Aka; an Armand playlist that only has songs from Shah Rukh Khan movies
Season 1 Episode 1: Aaya Tere Dar Par // Veer-Zaara I have broken all bonds with the world For you have come, leaving the world behind On your doorstep, your lover has come He has come, your lover has come
[Sorry for qawwali rocking. It will happen again.]
Season 1 Episode 2: Aa Tayar Hoja // Asoka Once on board the evening ship, get yourself settled in Come on, let's go! The evening shall be ecstasy The lips shall be mine but the thoughts shall be yours
[Needed at least one item number because Rashid!Armand basically served the same function as "I'm not sure what's happening here but I think I like it!"]
Season 1 Episode 3: Jaadu Teri Nazar // Darr Whether you say yes or no Whether you say yes or no Kiran, you're mine Kiran, you're mine
[Might as well throw this banger at the episode where Armand doesn't do anything but get accused of lingering.]
Season 1 Episode 4: Chaiyya Chaiyya // Dil Se Those who’ve been blessed with The shadow of love over their head, Will have heaven under their feet one day
[This claim is a little less impressive when you can float and you're immune to mediocre stars.]
Season 1 Episode 5: Chalak Chalak // Devdas This wine, this wine, yes, this wine, this wine This wine brings with itself The rain of memories It splashes and overflows This wine all around the heart
[Just here because of how often wine and blood are used as metaphors for one another and this episode has really comedically sezualized blood drinking DON'T THINK TOO HARD ABOUT HOW THE END OF THE SONG SIGNALS DOOM...]
Season 1 Episode 6: Baazigar O Baazigar // Baazigar My heart was alone You played such a game I stay up all night in your memories
[And that's a threat by the way.]
Season 1 Episode 7: Aaj Ki Raat // Don
The crazy ones are still unaware of What's going to happen tonight, What will be gained, what will be lost
[Not only is it difficult to know what Armand is doing, it's-]
Season 2 Episode 1: Tumse Milke Dil Ka // Main Hoon Na Check that! Wiiiiicked
[Or, if you prefer: "You don't know what is inside of my heart/You will remember my story."]
Season 2 Episode 2: Where's the Party Tonight // Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna The pleasant songs are playing All lovers are misled So dance all night Where's the party tonight?
[Somewhere down the road!!!... at the combination mansion and vampire all you can eat place.]
Season 2 Episode 3: Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte // Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi I wish someone would love me, even if it’s a lie Even if it’s a lie, yes even if it’s a lie In every lifetime, the colors will change We blossom behind the curtains of dreamland We are travelers on the path of love, We’ll meet again as time goes by
[There are so many bollywood songs that make me feel like I've lived through several lifetimes, especially this one.]
Season 2 Episode 4: Ishq Kameena // Shakti Love is rotten, it has broken every heart Every lover has lost out to love, love has struck me down I find no peace, love is horrible, it makes life miserable
[Good song for an episode with everyone trying and failing to be romantic.]
Season 2 Episode 5: Dard-E-Disco // Om Shanti Om Then the fountain of grief started flowing As the balloon of my dreams burst That's why I now wander London, Paris, New York, L.A. or San Fransisco In my heart is the pain of disco
[... /Mic drop]
Season 2 Episode 6: Marjaani // Billu In the presence of God, I've also made promises I've acted according to the customs of the world Still if the world doesn't understand, then punish it If it agrees with you, then reward it If this crazy world doesn't agree to it then Let the world go to hell and die
[When you are about to be unable to prevent it :(]
Season 2 Episode 7: Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om // Om Shanti The story goes that the one who recognizes the murderer, That lad has come back. It’s life’s way of telling the murderer That the shadow of death has surrounded him
[Just play this one in reverse because instead of using the trappings of theater to reveal the truth about an ingenue who was burned to death, we are using theater to conceal the truth about an ingenue who was burned to death.]
Season 2 Episode 8: Let's Break Up // Dear Zindagi Let’s break up, oh my love Agree to this We’ll never be able to make it work so let it go Let's break up!
[Yes, let's.]
#interview with the vampire#armand#devil's minion#since so many songs on here had me going ho ho he he hu hu when I reminded myself of the lyrics#if somethings isn't on here that should have been here trust me i'll be waking up in a cold sweat#all like WHY DIDNT I HAVE XYZ...#that's why you just make MORE playlists!

I just read your thoughts about Scarabia and Leona's arc development in game, and I got very interested.
There's very little info on Arabian culture online, at least that I've seen, and also African. A thing that makes me very curious is about their mythologies, folklore, and also music. We know a lot about food, since it's something so universal, but the rest is hard to get info on, unless it gets popularized or romanticized by someone else.
The scarabia arc is one of my favorites for a reason, and that is because I'm very sympathetic with Jamil, and very sad how his and Kalim's story together got so "twisted" so fast (ehe). Honestly there are so many layers to it that it would take many many chapters, and events, to close the situation. But I think it's good they left the future open like that, since it's something that can't be fixed overnight.
And also, *gets down* PLS PLS PLS PLS 🙏 I love the fluffy fics, are you going to also add Bolllywood songs? They are so good seriously it's so dancing and fun! I love Jamil so much and I MELTED with the headcanon short fic where we are taking care of him. I wanna hold his precious handsome face and just kiss it all over! He is so cute I will go FERAL-
hey qamar 💕 this was a pleasure to read! honestly, i feel like both the scarabia and savannaclaw chapters were too short? of course, we were introduced to the themes and then the whole conflict—resolution mountain for stories, however i just feel like they could have done more with the both of them.
also, i think the reason why the southwest-asian and african themes aren’t covered is because the source material is literally disney films 💀 like we get a warning before rewatching aladdin since they just now realized it was kind of racist (still a major part of my childhood though 😭 “a whole new world” in arabic is delicious). based on how yana has written other characters that are meant to be from south asia, there’s a big chance it would have been disappointing anyways.
plus, with scarabia in particular, there’s too many cultures trying to be represented due to how colonizers deemed all of the countries to be the same thing in different fonts 💀 you’d never confuse a nepali with an omani, but winston churchill sure did not care.
the original aladdin movie was meant to take place in baghdad, a city in iraq, but due to political conflicts at the time (george bush a war criminal regardless of saddam hussein’s crimes. the usa literally gave saddam weapons to kill kurds and then turned around and invaded when he wasn’t convenient anymore 💀). baghdad became agrabah—but the culture is still an amalgamation of west asian, south asian, north african, and like eurasian/turkish culture. im sure they’ve got stuff from central asia too 😭
the issue with this is that from ethnic group to ethnic group/country to country, the culture varies a lot. yemenis and palestinians are both arabs, but our cultures are vastly different, with yemenis having more eastern african influences and palestinians having mediterranean influences. i personally headcanon the scarabia duo as arab, but honestly, they could be from anywhere. for all we know, kalim is afghan and jamil is tunisian—it’s all up in the air due to the original source material. but i digress!! i rambled a lot 😭
ON THE BOLLYWOOD NOTE! omg this brought so many good memories back. we used to watch bollywood films with shitty arabic dubs 🥹 i miss those days. i love that idea and ive always wanted to write bollywood inspired fics, like based on the crazy and unrealistic romantic moments in bollywood. it’s just so much fun lmao. honestly, i think that’s a great idea especially when so many bollywood songs just lead the listener through a story anyways. im so glad you enjoy my fics!!! that’s very sweet 💕 have a great day, qamar, and take care of yourself
#🩷 — chats with amora#🌷 — politics#🧞♀️ — genie bottle asks#twisted wonderland#jamil viper#kalim al asim#orientalism#disneys aladdin#iraq#george bush is a war criminal#if the icc mattered he’d be on trial#twst x reader#jamil viper x reader#bollywood inspired fics 😭 my dream

Vedic Astrology Observations
in my previous post, i had mentioned how Uttarashada natives love grandness and glamour. the more i look into it, the more i see these natives indulge in that old world, royaltycore aesthetic. its always go big or go home for them
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for his splashy period dramas with elaborate costumes and grand set designs has Ketu in Uttarashada
Fan Bingbing who is known for her glamorous and eclectic style has Ketu in Uttarashada (she also has her moon in Revati, another nakshatra that really loves glamour)
Kim Taehyung, who is also known for his preference for vintage glamour has Mercury & Mars in Uttarashada (he also has his moon and ketu in Revati)
Dilraba Dilmurat is another celebrity who is known for her extravagant style (chinese actresses in general have a very regal, extravagant style) and she has Revati Mars as her atmakaraka (her moon is in Punarvasu, a nak known for its girly style)
2. someone previously made a post about how mrigashira natives often play the "bimbo" in movies and ive observed that this also corresponds to real life, where a lot of mrig natives are perceived to be ditzy airheads or for saying crazy insane stuff. i believe its the mars influence that makes these natives speak hastily without much thought.
(Mrigashira moon Rachel McAdams playing Regina George in Mean Girls)
Sonam Kapoor, the bollywood actress is known in the Indian media for being a ditzy airhead 🤣and she has a Mrigashira stellium
Jordan Peterson and Kanye West are both Mrigashira moon natives and they're known for saying the most batshit crazy stuff.
3. ive noticed that many filmmakers who have prominent Uttarashada placements often explore loneliness and isolation or a lack of belonging in their movies. UA being the only nakshatra to possess a mongoose yoni which means its the only nakshatra without a yoni consort could be why these natives are so desperate for connection yet lacking it.
Shunji Iwai, has UA sun, mercury and ketu (a still from his movie Love Letter)
Jim Jarmusch has UA sun and mercury. All his movies are about loneliness and being an "outsider" in one way or another.
Philip Kaufman has Uttarashada moon. Intensely sexual but unbearably lonely.
Murakami who is known for how melancholic and lonely his books are (albeit strange and wonderfully weird) has Uttarashada sun
Another very common theme is how many Uttarashada natives have strange sexual desires, weird kinks and a perverse or odd sexual life/appetite. If you're familiar with Murakami, I need not explain further xD
4. Venusian natives often allude to Venusian imagery, specifically the Birth of Venus by Botticelli in their works.
Cardi B has Revati moon (venus is exalted in pisces) and here she is wearing Thierry Mugler's Birth of Venus dress to the Grammys.
Uma Thurman (from "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen") has Bharani Sun & Saturn and Purvaphalguni Ketu and here she is playing the Goddess herself!
Aishwarya Rai has Purvaashada moon and she is wearing a dress by Gaurav Gupta that references Venus.
Lady Gaga (from her Applause mv) she has Revati Venus Atmakaraka, as we know Venus is exalted in Pisces and Venus in Revati is considered it's best position. I suggest watching the MV since its rife with pisces imagery :-)
Beyonce has Purvaphalguni sun and the deity of Purvaphalguni is Bhaga, the god of marital bliss. Beyonce's interpretation of the Birth of Venus features her with her twin babies and babies signify the consummation of a marriage, thereby making this a uniquely Purvaphalgunian take on the original.
5. This is a no-brainer but mermaids in cinema are often played by Pisces rashi natives.
Halle Bailey is a UBP sun. Lin Yun is UBP moon and saturn with Revati Ketu. Esther Williams who did a string of aquamusicals in the 1950s has Ketu in Revati.
Sade has Revati Moon & Ketu and plays a mermaid in her most popular song's mv.
Samantha Morton has UBP moon, Venus/Mars/Ketu in Revati and she plays a mermaid in U2's Electrical Storm MV.
7. (TW: sexual assault, incest)
The nakshatra most often associated with incest is Rohini and Mrigashira but I would say Ashlesha also features these themes. Growing up in a very controlling household with a cold/controlling mother figure is a huge theme in the lives of Ashlesha natives.
in Donkey Skin (1970) Catherine Deneuve plays a princess who takes the form of a donkey in order to escape from her father, the king who wishes to marry her because she looks just like her mother. This is quite literally the story of Rohini, who was Lord Brahma's favourite daughter, and he was attracted to her. Rohini sensed this and took the form of a deer and ran away. Lord Brahma subsequently assumed the form of a stag and chased her across the heavens. When Rudra found out what was happening he cut off the head of the stag. The stag’s head became the symbol of the nakshatra of Mrigashira. As we can see Rohini & Mrigashira's mythology is deeply intertwined.
Catherine Deneuve has Ashlesha moon and Mars in Mrigashira as her atmakaraka (her Saturn is also placed in Mrigashira and is her darakaraka).
If you watch the movie, you can see how its overloaded with astrological symbolism (its based on a fairytale, so thats not surprising)
the color blue is used throughout the first half of the film when the princess is in her own kingdom, traditionally blue is associated with Saturn. Shani/saturn is our karma, which teaches us things the hard way. The princess (unwillingly) has to leave the comfort of her palace and kingdom, assume the form of a donkey and go work as a pig-keeper. She loses everything she has ever known and has to work her way up from scratch, this is a typical Saturnian journey and most people experience this during their Saturn return (Saturnian folks experience this all their lives).
the color red is used throughout the second half of the movie, in association with the Prince's kingdom. Red is typically associated with Sun and Mars in vedic astrology. as the princess works out her karma and integrates her shadow, she blossoms into a fully integrated individual, this means she has cultivated her identity and the strength to act upon it. from a passive, weak willed princess in her father's castle, who was willing to marry her father due to her fear of hurting him by refusing to do so, she transforms into someone who moulds her own fate through her own actions. (Sun + Mars)
The fact that she assumes the form of a Donkey, itself is very symbolic. Donkeys, in vedic astrology is often the vehicle of Gods. Therefore, it serves as the door that governs her transition from passivity to individuation.
the Prince saw her for her true nature, although everyone around was convinced that she's just a filthy, hideous Donkey Skin clad servant. When the Prince slips her ring back on to her finger, she transforms back into her original self (true love is a mirror that reminds us of who we really are and gives us the courage to shed our worldly personas). The dress she wears then, is a golden one, originally given to her by her father when she said she wanted a dress "like the sun". Yellow is associated with Jupiter. After enduring the trials of Saturn, the Princess who became Donkey Skin, once again becomes a Princess, except now she has freedom. Saturn's teachings guide us to Jupiter's blessings. The movie's ending showing us that once the Princess had successfully overcome her trials and now embraced her true nature.

rain and mint tea and rambles
Hi maggots. It's me, thinking thoughts, again. I do that far too often.
Monsoon has begun, I do believe. The stupefying heat wave broke to let water crash onto the soil, out of which puffs the scent of petrichor. Ever so often the heat builds in the day, but yields to a thunderstorm come nightfall. Perhaps it'll only last a few weeks, but I'm so glad anyway.
I made a mug of mint tea. By which I mean I dropped a teabag into hot water, in one of the five mugs Lina bought me. I was so delighted last night when the heat slowly revealed the images of a whale emoji, a photo of me edited with Crowley's eyes, and fanart of me that said happy birthday, maggot prince with the Spotify code of a playlist you all added songs to. It's been days since my birthday, but I still keep finding bits of love that you sent my way.
I love the playlist. It's as chaotic as we are. There's Cavetown and ABBA and Queen, Bollywood dance music and sad songs and rap, Taylor Swift and a Rickroll and silly songs and Disney soundtracks.
Everything looks different in the rain. The leaves lose their dusty shroud, glittering emerald and lime and quivering in the damp breeze. The light is quieter, softer, grey. It smells of life. The sky swirls with clouds like Van Gogh tried to make art but ran out of paint, with only the greyish paintwater left.
I'm sorry about all the DMs and asks I haven't replied to yet. I swear it's not because I care. It's because I care too much, I care so much that sometimes it overwhelms me. Please don't stop sending me asks because of that, though. I promise I do read them, even if it takes a while for me to reply. You aren't bothering me. You could never. I love you too much. Be as crazy as you like. It's me.
Weirdly enough, as I wrote that paragraph, Nothing New by Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift played. "Are we only biding time 'til I lose your attention? And someone else lights up the room? People love an ingenue." "How do I go from growing up to breaking down? And I wake up in the middle of the night, it's like I can feel time moving. How can a person know everything at 18, and nothing at 22? Will you still want me, when I'm nothing new?"
It's difficult to believe I'm 20 now. That shouldn't be allowed. It's such a weird age, isn't it, 20? It's so, so young, it's so new, it's so terrifyingly timid.
I swear I knew more at 14 than I do now. I swear so many of you know so much more than I do. I don't know anything at all, most days. I don't know who I am. But you do. Thank you for bringing out not the best of me, not the worst of me, but the realest of me.
I love you. I got into art school, by the way. Life is not going the way I expected it to. And the horrors persist, trapping me in my dreams, suffocating me the way a pillow never could. But then I wake up and I think about you, and that keeps me going.
Look at you, saving a guy, every single day. How insanely wonderful.
The rain has stilled. My brother will be pleased, he bought a ticket to go to a cricket match. I think I'll go for a drive with my mum and Roxie. She loves drives. She knows them as 'car byebyes'. She sits on my lap in the front seat and looks out the window, nose sniffing and getting excited whenever I say look, a bow-wow and a dog passes.
I'll scoot now. If this long letter landed up on your dash and messed it up, I really do apologise, I try not to tag these. If you read it this far, then wow, hi. I love you. If you skipped to the end, I love you. If you don't read this, I love you. I love you all, so much.
I hope you have the loveliest of days.
I'll see you soon, maggots of mine.

Sheila Ki Jawani | Kylian Mbappé
"I know you want it, but you're never gonna get it.
Tere haath kabhi na aani
(I will never come into your hands)
Maane na maane koi duniya yeh saari,
(Whether anyone believes it or not,)
Mere ishq ki hai deewani.
(This whole world is crazy behind me.)"
The music was blasting from the Bluetooth speaker that Kylian had got you for Valentine's Day after you had complained to him that your iPhone wasn't enough to jam to your favorite songs while getting ready.
Kylian, ever the attentive one, couldn't possibly not buy his bébé anything she asked for. Carefully applying the shade Limitless on your eyelids from your Huda Beauty palette, you were jamming to one of your favorite songs of all time while getting ready for your friend's birthday party. You were so happy that Kiara decided to make it Bollywood-themed because you wanted to wear the gold saree that your mother had gotten for you from her trip to India last month.
"Ab dil karta hai haule haule se,
(Now slowly my heart wants,)
Main toh khud ko gale lagaun.
(Me to embrace myself.)"
You continued shaking your hips in a sensual motion while you curled your lashes and applied a coat of mascara. To be honest, you were running a bit late and hoped Kylian wouldn't come home too soon so you could blame any tardiness on him. As a girl, you felt that being on time was overrated; no matter how much you prepared in advance, it didn't matter. What can you say? Beauty can't be hurried.
"Kisi aur ki mujhko zaroorat kya,
(I don't need anyone else,)
Main toh khud se pyar jataun.
(I'll express my love to myself.)"
This was your favorite part of the song. While waiting for the eyelash glue to dry, you struck a pose at every line.
"What's my name?
What's my name?
What's my name?
My name is Sheila, Sheila ki jawani.
(My name is Sheila, young Sheila.)
I'm too sexy for you,
Main tere haath na aani.
(I will never come into your hands.)
No no no no Shei-"
"Having fun, mon amour?" your husband's voice cut through the music as you stood there, your index finger shaking in front of the mirror with your expression stuck in a deer caught in the headlights motion.
Smirking, your husband stood there leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed.
"Kyky! What a surprise! I didn't know you were going to be home so early!" you blushed, trying to quickly put your lashes on, while wholly ignoring the fact that you were obviously late.
"Early, bébé? Really? T'es sérieuse?" he said, raising his eyebrows and walking behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. "It's 8:00 pm, and we are supposed to leave by 8:15 pm."
"Honestly, Ky. When you really think about it, does it really matter? I mean, it's an Indian birthday party; no one's on time," you rambled on while applying your primer. "Besides, time is just a con-"
"Bébé,"
"-cept. According to Allen Bluedor, time is a result -"
"Bébé,"
"of humans interacting with each other -"
"BÉBÉ!"
"-and socialization processes," you trailed off as he spun you around in his arms and gave you a stern look that made you immediately shut up. Kylian looked positively over your antics, as his dark eyes peered into your soul. The stern press of his mouth made it clear that he was less than impressed with your incorrigible habit of not getting ready on time.
"Qu'est-ce que je t'avais dit la semaine passée quand on a failli être en retard pour la fête à ma mère?" he asked, his thumb tracing circles on your exposed hip bone. There was a predatory gleam in his eyes that had your pulse suddenly racing. A slight shiver went down your spine as you had a hard time looking into his eyes.
"Euh, que j'étais vraiment belle et que de toute façon on avait juste failli être en retard?" you said while fluttering your eyes at him. You knew you were in trouble when you felt his hands tighten around your hips, as he frowned and pursed his lips, almost surprised by your audacity.
"Et maintenant, tu mens, eh?" his growly voice sent a spark of heat into your lower belly as he slowly backed you into the counter. Feeling the edge digging into your back, you placed your hands on the planes of his chest, the soft fabric of his black kurta providing comfort despite the tension in the air.
His right hand, which was on your hip, slid up your body slowly, wrapping around your throat and giving it a light squeeze. Your breath hitched as you felt your panties dampening.
"I asked you a question, and I expect an honest answer, bébé."
"Okay, fine. You told me that if I were late one more time, you would bend me over your knees…"
"Don't get shy on me now, princesse. You've literally had my cock in your mouth."
"Oh my god, Ky. You're such a perv sometime."
"Answer me."
"You would bend me over your knees and spank my ass raw," you mumbled quickly.
"Unfortunately, mon amour, I don't have time to bend you over my knees but I'm sure this counter will do," he said while his left hand slid down your ass, giving it a possessive squeeze.
"Turn around, and bend over."
At this point, you were so turned on that you wanted him to do it, all previous traces of nervousness vanishing from your body as if it was never there in the first place. Gulping, you bit your lip, as you slowly turned around and bent over the cold countertop. you weren't wearing a bra underneath your silk robe, so your nipples were hard as they touched the cool surface.
You heard Kylian inhale sharply as he slowly lifted your flimsy robe, gradually exposing your derrière. You heard him curse as he caressed your soft flesh. A sharp smack on your ass had you whimpering as the sting left behind a film of ecstasy in your soul.
"You're going to count for me now, bébé," he said, his commanding voice slowly seducing you into submission.
"One…" The word barely left your lips when Kylian let out a snort, shaking his head not in amused disbelief at your antics. "T'es drôle. Celui-là ne compte pas."
Despite the dark lust clouding his deep brown eyes, a glint of mischief and a touch of affection shone through. You drove him absolutely mental but he loved every second of it.
"T'es méchant, tu sais," you retorted, a pout forming on your lips, challenging his authority with your audacity.
Smack.
"Deux," you said, your voice laced with defiance, determined to test his limits as the sting of his slap reverberated through you. Glancing at your reflection in the mirror, the person staring back seemed almost like a stranger. A flush of red painted your cheekbones, a vivid testament to the intensity of the moment, while your teeth sank into your plump bottom lip.
"You're such a brat. I shouldn't let you cum for a week," he admonished, his tone firm as he caressed the bruised flesh.
"No! How could you even think of doing that?" You protested breathlessly, alarmed that he would even dare deny you your pleasure.
Just as he was about to retort, the sudden ring of your phone sliced through the charged atmosphere of the room, the beginning notes of Standing Next to You breaking the intimate bubble that you were both confined in.
"Who is it, Ky?" Your voice was curious, a slight edge of impatience cutting through as you tried to peek over his shoulder at the glowing phone screen.
"Oh putain, it's Kiara."
"Oh shit, she's going to kill us. We're so late." The words tumbled out of your mouth, a laugh hiding just beneath the surface, acknowledging that your best friend was about to tear you a new one.
"I wonder whose fault that is, mon amour," Kylian smirked, his gaze teasing and accusatory all at once.
"Ugh, get over it, Ky."
Smack.
"Cheeky brat." His words were a playful growl, the affectionate smack a punctuation to your ongoing banter. "C'mon, let me help you with your saree."
"Je t'aime, bébé." you said blowing a kiss in his direction, giving him a quick peck.
He just rolled his eyes at your antics, the gesture full of love and a resigned acceptance of your playful nature.

indian!reader x eren yeager headcanons
just letting y’all know: female reader, the reader is indian. don’t wanna put all those details cause i’m lazy af so let’s just get straight to it.
• he immediately found you so attractive. he was like “wow this girl has a different vibe and i like it”
• he took a while to ask you out but y’all became friends so easily. he got to know about the guys you dated in the past which is why he didn’t ask you out immediately
• but when you guys started dating omg it was- i can’t exactly put the words together but i’ll explain.
• he went for all events that you had to attend. weddings, mehndi’s, sangeets, engagement parties, you name it, he showed up with you.
• your parents adored him‼️ sure they were a little disappointed he wasn’t indian but they loved the fact he treated you so well.
• he’s not fully familiar with your culture yet so when he saw you looking absolutely stunning and wearing a crazy but beautiful lehenga, he was worried that you were overdressed.
• you had to remind him that this was a desi event, this is in fact still not enough to overdress. and no matter how much you try, you can’t outshine the bride.
• and yes, while attending these functions he wore a kurta. and lemme tell you how hot he looked. wow. you were drooling girl.
• but that didn’t stop him from going all over you. you were the most beautiful person in his eyes.
• the one thing you dreaded in these events are the aunties who you’ve never seen in your life and they criticise you on every damn thing
• eren could see that you were uncomfortable and he was gonna say something but you stopped him and did it yourself. you put those ladies in their place and walked away
• he was so proud of you and hugged you so tightly.
• one day he was taking you out for a movie and he picked you up in his car. once you got in he literally said “hi meri jaan” (it means “hi my love”)
• the way you melted🥹 his slight german accent make it sound so cute you begged him to say it again. and when he did you were screaming in excitement.
• bollywood movie marathons. no questions asked. you will make him watch the most iconic bollywood movies.
• jab we met, dilwale dulhania le jayenge, khabi khushi khabi gham, basically all the old movies with shah rukh khan cause everyone loves him
• you got eren to start loving him by watching all these movies.
• don’t get me started on all the songs omg
• y’all go on late night drives and play bollywood item songs😭 it’s the best way to spend the night, trust me.
• he treats you so well and he loves everything about your culture and is always willing to learn something new.
• if he gets something wrong, please don’t get mad at him. he’s trying his best i promise
• but overall he’s a good bf and he loves you with his whole heart and will treat you right

HEY GIRL
Watched / read anything good recently?
was watching dungeon meshi but then that gay ahh bath scene came on and my moms in the room w me so like 💀💀💀💀 reading 1984 rn bcs assignment, im ten pages in bcs i keep fawking playing honkai star rail 😭😭😭 omg, but i was in the midst of watching dil se before i realised i was getting distracted too easily and it was keeping me from enjoying it properly. was only watching it bcs i couldnt find bombay (1995, not the city 💀💀) anywhere. probs bcs nobody gaf abt archiving desi movies 😭😭😭😭 its tough out here, but like for dil se honestly i rlly liked the screenplay and the way it was directed even tho like . i literally only got to the first song of the film 💀💀 even then. also oh my god srk has not a SINGLE dancing bone in his body like ive bitched abt it before but oml hrithik roshan and tiger shroff are actually carrying the reputation of bollywood's male actor's dancing abilities on their back....now if only theyd stop FAWKING taking up propaganda films 😭😭😭
i actually kinda need to leave a separate paragraph for how bad srk dances like its not just when he was young...in chaiyya chaiyya literally EVERYBODY is on beat except him....and it KEELS me because ure telling me u cant keep tempo ??? brother 😭😭😭😭😭 but ok even in the present like, he stays on beat (barely) but hes SO STIFF?? i like saw some clip of him dancing with an actress, it mightve been deepika padukone in happy new year ??? oh my god it was SO bad. he was SO stiff. it KILLED me. bollywood actress go through HELL but sanjay dutt srk and a bunch of other male actors get away with not being able to dance well 😭😭😭😭 my queen kareena kapoor took dance classes before filming k3g yet srk and amitabh bacchan got away w shava shava....Sick and Twisted world we live in like....anyway i actually dk if thalapthy vijay is a bhakt but this is y he solos even tho i have verithanam trauma....sings n dances well etc, this is y bollywood flops consistently actually
pls take that paragraph lightheartedly if ure desi 💔 ok anyway
the god of small things by arundhati roy is good....i only read like 20 pages tho but ik plot 💀💀💀💀 i think the seven moons of maali almeida might also b good, its by shehan karunatilaka
ok last unfinished thing im gna recommend....Hot Tkae but....i liked saltburn...i still have the 2nd half of the movie to finish (stopped some time after the reveal) but again, ik the plot 😭 i still have some problems w it tho but its not rlly abt the hypersexuality. cinematography fucked. 4:3 aspect ratio choice? ATE. SO BADD. but ill also need to finish the film. but tbh its obsessed boy x rich boy trope wasnt rlly handled well in my opinion, micah nemerever's these violent delights solos in that area. and i think the story is flawed
ok NOW. i liked fleabag. actually i LOVED fleabag. think its a masterpiece. both seasons but esp the 2nd one (felt more refined but compared to other shows, s1 SOLOS). the boys s4 is dropping!! invincible s2 was alr i bet the animation studio suffered hard tho bcs wtf was that style change mid season 😭😭😭. and i don't rlly think the direction in which Nolan's character arc is gna go to will turn out that great? also, i loved gerta gerwig's ladybug! its actually crazy how she made ladybug and barbie both . one is amazing. the other is well uhm.
oh also i liked inglourious basterds and pulp fiction . quentin tarantino kinda looks like a walking talking serial killer mugshot tho i saw an interview where he was asked why kill bill had so much violence and was honestly surprised by how girlypop he was. not forgetting him choking diane kruger on set tho !
watched batman begins. it was aight 😭 rewatched matt reeves' batman right after. liked it betterr. i LOVEDDD heartbreak high, s1 and s2 !! usually with shows i only like s1 best, but w heartbreak high i literally ADOREDDD s2, the finale was so good !!! im also watching the gentlemen (the show) rn, and i rllyyy like it hehe. tried watching tick tick boom again bcs I'd actually dropped it midway when it had first released bcs that one scene where she was like "you're thinking of a song rn aren't you" was so stress inducing that I had 2 click away 💀💀 n then i forgot abt it. picked it up again and omg it's actually so good how did I miss it the first time 😭😭😭
oh yeah I also liked the fall of the house of usher . also ! another incompleted thing but im also in the midst of watching the three of us (film). its so good !! i loved the atmosphere and cast performances can't wait 2 see how it turns out :))

There's fun bits, for sure. Sohail/Isha's story is, while (quite) a bit ridiculous, fun. Also, way too short - they're barely there. John/Vidya's story is sad, but there's interspersed comedy which is fun. Govinda's story has also got it's moments. Unfortunately, even with a near 4-hour run-time, there isn't enough time to really introduce many of our characters beyond simple trait or two (doesn't clean up after himself, but is truly in love; ass; ass; super ass; daft; horny; brainwashed by the patriarchy; clueless; unlucky enough to be in 2 big accidents).
The Priyanka/Salman story is probably a bit ridiculous, but is also very "showbiz". At least Tinu Anand's character isn't a complete ass. The Ayesha/Akshay story feels very similar to Shaadi Se Pehle, which released the year before this movie. And not in a good way (I did enjoy that movie, at least in parts) - he just seems like a hammy character who doesn't really deserve the happy ending he gets.
That the Juhi/Anil story ended the way it did, with her essentially ignoring everything for the sake of family, feels exactly like the ending we got from the Shilpa/Shiny/Kay Kay story from Life in a ... Metro (which, like Salaam-e-Ishq, also released in 2007) and is, quite honestly, frustrating/disappointing and, probably, very much Bollywood/cultural bowing down to "marriage" and "family." Like, I get it, but ... she deserves better. The idea that her entire happiness revolves entirely around his happiness and she just has to ignore everything (luckily for her, she wasn't there to watch that disaster of 'creepy clean-shaven Anil dances at a bar') is ridiculous. She should've left him.
Also, that plane thing - it's 2007! How the fuck is he running through the gateway into a boarded plane ... and they let him have a full on conversation with her? Like, that should be impossible - Bollywood romanticization of last-second airplane scenes or not. Catch the next flight, asshat. Hell, earlier, you even fucking lied to your kids. Also, don't they close the doors at the gate once the airplane is boarded? He would've needed one of their passes/codes to open that. Everyone at the airplane failed there, if we're being honest.
I think if we rated the stories in terms of just overall fun/best story, it'd be: 1) John/Vidya (for a touch of drama, without being overly crazy), 2) Govinda/Shannon Esra (I get why he didn't tell her, but also, like, tell her, you daft fool!), 3) Sohail/Isha (we needed more of them, but also, like, there's no story here at all; it entirely depends on you being able to laugh at his/their misery), 4) Priyanka/Salman (there is some emotion/humanity that they come close to hitting here, but the background just makes the whole thing kinda creepy), 5) Ayesha/Akshaye (Ayesha deserves better; Akshaye's a loser, but the other guy she was going to marry is somehow worse), and 6) Juhi/Anjana/Anil (yikes; no; yuck).
Speaking of Ayesha's suitors - how the fuck does she see this whole thing unfold with groom and Stephanie and then just be like "yeah, lets continue." And how does her father, or mother, or sister, or brother-in-law (the ass that Anil is, even he should know better) not just be like "wait, no, don't."? Not one person is willing to step up and be like "this is a mistake" - Ayesha's character needs to scrap everyone in her life and start over, now.
And then, mid-wedding, Priyanka and Salman decide "eh, let's just have a full heart-to-heart (and propose!), while everyone at the wedding is waiting for us to finish so they can finish their 7 pheres." What a disaster.
At least the songs are good - but honestly, while they do go on for a bit (and, early on, come in quick succession), for a nearly 4-hour movie, one could argue that there aren't enough songs. I do love them all though, especially the title song, Mera Dil, and Tenu Leke.
In terms of "massive cast/multistory" films in 2007, Honeymoon Travels was undoubtedly better (even with the random foray into the supernatural/superpowers), and apparently Just Married (which I haven't seen yet) was also better (I believe it). A big starcast is nice, but it can't save a movie where we have little plot and even less character building.

Act 1: Establishing the Connection Scene 13: Bill Meets Amy (Street/NYC Café – Day) (Bill is walking down a busy NYC street and runs into Amy.)
Bill: Amy? Is that you?
Amy: Bill! It’s been so long!
Bill: (Laughs) Yeah, how’ve you been?
Amy: Good. Busy, as usual. it’s crazy running into you like this!
Bill: Yep, same here. You?
Amy: Actually, I’m working on a musical project. Want to grab a coffee and catch up sometime later ?
Bill: Sure, let’s do it.
amy i will text u .
Scene: Amy and Bill Visit an Art Exhibit (Art Gallery – Evening) (Amy and Bill walk through an art gallery, looking at abstract paintings.)
Amy: I don’t get these paintings. Just random colors.
Bill: (Laughs) Maybe chaos is the art.
Amy: (Smirking) Says the guy writing a solo show about chaos.
Bill: (Touching his chest, mock hurt) Hey, my chaos has meaning!
Amy: (Laughs) Glad we’re having fun, away from auditions for once.
Bill: (Nods) Yeah, we needed this.
Scene 14: Amy and Bill Discuss the Hindi Musical (Street/Café – Day) (The next day, Amy and Bill are seated at a cozy café booth.)
Amy: The musical I’m working on has bollywood influences. It’s about finding hope in chaos.
Bill: Sounds amazing. I’d love to audition!
Amy: You’d be perfect for it.
Bill: (Smiling) Thanks. I’m also working on something—a solo show.
Amy: Really? What’s it about?
Bill: It’s my story as an actor—the ups and downs. Still rough, but I want it to be raw.
Amy: I love it. Let me know if you need help.
Bill: I will. And I’ll love to read your musical script too.
(They clink coffee mugs, smiling.)
Scene 6: Collaborative Scriptwork (Studio Space – Day) (Amy and Bill are in a studio, working on the musical script.) Bill: (Applauding) That was incredible, Amy.
Amy: (Smiling) Thanks. It’s the opening song for the musical.
Bill: It’s powerful. Maybe hold the last note longer.
Bill: (Pointing to a line) What if we use “Dil se” here instead of “From the heart”?
Amy: Good idea. More authentic.
Bill: How’s it going with the musical?
Amy: Act 2 needs work, but it’s getting there. What about your solo show?
Bill: Slow progress. I want it to be personal but relatable.
Amy: You’ll get there. Let’s keep pushing each other.
Bill: Deal.
////
Act 2: Bonding and Tension Scene: Amy and Bill Discuss Rejection Over Drinks (Bar – Evening) (Amy and Bill sit at a bar, sharing drinks.)
Bill: And then they said, "You’re not what we’re looking for." No explanation.
Amy: (Laughs) Classic. They love keeping it vague.
Bill: You make it sound easy, but it’s not.
Amy: No, it’s tough. But your solo show gives you control.
Bill: Yeah, but I feel like I’m trying to prove myself all the time.
Amy: That’s why it matters, Bill. Keep at it.
Bill: (Softly) Thanks, Amy.
Scene 44: Bill and Amy Catch Up (Coffee Shop – Day) (Bill and Amy sit at a cozy coffee shop.)
Amy: How’s the solo show?
Bill: Slow. It’s not coming together like I imagined.
Amy: It’s always messy in the beginning. Keep pushing.
Bill: I will. How’s the musical?
Amy: Struggling with the ending, but I’ll get there.
Bill: You always do.
Scene 7: Rehearsal and Argument (Theater – Afternoon) (Amy and Bill are rehearsing a scene from the musical.)
Bill: We need more here—props, maybe LED screens.
Amy: No, it’s about authenticity, not spectacle.
Bill: But we need to attract an audience.
Amy: I won’t compromise the message.
Bill: (Sighs) I just don’t want to fail.
Amy: We need balance, Bill.
Scene 8: Confronting Fallout (NYC Street – Day) (Amy and Bill walk down a busy NYC street, tension still present.)
Amy: Why didn’t you tell me you were struggling?
Bill: I didn’t want you to think it was just about the money. I have debts, family issues…
Amy: I get it, but we can’t let this ruin everything.
Bill: I know. I’m sorry.
Amy: Me too. Let’s fix this together.
Scene: Amy Shares Her Own Doubts (Riverside Park – Day) (Amy and Bill walk through Riverside Park.)
Amy: Sometimes, I doubt if I can pull off this musical.
Bill: You’re the most talented person I know, Amy. Don’t doubt yourself now.
Amy: It feels bigger than me.
Bill: That’s what makes it worth doing. You’re not alone—I’m here.
Amy: (Smiling) Thanks, Bill.
Bill: We’ll make this work.
/////
Act 3: Rekindling Hope and Partnership Scene: Amy Helps Bill Rehearse (Amy’s Apartment – Day) (Bill is pacing in Amy’s living room, trying to perform a monologue from his solo show.)
Amy: You’re holding back, Bill. Feel the words.
Bill: (Frustrated) It’s not coming out right.
Amy: Close your eyes. Think of your most vulnerable moment, then try again.
Bill: (Takes a deep breath, delivers a more intense performance)
Amy: That’s it. That’s what you need.
Bill: (Relieved) Thanks, Amy.
Scene: Amy Introduces Bill to Her Producer Friend (Café – Day) (Amy and Bill sit across from a producer at a café.)
Producer: I’m not sure this fits what we’re looking for.
Bill: (Disappointed) Got it. Thanks for your time.
(The producer leaves, and Bill looks deflated.)
Amy: Don’t worry. We’ll find the right person.
Bill: Feels like I’m just hitting walls.
Amy: It’s just a detour, not a dead end.
Bill: (Smiles) Thanks for sticking by me.
Scene: Amy and Bill Visit an Art Exhibit (Art Gallery – Evening) (Amy and Bill wander through an art gallery.)
Amy: These paintings just look like random colors.
Bill: (Laughs) Sometimes chaos is the art.
Amy: (Smiling) You and your solo show about chaos.
Bill: (Mock hurt) Hey, my chaos has meaning!
Amy: (Laughs) Glad we’re taking a break from all the stress.
Bill: (Nods) Yeah, we needed this.
Scene 45: Bill Shows Amy the Theater (Small Theater – Day) (Bill takes Amy to a small, intimate theater.)
Bill: This is where I’ll do my solo show.
Amy: (Looking around, smiling) It’s perfect. It’s got heart, just like your story.
Bill: You really think so?
Amy: Absolutely. You’re going to own this stage.
Bill: (Smiling) Thanks, Amy.
Scene 75: Bill with Amy – Promenade – Night (Support System Solidified) (Amy and Bill walk along Brooklyn Promenade, gazing at the skyline.)
Bill: Feels like I’m still far from where I want to be.
Amy: Look how far you’ve come. You built something from scratch.
Bill: It’s hard not to feel behind.
Amy: You’re moving forward, even if it’s slow. We’re in this together.
Bill: (Touched) Thanks, Amy. I couldn’t have done it without you.
Scene: Amy and Bill Share a Quiet Moment (Small Theater – Night) (Bill and Amy sit in an empty theater, looking at the stage.)
Amy: It’s surreal how much we’ve done.
Bill: Sometimes I wonder if it’s all worth it.
Amy: It is. The struggle makes the victory sweeter.
Bill: (Smiling) You’re right. I’m glad we stuck with it.
Amy: Me too. No matter what happens, I’m proud of us.
Bill: (Softly) Me too.
(They sit quietly, appreciating how far they’ve come.)
////////////////////
Act 3: Rekindling Hope and Partnership Scene: Amy Helps Bill Rehearse (Amy’s Apartment – Day) (Bill is pacing in Amy’s living room, attempting to perform a monologue from his solo show. He’s visibly tense.)
Amy: (Watching closely) You’re holding back, Bill. You need to let go and really connect with the words.
Bill: (Frustrated) I’m trying, but I just can’t seem to get it right.
Amy: (Stepping forward) Close your eyes. Picture the moment that makes you feel the most vulnerable. Now, say the lines again.
Bill: (Takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, then delivers the monologue with more intensity)
Amy: (Nods, satisfied) That’s it, Bill. That’s what I’m talking about.
Bill: (Exhales, relieved) Thanks, Amy. I needed that push.
Amy: (Smiling) You’ve got this. You just have to trust yourself.
Scene: Amy and Bill Visit an Art Exhibit (Art Gallery – Evening) (Amy and Bill wander through an art gallery, taking in abstract paintings.)
Amy: (Laughing) I never understand half of these paintings. It’s just a bunch of colors thrown together.
Bill: (Playfully) Well, maybe that’s the point. Sometimes chaos is the art.
Amy: (Smirking) Says the man who’s writing a solo show about chaos.
Bill: (Touches his chest, mock hurt) Hey, my chaos has a purpose!
Amy: (Laughs) I know it does. It’s just nice to have moments like this, where we’re not stressing about shows or auditions.
Bill: (Pauses, then nods) Yeah, it really is. I think we both needed this.
Scene: Amy Introduces Bill to Her Producer Friend (Café – Day) (Amy and Bill sit across from a producer in a trendy café. The conversation feels a bit awkward.)
Producer: I appreciate the passion, but I’m not sure it’s the right fit for what we’re looking for.
Bill: (Trying to mask disappointment) I understand. Thanks for your time.
(The producer leaves, and Bill slumps in his seat.)
Amy: (Reassuring) Hey, don’t let this discourage you. We’ll find someone who sees your talent.
Bill: (Sighs) It just feels like every opportunity ends up being a dead end.
Amy: (Determined) It’s not a dead end—it’s just a detour. We’ll keep pushing until we find the right person. You’ve come too far to give up now.
Bill: (With a faint smile) You’re right. I’m grateful for you, Amy.
Amy: (Smiling back) Always, Bill.
Scene 45: Bill Shows Amy the Theater (Small Theater – Day) (Bill takes Amy to a small, intimate theater, with rows of worn-out seats and a small stage.)
Bill: (Excited) This is where I’m planning to perform my solo show.
Amy: (Looking around, smiling) It’s perfect, Bill. It’s got that intimate vibe where your story will really connect with people.
Bill: (With uncertainty) You think so?
Amy: Absolutely. This place has soul—just like your show.
Bill: (Smiling, feeling reassured) Thanks, Amy. I wasn’t sure, but hearing you say it makes it feel real.
Amy: It is real, Bill. And you’re going to own that stage.
Scene 75: Bill with Amy – Promenade – Night (Support System Solidified) (Amy and Bill walk along the moonlit Brooklyn Promenade, gazing at the Manhattan skyline.)
Bill: (Sighs) I still feel like I’m miles away from where I want to be.
Amy: (Pauses, then stops walking) But look how far you’ve come. You’ve created something from scratch, Bill. That’s huge.
Bill: (Smiling) I know, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that I’m still falling short.
Amy: (Places a hand on his shoulder) You’re not falling short. You’re climbing, step by step. And even if it’s slow, you’re moving forward.
Bill: (Touched) Thanks, Amy. I don’t think I’d have made it this far without you.
Amy: (Smiling) And I wouldn’t have made it this far without you, either. We’re in this together, remember?
Scene: Amy and Bill Share a Quiet Moment (Small Theater – Night) (Bill and Amy sit together in an empty theater, staring at the stage.)
Amy: (Quietly) It’s kind of surreal, isn’t it? How much we’ve put into this.
Bill: (Nods) Yeah. Sometimes I wonder if all the struggle is worth it.
Amy: (Looking at him) It is, Bill. The struggle is part of what makes the victory so sweet.
Bill: (Smiling) I guess you’re right. I’m glad we stuck with it.
Amy: Me too. And no matter what happens, I’m proud of what we’ve built.
Bill: (Softly) Me too, Amy. Me too.
(They sit in comfortable silence, reflecting on how far they’ve come and looking ahead to what’s next.)

A list of notable acts at my Catholic College’s talent show
1. the PDP (Priestly Discernment Program) doing a cover of “Circle of Life” from Lion King renamed “Religious Life”.
2. A cover of “My Heart Will Go On” where instead of singing they played kazoos and a guy in a neon green morph suit stood behind them holding a paper titanic which he then ripped in half. The Jack doll was chucked across the stage.
3. A guy singing a shockingly-good rendition of “O Sole Mio”. His voice broke on one single high note and he went “oops” and hit it.
4. A magician who was supposed to do a trick with a bandanna. Did it with a banana instead. It still worked.
5. “The Cheesecake Song”, an original which included the gem of a chorus: “Some girls like boys, and some boys like girls, but as for me...I like cheesecake” and also a point where she stopped singing about how cheesecake never let her down to say “Unlike some people”.
6. Two Indian girls doing a Bollywood dance and halfway through RIPPED off their skirts to reveal golden...belts? Tiny skirts? idk but they jingled. (also leggings bc Catholic school lmao) The hips were MOVING.
7. A group of five guys who did an impressive dance number and all wore jackets for the sole purpose of taking them off sexily on stage during a mini solo.
8. LAST BUT MOST DEFINITELY BEST: Steve from the cafeteria who is the nicest, most amazing guy ever and sang an original song and had the entire school on their feet and chanting his name.
(honorable mention to the guys who pulled over as we were walking to the dorm to ask if there was anything going on on campus. No, we weren’t lying and you are a fool to think we have enough friends to be invited to afterparties. Also your backward hat is stupid, it’s dark out.)
