wayfinder trio agere headcannons! sorry for any spelling errors!
terra has no cg/r lean, he's just vibing
i cant just forget about the wayfinder trio! theyre all flips, terras a flip, aquas a flip, ventus is a flips. chirithy doesnt count but they dont mind looking after one of the trio members until someone came back to take care of them. but here we go!
Terra
terra is a very laid-back caregiver, he has few rules and he's very playful!
his favorite thing to do, whether he's regressed or caring, is to either play pretend or read story books! he's always been a good actor so he impliements that well into both activities
he's not the best craftsman lol! but that doesn't mean his caregivers dont gush about his artwork and try to let them hang it on their fridge!
Aqua
aqua has a regressor lean! shes more independent when shes regressed but she thoroughly enjoys the time she spends with her caregivers
she LOOOOOVES baking, especially with ven
she also loves spending time with ven, be it as a regressed playdate or just aqua hanging out with her brother
and of course, during playdates, terra is more than happy to watch over them or sometimes even join them!
Ven
ven has the sliiiightest cg lean. he enjoys looking after terra and aqua, they angels most of the time
ven is a middle, he regresses to an older age. he doesnt like most of the younger activities that the others like (except baking, that means he gets to bake with aqua and eho could say no to that??)
ven looooves video games, roxas introduced them to him and he often has sleepovers with roxas and xion and they treat him like their little brother
while aqua, terra, and ven mostly take care of each other, roxas and xion usually enjoy watching over ven a lot too
ven is more secretive about his regression. he's just not fond of everyone knowing, thats all.

KH3 Retrospective
I can’t believe it’s been four years already since KH3 came out. It both feels like it came out ages ago and just last month. Above was the very first screenshot I took as I started my playthrough. I was so awed by how good the textures for the stained glass on the Station of Awakening looked.
Something I did while I was playing KH3 was create a little Google doc of my first reactions/impressions (as well as spamming the screenshot button lol). Here was from the first page:
New version of Dearly Beloved is gorgeous - sounds similar to DDD version a little
Sora’s opening line is so good - Kairi is his home
Opening - Kairi and Sora’s chess pieces by each other
Kairi’s piece is the paopu piece
Riku looks gorgeous
Everyone looks beautiful
The door opening to save everyone there at the end
Seven hearts to save
Sora’s holding Xehanort’s piece at the end - checkmate?
Station of Awakening is GORGEOUS - looks like actual stained glass now
Showing Sora’s memories
Wisdom, vitality, balance - which one?!
I chose balance (yay SDG!)
Guardian, Warrior, Mystic
I chose Guardian (yay Namine!)
Tidal wave, then Sora ended up in cloud world
Destati sounds awesome
Sora’s opening lines are so good
Mysterious Tower music sounds so good
Cable Town looked gorgeous - Land of Departure?
Sora’s theme sounds kickass
Ending scenes from 0.2 played again to catch you up to speed on SDG
Next year for the fifth anniversary I want to share more of the document, perhaps in a more organized fashion (I also had a reaction document for ReMind and Melody of Memory that I might share excerpts from in the future). It’s just such a neat little time capsule of my immediate first reactions to everything, and while I had to use the pause button a lot, it’s fun to look back on what I was thinking in the moment before my later thoughts/perceptions took over. Definitely worth the time it took to record everything.
For KH4 I want to continue the trend, as it also makes for a fun way to share the first playthrough experience with my friends and it makes it easier to write analysis posts later on.
Summarizing my thoughts now on KH3:
The good: Beautiful graphics, world environments were a huge upgrade, the music was amazing, the humor in the Disney worlds was really good, Olympus Coliseum, Kingdom of Corona (the dancing minigame!), The Caribbean, San Fransokyo, Wayfinder Trio Reunion, Xion’s return, Roxas’s return, all the heartfelt Sora and Kairi moments, Young Xehanort, the Keyblade transformations, having more than two people in your party at a time now, the Luxu reveal.
The bad: No true midpoint to the game, no FF characters, the climax was rushed, wish Naminé was more involved, the way Kairi got “killed” was super bleh, and I’m still not a fan of the original ending (the secret ending excluding Kairi also made me ehhhhhh).
And this leads me into another part of the document. When I consume a piece of media, I like to think about what worked well and why. It’s just really fun to celebrate good writing and learn from it, you know? Hence all the translation/analysis posts I’ve done of certain scenes from KH3. I also like to figure out how I would “fix” anything that didn’t land for me because it’s also a good learning experience, and at the end of my initial thoughts document, I actually included a list of things I thought would improve the writing of KH3. Of course, this is all based on my own personal feelings/interpretations, and as it stands, ReMind fixed a number of them anyway. But I thought I’d share my initial “fixes” in bold and then my thoughts about them now.
Writing Changes:
Have Sora think about Kairi a la KH2 - Flynn/Rapunzel, Will/Elizabeth… - this isn’t really going to be changed at this point for obvious reasons, but I missed the little moments where Sora was thinking of Kairi in KH2 (like when Will and Elizabeth hugged, when he saw Jack and Sally dancing, etc.) and thought those would have strengthened the romantic plotline of KH3.
Sora’s reunion with Riku was anticlimactic - ditto, not gonna be updated at this point, but I remember thinking oh that’s it lol when technically we hadn’t seen them onscreen together since 2012 (trailers notwithstanding). In universe it makes sense though because it hasn’t been that long since they’ve seen each other. Plus, I assume their reunion in KH4 will be good, so I’m looking forward to that.
Sora’s reunion with Kairi was also anticlimactic - see above, not gonna get changed at this point, but I wish they’d gotten a moment together before the big group meetup or at least him reacting to seeing her again. We hadn’t seen them talk directly since Blank Points I think? (trailers notwithstanding). So yeah I was a little disappointed there wasn’t more to their reunion, and again I think a little moment or brief scene that could’ve built up to the paopu fruit more. And at this point in the game I definitely got the feeling that Nomura was rushing to finish before deadlines hit + the burnout was setting in and he couldn’t spare any time to extras like this, just the core scenes that had to be there (group meetup, Aqua and Ven convo about Terra, Riku and Repliku scene, Kairi and Sora paopu sharing scene). He might have also had to do a bunch of last minute rewrites, who knows.
Have Kairi actually send her letter to Sora - I assume this will happen at a later date, looking back now it feels like foreshadowing, so I’m not sure why I complained about this lol. I do think at some point Sora will read the letter because why go to all that trouble of showing Kairi writing it + having her read it to the audience if it won’t be significant down the line? The focus on Sora’s smile makes me think he might get the letter when he’s feeling really down and needs to be cheered up, but we’ll see.
Have Sora have some way of contacting her like he can contact Riku - Yeah idk Square acts allergic sometimes to the love interests contacting the main character (see FFXV...), and in universe she was training with Merlin and Axel in a place where time flowed differently etc. so I get why she didn’t. Again I was just thinking of ways the paopu scene could’ve been built up to more effectively within KH3 itself (obviously the paopu scene has been foreshadowed since KH1 so that wasn’t my issue, more that I wanted more buildup within KH3 that built on the buildup we saw in KH1 and KH2 and Blank Points).
Keep Kairi getting killed… but have it be because she was protecting Sora of her own free volition - Yeah I’m still not happy about how this was handled. ReMind helped make this more tolerable because she did get to fight Xehanort by Sora’s side, but I still think her “death” could’ve been handled a lot better. And that’s all I’ll say about that lol, it’s a topic that’s been discussed to death at this point.
Go into more depth about what YX said - I think this was about all of Young Xehanort’s cryptic foreshadowing to Sora, I honestly can’t remember lol. But I do think, now that I’ve replayed the game, the foreshadowing works well, so I think this was more of an initial reaction on my part.
Show Sora going to rescue her - This was one of my biggest issues with how KH3 originally ended, and I remember feeling robbed that we didn’t get to see Sora’s rescue mission of Kairi, but little did I know what Nomura had in store lol. ReMind more than fixed this, and I will be forever grateful to it and to Nomura for knowing how important this was and making sure it was added to the story. ReMind elevated KH3 so much for me, and looking back, I really do think Nomura was making the best of a bad situation (engine switch a year into development, tight deadlines, Disney being strict, serious burnout, sky high expectations...) with vanilla KH3, and I hope he gets the development time he needs to tell the story he wants to tell with KH4. I just remember reading some of his interviews post-KH3 and you could tell how exhausted and burnt out he was, and I really hope he doesn’t go through that again.
End things on a less gutpunch of an ending - I know some people loved KH3′s ending so this is subjective, but I did not lol. Thankfully, ReMind fixed this and made the ending more bittersweet now that we’ve seen Sora rescuing Kairi. It feels much better knowing he got those moments with her traveling the worlds before he disappeared.
Roxas and Sora barely interacted - ReMind fixed this too (noticing a pattern here?) I was really happy with the additional screentime they got in ReMind together because honestly, their relationship is one of my favorites in the entire series.
Sora still hasn’t thanked Namine - I assume this will happen at a later date, I just remember thinking poor Naminé hadn’t gotten thanked yet. But I do think Nomura has something specific in mind for this scene and we will see it at some future date. So less of a “this should’ve been in KH3″ thing and more “oh bummer I’ll have to wait a while yet to see this.”
Xehanort got off easy - I think this whole plot point was a victim of the rushed pacing that impacted both the climax and ending of KH3. I remember thinking to myself that Xehanort should not have gotten to die and go to Keyblade Heaven with Eraqus in the same game where he “killed” the protagonist’s girlfriend (which resulted in the protagonist’s “death”) especially not so soon after it happened. But in a way it’s also kind of realistic? The bad guy doesn’t always get what he deserves in real life, so I can see why Nomura took this angle here (though I would argue that in stories you can show good triumphing over evil and in fact people tend to want that more than realism due to the escapist nature of fiction). Then again, I’m kind of biased because I’m not a fan in general of turning Xehanort from a main villain to a misunderstood guy with an angsty backstory who was manipulated by the True Big Bad. I get the feeling we haven’t seen the last of him given that art of his younger self with an umbrella that came out for Dark Road’s ending, so I’m bracing myself for him to show up in Quadratum and team up with Sora, and meh, I just wish the series would move past him at this point, you know?
Destiny Trio still not a trio :( - fix that - I do hope that we get more Destiny Trio interactions in KH4, but looking back, I kinda get why there wasn’t a whole lot of them in KH3. The focus was more on Sora and Kairi’s relationship since that played such a key role in the climax and ending of the story, and there will be time in the future for the three to interact more. Nomura had that quote about how KH3 would feature relationships changing etc., and we did see that with the focus more on Sora and Kairi’s relationship (plus Melody of Memory gave us some Riku and Kairi interactions, and KH4 is probably gonna feature some good Sora and Riku interactions given how they’ll probably reunite before Sora and Kairi do. And then Kairi and Sora’s reunion will be important given how they were separated, and I imagine there will be at least one meaningful scene of the three of them together).
Have Kairi fight back while she’s being taken - in her defense, it was very realistic for a short, petite fifteen-year old girl to have trouble fighting back against a grown ass man who 1) towers over her and most of the rest of the cast, and 2) is wrenching her arm back in a way that meant she’d likely dislocate her own arm if she tried to fight back. I just still wish this entire plot point had been handled differently, but it’s in the past now, not much more to be said about it.
Roxas and Xion were freed maybe when Sora “died”? - I think I had this on there because I thought the story would’ve benefited from the rescues being spread out more, giving time to focus on each one and allowing some longer soft/quiet moments with the character reunions.
Anyway, thanks for reading all this. It was interesting going back and looking at my initial reactions to KH3 and how my thoughts and feelings have changed over time. I think the big factors in the shift are that ReMind really added so much to the story and fixed most of my major issues with it, and I have a better picture now of all the stressors Nomura had to deal with to get the game out the door. Honestly it’s probably a small miracle the vanilla game turned out as well as it did given all the factors he was working against, and for that I have a lot of respect for him. And it was clear he was aware of the issues, you know? Otherwise he wouldn’t have released ReMind. He wanted KH3 to be good and he wanted to make the fans happy, so he did what he could to improve on the base game. And there are some truly fantastic moments in the base game and ReMind alike that I loved analyzing every single piece of.
How about you guys? How have your thoughts/feelings towards KH3 changed over time if at all? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Tips for Meeting Characters During Halloween at Walt Disney World
Meeting characters can be one of the most magical experiences during your Walt Disney World visit, especially during the Halloween season. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your character encounters: - Plan ahead: Use the My Disney Experience app to check character meet and greet times and locations. This will help you prioritize which characters you want to see and plan your route accordingly. - Arrive early: For popular characters, especially during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, consider arriving at the meet and greet location 5-15 minutes before the scheduled time. This can help you avoid long waits. - Bring an autograph book: Many characters are happy to sign autographs, and it's a great way to collect memories from your trip. You can purchase Disney autograph books or bring your own. - Prepare your camera: Make sure your phone or camera is ready before you reach the front of the line. This will help keep the line moving and ensure you don't miss your photo opportunity. - Have a conversation: Don't be shy! Characters love to interact with guests. Ask them about their Halloween costumes or share your own Halloween plans. - Consider character dining: If meeting characters is a priority, consider booking a character dining experience. While these may not feature Halloween-specific costumes, they offer a more relaxed setting for character interactions. - Be respectful: Remember that characters need breaks too. If a character is leaving as you approach, please be understanding and check the schedule for their next appearance. - Dress up: During Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests of all ages are encouraged to wear costumes. This can make your character interactions even more fun and memorable. - Use PhotoPass: If available, take advantage of Disney's PhotoPass photographers. They can capture professional-quality photos of your character encounters, allowing you to fully enjoy the moment. - Be flexible: Sometimes character appearances can change due to weather or other factors. Keep an open mind and be ready to adapt your plans if needed.

Hey everyone! Here is day three! The story is based on a show on youtube called Monstrum, I highly suggest it. There will be a picture to go along with it when I get home from work. I figured with her wearing all white and him wearing all black, it would be cute.
*************
Today was the day. Riku had promised that he would take her to other worlds outside their own, and he intended to do it. Sora was safe and at home now, spending his days on the sands of the Destiny Islands with Kairi. However, life had other plans for Riku. He had decided to follow in Aqua’s footsteps and become a full-time keyblade master; protecting the worlds from any remaining darkness. He himself had learned that the darkness wasn’t the enemy they had always been told it was.
Not that he was never home anymore. His mother insisted that he be home as often as he could to visit. After they had lost him for so long, they weren’t intent on losing him again. His family had been so happy that he came home that they had forgiven him for plunging the world into darkness. Now they could ask Sora or Kairi for stories anytime they wanted to hear what kind of adventures their son was getting into. They also begged him to bring Namine home. She lived with the Wayfinder trio in the Land of Departure and kept it while they were away on patrols.
There she was in the courtyard of her new home when he arrived to pick her up. She wore clothes much different now than that she could wear something other than that white slip she had been created in. Now she had a blue plaid skirt and black v neck top that resembled the one he wore. Overtop was a long white jacket with blue plaid on the bottom and a mickey insignia in yellow on her arm. Her hair was tied up as well, which made it easier to keep out of her face while she was casting spells.
With a heavy blush, Riku accepted the soft peck on his cheek before he lead her into the gummi ship. It was such a new sensation to have her holding onto him and presenting him with varied kisses. He enjoyed and treasured each one, but was also glad that they were kept in private, when it was just the two of them and they didn’t need to worry what else anyone thought or said.
“So, where are we going?” Namine questioned as she buckled her seatbelt. Takeoff had been hard on her every other time she had gone through it, despite how much she wanted to sit with him.
“I was hoping you might have a world in mind. I’ll take you anywhere you’d like to go.”
Namine thought to herself for a moment. There were so many worlds in Sora’s memories and even more in the hearts of those tied to him. But one in particular had stuck out to her. She somehow knew the lore that went with the holiday; the spooks and the scares and the way the dead shambled back to life. It wasn’t her first choice of worlds, but the idea of going there with Riku by her side seemed a little easier to bear than dealing with the brunt of it by herself.
“Can we check out Halloween Town?”
“You want to go there?” Riku looked back at her.
“Yes. it might be a little scary, but Jack seemed really nice, and I want to experience the thrill of terror when I know I'm not in any danger. Terra always seemed to like it, so…”
Riku smiled. “Then Halloween town it is. I wonder what your form change will be?”
While neither said it, they were both thinking it. She was likely going to be a witch of some sort. That was what most of the organization had called her as well as DiZ and even herself on occasions, though she was usually repeating the words of others. As for Riku, he could be anything. Sora had seemed to be a vampire of some kind, so maybe the keyblade master would be, too.
When the ship touched down, Namine giggled at the bubbly feeling that always accompanied their form changes to other worlds. As they walked out of the ship together, they took a long look to evaluate the other's change.
Riku was wearing a dark suit and his usually tanned skin had paled to being much lighter than she had ever seen it. She noticed very small fangs in his mouth as well as the fact that his hair had been mussed up. The biggest change though was the addition of bat wings that had grown out of him. It was fitting all things considered.
Her change though was quite a bit different. She reached up to where the brim of a witch's hat should have been only to find none. Her skin had turned a deathly white and her hair had even lost its color as well. She was wearing a long white dress that may have had a couple of rips, but for the most part was quite lovely.
"Are you supposed to be some kind of ghost?" Riku asked simply.
"No, I think I would be a little more...floaty? I don't feel like a ghost." Namine responded.
"That's the thing about form changes. You yourself haven't changed, just your outward appearance."
"Like you did in Twilight town." She spoke and gave a gasp, clapping her hands over her mouth. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that."
"You never saw me like that. To you I was always Riku." He spoke softly.
Namine nodded and gently took one of his large hands in her two smaller ones. She squeezed them lovingly and caught his gaze. The past was the past and she told him so in those very words. He had moved so far forward from that time; there was no need to drag himself back, even if it had been partially her fault that he even thought about it.
He nodded back and turned to lead them into town. He faintly remembered parts of it when he had wandered through the memories in Castle Oblivion, but he had never gotten a chance to go there properly before now. For a moment he was worried they wouldn't have anything to light their way, as it was fairly dark around here in the forest. Thankfully the overly large full moon gave them plenty of light to see by.
Town was easy enough to find, and as they walked through the gates, they were greeted by a small ghostly dog with a little lit pumpkin on its nose. It gave a happy bark and flew close around them, causing a small breeze to ruffle their clothes and hair. Namine had wanted to pet it, but since it was a ghost, she settled for watching the way it observed them.
Coming behind the dog was an unusually tall skeleton in a dark suit and spider bow tie. He looked at them, sizing them up with a smirk on his face. Both recognized him as Jack, the pumpkin king, even though he had never actually met either of them.
"Welcome to Halloween town. And who might you two be?" He bent over to get a better look at them.
"I'm Riku and this is Namine. We're friends of Sora's."
At the mention of the boy's name, Jack's face lit up. "So you found him after all. Good for you. Tell him to stop by sometime if he wants a good scream. I'm Jack, by the way. I help make each Halloween more scary than the last."
"Will do. And nice to meet you, jack." Riku replied. "So, is there anything to do around here?"
"Sure! Lots. Why don't you and your banshee friend head over to Curly hill? It's just down the way, you can't miss it."
A banshee. So that was what Namine had transformed into. As they waved goodbye, something was tugging at the back of Riku's mind. He had heard about banshees from his time on the island. They were monsters with a horrible voice and came to attack from out of nowhere. Maybe the form changes really were random, because that wasn't anything like her. She was usually soft spoken and thoughtful of others.
She must have been thinking about it too, because the look on her face was deep in thought, and perhaps a little troubled. As they walked, he took her hand in his and squeezed it gently. That was enough to bring her out of her thoughts, as she forced a smile at Riku.
"Are you bothered by the form change?" He asked.
"I don't know. I know about the stories you, Sora and Kairi would tell whenever you went camping, but it's like what we said earlier, appearance doesn't equal the heart, right?"
"Yeah, but you should also be comfortable in your own skin. Maybe we could try another world?'
"No, I want to see Curly hill for myself. I've seen it in memory, but this will be different."
They continued to walk, leaves crunching under their feet and a faraway howl rising in the air. Despite what she had said, her brows were still knit close together and she made a face similar to what Kairi did when she was frustrated.
There was a thin gate to their right and it led into a pathway in line with their final destination. Far ahead of them was the iconic hill that they were looking for, the swirl high in the moonlight. As they got closer, they noticed someone walking among the tombstones and pumpkins. She was moving at a leisurely pace, humming softly to herself.
"Oh, that's Sally." Namine smiled. She had always liked the woman from what she had seen.
"Hello there, and who might you be?" Sally asked.
"I'm Namine and this is Riku. It's nice to meet you."
"Yes, I suppose it is. Have I met you before? There's something about you that seems familiar."
Namine shook her head. She must have sensed the small amount of Sora that had been imbued in her upon her creation. Sally really must have been able to sense things others couldn't necessarily see.
"Oh, where are my manners? My name is Sally. It's not often we get a banshee around here. Not to say your vampire friend isn't welcome, but banshees are just a sign of good luck."
Riku and Namine looked at each other in slight confusion. They had never heard that version of the story. It had always been death and destruction. Where did the good luck come from?
"Banshees are good luck because they usually arrive to let members of their family know that death is coming so they have a chance to prepare. Which family are you connected to?"
"I'm not sure." Namine admitted.
"That's alright." Sally smiled warmly in the cool moonlight.
From the gate came the same ghostly dog who had greeted them when they entered the town. He zoomed around Riku and Namine before licking Sally and barking at her. The woman bent down and patted the ghost dog on the head before watching him fly off towards the town.
"It looks like doctor Finkelstein needs me for something. I hope you two enjoy your stay!"
With Sally gone, Riku suggyest they head up the hill to get a better view of the area nearby. They sat together for a while, listening to the wind sighing and a small band of vampires playing in the distance. He could tell she was deep in thought again, but this time, she wasn't nearly as frustrated. A contemplative look filled her face.
"Munny for your thoughts?" Riku asked.
"Just thinking about what Sally said. I guess I just got so used to being referred to as a witch that I didn't think there could be any good in monsters outside of this world. To me, a witch was just as much as a monster as any of them."
He listened as she continued.
"But I think….I think that hearing what Sally had to say about the banshees really made me wonder about who I'm going to be and what I'm going to do. They may have called me a witch, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, right?"
"No, it isn't. After all, witch, banshee, nobody; those don't make up who you are. Only you can decide what you're going to be."
"Yeah. Maybe that's the real reason why my heart led us here today. That way I could figure this out." She caught his gaze. "Riku, thank you."

LAUNCHING: CCC - COMIC COMMENT CORNER
Hello, Raff here! I decided to start keeping a series of reviews (or better, comments) on webcomics I read and like. I don’t want to come off as pretentious: I’m not a professional, I make a comic of my own and that brings me to have nothing but respect for all the people who make comics, and last but not least I’m not a fan of hate-reading.
The aim of this corner is to get me off my chair and have an opinion on things, and my critiques are, in the end, the opinion of a single person. But here we are, and today I’d like to talk about:
WAYFINDERS: OFF COURSE
Wayfinders: Off Course is described as “an epic fantasy adventure, with wacky shenanigans and tender moments in equal measure”. It is currently at its fifth chapter, and I’m going to say the description fits pretty well. It’s based on a D&D campaign, and it holds strong role-play game vibes because of it. The pacing is pretty quick, and it’s not dialogue heavy. I’ve had the fun experience of reading it while listening to the soundtrack of Rayman Legends, which added a game-ish vibe to it all. The following comment is spoiler free.
Plot, as described on the site: the captain of a ship with an important embassy task, a mysterious sailing monk, and a stowaway wash ashore on a mysterious island, where they find a compass (the Wayfinder), and embark on a seemingly impossible journey to keep war from breaking out again.
Advantages: the Art. It’s drawn exquisitely, the colors are great, the backgrounds are great – there are some shots of the ship in the first chapter that are to die for, the character design is interesting and varied, you will not end up mixing who is who. The clothing design is aesthetically pleasing, and does moderately express the characters’ personality and backgrounds. The anatomy isn’t always perfect and the characters aren’t always drawn coherently, but it’s a minor detail on the overall work. Additionally, the Mood: if you like fantasy, sea adventures, D&D, and magic, this might be your cup of tea, as long as you don’t expect a super detailed world setting.
Disadvantages: the Characters. They’re actually quite good and enjoyable, but in five chapters, they don’t stick out very much, and I haven’t developed any emotional bond with them. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future; Wayfinders has been out for only eight months and it updates a lot, therefore it has the possibility to develop the story more as it unravels. I expected a different approach, but that might be my fault: I’m not as used to epic fantasy stories as I once was, and that might be how characters start as. What I do know is how D&D campaigns are made and what limitations do characters have, and they are perfectly functional D&D characters (including Sally, who I find pretty annoying as a comic character, but who would be fun to play with).
I think that the diffusion of rpgs in the last years has influenced a lot the way people conceive storytelling. It’s a good thing, I’m a big supporter of the social and recreational experience that are rpgs, but to make a novel or comic from a campaign is a bit risky if you’re not an seasoned writer: games and tales have different dynamics and needs. More often than not, putting a heavy plot in a D&D world will end up taking away agency from your players, and re-telling the stories you played will hardly follow the rules of plot building. I’m not sure I’m explaining myself well enough, but these are some thoughts I’m cooking lately, because I’m trying to write a campaign of my own!
Final consideration: 8/10, it can improve and it probably will. Still, it’s a pretty fast read, and I recommend it. Will I do fanart of it? Probably yes.
#wayfinders: off course#webcomics#webcomic review#comic review#ccc - comic comment corner#(yes i wanted my own raff's fact coooorner like david's fact corner from Stellar Firma)#(but it's not a fact corner and I also would prefer not to stamp my name on everything I do like the egomaniacal narcisist I am)#wayfinders off course

The Hidden Journal
Just a quick fic for SoraXKairi week.
Sora yawned on one of the pilot seats, a seat that is normally occupied by Goofy, before he closed his eyes to try and get some rest before they reached the Eclipse Galaxy. He could only look over to his friend, Riku, who was chuckling at how Sora was stretched out of the chair, like a dog with one leg tucked in and the other one going over the armrest. He sat up and wiped his eyes and looked over to Donald’s seat, only to see Ven occupying the space, reading on the Gummi Phone.
“You know,” Riku spoke up as he piloted the Gummi Ship, doing his part of the journey before Sora, Donald and Goofy take over control when they reach the Eclipse Galaxy. “The whole part of us taking turns driving was so that you could get some rest.” He quickly turned to look at him. “Maybe in your room.”
Sora yawned once more. “Like I can get to it.” He whined slightly. “It’s so crowded on the bridge.” The gummi ship that Sora, Donald and Goofy wasn’t big, it would deal with four to five people at its max. It wasn’t anyone’s surprise when the Gummi Ship had to take off with nine people on board instead of it’s usual three. Since there were only three small rooms, a lot of the team were spread out in the bridge, making it a little cramped. “Besides, I gave my room to Kairi and Aqua.” Sora reminded the silver head.
Ven smiled at Sora’s good gesture. “That was very nice of you, Sora.” Ven said before adding, “It is a bit too cosy down there.” He looked back at the Gummi Phone.
“Well, if you start yawning later when we reached the Keyblade Graveyard. That’s on you.” Riku told him, shaking his head as Sora yawned again. “So, tell me, sleepyhead, what was it like?” He asked as he focused on the path again.
Sora stood up, stretching out his arms before looking at his friend in confusion. “What was ‘what’ like?” he questioned.
Riku kept his gaze on the path. “You know what I mean.” He simply said. Quickly looking the see that Sora still that no idea what he was talking about, Riku gave a blunt hint. “The Paopu fruit?”
“Oh.” Sora took a seat.
Ven looked at the two with curiosity. “What’s a Paopu fruit?”
“It’s this star-shaped fruit that grows on our Islands.” Riku explained. “There is a legend that goes with it. They say that if two people share one, they remain part of each other’s lives no matter what.”
As Ven quickly showed Riku his Wayfinder and asked if the people from Destiny Islands make Wayfinders to, Sora was deep in thought. He had taken a bite out of the star-shaped fruit and it surprising tasted similar to a mango. He wasn’t thinking about the fruit though. He was thinking about the redhead girl he shared it with, the feelings that came during that moment came rushing back to him once more.
“I’ll keep you safe.”
“Let me keep you safe.”
There was something about Kairi that he just can’t put his finger on. Despite all of the doubts he was feeling from most of his journey, just being around her again made him feel at ease, made him feel powerful again. All she had to do was give him that heart-warming smile that she gave him and all of the courage and strength he needed for this final fight came back. She means a lot to him, sharing the Paopu fruit showed that. But what did it mean? His heart feels completely different around her…
…..
Did she……
……
Does he……
“Sora!” The Keyblade Master jumped in surprise as he looked back at Riku, who looked like he had been trying to get his attention for a while. “So, what’s it like?” He asked again.
Sora wasn’t sure how to answer, so he stuttered as he looked over to Ventus. “Hey, Ven! What are you reading?” He changed the subject abruptly, making Riku roll his eyes as he focused on driving once more.
“Jiminy had shared his reports of your adventures on our Gummi Phones so I wanted to have a read before we landed.” Ven showed the reports of his phone before he started to scroll through the reports again. “All this information of Heartless and Nobodies are handy going ahead to the battle.”
“Wait! You never fought against Heartless?” Riku piped in.
“That’s all we mainly fight.” Sora added, surprised by Ven’s statement.
“I had thought them once…. but that didn’t end very well.” Ven said as he held his hand to his chest. “I’ve mainly fought the Unverse.” Ven continued to scroll through the reports. “Sora. I was just wondering. Did you see me appear at all during your adventures?”
“No. Why do you ask?”
“Well, the journal says that you kept seeing Kairi on your first journey.” Ven found the part of the report that he was referring too. “’We went to an empty house to try and find a wizard called Merlin. When we were looking around, Kairi appeared in front of me once more. She was saying that this empty house reminded her of the secret place back home and asked if I remembered the drawings on the wall. ‘” He read out loud.
Sora’s eyes went wide as he pulled out his Gummi Phone. “Oh no.” He looked at the reports only to realise that Jiminy had not just shared his reports and findings to the others. He had also shared Sora’s personal journal. “Nonononono!” Sora started to pace around the pilot room.
Riku looked at him with concern. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Jiminy shared my journal,” Sora said in a slightly panicked voice. “All of my personal thoughts and worries were in that journal.”
Riku looked quite surprised about the journal. “You’re normally open to expressing your feelings.” He pointed out.
“It was just something I could write into so I didn’t worry Donald and Goofy too much.” He explained. When he started his first journey, Jiminy had suggested writing his thoughts on a piece of paper if he wanted to get something off his mind, something that came in handy when he was looking for Riku, Kairi and the King. “And when I was missing you guys.”
“It says here that you thought that Riku was stupid for siding with the Heartless.” Ven pointed out.
Riku only shrugged, “He’s not wrong.”
“Guys. If Ven can read it then the others can too.” Sora explained to them.
Ven looked at him questionably. “Is it that bad?” He asked him. “I get to know you on a deeper level. That and I can connect my dreams to your adventures.” He smiled.
“I think he’s more worried about what Kairi thinks.” Riku chipped in. Ven replied with a simple ‘ohhhh’ while smiling.
“Kairi can read it. I don’t care.” Sora crossed his arms, looking out into space.
“Yeah sure.” Riku huffed on Sora’s blatant lie. “Ven. Is there anything on Kairi?” He smirked as he received a glare from Sora.
Ven scrolled through until he found a section of the report. “Here we go. ‘It started to snow in Halloween Town and Jack had asked Sally to dance with him. As they danced, I started to wonder what Kairi would want for Christmas—”
“Right. I’m outta here.” Sora went over to the hatch door and started to climb down to the bridge, ignoring Riku and Ven’s calls that they were just teasing.
Reaching the bridge, Sora couldn’t help but smile as they saw Donald and Goofy sleeping on the sofa while Axel decided to kip on the floor, half in the kitchen, half in the hallway. He can only assume that Kairi, Aqua and King Mickey were resting in the bedrooms. Being careful not to wake the others up, Sora took a seat by the window as he looked out at the galaxy they were leaving, seeing the colours slowly change. The sight of deep space reminded him of staring out at sea, seeming endless, calm, peaceful. It always gave him some sort of comfort.
“I think this is the first time I found you awake.”
Sora turned away to see Kairi giggle slightly as she leaned against the wall by the window. “You should have come to me ten minutes ago.” He grinned, grabbing a vacant seat next to him and placed it in front of the window next to him. Kairi took the gesture and sat in the vacant chair, enjoying the view of deep space. “Did you get a chance to rest?” He asked her.
She shook her head. “With what’s up ahead, I couldn’t sleep. So, I decided to read some of Jiminy’s reports.” She told him. She turned to him, noticing that Sora was looking intently out into the emptiness. “I didn’t realise how many people you ended up helping while you were looking for me and Riku.” She admitted, grabbing Sora’s attention. “I know from your stories that you went to many worlds but when you actually read it, you take it all in.” She smiled back at him. “You’ve had quite an adventure, Sora.”
“There’s been funny moments.” He smiled.
Kairi pulled out her Gummi Phone and started to read something on her screen. “’Me and Donald had a huge fight today. Why can’t he understand that I just want a five-minute nap!’” Kairi read out before giggling, “Now that’s the lazy bum, I know.”
Sora groaned at this. “So you did get it.” He sighed.
She nodded. “I can imagine you reading it. It’s like having a piece of you no matter where we go.” She told him.
Sora smiled at this. She was doing again. Just being herself and his worries disappeared just like that. “Once we bring everyone back, and I have a long-deserved nap on the beach…” He enjoyed Kairi’s soft giggle to that. “We’ll go on our own journey. The one we always wanted to go on.” He proposed.
Kairi nodded to this, “It would be good to meet all of the friends that you have made, dance in the snow, learn how to fly, see all of the magical things that you got to see.” She smiled. “The three of us. Me, you and Riku.”
“Actually, I asked Riku a while back. He said that he would give it a pass.” Sora told her.
“But he wanted to see the other worlds the most out of the three of us.” Kairi said in disbelief.
“Tell me about it.” Sora said with the same disbelief before he chuckled. “Besides, didn’t you want it to be just the two of us last time?”
Kairi groaned into her own hands. “Don’t remind me.” Remembering her abruptness on her comment on her and Sora taking the raft and leaving Riku behind. She looked back at Sora, smiling at the soft smile he was giving her. “I look forward to our adventure together.” She leaned forward and grabbed a hold of his hand as she turned to look at the view again.
Sora could only focus on the hand that was holding his. This was the first time she has done something like this. Just feeling her soft hand against his rough skin made his heart heat up once more, similar to the evening they shared the Paopu fruit. He wanted to know what this feeling was and he will fight as hard as he can in the battle to come to figure out what it is that he’s feeling whenever he is around her.
