the starving street cat headmate has discovered the smoked salmon we bought
#we now have half a package of smoked salmon#he likes. smelling it#it smells really strongly of hickory smoke it's actually really nice#he wants more but we do not want to become ill#we can't have too much meat our body struggles to digest it#bc we kind of stopped eating much meat for a few months because we kept getting sick and going in and out of the ER#and red meat is more likely to upset our stomach so we've been sticking mostly to white meat like chicken and turkey#but we're slowly trying to introduce more meat into our diet again because our protein and calcium levels are real bad#our liver isn't doing too well because of the constant throwing up or not being able to eat#so we really really have to pay attention to what we're eating#while also desperately trying to balance thinking about it as little as possible#because the more we track what food we're eating the more disordered our eating gets because we get neurotic about it#we 1000% cannot focus at all on calorie intake because it messes with our head bad#but focusing more on the nutrients gained is better so we're trying to cycle between safe foods and nutrient foods#getting more calcium and fruit vitamins and protein from things like yoghurt smoothies (with added lactase so i can eat it!) and sardines#we've been focusing on trying to find ready-to-eat meats like canned meat and refrigerated meat#to make it easier to eat When We Want/Need To instead of at set times#makes it easier to Actually Eat

One week in quarantine
Happy weeksary in another country self! Excited to get out. I dunno where should I go first. Most likely, a museum or a book shop. Hehe. Anyway, one more week to go.
***
Day 5 - November 2
I dread our BIA classes. There's just too much assignments. Anyway, that's my only beef. Good thing submission's extended. After class, spent my lunch time watching some episodes from Big Bang Theory. Then completed my ODI assignment just to tick off some more boxes in my long to-do list. The quarantine really would be spent catching up on assignments.
I failed to do my dance workout that day because dysmenorrhea. Also, we did another swab test. They really are more careful doing the tests here. I did not choke. Hahaha. Everyday, police and SA health check on us. It's a good thing. I have people to talk to routinely.
More ODI readings at night. Devotion during the family call. Then sleep.
***
Day 6 - November 3
Alarm rings off at 6.30AM, but my body cherishes the soft bed too much. I wake up again at 8:30AM when the usual knock for breakfast delivery is heard. Classes by 10AM.
We discussed Shoshanna Zuboff's surveillance capitalism. It's a fascinating topic to discuss when it comes to the ethics and politics of data but I guess our professor's engrossed with us writing thinkpieces than actually thinking and debating the concepts brought forth in class. I feel like it's a lost opportunity. Will probably place that in the evals. ODI is fun as always. Our prof is always as engaging.
Lunch is bahn mi and lumpia with a creamy filling. Pinoy lumpiang shanghai is still superior. I hope I can find the ingredients to do one, once I get out. Talked to my parents during lunch. They unboxed the token we received from DTI for a paper presentation.
Watched more BBT episodes than actually doing my Cities assignment. Priorities. I guess I am bored. I want to go outside and walk for a bit. That's what I usually do when I run out of things to write.
Danced my heart out to more kpop songs. NCT's Kick It is in Just Dance 2021. Nice! I still can't master the steps for Blackpink's Ddu-Ddu-Ddu. Afternoon showers are good and relaxing.
More BBT eps at night, family call with devotion, sleep. Routine so far.
***
Day 7 - November 4
Thursday is no class day. Worked out the data for my BIA assignment during the morning. The remote computer thing is really wonderful innovation. I get to use Windows PC in my Mac. Amazing. The afternoon came by swiftly and I spent it writing my Cities plan paper. Submitted it late but I'm glad I thought more about it since I was struggling how to write the SWOT yesterday.
Dance workout by late afternoon. Did some pop mix. Shoutout to A Mini Universe in Youtube for your 40-minute workouts. You are saving my quarantine really.
I tried Alice in Borderland during dinnertime. Intriguing storyline but bad choice because I'm all alone. Also, steak at night is not really good. Why are they serving steak at night?? More hot water for me to aid digestion. Did data viz while nursing Sprite hoping to get relief from too much meat. By 12MN, I'm ready to sleep.
***
One more week to go.

What Is Gout?
Gout is an arthritic condition characterized by acute joint pain, edema, and inflammation. It occurs when the blood has too much uric acid, causing crystals to form in the joints.
The big toes are affected in over half of all gout cases, while the fingers, wrists, knees, and heels are also affected.
When there is too much uric acid in the blood, gout symptoms or "attacks" occur. When the body digests certain foods, it produces uric acid as a waste product.
Uric acid crystals might form in your joints if your levels are too high. Swelling, inflammation, and excruciating pain are all symptoms of this procedure.
Gout bouts usually happen at night and last three to ten days (6).
The majority of persons with the illness have these symptoms as a result of their bodies' inability to effectively eliminate excess uric acid. This allows uric acid to build up in the joints, solidify, and settle.
Others with gout produce too much uric acid as a result of their genetics or nutrition.
How Does Food Affect Gout? (Gout Foods To Avoid)
Certain foods, if you have gout, can cause an attack by boosting your uric acid levels.
Purines, a naturally occurring component in meals, are typically found in trigger foods. Your body produces uric acid as a waste product when you consume purines.
Healthy people don't have to worry about this because their bodies easily remove excess uric acid.
Gout sufferers, on the other hand, are unable to effectively eliminate excess uric acid. As a result, a high-purine diet may cause uric acid to build up and lead to a gout attack.
Gout episodes can be avoided by limiting high-purine foods and using the proper medicine, according to study.
Organ meats, red meats, seafood, alcohol, and beer are all known to cause gout attacks. They have a moderate-to-high purine content.
There is one exception to this rule, though. Gout attacks are not triggered by high-purine foods, according to research.
Interestingly, while not being purine-rich, fructose and sugar-sweetened beverages can raise the incidence of gout and gout attacks.
They may instead increase uric acid levels by speeding up many cellular processes.
People who ingested the most fructose, for example, had a 62 percent increased risk of developing gout, according to a study with over 125,000 participants.

The kidney does a lot of work in regulating how the body adapts to the high rate of secretion that happens in the body. We would be looking at tips on how to fight against kidney cancer.
Make manly salads
While men are known for becoming potential species for kidney cancer more than women, it gives rise to attention to be placed on the kind of food that they eat.
Salads with arugula or cabbage should be consumed a lot with vegetables such as; carrots, radishes, and vitamin c red peppers.

Mad knowledge Drop for better life
Here's some tips to make you feel better and live a better quality of life.
#1) STOP EATING BEEF EVERYDAY. I get it. McDonald's is cheap and everywhere. But there's a fish filet and yogurt and flapjacks on their menu too. Burger King has Veggie burgers and a fish sandwich. Taco Bell has quesadillas that are just cheeese. Jack in the box has curly fries and ranch. I'm not saying stop eating Beef altogether. I'm just saying once a week, try to not eat beef. It'll help the environment and your digestive tract. Try the chicken or the fish you've never heard of or even plant based stuff.
#2) DRINK WATER DAMN IT.
Everywhere you go, you can ask for just ice water or a water cup. It's cheaper, better for your body, lowers your sugar intake, makes you feel full, keeps the body healthy and lubricated properly,... the list goes on forever. Basically, it's good for you on so many levels. But don't drink when you're not thirsty. Then you run the risk of overhydration and too much water retention. Like all things, moderation.
#3) Sugar is killing you. No seriously, artificial sugar is saturating our foods and bodies and that's why we keep getting fatter. Not because we aren't doing anything. Now, some of us are broke and can't eat entirely healthier BUT you can swap the habit of a pint of ice cream for 3 bananas. Bananas are cheap thankfully. And full of natural sugars that the body processes easily. Speaking of sugar... Ditch the soda. Not forever. Just 50%. I dare you to switch your soda at fast food places for water just every other order and see if you don't feel better.
#4 DEMAND BETTER. WE DON'T NEED JUNK. Since the 1950s we as a society have gotten bigger houses because we are filling them with more junk than we need. Life isn't a video game where you have to hoard everything for later. Ditch the stuff you don't use. Stop buying junk. Ditch plastic bags for alternatives every chance possible (Grocery shopping, mall shopping, wherever) Stop using straws everywhere. They wash the cups by law. Just drink from it. DEMAND A STRONGER RECYCLING PROGRAM FROM BIG BUSINESS. If they're gonna sell us junk they should take responsibility for the grief they piled onto our backs, into our homes and landfills and oceans because WE CAN'T DISPOSE OF IT ALL PROPER. WE USE MORE THAN WE NEED. LET. THAT. SHIT. GOOOOOOOO. Coca cola used to do bottle recycling and incentivised recycling plans can really boost local economies. I'm not saying ditch grandma's holocaust ring. I'm saying you don't need 5 of the same shirt and 13 different pairs of shoes. And guys? You don't need 5 different barbecue tongs. Idk. Same with the shirts thing goes to you too. Trust me, less is more in our quickly cramping world. Maximize your space and life by minimizing the ish you don't need. I'm not saying ditch everything and become a monk or extreme minimalist. I'm just saying live lightly, step lightly, and you will feel lighter eventually.
Disclaimers: No this will not cure diabetes and make you lose 10 lbs in two days. No I'm not trying to dictate how you live your life exactly. These are suggestions. Yes, I know we all got struggles and being broke makes access to half of the good life hard, but seriously. Just try some of this a little bit for a month. If you don't feel better after changing those habits, by all means, go back as you were I guess. No, I'm not saying go vegan. I'm saying reconsider eating the thing causing our planet to fry because it's farts make too much greenhouse gas. I wish I was kidding. There are more cows than humans on this planet because of the meat industry. Demand they not exclude the real culprit even if it is their literal cash cow. Yes life sucks, no it won't be easy, yes it will be worth it. If you don't believe anything I just said, go look up the science. I'm too lazy to link all my ideas right now. These are tips not a damn book report. Don't make me make a bibliography and format that ish. I'm a lazy hippie.
