       “Hey, pal.” She playfully jabs a finger into his chest before wrapping her arms around him. “That’s my husband you’re callin’ a dumbass, so you better watch it. I’m very protective of him and I’ve been known to cut a bitch when they’re out of line.” Lou grins at him, slides to the tips of her toes to press a kiss to his lips. “Better watch that mouth. Lovey-dovey is right, but he’s no dumbass.”

Maneuvering had become tougher over the past month or so. Her growing belly tended to get in the way, cause her to waddle, give her aches she hadn’t expected, but Louise generally grit her teeth and bore it because she’d never complain about being able to help nurture the little miracle within her.

But she disliked when Ben noticed how she struggled ( or at least the perception that he had noticed ). Far from her days of being made to feel weak, she hated when she caught herself still believing she was, and that was one of those moments, just briefly anyway. All those misconceptions burned away in the warmth of the fire when she took in the look on her husband’s face.

“ I suppose you may be right, ”  she answered with a crooked grin, softly padding her way to him, her night shirt and house coat swaying with her movements. Louise settled upon his lap, cuddling against him, breathing Ben in as she always did.  “ Oh fine, of course you’re right, ” she teased and nuzzled his neck.

       “ Ben! ”  Lou giggled as he kissed her tummy and tried to squirm away.  “ That tickles! ”  But it was also incredibly sweet and adorable and the giggling fit kept her from bawling over that.

@eversolo / @beefsolo sent:   With permission, he was more careful with his hand placement, cradling his girlfriend by the nape of her neck before leaning down to kiss her. He was tempted to dig his fingers into her side and hear sweet sounds again, but instead he hugged her waist and pulled her closer.

       He had an uncanny ability to make her forget everything for a few moments, even her own name. It was just the two of them there together, intertwined, and it was all she needed to forgive herself for her previous reaction-- and his teasing.

“I forgive you,” she whispered the jokey statement, as if he really did anything that required forgiveness. If anything, she felt like she should apologize for her momentary freak out earlier, but instead, elected to not bring attention to it again. “But I wouldn’t mind if you kept kissin’ me to get more of my forgiveness.”

       “ Oh. my. god. ”  She flushed instantly, remembering the interaction he just HAD to be referring to with that many tongue emojis. It took her a few minutes to recover and to think of something appropriate to send back. Then inspiration hit.

Slipping out of her clothes, Lou took a fairly skillfully angled photograph of her nude form and sent it to him. Not too graphic and nothing with her full face so she could deny it was her if needs be.

@eversolo / @beefsolo sent:  Ben softened a touch, brow furrowing ever so slightly. He didn't close the distance all of the way, but clearly he leaned somewhat into her gravity, hoping she'd meet him halfway. "Sorry... Please?"

       It wasn’t his fault, she reminded herself. He didn’t mean anything by it. She knew that, but she couldn’t help the muscle memory. Now she’d ruined everything; the least she could do was give him some honest affection. Shyly, she met his eyes and moved closer.  “ Come down here then and give me a proper kiss. ”

       On instinct, she pulled away, startled by his movement and then immediately embarrassed that she had reacted that way.  “ No. Bad Ben. ”  Her voice wasn’t nearly as firm as she wanted it.

It wasn't that Ben didn't find what Lou had to say interesting, he had simply gotten distracted by the movement of her lips, staring absentmindedly. That was until a shy hand impeded the view. Had he offended her? He hoped that wasn't the case. Taking her hand, he guided it away and leaned in for a sincere kiss, only parting just enough to whisper the words: "Has anyone told you that you have such a beautiful mouth?" ( >:D )

       She sputtered, flushing almost instantaneously. “ N-no, I don’t believe so. ”  Oh goodness, what a silly response to such a nice compliment. Don’t believe so… She knew for certain no one HAD; why not answer as such?!  Even after all of this time with him, Louise found herself completely THROWN by Ben with just a few words and a kiss. “What… What makes it so beautiful? ”

       “ You’ve been…? ”  Though her voice barely leaves her pouted lips, the surprise in it is as clear as day.  “ I haven’t looked forward to my own birthday since—– ”  A pregnant pause, as Lou considers just how careful she should be with her next words.  “ Since my mother was home. She was the one who made it seem like a special day. ”

Ben thumbed over the young woman's lower lip as he wet his own with a slow pass of his tongue. He could still taste her, but the ghost of her kiss left him unsatisfied and hungry for more. Pulling her sleeves down quickly, Lou took a step away from Ben, twisting so he could see the momentary fear on her face. She hadn’t wanted this to be a thing, hadn’t wanted him to see the remnants of her disagreement with Frankie, and really didn’t want to explain how she resolved it.

“ Ben— ”  She breathed out, quietly, trying not to sound irritated. He cared, that much was written in his expression, but she didn’t want to be trouble for him. More than she already was anyway.  “ It’s… Fine. Frankie showed up unannounced today, demandin’ to see Ollie. He won’t do it again. I made sure of it. ”  She barely looked back at him, just a quick glance.  “ It’s nothin’. ”
