I saw the pink outfit, and just thought it was cute. But MC's outfit in the cards gave me intense AC!Tifa vibes. Right off the bat. Within a glance. To the point I was doubting we weren't getting it. Lo and behold we are, but now I realize the pink dress is evocative of Aeris!
And it makes a little more sense if Caleb is the default in a sense, and Xavier is in the other way!
#i keep trying to push this idea that there's a default at all lmao#but it is interesting that caleb most resembles zack and now#we get mc giving aeris#i n t r i g u i n g#i actually kept wondering who everyone's parallels were so maybe that's why we won't get a female li to be aeris#because we are her! but if they do make the last li also resemble a ff character#i'm guessing... rufus or cid? xavier is cloud | sylus is sephiroth | caleb is zack#zayne is vincent and/or tseng and rafayel is reno (i'm guessing?)#but that leaves out rufus as the most popular ikemen or cid as popular with women generally#rufus would be interesting for a li to be inspired by since it really could unite the ever as a shinra like org themes#the greek myth coming in too is interesting because even vii uses the name gaia/gaea?#big thinking emojis

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d52877d39a71c5a4d698553287f79e0/4294183a33194e76-78/s500x750/989f47a3fc2a5fdbf2232d740e967fe2f76e6fdc.jpg)
“i didn’t realise you were an expert on everything, enlighten me on how that wasn’t flirting!” seunghan spits his snarky comments.
“it was a crowded room you dipshit! we couldn’t control how much space there would be!” tears threaten to fall down your face as you and seunghan continue to argue over something that was out of anyones control.
“he was literally three millimetres away from u! he may as well have had his dick up your arse!” you could tell he was getting angry, the tips of his ears burning into a deep red while his eyebrows furrowed.
“you always do this! how many times do i have to tell you that it was out of our control” you were losing patience at this point, frustrated that your boyfriend won’t even try to understand you. “you’re acting like i did take him up my arse! you absolute monstrosity” you’re sure you’re on the verge of pulling your hair out right now.
“i don’t know why you’re talking as if you bring soooo much joy to the conversation” i swear if he utters another word.. you clench your fist and try to keep you peace, so angry out of your mind you start huffing and puffing.
“you talk so highly about yourself but you cant even stay loyal to your own boyfriend” seunghan scoffs
“don’t you dare roll ur eyes at me, i did nothing wrong, you’re the one blowing things out of proportion” you exclaim as you furrow your eyebrows and dig ur pointer finger into his chest.
“you’re so out-“ SLAP
god that felt so good
“what the fuck!? what was that for!”
“you’re acting like a fucking cunt!” you scream before turning on your heel and locking yourself in the shared bedroom.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d52877d39a71c5a4d698553287f79e0/4294183a33194e76-78/s500x750/989f47a3fc2a5fdbf2232d740e967fe2f76e6fdc.jpg)
*knock* *knock*
“baby, please open up”
“fuck off”
“baby, you’re starting to piss me off now open up”
you give no response as you try to suppress your small sobs
“fucking hell” seunghan whispers under his breath, rolling his eyes as he grabs his car keys and jacket from the couch.
you hear the front door shut while you dig under the covers to find your phone.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d52877d39a71c5a4d698553287f79e0/4294183a33194e76-78/s500x750/989f47a3fc2a5fdbf2232d740e967fe2f76e6fdc.jpg)
“aeri you dont understand, he’s so infuriating! i cant stand him all he does is cause problems” you sob while recounting the events that occurred earlier in the day
“y/n, im telling you as a friend but also as a sister, you should consider breaking up with him, everyone has noticed that you’ve been so down, and seems like its been taking a toll on you, this isn’t healthy”
“you don’t understand at all oh my god” you hiccup “i love him too much to leave and i know he feels the same way”
“but he doesn’t act like it at all”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d52877d39a71c5a4d698553287f79e0/4294183a33194e76-78/s500x750/989f47a3fc2a5fdbf2232d740e967fe2f76e6fdc.jpg)
seunghan had left the shared home, trying clear his mind rant to his friend.
he tried to wrap his head around why he would act like that. but now that he thinks about it, he’s always acted like this, over exaggerating the seriousness of everything.
he recollects what he had said before, insisting that the forced close proximity was comparable to cheating. even things that have happened before, such as the incident where he mistook your kindness towards a waiter as flirting.
seunghan realises that it was never a two way toxicity, rather only coming from him. the immense guilt he currently feels is nothing compared to the sadness he has caused you.
“hyung i messed up so bad” seunghan is currently sobbing, with head his hands while his phone plays on loudspeaker “like really bad, im pretty sure shes crying right now”
“seunghan, im sure she is, you literally insinuated that she cheated on you ‘cuz she was next to a guy?” eunseok’s sure that his friend has never acted irrationally before, but seeing how he reacted to such a small thing, he thinks he needs to reevaluate his friend.
“hani, im telling you as an older brother, fix it while you can, you won’t know how much this may have effected her until you talk to her, the more you put it off, the worse it will get”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d52877d39a71c5a4d698553287f79e0/4294183a33194e76-78/s500x750/989f47a3fc2a5fdbf2232d740e967fe2f76e6fdc.jpg)
you leave the room you’ve locked yourself in for the past three hours, throat burning in thirst, you head to the kitchen to fetch a drink. while you finish your cup of water, you hear the gears turn in the door, indicating seunghan had returned from whatever, wherever. you don’t care right now.
now you two are standing opposite each other, both avoiding any sort of eye contact.
seunghan takes steps forward towards the sink to wash his hands, conveniently you’re standing right next to it, so you take your chance to swerve away from him. seunghan swears his heart breaks even more than before.
you take three big leaps and now you are in your living area of the apartment. your emotions are all over the place, one second you were upset, the next emotionless, and now your angry. angry that he still hasn’t said anything (mainly apologised) despite him being the one who had the worser choice of words.
you turn to face him with a disgusted look on your face. “why cant you just let go of that pride of yours?” you dont shout, you dont want another argument, no matter how angry you were currently.
seunghans lost for words, he wasn’t expecting a confrontation this early on into coming home.
“you know i love you, and i know you love me.” you sigh, relaxing all your facial muscles so rather than seeming annoyed, you seem approachable now. “but you cant make everything into a problem because you didnt like it” seunghans head falls to face the bottom of the sink as you relay your feelings
“we’re in a relationship, if you don’t like something, tell me and ill do my best to fix it. im hoping you’d do the same for me” you continue as you stare at the side of his face.
seunghan sighs while he dries his hands on a tea-towel and walks over towards you. both of his hands are now placed on the sides of your face
“i do love you. i love you so much it hurts.” his eyes sparkle with love and adoration. “i’ll be honest i dont know why i acted like that, but i’m so sorry that i did. i’ll try harder to never act like that again, i dont want my pretty girl crying sad tears because of me” he says while wiping his thumbs over your dried tears.
you let out a small smile, this is just what you wanted, seunghan to take accountability. you lean up to place a peck on his lips before pulling him into an embrace.
“i love you” you both say at the same time, leading you to pull away from each other and fall into a pit of giggles and pressing kisses against each others faces.
seunghan moves a strand of hair behind your ear and leans towards it, whispering a small “i love you so so so so much”placing small kisses to the top of your ear after every “so”, and he finally presses a long smiley kiss onto your lips, exerting enough force to bring out another giggle from you and reciprocating the kiss.
no matter how much you fight, you can always kiss it better.

Inevitable
A/N: Barbatos' powers amaze and terrify me. I hope you enjoy this! <3 Aerie Warnings: Brothers arguing, anxiety (barely) Pairing: Barbatos x GN!MC Words: 4263 ✨My Masterlist✨
As you make your way down the hall to the dining room, your housemates’ voices are echoing off the walls. Something’s got them chattering over each other, but you can’t be sure what the topic is. It’s almost always something stupid. You laugh to yourself as you take your seat, ready to hear what ridiculousness is happening tonight.
But, as you’re shaking out your napkin, you realize that a hush has fallen over the room. You look up to find everyone staring at you. Normally, you’d think nothing of it, but with the combined silence, it’s almost eerie.
You glance around the room. You start to wonder whether something is on your face, or if your hair is doing something weird. “What’s up, guys?”
“Nothin’,” Mammon says, grabbing his fork. His eyes cast down and you watch his cheeks tinge pink. Beel starts to pile food onto his plate, without looking at you. Asmo wears a devilish grin, but remains quiet.
“Guys?” You set your napkin in your lap. No one makes any attempt to answer. The only ones still looking at you are Lucifer and Asmo. “Am I in trouble?” You ask, waiting for Lucifer to scold you for something. What did you do? Oh God. Did you fail that exam?
He scoffs, “No. You are merely the subject of a new argument.”
Ah. Of course. You nod as you twirl your fork in your pasta and lift it to your mouth. “What’s it about this time?” You ask. Again, no one moves to answer. You sigh and take a bite. Once you’ve finished chewing, the room is still quiet, save for the sounds of forks hitting plates.
You tap your fingers against the table top. “No one’s gonna tell me why we’re arguing tonight?”
“No.” Satan says. You shrug and continue eating; there’s no reason for your food to get cold, after all.
But just as you go to take another bite, Asmo opens his mouth, “We were wondering who you had a crush on when you first arrived.”
You nearly choke at his words, eyes bulging out of your head. You sputter and cough and finally recover, clearing your throat violently as you try to ignore the burning in your cheeks. “I didn’t have a crush on anyone.” You answer, before taking a long, slow sup of water.
“You know we don’t believe you,” Beel starts, shoveling another pile of pasta into his mouth.
“Because you almost just choked to death.” Belphie finishes.
You roll your eyes, “Yeah, thanks for the help there, guys.”
Belphie just shrugs and starts to eat, handing his twin the bread from this plate. You give him a look and momentarily consider bringing up the first time you were choked to death, but decide against it. Because, while it would definitely change the subject, it would bring around a worse one.
“Well?” Asmo asks, expectantly.
“Well what?”
Asmo huffs, “who did you like when you first got here?”
“I– I didn’t like anyone,” you lie, picking at your food.
He smirks and points his fork at you accusingly, “ah ah ah. I can tell when you’re lying, sweetie. Come on. When you got here, you had to have thought at least one of us was attractive.”
With everyone’s eyes on you, your face only gets warmer. You can see your reflection in the platter in front of you and it’s rivaling the spaghetti on your plate. “You’re all attractive,” you answer, denying them a straight answer.
Not that it’s any of their business anyway, but your first reactions were fear and confusion. And if you had found one of them attractive immediately, it wasn’t any of the seven demons around the table now. No, it was someone else.
You smile fondly, remembering your first appearance in the Devildom. How you’d appeared in the middle of a strangely dark, candle lit room surrounded by seven strangers. It was terrifying. They were terrifying. You’d thought it was a crazy dream. Something that would be gone by morning.
But never in your wildest dreams could you have come up with them.
Diavolo and Lucifer had been standing side by side; the prince with an eager expression on his face while the Avatar of Pride seemed… unimpressed to say the least. Beelzebub looked angry, though you now know that he was probably just hungry.
Levi’s head was down, with his Switch in his lap. Asmo was on his phone, most likely live blogging about the #newhumanexchangestudent on Devilgram. Satan seemed absolutely pissed off, arms crossed with his eyebrows forming a V in the center of his forehead. (Probably Lucifer’s fault.)
Of course, Belphie wasn’t in attendance. And Mammon had decided not to show up, being the loveable idiot that he is. That left only one demon, the first person you saw when you came through the portal. The man who’d opened it. You’d frozen when you saw him, as if time itself had come to a halt.
He was beautiful.
It was Barbatos.
“Yer smilin’! Who’re ya thinkin’ about?!” Mammon demands, snapping you back to the present. He’s standing up with his palms on the table, leaning across it to look at you. And seven pairs of eyes are on you, once again.
“I was NOT smiling! Shut up.”
“LOL. You totally were,” Levi chimes in, looking up from his Switch. Some things never change.
Lucifer clears his throat, “I’m sure there are better topics of conversation–”
“No, this is a great topic!” Asmo grins, staring you down. He’s right across from you and you could swear he’s trying to charm you. He’s doing that weird eye thing and it’s just unnerving, especially since you know what he’s capable of. With anyone else, that is.
“Asmo, that doesn’t work on me,” you remind him with a sigh.
“Come onnnnn~ MC! Tell us, please!” He whines.
Beel stops chewing for a moment, “you don’t have to tell us.”
“I know it wasn’t me,” Levi mutters to himself. Ah, the ever self-loathing otaku.
“I bet it was Diavolo,” Satan says, matter of factly.
“Why in the world would you guess Diavolo?” Lucifer asks, incredulously.
“Well, he’s the most powerful of us; he was the first to speak. He stood out from the rest of us, because he wears red and we all wear black. And, it would be incredibly embarrassing for them to admit that they had a crush on our prince.” The fourth-born says, as if he’d given it a lot of thought.
Lucifer’s eyes bore into yours, looking for any indication that his younger brother is right. You give him no such confirmation, instead looking down into your plate. You silently continue to eat your meal, ignoring them. But they won’t let it go. They keep asking, guessing, begging you to tell them. But you refuse time and time again.
It’s embarrassing! What if someone told Barbatos? You would die!
“I bet it was Beel.” Belphie smiles.
“Well, it was probably Satan,” Levi mumbles.
“Was it Lucifer? OMG, it was! Wasn’t it? That’s why you’re scared to say!” Asmo says, trying his best to get you to tell. You shake your head, offering no other clue.
Within the next ten minutes, they’ve all taken turns guessing and providing evidence. And they keep pestering you. It’s driving you insane. After the two-millionth time, you finally groan.
“It was Asmo, all right?!” You lie, hoping they’ll drop it once they have an answer.
“Oh!” Asmo squeals in delight. “I knew it!”
At that, the table erupts into madness again. You rub your temples. Letting everyone believe you had a crush on Asmo was easier than telling them the truth. Because Asmo already believes that everyone with a pulse wants him. (Apparently there are also a couple of ghosts interested in him as well, if you believe in that sort of thing.)
“ENOUGH!” Lucifer bellows, bringing the conversation to a screeching halt. Everyone settles down and he clears his throat. “It’s not important. Talk about something else,” he commands.
After a few moments of awkward silence, Beel clears his throat. “Um, I have a fangol game in a couple days. Does anyone wanna come?” he asks.
“I’ll go,” you answer cheerfully. You do enjoy his games, though you don’t quite understand the rules yet.
Beel beams, “I’ll text you the info later.”
You nod and everyone continues eating. Levi curses at his game and Lucifer scolds him for playing a game at the dinner table. Satan mentions a book he’s been reading. And Belphie is almost asleep. Asmo is still giggling periodically and blowing kisses your way any time you meet his eye. You roll yours and blow one back.
“I don’t get why you had a crush on Asmo.” Mammon grumbles. “He’s, like, the obvious choice.”
Asmo huffs, “well of course I am.”
You look back and forth between the Avatars of Greed and Lust. Their relationship is rocky to say the very least, now there’s another reason for them to fight. You sigh internally. How do you fix this?
“I don’t know why you think you’re all that. I’m a model and I don’t act as vain as you.” Mammon growls.
“Model, pfft,” Asmo snorts.
“I am! And I’m MC’s best friend, so–”
“Why does it matter? You weren’t even there!” You shout at the second born, whose eyes widen. He looks like you’ve slapped him and Asmo has a shit-eating grin on his face. You drop your voice back to its normal level and continue, “I’m sorry for yelling at you, Mam. I love all of you idiots. And you’re all attractive. And I’m glad we’re friends. So… can’t we just drop it?”
Mammon nods, eyes back on his plate. Everyone seems to agree. But, oh, it’s never that simple, is it?
“Ooooh, if you’d shown up like you were supposed to, you could’ve been MC’s first Devildom crush!” Asmo teases.
Mammon curses and starts to defend himself. “Well, why the hell should I have shown up?”
“Maybe cuz Lucifer told you to be there?” Levi says.
“I woulda been there, but I didn’t know they were gonna be so…” Mammon trails off, his eyes fall on you and his face is beet red.
“You’re just mad because MC doesn’t like you the way you like them.”
All you can do is watch as they start up again, fighting over something equally stupid. But this time, instead of trying to deescalate, you grab your plate and slip away to your room without another word. Let Lucifer handle his brothers.
–
As you finish your dinner, now perched on your bed with your plate in your lap, you start to think about your feelings for Barbatos. Of course, they began the day you arrived. A simple crush, based solely on his appearance. But it’s more complex than that now.
You’ve gotten to know him. (Well, as much as you can between all debacles that you’ve been through, which are apparently commonplace in the Devildom.) You know that he likes to cook, but baking is his favorite. He enjoys taking walks at night when he’s done with his chores. He’s afraid of rats, which you think is adorable, and which he denies. And he’s a kind person, with seemingly endless patience.
He’s proven that time and time again, by putting up with the brothers. He gives Luke baking lessons, which you’ve sat in on a few times. He’s the man behind Diavolo, who helps keep the Devildom running.
And he’s saved your life!
You shudder, the memory of that day suddenly makes you ill. You sit your half-full plate on the desk and start to get ready for bed. And maybe, maybe, one day you’ll tell Barbatos how you feel. On your deathbed or something.
–
The next morning, when you arrive at RAD, you find that the news of your ‘crush’ has spread.
“So, Asmodeus says you had a crush on him when you first arrived in the Devildom,” Solomon says, sliding into the seat next to yours. Asmo himself appears on the other side of the table.
“I can’t blame them!” He says, clicking his tongue.
“Neither can I,” Solomon agrees. The demon makes a kissy face.
“I have to get to my class. Oh! MC, I’ll see you later, lover!” Asmo says with a wink and a grin before wandering off to spread the word. You groan, your head on your arms on the table.
Solomon laughs softly. “He’ll stop teasing you eventually. Don’t worry about it.” When you don’t answer he adds, “And if you wanted to, you could use your pact to make him stop.”
You consider it. But, using your pact every ten seconds sounds exhausting. “What if I was lying?” You ask, peering into the wizard’s eyes.
“You didn’t have a crush on Asmo?” He asks in return, eyebrow raised.
You shake your head. “They were all fighting and it was getting out of hand.”
“So, you tried to misdirect. And told them it was Asmo.” He guesses.
“Exactly. I thought it would be easier. Like, everyone’s infatuated with him. It was a good idea at the time.”
“But now?”
“I don’t know. I just… I don’t want things to be tense at the House. But I don’t want everyone to know who I really like.” You answer, fiddling with one of the buttons of your uniform.
“Who you like… You mean, currently?” Solomon asks, interest piqued. He caught you!
“What? No. Like-d,” You emphasize the ‘duh’ sound. And curse yourself for slipping up.
“Mmhmm.” He doesn’t seem convinced. Damn it.
–
Unfortunately, by the end of the school day, everyone in the Devildom seems to know. What’s worse is it reached Diavolo, who found it interesting. However, it’s currently interrupting the council meeting.
The council meeting at which all exchange students are present, to give updates on their time in the Devildom. The angels are both shocked but not surprised by this. And Solomon is amused.
“Are these meetings always like this?” asks Simeon, who has his hands clasped over Luke’s ears, protecting him from a string of profanities.
“If I’d been there, it woulda been me!” Mammon shouts.
“Well you weren’t and it wasn’t!” Asmo shouts back. You raise a hand to your forehead, copying Lucifer without meaning to.
“It doesn’t even matter, let it go.” Belphie chimes in. It seems like he just wants some peace so he can nod off.
“It would matter to you if you hadn’t been locked in the attic.” Levi mumbles under his breath.
Looking down, Belphegor drops his head onto his pillow, facing away from everyone else.
“Can we please talk about something school related now?” Beel asks.
Everyone pauses for a moment to consider his request. Then, everyone starts arguing. You can’t even tell what the fight is about now. There’s so much being said and you can’t keep up. Insults are flying across the room, from all sides.
Lucifer, at the end of his rope, is about to snap his pen in two. Diavolo doesn’t quite know what to do. And Simeon is leading Luke towards the door, in case a physical fight breaks out. A dark aura starts to fill the space around Lucifer and your eyes widen. Does no one else see that?
There’s only one way to settle this. To tell the truth.
Or at least part of it.
“Stop it!” You shout. Suddenly, everyone’s eyes snap to your now-burning face. “I lied! Okay? It wasn’t Asmo.”
“Then who?”
“It doesn’t matter! It’s just a stupid crush. I’m not telling you. I lied to get you to shut up, but I made it worse. Stop fighting over something stupid. Please.”
A couple of them start to mutter under their breath.
“Do not make me start using pacts!” You threaten, eyebrows drawn into an angry V. Of course, you’d never take their voices away, but damn if it didn’t seem nice. You glance around the room, looking each of them in the eyes. When your gaze meets Barbatos’, you look away quickly, cheeks warming.
“OH. MY. WORD.” Asmo says, his mouth dropped open in surprise. He’s caught you. When you look at him, silently begging for him to keep his mouth shut, he merely gives you a side eye.
“What?!”
Asmo smirks. “I know who it really was.” He sings. Everyone’s looking at him, waiting to know the truth. And he’s about to tell him. God, think faster! Maybe he’ll keep your secret if you’re dead, you think, eyeing the window. It’s tall enough, right?
Before anything can happen, Solomon speaks.
“Asmodeus, shut up.” He says sternly, unafraid to use his pact with the fifth-born. The Avatar of Lust falls silent in his seat, glaring daggers at his other master. You mouth ‘thank you’ to the wizard and he nods subtly.
“Um, since I’m just the token human here, you guys don’t really need me, right? I don’t feel great.” You say.
Diavolo chuckles, “you can go, MC. Take care.”
“Thank you.” You stand and quickly exit the council room, relieved. You take a deep breath just as the door closes behind you and start towards the stairwell, ready to climb into your bed. Or maybe under it.
Hell, maybe you’ll get a bit of peace and quiet at the House by yourself. At least until the brothers get home. Or, until Solomon’s order is no longer effective and Asmo is free to blab your secret all over the Devildom.
You cringe at the thought, then quickly resume towards the stairs, determined to get a head start. You might have enough time to teach yourself an invisibility spell before they return. It’s a nice thought, but the dream is shattered when you hear soft footsteps approaching.
You turn on your heel, ready to scold one of your nosy demons for following you, but the words die in your throat. Because, instead of one of your housemates, you find yourself face to face with the source of the problem.
“Uh, hi, Barbatos.”
“I’ve come to check on you.” He says simply.
“Oh. I’m fine.” You wave it off. “I’m not sick or anything. I just hate their fighting.”
“Mmhmm. It is quite annoying. They give me headaches,” Barb says with a sigh.
“Me too! I’ve gone through two bottles of ibuprofen in the last year!” You exclaim.
“You grow accustomed to them after a few millennia.” Barbatos jokes, running his hand through his hair. He starts to say something else, then pauses. His green eyes once again meet yours and he smiles softly. “Could I walk you home?”
“You don’t have to.”
“I want to.”
You think about it. On one hand, you’ve been dying to spend more time alone with him. And with everyone else tied up in the meeting, this is a perfect opportunity. But, on the other hand, he probably has better things to do. And you’re not dating. Oh you wish you were, but he has no idea how you feel. And you’re terrified to tell him.
Oh, it’s just the stupidest situation. To be in love with the one demon in the world who doesn’t want you back. At least, that’s how it feels, with the brothers constantly pulling you in different directions. A minute passes, and you’re still trying to figure out what to do.
Should you accept? Should you tell him no? Should you tell him you love him?
You realize that he’s giving you a look. “MC? Are you all right?”
“It’s you!” You blurt out. As soon as the words leave your mouth, you slap your hand over it. Curse your stupid brain!
His eyes widen briefly at your outburst. And you’re ready to shrivel up and die. Until his expression softens and he smiles, “I know.”
“Wh– You know?” You repeat, bewildered.
“Yes.”
“How?” You ask. Barbatos glances towards the council room and grimaces. You can’t make out what’s being said, but apparently they haven’t settled down. Oh God. Solomon’s order wore off.
“Can we walk?” He asks, gesturing down the hall. You nod and start to follow him. He leads you to an empty classroom, rather than to the staircase. Once you’re both inside, he closes the door.
You stand stiffly, arms crossed in front of you, holding your bag against your chest. “So, did Asmo–”
“No,” Barb quickly cuts you off, to your relief. At least the others are clueless.
“Then how did you know?” You ask, afraid to hear the answer. Were you that transparent? Was he a mind reader? Of course Barbatos knows everything, it’s his job. But this? This is ridiculous!
“First, I want you to tell me why.”
You furrow your brows, “why what?”
“I’m just curious. Out of everyone… Me?” He trails off, eyes never straying from your face.
“Uh, I– You were the first person I saw when I came through the portal. I guess you must’ve opened it?” You wander aloud. He nods and you continue. “I was so scared. I had no idea what was happening. But when I saw you, I knew I was safe. And you… just had this look on your face. It was beautiful.” Your voice drops to a whisper as you finish.
A dusting of pink appears across his features as he absorbs your answer. You start to panic when he laughs, but he smiles at you fondly. “That look on my face, you caused it.”
You make a face. Sure he’d seen a human before?
He notices your confusion and continues. “Oh. MC. I’d been waiting for hundreds of years to meet you. Then you finally arrived and you were even more lovely than I remembered. I was awestruck.”
Your face is on fire at the compliment. It takes a few seconds for the rest of his confession to register. “Wait. Hundreds of…” Your eyes widen.
“You know what my power is,” he states, waiting patiently for you to connect the dots.
“Yeah, I know you can see the future, but hundreds of years?!” You drop your bag on the ground and move to sit on an empty desk, no longer able to trust your legs. You raise a hand to your head, raking it through your hair as you try to regain your senses. “You’ve known I have a crush on you for hundreds of years?”
Barbatos chuckles softly and comes to stand in front of you. He takes one of your hands in his. “I saw us together centuries before you were ever born. And I’ve been waiting for you ever since.”
As you try to take this in, you can only focus on the way your hand feels in his. Through his gloves, you can feel the warmth of his palms. Coupled with the way he strokes the back of your hand with his thumb, it’s perfect.
“W-wait, together? You want me too?” You realize, feeling stupid.
“Of course I do.”
“But you never said anything!” You accuse, eyes on the ground. “You could’ve told me.”
He sighs and kneels at your feet, in order to look up at your face. “I know. I’m sorry. I… You have to understand, I’ve seen dozens of timelines. Maybe hundreds.”
You swallow deeply, trying to imagine the burden of knowing the future. Of knowing several possible futures. It’s impossible.
“I’ve seen our meeting many times. Seeing you for the ‘first time,’ as you came through the portal, I’ve had that etched in my mind for so long. But, after that, there were dozens of possibilities. Little changes here and there. I wasn’t sure how it was meant to be. And I didn’t want to force it. I knew it would happen, eventually. I was just… waiting.”
“You wanted it to happen naturally,” you say.
“Yes. Like this.” He smiles, placing your hand over his heart.
“Wait.” Something else has just dawned on you. You gaze into his eyes for a few seconds, trying to form the question on your tongue. “Do we always end up together?” You finally ask, your voice shaky.
He seems reluctant to answer, but does anyway, we do.”
The answer is overwhelming.
“Really?”
His face drops at the wobble in your voice. “You’re disappointed.”
“No, never! I just… We’re soulmates?” You ask. The idea brings tears to your eyes.
“I suppose that’s a word for it.” Barb says, with a look on his face. You fling yourself off the desk, arms wrapping around the demon in front of you. His wind around you in return and, after a second, he exhales. He feels like he’s been holding his breath since you’d arrived. And now, after so long, you finally knew.
And though he knew you were meant for each other– that you were ‘soulmates,’ he’ll never forget the adorable expression on your face when you said that– it was still a relief knowing that you felt the same. That it wasn’t just a ridiculously convoluted set of coincidences. Barbatos starts to laugh, it rumbling deep in his chest, before rising to his feet, taking you with him.
You gasp as he lifts you up and spins you around. And when he sets your feet gently on the ground, tears are shining in his eyes. You cup his face and rub your thumb in a tiny circle on his cheek. Barb turns his head until his lips are pressed against your wrist.
Then he leans in, pressing a soft kiss to your lips as well. “You are the love of all my lives. In any timeline.”

moon meets the girls from æspa
masterlist ☾ requests are open (please lol) feedback is always important to me!
"And... cut. Good job everyone! We'll have a short break for the commercials now." the director said behind the camera, and Moon bowed at the staff.
"Thank you for having me!" she waved at them as her manager came closer with her phone and a blanket.
Moon was invited by Music Bank to cover Soobin and Arin on their First Half Special episode while the two regular mcs performed with their group. As she didn't have any schedule, she was more than happy to accept.
After giving one more bow to the staff, she left the waiting room.
"Oppa, I'm starving!" she told her manager, who giggled and shook his head.
"When aren't you starving?" he asked back. Moon looked at him with a killing gaze, and he laughed out loud. "Let's get some drink, and then we can go to McDonald's."
"McDonald's?" she asked, smiling widely, and he nodded. "Let's gooo!"
After passing by her dressing room and changing her Regina George costume to the casual outfit she had arrived in, Moon followed her way to the drink truck outside the building.
The line wasn't too long, and the people there were mainly staff and managers getting drinks to their artists. Deciding to entertain herself, Moon took her phone and started checking her social media.
"Ya, I already told you I didn't eat the strawberries!" she heard someone saying behind her but decided to ignore.
"Ning Ning, do you swear on your lizard you didn't?" another girl asked.
Ning Ning. Moon heard this name before. When the girl was about to answer, someone shushed her.
The sound behind Moon got quieter by the second, and when she looked back to see what had happened, she found four curious girls looking at her, and Moon quickly recognised them as the girls from Aespa.
"Hello." Moon made the first move and bowed at them.
"H-Hi," one of the girls, Karina, as long as Moon knew, said. "I'm Aesp- I mean, we're Aespa. I'm Karina."
Moon giggled with her nervousness.
"We're huge fans, sunbaenim!" the red-haired, Ning Ning, said, bowing.
"Oh, my God!" Moon whined, patting Ning Ning's shoulder. "Thank you so much. I watched your stage today, and it was so good. You guys are really on the next level."
The girls all laughed, but they were too shy.
"She made a joke with our song, guys." Winter said in a high pitched voice, making Moon laugh. "Is this a dream?"
"No!" Moon shook her head, smiling. It was fun to see that other artists liked her that much. "Let me pay for your drinks." she offered.
The girls shook their heads right away, and Moon pouted.
"We don't deserve this." Giselle said.
"Of course you do!" Moon waved them off. "Come on, it's just some drinks. Please!"
"Are we really making a sunbaenim beg?" Winter asked her members, and they chuckled.
"Yeah, she's right!" Moon pointed at her and had an idea. "Actually, can I have your numbers? We can go out someday with Bee. What do you guys think?"
"We'd love it!" Karina said for them.
Moon unlocked her phone and passed it to the girls so each of them could dial their numbers and save it the way they wanted it. Karina saved it as 'Aespa Karina', Giselle saved it as 'Aeri', Winter saved it as 'Winter-nim', and Ning Ning saved it as '2Ning'.
"I know you might be busy this week..." Moon started saying but was interrupted by Giselle. "We're not busy for you!" the girl exclaimed. "Like, never."
"Oh my God." Ning Ning mumbled, embarrassed by her member and tried to hide behind Karina's shoulder. "She really did that."
When Moon was about to say how good their new song was, the woman of the drink truck called her, indicating it was their turn to choose the drink. Ordering her drink, Moon made space so the girls could step forward and ask theirs.
"We'd like four Iced Americano." Karina said without even looking at the menu.
When Moon checked, she realised she was ordering the cheapest drink. Shaking her head, she touched Karina's shoulder.
"You can ask whatever you want, guys. I offered to pay. Don't worry." she assured them once again. They looked at each other for a couple of seconds, and Winter turned at Moon.
"Are you sure, sunbaenim?" she asked. "We didn't want to make you waste your money with us."
"It's an honour to waste some money with you!" Moon said, winking at them and trying to break the tension in the air. "No, really. Just order whatever you want."
"Okay. We'll pay you the next time we meet." Karina said as if she was trying to make a deal with Moon.
"Girl, just order the drinks!" Moon playfully exclaimed and pointed at the truck with her head, making the girls laugh.
Once with their drinks in hand, Moon swiped her card and paid for it. Turning around to the girls, she realised a guy getting closer, probably their manager.
"Thank you so much, Moon sunbaenim." Giselle said, bowing.
"Stop calling me sunbaenim. We're all almost the same age, right?." Moon said, caressing her arm.
"Girls," the guy suddenly said, confirming Moon's guess that he was really their manager. "we have to go. We're late for the practice."
Looking at them, Moon pouted. They seemed to be good girls, and Moon honestly thought they could be friends.
"We have to go now." Karina said. "But thank you so much, Moon. We really don't know how to thank you."
"Oh, don't mention it." Moon waved her off. "It was my pleasure to pay it for you." she held her fist up. "Aespa, fighting!"
They smiled at Moon and did the same.
"Moon, fighting!"
Moon smiled and waved at them as they walked away.
"Bye, guys!"
"Bye, sunbaenim!"

Opinion on MCL UL and on episode 16:
I stopped playing mcl long time ago when there were only 5 to 6 episode on university life. I couldn't take it after my babes Lysander and Armin were taken away. I tried i really tried but to no avail. I just couldn't get into Mcl anymore.
Even tho i stopped playing i kept myself informed about the plot, the game, the characters and the illustrations.
And so when i saw this episode cgs i was like god this is getting hot ! I need to know what happened. And so i found myself watching Aerie's videos.
So here is my opinion:
1-Hyun's route:
This route have less drama than a 1 year old baby's life. Its a very dramaless route. Not that i mind. I dont mind routes that are sweet and peacefull for the most part (Ikerev Ray). But god oh god is this guy boring. I don't know. Yeah he's very sweet but thats pretty much it. There were some theories in the beginning of UL that said he was a yandere. That would have been a good idea and it would add to hyun's route some spice. All in all hyun's route is a flat boring route and the smexy time with him felt as akward and flat as my ironing board. (The cg is very pretty tho)
2-Priya
Most likely one of the best routes in the game. Its very balanced. I like how they took time to talk about how mc felt insecure about being with a girl for the first time. Priya is a sweetheart. I liked her back in MCL HL but only as a friend. For the smexy Mc felt nervous about doing it with a girl and so they didnt do it until mc felt better and more at ease. I liked that a lot. BUT i felt like the scene was rushed. So much more could be done... i was disapointed. Also mc's body proportion in the cg looked wrong.
3-Rayan
Okay okay Beemoov got me there with the sexy teacher AT FIRST. I thought we would have a very mature relationship with an older and very level headed and mature person. But i feel that out of all the 5 routes mc and rayan relationship is the most childish and immature. I mean common she threw herself in her arms in front of everyone, she almost called him by his name in public many times, the "library date" was just so obvious. And they get all paranoïd at the wrong time.... i mean baby just walk into the building normally, there is nothing suspicious about that and no one even know rayan lives there. Looking left and right like a thief makes you stand out even more. Now to the smexy time: Euh...how can i say that....it felt very short...? I mean common when it ended i was like : "What? That's it? Well that was fast...the guy didnt last long" but again he didnt have sex in 5 years so i forgive him.
4-Castiel
I like his route a lot. Its my favorite. Its very well balanced between romance, fluff and drama. Sometime castiel felt kind of OOC but i didn't really mind. I actually dont have much to say about him. The smexy time was normal. I read better written smut in other otome games and even on tumblr but yeah it was acceptable. I feel that in general beemov can't write smut. Even in eldarya i had the same issue with it. It always feel rushed flat and empty. But castiel is a sweetheart we must protect. The cg was pretty....i had one issue with it : GOD PLEASE MC DONT LOOK AT THE "CAMERA" LIKE THOSE P*RN ACTRESS IN THOSE CHEAP MOVIES.
5-Nath
Does beemov have something against nath? Why do you need to make the poor guy suffer so much. When i finished reading nath's route i almost felt like crying. And that comes from someone who is very emotionally detached from mcl because i havent been playing it. Poor nath addicts. I feel you girl. His route is too dramatic. Give the poor guy a break. At this point of his live i feel like the only thing that keep him from jumping off a building is mc. The smexy time was very dramatic and sad rather than sexy. I dont even think we should call that smexy times. I didnt feel hot or sexy. It felt sad. Like a very cold shower. I admit that nath scene was very well written. But please beemoov of you see this give the damn guy a break. He deserve it.
Well that's pretty much it. That was very long. But thank you for reading my rantings.
I feel that beemoov writing is getting worst every episode. Or maybe it is just me because i started playing other otome games with way better writing and plot.

Any Other Name Part 43
Jimin’s eyes scoured for any sign of MC. He’d only caught a glimpse at her on the red carpet, though she had been carefully shielded by Yoongi, and she had since disappeared. Even after asking her mother where MC could be, Jimin was no closer to spotting her, and he was feeling anxious. Could he even remember the last time he was at an event like this without her? Or the last time they fought for this long?
After running a hand through his hair as he sighed tiredly, Jimin noticed an all-too-familiar head of curly blonde hair storming toward him. “Oh no,” he groaned. Slightly trembling with fear, he forced a smile as she stopped next to him. “Hi, Aimee.”
“What are you hiding, Park Jimin?” Aimee’s eyes narrowed at her cousin’s best friend as she took a glass of champagne from a server.
“Since when are you old enough to drink?”He half expected that she was still underage when she broke into a playful smile.
“Since I turned 21,” she laughed. “Anyway, what are you moping about?”
“How could you possibly know that something happened?” Jimin threw his hands up in defeat. “I think you talked to MC, and that’s why—”
“So something happened between you and MC, and that’s why you’re holed up in this corner looking guilty as hell.” When Jimin grimaced, Aimee dropped her teasing tone and softened her voice. Facing him, she asked, “What happened?”
Slowly, in an attempt to shield himself from Aimee’s anger, he began, “I admit that I could have been gentler, but I got upset because she wanted to skp the premiere because of everything that happened with that boy.” The phrase fell from Jimin’s tongue venomously.
Aimee sternly reminded, “Be fair, Jimin. It’s obvious to me that she’s in love with Jungkook, and I was just observing everything through social media. You can’t expect—”
“I get that she liked him,” Jimin said shortly, still unwilling to hear about how unreasonable his expectations were. His whisper adopted a harsher tone as he continued, “But they just met. So how could she have all these feelings for him? What about him makes her this way?”
“Stop being jealous for five minutes ant think about how she feels,” Aimee struggled to control her volume. More calmly, she added, “You know how reserved MC has always been. Before she went to Korea with you, she never branched out beyond me, you, her mom, and her demon sister. Imagine how scared she must have been in a foreign country. And imagine how it must feel to fall in love with one of that country’s most infamous celebrities.”
Jimin squirmed uncomfortably at the exercise of considering life from MC’s perspective; this only worsened as Aimee kept talking. “And think about how she must have felt when she thought she lost you to her sister. You know how lonely MC is, since you were the first person to love her—”
This is the statement that made Jimin lose his control. Pounding a fist against the wall, he seethed, “I know. I know I’m being a selfish, shitty friend. I just—” his voice cracked as he tried to calm his temper, noticing how Aimee flinched. “I knew she and Jungkook wouldn’t last. And I just thought she and I—”
“What the hell, Jimin?” Aimee interrupted, her cheeks burning scarlet under a full face of makeup. “I get that you’re into MC, but that’s screwed up. Don’t you care at all that the only reason she’s heartbroken over Jungkook is because of that psycho, lying Mandi—”
“They never should have been together!” Jimin cried incredulously, attracting the eyes and ears of others. Biting his tongue, he tried to prevent himself from following the negative train of thought. But it was too late. With his entire face throbbing from pent up emotion, he said, “He’s just some guy she met. If anything, he’s supposed to be a fling. He isn’t supposed to be the one!”
Aimee’s passion matched his as she asked, “And you’re supposed to be the one? I don’t think so. MC deserves better than your selfish—”
“Instead she deserves Jungkook when he’s obsessed with his ex?”
“It doesn’t have to be some ultimatum,” Aimee acknowledged, shaking her head at Jimin’s distorted perspective. “Besides, all we know about that is what Mandi publicized, and I don’t trust her.”
Jimin’s lip was beginning to tremble. “Why is it so wrong for me to be in love with MC? I’ve loved her longer—”
“What does that have to do anything?”
Jimin was almost thankful for her interruption. He was humiliated by the words coming out of his mouth— those words that came from the mind of someone truly immature, self-centered, and undeserving of MC.
Aimee said everything Jimin understood despite his troubled behavior. “You’re not entitled to her because you’ve known her longer. Look, it’s one thing for you to express your feelings for her, but it’s wrong to hold them against her. If you need space to work through your feelings, take your space. But quit holding her back with your unspoken expectations, or your friendship will fall apart.”
Before Jimin could argue further, embarrass himself further, a pretty red-headed girl latched onto Aimee’s arm and whispered in a bright voice: “I just met MC, and she gave me her number! She said I could interview her any time!”
Aimee smiled at her sweetly and matched her enthusiasm. “That’s amazing, Aeri! So you’re having a good night?”
“The best night,” the girl, Aeri, corrected with a broad smile. “The only way it could get better if I see Jungkook with my own eyes.”
Still on edge from the conversation with Aimee, Jimin rolled his eyes. Leaning toward the girl, he said, “Aeri, is it?”
Her eyes widened as she turned from Aimee to face him. “I— yes.”
Oblivious to Aimee’s intense glare, Jimin opened his mouth to say something snarky. However, as he fully appreciated her youthful doe-eyed expression, he forgot what he planned to say. A smile crawled across his face as he said, “If you don’t mind, I could give you my number too.”
Aimee rolled her eyes as Jimin continued to flirt with Aeri, who clearly remained oblivious to his advances. “Honestly, Jimin,” Aimee teased as Jimin watched Aeri skip off to introduce herself to another guest. “I think you just have a thing for girls crushing on Jungkook.”
Jimin glared at Aimee shortly before breaking into giggles. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. And I guess I owe MC an apology.”
When Jimin pulled out his phone as Aimee likened talking to him with an emotional roller coaster, he saw a string of messages from MC.

10, 14, 30, and 51 G&S ? :D
10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
Okay, way to start with the hard one right out of the gate. I’m gonna cheat and talk about a book a did kind of co-write with a friend, because that was so much fun. She writes much more domestic/fluffy fantasy–typical stories about princesses and their swooning suitors, but she always put so much heart into them and was so easy about including the softness of female friendship that I was always kinda mesmerized by her parts. Then I’d write something from my character’s perspective (we basically had a dual MC set up) and it would be my typical cynicism and pretending to be emotionless, but because I’d read her parts, it would get a gentler colour than my writing usually has. And that was really interesting, and I loved doing it with her. Those chapters are some of my favourite writing, and now that I think of it, really influenced the tone of Fallen Oak.
But if we’re talking real authors, then somebody PLEASE convince Neil Gaiman I’m worthy of his attention and we’ll do something hysterical involving small children and appropriately ominous faeries.
14. What’s the most research you’ve ever put into a book.
I spent two weeks researching boats and nautical terminology and kinds of boats for a single line in Ghost and Spectre. It was literally for a throwaway line which my MC wasn’t even gonna understand, but the person who said it needed to sound like they knew what they were talking about. So I learned about hundreds of different kinds of rigging and the words of ever little part of every nook and cranny, and basically what I ended up learning was that there was no way that my character could afford a boat as big as I ended up giving him, but I still gave it to him anyway.
30. Favourite line you’ve ever written.
I mean, off the top of my head it’s “Family doesn’t commit genocide together!”.
I’m also partial to “Repressionand tea had yet to fail me.” Honestly, it depends on my mood, but those two are definitely up there (and both classic Aerie snark).
51. Describe the aesthetic of Ghost and Spectre in 5 sentences or words.
Can I cheat and use my blog description? No? Okay, five words:
Blurry. Sarcasm. Road-trips. Repression. Wizards.
