#WGT memory no.3: An absolute highlight of #WaveGotikTreffen2019 was the Extinction Rebellion Leipzig demonstration, 'Trauermarsch für aussterbende Tierarten' - an actual funeral march to draw attention to the species extinction that is happening these days, too rapidly and unnaturally. It was an incredible action, hard to put into words. But the photos will tell the story. At the end of the march we had the absolute honour to play and induce the 'die-in' with our song Restart From Zero. Feline rewrote a special last verse, just for the occasion and at the end of the song everybody pretended to drop dead and stayed on the ground for 5 minutes. The silence and the message of it during the march and the die in was so powerful. Goosebumps. Today, there will be a digital demonstration for the same reason as part of Darkstream Festival. ♡Although I’m wistful, mourning after the precious days, which I’ve been able to spend in Leipzig during Pentecost at the @wgt_leipzig , I’m filled with the most marvelous happiness, reflecting all the individual events, memories and concerts.🦇 The historically beautiful atmosphere in the city when it comes to architecture and cultural events as well as the authentic Treffen Spirit could and will never be replaced by any modern affinity for consumerism and artificial masquerade … I’ve had the possibility to finally witness the legendary Wave Gotik Treffen, of which I’ve always done every single bit of research since my earliest interests in the dark scene, and walked the path of all original Treffen since 1992. Already looking forward to next year’s Wave Gotik Treffen 2020…♡ Sheena 🖤 • ♡ Obgleich ich der Wehmut verfallen, jeglichen Erlebnissen, Konzerten und kulturellen Veranstaltungen des achtundzwanzigsten Wave Gotik Treffens in Leipzig hinterher trauere, überwiegt in meiner persönlichen Retrospektive ganz klar die Freude darüber, einer solch wunderbar schwarzen Zusammenkunft mitsamt all ihren Programmpunkten, Konzerten sowie kulturellen Veranstaltungen beigewohnt zu haben. 🦇 Dieses Jahr hat sich für mich nun endlich die Möglichkeit ergeben, das sagenumwobene Wave Gotik Treffen, dessen Geschichte mich seit 1992 stets in ihren Bann gezogen hatten, erleben zu können.
