Motion Sickness
jason todd x fem!reader
aka jason makes you cry after a fight
warnings: angst with comfort
âJasonââ
He waves you off immediately, âNo, Iâm not your problem, okay?â
Your arms drop, âYouâre not a problem at all, thatâs not what Iâm sayingââ
âThen what are you saying?â he challenges.Â
You almost bite your tongue but then decide against it, âIâm saying youâre being an asshole right now just because I tried to help.â
Heâs angry and youâre someplace in between desperate and tired, but you push on, hoping youâll be able to solve this without an extended argument. To little avail though, apparently.Â
A tense exhale from him, âI donât need your help, I donât know how I can make it any clearer.â
âItâs not about needing itââ
âNo, itâs about wanting it. I donât want your fucking help,â he snaps. âIâm grown, I can handle my problems myself.â
You drop your hands to your sides, âThen what am I doing here, Jason?â
âI donât know!â You can literally see the regret sweep over his face but he lets the moment consume him and the words linger anyways.Â
You know he doesnât always think before he talks, especially when heâs mad. Youâve seen it plenty when heâs fighting with his family. This is the first time itâs shown up with you though, and while you know itâs not coming from a place of genuinityâit still really fucking stung.Â
Far from being in your control, tears slip out, more at his tone than his words, and you remove your gaze in favor of the linoleum tiles. He says nothing as you start to cry, which only makes the heat of the moment worsen.Â
âOkay,â You take a deep breath, pursing your lips. âYou need to go away.â
Thereâs a long, hard moment of silence, but ultimately he doesnât fight you on it, only exhales harshly and slams the door on his way out.
The resulting reverberation of the apartment has your shoulders shaking, tears falling onto your shirt. Â
You and Jason donât fight often but when you do itâs usually about insecurities and fears coming forward. Heâd been having a bad night to start with and all you wanted to do was make him feel better but he wasnât willing to talk to you or let you do anything for him. He gets selfishly selfless like that, but you know why.
You know him, in and out. You couldâve anticipated thisâyou shouldâve. You shouldâve approached the topic more sensitively. And itâs not his fault, his life has taught him that itâs safer to believe that other people donât have his best interest. You know that.Â
Yeah, you know him in and out, but he knows you in and out, too. He knows youâve shown him nothing but kindness and generosity since the day you met and youâve reinforced a thousand times how safe you are for him. But if he still canât trust you to care about him, then what are you doing here?
You let yourself fall back onto the arm of the couch, huffing in defeat.Â
Itâs nearing two in the morning when Dick awakens, the bandages across his abdomen digging into his skin uncomfortably. He sits up, bedsheet pooling around his waist. The ache of the bruising pushes him towards his old bedroom door before heâs even fully coherent, narrowly missing shouldering the door frame as he passes through.
Heâs still half asleep as he thumps down the staircase, cold hands stuffed in the pocket of his sweatshirt. Heâs so out of it in his blind search for painkillers, that he nearly misses the large shadowed figure huddled up on the couch.
Dick stills, blinking warily.
âWhatâre you doing here?â
His younger brother says nothing, only continues to stew in the shadows, staring at the rug.
As his eyes adjust, Dick takes in his appearance: messy hair, tired eyes, only clad in a t-shirt and sweatpants.
He rubs his eyes, approaching with measured steps, âWhat happened?â
Jason remains silent for a long minute before grunting out, âGot in a fight.â
Dick nods slowly, shuffling forward a little more to sit on the far end of the couch.Â
âWhatâd you do?â
Jason doesnât have it in him to comment on how his brother immediately knew he was the issue. It just makes the entire thing hurt even worse. Instead, he tells the truth.Â
âBe myself.â
Dick says nothing,Â
When the silence persists, Jason elaborates, even though itâs the last thing he wants to admit to.
âI made her cry,â he says, voice below even a whisper. He hates it and he hates himself for leaving you when he knew heâd hurt you.
Dick nods, not saying anything. Heâs definitely been there before, though heâs not nearly as volatile as Jason can be, so he can imagine how this likely played out. In any case, Jason has never responded well to being pushed to talk about his feelings so Dick lets him get there in his own time.
Heâs half expecting to end up with no results at all, but Jason pipes up after a minute, voice broken.
âI donât know what she wants me to do,â he rasps.
Dick takes a deep breath, adjusting his posture. âWhen girls are mad you give them space but when theyâre sad you definitely donât. Is she sad or mad?â
Jason exhales desperately.
âBoth, I think.â
Dick nods, understanding.
âThen go home.â
Jason shakes his head, defeated. âShe told me to leave. She doesnât want to talk to me.â
âWhat did you say?â
He huffs, not wanting to bring the memory back up. âI basically told her to fuck off.â
âYeah,â Dick drawls. âI wouldnât let that simmer.â
Jasonâs head snaps over to him. âSheâll break up with me?â
âNo, I donâtââ Dick pauses, thinking over his words. âItâll be fine. Just go home.â
Despite taking the long route on the way to the manor, Jason sped back home on his bike, now unwilling to leave you alone for another second longer than he had to.Â
He creeps through the front door of your apartment, proud and only a little hurt that youâd remembered to lock it.Â
The apartmentâs mostly quiet, nothing but a lamp lighting up the front half. He can hear the shower running from where he stands, the waterfall noise awfully muffled from behind the closed bathroom door.
He bolts the door behind him, pushing forward towards the hallway. He approaches the bathroom door, noticing how thereâs no light flooding out from underneath.
âBaby?â Jason calls it out quietly, like heâs scared to commit to alerting you of his presence.
He hears no response, but he knows you heard him. He knows you heard him in the same way that he knows youâre sitting on the shower floor, curled in on yourself under the sensory relief that the pouring water brings. He doesnât know how, he just does.
So he leans against the door, listening closely, and calls out again, âCan I come in?â
Thereâs a solid ten seconds of silence before you respond, just barely audible over the cascade of water.
âNot right now.â
Your volume has him wincing, saddened and embarrassed that heâs the one that made you feel like this.
He reluctantly walks back to the bedroom with heavy shoulders, thudding his weight down on the mattress. He sits half folded over himself for the next ten minutes, thinking only of you, sitting alone in the shower with your thoughts.
He perks up considerably when he hears the water shut off, and after several long minutes, you emerge from the bathroom, towel wrapped around your middle.
He stands up when you enter the bedroom, hands stiff and awkward at his sides. You barely look at him, having trouble willing yourself to do more than glance.Â
Your eyes fall downward, your lips pursing. You instinctually move to clutching the towel tighter around you, more than anything because you donât know what to do with your hands.Â
It makes his heart break to see you so out of comfort around himâbecause of himâso he gives you the benefit of privacy, turning around so you can get dressed. It kills him to do it, makes him feel like heâs just some stranger in your life rather than him. But he supposes that he deserves to feel like that right now.Â
Whether or not you wanted him to turn around goes unsaid, he can only hear the quiet shuffling of you putting clothes on.
He waits until the movement stops, after he hears the squeak of the bed springs and the faint sound of the sheets being pulled up.
He turns around again with a silent sigh, taking in the sight of you laying in bed, back turned to him. Â
He approaches slowly, stopping just before his knees hit the mattress. He notices quickly that the t-shirt youâd chosen was one of your own. He frowns. Â
âSweetheart. Can I touch you?â His voice is soft and low, like heâs trying to coax you back out to him.
It takes a long few moments, but you nod.
He sits down on the bed, still hesitant to go through with it.
âWill you turn over?â
An even longer pause and youâre flipping over to face him. You donât make eye contact, only look blankly past him. Your blinks are heavy, and even in the dark, he can see that your eyes are still bloodshot.Â
He brushes your hair back, his fingers feather-light against you, like heâs scared to touch you too harshly. Like heâs touching porcelain.
He lets you hold the silence for a while, reasoning with himself that youâll talk when youâre ready.
You let it go on longer than heâd hoped, past the point of him knowing what to do with it. Heâd hoped youâd yell at him. He can take that, he knows he can. He can see plainly that youâre thinking deeply and wants more than anything for you to say it, scream it if you have to.Â
He knows he deserves it and he frankly would take anything over the silence. But then again, he doesnât deserve the reprieve, does he? No, but heâs not strong enough to deny himself the chance to hear your voice.
âSay it,â he urges. âPlease.â
Your fingers tap against the bed sheets for a moment before you sit up, almost defeated.Â
You face him, taking a breath and relenting. âI donât like that you said that to me.â
He nods, brow deep. âMe neither.â
Your shoulders sag at that, and you feel stuck in the moment. You feel guilty too but you donât know if you should. He didnât mean it, you know that, and they werenât his words, really. But the snap of his voice when heâd said it and the look on his faceâit made you feel terrible. It still does.
You look awkwardly to the left, feeling heavily spectated by him and so hyper-conscious of all of your movements. The downturn of your lips gives way to burning in your eyes and before you can do anything about it, tears are spilling out.Â
Jason sees it immediately, his head lulling helplessly.Â
âOh, baby. Please donât cry, please.â
But that only makes it worse, the tears falling faster and heavier at his soft tone.
He forgoes asking permission and pulls you directly into his chest, a firm hand on the back of your head. Itâs what you needed though, to be close to him right now.
âIâm sorry. Iâm really fucking sorry, babyââ he murmurs against your hair, pressing a rough kiss as he holds you tighter.
You shake your head, sniffling. âItâs okay, Jay.â
âNo, itâs not.â
That sentiment lingers for several minutes, as he holds you cheek to chest and rubs soothing patterns into your hair.
Itâs not long before youâre able to fully relax against him, his touch feeling nothing short of therapeutic. Your breathing eventually levels out back to baseline and your thoughts start to find peace amongst themselves.
When youâre ready, you sit back from him, letting him see your face again.                   Â
He visibly winces as he scans over the tears on your cheeks, how theyâre starting to stain.
Youâre still upset, a little, but not nearly as much as youâre sure your face is conveying.Â
âItâs okay,â you tell him, wiping your eyes with your sleeve.
He shakes his head, âIf I ever say something like that to you again, hit me. Iâm serious.â
You drop your hand onto your lap, tilting your head at him with a serious look. âIâm not going to hit youââ
âThen break up with me. Donât ever let somebody talk to you like that, especially not me.â
His voice is hard and you can tell the impact of his words have every bit of weight intended.
Your mouth closes and you waver unsure of where to go with that. Your gaze falls down to where your hands lie discarded on your lap and thereâs a palpable shift to the air in the room.
âHey.â He pushes your chin up to make you look at him, âListen to me. Youâre the love of my life. You hear me? Iâm supposed to take care of you, make you happy. I donâtâŚI canât talk to you like that. Iâm sorry. Iâm really sorry.â
Your eyes flicker back and forth across each others and you can see the genuine sincerity etched plainly across his face.
He processes the comprehension across your own before his jaw tenses for a moment and he adds, âNobodyâs gonna talk to you like that, much less me. Yes?âÂ
You start to nod slowly and he mirrors you until heâs convinced of your belief in the statement.Â
He rubs calm circles into your thighs as you both sit with the conversation, the light sounds of each others breaths the only sound heard. This silence isnât the same as it was before though, itâs safer, more comfortable. Itâs familiar, if not weighted. Â
âI love you,â you tell him quietly.
His eyebrows furrow like his heart was just shattered.Â
âI love you too, baby. So much.â

Last one before I try doing it with another character (and before i force myself to get back to work on art and stuff lol)
With the usual lady herself. The scourge of the undead and the paranormal alike. Hunter of monsters. Breaker of bones (and hearts). EATER OF RARE HAMBURGERS.
The unwilling vampire, Sammy!
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv This gal! vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
This one is really long, so I'll be dividing them by sections like the original!
Appearance
1. What is your favorite physical trait that you possess?
SM: If I could, I'd be feeling flustered right now. But since I can, I'll just say something at random.
SM: ...
SM: Hair.
2. What would you wear if they told you you had to gussy up?
SM: ...
SM: I AM gussied up.
3. Is there anything about your appearance that you would change if possible?
SM:
SM: Hope that answers your question.

5. What's your opinion on scars?
SM: I miss them.
6. How much do you take interest in trends?
SM: More than I'd like to. Apex predators have to stay at the top of the game.

SM: Myself. From about 2 years ago.

SM: Anything degrading.
14. Is there a style you're afraid you can't pull off?
SM: Average.
15. Would you wear something someone else picked for you?

16. Is your appearance more telling or deceiving?
SM: What a way to ask about it. Hopefully the first one.
17. What are your thoughts on wearing costumes?
SM: It's been tainted for me, the whole "human pretending to be a monster" thing. But if it's for innocent fun, I try not to mind.

âNo sleeping in, not even on my birthday. Thereâs too much to get done to waste the day in bed.â đâ¨
Happy birthday to my twst oc, Arlen Nox! I decided to do my spin on the new birthday card theme for Arlen even though they havenât released a Diasomnia character yet, so Arlen might not match Silver and the others when they come out. Trey and Floyd were big inspirations for Arlenâs card from his to his pajamas. Specifically for his pajamas I wanted to incorporate Kingdom Hearts elements since Arlenâs main inspiration is Riku, so I tied in some dream eater references.
If you swipe you can see how Arlen spent part of his birthday as well as what presents he received from his friends. Below you can read Arlenâs birthday vignette written in a similar style to the new birthday vignettes, which guest stars the character voted as Arlenâs duo partner on InstagramâŚSilver! I hope you all enjoy and if you have any questions about Arlen, feel free to leave them in my inbox! â¨
.â¨â¨â¨.
Arlen: Alright, I should be able to take these back to my room before track practice.
Arlen: Wait a secondâŚwhoâs that lying on the ground up ahead? Are they hurt?
Arlen: Oh, itâs just Silver. I donât have time to wasteâŚbut I hate to leave him in case heâs in a hurry to get somewhere too.
Arlen: Silver? Wake up, Silver. Nowâs not the time to be napping. Silver! SILVER!
Silver: Huh? What? Oh, Arlen, itâs you.
Arlen: Yeah, sorry about yelling in your ear. You were sleeping pretty soundly.
Silver: Sorry for the trouble I caused. I appreciate you taking the time to wake me up.
Arlen: Itâs fine. I was just on my way back from the post office and saw you laying there on the side of the path.
Silver: Post office? Not many students go there with all the technology available today.
Arlen: Unfortunately, Iâm not the best with technology, so I go there quite frequently. Today, I was picking up a card my stepparents sent me.
Silver: A card? Were they congratulating you about your performance in the recent track meet?
Arlen: No, they sent me a birthday card.
Silver: Birthday? Iâm terribly sorry if I missed it. Happy-
Arlen: Slow down, Silver, my birthdayâs not until tomorrow.
Silver: Really? I apologize for getting ahead of myself.
Arlen: Quit apologizing, birthdays arenât a big deal anyways. Just another day of the year.
Silver: Oh? Are you not a fan of big celebrations on your birthday?
Arlen: Not really? I donât know, I just donât understand the need to get so worked up about them. All youâre doing is getting older, whatâs there to really celebrate?
Silver: Hmm. I suppose people just like to celebrate that you lived another year, uplifting your growth and the memories you made in that short span of time.
Arlen: Sounds about right, I guess. The best partâs getting to eat cake.
Silver: Really? I thought you werenât a fan of sweets?
Arlen: Just ice cream, itâs way too sugary for my tastes. I enjoy cakes and pies just fine.
Silver: That explains Malleusâs initial reaction to youâŚ
Arlen: Huh?
Silver: Itâs nothing, justâŚhold on a moment, I just got a text from Sebek.
Silver: Oh no, I was asleep longer than I thought. I must be getting to the Equestrian Club. Farewell, Arlen!
Arlen: Bye, Silver.
Arlen: Guess Iâd better hurry on myself. Chatting with Silverâs nice, but I canât be late to practice or else Iâll have to run extra laps.
.â¨â¨â¨.
Arlen: Thereâs nothing like a hot shower after practice.
Arlen: Speaking of practice, I need to write down my new personal best. Canât believe I managed to shave off four seconds today. Maybe itâs some early birthday luck.
Arlen: The next track meet isnât for another month, so Iâve got plenty of time to cut down more time off my personal best. I wish I could shave off some more time from our relay record, it could definitely use some improvement.
Arlen: Competing individually comes easier to me than competing as a group. When itâs just me, I only have to worry about myself. When Iâm competing with others, I not only worry about myself, but I have to worry about the other guys as well. Itâs a lot of trusting one another, which doesnât come easilyâŚespecially in a school like Night Raven College.
Arlen: Luckily, Jack and Deuce handle their share of the relay just fine. Although, I wonder if by becoming closer it would shave off time for our relayâŚ.hmmm. Maybe Iâll treat them to dinner tomorrow after practice, theyâd enjoy that.
*Bzzt*
Arlen: My phone? Who could that be? Oh, Soren wants to FaceTime. Sure for just a couple minutes.
Soren: ARLEN! What took you so long? It took you like three rings instead of two! What-
Arlen: Slow down, Soren. I just got back from showering after practice. Iâm a bit sore today.
Soren: Oh, I see! Must be trying to beat my time from the track meet last week.
Arlen: Yeah right, youâre the one trying to catch up to me. Speaking of which, youâre going to have to work harder, I just shaved off four more seconds.
Soren: WAIT WHAT?! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! Kai wonât believe me when I tell him tomorrow.
Arlen: I could always send you a picture of my time as proof.
Soren: Ha ha, very funny. Laugh it up while you can, youâll be eating my dust soon enough.
Arlen: As if.
Soren: Oh let me tell you what happened in class today! So I was sitting with NeigeâŚ
*Time Passes*
Soren: I couldnât believe it when Chenya came out of alchemy lab with bright green hands.
Arlen: Well thatâs what you get when you mix aloe and pixie dust.
*Knock*
Lilia: Arlen, itâs past lights out. Off to bed with you.
Arlen: My bad!
Arlen: Sorry, Soren, weâll have to talk later.
Soren: Thatâs fine. But before you go, Iâve got one last thing to say to you.
Arlen: What?
Soren: Happy birthday, Arlen!
*Click*
Arlen: Huh? Is it really-
Arlen: We talked for that long!? So thatâs why he kept flying through topics, just to get to midnight.
Arlen: WaitâŚ
Arlen: Why was Lilia doing lights out checks so late!? What was he doing?!
Arlen: No use wasting time thinking about that. Iâve got to get to bed so I can get up early.
.â¨â¨â¨.
Arlen: Time to start the day. Itâs nice waking up early because the dorm bathroom is completely empty. Most people donât get up at the crack of dawn like I do. Sometimes I run into Sebek or Malleus, which is quite the jump scare as Idia would say.
Arlen: Alright, quick shower then itâs time to head out.
Arlen: I donât spend too much time on my appearance. Just combing my hair, brushing my teeth, the usual. No point spending extra time when itâll just get messy from the wind later.
Arlen: Some guys go all out with makeup and hair products, but thatâs just not my thing. Just some lotion will do just fine. Dry skin gets on my last nerve.
Arlen: Alright, next on my morning routine. Time to go get the feed from my room. I like being outside early, itâs a good way to clear my head. I feed the animals around the dorm while Iâm at, might as well since Iâm already out.
Arlen: I can see the birds waiting up in the rafters of the courtyard. They always wait up there, never getting close till I put the feed outâŚI hope theyâll grow to like me some day. Animals just donât seem to like me, I get it though.
Arlen: Hmm?
Arlen: A little sparrow is hopping right in front of me? Want something to eat little guy?
Arlen: Huh? Another birdâs come down? A rabbit too? I havenât even put down any food yet!?
???: Getting along with the animals, Arlen?
Arlen: Silver! That explains why the animals got closer than normal.
Silver: Iâm sure theyâre just finally coming around to you.
Arlen: As if.
Silver: You just gotta have more confidence in yourself. The animals can tell youâre nervous. Here.
Arlen: Huh? What are you doing with that bird? Silver, wait-
Silver: Just put your hand out like so and the bird will have a nice place to sit. Perfect.
Arlen: Silver, take it back before I hurt-
Silver: Youâre fine, just breathe. See? Itâs okay.
Arlen: âŚ
Silver: Arlen? Iâm sorry if I rushed you into-
Arlen: So what are you doing up so early? Doesnât a sleepyhead like you snooze through the morning.
Silver: Usually, yes, but I had something important this morning.
Arlen: Really?
Silver: Arlen, happy birthday.
Arlen: Huh? HaâŚha ha ha!
Silver: Whatâs so funny?
Arlen: Something important? Itâs just my birthday. You said that like it was the secret to saving the world from darkness or something.
Silver: Itâs important to me. I wanted you to know your birthday mattered to me, so much so I wanted to be the first to say it.
Arlen: Really? ThatâsâŚreally kind of you. Thank you, Silver.
Silver: Youâre welcome, Arlen. I hope you donât think thatâs all I prepared, I also made some coffee cake in the kitchen for breakfast.
Arlen: Pulling out all the stops arenât you.
Silver: Of course for a friend like you.

Cute ways the jjk girls (+ genderbends) use jujutsu in your relationship
A/n:I initially had this ideal with fem!gojo, but then it expanded to other characters. Let me know if you have any ideas for a part 2 or something with other characters
Also I kinda did something similar with fem!inumaki here if you're interested
Fem! Gojo
Lapse blue
Y/n:Hey babe, do you mind grabbing me that glass of water?
Fem!gojo:sure thing sweetie
[She uses blue to make the glass float toward you, but the water splashes on your face]
Y/n:......
Fem!gojo:s-sorry
Infinity
Y/n:Come on, tori, I already told you I'm sorry
[You try to hug her, but infinity stops you]
Y/n:Can you please deactivate your technique?
Fem!gojo:No way! You ate my last mochi. That's basically the same as cheating. I'm not letting you hug me
Y/n:[sighs] I'll buy you some other ones ok? And some more cakes
[Gojo immediately turns off infinity and hugs you]
Fem!gojo:Thanks, y/nnnnn! I knew you loved me
Six eyes
Fem!gojo:Hey y/n, what happened?
Y/n:what do you mean?
Fem!gojo:Your shoulder, it's all hurt and purple
Y/n:.....how did you know? I'm wearing a sweater
Fem!gojo:I have really good eyes remember?
Y/n:oh yeah, I forgot about the six eyes, sorry I got hurt during a mission and just didn't wanna bother you
Fem!gojo:it's never a bother for me, I'll just call shoko and bring you an ice pack
Fem!sukuna
Heian era form
Y/n:Kuna.....is this really necessary?
[It shows you being carried by 2 of sukuna's arms while an other one is stroking your hair]
Fem!sukuna:Of course, are you saying you don't like this?
Y/n:No, I do it's just......why?
Fem!sukuna:uraume said I should try being more affectionate with you. This is how I do it.
Y/n:I guess your arms are pretty comfy
Fem!sukuna:good, I don't want to hear you complain
[She kisses you while you blush harder]
Yuki tsukumo
Star rage
(Tbh I forgot if this is exactly how the technique works)
[You're trying to open a jar, but it's too tight]
Yuki:Do you need some help, baby?
Y/n:Yeah thanks
[You give her the jar, and she opens it without problems]
Yuki:here you go
Y/n:Thanks
Yuki:could I get a kiss for that~?
Y/n:[giggle] sure
[You kiss her cheek, and she smiles brightly]
Yuki[talking to herself] yes! I know using my technique was worth it
Y/n:......what do you mean using your technique?
Yuki:o-oh nothing
Y/n:Wait, did you put mass in the lid so I couldn't open and jar and you'd get a kiss?
Yuki:..........noooooo what are you talking about? Hehe
Y/n:If you wanted a kiss you could have just asked for one you know?
Garuda
Y/n:...........yuki, can you tell your shikigami to stop following me?
Yuki:Why? It's not that bad
Y/n:it wasn't but I think it's taking it a bit too far
[Garuda completely wraps itself around you]
Y/n:see
Yuki:that just means it likes you, just like me
Y/n:....I guess that's nice then, but it's still kinda uncomfortable
Yuki:ok, I'll tell it to stop, we both know you very much prefer my hugs anyway
Yorozu
(I've decided i wanna write for her too, I'll add her to the masterlist now and I chose her instead of mai not only because her creation is better but also just because I kinda like her more)
Creation
Yorozu:y/n! Look what I made for us
[She shows you two rings with your names engraved on them]
Yorozu:it took me a while, but I finally did it! Now we will be bound together even more than we already are
Y/n:Oh thanks, that's so sweet....even if we aren't married yet
Yorozu: Those are just details. What's wrong with thinking ahead
Y/n:hehe, alright
[You start to take the ring with your name on it but she stops you]
Yorozu:Oh no, darling, you'll be wearing the one with my name so that everyone knows you're mine, and I'll wear the other one so that everyone knows I'm yours
Y/n:Oh, that's....sweet
Yorozu:I'm glad you think that, I can't have anyone thinking my darling is free to take, here I'll even put it on you myself
Fem!megumi
Ten shadows:divine dogs (and mahoraga)
Y/n:Please, gumi, I swear I won't ask you anything else ever
Fem!megumi:[sighs] you're really like I love you.....alright
[She does the hand sign and summons the dogs]
Fem!megumi:Go smell y/n and find their hoodie
[The shikigami do what she said and start searching for it]
Y/n:Thanks, you're a lifesaver megumi
Fem!megumi:you're welcome just don't get used to it
[The dogs eventually find the hoodie and give it to you]
Y/n:Oh, thanks so much to you two too. You're such good boys
[You start petting them while megumi gets closer to you]
Fem!megumi:wait minute.....that hoodie isn't it nobara's? Why does it have your smell on it
Y/n:oh no I can explain she just gave-
Fem!megumi:I don't need any explanation. With this treasure I summon
Y/n:wait no stop it!
Fem!geto
Cursed spirit manipulation
Gojo:Hey, geto, what are you waiting for? We're gonna be late for the mission
Fem!geto:don't be so impatient satoru, I'm just waiting for y/n
Gojo:Come on! Your partner can wait, I just wanna get this over with
Fem!geto:if they don't come, I'm not going either
Gojo:fiiiine, you're the only thing that makes missions interesting anyway
[After waiting for a bit geto looks at the sky]
Fem!geto:oh looks like they arrived
Gojo:hm?
[They look up to see you riding rainbow dragon]
Gojo:You made them ride on your curse?
Fem!geto:they were gonna be late and asked me
Gojo:that's so cool you have to make me ride on it too sometimes
Fem!geto:[sighs] I suppose one time is ok

Let's Talk About "Marvelfication"
Okay, let me try to get this out of my system, because I do have some thoughts on this one.
See, as you know, I finished Dragon Age: Veilguard last week. And I did enjoy the game. I never was that attached to the franchise. I really enjoyed Inquisition back in the day when it came out, but after doing two runs with it never have really returned to it. I also did play one of the older games, though I am not fully sure which one, because it was a long while ago. But I just never got that attached to the franchise. (Which mostly has to do with my own personal issues with High Fantasy.)
But that is not what I wanted to talk about. What I wanted to talk about is more the thing I have seen now multiple people call out: "The Marvelfication" as some have called it. And mind you, I absolutely do agree with this: There were several scenes in this game where I thought to myself: "This feels kinda MCU."
However, what I kinda want to talk about is the specific wording here: "Marvelfication." Because it is super understandable that the first thing that comes to mind (for me as well) is the MCU. But I think the issue is way deeper than "MCU is popular, so let's do something like the MCU".
A lot of folks on Youtube and other platforms have talked about how a lot of "tropes" that people blame on the MCU are actually older than the MCU. The reason people associate it with the MCU is moreso that the MCU is just fucking everywhere since it became this big thing. It is what defines the media landscape.
The big issue actually is another one, though: Those tropes are everywhere because in a more and more conservative media landscape they are considered safe. These types of jokes are not risky in any way. These types of characters are not risky. These types of stories are not risky.
It is stories that are set in societies that are messed up, and then there is a big conflict that only tangentally relates to the ways the societies are messed up in, and then that conflict is resolved but the status quo does not change.
And that more than anything is what I would criticize about the game. Outside of very prominently centering some trans issues, the game has taken very little risks.
I wrote about that a bit last week in comparison to BG3, how safe the companions in Veilguard feel. This shows so harshly in direct comparison to BG3, because really, Larian sat down with player and told you: "Those assholes are your companions. Take it or leave it." Those people I know who never finished BG3 mostly never did because they could not stand the companions. Meanwhile those who, like me, got obsessed with the game, mostly did it because it feels so fucking satisfying when you start to get through to the companions after they started out as those assholes. This satisfaction is something Veilguard never really offers you - because... Well, I can assume that some of these characters had some edges at some point. But whatever edges there had been, those have gotten smoothed down, so now everyone is perfectly sweet. Sure, they might argue a bit here or there, and if you make decisions they do not agree with, they are gonna be pissy with Rook for a bit, but that's the most of it.
Same with a lot of other stuff. There is basically no sexual content in this game. You get one sex scene that is super tame and you see nothing - and one to two kisses per romance. No risk.
Any no matter what kinda choice the characters make, they are all gonna be nice, you know?
There is one thing in the finale of the game that is kinda risky, I will admit. But I will not talk about that yet, because I knwo a lot of people have not finished the game.
But for the most part the game does not risk anything.
And really, that is the core of what folks call "Marvelfication". Because pretty much this is also the issue with Marvel and Star Wars and pretty much all American made media: Outside of some smaller productions, some of which do well with the tumblr crowd but barely get any attention from mainstream audience (*coughs* Interview with the Vampire *coughs*) there is little risk taken. The humor is the same everywhere because this humor is considered safe. The characters feel kinda samey everywhere, because those characters are safe.
It is why I have stopped going to the cinema, because these days there are barely any movies I consider worth watching. It is ironically also why I have recently watched a whole lot more Japanese stuff, because it is easier to find stuff there that does not play it that safe.
It is also why I do these days mostly consume western stuff that has a 18+ rating on it - because at least with that stuff I know that it probably is not gonna play it "safe".
I just wish some media took more risks. I want those medium budget projects back, that cost like 30-50 million, so can make a profit with 100 million at the box office, without doing billions. I want some stuff in there that is not a big IP. I just want... stuff.
Right now I am looking at the soon end of What We Do In The Shadows, mostly because it is one of the few things on right now that does some risky stuff. And I miss those SyFy low budget originals, because some of it was kinda risky. Ugh.
The issue is not Marvel. It is not even Disney. It is that the creative industries in the US right now mainly put out big budget stuff that because of that big budget needs to be loved by everyone.
And look, I am trans. Hence I absolutely do see some value in the fact that Bioware clearly took position and said: "Okay, we get to do one risky thing, so that thing is gonna be to incluse a variety of trans characters." Which I love and respect. But I kinda wish the game had not been quite that pretty and instead also included a bit more edges on the characters.
... But I guess in the end there is still fanfiction, where I can still make the characters messy. lol

Your Violet Incident series is halirous, and I just HAD to write grandpa Time.
-
Wind was, in simple terms, fucked.
He darted through the crowd, ducking under arms and around legs. The shopkeep remained in quick pursuit, yelling obscenities as he shouldered through the crowd.
âThief! Stop him!â the man hollered. Wind dodged a hand that reached for his collar. He hadn't even stolen anything this time, dammit!
Wind kept an eye out for a red tunic or blue scarf. He didn't really want to cause another Violet Incident, but right now, it was the only thing he could think of. It was embarrassing, sure, but nothing subdued an angry shopkeep quite like an angry mother.
Wind glanced back at the wrong time, tripping over someone's foot. He scrambled to get up, but before he could, a burly hand grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back. Wind gasped in pain.
âI got you now, punk,â the shopkeep growled, roughly pulling Wind upright.
âLet me go! I didn't do anything!â Wind kicked at him, gasping again when his arm was pulled farther behind his back.
âExcuse me,â a familiar voice glowered. Wind looked up. Maybe he did have a way out of this. He would have to apologize to Time later.
âGrandpa! H-he's hurting me!â Wind cried out, adding a pathetic sniffle in there for good measure.
Time glanced at Wind with an exasperated look. Luckily, most of Timeâs expressions passed for a glare to someone who didnât know him. Time fixed his attention back on the shopkeep.
âPut down my grandson.â Time took a menacing step forwards. Wind choked back a laugh, hiding it as a strangled sob.
âHe's a thief!â the shopkeep scoffed, although the fear in his voice shined through. How the man wasn't pissing himself, Wind was unsure.
âNo I'm not!â Wind struggled. Noticeably, the man didn't twist his arm any more.
âPut him down and we can talk about this like adults.â Time put a hand on the man's arm. A crowd had begun to form, murmurs drifting through the town square.
The shopkeep reluctantly let go of Wind. Wind darted forward, plastering himself to the front of Timeâs armor. He grabbed on tightly, making a show of sniffling and shaking. Time placed a protective hand around his shoulders.
âWhat did you think he stole?â Time asked flatly.
âW-well, there was this dagger-â the shopkeep began a description, shifting nervously.
Time kneeled down, making a show of patting Wind down. Wind complied while Time checked his pockets and bag, sniffling all the while. âThe only dagger on him is the one I gave him for his tenth birthday. Unless you want to claim my best friend's craftsmanship as your own, we'll be on our way.â Murmurs drifted through the crowd as Time turned on his heel, bringing Wind with him. âCome on, Vincent, let's go find your mother.â Wind choked down laughter.
âVincent? Really?â Wind laughed once they were back at the inn. Time crossed his arms.
âGrandpa? Really?â Time parrots back, raising an eyebrow.
âWhat options did I have? Would you like to be Grandma instead?â Wind huffed.
You know, there is no delight like finding other Violet Incidents out there that I didn't have to write myself!!!
Vincint, oh my Hylia, that's gold! If Wind wasn't already known as 'Tune' in Warriors' time than I would have loved to give him a nutty name, but I love Time being the grandpa!!! And, I mean, Legend did technically name Time as Kit's Dad back during Violet Without The Violet, so Wind has his excuse lined up for him!
I love this, Thank you for this lovely pick me up!!!

Since Critical Role's big endgame battle has begun (as of ep. 113) and looks to give us a fair handful of Lv. 20 combat across the board with VM and later the Nein - and also since the Omen Archive are yet to do a level up overview for Bell's Hells to Lv. 15 like I expected them to do after ep. 112 - I find myself optimistically and curiously wondering how Bells Hells would shape up should they reach Lv. 20.
Admittedly, I do remain worried about how underleveled they are; I know it's intended since the Hells are the 'underdogs not meant to be in this position' group but still, for comparison Essek debuted at Lv. 15 in C2 and Vox Machina ended their campaign at Lv. 18 when the stakes were slightly lower than what we have with Ludinus, the Vanguard, the Imperium, and Predathos. Still, with nothing we can do but pray they make it out alive - and I hope they do - I've decided to indulge that rare bout of optimism and deep dive into what would their Lv. 20 state look like? While also considering what they may add during this final arc should they level up in between like they did the last time they were on Ruidus.
We're gonna go through each character one by one for this, so I'll start with my favourite (aka the one I wanna talk/ramble the most about).
Ashton is perhaps the easiest endgame build to tell class-wise, it's likely Tal will have them go the full 20 since Grog has already done the Fighter dip and there's not many other multiclasses that can be of a greater benefit to them; the intrigue however with Ashton focuses on the ASI they get at levels 16 and 19, the first one particularly if there's still a level up mid-battle. The obvious route for the first ASI is to get back the CON they lost in the shard incident - which I still find an unfair penalty since they gained nothing from surviving the bold and deemed impossible action, 'your reward is you get to live' doesn't stick with me given that the 10 rolls (well, 9 plus the resurrection ring) are proof of survival anyway - and absorbing Dusk Hunger sadly didn't give back, adding to their DEX instead - which, also kinda stubborn of Matt, adding 1 AC isn't exactly worthy of absorbing a legendary item especially compared to what Orym got with Ishta, they were better off trying to dual wield it if Matt's not gonna give stats that'll suit Ashton's wheelhouse, STR and CON, and let the tank be a tank - so it will likely fall into Tal's hands to get Ashton's stats to where they want them to be. Either way, Ashton's STR and CON are going up if they hit Lv. 20 as pure Barbarian, Primal Champion adds 4 to both and increases their max to 24, so without ASI Ashton will have 22 STR and 20 CON by Lv. 20 anyway, with ASI however Ashton can go 24/22 in either direction - and we can't rule out more absorption in the future, since Legendary loot may be yielded from this endgame battle plus Otohan's Backpack, Zathuda's storage cloak and maybe any other armour from the two could be Legendary items just gathering dust among the group, but if Ashton were to take any of them they'd have to wait a day since the Harness only grants 1 permanent and 1 temporary buff per person, and each person who uses it on the same day risks it breaking by 20%. However, we also can't rule out Ashton taking a feat instead of ASI, it's a slim chance but there are some feats that can be of use for Ashton in general or specifically vs Ludinus; Mage Slayer, Strike of the Giants (Hill or Stone Strike, of the two I'd go for Hill because of it causing the prone condition, which will help Ashton and allies, like Orym with that 1d6 extra Force Damage, stack critical damage), and Great Weapon Master could be powerful if they don't focus on ASI. The Tough feat is always good for being tanky too, but such a feat would likely only be used at the Lv. 19 ASI/Feat domain to get the most out of it. The only other places Ashton can get major potential buffs - outside of any new enchanted items that aren't armour - are from Dunamancy and their Titan powers, but neither have provided a clear opening for improvement as of yet. Ashton hit their final Dunamancy path at Lv. 14, where they got Mark of the Messy End (which compared to Essek getting access to stuff like Reality Break doesn't seem to balance out but I guess Wizards are glass cannons so Dunamancy does more with them), but there is a quiet, lingering mystery over how Potions of Possibility and Luxon Beacons will behave if Ashton and their Dunamancy brain interacts with them, given how they have many potions on hand, in general and gifted to them by the Kryn Dynasty before they met with the Nein, and Ludinus using Luxon Beacons as power sources, there is potential for Ashton's Dunamancy to increase that way - or simply through Matt adding an extra Dunamancy path in place of an ASI/Feat, a Dunamancy-based feat, or swapping Primal Champion with something else. The Titan Form could also improve by level, and I kinda hope it does, it's powerful but given the time limit and Exhaustion it's still below the level of Grog's Titanstone Knuckles in terms of utility, if more power or less limitations are imposed the higher their level it could scale Ashton up further in a similar manner to having a Vestige or, in Orym's case, a Relic of the Red Solstice.
Speaking of Orym, you'd assume that he'll also go for the clean 20, but this is Liam O'Brien we're talking about - he gave Vax a Druid level for his love of Keyleth, so you can't put it past him to add a level in Bard for Dorian. Like Ashton, Orym has 2 ASI waiting for him at levels 16 and 19, due to maxing his DEX - and absorbing Ishta overclocking it (a DEX increase that actually makes sense as a Finesse blade Fighter, adding +1 to AC and attack rolls and a higher DC for enemies to save against superiority die attacks) - Orym has already dipped into feats a lot but could always find room for more. Great Weapon Master, Shield Master, Mage Slayer, and Tough again at level 19 are viable options for Orym and his build, but there's also a unique option of, instead of taking a level in Bard, Magic Initiate: Bard in lieu of Dorian; taking the feat lets him gain the 4th attack Lv. 20 Fighter yields while adding some handy Bard magic such as Friends, Thunderwave, Command, Bane or Cure Wounds - all of which are Level 1 Bard spells. While adding a level in Bard would be a nice gesture, the Magic Initiate feat would probably work better for Orym's build if he wanted to reference his connection to Dorian this way, since he doesn't need 4 extra 1st level spells and he already has a lot of proficiencies and bonuses to cover his rolls anyway, plus he still carries the sending stone if he doesn't want to do either. If he went for ASI, Orym could try to rival Ayden's passive perception by buffing his WIS, but I doubt anybody would hold it against him to be less perceptive than a god. Regardless of ASI and feats, a pure 20 in Fighter does up Orym's lethality immensely, getting a potential 12 attacks with two Action Surges - the second gained in Lv. 17 - in one round (16 attacks if hastened and 17 if hastened and a Time Rage Mark of the Messy End - which I believe allows you to attack with Bonus Actions - is used on an enemy), which would make him an extra efficient killer and protector for combat, which suits his character as well. While multiclassing is an uncommon trait to reference a partner, in Orym's case it's probably moreso cute but unnecessary flavouring.
Adding an element of their partner into their build is something Imogen has done already with decent effect, however. Imogen is another pure 20 likelihood; she has 2 ASI, a Metamagic choice, her final Origin Feature - Warping Implosion: essentially you teleport and anyone within 30 feet will be caught in a gravity fissure - and Sorcerous Restoration - 4 sorcery points restored per short rest - waiting for her at the full 20. As alluded, she already has Laudna influences in the Shadow Touched feat and a vial of her blood in her equipment so she needn't use a feat or a multiclass in further reference to her, which means it comes down to what options she chooses for her ASI/Feats and future skills. With her CHA maxed out already, the two ASI would need to go elsewhere or to feats; War Caster could be used to help her concentration spells, such as the reskinned Hunger of Hadar, Telekinesis, and Investiture of Lightning, unused spells such as her mother's Reverse Gravity, Hold Person, or Globe of Invulnerability, or future 8th-9th level spells such as Dominate Monster, Gate, and Mass Polymorph (turn them all into horses!). Otherwise using one of those ASI to add 1 to INT and WIS will add to saving throws of those stats (+1 for INT and +2 for WIS), she can also remove all her stat negatives by adding an ASI to her STR in place of a feat. Imogen also has options with choosing a final Metamagic from Sorcerer; she has Quickened, Distant, and Twinned Spell already, so the next one needs to also be helpful in combat; the potential of Extended and Transmuted Spell are decent, but Heightened Spell may be the best fit for her - spending 3 Sorcery points to impose disadvantage on a spell save can be very useful when using Imogen's spells such as Psychic Lance, especially against powerful magic users like Ludinus. Going a little extra meta with things, Imogen at Lv. 20 is only going to exist in one-shots or guest appearances - which means short rests aren't likely to faze her as much, also recovering 4 out of a total of 20 Sorcery Points per short rest isn't a lot when you get all of them back after a Long Rest. If Imogen were to pull a swerve and multiclass she could simply sacrifice an ASI for an 18/2 split or just take a 19/1 dip without it doing any negative effect to her current build. Of the multiclassing options, I find that the Tempest Cleric could gel pretty well with her build; connecting her lightning magic and her storm analogies (and her attempt to reach out to the Stormlord) from a narrative perspective, while combat-wise she'd get to use Wrath of the Storm to damage anyone that attacks her (as many times as her WIS, so 1-3 depending on her ASI usage) and, if she goes for the 18/2 split, she can use the class' Channel Divinity to max out a spell's lightning damage - which if used on a 9th Level Lightning Bolt is 76 damage without enhancements! - she also gets some minor healing to add to her repertoire, and with a group without a pure Cleric you can't really have a shortage of players who can heal even if it's a little bit. I can't see any other dip doing her as much benefit, so the full 20 is more likely, even if the maxed out Lightning Bolt would work wonders.
You know who also knows Lightning Bolt? Well, a fair amount of players and NPCs but also Dorian! Let's talk our Boy in Blue - no I did not say 'Blue in Boy' in my head when typing, shush! - he's our last PC likely to be a pure 20 of the group, also because the rest have already multiclassed, but like Imogen there is also the opening for a little bit of multiclassing. The ASI in levels 16 and 19 are probably best put into maxing his CHA stat that's currently at 16, DEX could also go up to 20 for additional Gambolcleft damage but the sword is pretty powerful as it is - it depends if Robbie wants Dorian to focus on Spell or Melee output for stats, but casting is probably the better way to go. Not many feats would help Dorian outside of maybe Tough and War Caster, perhaps Slasher but they do seem like minor additions he can go without, so ASI is likely the best route to take for him. Unlike with Orym where a dip in Bard wouldn't do much good mechanically, Dorian could easily take a dip in Fighter and have it be a solid investment; the Bard's Lv. 20 ability Superior Inspiration only helps if you've used up all of your Inspiration, and as said with Imogen that probably won't come up in a one-shot scenario where Lv. 20 Dorian would likely appear, but by Lv. 19 he will already have added spells from any magic class via his final dip into Magical Secrets - and honestly I have no clue what one he could take because like, all of the spells! Wish is probably the go-to one but Dorian doesn't want anything from the gods so maybe not? - and he'll already have a 9th level spell slot from earlier levels. A 1-level dip in Fighter can give Dorian Second Wind for some self-healing and another Fighting Style to choose from: either Superior Technique - like Orym has - or Duelist would suit best, and if Robbie sacrifices an ASI he can go up to a 2nd level for Action Surge, which is handy should he focus on melee. There aren't many other 1-level dips that would suit Dorian narratively, there was probably Warlock potential in EXU: Prime when the crown was in play but since, again, the group lacks a pure healer, Dorian is probably better off investing his stats and skills towards Bard spells - which in turn bolsters DPS as well as healing.
From one Bard/DPS healer to another, Braius debuted with some pretty high stats to begin with, with only WIS being a negative modifier. As a 12/3 multiclass he can go a few different directions - much like his character arc and selection of deity - but it leaves him at a crossroads - also like his character arc. The 12 levels in Oath of the Ancients Paladin means he's locked out of getting Bard's Magical Secrets, if he maxes out his remaining levels in Bard he gets 2 ASI, a College of Tragedy feature (make crits be at rolls 18, 19 and 20 after an ally is hit with a crit plus a '+10 on a roll but a -10 penalty on the next' skill), Countercharm, and his Bardic Inspiration dice will go up to 1d8, but all of those are kinda covered by Dorian's higher level Bard class and Ashton's Mark of the Messy End while in Luck Rage to a higher or better extent. The 3 levels in Bard however has locked Braius out of Paladin's Aura improvements and the big Elder Champion buff, which is a big loss, if maxed out in Paladin they'll get Cleansing Touch - end a spell on yourself or anyone you can touch as many times as your CHA, one ASI, a 5th level spell slot (handy for Banishing Smite, Circle of Power, Destructive Wave, and Summon Celestial), and Undying Sentinel - which is just a once-a-long-rest Relentless Rage with no CON save. Build-wise, it would be best for Braius to go one of three different paths; either go for a 15/5 split - so no 5th level spell but he gets 1 ASI, Undying Sentinel, and Font of Inspiration for the 1d8 inspiration - a 14/6 split - where we swap Undying Sentinel for the college feature, or go the unique path and add a third class - while the 5th level spell slot has powerful spells Braius' combat is much more melee-based so it is a less likely option. A 14/3/3 triple split sacrifices his ASI/feats but 3 levels in Fighter gives him another Fighting Style, Action Surge, Second Wind, and a Fighter subclass to add to his combat prowess. One unlikely Fighter subclass that could suit Braius is the Rune Knight; with 3 levels Braius will have access to 2 runes, which can be tied to his character's artistry, to add to his gear - the Fire and Cloud Runes being the most useful to him from what I see - they would also get Giant's Might as a skill for an extra 1d6 of damage once per turn. Fighter isn't the only class Braius can benefit from though; he would only need to dip 2 levels in Cleric or Druid to gain their subclass-based abilities; a Shepherd Druid would give the group a slight benefit with the Hawk Spirit skill, using a reaction to attack with advantage and having advantage on perception checks, but similar to Imogen he'd probably benefit a bit more from dipping into Cleric - particularly Grave, War, Ambition, and Peace Domain Clerics, who each have abilities that can further empower him. A dip in Barbarian would be handy for Danger Sense - not so much Rage because you can't use spells - maybe opting for the Zealot path subclass, which also suits narratively, for an extra 1d6 damage, or a dip in the Monster Hunter Ranger to aid in picking out weaknesses. A 12/4/4 split could also work, forgoing Cleansing Touch to grant Braius 2 ASI or feats if Sam wanted them; with that they can balance their WIS to 10 and then max out their CHA and another +1 elsewhere, or just do a feat like Fey Touched - since he was touched plenty by a Fey Hag all across her manor - to max the CHA and gain a spell like Hunter's Mark to aid in combat.
Speaking of Hunters, Chetney may not have been designed to survive the campaign but with Travis rolling the fatal 0 when playing as Grog that old man is still, somehow, kicking. If Travis doesn't pull a Bertrand and allows him to continue defying the odds and live to Lv. 20, Chetney would be in a similar position to Braius - having gone the Tealeaf route and locked himself out of the full 20 in Blood Hunter by having a dip in Rogue - in being in a crossroads of classes. If he invests his remaining levels in Blood Hunter to 19, he still gets a lot from the class; 2 Order Features (advantages on bloodlust saving throws and on any branded creature, then unlimited hybrid transformations on the next feature), 2 ASI, and an extra Blood Maledict. Chetney's 1-level dip in Rogue however means he could also invest into any Rogue subclass for a 17/3 split (or a 16/4 split if he sacrifices a Blood Maledict for 2 ASI over one) instead; Assassin would help his damage output especially since he likes going Invisible, but the Revived subclass would be funny implying that he died but miraculously came back and no longer needed to risk dying in his sleep because he doesn't need to sleep anymore. Chet could also triple class like we suggested with Braius; 3-5 levels in Artificer - since he's a toymaker his toys can be infused beyond the enchanted distractions, going for the Armorer subclass can also be handy for the Thunder Gauntlets ability too, 2 levels in Fighter - for Action Surge, 2-4 levels in Monk - which has decent potential if his chisel is made a dedicated weapon plus the possible boons from Kensei, Mercy, or Open Hand paths, or even 3 levels in Ranger - where Hunter, Gloom Stalker, and Monster Slayer subclasses each have skills that could help Chet in combat, can all be seen as options, but it can also run the risk of being overcomplicated. Despite a Feat sidestepping Chet losing control in his Hybrid Form, logic says that Chet would likely stick with the 19/1 route since the feat only imposes a disadvantage against losing control and he can still do collateral damage, character-wise he'd likely want to keep his Lycanthropy on lock as much as he can. Plus, going to 19 Blood Hunter levels yields unlimited transformations and the second ASI hits at Lv. 19; with the two ASI - which he cannot get from triple classing - he can max out his STR and buff up his CON, DEX, and/or CHA for any additional bonuses, he has no negative stats so any are fair game. I don't see any feats that'd be too helpful, but outside of AC or DC boosts from increasing CON or DEX, upping CHA could also help with persuasion and being persuasive and tricksy.
Persuasive and Tricksy are some of many words you can use to define Fearne, who is also a Rogue multiclass. Her current 10/5 with Wildfire Druid as the majority allows her some wiggle room for her to go a few different directions. The 5 levels in Rogue have locked her out of a second ASI in Druid, the timeless body (not really a big deal for a fey), additional Wild Shape perks, and the 9th Level Spell Slot though, but if she invests only into Druid levels for the full 15 she does still gain one ASI and her Wildfire Feature 'Blazing Revival' - where once per long rest Mister can sacrifice himself (I don't think it's a permadeath sacrifice just like an 'off the board until resummoned' sacrifice) to revive her to half HP if she's downed - alongside a 6th, 7th and 8th level spell slot. If she goes for an even spread of 10 levels each with Rogue's Arcane Trickster however, she gains 2 ASI, 2 more proficiencies, Evasion, Magical Ambush, and a few more lower level spells. Both have valid directions - and as much as Fearne is a 'collector' I think a third class probably won't suit her and will perplex Ashley further - for her character even with mixing the level splits; a 12/8 split will grant her 2 ASI and a 6th level spell slot, while a 14/6 split grants one ASI, a 6th and 7th level spell slot, the Blazing Revival, and 2 proficiencies. Since Fearne doesn't do many sneak attacks and uses her Rogue abilities more for pickpocketing, it would probably be sensible to lean more towards Druid; a 15/5 split if she wants that 8th level spell slot for Sunburst, Incendiary Cloud, or Feeblemind, but a 14/6 split if she can do without - Plane Shift could narratively be on her radar so she can travel to the Feywild as she pleases, but Fire Storm is still a mighty 7th level spell that can be additionally buffed by her titan form which as mentioned with Ashton could also potentially scale up with levels - would give her more stuff to work with, plus extra Druid Levels buffs up Mister's health so he could be looking at 75-80 total HP (5+(Druid Level x 5)) depending on whether Fearne goes level 14 or 15. Since Fearne took War Caster already from her last level and her WIS is already maxed out, ASI to CON could be looked into to add health, AC, and DC, while also improving her chances at holding concentration for her saving throws, alternatively she can up her DEX to improve her pickpocketing so she can finally claim one of those eggs, since she's tragically 0-2 on that. Feat-wise, there is still the Elemental Adept: Fire feat to bypass enemy resistances to Fire too, lots of enemies will have Fire Resistance after all, so if she doesn't want to use ASI there is still that to use it on. So level-wise there is some wiggle room but class-wise she is better off picking one to focus on.
Our final member of the Hells Laudna has already picked her focused class; on a 12/3 Sorlock with her patron bound to a soul anchor - get fucked Delilah - she has implied to go pure Sorcerer from herein. Marisha has previously stated that she saw no gain in any more Warlock levels even when Delilah was still active and while a 6th level in Warlock would grant her an ASI at Lv.4 and unlocks Grave Touched - change damage to Necrotic plus 1 extra damage die when in Form of Dread, which is pretty solid - it does indeed suit narratively for Laudna to avoid more Warlock levels. The 3 levels she has gained from Warlock though have (war)locked her out of her final Sorcery feature of Umbral Form - which would've made her resistant to everything but Force and Radiant Damage, so like Braius' Primal Champion it's quite the loss - but she still looks to get Shadow Walk which aids her mobility, providing that there's darkness or shadows in the vicinity, as well as one ASI and another Metamagic option by continuing the Sorcerer's path, not to mention a dangerous 9th level spell slot. Unlike Imogen, Laudna opted for Empowered Spell in her current Metamagics alongside Quickened and Twinned, doing Heightened or Transmuted probably wouldn't suit Laudna like it does her partner though. Instead, Careful Spell could be a good choice for Laudna since her CHA is maxed out, so she could pick 5 creatures to auto-succeed a saving throw to a spell she sends, but since she doesn't have many AoE spells Extended Spell may be the better fit to keep up concentration on spells like Animate Objects, Mirror Image, or any future powerful concentration spells she'll have access to like Eyebite, Globe of Invulnerability, Reverse Gravity, or Blade of Disaster - which Delilah used pretty effectively in Aeor - ongoing. Even so, the one ASI remains; the Amulet of Health puts her CON to a fixed 19 so if she added one CON it'd be 16 without attunement, which is still pretty good but worthless if she just keeps using the amulet, she could put +1 in her woeful STR so it's a -2 rather than -3, or opt for feats such as War Caster - for those powerful concentration spells - or another Eldritch Invocation with Eldritch Adept, such as Armor of Shadows or Eldritch Spear, which may be more fitting for her fun scary nature.
And that's all of them, for a TL/DR I expect Ashton, Orym, Dorian and Imogen to do the pure 20 for their classes, while Chetney will go 19/1, Braius and Fearne go 14/6, and Laudna goes 17/3. But if it were me, the only ones I'd adjust from those would be Dorian (19/1, adding Fighter), Imogen (18/2, adding Tempest Cleric), and Braius (14/3/3, adding Rune Knight Fighter) just from a meta/fun perspective. Either way I'll just be happy to see them make Level 20, so fingers and every other digit I have stay crossed for whichever route they choose.

Currently working on my own fix-it fic but man this shit is harder than I thought it'd be- I keep crying and then getting distracted reading other fix-it fics. Thought I'd share this snippet to hopefully motivate myself to keep going???
Hen was starting to wonder if maybe Tommy was out for a run when she heard a faint âoh shitâ from inside the house. She banged on the door again. âCome on Kinard! I know youâre in there!â She called out. If Tommyâs neighbors thought she was crazy, oh well, too bad. Hen really didnât care.
Finally the door was opened by Tommy. His hair was a mess- sticking up as though heâd been running his hands through it far too much-, he had deep dark bags under his eyes from lack of sleep, his eyes were puffy from crying, and frankly, he looked like shit. âWhat do you want, Hen?â Tommy rasped. Whether his voice was hoarse due to dehydration or yelling and/or crying was unclear.
âTo talk about what happened last night.â Hen crossed her arms.
âYou mean youâre here to yell at me for what I did?" Tommy guessed. He hadn't forgotten the thinly veiled shovel talk from Hen and Karen months back at the medal ceremony- he wasn't surprised Hen was here now. âTrust me I hate myself for it enough. Thereâs nothing you can say that I havenât already thought about myself.â
âNo. Iâm here to try and understand what even happened. According to Eddie, Buck wasnât making very much sense last night. Eddie wouldâve come himself to check on you but heâs got Buck right now. Eddieâs worried about you and frankly, I am too.â
Tommy sighed deeply and stepped aside to let Hen into the house.
Soon they were sitting at Tommyâs kitchen table with mugs of coffee in hand.
âSo are you gonna tell me what happened or are you just gonna keep having that staring contest with your coffee?â Hen questioned.
âHe asked me to move in with him.â Tommy admitted quietly.
âOkay,â Hen said slowly, waiting for Tommy to explain further why he was upset by it. Beyond the obvious matter of Buck leasing his loft apartment and Tommy owning his house, Hen wasnât sure what the issue was.
âFor a split second, I thought about saying yes.â Tommy confessed. âThen I returned to reality and realized I had to end it.â
âBut why?â Hen questioned.
âEven if it was only for a second, Hen, I was ready to, what? Sell my house and more than half my stuff to move in with him? Iâm not even mad about that part- Iâm upset with myself for considering it. Iâve been in Evanâs position before, first gay relationship, lovesick, you think itâs gonna last forever. And Iâve been the first for guys before too. Like I told Evan last night, I know how it ends. And I guess Iâd rather break my own heart than wait around for Evan to do it.â
âIf youâve been so sure all this time that it could never work, why did it take until now for you to call things off?â Hen questioned.
âI think from the start I knew I was playing with fire. After the last guy I was a first for, I told myself I wasnât going to do it anymore. Then I met Evan, and he was just so magnetic, I couldnât stay away even if I wanted to. I couldn't say no to him. I think I always knew my heart would get broken, and I guess I was okay with that all this time, until last night when I realized I love him, and I knew I had to cut myself off before I reached a point of no return.â Tommy explained. âI mean, Iâm a fucking a mess right now and I was the one who called it off. I donât know if I wouldâve been able to survive him ending it.â
âDid you really just figure out last night that you love him?â Hen asked.
âI guess I sorta loved him from the start but last night was different, Hen. Iâm in love with him, like well and truly love him, in a way Iâve never felt before, about anyone.â Tears filled Tommyâs eyes. âAnd Iâm just his first. And as badly as I want it, I know I donât get to be his last.â
âWhat makes you so sure you canât be his last?â Hen wondered.
âBecause Iâm not the forever guy." Tommy shrugged slightly as a tear finally escaped and slid down his cheek. "At best Iâm the close-to-but-never-quite-enough guy."

Hiya Miss Wendy! Iâve been doing a check on the Vaquitaâs population every now and then for the last couple of years and I just wanted to go out of my way to thank you for spreading some awareness about them in cs, theyâve been one of my favourite creatures for years, even before I found castle swimmer! Unfortunately however their populations have dropped even lower to just 6-8 individuals, I was just wondering if you could respond to this publicly with literally anything or briefly post about them so that more people, particularly those who may have forgotten about them/their low numbers, can see, and maybe just spread more awareness, no pressure! I would just love to see if thereâs any way to get more awareness out on them, Iâve made a poster or two for them before but not many have really seen them, nor have I seen many posters of them myself, your story is pretty much the only place Iâve seen anyone else spread any awareness about them, and I am so grateful that you have, I especially love the symbolism in their mysterious illness and markings it causes, though I truly hope fiction remains fiction in the sense that I hope they donât all end up dying out :â]
Hereâs a poster Iâve made too! I made it in hopes of helping educate people and spreading awareness as memorably as possible, Iâll probably be posting it on a few platforms myself of course, sorry that this is so long, but I hope you enjoy the poster if nothing else, have a lovely day and thank you for at least reading this and for making such an amazing piece of media!!
I love the poster you made! I think it works really well!
And yeah I think I want to do a reminder about the Vaquita on the episodes themselves because they get the most views. I also want to add them to the books but Iâm not sure when each book is coming out and it feels farther away.
A few things:
Check out porpoise.org for more info. You can donate there or subscribe to donate 10 bucks a month to help with the conservation efforts (If you have the means to do so) the same goes for seashepherd.org
Also check out flee_bites who is more educated on the Vaquita than I am.
Here is a thread by them: https://x.com/flee_bites/status/1653879957049815057?s=46&t=83zTD1mrR7lomd69vRrJfw
The low numbers of the Vaquita seem really shocking but it IS still possible to save them.
I am not an expert on the Vaquita by any means nor am I an expert on conservation but I do care a lot about these creatures and I think itâs important to spread info about them especially since most people have no idea they exist.

âMija, you can go on ahead to the clubâ I raise my head to watch my parents dressed up for something other than the country club. âWe will meet you for dinnerâ My mother nods to my fathers words, sending a smile over to me.
âRemember to talk with Francine about the partyâ They didnât wait for an answer, already halfway out the door. Ever since I could remember we barely spent time as a family. It was rare to get them at dinner so I knew that they werenât going to be back for dinner. They remembered birthdays and holidays but other than that, nothing. They were there for some school events but I stopped letting them know about the few last ones my senior year because I felt like I was begging for attention.
âÂĄBye Hon!â My dad screamed as the car backed up in the driveway. I closed the door and turned to get my purse.
âYou need me to tell Jerry to get the other car ready?â I look over, shaking my head.
âNo, thank you Ruby. I will drive myself todayâ She gives a gentle nod before walking away. As I get into the car I think of not even going but then I turn it one and I think I could skip the country club for today and maybe go to the beach? Then Francine comes to mind and I lose all hope of having a nice day by the waves. Once Francine sees me at the club she will make sure I stay there and I have to see her because she is part of a wedding I am helping plan. Francine is an old friend of my parents, like a second mother and since she has no kids she bestowed that onto me. I make my way to the club and before getting out of the car I take a deep breath and walk in.
âMiss, so glad to see you, how are your parents?â I jumped, hearing the enthusiastic voice from the club's host.
âThey are doing greatâ
âThat's amazing to hear, well enjoy your eveningâ He smiles quickly before running off to his next victims that were just walking in.
âAlone again?â I closed my eyes trying to calm my beating heart down again. People need to stop doing that.
âI feel like I should be reciting Shakespeare right now?â My head moved up seeing Rafe lean over the balcony. Light salmon pink shirt with a fresh buzz cut and the never missing gold ring. âO Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?â I lift my hand mocking chivalry. Rafe chuckles, shaking his head.
âSo that makes me Juliet?â I shrug my shoulders
âFuck that, there is no shame in a woman senerating a manâ He stand up straight and with a smile, he looks down.
âWell continue my lady,â
âDeny thy father and refuse thy name;â Why was I giving it my all? I laugh inside at my stupidity right now. âOr, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and Iâll no longer be a Capulet.â
âYou always had a way with wordsâ He smiled leaning back to his original pose.
âYes,â Our heads turn to see Francine walking over to me with an unamused look. âWords she decides to keep hidden,â I smile respectfully, giving her a hug. âHello Rafe,â I held an amused grin on my face. She was literally throwing daggers at him. We knew she didnât like him, can you blame her? Rafe has a reputation.
âFrancine-â She didnât wait for him to finish before grabbing my arm and pulling me away from the clubâs entrance and onto the garden.
âI thought you two were no longer friendsâ
âWe are not,â I said rapidly, I lied quickly on my feet.
âI hope not, he's not a good boy for you my love,â Another smile, what I wanted to say was, âI know what i'm doing. I am too smart to fall for Rafe Cameron but if I did, I will take the blameâ I only nod at her said advice. âNow, how about we talk about the wedding?â For a good hour I was following her along the country club and making notes on what exactly she wanted for the wedding. More flowers, clear chairs, mirrored floor, a release of butterflies, and no color other than sky blue and white of course.
âWhat were you thinking about the ceremony?â She lets out a quick squeal before rushing towards the cliff which was only a small hill with some height overlooking the beach. I walked quickly to see what she was pointing at with such a huge smile.
âWe agreed on the beach,â I hear a contempt sigh leave her lips. Her shoulders fall and her eyes soften at the vision of the bride getting married there. âCanât you see yourself there too?â Too focused on her happiness and excitement, her question caught me off guard. I look down again but quickly shake my head. âYou have planned such beautiful weddings, where do you see yours?â
âI canât set my mind on one,â I chuckled nervously. It wasnât the whole truth but it wasnât a lie. Of course I know what I have wanted for my future wedding since I was 6, but as a wedding planner there was one thing I hated the most about planning and it was the grooms. All they did was walk behind the bride, nodding and smiling. Agreeing on everything. I want to think it's to make them happy because a wedding was made out to be more for the bride but hearing the groom speak they let out subtle comments about no caring. I want my future husband to care. I want him to be present in what is the beginning of our future. I want him to be the bridezilla along with me.
âWell donât settle for only this viewâ She pointed out. âYou can have a destination wedding like somewhere in Italy.â Her eyes grow bigger, âOr the south of France!â She jumps giggling at her ideas. âI am going to go look at venues now, you know how easily they can book up!â There was really no use in saying it was too early to think about my wedding because nothing can change that woman's mind when she gets this excited about something.
âI need a drink-â I closed up my book and was ready to leave when I heard a voice from the shore.
âI got an extra beerâ My gaze meets Rafe holding a beer up. âIs it too trashy for you my lady?â My eyes stay glued to him and a small smile appears on my face. âI donât know any Shakespeare if that's what you want to hearâ His arm slowly falls to his side. I look over to the country club and catch a glimpse through the window only to catch Francine rushing out of her office.
âNot trashy Cameronâ I smile as I take a seat on the hill. âBut I donât drink beer,â I carefully push myself off and balance myself to walk down the steep hill until I am standing in front of Rafe.
âWorth a shotâ He shrugs, putting the beer in his pocket. âI know you donât drink at all.â I shake my head noticing he only had one beer in sight.
âHoney?!â Our heads turn toward the top of the hill to find no one there but the scream of my name becoming louder and louder. Francine can wait another day
âHow about you offer me an escape?â With a glimmer in his eyes he grabs my hand and rush's us down the shore. I take a glimpse unsure of the object but as we move closer I start to laugh. âYou bring this everywhere just in case?â My breath is shaky, I am not used to running. I look back seeing the figure of Francine screaming out to me but I choose to turn back to Rafe.
âWho knows when a lady needs my saving,â He puts out his hand for me to take and I oblige. He helps me up to a small row boat and I take a seat on the furthest end.
âNeed help?â Rafe shakes his head pushing us offshore and he rushes to get in. âDaddy wouldnât let you use his yacht?â I smile. I look over to the horizon, as the sun meets, perfectly creating an orange hue.
âNo,â He groans, making me chuckle at his annoyance. âDonât want to risk leaving it unsupervised since those pogue pulled their little stunt on Toppersâ
âYou always ruin it with your talk about pogues,â I roll my eyes looking back at him again. His arms stop rowing at his eyebrows furrowed.
âIt 's true!. Little dirty pogues who donât come close to us should be taught a lesson soon and for goodâ I never associated myself with what he would call somebody a pogue but that's because I donât see them as such. My life has consisted of following my parents and at school and work I am only surrounded by people who are considered good. I never leave my bubble. But money or no money, people are people. As long as you are a good person, you are rich in my book.
âYou know,â I look straight into his eyes. âYou always mentioned how little Francine makes you feel, do you realize that's how you try to make them feel?â. His small smile falls into a straight line. âWould you want me to treat you less just because of some stupid status?â
âIt's not the same, those pogues!-â
âAre human Rafe,â I let out a sigh knowing this conversation was just like the past. âHuman beings who werenât blessed with opportunities we have. They work day and night. It doesnât matter what their bank account says if they have a good heart.â I move closer to him. âI know you have a good heart too Rafe.â I move my hand under his chin to pull him closer. âThat's why I choose to disobey my parents and Francine once in awhile,â
âWe tried this once alreadyâ He whispers. A slight smile appears on my face remembering how I like and feel having him this close.
âI still have hope,â His forehead rests on mine and a slow breath leaves him. âIt was wrong of me to try to change you,â my thumbs caressing his skin.
âI was acting too proud and stubborn. Everybody saw me as such so it angered me.â He opens his eyes, putting a bit of space between us. âI was willing to try but I didnât want to disappoint youâ
âIt wasnât a choice for you to decide what is right for me. I told you I didnât care about what anybody said and if it went down in flames, I could handle that.â
âBut you donât deserve-â his words paused as I came closer. My lips on his but only for a longing quick kiss to shut him up.
âYou put yourself down when I see you more than worthy. Worth the eyes of people judging. Worth the scolding of my parents and definitely worth the hours of talk Francine is sure to give meâ I hear his chuckle along with mine. âDo you think we should try this again?â He nodded eagerly, grabbing my neck and pulling me closer but I was quicker and set my hand between us first. âRulesâ
âFineâ He groans, pulling apart. He shakes his head before turning his body towards me. âDate night twice a week,â My head falls back in annoyance. When we first tried having a relationship it was hard to adjust. I wasnât allowed to have a boyfriend and Rafe knew this and decided to stick around. Of course, not being my boyfriend, I wasn't allowed to go out past 8. Not to any party or bonfire by the beach. I was also busy with school and starting my job as a planner to make time for him. That was bad on my part and we had a lot of fights because of it. I also didnât like going out much, more of a homebody.
âFine, but one at home dateâ He whispers okay. âNo Pogue talk unless necessaryâ We need to talk about the important things first.
âGot it.â He smiled at that?. âWhen Francine is present you give me my place,â I roll my eyes.
âShe is a strong woman but I promise.â I would defend him when need be and when it's reasonable. âbut if I have to throw myself against her you have to promise not to back down when not only Francine stands against youâ my parents can be a handful too. I watch as he stands up placing his hand on his chest. I laughed mostly because the boat was rocking unsteadily. âRafe!â I hold on looking up at him again.
âIt isnât what we say or think that defines us, but what we do,â I stood up carefully and was shocked at his words.
âYou donât know Shakespeare but you do Jane Austen?â
âYou left a copy of her book behind and I got bored,â I rolled my eyes knowing that wasnât true. âBut back to my confession,â I look back as we try our hardest to stay steady. âI will prove to them that I am willing to be someone they see worthy of you.â I walk closer, placing my arms around his neck.
âThe only opinion you need is mine, and I think you are worthyâ I whisper as he lowers his head to meet mine.
âI have seen enough!â I turn around shocked but only to see a blurry Francine at shore screaming towards me. âGet back here young lady!â Those were the only clear words heard before Rafe and I went flying into the water. My body resurfaced laughing at the action. I look around finding Rafe swimming towards me.
âAm not ready to face the world yetâ I smile hopeful towards him.
âAnd am not ready to face Francine yet so how about we row away?â I nod turning towards the boat. âYou donât have a curfew?â I groan hearing his laugh from behind me. He pushes me up and I slide into the boat.
âNever got to be a rebel teen, I think I have some headaches to make up for,â I turn to help him climb in.
âThen let's go.â he smiles, taking his place and rowing away. âThis is not a good look on my part.â He laughs looking back at Francine. âWill definitely be hearing about this,â
âSuch a bad influence,â I grin looking at him. âGuess what?â His eyes sparkled hearing my giddy tone.
âI saved your beerâ My grin grows bigger as he laughs. I throw him the can and with ease he catches it.
âThat's my girlâ his girl.

The Line - Part One
Reader and John have always straddled the line between playful flirting and taking things further. However when they are forced into a safe house and a secret comes out will they be able to save what they were heading for or is all lost.
Reader x John Price, Ghost, Soap, Gaz, Laswell, Original characters.
Warnings: Angst, fluff, flirting, a bit of light smut. Death and killing on missions. Father of reader's death mentioned. It will get pretty angsty for a bit.
Authors note: I used to write on Tumblr in a different fandom for a long time and then left. Now I'm back under a different name and I hope you like what I have to say.
Y/N couldnât remember a point in her life that wasnât geared towards being in the military. It ran in her family, going back generations. Her father was one of the most famous marksmen spoken amongst anyone in service. He was made for combat and dreamed of having a son to follow in his footsteps.Â
When his first child was born he held his wifeâs hand and admired her strength as she delivered their addition to their family. The first moment he looked into Y/Nâs eyes he fell madly in love, no longer caring about succession. All he wanted was happy, healthy children. He was then gifted with 4 more girls.Â
As she grew up though Y/N showed vast interest in what her father did. Always asking questions, begging him to teach her how to shoot a gun. She kept herself in shape and made sure to do well in school.Â
When she turned 15 she told her father she wanted to join the military when she turned 18. He sat for a while saying nothing and she started to feel a bit anxious.Â
âY/N sweetheart can I ask you why you want to join?â He finally spoke
She paused to think about her answer, wanting to convey exactly how she felt.
âIt feels right. I want to do something with my life that matters, I want to feel like Iâm a part of something bigger than myself. I see the camaraderie you have with the men in your unit and I want that too. Itâs in my blood dad, just like itâs in yours.âÂ
âYou do understand that as a female it will be a long hard journey for you?âÂ
âIf I work hard enough though and Iâm a good soldier it shouldnât matter though right?âÂ
âOh sweetheart I wish for you that was true. However, almost all the time all they will see is that you're a girl and deem you less than themselves.âÂ
âWell Iâll just have to prove them wrong. And besides I wonât be doing it for them.â She said with determination in her voice.Â
He sat for a bit longer and then reached over and put his hand on hers.Â
âWhatever you need Iâll be there.â He said with a smile.Â
âI want to do this on my own though.â She explained. âNot saying I donât want you to be there for me. I just donât want to rely on your reputation and the family name. I want to prove to myself and to you that I can do this.â
Her dad understood but was still worried for his daughter.Â
She joined up at 18 just like she said she would and despite her determination her father had been right. It was hard for her, and there were times when all she wanted to was give up but that wasnât in her. So she fought harder, trained longer and pushed herself to limits she didnât even know she had. She was top of all her classes and was the best shooter on base.Â
In fact she was so good that she was asked to join a special program in the UK for top marksmen. Again she pushed herself to the limit but it paid off. Her reputation sored and eventually she was recruited by Captain Price to join his team. The 141 became her brothers in arms and the family she always admired her father for.Â
The last time she saw her dad he told her how proud he was of her. She did what she set out to do, all on her own skill and determination. He now felt that the part of him that wanted a successor was fulfilled in ways he could only have dreamed of.Â
He died of a heart attack 6 months later and it destroyed Y/N.
Now a year later, Y/N was laying in the mud high above the target zone, the ever vigilant sniper. Ghost was positioned opposite her, giving them both a complete view of any threats that may arise and compromise the mission.Â
This year had been rough for the 141. They had been chasing the same target that seemed to elude them no matter what they did. The target was a man named Bako, a once low-level member of a drug empire now turned kingpin. Using violence and betrayal he has taken out anyone or anything that has been in his way. He has plagued the team for far too long and has become an increasingly dangerous threat.Â
After all the escapes, near misses and wrong information the team finally got confirmation that he would be here, at this warehouse, meeting with his high-level partners. The plan was to bring the building down on top of them all, ending this once and for all.Â
Soap, Gaz and Captain Price were currently approaching the target area quietly in a small boat. Y/N watched through her scope as the three men climbed out of the boat and made their way quietly across a small patch of grass that separated the water from the warehouse. The first thing she noticed is that Price had switched out his usual bucket hat for a baseball cap. Y/Nâs core clenched, remembering a deal they had made a few months back.
They had been on a hard mission that had kept them away from the base for three months. After they all had showered, slept, and decompressed Soap was convinced they all needed a good old fashion BBQ to let off some steam. Kate agreed so her wife and her decided to host at their place.
Ghost and Soap were sitting at the picnic table while Y/N sat on a chair in the sun, wearing a pair of shorts and a v neck white t-shirt, trying to get some colour on her unusually pale legs. Beside her Gaz was going on about a girl he had invited that he was excited about. Granted he had only spent one drunken night with her before their last deployment.Â
âSheâs smoking hot Y/N, and smart.âÂ
Y/N glanced up over at him, shielding her eyes from the sun despite wearing sunglasses.Â
âAnd you're sure about this one? Cause the last girl you were seeing went a bit crazy when you had to leave on missions. She called the Mexican embassy trying to find you. We werenât even in Mexico.â Y/N reminded him
âOr what about the girl who was convinced you were sleeping with Bells and then tried to pull her hair out at the bar?â Soap chimed in and Y/N reached up and rubbed the side of her head.
âTook me by surprise. She was lucky I wasnât armed.âÂ
âYeah or that oneâŚâ Ghost started but Kyle interrupted him.Â
âThis one is different. I have a good feeling about her.â He smiled at them and Y/N felt a bit bad for him.Â
âIâm sure sheâs lovely Gaz.âÂ
He nodded at her looking proud. She chuckled thinking about the ways Ghost would intimidate her without even trying.Â
âAhhh good timesâ she mumbled and was about to take a swig of her beer when she froze the bottle half way to her lips.Â
Price had just walked in wearing form fitting jeans, a slightly tight, black shirt and an army green baseball hat. He looked fucking amazing. Y/N bit her bottom lip and shook her head.Â
Beside her Gaz waved his hand in front of her face and she looked up to see him, Ghost and Soap all looking at her, grinning.
âYou ok there Bells?â Ghost grunted smugly.
âFuck offâ Y/N said with a grin despite being slightly embarrassed at getting caught drooling over their Captain. âAnd in this moment, if you're going to use my call sign, use the whole thing, dickhead.â
âApologies Belladonnaâ Ghost said and then raised his beer which Y/N reciprocated.Â
She took a long sip of her beer to wash down the heat that was creeping up her neck as well as creeping downwards.Â
After putting his beer in the cooler, Price grabbed one and headed over to the group and nodded at them hello. Everyone either nodded back or mumbled a hello.Â
âYou four are unusually quiet.â Price said reaching over and using the picnic table to pop the cap off his beer.Â
âWe were just asking BellsâŚâ Soap started but Y/N interrupted.Â
âWe were actually just talking about the new girl Gaz invited to the BBQ.âÂ
âYou invited a girl here?â Price said and then chuckled. âIs this one, mentally stable at least?âÂ
Y/N got up, deciding to grab another beer, making a point to walk by Soap and smack him on the back of the head causing Ghostâs shoulders to shake while he silently chuckled.Â
Price glanced over at Y/N while Gaz started telling him about his new girl.Â
He almost fully turned around to watch as she bent over to grab her beer out of the cooler but then stopped himself.Â
âDamn those are some dangerous shortsâ He thought to himself and felt his jeans becoming a little tighter.Â
He turned back at Gaz who was just staring at him.Â
âJesus Christ, the two of you.â Gaz shook his head and then walked over to talk to Kate.Â
Price went over and sat at the picnic table.Â
âWhatâs he on about now?â Price asked and Soap and Ghost exchanged glances.Â
âNo clue sir.â Ghost said, not wanting to be the one to point out the obvious.
The conversation naturally flowed then into football and the comment was forgotten. About an hour that consisted of chit chat and laughs, Kyleâs new girl showed up with a friend.Â
Immediately Y/N got a bad feeling about them.Â
Nancy was perfectly manicured, with her makeup and hair done up a bit much for a backyard BBQ. She had on a pair of white capris with a blue sleeveless blouse and wedges. Her friend looked like a copy and paste version of her.Â
âHey everyone,â Gaz announced to the group. âThis is Nancy and her friend Becca.âÂ
For an awkward moment, no one said anything or made a move to introduce themselves to the girls. It was Kate that broke the silence and walked over.Â
âNice to meet you two. Iâm Kate. Kyle has told us all so much about you Nancy.âÂ
âAwe heâs just the best isnât he?â Nancy said, grabbing on to Gazâs arm.Â
âWe certainly think so.â Kate said with a forced smile. âDo you girls want a drink? We have beer in the cooler.â She gestured over to the cooler on the deck.Â
âOh we donât actually drink beer.â Becca said with her nose scrunched up.Â
âYeah we are wine girlies.â Nancy said in a playful tone.
âUm ok, yeah we have some wine in the house. Do you prefer white or red?â Kate asked.Â
âDefinitely white.â Nancy said looking over at Becca who nodded. âYeah weâll take white.âÂ
Beside Y/N she heard Ghost mumble âGods give me strength.â Which caused her to smile.Â
She then looked over at Price who was looking at her with a grin on his face and she grinned back.Â
âYou better go introduce yourself Cap. You are the leader of the team after all.â Y/N teased and he cocked his head at her with an amused look on his face.Â
âOnly if you come with me.â He retorted and Y/N laughedÂ
âYouâd have a better chance of convincing Ghost to join you.âÂ
âDonât even ask sir.â Ghost said, getting up and walking in the opposite direction of the girls just to be sure.
âGo on then.â Y/N sighed and stood up motioning at the girls.
Price stood up and then smacked Soap lightly on the shoulder.Â
âYou too Soap.â
He groaned but stood up reluctantly. Â
âPlay nice you two.â He warned and they made their way over to where they were standing.
Gazâs face lit up seeing them approach.
âNancy, this is my Captain.â He said proudly.Â
Price smiled back and then extended his hand.
âPleasure to meet you.â
âOh Captain! Thatâs a fancy title.â Nancy said and then placed her hand in Priceâs facing downward as if expecting him to kiss the back of her hand.
Instead he awkwardly shook her hand while holding on to the ends of her fingers.
âCall me John.âÂ
âAnd this is Johnny and Y/N.â Gaz said motioning to where her and Soap were standing.
Nancy looked over at them and then stuck her hand out the same way to Soap, while completely ignoring Y/N
âSo many handsome men on your team.â Nancy said while looking over at Becca who was shaking Priceâs hand.
âI agree.â Becca said with a smile.Â
Y/N rolled her eyes and then turned around without saying a word, walking over to Ghost.
âHow was that?â He asked and she just knew he was grinning under his black surgical mask.
âWhen Gaz makes his way over to you for introductions, and he will, do me a favour and scare them enough so they leave yeah?âÂ
Ghost chuckled beside her.
âYou a bit jealous there Bells?âÂ
Y/N looked over at Becca who was currently squeezing Soap's bicep. She watched as Price took a slight step back to avoid the same treatment.Â
âGot no reason to be.â She said with a satisfied smirk.Â
âBecause youâre pretty confident those girls arenât Priceâs cup of tea?âÂ
âWhy would that matter to me? Heâs a single man who is extremely good looking, and has a nice⌠everything.â She let out a sign at the last word causing Ghost to audibly laugh.Â
âOh love you got it bad.â But then his voice turned serious. âHope you know what youâre doing.â He said cautiously.Â
âWhat does that mean?â She said a slight frown forming on her face.
âJust donât want ya to get hurt is all.â He said with a shrug.
She took a second to swallow the lump in her throat and then plastered on a fake smile.
âHey you know what I always say. Can't get hurt if you donât catch feelings.â
âSo itâs purely physical then?â He asked, turning now to face her.
âOf course.â She replied but they both knew she was lying.Â
âY/NâŚâ he started but he was interrupted by Gaz calling out to him.
âWell, it looks like itâs your turn.â she said relieved as she slowly turned and started making her way over to Kate.Â
âDonât you fucking leave me.â Ghost hissedÂ
âSorry I think Kateâs calling me, I think she needs help with the grill.â Y/N called over her shoulder and then laughed.Â
âYou know there are people out there who are scared of me.â He called out after her
âAnd Iâm not one of them!â She called back.
Y/N watched out of the corner of her eye as Nancy and Becca were introduced to Ghost and he made no movement to reach out and take their limp hands.Â
When they started grilling him about his surgical mask he stayed silent but when Becca reached over and squeezed his arm, telling how beautiful his eyes were, it was his breaking point and he turned and walked away without a word. Y/N heard Gaz say something about Ghost being shy and Becca giggled.
âI guess weâll just have to break him out of his shell.â She said in a high pitched voice.
âOk food is ready!â Kate called outÂ
Y/N was disappointed because she really wanted to see Becca try.Â
They all sat down and ate the amazing food, constantly complimenting Kate and her wife saying it was one of the best meals they had had in a long time.Â
After eating everyone was lounging around patting their full bellies. Price was sitting behind Y/N in one of the chairs smoking a cigar and talking to Kate.Â
Becca and Nancy approached Y/N who was currently tidying up the picnic table.Â
âHey, youâve been avoiding us.â Nancy said slurring slightly while pointing her finger at Y/NÂ
âHave I?â Y/N said, mocking her playful tone.
âYou have, but thatâs ok. Iâm sure weâre going to be great friends eventually. Now we wanted to ask which one of these guys do you belong to?âÂ
Behind them Price and Kate halted their conversation to pay attention to what was happening now in front of them.
âI donât belong to anyone.â Y/N answered with gritted teeth.
âOh donât be like that, you know what I mean. Which one is yours? We donât want to be stepping on any toes here. Weâre trying to find a match for Becca.âÂ
âI figured that much.â Y/N replied tensely.
âYeah, being a soldier's wife would be so cool! And like theyâre never home but you get all this respect for serving your country. How great is that?!âÂ
Y/N was about to tear into her but she felt a hand grab hers.Â
âWatch it love. We wouldnât want to ruin Laswellâs lovely BBQ would we?â Price whispered in her ear and closed her eyes, suddenly very aware of how close he was.Â
She clenched her jaw when he let go of her hand and went back over towards Laswell, but remained within grabbing distance.Â
âOh perfect, youâre with the old man! He wasnât even on our list of candidates!â Nancy said excitedly.Â
âNot on your list?â Y/N said, her voice slightly raised âHe should be on the top of that list!âÂ
âI mean we totally get it, for you he is but heâs just like not our type.â Nancy replied and Becca nodded.
âOh but heâs a Captain! You must have amazing benefits! Especially like that death one.â Becca started and Y/N lunged.Â
Before she could reach the girls though an arm wrapped around her waist and picked her up dragging her towards the house. Behind her she could hear Nancy and Becca still talking.
âWhatâs her deal?âÂ
âNo clue, letâs go talk to that scary one again. I bet heâs hot under that mask.âÂ
She was struggling to get back out to the yard when Price finally put her down in the kitchen.Â
âLet me go back out there. I promise not to kill them.â Y/N said while pacing the kitchen, Price was now blocking her only way out. âJust maim them a bit.â
âHmmmâ Price grunted, standing with his arms crossed in that way that Y/N loved. His fingers tucked under his arms, his thumbs pointed up and his hips jutting out. But she didnât notice, she was too mad.Â
âDeath benefits! Death benefits. Sheâs talking about fucking death benefits like itâs the lottery.â Y/N went off still pacing. âTheyâre just out there looking to sucker one of you into marrying them so they can get your fucking benefits.âÂ
âNot me.â Price said amused. âIâm not on their listâÂ
âYeah thatâs another thing, not on their list. How can they look at you and not want you?âÂ
âWell,â Price said, walking over to Y/N and standing in front of her causing her to stop pacing. âIâm on your list and thatâs all that matters to me.âÂ
Y/N blushed and then smiled slyly.
âAnd am I on yours?âÂ
He started slowly walking towards her and she was taking small steps backwards until she was against the kitchen sink. He leaned over and put his left hand on the counter beside her.Â
âYou are the whole list.â he said quietly and then grabbed the bottom hem of her shorts, his knuckles brushing against the skin of her thigh. âEspecially in these.âÂ
Y/N felt her skin tingle and heat up but also felt a nervousness in her chest. They had never been this close to stepping over the line that separated play and real. Ghostâs words echoed in her mind âDonât want you to get hurt.â A slight frown formed on her lips and immediately Price started to back up.Â
âSorry, that was tooâŚâ He started but Y/N grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him back.Â
âDonât you dare.âÂ
He looked down at her lips and then further down before looking back into her eyes.Â
âAre you sure this is what you want? Because we have been playing this game for quite a while and once we cross that line I donât think I could ever go back.âÂ
He moved his knee in between her legs and she let out a soft moan as she rocked her hips forward against it.Â
âDoes that answer your question?â She asked, flattening her hand on his chest and slowly moving it downward.Â
âGod woman.â He hissed and was about to slam his lips down onto hers when they heard Gaz calling out his name.Â
âFuck.â Y/N cried out and slipped out from in front of Price who moved forward, pretending to be doing dishes.Â
Gaz walked into the kitchen and looked at the two of them confused.Â
âWhatâs going on?â He asked looking over at Price who wouldnât turn around.Â
âNothing, weâre not doing anything?â Y/N replied quicklyÂ
âDishesâ Price added behind her.Â
âYeah dishes. Weâre doing dishes.â She then picked up a dish towel to sell the story.Â
âOk⌠well Nancy came up to me and said that you were acting weird and looked like you were mad at her.âÂ
âRight, that.â Y/N sighed, relaxing slightly. âGaz I want you to look at me and listen to what Iâm saying alright? Hard no on Nancy.â
âWhat? But..â He sputtered but Y/N grabbed him by the shoulders.Â
âGaz she was talking about death benefits and how youâll never be around. She may be nice looking on the outside but on the inside she is ugly.âÂ
Gaz sighed and then looked out towards the backyard.Â
âCould I just enjoy the outside for a bit before I send her packing?âÂ
âNO!â Y/N and Price said in unison.Â
âFine. Iâll get her out of here.â His head fell and he made his way back outside.Â
Price stepped away from the sink and Y/N handed him the dish towel to dry his hands. She stood still facing away from him, her hands on her hips with her head down.Â
âWe should get back out there.â She sighed and then looked up at the ceiling.Â
Behind her even though she couldnât see him, Price nodded.Â
They were silent for a moment and Y/N felt his hand rest lightly on her hips and leaned over to whisper in her ear.Â
âWear those shorts again for me sometime?âÂ
âJohn,â She said quietly and he pushed his hips into her with a moan, hearing her say his name. âYou wear that hat again and youâll see me in a lot less.âÂ
He groaned and nipped at her ear. They stood there for a minute and then John reluctantly let her go.Â
âOk we really need to go out back.â She said turning around to see John trying to adjust himself.Â
âYou go, I'm going to need a few minutes here.âÂ
After that they got busy at work with missions, training, paperwork and stakeouts that took over their lives and they hadnât had a chance to be alone once. John went back into Captain mode and it was starting to feel like the BBQ was just a fever dream Y/N had. She spent many nights thinking about that moment and what could have come next. It was driving her to the point of insanity. Â
But now, seeing John in that hat, she knew that he was suffering just as much as she was.Â
âI guess a deal is a deal, Cap.â Y/N said into the coms quietly.Â
Price looked up at her direction, smirked, nodded and gave her a quick wink causing her core to clench.
âEyes on the prize here folks.â Ghost said in the coms. âI want to get this over and done with.âÂ
âRoger that.â The rest of the team replied.Â

Part 9 -- Part 11
Series Masterlist
As you calm down, Jake waits until you tell him to before he lets you go. He can't imagine how much you might need this so he'll hold you for as long as you want.
You sniffle and shake your head as you gently push away from him. "I'm sorry about that," you splutter.
"No need to apologize," he assures. "It's been a really crazy couple of days. Probably a lot longer than that for you."
"I should get to work on the dishes." You try to move past him but he holds out his arm.
"I said I'd do the dishes," he reminds you. "Not only did you cook breakfast, you cooked a lot more food than you should have. The least I can do is help out with the clean up."
"You had to actually talk to them," you quietly argue. "I just sat and refilled drinks."
"You also really helped me out, reassured me when I was feeling lost," he gently countered. "Please let me do this for you?"
It takes you a minute of internal waffling before you tell him, "okay. And thank you."
As you start tearing up again Jake is quick to ask, "are you okay? What's wrong? Do you need another hug? Are you hurt?"
"I'm just...I'm just not...not used to such kindness," you confess as you wipe the tears away.
"Doing the dishes for you is more than you're used to?" You nod and Jake feels a renewed wave of anger at your family. "Would...would it help if you supervised my cleaning? Make sure I'm not cleaning your cast iron by putting it in the dishwasher?" Your eyes go wide and you gasp, but he's quick to smile and reassure you that he would never do that. "It's one of the few cleaning things I will forever know, if only because it came up in a trivia night one time."
The giggle escapes before you even knew it was forming. You slap your hand over your mouth, embarrassed but Jake's eyes are lit up. Everything in his body language tells you he's not angry or offended at your outburst, but happy about it.
"If you want me to ignore that, I will," he comments. "But I would be happy to acknowledge it!" He looks at you like an excited puppy eager for praise and you can't help but continue giggling from behind your hand. He starts shaking with excitement but he's not saying or doing anything because you haven't said if you want it acknowledged. Unfortunately that's just making your fit more uncontrollable.
You remove your hand and gasp between fits, "it's okay. I'm so sorry. I don't know why I'm laughing this much. I'm sorry."
Jake lightly bounces as he assures you, "it's okay! There's nothing to apologize for! Sometimes a thing just tickles your fancy. It could also be a response to all the stress you've been through. When was the last time you had a really good cry? Or a really good laugh?"
"It has been a long time," you sigh, keeping your head down as you finally get your laughing under control.
"So, would you be willing to supervise me in the kitchen?"
"That sounds nice," you nod.
"And you promise to correct me if I do something wrong? Or before I do something wrong?" You hesitate at that. "I promise I don't want to upset you. I just...we're going to be going to a lot of parties soon. I'll have no idea what I'm doing. I'm going to need your help." You look up at him, eyes a mix of emotions. "I...I get the impression you're not...you don't correct others." You lower your face in shame. "Hey, it's not...I get why. I really do! It's not a judgment, I promise!" Jake's tone becomes a little more frantic, but no less pleading, soft. "And I'm gonna need your help to not make an ass of myself at these parties. That includes correcting me or stopping me before I do something stupid. The kitchen supervision could be a good way to practice that for us?"
"That...that makes sense," you agree. "I promise to try?"
Jake smiles, "thank you so much, Sharky!"
"Sharky?"
"Sorry, I'm used to friends with nicknames," he quickly explains. "And, I figured you...you like sharks so much you literally studied them...I swear it sounded better in my head." His face looks chagrined as he rubs his hand on the back of his head.
"I...I've never really had a nickname before," you tell him. "I kinda did when I was studying, but it was definitely derogatory." Jake's eyes turn sad. "Derogatory regarding my background. No matter how much work I did, I was still called 'Princess' because of my family." You shake your head to dispel the memory. "But 'Sharky' sounds a lot nicer." You give him a soft smile that has Jake's heart fluttering.
As the dishes get loaded into the dishwasher and the others await the required handwashing, you decide to ask Jake about something that's been bothering you.
"Your father," you hesitate, knowing it's a sensitive topic. "He mentioned something about your niece?"
Jake sighs, the smile on his face dropping. "You remember my sister was engaged to Travis?"
"Of course."
"I got her out of it by, essentially, hiding her far away from here. She met someone, fell in love, and they had a daughter." Your eyes widen slightly in surprise. "She's only 8 years old," he continues. "But she's super stubborn, like her mother. Smart, like her father. And she's damn good at soccer, minus some bad calls from a ref."
You smile a little at that. It's very clear he cares a lot for her.
"But my parents found out about her," he continues. "They hinted that they know where she and Sarah live and they flat out told me that, unless I agreed to marry you, to be the obedient son they always wanted, they were going to marry her off to your brother."
You gasp at that. You knew your parents were determined to solidify power and position by combining the families but you didn't think they would go so far! And to your brother, who would be twice her age upon marrying her! Your blood freezes as you think of how badly he'd hurt her.
"Hey, Sharky? You okay?"
Jake's voice breaks through the bad memories, "sorry. I just...I'm happy to help you keep her safe."
"Thank you for that."

Donât forget, you can find more of this under my âarranged witching auâ tag!
--
Marriage ceremonies were quick for their people. They had no rites to their roots. Sometimes, a marriage was as simple and private as lovers whispering 'I promise myself to thee' and starting to sleep in the same tent.
Rooted covens apparently needed a spectacle.
Steve ground his teeth together. That wasn't fair. Their marriage ceremonies had purpose to them. Their rites to their families and to their homes were important. Besides, there were other rites that needed to be seen to as well, more important ones, that would take more time. The marriage ceremony would take up time so that they weren't sitting on their hands, growing more and more anxious with nothing to do while Howard and Maria Stark walked the boundaries of their territory.
They had to go through the rites that would cut Anthony's ties to the Stark lands by hand, for a lack of a better term. Step by step, they would have to break each one of his bonds with sheer force. He and Steve would have to be married before that, he'd been told, because he would have to be the one who nursed Anthony through it. The idea made Steve sick to his stomach. He hadn't realized that that was what he was asking for when he'd arrived wearing the Starks' ring. But Anthony had just grimly nodded along as Maria detailed what was to happen next.
"So," Bucky asked as one of the Stark tailors measured Steve for his marriage clothes, examining his nails.
Steve sucked in a breath, held it for three seconds, then let it back out, closing his eyes tiredly. "So?"
"Natasha said Mrs. Stark almost set the emblem on fire," Bucky continued blithely, shrugging.
Steve worked his jaw. His fingers were still singed from where he'd snatched the branded leather off the table, because Maria's face had twisted as soon as she'd seen it, and the edges had started smoldering. They still needed it to show other rooted covens.
Howard hadn't reacted at all, in the moment, but Steve had seen him whispering to Margaret Carter when he and his coven had been led to guest rooms. Ms. Carter's face had twisted into something almost like Maria's, but not quite. He wondered if they'd bring him into the fold before they left, but he also wasn't going to get his hopes up.
"She did," Steve finally answered. "Without any words or movement. She made it smolder with her rage alone."
"Oh shit," Bucky said after the words registered, blinking.
Steve had to agree. Most witches needed at least a gesture to cast a spell. But then, she was from a different country, he'd heard. Perhaps, where she was from, magic was taught differently. No coven practiced magic exactly the same.
Bucky came up to stand beside him, carefully out of the way of the tailor still flitting around him with a tape measure. "So," he said again, but this time there was weight to it, careful and considering.
Steve waited until the tailor stepped away, then turned, pressing his forehead to Bucky's shoulder. "He's hotter than the fucking sun."
Bucky bit back a bark of laughter, but his shoulder shook under Steve's head. "Oh yeah?"
"He has these big brown eyes," Steve continued, even as Bucky's shoulders shook harder with restrained laughter. "And his hair was flopping in them. But I don't think he missed a thing. He didn't even flinch when they talked about severing his bonds."
"Tough guy," Bucky murmured. "What are you giving him as a wedding gift?"
"Whatever he wants," Steve answered, even though it felt entirely inadequate. Luckily, Bucky laughed and took a step back, allowing them both to believe it was a joke, even though they both knew that Tony deserved something for having to be torn away from his coven straight toward war.

Hey, mama. I'm not American but I live in a country with very strict laws about LGBT and porn and stuff. And you know what, literally NOTHING changed with these laws. Noone can take your queerness from you, noone can forbid you be who you are (woman, man, non binary, whatever). But I've never thought you'd be THAT angry over something that didn't even happen yet. Don't you understand ppl vote against this anger ("fuck men", "make everyone uncomfy", "double the suffering and gelive it to trump")? I have no respect for anyone who's trying to take yours from you. But you're doing exactly what they want to do. The only difference is they are against queer and you're against straight. You can send me to hell or not reply in any way. But in a four year time you'll see, that your life didn't cange much. Trust me. People always find the way to do what they want to do. Breathe out girl. Everything's gonna be okay. Even if it doesn't seem like it now.
Yes, I will take this opportunity to âsend you to hellâ, thank you lol
This is all a backwards line of thinking. This isnât just another candidate thatâs running for President and another candidate that weâll move on from in four years; this is a man thatâs been elected President that will alter and change the trajectory of our country and our government structures itself. Democracy will no longer exist the way that it has for 250 years, if at all.
He has already made announcements of forcing the government to only acknowledge two genders, of punishing teachers with civil crimes if they try and teach anything but, of altering education in schools to only teach about man and wife, man and woman.
What do you mean, âbreathe outâ?
This is the man that overturned Roe v. Wade, that stripped women of the rights to their bodies. He appointed extreme and conservative Supreme Court Justices that will make similar decisions for this country until the day they die. This is the man that wants to force all women to have unwanted pregnancies at any age, for any reason, even if it might kill them and even if they are the product of rape. He wants to make it illegal for pregnant women to cross state lines, wants the government to track womenâs periods, wants to get rid of birth control as a whole.
âBreathe outâ?
He wants to make interracial marriage illegal, wants to make gay marriage illegal, wants to get rid of the Department of Education and radicalize education to where everyone prays in school and learns a very white-washed education (moreso than now) that focuses on how amazing America is. He wants to jeopardize school funding more than it is and wave it over districts heads as a threat. Public school and children will suffer more than it ever has.
Thatâs just scratching the surface.
It shouldnât matter that it hasnât happened yet; weâve barely recovered from the effects of his last presidency. The hate he encouraged and spewed is something Iâm not sure weâll ever recover from at all. It hasnât happened yet, but heâs outlined exactly how itâs going to happen and exactly what we should expect.
And you think I should take a deep breath?
Iâm happy that your life is exactly the same as it was before your laws were put into place. But this is WAY more than a focus on LGBTQIA+ communities. This is our entire livelihood. This is our entire government, country, communities, futures at stake. And this is extremely personal, even as a white woman in a straight presenting relationship. I canât imagine the fear that any woman or person of color or any trans person or anyone in a gay marriage is feeling.
Iâm angry for myself, my two young daughters. Iâm angry for the women in my life who have to put their future plans on hold or who have to decide right now if they want to get pregnant or start a family now and are mourning for the loss of it. Iâm angry for my best friend who is a woman of color who now has to wait and see if her marriage will end up being legal, whose safety I worry for every single day. Iâm angry for all of my trans friends who have to yet again question why this country hates them so much and doesnât cherish and love them for existing as they are.
Iâm angry. I feel rage in my body and spirit that I have not once felt before and thatâs with me being one of the lucky ones to receive generations of trauma and anger I have to work through. Iâve never felt anger like this, this stagnant, still, villain era anger. And Iâll be damned if I donât use it for good because I think itâs ridiculous of you to say that I should be quiet and let the other side, the side that instills fear in others and wishes to take away their very basic human rights, be louder than I am.
Fuck that to the highest degree.
Iâm about to use my privilege to scream my love and my support for those in need from the highest of mountaintops. And if that comes in the form of screaming my hatred for men, the patriarchy, Republicans, and conservatives directly back to them then I sure as shit will be doing that; they are the ones with hate in their heart who are wishing to take away the rights of others. I didnât vote for that. If my hatred comes in other forms like becoming a part of local community groups with like minds, supporting local and black-owned businesses, supporting my local library, educating my daughters to be empathetic and supportive, standing up for women in public if need be, then I will also sure as shit be doing that.
The world deserves my anger.
This was an ignorant ask to send. I donât hate straight people; thatâs just outright fucking stupid. I donât think youâre educated enough on the subject to be sending me an ask that is effectively telling me to calm down, WHICH IS SO FUNNY because thatâs what women are always told when theyâre hysterical, because this is much much more than just the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and another President being elected.
Sure, I hope youâre right and that everything is the same in four years. But youâre wrong.
Sure, Iâll breathe out. But then Iâm going to take a deep breath in and scream my support at the top of my lungs even if it comes in the form of hating men, conservatives, Republicans, and Trump.
Please donât pretend as if you know me. This is the internet, this is fandom, this is somewhat of a persona.
Yes, I am angry. I canât understand how people are not.

*banging pots and pans together* Goyuu gremlins, come get y'all fucking juice.
I say this as if I'm not inundating you in goyuu every week, but Gojou has been conspicuously absent from my current WIP for...10 chapters and over 70k words. A major character and one half of the endgame ship, and he shows up halfway through the storyâJJK has got me making more and more novel (in terms of my writing) narrative choices with each fic.
Gotta say, it feels great to get back into writing Gojou. Last time I tackled him was at the end of September, for the fem!Gojou no-powers oneshot. The necrofic from October beginning has a lot of Gojou, sure, but he's a...well, a corpse. Sinking back into goyuu banter and interactions felt like coming home.
Now, here's Demon/Hunter Horror Wednesday #9, featuring Gojou Sluttoru Satoru in the flesh.
Thereâs a man on the platform.
Itâs the height that startles Yuuji first. Heâs freakishly tall. The tallest person Yuujiâs seenâunless he counts Sukuna, which he wonât. Besides, this guyâs all legs, and itâs weirdly fascinating how they move, smooth and graceful under shiny pants reflecting the platform lights. They eat up the platform with long, languid strides, getting closer and closer andâ
Yuuji blinks, dragging his eyes from the manâs legs to a face thatâs a lot closer than he expects, even though he has to crane his neck to make eye contactâkind of. The manâs wearing sunglasses, those thick black ones that show nothing of whatâs underneath, so Yuuji just ends up staring at his own distorted reflection.
His eyes are wide, his mouth a little open. Yuuji closes it, his teeth clicking together.
The height isnât the only startling thing about the man. His hair is a shock of white, messy strands covering his forehead and even falling over the sunglasses. And Yuujiâs got no leg to stand on when it comes to people with eye-catching coloring, but thereâs still something about this man that makes it hard to look away.
âHi?â he offers warily.
âHello,â comes the answer, immediate and cheerful. âYou a local?â
âUh, yeah? I guess.â
A tilt of the head. Those snowy strands shift with mesmerizing motions. âThatâs not very reassuring.â
âWhyâŚam I reassuring you?â
The man claps, once. âGood point! Youâre not a serial killer, are you?â
Yuujiâs so confused. âNo?â
âHmm, you donât sound very sure about that either.â The man leans closer, which involves a lot of bending. Yuuji blinks at his reflection in the glasses, which blinks right back. âNah, youâre too cute to be a serial killer.â
âThanks, I think. Who are you?â
âGojou Satoru!â The man declares, straightening up and sticking out an arm. âAnd who are you, my young, uncertain friend?â
Yuuji takes the proffered hand. Itâs big, almost swallowing his whole hand when it closes around it. Thereâs warmth too, seeping boldly into his flesh.
âItadori Yuuji,â he introduces himself. âIâm very confused.â
âI did get that impression.â
âNo, I mean, youâreââ Yuuji shakes his head. âNever mind. Why are you asking weird questions?â
âHey now,â the man says, his lips pressing into a pout. Theyâre very shiny. And pink. âThose were very sensible questions. Thereâs no point asking for directions from a non-local, is there? And itâd be very unwise of me to put myself in the maw of a murderer.â
âWell,â Yuuji says, slightly less confused, âIâm not a murderer. And I do live here. Moved here a few months back. Pretty sure I can give you directions. To where?â
âA recent transplant. I see,â Gojou murmurs, his head still tilted slightly down. Despite the opaque glasses, Yuuji has the distinct sense of being looked at. âWould you happen to know the way to the Fushiguro household, Itadori Yuuji-kun?â
âFushiguro?â Yuuji repeats. âYou know him? Or are you here for TĹji-san?â
âBoth,â Gojou says, his smile widening. The glossy gleam of his lips doesnât hide how sharp the expression is, and for the first time, Yuuji really takes in the rest of his faceâthe chiseled jaw, the straight nose, the prominent cheekbones. A sharp face, but pretty too. Like Fushiguroâs, except that while Fushiguroâs soft around the edges, this man looks like heâll cut if touched. ââto me?â
Yuuji blinks back to himself, trying and failing to make sense of what Gojou just said. âHuh?â
That smile grows even bigger, flashing a hint of very white teeth. âI asked if youâre listening to me?â
âOh. No,â Yuuji admits. âSorry?â
Gojou hums, tilting his head like a curious cat. âI donât think you are. But Iâll forgive it if youâre a good boy and take me to the Fushiguros.â
Yuuji swallows, his throat very dry. âI could, butâŚâ
âBut?â
âHow do I know youâre not a serial killer, Gojou-san?â
Gojou snorts. Itâs an ugly sound, rough and nasal. Something inside Yuuji unclenches, like thatâs the proof he needed that this guy is human and not some abnormally pretty dream he conjured up. Itâd be a kinder dream than usual, but Yuuji canât trust his imagination anymore.
âIâm too handsome for that, donât you think?â Gojou asks, his grin grown lopsided.
âYeah, butââ Yuuji makes a sweeping gesture with his free arm, covering Gojou as well as the rest of the platform. âI donât think thatâs how it works.â
âSo there is a brain under all that pink fluff,â Gojou says, his tone weirdly approving.
âI donât think you get to talk about anyoneâs hair,â Yuuji points out, eyeing Gojouâs snow-white strands again.
But Gojou just tosses his hair like heâs in a shampoo commercial. âItâs all natural.â
âSo is mine,â Yuuji says drily. âNot the point.â
âOh? What is your point then?â
âSerial killing. I think.â Yuuji shakes his head. âWhatever. Yeah, Iâll take you to the Fushigurosâ place. Do anything weird and Iâll punch you.â
âCareful,â Gojou purrs. âI might be into that.â
Yuuji just looks at him for a moment, before taking in the rest of the platform with half a mind to foist this guy off on someone else. Thereâs no one, obviously. Itâs not like this place is bustling even during what was the rush hour back at Sendai. Nanami and Yuuji were alone the entire time they waited, and heâs pretty sure no one but Gojou got off from the train.
Plus, he probably shouldnât inflict this guy on anyone else. Yuuji doesnât think heâs a bad person or anything, but heâs kinda weird. And Yuujiâs pretty immune to stranger danger.
Except when he walks into cursed churches.
âCome on then,â Yuuji says. âItâs getting late, and TĹji-san usually turns in early.â
Gojouâs lips and cheeks do something very weird. âFushiguro TĹji has a bedtime.â
âUh, not exactlyââ
Yuujiâs cut off by demented laughterâfull-on cackling, filling up the open air of the empty platform. All he can do is watch, nonplussed, until Gojou calms down, and even thatâs startlingly abrupt, the noise stopping so suddenly that the resulting silence seems to boom.
âSorry, sorry,â Gojou says, not sounding all that sincere. âThat was just too funny. Guess the single dad life suits him.â
Yuuji thinks of what Fushiguro sounds like every time he has to talk about his dad. âIâŚwouldnât say that. Anyway, you coming?â
âSure,â Gojou says easily. âYou going to let me go first, or are we holding hands the whole way?â
âWhatâre youââ
Yuuji realizes the answer before he even finishes the question, blinking down at his own handâstill clasped firmly around Gojouâs bigger one. He lets go quickly, snatching it back. For a moment, he doesnât know what to do with it. Wiping it on his pants would be rude. And itâs not like Gojouâs palm was sweaty or anything. It was just warm, and Yuujiâs whole hand sparks like itâs stolen that heat for itself. He settles for folding his arms across his chest.Â
Gojou looks entirely too amused. âPity.â
âDonât tease me,â Yuuji grumbles, hoping the heat on his face doesnât actually show on the skin; he knows his odds though, and theyâre not good. Heâs about to march off, leaving Gojou to choose whether to follow, when something occurs to him. âWait, are youâŚâ
âYes?â Gojou prods after a moment, that curling grin still in place.
Yuuji squints up at him, specifically the sunglasses. He doesnât think Gojouâs blind. People wear sunglasses all the time, though heâs rarely seen ones so dark. And Gojou navigated the platform pretty easily earlier, no cane or anything. Still, the thought wonât leave his head, and Yuujiâs mind refuses to accept the vague sense of being watched as enough proof, so he asks, âAre you blind?â
âHow blunt,â is Gojouâs response. âI like that in people.â
âThatâs notââ
âan answer, Yuuji doesnât say because Gojou proceeds to give him an answer, raising one long-fingered hand to pluck his sunglasses off.
A maelstrom of blue slams into Yuuji.
Heâs seen blue eyes more than a few times. People he knew, people he passed in the street. Bright ones, dark ones. Then thereâs Fushiguro, whose eyes act like some deep-sea trench, shifting from dark green to depthless blue based on the lighting and his mood.
But heâs never seen eyes like these.
Itâs not just one shade of blue, but every blue, all at once. Thin threads of shuddering color, spreading out from pupils that swallow all light. Itâs breathtakingly bright, like the colors are reaching out of the eyes to claw at the air. Or maybe theyâre just swirling inside, chasing each other inside the confines of those irises.
A part of Yuuji knows that heâs imagining it, that Gojouâs eyes arenât actually nuclear ghosts. But that logic doesnât quite penetrate the blue haze in his head.
Gojou blinks, cutting off that stream of color, and Yuuji sucks in a breath like a drowning man.

SUMMARY | This short story provides a slice of Ruki and Yui's daily life after the events of More,Blood. Ruki has always had a preference for soup, but when Yui prepares a particularly hearty vegetable soup for him one day, he comes to an important realisation.

âThe first time I learned to appreciate soup was when I was in that dark cage.
âIt had already gone cold, but to me, it was the most delicious thing on Earth back then. It was infinitely better than the junk I ate while I roamed the streets, after all.â
âOhâŚâ
Somehow, as I ate the soup she had prepared for me, I had somehow started talking about all the reasons why I had this particular preference for the dish. The story had stolen the words right from her mouth.
âIâm sorry,â I said. âI shouldnât have brought up such an unpleasant story during dinner.â
âThatâs⌠thatâs not it,â she explained, hurrying to wipe the tears from her eyes. Thatâs not what I meantâŚâ
âDo you pity my past self?â
âPity kind of feels like⌠a high-handed way of putting it. I donât mean it like thatâŚâ
âI see.â My voice was monotonous while I spoke.Â
I took up my spoon again and continued to eat.Â
It was a simple consomme soup, filled with colourful slices of a variety of vegetables. The soup that we were served during our time in the detention facility was a far cry from this. Back then, the few off-coloured beans that floated in the soup, though they barely had any nutritional value, were enough to bring me at least an inkling of happiness.Â
While the memory resurfaced, it occurred to me that I had obtained true happiness since then, no matter how absurd it seemed.
âAnd to think a human would accompany me at dinnerâŚâ I mumbled to myself, earning a surprised look and a soft what did you say? from her.Â
Itâs nothing, I swiftly replied.
My life was saved by Him. The four of us had been destined to die a noble death in that filthy cell, and yet He had rescued us. Just like that, he became our god. Our saviour.
Someone to serve.
My brothers and I would do anything to fulfil his wishes without batting so much as an eye. And yet⌠What was I even doing right now?
I let her make soup for me like this. She willingly stayed with me all this time, even though she cannot become Eve. Even though I cannot become Adam.
âRukiâŚ?â
As we sat in silence, various thoughts stirring inside of me and picking at my resolve, I reached across the table to take her hand in my own.
â...?â
âSorry. Would it be alright⌠if we stayed like this for a little while?â I said, my grip on her small, soft hand tightening.Â
Greed is a grave sin according to God.Â
Considering that I agreed with Him, I was awfully addicted to this greed all the same. I was the sinner of all sinners, thriving on such atrocities. When a simple bean soup was all it took to please you, the first taste of a good vegetable soup makes it easy to take such happiness for granted.
âStill, I willâŚâÂ
Never let you go, I wanted to say, but I could not manage the words. She likely did not want to listen to the mutterings of such a weak, pitiable man.
It was difficult to gauge her thoughts, but it was then that she spoke with a gentle smile on her face. âDonât worry.â
âWhat?â
âIâll be by your side, Ruki.â
My eyes unconsciously widened in response. Her soft smile made my chest ache. She was Eve and I was her captorâshe should be miserable, and yet she was so extraordinarily kind.Â
Did she not realise that it would only add to my suffering?
âAlright,â I replied curtly. Then, ever so unwillinglyâŚÂ I let go of her hand. âThe soup is getting cold. Letâs eat.â
âYes, letâs.â
After that, we ate the soup together in silence.Â
I found myself thinking there was nothing in the world that I wanted more in that moment. No matter how lavish a meal I would be served, I would cherish this vegetable soup as my favourite dish for as long as I lived.
