do u guys ever think about how the 'better safe than sorry/trust your gut' mindset when it comes to evaluating how dangerous people (especially strangers) are is mostly just willfully letting your knee-jerk biases against certain people take precedent over fair and rational risk analysis? i think about that a lot.

#like i hate to break it to some of you but your intuition is just as fallible as the rest of your brain 😭#moreso even‚ because subconscious processes can't be paused and checked for accuracy #intuition is just subconscious pattern recognition. peoples 'vibes' are just the way that you personally feel around them #we all see the AI thing rn. we all know how inaccurate to current reality and biased pattern recognition can be #if you're accurately identifying that someone is a risk to you #there should be at least one specific thing they're doing that suggests possible intent to hurt you #if there's none and you just think that the way they look or move or smell or talk to themselves is creepy or threatening #you're just projecting racism or classism or ableism onto strangers.
