The blues in your crown.

° Hi chat! This is my rant about one of my Heartslice AUs! All of this is copy pasted from a server, and half of it isnt an actual writing but yay! LONG BLOG INCOMING!

When Scott first arrives to Dogwarts castle a week before their marriage, Ren is very awkward around him, and one day asks Scott to talk about somethign in private, something about their future

Ren knows that he needs this marriage, because he cant marry Martyn, lets say that the church that time period is very against marriage with someone with no royal blood, and since Martyn is a commander, it might start a lot of drama and well, he knew that sooner or later he would have to find someone to settle with

then Scott came around

it was actually Xornoth not Scott but eh

Xornoth is the king of Rivendell and has the last say in everythign that comes to Scott, sadly, and well, he wanted Scott out of the castle for many reasons, so Scott was brought up to Ren as a peace offering, he and Ren would marry, and it would settle a bridge between two kingdoms

just before the official marriage, Ren decided to finally talk about their relationship and how it will go from Ren's side, because he already has a lover and Scott seems surprisingly nice about it? like yeah, go for it, I don't care, we will still have to sleep in the same bed for most of the nights, but i don't care, if you have someone, go for them

it surprises Ren a lot, but also pushes their "friendship" forward, because Ren doesnt have to hide his affair and Scott ACTUALLY doesnt seem to think bad about Ren having someone

Martyn is very sus about it, like VERY suspicious of Scotts every step, because what? he understands that Scott was forced into this relationship, so he doesnt love Ren, but someone, especially an ELF, accepting the fact that their future husband has another partner? suspicious

Elves are very.. needy and selfish as described from other species, so having Scott accept his partner cheating?? Scott is supposed to see this as disrespect, as betrayal

so yeah, he tries to keep his eyes on Scott, while he and Ren try to pretend, that they are not dating, because while Scott is aware of Ren's affairs now, he wasnt told who it was with

initially, neither Ren nor Martyn find anything in Scott that might get romantic attraction, Ren was never into royals, and Martyn isn't into people who hold themselves higher than anyone while sitting on their ass and not doing anything, (Ren is a weird king, he's very active in his kingdom, very nice to his subjects. Yes sometimes his kindness even to ENEMY annoys him, but otherwise, he always thought it was Ren's attractive side, the way he wasnt in the clouds, and instead understood peoples struggles and helped)

Scott is.. also weird, but bad kind of way for Martyn

Scott always acts so cold, holds his head up, and always with those royal manners, just walkign around like he owns the place, he learns peoples names who work in the palace, but otherwise never talks with them unless he needs something to be done, and its a very drastic change, considering how Ren treats his subjects

Scott never got rid of his blue yes he now has some clothes that reference dogwarts, but his rivendell blue is still there in his jewelry, stitches in his red cloak, blue gloves that dont match rest of the red outfit, Martyn almost feels pity for him, because it doesnt seem liek Scott is wearign that to symbolize where he came from, but what he left behind and misses very much

Ren actually notices that too, and one day changes Scott's crown that he was given on his wedding, changing the usual dogwarts rubies to rivendell sapphires, the stones in his crown now matching Scotts hair

(Scott felt very weird about it. He promised he wasn't gonna start falling for his husband, but this gesture made him think that maybe Ren cared after all. Not romantic, but the care for his husband was still there)

it all changed six months into this marriage, when Martyn found Scott sneaking around the castle at night, he recognized him even under that dark cloak, that silently passed through the other guards, moving toward the dungeons

he followed him, and quickly found himself in a secret passage (he knew it was there, of course he did, but how did Scott knew about it?) and then found Scott surrounded by four people in a military uniform, rivendellian uniform

he knew that Scott was very suspicious and listening closely to what he was talking about with the unfamiliar guars- wait, did someone mention a word "revolution"?!

he tried to get away from there as quickly and silently as possible, because holy shit, Scott is planning to overthrow Ren! What are they planning? poison the king? assassination at night? he needs to alert the guards as quick as possible

guess what happens

Scott hears him, because of course he does, come on man, there's no escaping Scott, there's no "passing by" he will know you're there and so Martyn finds himself face to a sword, as Tango in the blue uniform snarls at him, forcing him to take a step back into the room where they all were located

"Tango, for the love of Aeor, put your sword down," Scott sighs, rubbing his eyes.

"Your Majesty-" Impulse starts worried, sending a glance between Scott and Martyn, his hand on his own sword, as Skizz and Zed also tense behind him.

"It was bound to happen at some point," Scott points out, staring Martyn in the eyes, who glares back at him, his attention on the room, probably searching for a way to run away. "Just close the door, let him listen."

"What?!" Tango exclaims, trying to keep his eyes on Martyn. "But-"

"He's my husband's Hand, I trust him," Scott states, dropping down on the chair. It seems both wrong and very suitable for Scott, as Martyn thinks, seeing Scott in a chair with only the purpose to hold a traitor for torture. He surely deserves it.

"Trust me? In what? Overthrowing my king?" Martyn snarls, leaning forward, despite the sword pointing right at his throat. He hears a snort from someone else in the room, followed by a sigh from the guard holding the sword.

"If the word gets back to the King, we are dead," Zed hums, his shoulders slumping over.

"Come on, we were already dead for a while now," Skizz snorts, finally letting go of his own weapon and leaning back at the wall.

"We are not overthrowing my husband, Martyn," Scott says with a snicker. This is the first time Martyn has heard Scott express any positive emotion, which immediately makes him wince in surprise.

"Don't fucking lie to me! I heard you talking about revolution!"

"Yes, but not in Dogwards," Scott hums, putting his elbows on the chair and locking his fingers in front of his chest. "I don't have anything against Ren, and I'm not going for his throne."

"Then what-" Martyn feels his shoulders slightly relax, but the sudden smirk on Scott's face, which makes the room go cold, makes him tense.

"My brother, of course. We are planning a revolution in Rivendell."

Martyn finally learns the true reason behind Scott being so chill about Ren being with someone else. He never even planned to stay in Dogwarts more than needed!

He learns that Scott knew about the arranged marriage even before it happened, before Xornoth heard about Ren's announcement about searching for another royal to share the throne with

Scott was the reason Xornoth heard about it in the first place, his people found out about it, delivered the news, and with Scott's order, mentioned it around the King, putting the plan in motion

Scott needed to get out of Rivendell as soon as possible, he needed a place far away from home, where he would be able to plan in peace and start working on his future

Xornoth... he started walking down the wrong path a long time ago, a path their parents would never approve, and the life in Rivendell has gone worse since then. their subjects were scared of their new king, Rivendell plunging into poverty and chaos for the first time in centuries

That was the main reason why Xornoth wanted to get rid of him, he knew Scott didn't approve of his ways, of the ways of Exor

so Scott knew about their marriage way before it happened, and didn't care when Ren told him about a lover, because surprise! he already knew

Ooohh, he learned everything he could, and when you're an elf, with a very strong magic, and an access to an anciet library, it's easy to find information you need

he pretended he didnt knew about Martyn, but he knew it very well, he didnt care because love and Dogwarts were never his priorities

he needed his place back in Rivendell, back with his people, people that were suffering

zits worked for Scott as long as he can remember (five years, but it feels longer) and he knew they would follow him, and they did, they slowly gather people in Rivendell, to rally them against Xornoth, while hes in Dogwarts

(needless to say, the fact that he didnt come in here searching for love, doesnt mean that he didnt find it for Ren after six long months)

aaand Martyn does agree to help, so Scott was right about that, but Martyn demands for Scott to tell Ren about this, because now Scott is a king consort (yes king, i dont use prince consort in here) of Dogwarts, so he's threatening war with another kingdom as one of them, which will damage Ren's reputation

I dont think I need to point out that this is the moment when Martyns interest in him sparkles for the first time, the only reason why he was against Scott, was his coldness, and the way he held himself around the palace, but it was actually pain

like he didnt act that way because he didnt care, or because he was actually cold, no, his people are suffering, while he's safe in another kingdom, and it actually pained his soul, and learning this, pushed Martyn forward

what pushed Ren forward, was the war counsils LMAOO

you know how Martyn is the commander of the army, and he asked Scott to talk to Ren about this? Yeah, after hearing him out, Ren approved the unofficial "war counsils" in the special hall, where Scott's generals could gather instead of talking in the cold dungeons, and well, as the King and the Hand, Ren decided that he and Martyn should be there

Ren just listening and looking at Martyn and Scott speak the same language, just sharing a plan after plan, a possible tactic after tactic, and Ren is going insaaane

none of the red army generals was able to keep up with Martyn this easily, but Scott? Oh he held himself in the counsil perfectly, that was what sparkled the feelings for Ren :D Scott's drive to fight and his devotion to his people

Initially Scott thought to start this revolution faceless, it would be "led" by the guards, Scott "would be safe in Dogwarts" aka they wanted to pretend that Scott was far away from the fight, and he didnt do anything but with Ren's support, it went a bit.. well

let's say, after the revolution started, Scott entered the throne room where Xornoth was located with the Dogwarts flag raised high

so yeah, after the revolution ends, and Xornoth fucking dies (im sorry Xornoth, you will be a good guy in another universe), Scott is crowned as Rivendells King, so Ren ends up being his King Consort of Rivendell, while Scott is his King Consort of Dogwarts

Rivendell and Dogwarts are very close to each other (their castles like.. only a day travel on the carriage) so they often just.. move around

they spend a week in Rivendell, and then another in Dogwarts and Martyn follows them around

so yeah, the love and kisses happen in the end, but Scott was NOT planning it

he thought they were gonna be just like that, living in different kingdoms and all, but woah, look at them now, they are traveling together!
