give it a shot? I’ll do anything to make you feel happy and comfortable, any position that makes you feel better—though what I’d really like most, if you’ll trust me, is to suck your dick, and then hop on your dick, and then later when we’re ready to go again, we do the pound town thing and make another goddamn baby.”
She’s so serious, and he looks so serious, and then he kisses her and says yes and they pack up their kid and take her to his ex-wife’s so they can get it on, which sounds so much crazier than it actually is. She gets him out of his clothes, doesn’t move slow or spend lots of time focusing on what he thinks are flaws; instead, she proves how desirable he is by practically tearing his pants off and pushing him against the bed and swallowing around his dick just so she can hear all those delicious moans she’s been missing.
After that, she rides him hard, kisses him harder, plants her hands on his chest and stomach and moans and groans against his mouth. “So fucking hot, seriously so fucking hot, Aaron—if I saw you across the room today I wouldn’t change a goddamn thing, I would still pursue you, I’d make you blush like I did back then. I’d be so forward because I wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about how good this would feel.”
She’s rocking his world, no doubt about that; it’s written all over his face, in the hardness of his hands on her hips as she grinds down on his cock, in the way his chest is heaving despite not actually doing any of the work at all. He comes first, and then rubs her clit while she continues to fuck him until she finds her own orgasm; she scratches her nails down his stomach, and he leans up and grabs her face for a rough, perfect kiss.
They take a break, cuddling and kissing and enjoying the feel of bare skin, comfy bed, soft lips. Aaron touches her cheek, tells her how much he loves and appreciates her.
“I’m so sorry I’ve been keeping this inside, and not being truthful. It’s hard, when you’re as perfect as the day I met you, and I’m…” She presses a finger to his lips, shushes him, kisses him.
“You’re as perfect as the day I met you, too. More perfect, even, because every day since then you’ve chosen me, and our family. I could not ask for a better man. Simply could not, Aaron. And if you want me to come home early so you can go to the park to run, or to the gym, then that’s what I'll do, but if you look like you do right now, forever, I’ll be happy with that too. Whatever makes you happy.”
They snuggle and kiss and talk and laugh, and then laughing becomes sex in that way everything becomes sex when you’re genuinely obsessed with the person in your bed.
He gets her on her back, kisses all over, teases her—“mmm, rubbing your kitty, baby, how does it feel?—and then puts her legs over his shoulders, plants his hands, and fucks, taking every ounce of his pent-up frustration out on her, and it’s incredible.
“Yes, Aaron, yes, baby, oh, god.” Her head is thrown back, and she’s torn between laughing, because she’s been wanting this for months and it’s exactly as awesome as she’d dreamed it would be, and crying, because she fucking loves him, so much it puts a lump in her throat.
“Fuck, baby,” he groans, speeds up, sweaty and gorgeous and smiling. “You’re going to come with me—not just for me, but with me, so my come gets deep inside, so it works and we get another perfect baby who never lets us fucking sleep.” She nods frantically, presses her hips against his, and it’s not simultaneous, but it’s a near damn thing, when they both come groaning each other’s names. A little less than a year later, they have Mason. Aaron is at home in his dad bod, Mia doesn’t cry at naptime, Jack is still a menace in the mornings, and their perfect little family got a little more perfect. Drastic Measures- Part 1
@daminette-december2019-2020
~Inspiration~
*Emerges from my hole*: oh ho ho~ we have another month of inspiration on our hands!
Next
-------------------
Marinette steps through the portal immediately collapsing; she doesn't drop the transformation until she hears Chat drop down next to her. She calls the transformation of both the Horse and Ladybug miraculous, knowing Chat will close his eyes without her asking, Marinette does the same for him as he calls off his own.
They stay like that, panting on the rooftop. It’ll be sunrise soon, Marinette knows what she has to do.
“He’s moved,” She breaks the silence. Stating the obvious, they’ve known this for months.
“At least he wont be bothering Paris anymore,” Chat laughs, without any humor.
“But Gotham is so much worse,” Marinette groans, “We can’t keep doing this, not like we are, Spots on,”
Marinette stands letting the transformation wash over her while keeping her eyes shut, this will be easier to say without looking at him anyway.
“Chat Noir, hand over your miraculous,” Marinette recoils at the wounded sound he makes, “I have to leave Paris,”
“What? No! Claws out!” Marinette opens her eyes to see Chat, furious and with tears in his eyes, “I’m coming with you!”
She thought he would say that. Probably would have hurt if he didn’t.
“I can’t just ask you to leave your life, your friends,” Marinette chokes up, “Your family,”
“And what about you?!” Chat says with such heartbreaking sincerity, “Who will you be leaving behind!?”
“... Everyone,”
But she had put it off for too long. Hawkmoth slowed his attacks in Paris months ago, they thought he was giving up… then he attacked Gotham. The attacks in Paris stopped. The ones in Gotham were so much worse. She thought… she thought she could keep it up, jumping through a portal every time Gotham needed her. It was the best of both worlds. Her family and friends were safe and she could still defeat Hawkmoth. But nothing was ever that easy. Gotham needed her, completely, with undivided attention. Paris didn’t. Gotham needed Ladybug more than Paris needed Marinette.
“Not me,” Chat breaks Marinette from her thoughts, gently holding her shoulders, “I’m coming with you,”
She should argue. She planned to argue, every detail ever rebuttal. But she was weak. Marinette so desperately wanted him to come. To have someone, anyone there for her. No not anyone she wanted Chat by her side. Her partner through thick and thin. The one who would help her take down Hawkmoth. It was so unbelievably selfish.
She wanted him with her more than she wanted him to live his life here.
“Chat you realize we can’t tell anyone,” They could make the connection, they would try to stop them, or worse, follow them. If they went to Gotham alone at least they wouldn't have a life outside of this, they could focus wholly on taking down Hawkmoth, and maybe finally succeed, “... we have to run away,”
“Bug a boo that's the fun part,” Chat teases, Marinette couldn't see how leaving her friends and family would be at all fun, “... sorry… I know you’re leaving a lot behind,”
“If you do this-”
“When I do this,” Marinette raises a brow at him, he does it right back.
“We should reveal our identities,”
“Oh no, what a shame,” Chat dramatically ‘faints’, “Damn that makes this so much harder,”
“You know what?” Marinette ‘thoughtfully’ taps her chin, “I can probably find a new Chat Noir,”
“No, no! Sorry,” Chat immediately stands back up, “That’s obviously not why I’m doing this,”
“I know kitty,” Marinette smiles, getting him to relax, “But you need to think this over, I’m… I’m going to go pack,”
“Don’t need to think it over,” Chat smirks, “Claws off!”
“Chat! NO!” Marinette yelps, chiding, before actually processing who it was standing before her, “Adrien?!”
“Uhh, you know me?” Adrien stands there so awkwardly Marinette just burst into laughter, “Ummm,”
“S-sorry it’s it’s just,” Marinette held her sides as she kept cracking up, “Spots off!”
Her transformation fell and at that moment Marinette couldn’t even manage to feel any anxiety at him finding out, the ‘o’ face he made was too priceless. Before she could even think of being nervous Adrien also bursts out laughing, the two ending up as wheezing messes on the rooftop. It took a long while and lots of giggling to calm down.
“Well at least I’m not leaving all my friends behind,” Marinette says to the sky, “That is if you still want to come?”
“Meet you here tomorrow Marinette,” Adrien stands up, offering a hand to Marinette, “Same time,”
“See you kitty,” Marinette waves as they part ways, for now. She had a lot she needed to do today.
Marinette doesn't sleep when she gets home. She searches deep in her draws for that special fabric she put aside. Flips through her sketchbook to find that perfect design she did once. Then gets to work making a pattern. It is well past sunrise by the time she is done. She’s late for school. It doesn't matter anymore.
Not running to class for once she makes sure her parents are free later that night. She’d like to spend all day with them, but Marinette wants to see her friends one last time. She stuffs her bag with all the presents she had made her friends for future birthdays. Might as well give them now. Lila smirks at her as she walks into class, Marinette would usually worry. It doesn't matter anymore.
“Hey girl, I was wondering, Lila said some-” Marinette cuts her off, handing Alya a pile of wrapped gifts.
“Hi, sorry I’ve been busy, kind of went into a design frenzy,” Marinette laughs sheepishly, “I was going to give them at your birthday, but I just couldn't wait,”
“Awe, girl this is amazing!” Alya holds up the jacket Marinette made a few months ago, she hugs Marinette tight, “See I told you, Lila, Marinette's just been busy!”
“Too busy to make me anything, I’m sure,” Lila says, teary eyed.
“Actually no,” Marinette smiles, enjoying the utterly shocked look.
“I made this to welcome you to the class, but then you went to Achu,” Marinette places it down with open hostility, “And, well, there wasn't really an opportunity after that,”
After that Lila has a hard time trying to twist it against her. Even the complaints that the bandanna is so much smaller than everyone else's gifts is weak as it has beautiful embroidery of a fox and ladybug, everyone cooing over how sweet and personal the design is. Back when Marinette actually believed her lie that they could start over and be friends. It also was hard to turn anyone against Marinette as she handed out presents to anyone that walked through the door. Laughing and apologizing for her absence lately, claiming the whole time she was making things for them.
When Adrien came to class they both tried to stifle their laughter. Marinette only gave him one thing, so as not to be suspicious. It would help to have all new clothes when they ran away, she would give the rest to him then. It was a scarf, one she made a while ago with the new addition of a green cat paw in the corner.
Marinette, for all intents and purposes, felt wonderful for the rest of the day. She caught up with her friends, felt closer to them than she had in a while actually. They talked and laughed, Marinette for once not encouraging them to keep quiet, joking along with them, and taking a million pictures. Madame bustier didn't complain much, after all, she had an all-new makeup bag plus more.
It was fun. And the ‘see you tomorrow’ was hollow.
Marinette was dreading going back home. She asked for a special dinner that night, saying she had a special surprise to show them. And special it was, Marinette had made a new dress for her Maman, a more casual version of her wedding dress, with a special Marinette flare, plus a matching outfit for her Papa. They smiled saying it was beautiful, just as they had with her very first design and everything she made since then. They ate together and played video games together.
Marinette asked to look at old photo albums and they spent the rest of the night pouring over them. If she slipped a few out to take with her, neither noticed.
“I love you both,” Marinette hugs them tight, imagining she’ll never see them again.
Even if they do defeat Hawkmoth, Marinette's not sure she’ll make it through the fight. She could be gone for years, or maybe never return to Paris. Marinette didn’t know if she’d ever see them again, this could be it.
“We love you too,” Her Maman smiles, cupping her cheek, “Now go to bed we don't want you to be late for school tomorrow,”
Sorry I will be
Marinette just nods, hugging them one last time before heading upstairs. She packs her bag, full of newly brought or made clothes, clothes for Adrien, food, and whatever cash she had on hand. She leaves a note, saying there's something she has to do, that she loves them both and this is in no way their fault, not to look for her but Marinette doubts they’ll listen. She grabs her bag and the miracle box, saying goodbye to her home and disappearing into the night with Tikki.
By the time she meets up with Adrien Marinette is a sobbing mess. They hug each other. Adrien's not crying but she can sense the deep sadness in him. Tikki hugs her too, getting Marinette to calm down.
“So what’s the plan?”
“Go to Gotham,” Marinette shrugs, that was really the extent of it.
“We have nowhere to go,” Chat hums, trying to act nonchalant about everything,
“I guess this means we’re homeless,” Marinette shrugs again, she had really only planned this for herself, and none of that seemed like a concern.
“We can find an abandoned warehouse, set up shop,”
“Either way we’re going to be pretty busy,” Constantly on the run, either running from someone or running after someone.
“Well, you know what they say,” Chat smirks, “We’ll sleep when this bastard is taken down,”
“You know it,” Marinette smiles, genuinely this time, “Pound it?”
“Pound it,”
---
“After last week we can indeed confirm these attacks are occurring,”
“Oh sure it wasn't like I told you a month ago,” Jason scoffs, getting glared at by Bruce for interrupting.
“Well you have to admit ‘this guy came and destroyed ten blocks’ is pretty unbelievable when everything’s unscratched,” Tim continues to tap away at his computer, “And now we know the cause,”
The footage was shakily taken from the next building over, partly destroyed. With a bright light everything was fixed.
“Magic,” Dick says needlessly.
“Meta humans,” Batman growls, “Not approved and playing at being heroes,”
“Can we really complain if they fix everything after a fight?” Duke speaks up, “The police didn't even report any casualties, they don’t seem to be rookies,”
“Magic makes them reckless,” Batman shuts the argument down, “More so if they can fix everything, what happens when they can’t?”
“So basically you want them out,” Damian cuts in, there was no point arguing over it for however long, Bruce wouldn't allow them to keep roaming the city.
“Yes,” Bruce fixes them all with a hard stare, making it clear this is an order, “When you come in contact tell them they are to leave or be removed,”
They all agreed. Damian wishes he didn’t have to waste his time worrying about some second rate wannabes thinking they could challenge Batman for the protection of Gotham. They couldn't. What did they have that Batman didn’t?
---
A lot was the answer.
Or this particular new villain. It didn’t make any sense, usually, first time villains were easier to deal with, but no, here Robin was watching as Batman fought a losing battle against them. It didn’t help that they were brainwashing civilians, turning them against the rest. Robin was given very specific instructions not to harm them. Hard when they had no such orders.
Robin barely processes that Batman is thrown through a building before the main villain is turning to him. At least he could use more drastic measures with the actual villain, unsheathing his sword Robin lunges. He trades a few blows, unfortunately doing less damage than the villain can do with a singular super powered punch. With super strength, magic and Gotham citizens being steadily taken over this was looking more like a Justice league threat by the second. Everytime the villains should be down for the count they got back up, Damian couldn't find their weakness.
Robin knows he took a wrong step as the villain doesn't rush forward to take advantage but shoots out a beam, the same one Damian had just watch turn a civilian against the rest of his family. And he has no leverage to dodge. This would be so much worse than the civilians, setting his strength against the others? Without concern for killing them? Would Damian remember?
“Watch out!” A wire wraps around Robin, yanking him out of the way. He falls at someone's feet the wire slipping away, he can hear it whirling above him.
Damian sits up, looking to who grabbed him, ready to fight if necessary, and- Loses his breath.
She's standing over him protectively, a makeshift wire shield repelling the beams that had been causing them so much trouble with ease. Like it was second nature. She looks down at him and smiles so gently, without a hint of fear or worry. Promising she has everything under control.
There's something to be said of Batman's intimidating, steady nature. It can put people at ease in its own way and be even more effective at cutting down enemies with a glare. But this? This is warmth, assurance, a steady appearance more in line with Wonder Woman yet still completely it’s own.
“You alright?” She holds out a hand for him.
Damian snaps out of it taking her hand startling at how she actually lifts him up without any effort on his part.
“Chat you ready?”
“Ready my Lady!”
My lady? Who’s Chat?
His answer comes a second later as a spotted container comes crashing down, fracturing the street. In an instant, the wire wraps around the container a hundred times over.
“Now!” My Lady commands.
“Cataclysm!” Chat yells out, the container crumbles under his touch, wire moving in to constrict around the villain.
The villain thrashes, still being able to send out beams wildly and with their minions closing in. Chat breaks off to fend them all off while Robin tries to catch his breath, Batman still in the rubble of a building. My Lady can’t hold the villain back and fight at the same time. Damian struggles to stand up and help her.
“Lucky charm replay!”
Robin cringes at the bright light then watches as another spotted object falls into her hands. It’s a bent tube she looks around for a few seconds before holding it up. Damian rushes forward as a beam races towards her and she makes no effort to dodge. She catches it with the tube sending it back to the villain, it hits them square in the chest with no effect. Lady nods to herself before doing the same with the next beam. This time robin watches as it misses the villain, grazing their ear and sending their ear peice flying off.
“Chat!”
“On it!” Chat Noir catches the earring from midair, calling cataclysm again turning it to dust.
Damian watches not willing to let his jaw drop as the hideous villain transforms into a normal civilian. It’s such an intriguing sight that Robin startles when something flies towards Chat Noir snatching a purple butterfly from the air and pulling it back to My Lady. A few seconds later a white butterfly is flying out a… yo yo?
“Bye bye little butterfly,” She waves the glowing white butterfly away.
That was so cute
“Who are you?” Batman demands having just recovered, motioning for them to circle around them.
“Uh, your welcome,” Chat Noir scoffs, helping the previous villain up.
“I am Ladybug, this is my partner Chat Noir,” Partner? “We’re the previous heroes of Paris,”
“Paris has no heroes,” Batman glares at them, civilians around them still closing in Robin turns his defenses towards them.
“Then that makes the past what six? Seven? Years really awkward,” Chat Noir looks at Ladybug who shrugs, a civilian takes a swing at her she dodges smoothly before throwing the pipe in the air.
“Miraculous Ladybug!” Now Robin's jaw does drop as a thousand glowing ladybugs swarm around the nearby buildings, maybe all of Gotham not even leaving a scratch behind.
“Why are you in Gotham now then?” Batman recovers first, civilians nearby blinking back into reality.
“Hawkmoth has moved his operations to Gotham to feed off the negative emotions here,” well there’s plenty of that here “It makes his Akuma more powerful and we can no longer continue to operate from Paris,”
“Then he’s in Gotham now and is my problem,” our problem “I can handle this,”
“Well you did a great job of that,” Chat Noir rolls his eyes, leaning on his staff, “How's your back by the way?”
“Chat Noir,” Ladybug scowls, then turns to Batman, “You can’t and it’s my responsibility as Ladybug and as guardian of the miraculous,”
“What's that-”
Nightwing is interrupted by a beeping from Chat Noir's ring.
“It would be that, we have to go now,” Chat Noir salutes moving to leave, they tighten their circle surrounding them.
“You will leave Gotham,” Batman demands, this time its Ladybugs turn to glare she tsks and rounds on him, not managing to seem that threatening in her brightly colored costume.
“You don’t know who Hawkmoth is, you don’t know what Akuma are, you don't know about the miraculous, you have no clue about the guardians, you hadn't heard of whats been happening in Paris for years and you don’t know who we are or what we’ve done,” Batman is shocked under the forces of the heroine's righteous fury, “There are things going on here that you don't understand, we are here to stay until hawkmoth is defeated,”
Robin watches as she leaves a shell shocked Batman behind dissapering into Gotham’s night with her partner.
Inspiring
—-
“And why can’t they be in Gotham?” Damian demands from him yet again.
“No metahumans,” Bruce sighs, Damian had been unreasonably stubborn on this front, “They only cause more damage,”
“Actually they repaired a lot,” Damian leans over the desk to glare over that him, “And saved you,”
“Go to bed,” Bruce demands, Alfred busy patching up his wounds. Damian scoffs before storming out of the cave, still half in his robin uniform, “Whats wrong with him?”
“I couldn’t say, master Bruce,” Usually for Alfred that meant he knew exactly what was going on. He tied the final bandage before holding the phone out, “There's a call for you,”
Bruce shrugs on his shirt before answering. It wasn't the phone reserved for business so at least it wouldn't be that big a pain in the neck.
“Bruce,”
Never mind
“Talia,” Bruce growls, going to glare at Alfred who had already made himself scarce, “What do you want?”
“Oh please I’m not up to anything sinister,” Bruce can just imagine her waving him off with a smirk, “This time,”
“But you still want something,” Bruce acknowledged, sinister or not she can cause a lot more trouble without being out too.
“A missing person case, a friend of mine got in touch, her daughter ran away yesterday, l thought it would be right up your alley,”
“Why would you tell me this,” There was obviously more to this, there always was with Talia, “And more importantly why do you care,”
“Oh because she’s Sabine's daughter,” Bruce freezes, a million case files and reports flashing through his mind, none of which outlined a daughter let alone a family, “Surely you’ve heard of Sabine?”
“... We’re on the case,”
“Great, good luck~”
Now he has to worry about potentially one of the most dangerous assassins in the world on the loose. A shift in the shadows catches his eye before disappearing. Great. And now the whole family knew, or would soon.

i really don’t know what this is but single dad bokuto is fun fosho
——————————————————————
“Bokuto I had so much fun tonight. The pier was a great choice.” you smile up at your boyfriend. He has a lazy smirk on his lips and his eyes scan over all your features just adoring the person in front of them.
“Yeah, I had an amazing night as well y/n.” his smile fades a little. He looked as if he was hesitant to tell you something.
“Bo? Are you okay?” you reach up to hold his face. He takes a few seconds before taking a deep breath and kissing your hand.
“Yeah, I just need to tell you something but I don’t know-how. I feel kind of bad for keeping a secret for the past two months.” he sighs. You hug him reassuringly and he wraps his arms around you tightly.
“I promise whatever it is I can handle it. We’re adults Bo, I’m not gonna go crazy.” you squeal as he picks you up to where you are now looking down on him. You both share a long kiss before he breaks away.
“Alright, is it okay if I bring you back to my house?”
“Are you trying to make a move on me? It’s gonna be the first time I'm at your house.” you joke.
“No no of course not baby.” he laughs and carry’s you back to the car.
You two drove a while to his house, not to your surprise it was very nice. You’d expect that from a professional volleyball player though. Bokuto nudges your arm, you turn to him and he gives you a quick kiss. His eyes were full of worry and he was fidgeting with his hands. You place your hands on his stroking you thumb across his knuckles. After he clamed down he led you up to the front door. His keys jingled as he was unlocking the door and you could hear tiny taps on the ground from inside. Then a thought came to mind. On your first date you had told him that you didn’t like dogs because they make your anxiety bad. You thought cute that he was worried about upsetting you over something as small as this. When he opened the door a little girl wearing his MSBY jersey on.
“Daddy! You came home eary!” the little girl jumped in his arms he picks her up and swings her around. She giggles happily hugging his neck.
Daddy, huh. Out of all the things I was expecting, this was the last of them.
One of Bokutos friends, Akaashi, walked from behind the door and greeted us. He got on to the little girl for going outside with out his permission and talked to Bokuto for a little while.
“Thank you so much for babysitting Akaashi. You remember Y/n right?” He looks over to me and smiles and softly.
“Of course, it’s good to have someone else babysit Bokuto for a little while. You three have a nice night.” He says walking back to his car. We all wave goodbye as he drives away.
“Daddy who’s that?” the child ask. Bokuto turns his body to face you so she could get a better look. You smile at her sweetly and wave but she shys away in her father arms.
“Bug this is y/n. Her and daddy have been hanging out alot recently and I wanted you to meet her.” Bokuto explainssteping closer to you. “Y/n this is Akemi, my daughter…” he look at you with hopeful eyes searching for a positive response. You carefully put your hand on Akemis back rubbing it slowly.
“It’s nice to meet you Akemi.” she lifts her head up at you looking back to Bokuto and you a few times. She plays with her fingers nervously just like Bokuto does. You study her smaller hands and her other facial feature. She looked just like Bokuto, almost like a twin.
“It’s nice me meet you too Miss Y/n. Are you the reason why Uncle akaashi keeps coming over to watch me?” You and Bo laugh, he pats her hair ruffling it.
“How about we go inside and I can explain okay bug?” she nods her head andn Bo leads you into the house. When entering the living room you saw blankets strategically held up and pillows making a walk way. Akemi jumps down from her dad’s arms and runs over to the fort.
“Look daddy! Me and Uncle ‘Kasshi made a fort!” she proudly yells. Bo chuckles at his daughters random burst of confidence. He sits you on the couch and places Akemi in his lap.
“Okay i’m gonna tell you whats going on but remember…”
“...the ugly words stay in my head. I know daddy.” she finishes his sentence for him. Bokuto was surprisingly very mature with his daughter. You could already tell that he was a great father. Though you were still a little in shock that he had one because that means she has a mother as well.
“Good job. Okay so, me and Y/n have been...going on dates. This is daddys girlfriend. Okay?” he speaks slowly, like she was going to explode if he said the wrong thing.
She sat and thought for a moment both of us scared, then she finally gasped and yelled.
“EW DO YOU TWO KISS AND STUFF THATS GROSSSSS!” We both erupt into laughter to the point where we were tearing up. I take her hand and whisper to her.
“Of course we don’t boys are stinking and gross.” she giggles and crawls into my lap.
“So what do you do then?”
“We go on some dinner dates. Sometimes your daddy will surprise me and take me somewhere fun like the movies.” I explain.
“Ohh can I come next time? I wanna see the new Kitty Force 2!”
“Well Miss Akemi I don’t see a problem with it if your daddy doesn’t.” she turn to him quickly wiht a pleading face.
“Please daddy. Can I go on a date with you and Miss Y/n? I promise I’ll be super good and clean up my toys.”
“Of course baby. It’s time for you to go to bed though it’s already 9:30.” Bokuto lifts her up and kisses her cheek which she does back to him. I wave goodnight and wait patently while they get ready for bed.
About ten minutes later Bokuto comes back into the living room. He tells me that Akemi wanted me to tuck her in tonight because she had something important to tell me. I tuck her in while Bo stands in the door. Akemi pulls on my sleeve and I turn my head. She rubs her sleepy eyes and sits up again to grab something from under her pillow. She takes out a handmade braclet and hands it to me.
“What’s this for?” I ask as she slips it onto my wrist.
“It’s a present because you make daddy happy and that makes me happy.” She lays back down looking up at me. “We are gonna be best friends okay? So we can have lots of playdates.”
“Yes ma’am. Goodnight Akemi.”
You and Bokuto head back to the living room. You sit in his lap as he just gazes down. Again he isn’t speaking his mind. You lift his head up with your fingers placing a gentle kiss on his lips. “Bo, don’t be so paranoid. I love her already. This doesn’t change anything about us okay?”
He lets out a relieved sigh and relaxes against the couch. Every negative thought he’s had for the past couple of weeks about you two meet had fled his mind.
“So, tell me more about her.” you say rolling over to get your own seat on the couch. His eyes widened at the thought of rambling about his little girl.
“Well she is 5 years old. Me and her mom met in college but when she found out she was pregnant she didn’t want anything to do with her so she left her to me. I haven't heard from her since. I think I'm doing a fine job though. She’s so sweet and funny. She wants to be a volleyball player just like me so we go out and practice on my days off. She’s terrible right now but I know she’ll get there one day. Akemi is my whole world. That’s why I was so nervous about you two meeting. I love you and all but if you two didn’t get along…I just have to put her before anyone, but I really didn’t want to lose you.”
His face held a saddened expression while yours held shock. Out of the 6 months you were dating you had never heard Bokuto tell you that he loved you. You didn’t say it either just out of fear that he would say he’s not there yet.
“You love me?” Bokutos eyes grew as the realization of what he said hit him. His face burned a bright pink.
“I- Well um yes. I’m sorry if it was too soon it just kinda came out.”
“I love you too, Bokuto. And I promise that I'm gonna love that little girl as much as you do.”
He smiled wide and fell onto your chest hugging your torso tightly. You both fell asleep like that in each other's brace. Only to be woke up in the morning by the paw patrol theme song.

Curiosity Killed The Cat | Owen Patrick Joyner
Requested: Yes/No
Hi! I was wondering if you can do an Owen imagine kinda based off his Instagram story of him finding a cat. I was thinking he’d actually find the missing cat though and come ring your doorbell at 4am bc he’s chaotic. You can decide everything. Thank you in advance!!!
A/N: The cat doesn’t actually die in this, it’s just a saying that i liked for the title, so don’t worry! It’s got a happy ending!
Pairing: Owen x Fem!Reader
Song(s) used: none
Warnings: none
Words: 3,949
A week. It had been exactly one week since y/n last saw her cat, Tunabean. The white, grey striped Ragamuffin cat had been absent from y/n’s apartment for way longer than she normally would be and it worried y/n to the point where she’d be out looking for the little rascal every night after work.
“Found her yet?” Jamila asked as she entered y/n’s apartment after coming home from work.
Jamila was y/n’s roommate and best friend since college. The two had lived together through their college career and decided to be roommates after too, as long as neither had significant others to go live with.
“No,” y/n’s lip stuck out into a pout as she feverishly reposted the message on all her social media platforms. “People have been tearing down my posters as well. Did you see the ones near Andrews Park? They were torn to shreds!”
Jamila pulled her lips into a tight smile before putting her bags on the dining room table and joining y/n on the couch. “Yeah, I saw. I’m really sorry, y/n. If you want, we can go and put up some more posters? Exchange the torn up ones with some fresh ones?”
“You’d do that for me?”
“Of course! Sweetie, I’d do anything to get little Bean home, you know that, right?” y/n nodded her head in response, though she wasn’t sure if she knew that.
Jamila wasn’t the biggest fan of Tunabean at first. She hated cats. Growing up, she’d always had a dog but never a cat. She didn’t trust the little rascals for one second. So, when y/n showed up with little Tunabean after having had what felt like the worst week of her life, Jamila was a tiny bit angry. But eventually warmed up to Tunabean when the little kitty seemed so placid, you could easily cuddle up to it on the sofa.
“Let’s go find Zach at his work, bribe him to print me more posters for cheap, hang ‘em up around town and then maybe Tino’s?” Jamila’s eyes lit up at the mention of her favorite restaurant.
She snapped her fingers and pointed finger guns at her best friend. “Sounds like a plan!” she said and wrapped her scarf tighter around her neck. It was a cold November day and no person could leave their house consciously without being bundled up into layers and layers of clothing.
“I hope Bean didn’t hide under a car and the owner didn’t tap the hood before getting in…” y/n muttered, her voice thick with worry, as they exited the apartment building and stepped into the blistering cold.
“I’m sure she just found a few boyfriends and is spending her time with them,” Jamila tried to reassure her, but knew all-too-well that Tunabean wouldn’t stay away this long, even if she had a lover cat to make little kittens with. She loved Jamila and y/n’s home too much.
“Are you slut shaming my cat right now?”
“Our cat,” Jamila corrected, causing a smile to find its way to y/n’s face, “And no, I am not. I’m just trying to be optimistic here, y/n.” Jamila tucked her cold hands into the pockets of her tan peacoat. “I’m sure Tunabean is alright.”
“What if she isn’t though? What if she’s like meowing somewhere in the middle of Norman and no one to hear her pleas?” Jamila rolled her eyes at how dramatic her best friend was being.
“Norman ain’t that big, sweetie. I’m sure if she’s meowing somewhere, we would’ve heard her already.”
“Exactly! Which means she’s either dead or god knows anywhere! She could be in Oklahoma City! We don’t know that!” y/n exclaimed loudly, using excessive hand gestures more so to keep herself warm than emphasis.
Jamila stopped in her tracks and grabbed y/n by the shoulders, stopping her too. “Stop being such a drama queen, y/n! I’m sure Tunabean is fine. Maybe she’s on an adventure or making new friends, you don’t know that!”
“You don’t care about our child, admit it,” y/n muttered. This rendered Jamila silent. “Admit you don’t care about our child, Jam!” Passer-byers shot them a weirded out glare, which Jamila sent right back.
“Oh, please! Don’t pretend there are no lesbian families in Norman too!” she yelled at them. The comical side of the whole situation made y/n laugh a tiny bit. “There’s that smile I like to see.” Jamila softly touched y/n’s chin with her knuckle before grabbing the girl’s hand in hers. The warmth of Jamila’s hand radiating through to y/n’s made her feel all toasty. “Let’s go print some posters!”
The girls reached a one-storey building with red decrepit letters stuck to the roof.
HOOPER PRINTING CO.
As y/n opened the glass door and held it for Jamila to walk in, the smell of ink reached her nostrils. Though not a very traditional scent to love, it reminded y/n of one of her best friends. It was like her brain just knew that the muscles in her cheeks would soon start to hurt thanks to Zachary. A boy the girls had met in college as Xana.
Jamila spotted the bleached blonde mop of hair immediately and signaled to y/n to sneak up to him. On their tippy toes, the two approached the tall slender man, and when they were close enough, they took in a deep breath and-- “Don’t even think about it,” Zach mumbled without even looking at them.
Jamila and y/n glanced at each other, cheeks puffed out from the breath they were holding. “How’d you--?” y/n didn’t even finish her sentence as she looked past Zach and her eyes landed on a tiny tv screen. Cameras, of course.
“Since when do you have security cameras?” y/n asked as she hopped onto the counter Zach was sorting invoices on.
He shrugged, “Sometime this week, I think.” His bright blue eyes met y/n’s as she sheepishly looked at him while kicking her legs. The boy sighed exasperated, knowing all too well what the girls are here for. “No. Not again.”
“Please, Zachy! Tunabean is still missing and her posters have been ripped down!” Her eyes teared up at the thought of her kitty being out there all by herself in Norman. All she could hope was that the creepy dudes from Doyle’s didn’t get their filthy paws on her little princess.
“Come on, Zach. You love that cat too!” Jamila chimed in, crossing her arms across her chest and glaring at him knowingly.
“Fine, come here,” he reached out his hand and y/n handed him the thumb drive on which she kept her self-made posters. “You’re gonna have to buy me Tino’s though.”
“We were going there afterwards, if you wanna join?” y/n’s voice was teasing and sly.
“I’m off at five,” he simply stated before pressing a few buttons on his desktop and waking up the printer closest to them. “How long has she been gone for?” he then asked after a few beats of silence. Y/N dropped her head and stared at her still moving legs for a moment.
“About a week,” she replied.
Zach pulled his lips into a tight smile. He reached his hand out and placed it gently on top of hers. “She’ll come back.”
“How can you be so sure? She might be hurt somewhere or dead and I won’t even know. I won’t even be able to say goodbye to her.” Tears pooled in y/n’s eyes as she thought of the sweet little kitten she had found in a ‘take one for free’ box on a curb one day. She was the last one left.
“I’m not sure, y/n. But I’d like to be optimistic. Besides, Tunabean is resilient and the most independent kitty I’ve ever known. She’ll survive. She’s probably out adventuring with some friends.”
Though the words weren’t very reassuring and y/n knew she had every right to be worried, they did calm her down a little. Tunabean was resilient and extremely independent. She’ll find her way back home.
*
“I’ll see you guys later, bye!” Owen waved at his friends as he stepped into the cold November night. It was 4 am and he was just returning home from a day spent with friends. He had fallen asleep during the movie, only waking up in the middle of the night, realizing his parents were probably worrying about him, seeing he’d told them he’d be home by midnight at the latest.
He softly hummed along to the song that was playing in his head as he walked down West Main Street, his hands tucked deep into his pockets to try and keep them warm. He should’ve brought a thicker coat or a thicker jumper.
“Ah, mister Joyner!” a familiar voice with a thick accent made him shake out of his train of thought about the cold. The friendly face of the robust Italian greeted him in the dim light of the restaurant behind him.
“Still working, Tino?” Owen asked as he stopped in his tracks to talk to the man everyone in Norman, Oklahoma loved.
“Already back at work, ragazzino!” he replied in his thick Italian accent. Owen always thought it was fake and just for show to lure clients, so that they knew he was a pure Italian man, sharing his love for the Italian cuisine in his restaurant.
“At four in the morning?!” Owen exclaimed, stunned at the man’s determination for his job.
“Deliveries don’t wait, signore.” His laugh boomed into the empty, dark streets of Norman. Owen couldn’t help but let out a laugh too while his eyes averted and landed on a poster in the window. A black-and-white picture of a small cat stared back at him.
MISSING: TUNABEAN
Grey-and-white striped ragamuffin cat, listens to the name Tunabean.
“She’s been missing for a week, the poor girl who owns her is worried sick,” Tino told Owen when he noticed what he was looking at. The blond twenty-year-old pressed his lips together. He only ever had a dog that had never run away, but he could imagine what it would be like to not know where your pet is. He would totally lose it if Bindi ever went missing.
“I feel sorry for her,” Owen said, unsure of anything else to say.
“Yeah, me too,” said Tino. “Keep an eye out for Tunabean, yeah?”
“I will.”
And with that, Owen continued his walk back home. The cat on the poster kept haunting his mind. Those big eyes were something he wouldn’t forget anytime soon. Thanks to said image plastered in his brain, he even started hearing meowing when he got to Andrews Park. It was a soft, fragile meow that had to echo through his brain for a few seconds before he realized it actually came from the bushes he was walking past as he passed through Andrews Park.
Curiously, and kind of feverishly, Owen started to dig into the shrubbery until he found a tiny cat. “Oh, don’t worry, little one. I got you.” He said as he carefully detangled it from the branches. As he held it up to his face, he found the big, round eyes from the poster staring back at him in real life. “Tunabean?” he cooed, and the cat tilted its head ever so slightly.
He stroked the cat’s head and scratched behind her ear before pulling it closer into his chest. She was shivering, but Owen wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or the fear. If she’d been missing for a week, God knows how long she must’ve been stuck in there.
“You hurt, little one?” he mumbled to it as he absentmindedly made his way to the one person he knew could help.
“Owen,” Emmy groaned when she’d opened the door to find him standing on the curb with a pout on his face. “It’s four in the morning, I have to be up in an hour for work.”
“That’s why I’m here,” he said and showed her the cat he had tucked in his jacket to keep it warm. “I found her in the bushes near Andrews Park. Can you check if she’s okay?” Emmy’s eyes darted from the cat to Owen and back. “Please, Emmy? You’re the only one I know could help her out.”
“Come on in,” she sighed, clearly disgruntled at the early wakeup call. But she couldn’t say no to a little kitty in need. She’d been rescuing animals since she was a little girl, she wasn’t going to leave this one in the dust.
Owen placed the cat on the table as it meowed and nudged Owen’s hand with her head. “It’s okay, Tunabean, Emmy here is gonna make sure you’re okay.”
“Tunabean?” Emmy asked as she put on latex gloves.
“Yeah, I think it’s the cat from the missing posters you see all around town?”
Emmy gingerly took the cat in her gloved hands and started her check-up. “Ah, yes! My brother and his buddies took some of them down, thinking they were ‘rebellious’.” She rolled her eyes. “You gonna bring her back?”
“Of course, Tino said the owner was worried sick about her.”
Emmy smiled at this. Owen had always been the compassionate one in their friend group. He’d only act upon things if he was sure it wouldn’t hurt anyone else. Though, sometimes that compassion vanished when they were with their friends and he got a ‘brilliant’ idea, which was most likely kind of dangerous.
“Oh, look,” Emmy whispered as she showed Tunabean’s paw. There was a thorn stuck in the little pad. “Poor thing! Hold her for a second, please? I’m gonna get my tweezers to get it out.” Owen placed a hand on the cat’s stomach, his fingers lightly scratching at the white fur.
Emmy returned with everything she needed, and within a few seconds, Tunabean was freed from the thorn in her paw and back on her feet. She suddenly seemed a lot more peppy than she was before.
“Let’s get you home, yeah?” Owen said as he scooped the kitten back up into his arms, holding it close to his chest. Emmy took her gloves off and scratched the cat’s head.
“Goodbye, Tunabean,” she cooed, earning licks from her rough little tongue. “Ooh, I think I got the girl’s address here somewhere. Tunabean is Anna’s client and we’ve got them in the system.”
As quickly as she’d said it, she’d handed the address over to Owen. After thanking her profusely, Owen went on his way with the cat tucked safely in his jacket for warmth.
He was nervous as it was already five in the morning and the woman most definitely was still asleep. But he didn’t want to keep her in even more suspense and worry about her cat as she already was.
“Hello?” a sleepy voice sounded through the intercom.
“Hi, I’m Owen, I think I got your cat, Tunabean?”
A silence fell, only Tunabean’s sleepy snoring disrupting the peace and quiet of the night. The poor girl had fallen asleep in Owen’s arms. He almost felt sad he had to give her away again.
It took a good minute before the door to the apartment building opened up and a girl in red flannel pj’s opened the door. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun with big strands falling out of it. Though she’d probably rather not be seen like this out in public, Owen thought she looked breathtaking, even in the dim light from the hallway of her corridor and the street lights.
“You really got Tunabean?” she asked as she held onto the door, squishing herself in the small opening she’d granted herself. Owen opened his jacket and carefully showed her the cat who’d woken up from her slumber. “Tunabean!” the girl exclaimed and grabbed the grey pet from the boy’s hands. Their fingers brushed ever so slightly, and though y/n was too busy with her cat, Owen felt it. He felt the spark.
“I would invite you inside for a drink to thank you, but my roommate is still asleep and I don’t want to wake her.” Owen held up his hand, a smile tugging at his lips as he shook his head.
“That’s okay. I don’t need a reward. I’m just glad I could reunite the two of you again,” he said, smiling at the girl and her cat. “Oh! She did have a thorn in her paw though, but my friend is a vet and I took her to her for a check-up before I came here.”
“Aw, poor Bean,” she scratched the cat’s head before turning back to the blonde boy. “Thank you. That’s very considerate of you.” He tipped his head forward, the smile still persistent on his lips.
“Glad I could help,” he repeated, jamming his hands into the pockets of his jacket again. “I’m gonna go though. I’m sure you’d rather go back to sleep right now than talk to a complete stranger on your doorstep.”
“Oh, uhm, okay… Goodbye then? And thank you again for bringing Tunabean back.”
Owen took a few steps backwards as he said, “You’re most welcome. Goodbye, Tunabean and…”
“Y/N.”
“Goodbye Tunabean and y/n.” His eyes lingered on hers for a few more seconds before he turned around to really make his way home now, no distractions.
“Wait! I didn’t catch yours!” she whisper-shouted after him.
He turned again, but kept walking. “Owen,” he said.
“Goodbye, Owen.” She grabbed Tunabean’s paw and waved at him with it, causing a giggle to rake through Owen’s body. With his hand still in his pocket, he waved back.
The more distance he created between them, the bigger his smile became as he thought of her. She was the epitome of a beautiful dream come to life. It made him wonder what she’d look like if she did put effort into her appearance. That could just be the death of him.
*
After two more hours of sleep, the alarm blaring through her room woke y/n from a beautiful dream with the mysterious blonde boy that rang her doorbell very early in the morning. It caused her to wake up with the thought of him, wondering if she’d ever see him again.
“Morning,” she greeted Jamila when she found her best friend in the living room, gathering all her stuff. “Guess who came home last night!” As if on cue, the little cat pattered across the hardwood floor towards the dark beauty that was Jamila. Her eyes widened as did her smile upon seeing the white-and-grey ragamuffin.
“Bean!” Jamila shrieked as she knelt down to pick the four-legged friend off the floor. “Oh, baby! I missed you!” She peppered the cat with kisses, receiving the kisses back from her tiny pink tongue. “Where’d you find him?”
“Oh, I didn’t. This guy, Owen, did. He brought her back at, like, five in the morning,” y/n explained as she absentmindedly smiled at the thought of those pretty blue-ish eyes.
“And this Owen guy is pretty cute, isn’t he?” Jamila asked upon noticing her best friend’s flustered demeanor. “Did you ask for his number?” Y/N rolled her eyes before she started gathering her things she needed for work.
“It was five in the morning, I had just woken up and I was too busy with Tunabean’s return to even think of that,” she explained, mostly cursing at herself for not asking his number. “Besides, I looked disgusting, I doubt he thought I was the epitome of beauty.”
Jamila simply shook her head, debating against saying any more about it before pressing a kiss to y/n’s cheek and leaving the apartment.
A silence fell over the space, leaving y/n alone with her thoughts. Her beautiful, yet annoying thoughts of the handsome boy at her front door. “He was handsome, wasn’t he, Tunabean?” she asked her cat, who simply tilted her head to the side as she sat in front of y/n on the floor.
Once y/n had gathered her stuff for work today, she said goodbye to Tunabean and left the apartment. She was fumbling around in her handbag to look for her car keys when a vaguely familiar voice made her look up.
The gorgeous blue eyes she’d been dreaming of for two whole hours were staring down at her whilst the plump pink lips curled up into a dreamy smile. “Oh, hey, Owen.”
“I wanted to come and check up on Tunabean,” he carefully said, pointing up at the building she’d just come out of. “You know, see if she’s okay and stuff.” He suddenly seemed nervous. More nervous than he did at five in the morning.
“Uhm, she’s okay, actually. Slept well and seemed very chipper this morning,” y/n reassured him, a smile playing at her lips as her eyes scanned his face. She made sure to make a mental note of every single detail of his face. Like how he stuck his tongue between his teeth as he smiled or how his eyes squinted slightly or the stubble faintly growing on his chin.
“Oh, okay, good. That’s--that’s all, then…” He awkwardly coughed.
Y/N awaited anything else, her eyes darting left and right as they just fumblingly stood on the curb in front of y/n’s apartment. “I-uhm… I have to get to work though, so…” She pointed somewhere behind Owen, indicating she needed to pass him and get going.
“Right!” he said and took a step aside to let her through. She offered him a little wave and a soft ‘bye’ as she passed him. He watched her walk away, cursing at himself for not asking what he really wanted to ask. “Wait!” he yelled, making her stop in her tracks and turn around again with an expectant look on her face. “That’s-that’s not what I wanted to ask. I mean it was, but it wasn’t the only thing I wanted to ask.” He scratched the back of his neck as y/n’s eyes searched for an answer on his face.
Y/N looked at him with a piercing glint in her eyes, urging him to continue.
“Oh, right! Uhm… Would you -- would you maybe wanna go have a drink with me later today? Or something?” Her smile grew wider as she slowly nodded her head in response.
“I’m off at five. Meet me at Gray Owl then,” she told him before turning to walk away.
Owen was left on her curb, wondering if he had died. He thought she looked pretty when she’d just rolled out of bed, but now that she was all dolled up for work, she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen. And that smile. That smile was killer.
She was more than the epitome of a dream come to life. She was beauty and grace. She was a poem and the poet. She was the lyrics and the melody. She was the question and the answer.
Owen grew more and more curious about that girl the more he thought of her. He wanted to know what she liked and what she absolutely hated. He wanted to know how she laughed and how she cried, if she sang whenever her mind wandered. He wanted to know how she liked her eggs in the morning.
Even though he knew curiosity killed the cat, he knew for a fact the cat in this story was just the beginning of something beautiful.

New Kid In Town | JJ Maybank Fanfic | Part Two: Drinks.
They were seated at a table on the deck overlooking the water at Hurricane Jacks, it was busy, being the height of tourist season and the 4th being right around the corner; but the chaos around them just made JJ focus even closer on the topic at hand.
With drinks in hand they both sat silently, unsure who should speak first, so JJ sipped his beer as Kitty traced the edge of the cup with her finger and they just sat.
“So….” JJ started “tell me. She’s mine, right?”
She nodded, “J, I’m so sorry.” And then buried her face in her hands, but continued “Honest to God, I thought you knew.”
“How would I have known Kitty? You dropped off the face of the earth!”
“I called you so many times! I left you a message as soon as I knew in September. When I never heard back from you I just figured you didn’t want to be involved.” She was staring intently at the drink in her hands now, afraid if she looked at him she would burst into tears.
It was true. Kitty had lived the last five years believing that JJ knew about their daughter and wasn’t interested in knowing her. It hurt, but it hadn’t surprised her. What 16 year old boy wants to raise the product of a summer fling? Initially when she found out she was expecting she had no intention of continuing the pregnancy, she had always been pro-choice, and she still was, but when it came down to it, she chose Rosie and she’d never looked back.
“Wait, you said September?” JJ questioned
“Yeah… we hooked up in August and I found out a month later..”
“Oh shit…” he breathed out
“Yeah that was my reaction exactly”
“No no, I never got your message because I was stranded on an island in September that year! My phone got lost in the water and I didn’t get a new one until weeks after I got back”. He couldn’t believe that it was that chain of events, chasing Ward and the Gold and the Cross that kept him from knowing about this little girl that was his.
“Wait what the fuck…Seriously? Stranded on a deserted island? That’s what you’re going with for why you didn’t get my calls?” Kitty responded doubtfully
JJ held his hand up as if he were swearing on the Bible “Hand to God Kitty, I’ll get John B and Sarah to tell you about it sometime” he took another sip of beer and continued his line of thought
“I just can’t believe this. I can’t believe Marshall never even said anything to me.” He blurted it out harshly, slamming his fist on the table, but then he took a moment to think about the words he’d just spoken and how wrong he really was.
JJ wasn’t a single bit surprised that Marshall hadn’t clued him in to what was going on with Kitty, not after their conversation on the porch the day she had left.
“I take that back, I know why he never told me. He was protecting you, just like he said he would.”
“What? When did he say that?” Kitty questioned
“The day you left, I came back to your house to say goodbye but I missed you. Your dad told me that it was his most important job to protect you, and that’s just what he did. He kept me away to protect you… and her”
“Rosie” she spoke softly
“Rosie” JJ said back with a smile “tell me everything”
Kitty's face transformed into a huge smile “she’s incredible”
For the rest of the evening the two sipped drinks and ate while Kitty told JJ all about their little girl. She regaled the story of her labor and delivery, explaining how she was in math class when she first felt the contractions and how it had taken nearly two days to bring Rosie into the world, eliciting wide eyes and shivers down JJs spine.
“Holy shit” he said as he shook his head “I wish I could have been there, but it would have been so awful to see you in so much pain”
Kitty smiled and nodded, “it was truly so awful, but it was all worth it when I got to see her and hear her cry”
Kitty then shared photos of Rosie as a baby and tons of photos she’d taken nearly every day since she was born. In more than one photo JJ teared up, It was all so overwhelming and amazing at the same time.
As they wrapped up the night and walked back to the truck, Kitty stopped and faced JJ, addressing him directly, “JJ I want you to know that I don’t expect anything from you. If you want to go on living as you were, I completely understand. It’s okay. We’ll be okay”
JJ nodded, and looked at his feet. He felt ashamed, not knowing what he wanted. “This has given me a lot to think about. I need some time to process”
“Of course, one hundred percent, I totally get it. I just want you to know that this is your out, you don’t have to be involved if you don’t want to be, but you do have to make a choice.” She wasn’t feeling nervous or timid in this moment, she had to stand up and be the mama bear, “We can’t go back and forth and play games, this is her life, so if you’re in, you’re in, no backing out. If you’re out, you're out and we’ll go back to the way it was before, okay?”
JJ was too overcome with thoughts and emotions to give her a response so he just nodded and they stood still for a moment, letting the weight of the decision hang in front of them. “I can give you a ride home?” He asked.
“Sure” she replied, and off they went. He drove to her dad’s house without another word. They pulled up to the Sheriff's house and JJ peered out the window, it still looked exactly the same. In the last five years he’d made it a habit to drive past whenever he was on that side of town. He never told Kiara but he just felt like that was his way of checking in, even if he wasn’t actually doing anything proactive.
Kitty slid out of the truck and shut the door behind her, leaning in the open window and claiming the last word, “You just let me know, okay? If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you’ve made up your mind”
She turned and made her way up the drive, the lights were off and he assumed Marshall had put Rosie down for bed already.
He had so much to think about, but he knew he’d never be able to sleep, so he put the car in gear and drove off. He drove for hours, making his way down the outer banks from island to island, and finally when he saw the sun starting coming up he turned around and headed home.

May I request Satan reunites MC with their cat who passed away before the exchange programme? (I have a HC that Satan’s domain in hell is the cat heaven)
Forever My Kitty
Satan x gn!mc fluff
Summary: While mourning the loss of their dearest feline friend, MC is summoned to the Devildom, where she meets a fellow cat lover who end up aiding her in the best way possible
A/N: I love this prompt I need my soft angy man and YES HIS DOMAIN IS CAT HEAVEN, also naming the cat whiskers because its the most simple generic cat name I can think of
Mourning the loss of your pet is not the ideal time to be summoned to Hell. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to MC, they showed up to the Devildom with tears running down their face, nose red and runny, and glossy, puffy eyes to top it all off. Just minutes before they’d been summoned they’d discovered the frail lifeless body of their beloved feline, Whiskers.
“Seems like bad timing, I’ll try making this quick so you can get to your new home faster,” a man with tanned skin, golden eyes, and blood-red hair spoke, coming closer with a handkerchief, and wiping the salty tears from their cheeks and giving a soft smile.
After Diavolo’s explanation of why MC was in the Devildom and who the hot demon men they’d be staying with were, MC was quick to crawl into their new bed and continue their sobbing session from earlier that day.
----
After a couple of weeks, MC had grown closer with the Demon Brothers. They eventually began to smile and laugh more, allowing the deceased pet to leave their mind for only moments at a time.
MC loved Satan, they thought he was the kindest and most patient out of all the brothers. They understood how much he loved cats, but every time cats were mentioned they couldn’t help the painful stinging in their chest.
Whiskers had been their pet since they were ten years old, losing them after all that time should have been easy, so why wasn’t it?
“MC,” Satan said waving his hand in front of their face, bringing them out of their own head and back into Satan’s room where they sat, studying together, “we’re going to fail the Human Culture exam if you don’t pay attention. When did you tune out? We can start from there,” he said softly, running a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated with MC’s attention span.
“Sorry. The last thing I heard was when we were discussing human world pets,” MC sighed, guilty for causing such trouble for the Avatar of Wrath.
“Are you allergic to cats?” Satan suddenly asked.
“Huh? No?” MC answered, confused about his question, suddenly growing a bit sad thinking about Whiskers once more.
“Cats make you sad, do you not like them?”
MC was a bit taken back. They had been so sure it wasn’t obvious. If I tell him and then he tells his brothers, then they will all call me silly for being so sad about the death of an animal, they wouldn’t understand, MC thought.
They snapped out of it when they felt a hand land on their cheek with a soft and careful touch. Satan had reached over to wipe tears off their cheek. They hadn’t even realized they’d began crying, but now that they were aware they’d already started, their walls broke down and they sobbed loudly.
A panicking Satan pulled them into his chest, letting them cry as he rocked them softly and whispered softly, “I apologize if you don’t like cats I won’t discuss them in your presence anymore-”
“No no no!” MC sat up quickly, worried that Satan was putting too much blame on himself. “If I tell you this... do you mind keeping it quiet and not telling the others? I think they’d find it silly...” MC looked up at him, teary-eyed and hiccupping.
Satan made a motion as if zipping his lips and throwing away the key, making MC smile a bit.
MC explained everything. “The day I was summoned to the Devildom, I showed up crying- you were there, right?” Satan nodded, "Just minutes before I was brought here, I went downstairs for breakfast. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I realized my cat, Whiskers, had not come to see me yet, which was odd as she showed up almost every morning to trip me. I brushed it off as her being old and tired as I saw her resting on the couch. After grabbing some breakfast I sat next to her and pet her. When I noticed how cold she was I tried not to believe that she'd passed away. I cried for a few minutes, preparing to say my final goodbyes and give her a proper burial," MC took a shaky breath and attempted to stop crying, "But just as I opened my mouth to say some final words to her, Diavolo was in front of me and I was no longer in my world."
Satan held MC tighter, "I am so sorry for your loss, MC," He whispered in their ear, "you can cry now. I'm here for you I promise, I won't let anything make you cry like this ever again, I swear on my life."
Satan picked up MC, bringing them over to his bed and laying down with them. When their breathing slowed down and it was obvious they'd fell asleep, he placed a chaste kiss on their forehead, before tucking them under his covers and heading to the library to find a book he knew would be able to help him make MC happy.
---
MC stirred, slowly peeling open their eyes and reaching their hand up to wipe the crust that'd formed on their waterline. When they tried lifting their hand though, they found a larger one intertwined with their own. They blushed and suddenly took notice of the larger body spooning them from behind, limbs tangled with theirs and warmth radiating onto their skin. They turned slightly, smiling towards the sleeping blond demon with red cheeks. Hesitantly, they removed their hand from his in order to wipe their eyes and see better.
As MC moved to lay back in their previous position and wait for Satan to wake up, they heard a purring sound from the lounge chair that sat a few feet from the bed, causing them to look up and gasp at the sight before them.
"Whiskers?!" MC shot up, accidentally kicking Satan in their struggle to untangle from the blankets. They fell off the bed, onto the book covered floor still tangled up in a sheet as they quickly crawled to the feline in front of them that had by now woken up and was also making their way to meet MC in the middle.
When MC's hand made contact with the familiar fur and the cat headbutted them with love, they began to cry. This wasn't a dream, Whiskers was here.
"I know the place where cats generally go when they die," a groggy voice came from behind the human. They turned and saw Satan laying on his side, softly smiling at them. "I pulled a few strings to find Whiskers and I brought her here. She's not a normal cat anymore though, she is stronger and has instincts to protect you."
"How so?" Satan reached over, pinching MC's cheeks harshly, to which the feline responded with a hiss and Satan just barely missed its claws. "Whiskers! Be nice to him," MC commanded. Whiskers looked at Satan with disgust, to which he laughed.
"Rescuing her came with a price though..." Satan said, MC tilting their head in response.
Satan pulled off his shirt, causing the human to turn red and look away out of respect for his privacy, no matter how badly they wanted to see him.
"Whiskers didn't seem to like me very much at first, but I think that we'll manage to get along for your sake," the blond said, walking over to MC. MC looked at him and gasped as they saw his abdomen had been scratched up, presumably by Whiskers. "She ruined one of my shirts AND I'm gonna have to listen to Asmo rant about my skin being ruined until further notice, therefore you owe me."
"Anything! I'll do anything to repay you, Satan!" MC smiled innocently, making Satan chuckle as he gripped their jaw softly with one of his hands, turning their face to him. They blushed as he put a hand on their nape.
"I want you to repay me, by allowing me to call you mine," Satan smirks, slightly blushing.
"Sounds like you're just doing ME another favor," MC smiled, tilting their head, brushing their lips against Satan’s softly. The man was about to fully kiss MC when suddenly there was a furry head, pushing them away from each other and begging MC for attention.
"Whiskers! Don't cockblock me!" MC scolded before giggling and wrapping the cat in their arms and crawling over to Satan to hold him as well. They felt complete for the first time in a long time.

A/N: For @kpopgirlbtssvt
You stared out your window at the glittering, snow-covered scenery, while you played with the Christmas-bells bracelet that your secret Santa had gotten for you. You loved it. You liked the gentle sound it made instead of the harsh jangle of the bells that someone had hung on your door, a cacophony of dissonance that made your tail curl.
You winced, turning toward the door as it opened. You weren’t sure why it would be opening, you’d just returned from breakfast and it wasn’t time for activities yet.
A stranger stood in the doorway, holding papers and a small gift bag. And while he didn’t look familiar, he smelled very familiar.
The one that had been observing everyone for adoption purposes for the past two weeks.
He smiled softly at you. “Hello, y/n. My name is Taehyung. I got you a Christmas present.”
You felt excitement bubbling up within you, and you slowly moved toward him.
He met you half-way, holding out the bag.
You carefully took it, bowing slightly, then carefully pulling the gift from the bag.
It was a charm bracelet, pretty and gold and shiny and it had three charms. One was a sleigh, carefully and intricately made with a bag of presents in the back. Another was a cute, but realistic looking bear. The last were simple mark-tags, ones that displayed your basic information and your owner’s….
You slowly looked back up at him. “You’re adopting me?”
He shook his head. “I have already adopted you. I’m bringing you home. I have more presents for you at home. I hope you can accept my first gift, though,” He said, looking hopeful.
You grinned and eagerly put it on behind your jingle-bracelet, admiring it in the morning light. You were being adopted!
He laughed a bit. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
“Yes, yes, yes,” You agreed, vibrating with excitement. You were getting the best Christmas present ever! You had an owner! You were being taken to a home!
“Y/n, your things?” The shelter worker prompted.
“Oh! Right!” You bounded toward the closet and grabbed your two dresses, your socks, and your shoes, putting them into the laundry sack, then got your 2 pairs of pants and 2 sets of pajamas and 3 shirts. “Ok!”
“Pillow? Friend?”
You squeaked in alarm and raced to the bed to grab the pillow and your stuffed calico kitty that had ears and a tail exactly like yours, then hesitated, hand on the old, worn blanket that you kept carefully folded over the end of your bed.
The worker nodded, smiling softly. “It’s yours.”
You grinned again and shoved those things into the sack as well. “Ready!”
“Uh, you might want to wear some shoes instead of slippers,” Taehyung suggested gently, looking just as happy as ever. Not scolding.
You stared down at your slippers for just a minute too long before diving into the sack and grabbing your shoes.
“Relax, kitten. We’ve got time to get home, it’s not going anywhere,” Taehyung said in a soothing tone as you fumbled with the straps of your shiny, black shoes. They looked cute with your red Christmas dress with the pretty white furry lining. You didn’t care what that know-it-all tabby three doors down said, you thought the shoes were cute. And they fit you, it was rare for shoes to actually fit properly, though the shelter tried their hardest to make sure all of you had at least one pair of shoes that fit properly, outside of the slippers which were bought in the proper sizes for everyone.
“Y/n! I found the…sash….” The other hybrid peered into the room, swallowing hard. “Oh…are you….”
“I’ve been adopted, Jiyoung!” You squeaked happily, dragging your sack over to her. “What did you find?”
“The sash, to the dress,” She said eagerly, grinning in happiness for you and then whipping the white sash around your waist and tying it in a big, fancy bow behind you. “There! Now it isn’t just a sack! I will tell you again, though, it was made to be a costume.”
“It’s pretty and soft,” You argued, hugging yourself.
She kissed your cheek. “Good luck in your new home, y/n. Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas,” You responded, voice a choked whisper. You were leaving your friends.
Someone gently took your sack of belongings from you. “Come on, y/n. Let’s go show you your new home.”
You looked back at the gentle, understanding expression on Taehyung’s face and melted a bit. “Okay.”
Jiyoung patted your arm and hurried back down the hall to the donations room where she helped out. She was one of the owner’s hybrids, so at least you knew she was loved.
“Everyone else is in the main room, they’ve been told you’ve been adopted and are waiting to say goodbye,” The shelter worker said gently, noticing your hesitation.
You nodded and took Taehyung’s offered hand, going to the main room.
And maybe you gave your jingle bracelet to the grumpy tabby from three doors down because you knew she’d been jealous of it and you wanted her to be happy and your secret santa had given you an approving smile.
You sort of bet that Taehyung might get you another if you asked really, really nicely.
Taehyung’s car was very nice, nicer than any vehicle you’d ever been in before, and he played Christmas music softly on the radio as if knowing you were nervous as well as excited.
“I understand the sleigh, because you’re adopting me on Christmas, right?” You asked, attention on the charm bracelet again.
He nodded, smiling.
“But what about the bear?”
He looked a little sheepish. “Um…well, I have this song. It’s called winter bear, so I thought after a while if you look at the bear charm you’ll think of it as part of me.”
You were purring before he even finished speaking, holding your wrist and the bracelet close to your heart while you stared out the windows at the Christmas decorations the people all bundled up.
He parked at a large apartment building, grabbing your things and offering to hold your hand again. “Anyway, I do sometimes travel for work. And I was hoping the charm might remind you of me if I’m not able to take you with me. I’m going to make sure to try and get you in every trip, because you’re my responsibility now, but there will be times even when you’re with me on a trip that you might be at the hotel while I’m working. If you can’t go with me on a trip, you’ll probably stay with my parents, and they’re really nice so I think you’ll like them and I won’t do anything you’re uncomfortable with. And—”
“Taehyung-ah,” You whispered, trying to be respectful since you weren’t sure how he wanted you to address him yet. “It’s a little cold outside.”
He blinked at you, then his eyes widened and his eyebrows rose. “You don’t have a coat!”
You shook you head.
He hurried you into the building then ran back and grabbed the sack when you pointed it out, before punching the button to the elevator and muttering about warming you up so that you wouldn’t get sick and how he was a terrible owner.
You patted his arm. “You’re not a terrible owner, and I’m not that cold. See, I’m not shivering. We can still have a nice Christmas.”
“Right,” He breathed, sounding relieved. “You sure you’re okay?”
You nodded, smiling up at him.
“Right, oh, and you can just call me Taehyung.”
You nodded again, smiling and blinking up at him.
He led the way down the hall once the doors opened, holding your hand again, unlocking the door to his apartment (it had a pretty wreath on it). “It isn’t much but this is home.”
You stepped in and took off your shoes, then realized you didn’t have your slippers out.
He caught your panicked looked and smiled gesturing to two pairs of slippers, one pair smaller than the others that looked adorable and comfortable. Like fairy slippers. “I got those for you. They told me your sizes so I could get you some things.”
You felt warm all over and you carefully tried on the slippers, purring at how soft they were.
He looked relieved that you liked them.
Then you saw the rest of his apartment and gaped. Not because of the Christmas tree, which really was delightfully decorated, but because it was very large. You’d seen other apartments before, for home visits before adoptions that fell through at the previous shelter you’d been in as a child. This place was…expensive.
“Wow,” You breathed.
“Like I said, it’s not much, I don’t really even have that much furniture. I just sort of moved in a couple months ago.” He rubbed his neck.
You stared at him, then at the apartment. “It’s huge. You lived here alone?”
“Oh…well…yeah. That’s also why I got you, I’m not used to living alone and the others drop by now and then and I drop by their places now and then but…it’s not the same as what I’m used to and then I saw the shelter and I just got curious and…I didn’t want to be alone anymore and you were so bright and lively that I thought…you’d help me liven the place up. Help it feel warm in here instead of empty.” He looked embarrassed.
You smiled. “I can certainly try.”
He smiled back at you. “Ready for your presents?”
“I feel bad, I don’t have presents for you,” You replied, worried.
“You being here and enjoying what I’ve gotten for you will be enough,” He reassured you, looking happy again.
You nodded and let him lead you through the apartment to a door with a ribbon stuck to it.
“This is your room, y/n,” He whispered, then opened the door.
You squeaked in surprise as you looked around the absolutely plush room. Big bed, lots of pillows and blankets, and pretty pretty furniture. Gentle colors, pretty colors. A lamp, a ceiling fan. And he had some clothes in the dresser and the closet, and some books on the shelves.
He was watching you hopefully, waiting to see if you liked it all.
Your eyes filled with tears and you raced over you hug his waist tightly. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” You breathed, locking your arms around him.
His lips pressed lightly to your temple. “Merry Christmas, y/n.”
“Merry Christmas,” You whispered back.

A Day at the Zoo (Ethan/MC)
Description: Ethan and Olivia spend a day at the zoo with their twin toddlers.
Rating: Teen. Some mildly suggestive dialogue at the end but nothing NS*FW.
Preview: “Daddy!” Zoey pointed at the biggest giraffe.
This is @aestheticartsx’s fic for my recent fic giveaway. Love you and your sweet positivity! ❤️
Nobody said raising toddlers was easy.
When you doubled the mischief by having twins, life was never boring.
“No clothes!”
Ethan shook his head as he tried to hold his son still. “You have to hold still so I can dress you.”
“Nope!”
“You can absolutely not go to the zoo naked,” Ethan insisted as he managed to get his squirming son into an outfit.
Defeated, Jonah sighed and tried to go limp, which somehow made it even more difficult to get him into a shirt and pair of shorts. Then Ethan picked him up before he could find an opportunity to rip his clothes off, his favorite act of mischief.
Olivia joined him in the living room with Zoey on her hip. “It took way more effort than it should have, but I got her dressed. Do all toddlers hate being clothed, or is that just these two?”
“That’s a good question.”
“Zoo!” Zoey squirmed in her mother’s arms and impatiently pointed at the door.
“Just a minute.” Olivia opened the diaper bag and checked to make sure they had everything. Once she was convinced they had anything they could possibly need for a visit to the zoo, they left the house.
They carried the twins to the car and buckled them into their car seats. Once they were securely strapped in, Ethan got into the driver’s seat and started the car.
As soon as he backed out of the driveway, Zoey grabbed the Velcro on her shoes. She yanked them off and giggled when they tumbled under Olivia’s seat.
Jonah followed suit, and by the time Ethan had reached the end of the street, both kids had removed their socks and were happily wiggling their bare toes.
Olivia sighed. “Are shoes even necessary? They just outgrow them every week.”
“It seems that way. I think they’re just going through a phase where they prefer to be unclothed and barefoot 24/7.”
“I mean… it’s a little relatable.”
When they arrived at the zoo, Ethan removed the stroller from the trunk. He unfolded it and helped Olivia fasten Zoey and Jonah into it. Olivia tucked the diaper bag into the compartment beneath their seats.
Ethan pushed the stroller to the main entrance, where they paid for their tickets. As soon as they entered the gate, the twins started pointing in every direction.
They followed the path, stopping at the first exhibit. Ethan parked the stroller and picked up the twins so they could see inside.
“Grilla!” Zoey identified.
Ethan nodded. “That’s right. Gorillas are really smart.”
“Want one!” Jonah exclaimed when two more gorillas emerged from behind one of the structures in the exhibit.
“That’s probably not the best idea.” Ethan settled them back in their stroller and let them watch for another minute before they made their way to the next exhibit.
Olivia peered into the lion enclosure, amused when all of the lions were asleep on their rocks. “Mood.”
Ethan chuckled. “It’s after eleven o’clock.”
“Exactly.”
“Sleepy kitties!” Jonah waved goodbye to the oblivious lions before they moved the giraffe enclosure. Ethan and Olivia each picked up one of the toddlers to let them see inside.
“Daddy!” Zoey pointed at the biggest giraffe.
Ethan rolled his eyes. “That looks nothing like me.”
“Daddy!”
Olivia smirked. “They know who your ancestors are, Ethan. Don’t try to fool them.”
“I still don’t understand where they came up with that idea.”
“They’re toddlers. Very perceptive toddlers with big imaginations.”
“If you insist.” Ethan settled Zoey back in the stroller. Olivia put Jonah next to her and looped her arm through Ethan’s as they resumed visiting the various enclosures.
Halfway through the park, they reached the polar bear exhibit. Olivia picked both twins up and carried them to the observation deck. “See the polar bears? They’re Mommy’s favorite. That’s why your room has polar bears in it.”
“Big bear!” Jonah held his arms out wide.
“That’s right. They’re the biggest bears in the world. Sometimes their paws are bigger than your whole head!”
Their eyes widened as they pressed their faces to the glass. Zoey pointed at the large bear floating on his back in the water. “Swimming!”
“Mm hmm. Just keep putting your faces all over the really germy glass. It’s worth it to look at polar bears.”
Ethan couldn’t contain a laugh. He settled a hand on Olivia’s hip. “You’re being painfully cute.”
She grinned. “I can’t help myself. Polar bears. If it weren’t for the chance it would eat our kids, I’d smuggle one out of here. I’d buy a snowblower for the backyard and let it swim in the pool.”
“I highly doubt we could keep it fed. The last time I was in PetSmart, they didn’t have polar bear food in stock.”
“How hilarious.” Olivia watched the bears for a few more moments before they left the exhibit.
Jonah’s stomach rumbled and he patted it. “Want food.”
“I could go for some lunch, too. Looking at a bunch of mostly sleeping animals has a weird way of giving me an appetite for overpriced food.”
“In that case, I guess the cafeteria is our next stop.” Ethan checked the zoo map and followed the directions to the restaurant, where Olivia found a table while Ethan ordered their food.
Once Jonah and Zoey were buckled into high chairs, Olivia cut their chicken into manageable bites and gave each of them a serving. “Eat up.”
Ever the enthusiastic eater, Jonah grabbed a handful of chicken and ate it. “Mm!”
“Yummy, huh?” Olivia sat next to Ethan and kissed his cheek before she started eating.
After lunch, they took the twins to the bathroom just in time to avoid a potty training catastrophe. Olivia took control of the stroller as they browsed the remaining exhibits.
The last enclosure was the panda exhibit. Jonah pointed inside and grinned with excitement.
“Pandas!”
Olivia ruffled his hair. “Yep. I think they’re my second favorite. They’re really cute and fluffy. And their cubs are always getting into trouble in every panda video I’ve ever seen, so that’s pretty amazing.”
They left the pandas and located the zoo’s gift shop. As they browsed the shop, they stopped at the stuffed animals.
“You can pick one out, but you have to stay in the stroller,” Ethan explained. ”I don’t trust either of you far enough to release you in a gift shop.”
“Is it bad that I’m not morally opposed to baby leashes?”
“Hmm. They seem more reasonable every day.”
Jonah pointed at a stuffed panda holding a cub. “That one!”
“Is that the one you want?” Olivia handed it to him. He hugged it tight and buried his face in it.
Zoey studied the selections until she saw a similar one with polar bears. She reached for it, wiggling her fingers when she couldn’t reach the shelf. Ethan took it and handed it to her.
They were on their way to the checkout when Olivia saw a mug with a polar bear on it. She grabbed it and added it to their purchases. “I would have regrets if I didn’t get this.”
“We wouldn’t want that, would we?” Ethan handed the cashier his card to pay for their items. The twins hugged their stuffed animals as they left the zoo. Olivia settled them in their car seats, and Ethan folded the stroller and placed it in the trunk.
Zoey and Jonah had removed their socks and shoes before the car was halfway across the parking lot. They entertained themselves with their new stuffed animals and made growling noises.
Halfway through the forty-five minute drive home, both kids fell asleep in their car seats.
The toddlers were still asleep when they reached their house, so Ethan and Olivia carried them inside and into the nursery. They tucked them into their beds with their new stuffed animals, then turned the light off.
“I guess a day of sitting in a stroller looking at sleepy animals exhausted them.”
“It would appear so,” Ethan agreed. They sat on the couch and he draped his arm around her when she leaned against his side.
A suggestive smile tugged at her lips. She touched her hand to his chest. “They’re asleep. And if I’m correct, they will be for… I’d say another twenty minutes.”
Ethan smirked. “What are you proposing?”
“Nothing too risque. It has been a long day for someone of your age.”
He feigned a scowl and tugged her into his lap. “I have plenty of stamina for ‘someone of my age’,” he whispered before pressing his lips to hers.
She stifled a laugh and deepened the kiss. After a long moment, she pulled back and touched her forehead to his. “Then prove it to me later. Right now I’m in dire need of cuddling.”
“Dire need, huh?”
“Yep.” Grinning, she rested her head on his shoulder. Ethan’s arms tightened around her waist, gently pinning her against himself. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”

My Masterlist
Chapter Two - Vodka Martinis
Chapter Three: Orange Juice
Our start was rocky. From the unwanted solicitation, throwing a latte in his face, the note, that horrible date with Tom, and being doused in freezing water. You really thought that things couldn’t get any more rocky. Until you met his mother. Mrs. Lord as she commanded you to call her, was a complete and total bitch.
Coming in like a hurricane and leaving nothing but devastation in her wake. After that night you continued seeing Maxwell Lord. You’re first date he rented out an entire movie theater, and didn’t even pay attention to the movie, his face buried in your neck the whole night. Followed up by small dinners at his mansion, and late night drives in his blood red corvette, the top down, you curled up against his side after a long day at work.
After each one of these dates his toxic mother would swoop into your work and threaten you with anything in her arsenal. How she could get you fired, lose your apartment, sue you for some insignificant thing, and each time you would kindly tell her to fuck off. But she wasn’t just going after you but Maxwell as well and her claws were deep into him. Preying on all his fears and insecurities that she had instilled in him from a young age. Whispering lies in his ear that she had you tailed and were cheating on him, just using him for his money, or worse trying to get a baby out of him so he would be paying you for eighteen plus years.
Each time he would come to you and you would remind him something his traumatized brain forgot in those moments….how much you loved him.
Yes, he was an egotistical, rich, asshole and that is what the world thinks of him. But you saw so much more than that. The way he would take off your sticky non-slip shoes and rub your feet after a long day at the shop, stinking of coffee grounds. How he would hold your hand and rubs circles with his thumb whenever he drove you somewhere. The way he would make love to you with such tenderness, the aftercare where he would clean you and hold you so close you could feel your heartbeats sync together. You were his deepest secret, proof to the world that Maxwell Lord had a heart. Although no one knew that.
You sit on the couch with your ice cream watching TV. Maxwell had a charity gala this evening and you're watching the news coverage hoping to get a glimpse of him in his tux. You had given him a new pocket square for his birthday last week and he promised to wear it. You dip the spoon in and lift it up to your lips when it clatters back into the carton. You put it on the table and crawl on your knees closer to the TV.
Maxwell Lord IV is being interviewed by a local reporter looking immaculate. Not a single strand out of place and smiling jovial as he answers the questions. But that isn’t what caught your attention...it’s the blonde woman on his arm. You recognize her instantly as a model on the cover of the magazine your roommate bought yesterday. She is gorgeous, thin, wearing a floor-length pale pink dress, and a diamond collar. Her hand rests in the crook of his elbow and he has one hand over her own.
“Mr. Lord, is this your girlfriend?” the reporter buzzes.
“Oh Kitty here?” he kisses the beautiful woman's cheek and she giggles, “No, she is just a good friend of mine, I don’t have time in my life for any serious relationships.” He smiles at the camera again and you notice the pocket square is a pale pink to match her dress and not the one you bought and you feel the ice cream sour in your stomach.
You reach for the knob and turn off the television laying down on the floor looking at the small cracks in the ceiling. You recall the conversation about this gala replaying it over and over again in your head.
“Do you want me to attend with you?”
“No, it’s just some boring charity gala we have ten to fifteen a year. I wouldn’t want to bore you with having to endure that for an evening,” he adjusts his tie and smiles over at you laying in his bed.
“I understand,” you nod leaning up to kiss him softly, “Are you...going with anyone?”
“No. I haven’t been attending these things with anyone since you and I...since you and I,” his eyes soften as he sits on the edge of the bed, taking his hand in yours. “You know how much I love you darling, I just want to keep you all to myself. If I bring you to this gala the press are going to start asking questions and….I’m not ready to share you with the world yet.”
You smile, tightening the grip on his hand, “As long as I don’t have to share you with anyone either.”
“There is no one else, you’re it for me honey,” he pulls you in for another kiss and you sigh.
Your heart shatters thinking of the model and how perfect she looked on his arm. She would be the perfect addition to Maxwell. The words of his mother seep into you and your self doubt begins to bloom. You shake your head and get off the floor, put the ice cream away, and go to bed. The heaviness of your heart dragging you to sleep.
The next morning doesn’t get any better. Your usual good morning phone call with Maxwell never comes and you go to work and try to clear your mind, sure it’s nothing. When your lunch break comes and still no call or even show of him you call his work. His assistant tells you regretfully that he is in meetings all day and can’t be reached. The sick feeling in your stomach continues to grow and when you get off you decide not to wait around for him, catching a cab to his home. The whole staff knows you and greets you happily and the chef makes you a sandwich and listens to you babble about your day as she cleans up.
The household quiets down for the night and when it hits eleven and he’s still not home you take off your clothes, put on one of his shirts and crawl into bed. Determined not to let him get away with ignoring you all day. The next morning you wake up early, having tossed and turned the whole night. But this time the bed isn’t empty. A warm arm is draped across your waist and his mouth is pressed against your head holding you close. You sigh and watch him sleep, his face free of worry as he dreams.
You carefully eject yourself from his arms and go into the kitchen starting the button on the coffee. It’s very early and the chef isn’t even here yet so you decide to make some breakfast for yourself and Maxwell. The difficult conversation may be easier over food. You get out the egg whites, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese for omelets and get to work cooking. Halfway through turning on the small radio and dancing around the kitchen to some Beegees. You're almost done cooking, putting the omelets onto the plates and pulling out a carton of orange juice and pouring a glass.
You hear a slight chuckle and whirl around to see Maxwell Lord IV in his grey sleep pants, white shirt, and wearing bright blue cookie monster slippers you had bought him as a joke since he has a secret affinity for cookies. “What are you doing honey?” he asks, gesturing to the mess.
“I...I thought we could have breakfast together and...talk...we need to talk Maxwell.”
He lowers his head and nods grabbing the plates and juice before setting them down at the small kitchen table. Usually he liked to eat in the grand dining room but the small eat in kitchen table was your favorite. He sits close to you and digs in groaning at the taste. “This is delicious.”
You give a half hearted smile, taking a bite and putting down your fork, turning to him, “I saw your interview at the gala....why did you lie to me about not having a date?”
He grimaces, “my mother surprised me,” he sighs, “I was getting dressed for the gala and she shows up with Kitty, throws your pocket square in the trash and pushes us into the limo with her. I get the feeling that Kitty didn’t have much choice as well, but we played the part. I never wanted to lie to you, I just didn’t have time to tell you.”
“Then why ignore me all day yesterday? No call, no visit, and when I tried to call the office they said you were in meetings all day.”
“I was in meetings all day and I am so sorry about not calling in the morning but I had to take care of something very important yesterday.”
“What was it?” not taking no for an answer. “My mother,” he rubs a hand over his face, “I had breakfast with my mother...I told her that what she did the night before was unacceptable and that I wanted to be with you. Of course she spent the entire day arguing with me but I couldn’t give a care. And at the end of it all I told her she needed to choose. Either she accepts you and we move forward or she can forget that she has a son.”
“Maxwell,” you beg, “why didn’t you call me? I could have gone with you, you shouldn’t have had to do that alone! What did she say?”
“She told me if I wanted to marry that poor coffee shop bitch, then she would never speak to me again.” You're silent as you process his words. Marry…?
He stands from the table and goes into the foyer of the house. You can hear him digging in his coat and he comes back with a tiffany blue box. He drops to one knee before you and tears sting in your eyes, rubbing at them furiously.
“I told her goodbye and then went to pick up the ring from the jewelers, I ordered it three weeks ago,” he opens the box and you gasp at the princess cut diamond surrounded by sapphires. “I had this big proposal planned, candles, champagne, a string quartet, your favorite restaurant. But, when I woke up this morning and saw you in my shirt, dancing and cooking breakfast, I thought this was a much better time. Plus you know how impatient I am darling.”
You let out a watery chuckle and nod in agreement. Allowing him to continue, “I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I want to bring you to every gala, show you off to the world, and every morning I want to wake up with you in my arms. Will you marry me?”
“Yes,” you cry, “yes of course, I will marry you,” you're openly sobbing and he has tears streaming down his cheeks as he slides the ring onto your finger. Pulling you out of your chair and into his lap as he kisses you passionately. His hands running through your hair and holding you close.
“Oh my,” the chef opens the door seeing you both on the floor in a passionate embrace and backs out. You laugh calling them back, “We’re engaged!” you shout and the chef and butler run into the room congratulating you both. Maxwell smiles at you and you beam back at him kissing him again.
A loud knock sounds at the front door and the butler rushes out to answer. Returning a few moments later apologizing as Mrs. Lord slams open the door. “Maxwell!” she shrieks, and you groan holding on tighter to your fiancé who is rising to his feet and pushing you behind him, locking his hand within your own.
“Mrs. Lord?” he asks, “If you want to speak with me you will need to schedule a meeting with my assistant.” You squeeze his hand in encouragement and watch as she gapes like a fish.
“You can’t be serious?! You are seriously going to give up your mother for some cheap whore?!”
He steps forward and growls, “She is not some cheap whore, this is my fiancé and you will never speak to her like that again. I am tired of being your punching bag, allowing your toxic words to seep into me. I will no longer allow you to control me, we are done. Now good day Mrs. Lord.” He tightens his grip.
“Maxwell, you can’-” she stammers and is cut off when he yells raising his voice.
“I said good-day! Get the hell out of our home, you are no longer welcome.” She tightens her grip on her Hermes handbag and straightens her Dior dress before glaring daggers at you.
“This isn’t over,” she hisses and turns on her heel stomping out of the house.
When the door slams shut behind her, the staff quickly leave you two alone and you hold him close in your arms. Leaning up to whisper in his ear, “I am so proud of you.” He sighs and holds you tighter, placing a kiss to your temple. “I couldn’t let her talk like that about you. You are going to be my wife, and no one will ever disrespect you like that.”
“You’ve really changed Maxwell, I think some of those things you said to me the first time we met,” you tease and he groans.
“Despite our rocky start and how much of an utter asshole I was, I wouldn’t change a thing. Because it brought me to you. I love you sweetheart,” he kisses you gently.
“I love you too. Do you...do you think she’s going to do something bad? She seemed very angry when she left.”
“Whatever happens, we will face it together. She is a bitter old woman, what’s the worst she can do?” he holds you close to his chest and reaches down for his orange juice taking a large drink. “Let’s just focus on the next thing.”
“What’s next?” you sigh taking the glass from him and taking a deep drink.
“Planning the wedding of the century darling.”
You cough loudly. Oh fuck what have you gotten yourself into now?

Chapter 15: Luther's Brilliant Fucking Plan

“So, how was she?” Dark asked as he sat down in the chair opposite Luther on the couch, both of their pets kneeling next to them.
He had returned from Maryland not even five minutes ago, giving a short greeting to his friend and a heartfelt kiss to his housewife.
“Oh, she was wonderful, Ed. You trained her well,” Luther said with a shit eating grin.
Dark chuckled, pleased that his defiant pet behaved so well for his best friend. Her hands were twisting and pulling the fabric of her dress, but he couldn’t care less at the visible discomfort on her face.
“I’ve noticed she has a few more scars than when I left her, including a brand,” he said in a low voice, face in a scowl once he stared at the designed burn on her right arm.
Luther didn’t look the least bit threatened at his friend’s dangerous tone. “Believe me, it was justified. She made a new friend,” he said in a mocking tone before harshly pulling at his pet’s hair.
Killian gasped as his scalp was pulled, every instinct telling him to sit still, though. His arms had healed fairly well, but the burns on his face would be deeply scarred for a while, if not forever.
“I see he had his own share of punishment as well,” Dark added, looking at the boy’s scarred face and arms.
“Your girl tried to feed him against my permission, then her defiance rubbed off on him. But I had them under my control soon enough,” Harper forced down a whimper as she recalled the horrific week of rape and torture she had spent with the man, who wasn’t sharing even a fraction as he should have with her captor. But she knew better than to say anything.
She then felt hands gripping her chin, taking her out of her thoughts. “Harper, did he touch you at all like the way I do?”
The girl swallowed as she stared at the familiar and possessive look on her captors face, before fearfully glancing over at the man on the couch. Luther’s face was emotionless, but she knew his mind was threatening her if she dared to tell the truth.
The kitty had finally stopped crying, knees tucked up to her chest on the bed. She and the dog, who was still tied to the chair, were staring at each other, regret in the dog’s and anger in the other.
“I’m gonna tell him, as soon as he gets back,” the kitty promised, throat scratchy and raw by the night they had shared together.
The man finished zipping his pants and rolled his eyes, not bothered to talk as he reached down to grab his shirt off the floor.
Kitty painfully sat up, pissed that he wasn’t paying attention to her. “I’m serious. He’s the only one allowed to rape me, he told you-”
Doggy screamed as his shock collar was set off yet again. Master grabbed his hair painfully, forcing him to look at Kitty.
“He. Is. Mine. Like you are Edward’s. Ed can do whatever the fuck he wants to do with you when I’m gone, just like I can do whatever the fuck I want to do with him. No one will care if I kill him, understand? If I even suspect that Edward knows what happened here tonight, and what will continue to happen, your precious little Ian is going to have a long and painful death. Understand?”
Kitty didn’t respond, just let out a small sob and rolled back over on the bed. The man smiled as he let go of the dog’s hair, walking out of the bedroom leaving two broken pets behind.
Harper breathed out, trying to not give away the emotion on her face, for Killian’s sake. “No, just the brand and a few beatings, Master. I was good for him just like you told me to.” It was forced, she knows, but best not to make him angry when he just got back.
Dark smiled, patting her head. “Very good girl. Sorry for the accusation, Lou, you know how I get about my pets.”
Luther laughed. “No worries, Ed. Besides, I would never dream of touching her.”
Killian’s heart dropped as he stared at the girl, watching her try so hard to keep a straight face and not tell what really happened.
All for him.
Dark changed the subject matter quickly. “Anyways, did you hear the news? Helene’s going away to Philadelphia for three weeks.”
Harper looked up confused. Helene? As in Congresswoman Helene McKinley? Beth’s boss?
“Really?” Luther questioned. “She never leaves DC.”
“Had to take care of a personal matter. She ensured the subject will be one of ours soon.”
“Very good. What does that leave you then?”
“I was thinking of taking Harper back to my base again,” Dark started, fingers flowing through his pet's raven hair to keep himself calm. “Possibly my manor, but you know how my gang loves to talk. And with how often Noah comes around, he’ll be sure to share my new pet with Noami. I’m afraid it’s too much of a risk to my marriage to take her anywhere but here.”
Luther chuckled. “Noami will never stop running her mouth to Helene if she finds out. ‘Helene did you hear? Your Edward found himself another slut to fuck behind your back! If you don’t murder his ass right now, I will do it for you!’” He finished the imitation with a smile, but Harper couldn’t tell if it was genuine or not when she stared at him.
Dark laughed at the scene, but continued. “Unfortunately, coming here to Delaware constantly prevents me from running my base in DC. I can’t let her be another one of my one-offs, she’s,” the man stopped to grasp her chin again, thumb running over her lip, “Special.”
Luther sat in silence for a moment, then spoke up as if a lightbulb had just casted a light over his head. “How about taking her to my building? The top floor is a private penthouse that I only have access to, with tons of rooms and space for you two to live. You’ll be easily able to travel between your base and there, and I could watch her while you’re gone!”
Watch her while you’re gone. Harper wished she had the nerves to scream her protests against the idea. But in reality, which one is the lesser of two evils? A sadistic man who sees her as nothing but a kitty, or a delusional man who sees her as a housewife that he can kill at any moment?
Dark scratched her chin, pondering the idea. Killian stared blankly ahead, a distant part of him hoping his Master’s idea would work; maybe he could see Harper more.
“You know, Lou, I think I’ll take your deal,” Edward said after a moment of silence. “Are you sure it’s not a problem for you?”
Luther waved him off. “Don’t worry about it. I barely use it anyways. You can even use it after Helene comes back or for as long as you need.”
“Thank you, Luther,” Dark said with a genuine smile, not the creepy one he always uses on Harper. “I owe you one.”
Luther nodded, scratching his pet's hair one last time before getting up. “Well, I should be getting back. Give me a call when you’re coming, and I’ll be sure to sneak you in.”
Dark got up as well, going out to shake his friend's hand. “You’re the best friend I’ve ever had, Luther. We’ll be there by tomorrow evening.”
You’re the best friend I’ve ever had, Beth.
Luther shook back with a smile. “Oh, I know. I’ll be looking forward to seeing you.”
I know, Harp. Now come on, we gotta catch the bus to get back home.
How do I get back home to you, Beth?
“Come on, Kill.” Killian rushed to get up, back hunched as he stood next to his master. As Dark walked towards the door to open it for him, Luther quickly turned around towards Harper, his dangerous gaze vastly different from his friendly one just a minute ago.
“If you say anything, I’ll kill him,” Luther whispered, hand gripping Killian’s neck as he raised an eyebrow at Harper.
Harper gave a slight nod, staring at Killian before mouthing, Goodbye, Ian.
The boy swallowed against the tight hold. Goodbye, Harper.
Luther rolled his eyes and pushed the boy towards the door, giving Dark one final goodbye before leaving. The said man closed and locked the door, loosening his tie as he walked back to his pet.
Harper’s instincts were screaming at her to run away from his predatory walk, but she stayed kneeling before her hair was harshly grabbed and she was pulled to her feet. “Oh, darling,” Dark said with a sick smile. ”It’s been so long since I’ve heard you scream.”
The pain on her scalp was relieved just before she was thrown across the room, back hitting the couch before falling to the floor. She shakingly looked up, expecting anger from her captor, but all she saw was lust. The extreme lust to hurt her.
Harper whimpered, lips trembling as she moved back until she hit the TV stand behind her. Why did this have to be her life? She was a good person- she was a detective for God’s sake. She devoted her life to searching for her brother who everyone said was dead. She worked to expose the most dangerous and corrupt people in her city with her best friend. And now she was a fucking pet for one of them, the same man that ruined her life seven years ago.
The girl heaved in before she broke down sobbing, her fight leaving as her reality came crashing down. The previous discussion was two sick men talking about moving her, so no one will know where she is. Or even alive. And if she wasn’t useful to him anymore, she would die.
Dark cooed as he kneeled down, fingers brushing the hair out of her face. “Oh, sweetheart, I know. You’re just so excited to see me. Don’t worry, I’ll make up for all the time we missed.”
Harper couldn’t even plead for mercy before her vision partially blacked out. Her head erupted in pain as it was slammed into the stand behind her. Through the fog that formed in her vision, she felt herself be laid down on the ground, and a heavy weight be placed on her waist.
She heard a murmur from above her. “Daddy missed his toy.” Dark’s face leaned down, lips trailing her neck. She felt his breath on her face that smelled of tobacco. Then she was forced to listen to her shirt being ripped open.
The man kissed her lips, passionately and with emotion that shouldn’t come from a man like him. His tongue slid in, trailing her gums and teeth and making sure to consume every part of her. Harper suddenly screamed when a knife was plunged into her shoulder, shrills and pleas being drowned out by the kiss as the knife dug deeper into her skin.
Dark pulled back, stomach filling with joy as he saw the tears cover her face, his finger going to trace the wound in blood. He made sure to coat himself in it before touching her face again, smearing her own blood there. He smiled maniacally as Harper’s scream almost shook the room when his thumb dug into the wound, every movement causing her face to contort in unbearable pain.
She’s never looked so beautiful.
“I love you, Evie,” he said before hungrily kissing the girl on the floor again, screams never stopping as she writhed under the man who would never let her go.
---
Nic almost fell off his chair as he heard a knock on his front door. His hair was a mess, eyes sunken and colored due to many sleepless nights, and clothes that had not been changed since five days ago. He scrambled to open it, seeing the familiar blonde and curly hair of the secretary.
“Beth,” Nic said in almost disbelief. From their falling out yesterday, he had figured she wouldn’t want to see him at all. But the girl looked at him with a sudden determination he had not seen the previous day.
“Let’s find Harper and expose these fucking bastards.”
Nic smiled and stepped back to let her in. “After you, Mrs. Carrien.”

what would happen if Jackie got pregnant during season 8 by a one night stand and the dad didn't want to be involved, how do you think the gang would react, I kinda think she would catch a lot of crap from them, especially Hyde and Donna, but I think she would want a stress free pregnancy so she would distance herself from them and maybe after the baby was born she would let them back into her life slow
Okay, I know Hyde and Donna acted like complete pricks on season 8, but I refuse to believe that they would act like pricks if something like this happened.
This is going to be a looong answer, and I even wrote a small ficlet because I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL HELP ME.
We've all seen how they reacted when Kelso didn't want to take responsibility with Brooke. No matter who the girl is, knocking her up and abandoning her is a completely shitty thing to do and they would not be okay with that, especially if the girl in question is Jackie.
This might be a wake-up call for them.
I totally understand why Jackie would be reluctant on telling them or even being around them once the news is out. To be honest, I don't even think she would actually tell them, judging by how they treated her on s8. But I also don't see Jackie not telling anyone, this is a very serious situation, she would need a shoulder to cry on, and I think she would probably tell either Mr. Forman or Mrs. Forman, maybe even Fez, since they're roommates and all that.
But of course, Hyde and Donna would find out eventually. You can't just hide a pregnancy when you live in a small town like Point Place.
Once they find out, they would definitely be shocked and upset. Donna would be upset not only because her friend is in such a crappy situation, but also because Jackie didn't even consider telling her and asking her for advice. That's when she'd notice how shitty of a friend she was.
Hyde would probably have many, many thoughts going through his mind. As I said multiple times, I simply do not believe that Hyde stopped loving her out of nowhere, what he and Jackie had was real, they had a nice, loving relationship and there's no way in hell he got over her in such a short span of time.
At first, he'd be upset because the girl he loves is having a baby with someone that's not him, and being upset about it would make him angry, because he won't be able to keep lying to himself after finding out something like this. This hurts, and this isn't the kind of hurt he can distract himself from with booze, pot, and meaningless sex.
The anger would completely take over once he finds out that the baby's dad wants nothing to do with Jackie and the baby. That's when I believe he'd try and talk to her.
Hyde knocks at Jackie and Fez's apartment, looking nervous and antsy. Jackie opens the door and stares impassively at him.
Jackie: So, you know.
Hyde: Yeah, I know.
Jackie: What? No snippy comments? No 'haha, Jackie's a knocked-up whore'? Aren't you going to laugh at me and say I deserve this?
Hyde ignores her and enters the apartment, he starts pacing nervously through the living room.
Hyde (looking pissed): Who did this to you?
Jackie: It doesn't matter. He wants nothing to do with me and the baby. Look, it's late and...
Hyde: Jackie, you need to tell me who did this to you, so I can find him and set his ass straight.
Jackie: I don't want you to do that!
Hyde: Well, that's too bad, this isn't about you anymore, Jackie! This is about your kid! Now tell me who's the bastard and I swear to God, I'll kill him if...
Jackie: I'm not thinking about myself, Steven! You and I both know how bad it is to be raised by a parent who never wanted you and treats you like crap, so I'd rather raise this baby alone than raise him or her with a father who doesn't care, alright?
Hyde sighs and runs his fingers through his face.
Hyde: Jackie, this isn't right, you can't do this alone, I...
Jackie: No, you don't get to care now. Just leave me alone, I can handle this. I have the Forman's and Fez, I'll be fine.
Hyde: You have me too.
Jackie scoffs and rolls her eyes.
Jackie: Yeah, right.
Hyde: I mean it, we can tell people it's my kid, and...
Jackie: Because getting knocked up by your ex-boyfriend who dumped you for a stripper and completely humiliated you is so much better than getting knocked up by a stranger, right?
Hyde feels the back of his eyes burning. Jackie's right, what he did to her was unforgivable, and he's lucky she's even talking to him. But he doesn't want her to go through this alone, he wants to be there for her like he wasn't in the last few months.
Hyde: I just want to help you, Jackie.
Jackie: You'll help me by leaving me alone. Goodbye, Hyde.
With that, she shoves him out of the apartment and locks the door, hoping he won't hear the sobs that were escaping her.
The next morning, Hyde's sitting at the kitchen table having breakfast with the Forman's and Donna, he looks very mopey and is barely touching his food.
Kitty: Is everything alright, Steven?
Red: Don't tell me you're upset because of the stripper, she left over a week ago!
Donna: Actually, Hyde and I found out about Jackie yesterday. Fez accidentally told us during the cir... during our heart-to-heart talks.
Kitty and Red exchange looks. Kitty looks uncomfortable and sad, Red looks pissed.
Kitty: Oh... Well, you were bound to know eventually
Donna: I don't know what we're going to do
Hyde pushes his plate aside, looking pissed.
Hyde: I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to track this bastard down and I'll kill him with my bare hands, I don't care what Jackie told me, I'll kill him.
Red: Already tried. The loud one won't tell me who it is and I think it's better this way.
Hyde gives Red an incredulous look.
Hyde: How is it better this way? She needs someone to be there for her, someone who'll hold her hand while she's having the kid, someone who'll get her all the weird foods she's going to crave... That kid needs a dad, man! And she won't let me...
He interrupts himself and takes a deep breath, not looking at the other people sitting around him.
Donna: All Hyde's trying to say is that... Jackie needs us right now.
Kitty looked at her husband, who has put his newspaper down and was glaring at the duo. She immediately knew that things were about to get ugly.
Red: She's been needing you for a long time now, but none of you gave a damn! The loud one cries to me ever since this dumbass thought it would be a good idea to get drunk and marry a stripper, leaving his girlfriend of years alone to fend for herself, so I'm going to tell you what to do!
Red stands up angrily and Kitty stands next to him, rubbing his arm in an attempt to calm him down. He points at both Donna and Hyde, who looked scared.
Red: You are going to do what she tells you to do! If she tells you to leave her alone, then you are going to leave her alone! She doesn't need to deal with any of your crap right now!
Red storms off, leaving Hyde and Donna alone with Kitty. Donna has tears in her eyes, and Hyde looks extremely regretful and guilty.
Kitty: Red's just... A little protective of Jackie after everything that happened. I'm sure Jackie will come around eventually, all you two need to do is give her some space and be there for her if she ever needs it, okay? And try not to be so mean with her anymore.
After that lovely talk, Hyde and Donna (who were already feeling like crap) feel extremely guilty, and they try to apologize to Jackie and make up for their mistakes. Jackie fights them at first, but she caves eventually, because the pregnancy was really wearing her out and a few extra hands wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Also, she could tell that they were really sorry for their actions and she didn't feel like punishing them anymore, she has more important things to worry about.
They are both there for her when she needs them, especially Hyde. They developed a really nice friendship, and he proves to her that he's changed. He drives her to all her doctor's appointments, he helps her set up a nursery, and he gets attached to the baby before it's even born. He's in the delivery room with Jackie (and Mrs. Forman) when she's delivering, and the second he heard the baby crying he knew he was a goner.
He still loves Jackie, by the way. Never stopped, and he wants her back. But he held himself back and respected her time, Jackie was too busy with the pregnancy and taking care of her newborn baby, and he didn't want to add more to her plate.
Once the baby's slightly older, Hyde ends up asking Jackie for another chance. He declares himself for her and after a day or two of thinking, Jackie says yes and they get back together.
They eventually get married, he ends up legally adopting the baby, and they raise the kid together. She gets pregnant again after a few years and they have a big, happy, loving family.
Again, another fix-it that no one really asked for, but I can't help myself.
