Wax Mask (1992) is such a movie of all time. The 2005 House of Wax ... re-make, gritty reboot (?) is clearly trying to be Wax Mask instead. It's not succeeding. The director's barely concealed sexual fetish is a good thing, it adds so much to the dramatic flair. Directly rips off the ending of the original Terminator, for some reason. It's set in the early 1900s, but this guy is out here building a fully functional robot endoskeleton. What if the original House of Wax (1953) combined with Jack the Ripper, Terminator, and Hammer Horror Dracula movies, but Giallo? This is definitely a visual treat for the eye with luscious colors and theater like stage design, acting and plot development are secondary. There is a lot to unpack here as far as themes of sexuality and innocence and self reflection go, the layered intent makes it better while the whole of the movie is luridly exploitative, the gratuity of sex and gore both a surface level appeal to base desire and a deeper meditation on the same.

Oh yes please! Could you do prompts with slasher films like Tcm or Tcm2, House of wax, Behind the mask, the boy, Halloween, Friday the 13th etc basically any slashers will do!! I just need some inspiration I've been in a drawing funk lately and I would appreciate it!!!
Right so I'm basically just gonna ramble out ideas and you can pick out one ya like since this is basically a thrift shop in my mind. Basically just things I kinda wanna see more of.
House of Wax
The brothers being brothers. I fucking love seeing siblings existing happily. The best part with it is that you can literally just draw brothers' vibe with any genre so here's what I've been thinking about doing: (this is just as much for me as for you, lol)
Redraw that one scene Vincent finds Bo post-beating then where he cries out in anguish. In the same vein, there's angst in Lester's reaction to the town burning
So I think Vincent was actually the first one to start the murders, he might have lashed out. Mostly because I hate the "good twin/bad twin" motif in the movie and Vincent being the one that started the killing is fun
idk why but I have the distinct idea of Vincent needing Bo to sit pretty to get an updated mask mold
Again in the same vein, candle Vincent. Mans is dripping wax from his fingertips over a skull/person or some artsy fuckin shit like that.
Behind the Mask
Leslie Vernon is a fucking fanboy. He'd be the equivalent of a Minecraft stan but for Jason Voorhees.
I think he's another artistic type since he had to make that mask and make the clothes convincingly worn out.
It is morally correct to draw him stealing from other slashers.
I can imagine him stalking one of the bigger slashers just so he can figure out how to make them a marketable plushie.
Scream 1996
OK but like. Given the fact they're in high school, Stu probably poked so much fun at Billy for being a virgin.
Stu flirted with everyone's dad but in the "hetero man way."
Ghostface getting their shit handed to them is great inspo

based on ginger snaps i'd recommend the lure (2015), the witch (2015), the living dead girl (1982), stoker (2013), bones and all (2022) and carrie (1976) about blood thirsty/outcast girls who want to be loved :(
based on saw i'd recommend the collector (2009) & the collection (2012), my little eye (2002), cube (1997) and dread (2009) because they're all about being stuck in a trap/experiment with peak 2000s vibes/editing.
based on the lost boys i'd recommend near dark (1987), fright night (1985) and let the right one in (2008) because they're some of my fav vampire movies and the crow (1994), the craft (1996) and sleepy hollow (1999) for their beautiful goth visuals.
based on american mary i'd recommend may (2002), martyrs (2008) (with caution. i love it but it is Rough), the loved ones (2009) and audition (1999) because they're all disturbing movies about complex female characters.
based on scream i'd recommend urban legend (1998), house of wax (2005), you're next (2011), haunt (2019), totally killer (2023) and the cabin in the woods (2011) because they're all about (masked) killers starring cool female characters.

based on your favs you seem like someone who can appreciate some beautiful gorgeous fucked up 80s gore! i'd recommend you the blob (1988), the fly (1986), fright night (1985) and creepshow (1982). i'd also recommend you the hitcher (1986), bug (2006), splinter (2008), [rec] (2007) and my little eye (2002) because they're isolated and anxiety inducing, like the blair witch project, the thing and the evil dead. i'd recommend you urban legend (1998), house of wax (2005), behind the mask: the rise of leslie vernon (2006), totally killer (2023) and you're next (2011) when you're in the mood for something fun and bloody like scream! hope there's some you haven't seen yet! :)

Whats you opinion on living mannequin/wax horror? I'm currently watching Wax Mask (1996) cause I remembered watching it as a random horror movie film I took out of my college library one time to celebrate Halloween. And now that its my third-ish time(?) its got me thinking about where does this sort of horror/fear response come from? Like this evil doctor/surgeon type obsessing and slashing people and turning them into their museum art piece. How do you think these movies could be perfected?
one of my favorite films is house of wax and I totally get that fear. I looked it up and there’s an actual fear called automatonophobia, but I also think it has something to do with uncanny valley type of thing like it looks human but it’s not quite human so the fact that there is someone dead underneath is unnerving.
I’m not sure too much can be done with the genre since there’s always been so many additions to it and it’s kinda of a niche type of movie type, I wish house of wax from 2005 could had perfected a modern take on it but I feel like they could always remake the og house of wax and make it more gory, less cringy dialogue (the 2005), and good acting (the 2005) one and play into that fear people have to make it more unnerving

My House of Wax Timeline with my oc Eden Sinclair:
A/N: None of this is canon in the actual House of Wax universe. This is for my Eden Sinclair AU. Things will probably be added in the future.
Eden Sinclair Info
Tumblr media
Spring of 1967: After two years of knowing each other, Doctor Victor Sinclair marries Sculptor, Trudy Herbert.
February 1968: Victor gets medical license revoked.
March 1968: Trudy and Victor find land in a small town and decide to build a house. Trudy also begins development on her House of Wax.
December 1968: House is finished, Doctor Sinclair continues his practices illegally, he becomes the town’s doctor.
May 15th 1969: After many setbacks Trudy’s House of Wax is finished.
Early August 1969: Trudy finds out she’s pregnant.
Late August 1969: Trudy finds out it’s twins.
March 29th 1970: In the early hours of Easter morning, Beauregard and Vincent Sinclair are born. Victor Sinclair performs a C-section on Trudy then immediately goes into surgery to separate the twins.
Early March 1974: Trudy is working on Vincent’s first mask, she hates the way he looks but his lack of temper makes up for it.
May 1974: Trudy finds out she’s pregnant again. They’re twins, this time fraternal.
June 1974: Trudy shows Vincent how to sculpt with wax. (This point forward Vincent and Bo are forced to grow up a little faster than normal because of Trudy’s fear of failing the completion of the wax museum especially with two more on the way.)
January 12th 1975: Lester and Eden Sinclair are born.
1978: Lester and Eden are now neglected. Bo attempts to take care of them only to get punished when he gets caught with them.
1980: Eden volunteers to try on dresses and makeup for Trudy since the other boys won’t.
April 1987: Victor catches Eden trying on makeup alone and dresses too. He’s read about this. He talks to Eden.
May 1987: Eden gets put on HRT. Victor does monthly exams on her.
June 1988: Vincent and Bo graduate, Vincent is convinced to stay to help Trudy. Bo stays to take care of Lester and Eden. He works at the gas station.
August 1988: Class of 88 begin to leave except for the twins. Some parents follow the kids.
May 1990: Eden slowly gets taken off HRT. More people leave.
December 1990: After years of abuse and neglect Vincent, Bo, and Eden come up with a plan to kill their parents and make it look like a double suicide. They don’t tell Lester, they know he doesn’t want anything to do with it.
February 14th 1991: Victor and Trudy come back from their date. Victor goes upstairs and Trudy goes to the kitchen. Vincent and Eden hang Trudy and Bo shoots Victor.
March 29th 1991: They tell Lester what happened. Guilt sets in but it stops soon after Bo brings up Trudy’s Town of Wax.
1992: More people have left Ambrose after Trudy and Victor’s suicide.
June 1993: Eden and Lester graduate, the last of Ambrose’s young residents leave. Bo brings up killing people to get a more authentic look to the wax figures, Eden and Vincent agree to it.
August 1993: The old library is handed down to Eden, she turns it into a local museum too.
April 1995: The sugar mill shuts down, only people 50 and older live in Ambrose now minus the Sinclair Family. Lester moves 10 minutes out of town and begins his road kill job.
1996: Everyone in Ambrose is dead. At this point Bo figures out a way to control the town from the house. Lester helps him with it.

Slashers I will not see the movie due to final girl/main protagonist/me being indecisive, but I still want to learn about them so I may watch the movie if convinced.
Please note, this is coming from someone who has never seen any of these movies so please be mindful.
Try to convince me:
——————————————
Jesse Cromeans
Nickname(s) I gave him: Silver Skull/The Advanced Money Hunter guy. (That was the first nickname)
(Movie: Laid to Rest (2009)
Tumblr media
He looks cool. His mask is really nice. He looks rich. The reason I am unsure if I should watch the movie is because of the protagonist.
Vincent Sinclair
Nickname(s) that I gave him: The craftsman (he looks like a crafter.) Shy Boi.
(Movie: House of Wax 2005)
Tumblr media
I like his design. He looks so fucking cool. I don’t like his brother (Bo), saw our protagonists, didn’t really care for them, and overall was going to avoid this movie all together, and then I saw Vincent and went ‘maybe I’ll give it a chance.’
No. I have not watched it. Someone give me a reason to.
???
(Movie: The Collector 2009???)
Nickname(s) I gave him: The Collector, creepy mofo, Amateur Roman Sionis on a tight budget.
Tumblr media
I don’t like the guy’s mask. I like his style tho. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. And I may or may not watch this movie. However please know whether I watch the movie or not, I still will be watching puppy videos after.
Next:
Daniel Robatallie Candyman
(Movie: The Candyman 1992)
Nickname(s) : Murder-Beetlejuice, Charming Man, The Bee Summoner!
Tumblr media
Tony Todd did an absolute fabulous job. That is not enough reasons to convince me.
That being said, if someone can convince me, or give me a reason that I should watch the movie, I will watch the movie. Bonus points if you can get me to watch it alone. (I usually watch my horror movies with other people, the exceptions being 1978‘s Halloween and 2016‘s Hush)

And finally… No I have not seen any movie in the series. I just don’t know if I should.
Pamela Voorhees:
Nickname(s) I gave her: The lady with the blue sweater, The lady who Desperately needs a hug, and Crazy mama!
Tumblr media
Listen…
I do not know this woman. I don’t know why she’s upset. I don’t know why she’s murdering people, but apparently as it was mentioned in the first scream movie (1996), she was the first killer in the Friday The 13th series.
Still hesitant to watch but I would protect this lady with my life… and you know… maybe give her an emotional support plushie.
Part 2?

For the amusement of the fandom, the following is a small list of slasher villains who, in some way or another, profoundly trigger my deeply buried ‘femdom’ side (and my not-so-deeply buried emotionally sadistic side) to the point where I would very much like to make them cry...
‘The Man’ from the 2016 film ‘Hush’
‘Man In Mask’ from the 2008 film ‘The Strangers’
‘The Grabber’ from the 2022 film ‘The Black Phone’
Bo Sinclair from the 2005 film ‘House Of Wax’
Stu Macher from the 1996 film ‘Scream’
Danny Johnson from the game ‘Dead By Daylight’
That is all.

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION? HOW DOES MICRODERMABRASION WORK?
What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure that provides exfoliation that enhances and intensifies the effects of peeling actions like chemical peels. The Food and Drug Administration first approved it in 1996. It efficiently improves skin conditions like wrinkles, acne scarring, sun damage, rosacea, age spots, melasma, fine lines, and other skin concerns.
There are various ways to execute microdermabrasion, and each type of procedure uses a unique applicator with an abrasive surface to subtly remove the skin’s thick outer layer, resulting in an absolute rejuvenation.
What does microdermabrasion treat?
Microdermabrasion is flexible in treating various skin conditions, such as the following:
Blackheads
Enlarged pores
Dull-looking skin complexion
Sun damage
Wrinkles
Fine lines
Age spots
Acne scars
Uneven skin texture and tone
Hyperpigmentation
Brown spots
Additionally, the treatment is considered safe for most skin colors and types.
Is microdermabrasion for me?
Although it has been mentioned that microdermabrasion is generally safe for most people despite skin color and type, there are still exemptions. According to sources, patients should not get microdermabrasion if they have undiagnosed lesions, deep scars, active acne, eczema, skin cancer, recent herpes outbreak, and facial warts.
Furthermore, pregnant women must also avoid microdermabrasion.
On the other hand, suitable candidates for the treatment are patients with damaged skin affected by aging, sun damage, acne, and other minor skin problems.
What does microdermabrasion do to me?
Aside from treating several skin issues, microdermabrasion also has several benefits you can indulge with once you try the procedure. These advantages are as follows:
It exfoliates the skin, resulting in a more refreshed appearance.
It treats acne and hard-to-address acne scars.
It reduces and eventually eliminates enlarged pores.
It improves wrinkles and fine lines appearance.
It enhances dark spots and blackheads unflattering on the nose.
It reduces darkening and patches skin.
It lessens stretch marks appearance.
Above all of these, one of the most incredible benefits that microdermabrasion can offer is that it aids in thickening your collagen, which results in a younger-looking complexion. As we all know, collagen and its improvement significantly affect the skin’s health. Collagen is a type of protein abundant in youngsters; it is an element that makes the skin’s appearance smooth and taut.
What are other types of microdermabrasion?
As emphasized earlier, there are various ways of administering microdermabrasion. Here is a peek at what you should know.
Hydradermabrasion: This method in microdermabrasion is newer. It uses the combination of simultaneous crystal-free infusion and exfoliation of the skin. The treatment prompts collagen production and maximizes blood flow in your skin.
Diamond-tip handpiece: Using a diamond-tip handpiece gently exfoliates dead skin cells that will be suctioned off immediately. The pressure applied on the handpiece and the longevity of the suction’s stay on the skin affects the abrasion’s depth. Diamond-tip handpieces are utilized in more sensitive facial areas, like sites close to the eyes.
Crystal microdermabrasion: This last type of microdermabrasion uses a crystal-emitting handpiece subtly sprayed in crystal forms that are excellent in rubbing the skin’s outer layer away. The dead skin cells are also suctioned off immediately, like in the diamond-tip handpiece process. Some crystals can be used, including sodium bicarbonate and aluminum oxide.
What is the process for microdermabrasion?
During the preparation process, an initial consultation will occur where your medical professional will assess your suitability for the treatment. Moreover, you may be advised to avoid tanning creams, waxing, and sun exposure a week before the treatment proper. You must also prevent the usage of exfoliating masks and creams three days before the treatment.
In the treatment proper, your provider will start by using a handheld device to gently sand away your skin’s outer layer, particularly on treatment areas. To end the treatment, your provider will apply sunscreen and moisturizer on your skin.
After the process, you can resume your day. It is vital to keep your skin hydrated, so you must use gentle skin products. You must prevent using topical acne medications a day after the treatment and protect your skin with sunscreen as it will be extra sensitive to the sun a few weeks after a microdermabrasion treatment.
Cost, side effects, results, and number of treatments
Sources cited that the average cost of a microdermabrasion treatment was $167 two years ago. However, this is subject to change since the final costs will depend on factors such as your demographic location, your provider’s fee, and special offers.
Remember that microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure, so medical insurance does not cover this.
Like other procedures, microdermabrasion has primary side effects, which are as follows:
Redness
Tenderness
Swelling
But all of these will eventually fade a few hours after the treatment. Your provider may also advise you to maximize the use of moisturizer to reduce flaky and dry skin. Lastly, you may also experience minor bruising caused by the suction process during the microdermabrasion session.
Results for microdermabrasion are immediate, so you do not have to worry about result visibility. These results will continuously improve after several treatments, depending on the patient’s skin quality.
Experts recommend an initial five to eight treatments with a seven to ten days interval. They also recommend maintenance treatments every two to three months to maintain results.
A golden tip is that microdermabrasion’s long-lasting effects depend on proper skin care. Aside from consistently following scheduled sessions, regular maintenance treatments are also crucial.

OKAY SO I FINALLY GOT TOGETHER MY HEADCANONS FOR A MAJORITY OF THE GUYS I'M FAMILAR WITH!
Brahms - Birom/ace cis man! He/Him
He has a preference for women, but his attraction is mainly split 50/50!
Billy Lenz - Bisexual, trans man, he/they
He probably is also arospec to an extent, he has a lot of issues with figuring out what emotions mean what and can't really seperate attractions. I think nebularomantic would fit the best with it but hey that's only if we're being cringe MOGAI on main
Leslie Vernon - Gay, nonbinary man, he/they!
He's post top and T! Only a transmasc would keep that shit facial hair and have it be acceptable. Also, Eugene was his gay awakening (like, young pics of Eugene). (S/O TO MY DISCORD SERVER FOR THAT ONE)
Jason Voorhees - Gay, nonbinary, he/him
I don't know how I feel about making him because I think it's more so he's traumatized with sex and the like? Which isn't the same as asexuality. I do think he steers away from it mostly, though.
Bubba Sawyer - Nonbinary, bisexual, they/he
I am 80% it's canon he's enby? I read something about it like a year ago, but yeah! He absolutely is at least a gnc mlm.
Nubbins Sawyer - Bisexual, trans, he/him
I know having a pattern of headcanoning only twinks as transmascs is bad but also like...I can do what I want. Because I'm transneterual and present masc. Fuck you
Chop-Top: Bisexual, cis, he/him
YOU'RE TELLING ME THIS MAN IS? STRAIGHT? STRAIGHT? HELLO? YOU'RE IN A DIFFERENT LEVEL
Michael Myers (OG) - Gay, cis, he/him

Stu Macher - Bisexual, trans, he/him
Look at me. This man isn't cis I'm sorry okay the trans kids own him
Billy Loomis - Cis, bisexual, he/him
He likes men. I think the whole fandom knows about that homoerotic nature, ngl!
Herbert West - Gay, trans, he/him
THERE IS MULTIPLE ESSAYS ABOUT HOW REANIMATOR IS A GAY METAPHOR HERBERT WEST IS NOT FUCKING STRAIGHT!!!!!!!
Bo Sinclair - Bisexual, cis, he/him
I don't know I'm only saying this because he is a) gay and homophobic and b) I have a crush on him and I wanna pretend he might like me
Vincent Sinclair - Gay, nonbinary, he/they
HE'S GAY! HE'S GAY!!!! I am very passionate about gay Vincent! It just fits well I think and I don't know. He's gay. Gay art student.
Lester Sinclair - Bisexual, trans, he/him
