i was tagged by @sophiainspace - thank you :D
Favorite colour: Green!! (forest green specifically, I’m not a heathen)
Currently reading: Hoo boy are you ready for The List? once again i am incapable of doing one thing at once so here’s all the books i’m midway through right now:
- if this gets out by cale dietrich and sophie gonzales (YA about queer boybanders in a secret relationship. my past one direction blogging, larry stylinson shipping teenage self is quaking in her boots. i have a dark past).
- the awkward truth by lee winter. (sapphic romance between a high-flying lawyer and a butch vet. sidequel to my favourite lesbian romance of all time.)
- greek mythology: the gods, goddesses, and heroes’ handbook by liv albert (for research purposes. also the art is very pretty)
- time is a mother by ocean vuong (poetry collection that comes out next year which i was lucky enough to get an arc of. ocean vuong is the poetry king)
- night sky with exit wounds by ocean vuong (ocean’s first poetry collection which i’m rereading to compare it to time is a mother)
i’m also midway through rereading the skulduggery pleasant series by derek landy (skeleton detective does crime, solves magic and battles gods); i just finished mortal coil, which is book 6 of like... 14, i think? the last book comes out in june so i wanna finish rereading them all before then. and i also started the love hypothesis by ali hazelwood but i got bored and put it down for now
Last series: i’m currently watching the witcher for the first time and *softly* oh no, there are already geraskier fics in my head scratching to be let in (is that even their ship name? i just made that up). me and sib finally finished s5 of supernatural (rewatch for me, their first time.) other than that i think the last new show i watched was chicago med, which is a terrible hospital drama that you absolutely should not watch, about a group of doctors who are all bad at their jobs and have sex with each other. it’s terrible and i like it very much.
Last movie: i just rewatched venom: let there be carnage. god, i love that movie. i appreciate how short it is. also venom and eddie are so married. i want what they have
Sweet, savoury or spicy? Savoury, always, i am a crisp-munching goblin
Currently working on: *cackles* again, how long have you got?
i’m trying to restrain myself to working on just 1-2 things at a time with limited success.
first is my romance novel, kiss, marry, kill, which is about married lesbian assassins who decide to kill each other instead of getting a divorce, and then end up falling back in love instead. i WILL finish it in 2022 or die trying
in terms of fics i recently got back into doctor who, specifically the 1970s era with lis sladen, so i’m working on a rewrite of the 2006/7 episode ‘school reunion’ but if the fourth doctor had shown up at deffry vale high school and ran into an older sarah jane smith instead of the tenth doctor. that’s my current fic priority
as for coldflash fics i have no idea what’s coming up next, i’m just gonna start pulling wips out of the jar of doom, but i do really wanna finish my coldstantine fic and also that barry/jefferson pierce bdsm...
#thanks for the tag soph!! :D#we all know i have a weird thing about tagging ppl but consider yourselves tagged cos i am nosy

about the cole caufield thing, holy fucking shit...
I can’t say i’m surprised, but at the same time, i don’t wanna sound disrespectful, i just wanna be honest: what’s the weird obsession of digging through a player’s social media to nitpick something wrong they did years ago and bringing it up TODAY to make people dislike them? Don’t get me wrong, i’m absolutely NOT excusing what he did bc it was stupid and he should’ve know better and people who make any type of bigoted comments today deserve ALL the criticism they get. But what do ppl gain from digging through someone’s trash for something stupid they did in the past? And how is this progress? Are people not allowed to grow and educate themselves for their mistakes? Again, i don’t wanna sound disrespectful and i’m NOT excusing what he did, but i really hope Caufield grows aware of this, if he hasn’t already, and apologizes and owns up to it.
I'm sorry, I'm not answering this again. If you go through my “hockey culture” tag or simply use google you can find it. I'm not gonna keep repeating myself all the time. I don't follow cole, nor I know a thing about him (that is: I had no idea the picture was old), but since someone brought it up why ignore it???? Should we forget all the bad things that happened in the past just because they happened in the past?! Yall just angry cuz some of you still have trouble understanding that acknowledgment (not only to famous ppl, but ppl in general) is different from canceling them. White people don't like to feel uncomfortable or to think that someone they like might’ve done something wrong (which all of us did considering we’re humans - the difference is some of us own up to it and apologize). Some of you are so hung up on the idea that life is made by good x bad that you don't understand that when we point problematic stuff (particularly from the past) we’re not saying that the person is 100% bad (of course it depends on the situation duh), but yall should question different stuff instead of questioning people who are trying to change this shitty culture we have. You spend so much time going after blogs that are dissecting those issues instead of supporting them and educating yourselves. So here’s my question: how are you so privileged that you can't see that this isn't about “making people dislike” someone, but addressing important issues that yall always try to avoid?
#i hope i don't sound disrespectful too#im just tired of the same question all the time#every time some player turns out to be problematic you guys come to me as if i did the bad thing pointing that out#honestly.......#we need to do better guys#hockey culture#mel answers#.habs#cole caufield
