i'm getting a lot of tiktok content for junk journalling and i just find it really funny how the really obvious influencer videos are just like. not really junk journalling. because they're not using garbage, they're using scrapbooking materials that they bought from some online store that Look vaguely used. aesthetically pleasing garbage. and them trying to influence me to buy it does absolutely fuck all for me as a result

#'awww that guys trash looks way better than my trash :(' tragic. anyway i kept the label of a popcorn bag today bc i liked the slogan #i watched a woman cut ransom note letter STICKERS out of a BOOK. just buy some fucking magazines if you have to buy anything!!#hell that could easily be free! im sure you get a lot of junk mail promotions we all do #seeing people recommend scanning/printing copies of receipts to put them in the journal so they wont fade... dude its Trash #by doing that youre just making more trash. so what if it fades so does everything else. it can be an artistic statement #its fundamentally not an influencer friendly type of art which is nice. the tiktok influencer overconsumption bujo stuff gives me hives #levi.txt #and ngl i do use some nice stuff in mine too. im guilty of buying pretty tape and stickers for it from time to time or whatever #mines def not strictly junk #but the difference is im making art for fun and youre making a commercial. so.#the only thing i Have gotten a lil jealous over is that some peoples local stores have very cute plastic bags w fun designs...#we dont have plastic around here anymore and the fabric ones are Hideous
