it is a really old doodle of the 5 stack I used to be in with my friends XD some of them do not play anymore but people might find humor in this.

Unit Teambuilding - Variety Lorelei

I like Lorelei.  She's not a top favorite by any means, but I like her design, and FRLG gave her some added lore that made her really interesting to me.  I, too, love plush dolls.  She just always seemed pretty cool for a Kantonian, pun fully intended.  So when the common grid war decided to take a heaving shit on her, I figured hey.  I guess this is just how life is now.  Lorelei has received depression, and this is probably all she'll ever get.

Here we are like three weeks later and they're already apologizing.  They know they messed up.

General Overview Lorelei and Bruno have a lot of similarities, but function wildly different, and the decision between them may be up to preference.  I’ll try my best to differentiate what they’re good at, but understand a lot of their tools overlap.

Lorelei’s buffing abilities involve X Atk All, and a trainer move that’s +4 Def, +2 crit, and Endurance to all allies.  Right away, you can discern two things.  (1) As a buff unit, Lorelei functions, but is not particularly great at it.  Atk and crit separately means that in three turns, she’s accomplishing what Hop does in two.  The need for MPR on both to cap stats, with trainer move being 1MP, is also wildly painful.  (2) Team-wide Endurance is insane.

Lorelei’s passives are all related to her attack, Icicle Spear.  No Quarter ensures it hits five times.  Recharging Strike 4 is a 50% chance per hit to regain one bar of gauge, while Restoring Strike 2 is a 30% chance to heal herself a bit on each hit.  Grid nodes offer the possibility to debuff speed or defense, at a 20% rate per hit.  Based on this, we can now understand Lorelei’s primary function.

Lorelei is a tank before anything else.  Her grid accommodates this with Vigilance and First Aid 4, which are exceptionally strong tools in tandem with Endurance and Restoring Strike.  Recharing Strike and access to Pep Rally on X Atk All means Lorelei is fairly competent at gauge management as well.  What she struggles with is full buffing, and consistency of secondary effects.  Lorelei can, in theory, debuff defense, but not with any of the certainty that could be expected from CS.  Her buffing is slower, and unreliable to hit cap, so she works best with allies who have at least some self-buffing potential.  And of course, her entire kit skews toward the physical, with exactly no tools of value to special attackers.  Another potential flaw is that Lorelei does not do a great job protecting allies.  +4 Defense and Endurance is nice, but no special defense or ability to heal allies (Initial Syncho Healing is basically worthless) means allies can get worn down, and you’ll want to be aggressive to finish stages fast, or having disruption in play, when facing repeated AoE hits.

EX and Move Level? Support, so the usual 3/5 and EX.  Lorelei can technically accomplish her buffing at 2/5, but she loses debuffing, pop heal, and Vigilance in the trade.  EX isn't strictly necessary, but you know the drill, better defensive stats for tanking and double buff for Gauntlet, etc etc.

Team 1: V!Lorelei, Masked Royal, Nanu A simple CS set.  Masked Royal appreciates a lot of what V!Lorelei can provide in buffs, with crit needing an MPR to cap.  Fleet Feet is ideal in this comp, to help offset more of Royal's buffing phase, letting him get straight to attacking. Nanu debuffs defense well with Screech, maximizing damage, but can also flinch where needed.

Team 2: V!Lorelei, Lodge Silver/Lodge Rosa, Tech Gyarados Lorelei tops off Silver's needed stats nicely, and her own attacking move can provide some really nice utility with the defense debuffs as well, setting up Silver or Rosa's sync

Team 3: V!Lorelei, Elesa, Volkner V!Lorelei's generally best partners are those who don't strictly need the capped crit, handling a little bit themselves.  Elesa is a solid partner, because Lorelei can focus a bit on X Atk All with Pep Rally, rapidly generating speed buffs for Inertia. Volkner supplies the terrain.

Team 4: V!Lorelei, C!Iris, Ghetsis/C!Elesa Iris' trainer move gives her +2 Atk and +1 crit, leaving her wanting a lot of support.  Lorelei's kit is like tailor made for her, with trainer move giving the +2 crit to cap, and X Atk All giving offense and some speed buffs, before she helps break down defense.  Ghetsis can speed up the offenses as needed, or Elesa can speed up debuffing everything ever.

Team 5: V!Lorelei, Gloria, P!Marnie/Tech Magneton Gloria is another like Iris who only needs a bit of help, thanks to her Sharp Entry. Lorelei offers the needed buffs, while Marnie gives Zone or Magneton gives defense debuffs.  One thing I'd like to emphasize is that, thanks to Lorelei's massive defense boosting, you could potentially aim to get the foe to use a physical sync against you, tank it, and then explode with Gloria.

Final Thoughts Lorelei is good, but a bit of a specific generalist, if that statement makes any sense.  I don't feel like she excels at supporting any specific type of unit, she just does a good job broadly within her particular category of "physical strikers."  The biggest hangup she has is really that her trainer move doesn't cap crit, but anything with as little as Sharp Entry handles that just fine.  Those without any ability to buff crit probably don't love her so much, but MPR isn't too difficult to grid.  The real problem is 20% rolls for her defense buffs.  Even with a five-hit combo move, that's living dangerously.  Even a 30% would've felt better.  But, I'm pretty satisfied with her.  The kit feels pretty reasonable.

It's just...think about those team comps, and the strengths and limitations presented.  Does anything stand out to you?  It should.  It really should.  Lorelei's function is Atk/crit buffing.  On separate buttons.  Friends, that is Lodge unit tech.  And given her attack is so inconsistent, it's not like she's some massive threat beyond that either.  You could argue Lodge Blue has better utility with his flinch rate in Stomp.  I need it to be understood that Lorelei here is good, but her primary competition is Hop, you buffs Atk/crit at the same time, and is a free unit.  Limited availability.  This very much could have been a general pool Sygna Suit.  I'm kinda pissed it's not.  Variety scouts kinda suck as a concept, I hate them.

Okay so the only reason I didn't include any explanations is because I was in the middle of eating dinner so let's get started.

Arash: I don't know exactly how much I have to personally say about Arash, this is the safest pick for the best 1-star in the entire game and is one of those Servants I consider irreplaceable and necessary in any Master's roster. Arash's utility is that he makes it way easier to create 3-turn farming comps for nodes that would otherwise be really difficult to find farming comps for. Arash essentially is a nuke the wave button in a Servant, and the fact that Arash also cycles himself out naturally creates a lot of squad flexibility that wouldn't be there otherwise. A free wave clear and an Order Change on a Servant is just extremely strong.

He's only gotten better with Append Skills as well. Mana Loading allows Arash to instant NP with a 50% Charge CE, which often means you can use him to provide event bonuses in events where those CEs are used where he otherwise wouldn't, and the 30% Attack buff against Riders improves his wave clearing.

Obviously he's not perfect, there will definitely be quests where it's just not reasonable to expect him to perform well (high HP neutral mobs and Lancers for instance) and he's generally a bit weak in challenge content but he is by far the best F2P farming Servant we've ever gotten, and is so good he's still useful even if you've pulled all the right DPS and support servants.

Mozart: A really strong budget Arts support, Mozart actually is the epitome of the ideal 1-star Servant. 1-stars, no matter how hard we pretend otherwise, are held back by their very lackluster stats in comparison to other rarities, which affects how long they are able to stay on the battlefield as well as their overall damage. What this means is that 1-stars are not suited to DPS roles or stalling roles, but they are suited quite well to the role of suicidal support. Mozart's ability to guarantee crits as well as provide a ton of additional Arts damage makes him invaluable even in multi-turn fights, and while he can use his NP to further increase the party's damage, he's often just better taking a few attacks to the face and leaving the party, which his low stats help support (this often paradoxically means you want to bring him to support Arts Assassins against Rider enemies, who will blink at him and cause him to die). He's flexible enough to fit in any team and incredible in Arts and Arts Crit teams.

Mata Hari: So this is where I remind you that this is a JP tier list and not an NA tier list. There's two pretty big changes that make Mata Hari better on JP (although I am still quite high on Mata Hari in NA as well). The first is the upgrade to her S1, which is a massively powerful skill. 50% Crit damage to the entire party for 3 turns and a 100% crit star gen bonus for 3 turns is a powerful damage and consistency increasing tool. 100% is the breakpoint for when star generation starts really matter, as it means you will always create 1 crit star with every hit of a card, even an Arts card.

The second is the changes to Quick cards/chains and the addition of the Mighty Chain. This change makes critical hits a lot more common, both through the additional 20% crit modifier to cards AND the 20 crit stars a Quick chain produces. This makes that critical damage modifier way more consistent, and Mata Hari can continue to support the party through her two Def drops, as well as potentially her NP.

She fills the very same role as Mozart in being a suicidal support, someone you pop their skills and let die or switch them out, but Mata Hari benefits from being entirely generic and usable in any team comp. There's also very little reason to focus on her Charms as well; they're too inconsistent to be reliably useful, so they really only feel like additional upside.

Also Skill Seal is THE most underrated status effect in this game. Fight me.

Nobukatsu: Nobukatsu on the surface is everything you would want out of a 1-star. He perfectly fills the role of the suicidal support, providing damage buffs, NP charge, and comes with not only a taunt and a somewhat respectable heal but also an NP which kills him upon use. It's all great looking, but why is he specifically in A?

(It is a high A to be fair.)

Nobukatsu's kit is very good, but it suffers from a couple of flaws. The first is that while he's incredible at supporting his older sister Nobunaga, he's less capable at supporting other Servants. While he's not pathetic by any means, his numbers are a bit on the weak side, especially if you want to use him for crit support since he compares unfavorably to Mata Hari. The second is that he actually can't do everything. If you use his Taunt, he usually dies on that turn, even to Sabers if they're feeling particularly crit happy. If you use his NP, he won't be around to abuse his taunt, and often that also means he won't have a use for his heal or star regen either.

He also lacks an NP charge, which is really important for Servants whose NP is a critical portion of their gameplan. Mozart and Mata Hari's NPs are optional and not important to their gameplan, but Nobukatsu's often isn't. This means you'll need K-Scope or Grand Marshal (preferably the latter too) to get his NP off, and that's if you have unlocked Mana Loading. It's those inconsistencies that can make Nobukatsu underperform. But he's still really good.

Spartacus: Spartacus is the only budget Berserker with an NP charge in his kit, and combined with his class and defense piercing NP, Spartacus is a pretty passable F2P farming Servant. He can even be used in a Koyan-Oberon set-up (although please, god, you've gotta have better Servants). But Spartacus has some pretty major problems. The first is because his ATK stat is so absolutely anemic, his actual wave damage is really quite low, even for a Berserker. The second is that once he's done, he has basically no real role left in the party. His durability is held entirely together by his 1 HP guts, which has a real genuine shot of being broken by one enemy attack, his damage is poor, and his healing gimmick has no real place given his immensely fragile class.

Ultimately, while Spartacus does perform a good niche and will be relevant, he's often replaceable by other Servants, especially high rarity ones.

Mary Anning: Anning is a bit weird to talk about as a Servant, especially since I'll be comparing her to Bunyan later, and they have quite a lot of similarities. AoE Servants intended to be used as cheap farming options. Where Anning succeeds in comparison is just simply by having better skills. Her S1 is a decent Arts magnifier for Female servants, providing 3 well enjoyed buffs although at rather low numbers, her S2 is a powerful star bomb, and her S3 is an AoE charge drain with a small NP charge and a reasonable crit damage buff. Even her NP having Buff Block is pretty decent.

The end result is a Servant who is a bit better than the sum of her parts. Nothing she does is crazy and irreplaceable, but she won't often feel like dead weight either, and while her looping ability isn't very good, she is the only budget AoE Arts Lancer which allows her to carve out a niche there as well.

Sasaki Kojirou: If you needed to know what had to be combined to make a 1-Star DPS seem reasonable, it's having a very tightly tuned and synergistic kit as well as competition that leaves a lot to be desired. His kit allows for a lot of potential critical damage as well as some small debuffing for his NP to hit harder, as well as debuff clearing, Evasion punishing, and hard survival, which he'll need. His NP even generates a very reasonable amount of crit stars.

He's still pretty hampered by low his stats though, and again, his main competition in the budget Quick ST Assassin department is Cursed Arm and Jing Ke, neither of which really prove themselves to be better. It's his lack of easy replacements which makes Kojirou stand out for many people.

Bartholomew Roberts: Bart is honestly pretty hard to actually rate. He's the closest one on the divide between two different rankings on the entire list, and while I put him into C, he could also fit into B. His skill set is pretty solid, having a decent amount of support as well as damage buffs, and his NP is notable for having a special damage condition that allows Bart to punch above his weight.

But, that's where the good points stop. His kit is awkward and somewhat imbalanced, wanting to split the line between support and DPS in a way that makes him feel a bit imbalanced. His generation stats are also really bad as he was intended to not be usable in DSS comps, which means he can struggle actually getting to his NP. Unlike Anning, Roberts is a lot worse without access to his NP, and while Bronze enemies are quite common, Bart's damage will still not feel good against Silver and Gold Caster enemies.

But possibly his biggest downside is that he faces competition in Alexander and Medusa. Alexander has better NP damage and buff removal, while Medusa has the ability to instant-NP and a stun on her kit. While neither one of them are significantly better than Bart, they are still better in a number of situations, and so it leaves Bart dragging a little behind.

Paul Bunyan: I'll be honest here for a moment. I don't like Bunyan very much. What keeps her out of D is that she can be somewhat useful in budget farming comps, thanks to having an AoE NP and a party wide Buster up, but its from there that the good points start to fade away. Her S1 and S3 are fine for increasing damage overall, but they do fall notably a bit short of Mata Hari, who brings extra utility. In addition, Bunyan's Crit damage buff often goes to waste, as Bunyan is really bad at generating crit stars for her teammates.

Really the big kicker is that she's a Berserker, so she's not only incredibly fragile, she often struggles to outdamage a lot of the budget AoE Servants who can counterclass. Her only survivability is in an AoE heal on her S2 which is borderline irrelevant. Since she doesn't have an NP charge either, it can be near impossible to actually get to her NP in a quick manner either. Often Bunyan uses her skills and immediately folds to one or two attacks from an enemy. But while that's fine, she falls behind Nobukatsu and Mata Hari in this regard. No matter what you try to do, she'll end up outperformed by someone else in her same rarity, and that makes her play a lot worse than you'd think.

Jason: Jason is in a really awkward spot, because while he does fulfill a completely unique budget niche, being an AoE Saber who struggles with but can perform Castoria loops, he falls short in a lot of other ways. The best way to explain it is that if you compare him to Anning, you'll see that his kit is much worse than hers in terms of general play, and it really impacts his performance. His S1 and S2 are good enough but nothing super special, with the highlight being targetable hard survival. His S3 has a very fun gimmick but one that rarely comes up outside of just deliberately forcing it. As it stands right now, Jason is the only payoff for building an Argo related team, and until that changes it will always remain just a gimmick and not a real strategy.

If you remove him from the context of being usable in specific Arts looping set-ups, which may not even be worth it depending on your Servant roster, his general use case is pretty uninspiring. Even the 20 crit stars a turn from his NP feel a bit wasted, as Jason is a pretty bad recipient of those crit stars, and to use his S2 to guarantee an ally gets them means giving up the hard survival of it as well.

Charlotte Corday: Charlotte on the opposite end of Bartholomew is a Servant that struggles to retain relevancy. She's a pretty low C, and is largely helped by having a niche that other Arts Assassins do not have: the ability to reliably, and repeatedly, punish Evasion. Due to having both pierce invul on her S2 and Evasion removal on her NP, she's a fairly decent DPS against Riders who like to use Evasion skills, which is a valuable niche as hard survival skills are often used as predictable times. Her ability to insta-kill can also be situationally useful since with her S1 buff she can reliably kill high HP bronze enemies.

But, her niche is pretty small and her poor damage and generation stats leave a lot to be desired compared to 100-Face Hassan, her most direct competition. 100-Face will generally outperform her in most situations, but Corday's ability to ignore evasion and even invul temporarily is what separates the two. It is also worth noting that 100-Face often doesn't use her hard survival skill for survival, as it comes with a needed Arts performance buff, so in some situations Corday can survive against bosses that 100-Face might struggle again. But these upsides aren't big enough to make Corday that good.

Asterios: Alright this is the one that no one wants to hear, so let's pretty quickly get it over with. Asterios has one pretty massive niche that's relatively unheard of even to this day: his NP inflicts a massive amount of Attack down, so much so that it sometimes can even functionally serve as a hard survival option. This, along with the Berserker trait of generating 5% NP for each hit they take, means that Asterios had a powerful niche against boss enemies with multi-hit AoE attacks and a lack of buffs.

The issue is that they do not make those bosses anymore. The last boss that could be feasibly cheesed in this way was Demeter, and that cheese was NOT free and is often liable to getting completely fucked with by random crits, and was the first boss is a really long time that could be cheesed that way. If Asterios cannot cheese bosses, all the problems with him start to manifest immediately: his kit is generally weak and unsynergistic. As a Buster DPS he's outclassed by other budget options such as Caligula and Lu Bu, and he lacks hard survival that other Berserkers like Darius have. He doesn't have any way to reliably get to his NP, which is a massive liability in his BBBAQ card set. His class means that even having a respectable 40% Defense buff doesn't stop him from being really frail and fragile.

It's not impossible to make Asterios do some work. A well-timed NP can make a fight a little bit easier. But Asterios has suffered from the fact that Lasengle was aware of what he could do in December of 2016 when Babylonia first dropped, and have largely stopped making content where Asterios can perform well. You'll get most of your use out of him in the very beginning of available content, and then find he doesn't really do much past that. The game has just progressed a bit too far for Asterios to still be good.

The addition of punctuation and the sudden lack of emoji seemed almost like a warning flare that Gojo’s patience was waning. But you hardly knew the man and really, what did you care? A favor for a favor was what he offered. You didn’t owe him anything.

I have other options too.

His text continued and for a moment you frowned, wondering if his intention was to have that sound like a threat. You felt heat rising in your throat— he didn’t want to play that game.

So no pressure. Genuinely.

Oh. Good. That was better. You felt the tension uncoil as fast as it had grown.

This was probably the most you had ever spoken to Gojo, despite having seen him on and off from a distance for the better half of your life. He was hard to miss. Every event at the main house would have him and his immediate family at the forefront. No one ever stopped talking about Gojo Satoru and his accomplishments and his strength and his skill as a sorcerer.

It was nauseating, having to pretend to nod and smile like it was all some great blessing just to orbit near him. It was bad enough he read like a sun to your abilities, as if he needed to be made to think he was anymore of the center of the universe.

Your palm itched. The desire to tap back a response now, a firm denial, very strong. But not stronger than your excitement at the possibility of being a first grade sorcerer. It was everything you had wanted. Prestige, recognition, tougher missions and the pay and rewards that came with them.

You were no weakling. Sure the telemetry technique took you out of commission, but it was hardly your greatest feat. You had finally been able to manifest the cursed technique lapse, blue. Granted, it was a one off and exhausted you so fully afterwards that you nearly fainted on the spot… but your tolerance was getting better. The precision of your manipulation of your cursed energy would never be on par with Gojo, but you could, some day, maybe even manage to shoot the technique off twice.

Reversal Red was next to impossible. And Hollow Technique? Truly impossible. The Six Eyes was needed to even attempt it. Most of your practice had been devoted to perfecting your long distance teleportation skills, fine tuning your telemetry technique and working on establishing your domain. That one was easier. The Unlimited Void crushed your opponent beneath an overload of sensory information, information you could easily channel and tap into with your own unique skills as a Limitless user.

But like all things, you were only second best. And barely. It was a joke. Comparing yourself to Gojo. He was on a level you could never achieve— unless.

You grabbed your phone, hastily dialing the new number and wincing at the loud, cheerful greeting from the other line.

“Good morning, moon of my soul, tenderest heart, darling—!“

“I haven’t even said yes yet, you monster.”

“Ah! A name of my very own? Be still my trembling heart!”

“I wish to make an amendment to the agreement.”

There was a lengthy pause. You could practically hear the slow spread of that sly smile. Content as the cat who caught the canary.

He knew he was about to win.

“Let’s hear it.”

“If you are putting my name forward for first grade, that means you have someone else in mind to be the second backer and someone in mind for me to shadow on missions and train with, yeah?

“I do.” Gojo said, his tone surprisingly serious.

“Have them put my name forward instead. I want to shadow you.”

Gojo laughed, a short mirthless thing, “What makes you think I have the time?”

“You have enough time to play pretend, I’d think any fiancé would leap at the chance to be with his lovely wife-to-be and keep her safe.”

Gojo hummed.

“Why me?”

This was an oddly familiar conversation.

“Purely selfish reasons. You are the best Limitless user. I am a Limitless user. I want you to teach me.”

“You aren’t on my level.” He said, no malice in his words, just simple facts.

“Then teach me what I can handle.”

There was another pause.

“I’m not gonna go easy on you just because you’re my girl.”

The bare utterance of the endearment sent a shiver up your arms and not an entirely pleasant one either. His girl. God, how would you even begin to explain this fake engagement to your parents? Who knew the depth of your jealousy and bitterness over Gojo since you were— what? Five? Younger?

“Since I am just your ‘pretend’ girl, I wouldn’t expect anything less.”

“Your funeral, babe.” Gojo said, “But I’m glad we resolved this early! Because we are having dinner. Reservations are made, I’ll pick you up at seven. Wear something pretty!”

Your words caught in your throat, stuttering across your tongue and unable to force out before the line cut off and he was gone.

You pressed the edge of your phone to your temple, already feeling a headache coming on. Something pretty? Shit.

You sighed and set aside your phone to call down to the front desk. Sure enough, a few minutes later someone brought up a large white box, tied with a grey-blue ribbon. You set the package on the small counter in your room’s kitchen and opened the lid, brushing aside soft tissue paper.

The dress was ridiculously soft, made of fine, nearly translucent layers of chiffon. It was a lovely color, the sight making you suddenly think of the feeling in the air before a thunderstorm, the smell of rain. The ribbon matched.

You looked for a price tag and found none, but folded away at the bottom of the box was a hand written receipt. You paled at the figure displayed on it.

-Gojo, I can’t possibly accept this.

Don’t be stupid. No one would believe I was serious about a woman unless I was positively spoiling her rotten. s’not like it broke the bank!

You sipped your coffee, keeping the mug well away from the dress. It was certainly nicer than anything you had ever owned in— well. Ever. It was hard to argue that there were clearly going to be some additional perks to this arrangement you hadn’t previously thought of.

The ease in which that man showered you so soon with endearments was nauseating. Had he ever even had a girlfriend before? Or just those usual moon-eyed women who fawned and petted him?

And now everyone was gonna think you were one of those girls. You drank your coffee faster, relishing in the way it burned down your throat and overpowered the bad taste in your mouth.

“First-grade… first-grade. Remember the first-grade.”

And training. You’d squeeze every possible benefit from this arrangement out that you could. Sorcerers worked in teams, but at the end of the day, it was every man and woman for themselves.

Let them think what they want when you were seen tonight. You would come out on top.

The day passed quickly and you found yourself standing in front of the hotel mirror, twisting back and forth to get a feel for the movement of the dress— and half practicing staying upright in the heels that had arrived not even a moment later.

They were high enough to be appealing, but low enough to keep you from falling over on your face. Gojo had texted an explanation that he figured you were out of practice in wearing anything other than sneakers and combat boots and to consider them training wheels.

You’d wanted, once again, to punch him in the face.

The kind of girl he liked was a stilettos kinda girl, you guessed, huffing to yourself as you sat down and twirled one of your ankles, stretching the muscle. Even the low heels were not entirely comfortable, but you’d manage.

Checking your makeup one last time, you picked up your own worn purse and slung it over your shoulder. Women who wore these kind of dresses and came in on the arm’s of other men and women like Gojo never had anything more than the smallest clutch— but you weren’t those women.

You made your way down to the lobby and were surprised to find a chauffeur waiting outside with a very very sleek European car of some kind. You weren’t great about those kinds of things, only noting the seats were made with soft black leather and there was even a divider built in like in a limo to give the passengers privacy.

The chauffeur ushered you into the empty car and you sat back with a sigh as silently he delivered you to the next destination. You had, in some small place, hoped Gojo would already be present.

Why he felt the need for such spectacle was beyond you, but maybe this was what was expected of a clan family son when he courted a young woman. It felt— weird. Nice, but weird. The drive was not overly long, the car coming to stop.

You knew this restaurant. Some fancy French-Japanese fusion place that charged a hundred dollars for a single plate with a broiled pear covered in wasabi or some weird shit. Already you felt your stomach churning with anxiety and encroaching regret.

This was gonna suck.

This was gonna suck so bad.

The chauffeur opened the door and you barely managed not to wobble on the pavement. Feeling stilted and exposed as other guests and couples regarded you with open curiosity and veiled judgment.

Clearly they were used to seeing the same people come and go from this restaurant and you were not one of them.

You clutched your bag tighter to your arm, hand reaching inside instinctively to find your phone and text Gojo you were out. This was over. Find someone else— when your surname was shouted from the door.

All eyes turned as if in sync to Gojo, wearing simple trousers and a white shirt tucked in. He didn’t even have a tie or a jacket, his dark glasses obscuring his eyes even as he looked right at you.

A few people tsked their disapproval, but they may as well have been ghosts for all the attention Gojo paid them. When you didn’t immediately make your way over to him, Gojo shoved his hands into his pockets and strode over to meet you.

He grinned, the lowering of his chin and the slow rise back up an obvious indicator he was sizing you up and didn’t care if you knew.

He whistled.

“Ow, ow!”

“Shut it— you know this dress could cover my rent for half a year?! And these shoes! I could buy a used car with this ensemble.”

“You even drive?”

“Not the point.”

He laughed again, loud and careless.

“Figured since you were dawdling you might need an arm to lean on.” Gojo said, offering your his elbow without removing his hands from his pockets, “Or perhaps…”

He feigned a gasp, “Are you feeling shy?”

“I’m leaving.” you deadpanned, managing half a turn before his hand was on your waist, turning you back. He took your hand, the feeling of his palm on your side still burned into your skin as he hooked your arm in his own.

You allowed it, leaning on him only a little. He looked pleased, smugly so, as he led you inside and to a table that was already set for two.

There was a wine glass sitting by your own plate. The one by Gojo’s was turned upside down and set to the side… a can of soda sitting, bright and out of place, in its spot.

“… where did you even get that.”

“Vending machine.” Gojo said simply and even kicked your chair out a little for you to take a seat. How flattering.

“Wine is for you, if you want it. Figured it might help take the edge off.”

You rolled your eyes, not bothering to wait for the server to return and simply tipping the bottle of red into your own glass.

“What about you?”

“I don’t drink.” He said, cracking the tab on his soda with a loud pop. Several eyes filtered your way, whispers behind hands and napkins as Gojo all but drained the can in one gulp.

“So— ground rules?” you said, unfolding a cloth napkin and settling it in a half folded triangle across your lap the way you saw other women doing.

“Straight in, huh? Alright. Terms.” Gojo lifted one finger, “As already discussed, you and I will be ‘courting’— dating. Whatever the fuck. I’ll take care of arranging the dates, you show up, act sufficiently smitten and in about a year give or take, we break up.”

Gojo lifted a second finger, “Two. In exchange, I have two first grade sorcerers who will back your promotion. And, as requested—“ Gojo’s voice dropped a fraction, almost grumpily, “—you’ll come with me on my missions for your first semi-grade probation.”

“Now ground rules. At any point either of us wants out, it’s done. No questions asked. But don’t think that means you get to ditch and just keep that first grade appointment. I’ll make sure you end up right back at a grade two.”

You sipped your wine, giving your mouth something to do than form some very choice words at that moment. Gojo noticed, his smile almost a snarl, but the expression quickly vanished. You had a funny feeling trying to hoodwink or swindle him would end very poorly for anyone.

“And when you develop feelings for me—“

“If.” You amended quickly, but Gojo ignored you.

“—when you develop feelings for me. You have to tell me and again, the engagement is over. You can keep your rank. No harm no foul. I can hardly blame you for falling for me.” Gojo said with a wistful sigh. You were grateful for the arrival of the first course, forcing you both to fall silent for a moment until they departed.

You had no idea what was on the plate. Some kind of salad? It was hardly a mouthful. Gojo didn’t even touch his silverware and feeling less than impressed with the cuisine, you didn’t either.

You drank your wine.

“Barring sickness or injury you are required to appear for every date I set. Including the ones where you have to meet other members of the main family.”

You frowned, but didn’t object.

“Wait— what about you?”

“What about me?”

“Is the engagement off when you develop feelings for me?” You said lightly, trying to play off your smile as wistful.

Gojo scoffed, his reaction almost enough to hurt your feelings… just a little bit.

“Non-issue. I don’t do feelings.”

“God, you sound like a fuck boy.” The words came out before you could stop yourself, the last syllable off your tongue right at the moment the server had returned to reclaim your plates. An eyebrow was raised and you hid your face down with a flustered cough.

By the time you looked back up, you got the joy of seeing Gojo staring at you from over his glasses, a broad and deeply amused grin on his face.

“Not non-issue. If I get the feelings rule you get the feelings rule. End discussion.”

Gojo shrugged, again not touching the newest course which was, to your extreme annoyance, some kind of grilled pear.

“You should slow down.” He warned in a sing song voice as you poured another glass.

“I’m not a baby— okay. So we got terms, we got ground rules. Anything else?”

“You can’t refuse my gifts.”

Your eyes narrowed sharply and he simply smiled and hummed with a shrug.

“It’s for appearances! Oh. Speaking of appearances—“ Gojo sat up, fishing something from his back pocket and sitting it on the table. You stared at the simple black box, fearing a vein might burst in your forehead at any moment.

“What is that.” You stated more than asked.

“Open it.” Gojo said, his voice light and encouraging as he nudged the box closer, “Come on, open it. Open it. You know you wanna, sweetie, light of my life, fire of my lo—“

You snatched the box up if only to stop him from finishing that sentence.

You swallowed hard, the sounds of the room fading out as you flipped open the box and found, sitting upon a small satin pillow— a… key?

You lifted it from the box, noting it even had a little custom keychain made to look like a white cat with a tiny blindfold.

“It’s to my apartment!” Gojo announced with a giddy laugh, clasping his hands together in a way that was entirely un-adult like.

“… I have my own place. Thank you.”

“In Kyoto. This is here, in Tokyo. Where you will need to stay for this all to work, remember?”

“Where will you stay?” You asked dryly, vaguely hoping his answer would be something other than what it was no doubt going to be.

“Very funny. You’ll have your own room—if you want it.”

“Why—“ your voice nearly broke and you had to take a moment to clear it, “Why uh— why wouldn’t I be wanting my own room?”

“Feelings are off limits, naturally. But if you want to take me up again on that offer from back in the day…”

The surge of cursed energy that rippled off of you was so strong Gojo nearly toppled backwards, his laugh gaining a somewhat nervous lift to it if only for just a moment.

“I’ll have my own room. My own locked room.” You bit out, feeling your face flushing hot and hating every second Gojo seemed to be enjoying your utter mortification, “Unless that is a problem.”

“Nope. Not at all. Probably for the best ultimately, I’ve been told I have a bad habit of dickmatizing folks.”

“… I’m sorry, you what.”

“Dickmatizing! Ya know. Like hypnotizing but with—“

“I got it!” You groaned, pressing your face into your hand. When did it get so damn hot in here? You snatched up your wine glass and finished off the contents, feeling even hotter.

“Is that all?”

“Unless anything comes to your mind, then yep.” Gojo finished, ignoring yet another course. You were almost tempted. The dish was some kind of meat, but the sauce drenched over it smelt sharply of something bitter and sour at the same time. You stomach recoiled at the thought and yet rumbled in protest to its growing hunger.

“So what do you think?”

“You’re disgusting?” you said flatly.

“I meant about the deal.”

You glowered openly at him. It was going to take a lot of practice to turn that deprecating expression you felt naturally pull unto your face at his sight into something loving and tender… but for first-grade ranking? For lessons on your Limitless? Fuck. Fuck you’d do it.

You poured the remainder of the bottle into your glass and polished it off in one shot.

“I accept.”

Gojo clapped his hands together, “Excellent! Now let’s get the hell out of here.”

“Huh?” You barely managed to get the questioning sound out before Gojo was up and out of his chair. You scrambled up, head rushing with the wine and the weirdness of this entire conversation. By the time you managed to catch up with him, he snaked out his arm and wrapped it around your waist, pulling you flush and warm against his side.

You about threw him across the room, but your attempts at a grapple were thwarted by the sudden thrumming of the familiar Neutral Limitless ability, stalling your moments to such a small speed you felt suddenly frozen.

The impulse to toss him passed and instead you let him escort you outside where the car was still waiting.

“Take us to the place, ya know the one.” Gojo said to the driver and in a surprising show of gallantry, actually held the door open for you to get in first.

“And open the back window. If she throws up, I’d rather it be on the pavement.”

You elbowed him in the chest— accidentally of course.

The car drive was a bit longer, taking you away from the glitz and glamor of this side of Tokyo and to what looked arguably as one of the most hole-in-the-wall noodle joints you had ever seen. The street kitchen was small, the counter open outside with a few bar stools. The smells of teriyaki and spices and cooking oils were heavy in the air and made your mouth water.

Gojo perched on one of the stools and you came to sit alongside him, watching as he ripped open a set of chopsticks and rubbed the splinters off.

He ordered quickly—yakisoba and yakitori. Along with several packages of mochi they kept behind the counter in the same kinda plastic bags you’d find at a convenience store.

Gojo had been right— you should have slowed down. The world had a light haze to it… a slight tilting. His hand on your back felt massive and overly warm as he guided you back to sitting straight.

“Eat, ya lush.” He ordered, piling noodles and chicken unto a smaller empty plate for you from his own, “C’mon.”

Gojo popped one of the mochi bags and dumped the sticky sweet confection right on top of your yakisoba. You grimaced, picking the sweet off and trying to wipe some of the sauce from it before you took a generous bite.

The food was greasy and delicious and abundant and cheap and your mouth was in heaven. Even having not used your Limitless since yesterday, every taste still felt heightened. Maybe it was the way your cursed powers tried to compensate from the wine, but everything somehow was more delicious.

You attempted to snag another piece of yakitori from Gojo’s plate, only to have your chopsticks blocked with a clack.

“Ah ah ah— hands off.”

“What’s yours is mine, right?” You chided, only to be dodged again in a movement faster than your eyes could perceive. Did he just use his Limitless to counter you? Feeling emboldened, you activated your own, the faint pulse of the energy so close together giving you the sort of deflecting feeling one experiences when holding two sides of the same magnet near together.

Repelling, shifting. Trying to shove the energy into a way that the two forces would collide rather than deflect.

You were concentrating fully. The minuscule movements invisible to even your eyes, but the feeling was there. A sort of blindsight where you didn’t need the Six Eyes to tell you what was happening— but it would have definitely helped. You flicked a glance up and lost your control, your chopsticks shooting away and nearly cracking one in two.

Gojo chuckled. It was the expression on his face that had distracted you. His eyelids were half dropped, his smile soft as he readied himself to deflect you again. Your energy was no match for his… but it matched. It was made of the same stuff. Controlled the same way. He could see, with the sharp clarity of his Six Eyes, every tiny precise movement you made with your cursed energy. A mirror of his own abilities in miniature.

He was playing with you. And all the sudden you felt as if a small knot in your chest had shaken free, the coil coming undone.

Was there anyone else on this Earth you could do such a thing with?

Feeling strange and suddenly shy, you drew your energy back in and refocused on eating from your own plate, grumbling at your loss.

A second later, Gojo’s chopsticks moved over your plate, dropping another helping of noodles in.

A small concession. A victory in it's own right, even if it had not won the yakitori.

“Sober up, will ya? But don’t eat too fast. I’m not cleaning up vomit, no way, no how.”

“You’re always so vulgar.” you murmured, speaking around a mouthful of noodles and mochi. Gojo turned and stuck his tongue out at you. A confirmation or a reprisal, you couldn’t be sure.

But regardless, it did something to you he had never managed to do before.

It made you laugh.

Epic 7 Balance Adjustment Patch for 08.07.21

So, we got a bunch of buffs for a few characters. Have to say, mixed feelings about these:

ML Ken

The ML Ken buff is one I really wanted but it is one that, on paper at least, doesn't fix his problems. His current issues are that for one, there are a lot of strong, meta units who do not trigger counters, like Landy and Spec Tene. They can hit him with no fear and kill him. Then there is LQC, where her S3 is guaranteed to burst down all but the most tanky of ML Kens. And then, lastly, there are a ton of debuffers, with the addendum that there are also a lot of cleansers atm, so the last point is the least troublesome.

What really screws over ML Ken is that these problems have different solutions regarding his gear. You can build him with lots of def and hp, to make him super tanky that he can survive a hit or two, but then you run the risk of not doing much damage. Similarly, if you go for high ER, which his buff kinda leans towards and which makes that slightly easier, you can resist debuffs better but also at the cost of the other defense and offensive stats.

Now, with his buffs, he wants no crit chance at all and can make do with slightly less ER on his gear. That is good, I guess. The CR push is weird because ML Ken is one of the few units who wants to be as slow as possible, so he can maintain his buffs longer since he doesn't really want to attack. ML Ken wants to be hit and then counter. So, a CR push may make him fire off his slightly improved S3 faster, but that also means he is getting rid of his buffs faster and once his S3 is on cooldown, that CR push becomes an outright liability.

Similarly, a 30% increase to his ER is not harmful or anything but it is also not really that helpful? Sure, it makes it a bit easier to reach a higher ER stat but if go for the higher HP and DEF route, while also trying to maintain some ATK and crit DMG, the 30 % ER might as well be nothing because serious debuffers have over 100% effectiveness, some over 200%.

A buff I would have liked to see would be like, either give him lifesteal in his s2 or s1, so that one can switch his artifact. Or he gives himself a def buff and/or there is DMG reduction. I guess giving him an ability that ignores the anti-counter abilities would be a bit lame.

He basically needs to be harder to kill, or he needs a way to matter in the current meta where counters are countered.

Hmm, maybe they could have given him immortality, so that he survives one round, making him a real problem on the field. Not too happy with this but maybe it turns out better than expected.

Operator Sigret

Her buff is just straight up great and that is, I guess, the problem. She was buffed even though she really, really didn't need the buff. I do admit, if I had her, I would have less of a problem with this, lol.

She went from good to even better.

Holiday Yufine

Now, she has some interesting buffs. The increased burn chances on her S1 are neat enough, but then she gets a permanent evasion of 20% which remains no matter what, but which is increased to 70% at full health is excellent. She still needs a shield at the start to maintain her perfect health and with that the evasion, but it is easier to endure the initial attacks now and stay in the game for longer. Her Soulburn for her S3 is also appreciated, which means she can cleanse and CR push her team more. Great buffs, making her stronger and more useful for the roles she is supposed to play.

Violet

Violet has gotten a bit of a rework there, and I am kinda digging it, at least on paper. His S1 gives him now a CR-push, which is pretty good for him with his changes. His S2 cleanses two of his own debuffs, heals him, grants him an extra turn, and now he gains a 15% crit chance and crit dmg buff which can't be dispelled for 3 turns (in effect two with his extra turn mechanic). Instead, the 35 % evade has been removed from his S2 and instead taped onto his s3. Now, when his S3 is available he has the 35% evasion where after he evades, he counterattacks with his S1.

This seems like a really good fix for his general usefulness. Now his S2 can actuallly be molad, he is slightly easier to built with the reduced crit chance and crit dmg requirements, his counters give him a speed push. I dunno how viable this makes him for the current meta, especially with units like carrot and Spec Tene running around but he is definitely improved. I saw some people say that this makes him worse on arena and GW defense because the Ai will use his S3 at first opportunity, when he won't have the focus necessary to reset his S3 thus making his evasion evaporate but the thing is, Violet has been awful on defense for a while now. At least this way, he will be starting with evasion, which was his greatest drawback, next to being a single target unit.

Earlier, he needed to take a turn to activate his evasion, so it was rather easy to cleave a violet defenses because he only had the evasion from dreamblade or talisman. Now, that will be harder.

This may not be enough to make him that strong in the current meta but at least he is an option now. Agains the right teams, especially in RTA, he can be wheeled out and do some mayhem.

Elena

Elena got a 5% additional dmg reduction and receives a 20% CR push in her S2. This is pretty good. My Elena is speedy and high ER so she can cut into enemy turns and fire of her team invincibility, which is why i was running her with Magahara. Still gonna do that, so instead of 30% CR push, now she will be getting 50%. That means I can give her gear which is slightlly slower but has more ER so she will have a higher chance to resist all the debuffs.

Rather happy with this one.

Cidd

I don't use Cidd, not much interaction with him outside of a handful of times where I met him in pvp where he dismantled my team piece by piece. This buff seems to make him stronger but can't really say what it will mean for building him.

Mercenary Helga

Her buffs seem alright, but I don't know if that means she is inherently more useful now. Maybe she will be better for one of the one shot comps or things like expedition. More def break is always useful and while all earth heroes are almost nonexistant in pvp, hunts, expedition and that new game mode where I am not sure when exactly it comes, she should be useful there.

And with regards to the Artifacts, well, Doctor's Bag still looks awful. It is better than previous where it seemed to me that it was unusable, with almost every soul weaver artifact being better than it in almost every scenario, but once every 3 turns just means that at most it will be used twice on a particularly fast soul weaver. Maybe I am not seeing the utility, though.

As to Shepherd of the Hollow, it is on my Kayron because my other heroes are using the better artifacts and I don't expect that to change. Still, seems to be better than before but dunno about making that artifact particularly good. Not a lot of thieves who benefit from having lower health outside of Kayron and even on Kayron, Dust Devil is still better.

So, some interesting buffs but a bit disappointed. Had hoped for more. Maybe next time we get something for chars like Sez and Luna. And definitely something better for ML Ken.

so dabi (touya) is a previous figure skater

he’s a figure skating prodigy 

enji was a pro hockey player (id say figure skating but this man was BUILT like a brick shithouse idk man) has a lot of championships under his belt but doesnt even begin to touch the legacy of his one sided rival yagi toshinori

him and rei meet and marry at a young age. she like.. actually liked him then?? shit was kinda okay but things kinda.... got bad quick. the abuse etc was ... yeah. she ends up having dabi and fuyumi (they’re twins babeyy) at a young age too and kinda doesnt feel like she can get out of her horrible marriage 

we wont dwell too much on the bad part of all of this though. anyway rei was a figure skater

p well known and known for her fucking GRACE god she moved so well on the ice.

she was so beautiful and spoke through her movements and enji loved that... and so as a hockey player and with a (now previous) figure skater wife he was like aight my kids WILL take up an ice sport and be the FUCKING BEST

dabi isnt made for hockey. enji tries to get him into it but it’s... nah... fuyumi isnt the best with figure skating. she’s good!! and her and dabi do some pair skating when they’re younger but it’s.. hm. dabi is the one with the clear talent here. (fuyumi is a beast on the ice when it comes to hockey though. will dominate. but she kinda... didnt really continue with it)

enji isnt PLEASED that his son isnt gunna be a hockey player but he still values figure skating and will fucking make sure he’s the BEST at it. and so the brutal training starts. he gets some good coaches and also takes up the coaching mantle 

the thing is.. rei was amazing as a skater but her body just... wasnt really made for all of that??? and dabi unfortunately kinda inherited that. his body hates the impacts and such. he’s amazing at figure skating. he has a grace similar to his mothers but there’s something more fierce to him. 

and honestly !!! he gets far!!

also natsuo comes around. he’s a bit too clumsy for either sport and resents the fact that him and fuyumi are neglected by their father. he also loves touya and gets so pissed seeing his brother so hurt

and shouto is born and this kid was made to be on the ice. he’s skating from the moment he can fucking stand on his own.

obvs enji’s attention is split but it’s mainly on touya who is winning championships and GOING places but it’s still not good enough

anyway idk how far he goes?? but it’s the biggest competition yet and on ice mid routine he lands wrong

one thing leads to the next and he’s pretty much medically retired from a young age. he can skate. he can still kinda preform but he cant do what he used to at ALL and he cant keep up with the brutal pace enji sets. there’s a lot of trying to push him still and it’s just.. not happening

for all it’s worth dabi is kinda glad he isnt doing it anymore. but he fears for his babies brother. shouto is a natural and while yes being a professional athlete of any sort is brutal on your body, his body is a lot more capable

but like touya before, shouto is pushed to his absolute limits. bleeding and injuries and puking his guts out from being pushed too far

there’s a lotta resentment but he still pushes through w skating. 

(side note but there DEF is some todomido/tododeku w hockey player izuku who ends up being coached by THE yagi toshinori and who helps shouto out w making shit his own)

anyway so in the end dabi ends up working at a rink tho lol

it’s p much owned by shigarai and run by the lov (who in this au end up making their own little ragtag unofficial local hockey team p much and play games against other teams like them)

despite his father’s whole career, dabi does enjoy playing hockey with these dipshits

but yeah he enjoys his time working at the rink, fucking around and sleeping in random places and sometimes running the zamboni

he’s scouted or whatever for figure skating at a very young age and his mom is happy to take the heavy scholarships and happy to sign him over to skate for these ppl and have them push him to be The Best

and this kid is FAST. he’s fast and is insane with his jumps and stg it almost looks like he’s FLYING (which gets him the nickname hawks)

the coaches are brutal and shit sucks and a lot of the time it kinda sucks the life out of the sport but he still enjoys it

he has a love for outfits that legit have flare to them (also im thinking of johnny weir’s one outfit w the feathers but yknow instead of white they are RED) and while he does do routines to boring ass music he mainly likes doing shit different (also dabi was p much forced the whole time to do shit to that boring ass music but on his own he’d use his own music taste to skate to)

and he’s good!! he GOES places. he’s like makes it to the olympics at a young age and is one of THE youngest gold medalists for figure skating

im sure somewhere along the line him and dabi DID meet. it was at some competition and hawks was VIBRATING bc there’s ENJI and he wants and autograph and oH GOD IS THAT HIS SON??? he’s HOT. (and at this time dabi still had his red hair and like no piercings and what little ones he had they were out but this dumbass will not recognize him later on)

but god he needs to chill TF out or he will fuck up in the competition

Brief Thoughts on upcoming Granblue Reworks

Here is the preliminary list of changes

Anthuria (Fire)

JUST LAST WEEK I COMPLAINED ABOUT HER NOT HAVING HARP PROFICIENCY AND THEY’RE GIVING IT TO HER! AS FORETOLD. She will now dodge much more reliably, but her red dance no longer grants hype when dodging, only extending any current hype stacks as well as granting a stacking ATK buff. But instead her 3rd skill gives her Instant Charge as well as a party wide Uplifted, Shield and Hype buff. I suspect she’ll go really REALLY well in a Rising Force/Aoidos comp.

Overall assessment: Good update, her kit does roughly the same thing, but should function way more smoothly. Plus the way they changed the kit should make her viable for Full Auto comps!

Percival (Fire)

I love this guy, but I don’t have too much to say about him. His Light Unit that came out yesterday was foreshadowing for the changes they were gonna do it seems. He now gains 20% charge on Charge Attack instead of his next nuke hitting twice, which is a shame since I was under the impressing that was supposed to be a signature thing for the Knights. In exchange they’ve buffed the self heal on his first skill and had it give him a Fire Crest. I like the change to his Petrify debuff so it includes a delay, bc it sucks when the boss is at full diamonds and petrify wont do shit to save you. I am not sure how his crest effect on his 3rd skill will play out, but I suspect Percy will hit even harder than before in longer fights thanks to it. Thats always been his job, so him being able to do it better should be a good thing.

I don’t like their change to Kingly Aura, since I liked how you could double up on it and Shiva’s passive. But it makes sense to change it, since you kinda feel locked into bringing Shiva alongside Percy if you were bringing him.

Overall assessment: Big shrug. Percy had fallen out of the meta for a while and I dont know if this will do that much for him. But the change to his Petrify is nice and he’ll likely outdamage his old self thanks to his reworked 3rd skill.

Narmaya (Summer)

I have not used her before the rework, but since they’re making her a proper dodgememe character I likely will now.

Aglovale

I don’t have him, so can’t say much. But it looks like they are just making him a slightly more defensive Percy.

Threo Sarasa

Looks interesting, she was a solid unit before the rework, and the rework just looks like its making what she does more clear and how she does it less clunky. I particularly like the change to her first skill, since I really didn’t like how the old one work. She should work even better with a Hollowsky Axe now with her new passive.

Overall assessment: You kept what her core appeal is in her kit, and made the rest of her kit work better and do more. Nice tune up!

Valentine’s Medusa

I dont have her so won’t make a judgment.

Gawain

He no longer half-asses two things, but whole-asses them both. Plus the addition of spear proficiency will make me consider him for spearmemes.

Carmelina

It looks like she does things now! Her new support skill activates my kengo senses.

De La Fille (Light)

This, along with her upcoming uncap, means she might just see some use at some point ever!

Seruel

His old 1st skill is now an autoactivating passive, which is a good call, since that’s how its used already. Good change. His new first skill is another nuke, but this time with ATKdebuffs.This along with his passive changing from a generic “slight chance of Dodge-and-Counter “ that didn’t go with his kit to a multiattack buff to the whole team while Seruel isn’t debuffed seems like a good change. Since the whole point of bringing Seruel is that you dont wanna be debuffed.

Overall assessment: Seruel was a solid but boring unit. I don’t know how much this will help in the fun department, but it does make him even more solid in my eyes.

Vira (Dark SSR)

Her buffs/debuffs on her first skill are now of the stackable kind, so they’ll play nicer with other buff/debuff sources. Making her usable in more comps. Her 3rd skill is getting a higher healing cap AND debuffs light AND dark ATK/DEF, giving her even more debuffing power. But the most interesting change I see is a 1-turn cut to her cooldowns on charge attack. 

Olivia

Her nukes just do more, and her 3rd skill now gives a Shield, Veil, Damage Cap up and Echoes on top of what it already did, but ends upon her taking damage. I have some ideas for how to use this.

We were speculating in the server that she’d get the Dark Disciple passive and she did get SOMETHING like that, but not quite. So yay for partial correctness?

Weapon Specialty changes

All of the “dancer” type units are getting Harp proficiency, which is about time. This prompted me to make a Ultima Harp for Aoidos and Wind usage.

Yuel’s change from sword to harp prof is unusual, but nice. I’d rather have less sword prof allies if it means more variation.

I love this new team! I was really in need of a team swap so Im glad it happened. Im gonna be trusting caitlin 100% and with the way she plays i do feel like its reciprocal, I feel good with Pat also. Max and I obviously have beef but if we do go to team meeting and timmy doesnt have immunity I do feel that we will all be on the same page. Obviously Caitlin, Max, Pat, and I all know each other from a separate ORG.

on my new team i def think this comp has really separated things bc there's a group of us (me, aj, justin) who worked on the challenge and some people who didn't.... those being alex and david. alex and david stated reasons why but im pms they said they were going out and seeing movies, going to brunchs, etc........ so idk how i feel about that. either way makes me feel a little comfy rn bc aj, justin, and I have formed an alliance which is good. 

My storyline this episode is fantastic. Starting off the swap I was nervous bc I was the only one from my original team but then they just all let me go to the arena when I said I would do it. The second I got to the arena and we found out the challenge everyone there said they wanted me to win the gold medal. I truly don’t know how that happened but I was rolling with it. My thought was wow this is good but can I trust that, especially after the previous arena where I was lied to. The answer was yes, I could trust those people and they stuck to their word and I won. I had to lie to Joey again but I want Austin to come back into the game. Austin ended up giving me 2 rings when I asked for some of his rings so now I’m up to 5 which is kinda hot tbh. The gold naturally gave us an advantage in the challenge that in the end we didn’t even need because we won anyways…but I guess we did need it since if another team had it we would’ve lost since all the scores were so close. But going into the video, I tend to sit out of this challenge since it brings me such high anxiety, so this time actually doing it and then being on the winning team is amazing and I feel accomplished and I just let myself be okay with looking dumb. Like i know it sounds stupid but that was a big accomplishment for me and I feel like I’m actually doing okay in this game. I need to talk to people more on this team but now I have more time for that and I had already started a bit. No matter what happens, I feel happy.

Well we may have swapped teams, keeping me from dropping down to a team of two, but it's not keeping me away from the team meeting. We're still going and I'm in trouble. David and I didn't contribute to the challenge, so it's our necks on the line. I'd like to have to kept David around a little longer, but tonight's vote is all self-preservation. Cutting him gives me a better chance to stick around. But it does worry me about what happens if we lose again. I'd rather Justin go home today, but that's the name of the game I guess. I just have to survive tonight. I did volunteer for the Arena because I wanted to give myself a shot at the gold medal in case we lost again. But Andry came right in behind me and I was like well I'd like to go if y'all are up for it. And how am I supposed to get them to let me go over Andry when he participated in the challenge. Plus, if we do lose again, Andry is my only shot at survival at another team meeting, so I can't piss him off. Prayer circle tonight, friends.

It looks like it’s between Alex and myself and I feel like it’ll be me. My heart hasn’t been in this game as much as I wanted it to be, and life has just gotten super busy. I’ve been trying to stay in there but I didn’t realise how busy my life would get, so if I do end up being the one voted out, I’m totally fine with that. Of course, if I do stay, I will try and win this game. I would also like to preface this that I advised Alex to choose someone from my OG Dwen tribe but he picked … I forgot, and it looks like it’s biting both of us in the ass 😭 if he ends up being the one voted out, it’s on him 🤷🏾‍♂️

(Another late confessional) SWAP! So, immediately after we voted out Joey, we all got flung back into the Arena for another Party Time Day. We had the school yard pick for new teams. During that time, when Caitlin's turn came up, she was having a hard time picking, because there were just so many factors. She has a lot of pre-game friends/acquaintances, and her team hadn't voted anyone out yet, so she was trying to think how to keep as many of her people safe as possible. I kinda tried to help ease her decision, but also direct it a little bit to my benefit. She didn't do exactly what I hoped/expected, but it ended up well in the end. When it was just her and Mark on the team, I thought it'd be a nice place to end up, but now there's just too many people there that know each other. It's a death trap (more on that later). Then I thought Jess was gonna pick me, which I really want to play with Jess this game. But she picked Madison, which was super out of the blue, because she doesn't actually know Madison I don't think. But she said she wanted all the women, which is fair. Honestly, after the first few rounds, even though Andry was on Dwen, I wasn't sure I wanted to end up there, because I didn't know anything about David or Alex, or even AJ for that matter. But it might work out. Jess I think told AJ to work with Andry and I. And he has been, so yay. Then I went to the arena. And Timmy was there. And Austin and Joey were there because they'd been voted out. So there were 4 ex-Bings in a 5-person arena. So even though Austin and Joey both knew one of them would be eliminated, we made it happen to where we could get Timmy a Gold Medal, and therefore Immunity at his first team meeting. Because like I said, that new Shuey team is a death trap. 4 of those peeps over there all know each other from hosting (or playing in) a Big Brother org (that Andry and I both played in also... and Jess was in both of our host chats). So basically, a lot of people know that that's a whole-ass group. So honestly, it was a little shortsighted that they all clumped up onto one team, because like Caitlin feared, if they go to a meeting, one of them might have to go. And honestly, I kinda want that. Specifically, I want Pat to go, because for one, he's won a Survivor season, and he's doing well in that Big Brother org... he's just a good player. But also, I have no relationship with him. He's going to prioritize other people over me, most likely, and I don't know if that means they would prioritize him over me in return. And my one true fear is that he's probably the biggest threat to make Andry turn on me. I'm not sure if anyone could truly make that happen, but Pat's the one I think has the highest likelihood. But anyway, back to my time in the arena. Us four Bings pulled together (and apparently even Keaton was in on it) to throw Timmy the win. Because if - big if - Timmy gets through to merge, I would hope he'd come back to Andry and I. So now if new Shuey (NewyShuey? ShueyTwoey?) lose an Immunity Challenge, both Caitlin and Timmy are immune at their fist Meeting - so that only leaves Mark, Max, or Pat to go first. So that's a 1 in 3 chance my Red Alert High Priority Target Pat goes home. It probably won't happen. It'd probably be Max. But I can hope. Anyway, after that we had our stupid, dumb, terrible, no good, very bad challenge, the music video. Andry and I put everything we had into it, as did AJ, and AJ edited the hell out of it. It was a cinematic masterpiece. And we lost. We came in last. Because there was only one judge with any taste. There were two whole judges who did not give us perfect scores, so I can only assume they've been stripped of their rank and banished to the Shadow Realm. And because they didn't help at all, the three of us who actually tried to win banded together and decided to vote out David. There was a lot of subterfuge and obfuscation that went on to make sure no idols were played, and it all worked out. So now David's in the arena, and hopefully Andry can knock him out of the game for good.

First impressions these people are basic players who wont have very big personalities, and not willing to put a lot of effort into this game. Hopefully thats not the case and its just late so no one is really wide awake :) Because I came to play and I hope thats what everyone else came here to do as well 

Okay so my plan basically worked, winning the first reward competition by placing a good score has opened up one of many avenues to come. Ryan, and Zeezo want to work with me (bad choice for them since I will be winning this aka taking them out eventually but oh well)

Him hitting it off really well with this tribe they are all so friendly and welcoming, Ain is my main homegirl at the moment she is the best and jared is a nice friendly face so it should be interesting to see what the coming days are like.

so not 30 minutes in and meowth comes out with the question "what if someones racist" which to me carried an air of accusation it was public and clearly meant for all to see it just gives me a bit of an icky feeling towards meowth

I'm glad that others are getting higher scores than me because i definitely don't want to be presenting as a threat in challenges particularity not the first day so i just am hoping that ill land middle of the pack challenge wise

so this immunity is fun i love puzzles like these even though they are hard tbh im not completly happy about our chances but i hope we can push through and win or the other tribes internet fucks up, either or really

When I wake up and realize I have so much work to do for school but at least I don't have to worry about going to tribal tonight! I aint mad! At least Im not gonna be the Francesca of this season soooooooo..... 

So... ya boy just beat Jared in a word search comp... and beat him... and went to Super Paradise Island... and idk which greek god is on my side, but one them has ya boy's back because he just the sapphire gem... Like no big deal... I didn't expect to be the first voted out and then just somehow came across getting one of the first big advantages of the game... WE ARE ALL FINE GUYS!!!

I have Oakley, who voted me out on Athena: Himalayas and Olivia, who I voted out on Atomic: Isle of Skye on my tribe. And my immediate thought is I want to work with them. Olivia more than Oakley, I don’t have any beef with him from another season but he is sneaky. However my strategy especially at this point in the game is just make lersonal connections and pretend to have the strategic knowledge of a goldfish. Here’s hoping it works.

So far I’ve talked to most people but some are easier to connect to than others, Joanna seems the most distant, she responds but it doesn’t feel friendly. But we won, so we’re all good this round. I really hope Ain goes home, shes manipulative, vindictive and isn’t afraid to use underhanded tactics.

WOAH! So after being recommended to play by a friend, I found out he ALSO recommended Miles to play, although in the other tribe.. I have someone I know here although I kinda got them eliminated in a Twitter Survivor... Hmmm... So far in Kalafati tribe, Im liking Miles and Joanna, Haven't had much contact with the others but they seem really cool. Im so excited to play, Especially with winning a lucky hidden immunity Idol

I’m still waving the flag I hate that challenge. I got a respectable score but if i did all that just to have the Yalos player stop after a low score, I'll be sad

My first impressions of the tribe is pretty positive! No immediate negative figures jump out at me. I'm still testing the waters, trying to figure out if any people are potentials for alliance members. Some people like Olivia, Jacob, Miles, Stephen and Thomas have reached out to me which makes them seem like good potentials for friends. However, I want to see how the reward challenge goes before I can evaluate my teammates further. 

It's amazing that we won the reward challenge and I'm so happy that I performed as well as I did. However, I am worried about the immunity challenge. I'm happy with the flash game, but the controls are really wacky and I already know it will take forever to get used to.

I'm honestly a little worried seeing that I didn't preform very well in the immunity challenge. Thankfully, we still managed to pull off a win and we didn't have to worry about tribal. Speaking of tribal, I don't think there is anyway Robbie is going to stay, seeing that he abstained in the reward and striked in the immunity. Also, I feel like I want to work with Olivia, but Miles also seems like a good person to work with, but I haven't approached either of them yet. Still weighing my options and figuring out the best way to proceed. 

Honestly it doesn’t seem like anyone is playing hard yet which is annoying me. Because I want to play hard, but if no one else is people can get sketched out by highly strategic, social players

So the first night went..... alright. My tribe wasn’t as energetic or as talkitive as I had expected. It appears as though I am on a tribe with all gay men, which sounds nice in theory, but I’m bracing for the moment these twinks start wildin. Aside from the gays, I know Ain from a past org and am starting to warm back up to her. We will probs stick together for awhile. As of now, that’s all. 

Robbie, queen of being inactive and making cases to stay last minute, came to me with the idea of booting Meowth instead. I said hell yeah! All for that shit! Not that I don’t like Meowth, it’s just I would love to do something unexpected for the first tribal. However, Sammy and Michael seem to be so against it for some reason. Lord knows why. I’m going to aim to be in the majority, but I may just cast my vote for Meowth for the hell of it. 

Ok I don’t quite remember what my last confessional was but I know for a fact I fucked up the names. Robbie is the one on the line, Sammy is just another gay. I swap their names all of the time. 

I really like this tribe so far! Everyone seems pretty chill and it's nice to know that at the moment, nobody is really mean-spirited. I know that Jacob has some past with the other Miles, but he's on the other tribe, so there's really no past relationships to deal with either, at least that I know of! I think that by far, I'd probably like to align with Olivia and Joanna for sure, and maybe Stephen, Zeezo,  Oakley, and Julian as well? I'd rather not get into scheming this early! I think it'd be much better for my game at the moment not to be the leader or figurehead of a group, but rather an updated member. I guess I'll have to see!

Alright so... Not a whole lot is going on, it's just the start of the game, we're just doing the first reward challenge. This tribe is just a bit too large for my taste but whatever, I'll manage. Getting to know all these people is interesting, which is funny because the absolute LAST word I would use to describe myself is "interesting"

I'm not entirely sure what use one would have for a fire making kit in an online survivor. Am I meant to set my laptop on fire? ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME SOMETHING????????? lmao...

There's a few people that I'm getting great vibes from. Miles would probably be the biggest one rn. I would love nothing more than to get some sort of alliance going sooner rather than later JUST IN CASE but like I don't want to be the one to actively go out and do it because if someone leaks RIP ME. Idk what I'm doing just yet. We'll figure this out.

We won the first immunity and don't have to vote anyone out, that's awesome. I can't help but feel just a little concerned though, everyone's almost a little TOO peaceful on this tribe. I'm not saying I'd want to LOSE a comp and have to face tribal but the reads I'm getting from everyone is giving me a sense of unease. I do enjoy winning though and wouldn't mind winning out. I'm just saying, I feel very uneasy with the vibes I'm receiving. Good lord I just repeated myself there. Oh well.

I really like this tribe so far! Everyone seems pretty chill and it's nice to know that at the moment, nobody is really mean-spirited. I know that Jacob has some past with the other Miles, but he's on the other tribe, so there's really no past relationships to deal with either, at least that I know of! I think that by far, I'd probably like to align with Olivia and Joanna for sure, and maybe Stephen, Zeezo,  Oakley, and Julian as well? I'd rather not get into scheming this early! I think it'd be much better for my game at the moment not to be the leader or figurehead of a group, but rather an updated member. I guess I'll have to see!

I think I'm pretty safe after this immunity challenge. I was one of 2 people to win the head to head for my tribe and therefore I have a chance to go to Paradise Island! I'm trying my best NOT to go though because I think that would put a target on my back very early on.

Right now my closest ally is Matt and I feel that we have a strong bond. We're each other's #1's and talking back and forth over who should go tonight. I'm very torn for who I'm voting for at tribal tonight, it's either Meowth (Josh) or Robbie. I've heard that Robbie may have gotten the majority but I don't feel 100% on wanting him still in the game. Yes, Meowth is weak in challenges but he's another easy vote moving forward in the future.

So, what's been going for me so far?  Well, reward challenge I busted my ass and showed what I can do, which was great!  WE lost, which sucks, and 2 people didn't submit.  Those 2 were Miles and Robbie.  This made me upset, mostly because Miles I know from my Minecraft UHC days, so we made an instant alliance from that.  Robbie I didn't care about.  Then came immunity, where once again, Robbie was unable to compete, and I still stand by that I was robbed in my challenge because of a shit quality image, but this is what I'm used to from online games like this, so I'll move on (eventually).  We got rekt in immunity, and the obvious choice was looking like Robbie for not submitting twice.  So, being the intelligent player I am, I basically pitched to Robbie that he was going home unless he made a better pitch about someone else.  He aimed at Michael, someone who I somewhat wanted to work with at the time (in hind sight, I wouldn't have cared much).  I proposed, instead, we vote for meowth (Joshua) because he just rubbed me the wrong way, under-performed, and refused to talk game strategy with me at all.  I pulled in Lukas and Jared, as well as had Ain in my pocket, and with the acquiring of Sammy by both me and Robbie, the vote should be set in our favor.  I'm still trying to convince Miles to roll with us so he's not on the losing end of the vote, but I think its 50/50 whether he will or won't.  Honestly, I feel pretty safe with this vote, being that I was a top performer and have shown how active I strive to be in these games.  I'm not super worried about this vote and hope that Robbie sticks around.  Hopefully, he becomes a powerful player and a big help in challenges.  If he's not, he'll go next for sure.  Let's hope I don't live to regret these words!

I think I’m in a pretty safe spot right now, but we def have people who think they are running the show around here...SIT DOWN or else you’ll become a target early😉 but I like everyone just don’t know who we should keep...someone who hasn’t been active or someone who tries but does not communicate. So far I feel pretty good about my tribe even though there a couple people I forgot to ever talk to oops. We seem to be good at challenges and get along well. I've connected most with Ryan so far and told him my idol clue to gain his trust. He's told me he trusts me the most out of anyone so that's good. After we talked we decided to pull in a 3rd and settled with Thomas since he got the best score in the reward challenge. After consulting with Ryan I decided to share my clue with Thomas too and the 3 of us officially performed an alliance. I think with this alliance my goal is to think more long term. Thomas is probabaly going to on Tinder performing well at challenges and be a shield for me. He also doesn't seem to talk to a lot of other people. Meanwhile Ryan seems like the type of person who might play too hard so he could be another shield. Plus we get along really well so far so that's good :') We might pull in a 4th for the alliance later since Thomas is kind of inactive and Ryan suggested Stephen so I'm interested to see how that will pan out. In other news Ryan got sent to paradise island and got the sapphire gem thing so that's great :') So if one of us finds the idol we should have great power in the game so I'm looking forward to the rest of the game 

Nothing is going really because we have been on a winning streak and have been crushing it. I knew Stephen from a previous game and we agreed to work together. He is not being extremely subtle about it but I think he wants to work with Olivia because he has mentioned her a lot and how he likes her. I don't mind that because I do like her but I am worried about the two of them being closer to each other than to me because I know they know each other. I am really liking Ryan as well and would like to work with him. I am worried I am not being as social as I should be because I do notice that I don't talk to as many people as I would like. Miles I have talked to a bit but haven't built much of a relationship with him and everyone else I have said hi to and talked to a bit but I haven't really built anything or know anything about them. I just hope we can win long enough for me to build those relationships because I am worried that I am one of the two people to lose my round in the immunity challenge.

PyeongChang Men’s SP Reaction

I had reservations about doing this reaction post but I’m watching the NBC mini-promos for everyone (cue lil’ kid saying that Javi is his ONLY hero <3) competing tonight and all the feels flooding in.

Also gonna put my dream podium out there in advance so I can lay claim to my fantasies before they possibly flop: Yuzu, Nathan, Javi (in that order for Gold, Silver, and Bronze), but ofc the best scenario is that everyone skates well and leaves the ice happy and the gremlin judges can do whatever. I haven’t watched a lot of the earlier-group men this season, but looking at their music choices I’m pretty excited for Julian Zhi Jie Yee’s Build a Home program (P/C’s 2016 FS from Euros that year still sticks with me) and hopefully Yaroslav hits his 4F. Just writing out everyone’s name is getting me hella nervous

Okay I’m sorry it’s been a hot minute but here are my thoughts on the first two rounds of the game: First of all WHAOOOOOOOH this cast is STACKED!!! I was pleasantly surprised to see Will and Autumn again. Love my boy Jared. Love Juls, Isaac, Ryan, IAN!!!! Beck and Blake legends.... But then there are also quite a few I’ve never played with before that seemed cool hehe so I’m hype! This first round I focused a lot on connections and Jared and I got together and dreamed up a bomb ass alliance of me, him, Jarod, Autumn, Juls and Isaac. Genuinely love talking to and playing with all five of them so I am hopeful that we all go far. But I did spend some time with other connections as well. I LOVE Christian, he told me he wasn’t the best at typing so I added him on WhatsApp and he sends me voice memos all the time hahaha if my alliance is the brigade then he is the Britney to my Lane <3 love him. Raul is awesome as well. Nash legend. Ian and Will I knew before but haven’t played with in FOREVER which has been fun to catch up with. Will was first in the chain reaction thing and was thinking of giving to Ian and I was like Ian is gonna hold a grudge if u do that why not pick Nik instead !!!! Lmao. CS Clear, a bit less fun in that it's all on-type, but the focus was trying to get the common Strikers to work.  With...mixed results.

Vs. Lance This came about because I desperately wanted to do Dual Sylveon.  Penny is only 2/5.  I'm taking dailies in hopes she cooperates once and spares me the candy.  I had to pity for that second copy, I am owed.  On-type, this team does great.  P!Dawn is a great solution, being able to debuff attack which stops Dragonite from being a clean KO nuke.  Valerie herself does okay.  It's not great, but it's serviceable.

Vs. Bruno Now this one's goofy.  Clay has very awkward conditions to make work, but technically, Aaron is a solution, providing offensive needs and Sp Def with Defend Order.  SS Leaf is to get spread Toxic up easily, and then also to debuff, like, everything for both survival and maximum damage output on Clay.  28k is actually really good for someone like him, you know.

Vs. Agatha Now, this one's easy money.  Agatha can sleep, which means denying a lot of actions.  Shauntal's EX isn't exactly great, but in a comp like this, she's got nothing better to do, and it's at least strong enough to take out half HP on the sides for a fairly simple denial chain.  Once it's just center, the sleep chaining is easy.  Shauntal's DPS is so stupid that there's no real threat of death at any point.  Unless you drop the sleep.  Don't drop the sleep.

Vs. Lorelei Easily the hardest match.  I don't know what the deal is.  I kinda do, but I also don't.  Marshal has pathetic special defense, so he gets obliterated by sync, and does not have anywhere near the move damage to make things work.  Lorelei herself is just a cheat, boosting evasion each time she's hit.  Maylene is an arguable solution, but she can't take hits so I think she's useless.  If I had remembered the whole evasion boosting thing, I would've saved Aaron.  But I didn't, so...we lost a few times due to stupid evasion and Crit Shield.  Because that's life I guess.

Vs. Blue Silver nuke.  Not the most creative solution, I kinda regret not using Lodge Calem, but after Lorelei I was mad and just wanted to be done.

You know, I don't remember Summer Musashi or Summer Nero or Summer Tamamo or Summer Artoria or Summer Atler being this gimmicky...honestly not even sure if Bunnytoria counts. Kiara swoops into being the latest 5-star Summer Servant, and comes in with one of the most absolutely bloated kits in the entire game. I have her and can barely be arsed to remember everything she does. To start however, and to make things simpler, let's look at her fundamentals.

Her base stats aren't amazing. Like most Moon Cancers, she has very high HP and more middling ATK. Her ATK isn't that bad, but I'll never say no to having more ATK on a Servant who has an AoE NP. Her NP generation is...very average. She'll generate on average 34% of her NP gauge with her AQA chain, which isn't spectacular really for her card set. Her star generation isn't great either, with her best chains generating 15 crit stars on average. Blame her single 3 hit Quick for that.

Moving onto her skills...first we have Mermaid's Flesh EX. It gives her a powerful 5 turns Guts on a 6 turn cooldown, which is already enough to give praise, but it also removes her debuffs, gives her a decent HP regen, boosts her NP damage, and gives her a unique buff. I know I talked up Cu Chulainn's Guts buff when it was revealed, but this makes it look laughable in comparison. Her unique buff gives her another unique buff that lasts for 4 turns, ever turn for 4 turns. What this means is at Level 10, and honestly probaby at least Level 6, you will always have some number of this unique buff active all the time, since the last one will last a couple turns in. This buff is used to power up her second and third skills, which is the primary gimmick of Kiara and her unique one. This skill is fantastic, its a great survival option, and does basically everything else you want.

Her second skill is Supernatural Power (Ink), of which I am pretty strongly annoyed that Kiara gets a stronger version of this, at base, than Hokusai does. Why did that happen? Anyways, this is an NP charge with a star bomb baked into it, granting 30% of her NP gauge and 20 crit stars at max. On a 5 turn cooldown, this is a rather fantastic skill that helps to remedy both her average NP generation and poor star generation. Of course...that's before rank-up. With one Skill Rank Up buff used, the charge is boosted to 40% and the star bomb boosted to 25, and with two, it becomes 50% and 30 stars. At max skill rank, Kiara has access to one of the most powerful NP charges in the game, and it's only really slow for its first use, since you should always have some Skill Rank buffs active from that point on. It basically solves her NP and star generation problems every time its used.

Clam Palace gives Kiara not one, but two skills with a ton of different effects. It gives the party 1 hit of evasion for 3 turns, being a slightly weaker Harp of Healing in that regard, removes Ignore Evasion buffs from the enemy, inflicts a unique mental debuff that reduces crit chance, reduces defense, and Arts resistance. This skill is her damage steroid, and its very good for what it does. It turns on the special damage clause on her NP, boosts her Arts damage by 44%, 56.25%, or 69% depending on the rank, and is even a solid support option, although one that's not immediately available. The cooldown is even reasonable for this skill. It's very good.

Even her passives are good. Extra Arts performance, NP damage, and Defense all are appreciated, especially since they're at very high levels for passive skills. It's truly something.

Onto Kiara's NP, it does okay damage if the enemy isn't inflicted with a mental debuff. Thanks to her class and low ATK, it actually doesn't do as much as one would hope, even with her steroids factored in. It's enough to kill hands, at least. But when mental debuffs are involved...the damage goes up pretty significantly. I've heard from sources I trust that this is an effective damage buff, so not only do I have to edit the Quirinus analysis, but it makes Kiara's damage very strong, more than doubling it. Her NP will do about 68k damage on average to neutral targets with just the 3 Bewitchment buffs her 3rd skill gives, which is quite notable. It's not as powerful as say, Arjuna Alter, but it's comparable. With proper supports, Kiara can also function as a decent boss killer, since her steroids are a little on the low side and she can hit some pretty high damage in the right team comp, but her efficacy compared to ST NPs is questionable.

Onto looping discussion for a moment, it's possible. Due to the way Kiara works though, it's a bit complicated to determine how to optimally farm enemies. Since all of her steroids except for the NP damage on Mermaid's Flesh are debuffs, you need to hold them for the final wave, especially since with two stacks of Rank Up buffs she'll have a maximum power NP to use. At NP 1, this will restrict her to farming Rider and Caster mobs since she can't get the necessary amount of overkill hits from even neutral NP mobs like Sabers, and even then, this has a limit of about 40,000 HP since she'll need 6 hits of overkill in total, and requires the use of Fragment of 2004's NP gen buff. With Sign of Smiling Face or Royal Icing, she can farm Saber enemies with less than 30,000 HP optimally, and again with Fragment of 2004. With Assassin and Berserker enemies, with Royal Icing / Sign of Smiling Face, she'll need to use her 3rd skill turn 1 along with Fragment of 2004 to farm, which will dramatically lower her NP damage turn 3. If you have Kiara at a higher NP level, she's far more efficient at looping, and actually becomes a pretty great looper due to being able to largely ignore strong wave 3 enemies. At NP5, she'll do more than enough damage to be able to easily beat any mob with her Skill 3 up.

Support Options: Kiara really should be used with pretty much every single Arts support you can throw at her. They'll boost his damage, her consistency, and in many cases her survivability. It really doesn't get more straight forward than that. You can do gimmicky teams with Fuuma, Summer Abby, and another Kiara focused on mental debuffs, but it really isn't that worth it to give her a bit of a stronger NP.

Command Code: You'll want to focus on Command Codes that increase the star absorption of her Arts cards, in order to give her better access to crits, and NP generating codes. The majority of Kiara's damage is focused in her NP, so she doesn't benefit from card damage boosting command codes as much as other Servants.

Craft Essences: Really depends on the team you're using her in. For the majority of situations, The Black Grail, Royal Icing, and Sign of Smiling Face are her strongest options available, dramatically boosting her damage. Dive to Blue, Sumo CE, and Painting Summer are also good options thanks to her delayed 50% NP charge, and she can even use Kaleidoscope for instant NPs if that's what you need. Favor the first batch of CEs on dedicated Arts teams, and the second batch for general use teams.

Competition: Space Ishtar is, surprisingly enough, Kiara's main competition. Kiara's advantage over Space Ishtar is her ridiculous NP damage potential, but Spishtar is a much easier Servant to use for farming. Kiara's NP damage is so good that she comes out as the best Moon Cancer DPS, outshadowing everything else. Both BBs and Jinako still have their benefits, but they can't really claim to provide stiff competition in the damage department comparatively.

Pros: -Three incredible skills with powerful and varied effects -Guts, HP regen, and Evasion give Kiara surprisingly survivability -Large NP charge and star bomb -NP damage is very high for an AoE Servant and she can easily trigger her effective damage buff -Solid looping potential -Can solo well thanks to her Guts and HP regen, especially versus Avengers

Cons: -Getting the most out of her skills is difficult thanks to the delayed nature of her Rank up buffs -Looping potential is reliant on NP level, low NP levels will farm less effectively than usual -Moon Cancer class is bad offensively, only hitting Avengers SE -Skill 3 is nothing but debuffs, meaning she generally will only hit hard for one wave -NP damage is much more mediocre without Skill 3

Kiara is probably the best offensive Moon Cancer we have right now. Her damage is pretty great, she can farm well in Arts teams, and she has good survival options. Despite her flaws natural to her kit, she's a very strong 5-star thanks to her great kit and good NP. Learning to use her might take some time, but you'll be better for it.

Episode 14 (Finale) | “All of this and more, but only in Autumn's World” - Autumn

So I figured out that Amir does have the idol and Jakey originally had it that round... damn I wish I looked a little more but I just didn't think Jakey had it. So that probably means that Autumn is going this round, and then I just need to find a way to win this next challenge over Amir. I know Kendall and I will vote together next round regardless, so worst case scenario next round for me is that I am in some kind of fire-making challenge, but I at least see there being a good chance that me and Kendall could be sitting in FTC together, and I'm just hoping at this point that it's Augusto sitting there with us. P.S. In the event that I make FTC... I really hope I'm not seen as a goat. Like, I don't think I am, but I'm not sure how much respect I'll get for my game. I'm hoping people see how savvy I had to be to continuously work my way back up after a couple blindsides and being pushed to the bottom, but you never know with this jury / cast. P.P.S. Please no pressure cooker next round. I'm not ready to have to beat Amir THAT way.

So I'll count that as half of a success. I was at least able to help convince Amir to play the idol he told me about to flush that, and with Autumn safe, the next option was to do Adam. Knowing that if Autumn did have the merge idol, she probably wasn't playing it on Adam, this was the next best option. I need Kendall and Augusto around because those are the two I'd like to bring to FTC if I can make it there. It makes sense to take them to the end as our games are all very similar, so at least we aren't against a winner at the end. Part of me thinks that bringing Amir may not be the worst thing in the world given he has screwed over a decent bit of that jury, but also, I'd rather not take that risk.

So now that that's done and I'm cute and immune, I can confirm it all. Yes I do have the merge idol, yes I've had it since Final 7 but planned not to play it until Final 5, and yes that makes me the most powerful person here. Deadass everyone wants my head on a stick and I don't give a single fuck. I'm chilling all weekend, letting them think they're doing something if/when I lose win immunity, and then I'm sending a man out on one vote Monday night. You think they hate me now? Wait til they find out they can't take a shot at me until Final 4 lmaaaaoo. Be blessed!

I'm so glad I was able to take this challenge win! I needed to win this to guarantee I wasn't some kind of contingency plan. But now, it's about how can I guarantee a winner goes home. I've already kind of told Autumn she was in trouble (literally 0 point in lying to her about it) and have explained to both Kendall and Augusto that we should find a way to split the votes / guarantee that Autumn and Amir have no shot of working with one another and sending home one of the two people I want with me at FTC. I feel so close, yet so far away from the title of Sole Tumblr Survivor. I want this win so badly. I can't describe how much I want this win. I didn't come back just to have fun; I didn't come back just for maybe an ounce of redemption from Guyana, I came to win this mother-effer. I have at least a 25% shot at the moment, but I want to increase that number. 

Final 5... it's so insane honestly because I never expected this of myself but I've played my ASS off (literally, that's why I'm flatter than a table top) especially these past few rounds. I'm kinda shocked that the clear targets are Autumn/Amir/TJ just given I have been a force in the game (subtly ofc) so its def a gag... but yeah. TJ winning the immunity was WORST case scenario because I wanted to come for that man's neck SO bad but we'll just have to get him next time. Amir having the merge idol isn't a SHOCK but it was interesting to say the least like rip telling me that but both his idol plays are gonna be kinda useless which helps my case! I know that Autumn said me and Kendall have been up Amir's ass but first of all... i'm a bottom so I would never BUT also I feel I've held my own this entire game so it isn't my truth in the slightest but I'll just have to prove her, TJ, and the jurors wrong if I got to. I'm screaming at Amir asking me after if kept him strategically or out of loyalty and I'm like sis what do you think. I was not about to let the white knights get their way and give TJ the win all because he's a good car salesman. Like y'all should've seen that 1 hr plus discussion of TJ and Amir going back and forth on camera about who I have a better chance of beating and I'm just sitting there IMMUNE taking notes, knowing neither of them wanted this. (final 4) oh dear me this one is a tuffyyyy wuffyyy.... okay okay. so its f4, tj thinks im voting with him and kendall to vote autumn. Episode 6 - So I think I have an idol Im shook and confusion.- Heather

This swap may seem really good for me at first seeing as that I'm coming back to my core three alliance that I plan to truly stay loyal to in Coco, Heather and myself, as well as with Glo who I was really close to. However, the main concern for me is that there's a good chance that we could get caught as the power alliance. On my old tribe, the core three alliance was a total secret. However, the secret alliance could easily get figured out come merge, and put a target on our backs seeing as we all came back from the same tribe twice. THAT is the main concern for me.

Damage Control with Keegan time. I am afraid Game wise he is going to go after me which is not what I want, saying idk how Glo is gonna do on the challenge since. Its weird with having to get a free trial and then cancel right after. I don't feel safe at all if we go to tribal again. I definitely made myself a target after last night.

I come back to my old tribe from Oak Island, where I realize it was a 3-2 vote out for Chips over Glo. Honestly, this completely took me by surprise, because Keegan was the obvious outsider, but he didn't receive a single vote. This makes me very weary of Keegan knowing that if he can escape votes that easily from a 4-1 majority, then he must be a damn good player. At first I didn't like that Chips got voted out, but then I thought about it more, and realized it was probably in my best interest, and here's why. There's a good chance that if they got suspicious of my coming back from Oak Island and suspect that I may have something (and I do), then they would've likely flipped on me if every member on this tribe left was on my old tribe. Having Keegan here serves as a shield for me, and I know that my alliance of four wouldn't target me with Keegan here, but they might've if Chips were here.

Just found out that it was 2 votes GLO lmao I’m even more confused I’m still sticking with the idea that it was Coco, Glo & Keegan. I’m guessing heather tried to vote out Glo because she really didn’t wanna lose any more comps, but glo was able to convince coco against that [which I feel was easier to do than glo let on] Another possibility is that glo & coco striked first, because they knew if Evan joined & they lost again, they’d be in the minority. I’m def gonna push the narrative that glo & coco we’re defending themselves tho because that’s easier to digest Anyway, on our tribe if we lose, I feel like Dan would be gone. Unless he has an idol, which I feel like he would totally idol me out, so if we do go to tribal I would probably throw a vote to someone else. Because I have severe paranoia. LOL. He’s been very quiet & that could be because he’s lost all fight in him or because he has an idol

I’m honestly not quite sure where I stand with this tribe right now. In terms of advantages I’m in a hella good spot. But Evan doesn’t talk to me, Gloria has been pretty quiet with me. I do have Heather and Coco I speak to a bit but I’m not sure where if anywhere those relationships will go. But whatever. I have an idol if I feel I’m in a sticky situation if we lose the challenge. Although my near perfect GeoGuessr score should hopefully be enough for them to keep me around even if we do lose. I’m really hoping we get to a merge sooner rather than later, maybe just two challenges away. I really want to reconnect with Mac and Darcy. I miss them a whole lot.

Why do I keep being allies with everyone on the tribe. Keegan seems to be fine with me but Im not totally buying it. PLEASE WIN IMMUNITY OTHERWISE I WILL DO THE BIG CRYING

I’ve been playing geoguesser in orgs for how many years & I just now realized that you’re guessing your STARTING LOCATION this whole time I thought we were guessing our current location. How have I made it this far in life

So tribal at the other camp honestly has me confused. I know we weren't a tribe vs tribe situation, but everyone did seem on the same page about sticking around (at least for another vote after a swap). Seeing votes split against Chips and Glo, with no votes against Keegan who was on the outs has me confused. I can only help but wonder why those two got votes and why it was split. I'm also wondering if two of my alliance members that are on that tribe (Heather and Coco) voted together or separately. I'm starting to doubt the loyalty of everyone, and it makes me wonder what's going to happen at our tribe.

Stephen made an alliance with myself, Austin and Dylan after the the other tribe's tribal council to try and keep our tribe loyal to eachother. I fully intend on being most loyal to those that were on my tribe, but not everyone. To my knowledge, Austin and I are in similar positions, and both don't know where Dylan stands. Stephen is more trustworthy because he has gone out of his way to make conversations, while I've always been the initiator for Dylan and Dan (who's also on our tribe). I'm fine voting Dan out if we lose, but I wouldn't mind voting Dylan. He's a great guy and we have stuff in common, but it's not smart for my game in a scenario where Dan isn't going home. Hopefully we win this immunity challenge and don't have to deal with this vote, but at some point we need to go to tribal to confirm our loyalties and borders.

So we successfully won this immunity challenge and I think the other team will vote out Livingston which is fine with me. I still trust Heather&Evan the most but I really like Glo too. I'm just worried if I go to the end with Glo people will be like aww she's so nice and cute, let's give her the win.
