What to expect: I'm probably going to queue up some of the art I've done over my break from here when I feel like it and repost old pieces I still wanna have here. But I'm taking my time and I'll probably not be at the same activity level I used to have since I've had Priorities(tm) lately. Most if not all reblogs will end up on @dirgewoods.

What's been going on: ... ☝️ My mental health and relationship with my work has admittedly not been the best the last several months, despite how good I am at being in denial! But I feel like I'm getting my spark back because I had some very big breakthroughs recently. I even finished some music yesterday, and music's still been hard for me lately (though in the case of music it's just composer's block now). I've been through a lot of drafts of Sableheart's prologue and felt a little discouraged over that too, but I finally came at it from the perfect angle recently after taking a break from writing to focus on myself more for a little bit. I actually ironed out the parts of the script that I was having the hardest time writing. For the first time in a while I'm feeling a little good about my work again.

I'm still not exactly sure what happened, my self-esteem just suddenly got very bad, probably the worst it's been, and stuck around a lot longer than I ever expected it to. It's actually been going on since around the end of last year/beginning of this one. It's still lingering just a tad, but I've made enough progress to get my footing back. I'm up and running again

mha is like an estranged awkward father to me. i try not to make my connection to it obvious but i secretly care a lot about it (sometimes against what i desire) and when ppl talk serious shit about it i get defensive. like yea i understand that it's not the best series writing-wise, it's got a good amount of problems and that its mere connection to me makes me cringefail ... but i'll always find some sort of unexplainable comfort in its arms despite its flaws bc there's still a good amount of it to genuinely enjoy without a constantly ironic state of mind that all media must be critiqued with nowadays and i don't expect anyone to understand this odd relationship but myself

oh, i think the reason i got So into serirei recently is that they push the same buttons in my brain that brotzly does. yeah, gimme a liar with a heart of gold who deeply hates himself but goes out of his way to help people around him, both strangers and those he cares about, and whose relationship with his boyfriend started out as help in a tough situation and grew into working together in an agency focusing on solving paranormal cases; and the boyfriend — a weirdo with supernatural powers who's socially awkward because he had years of his life stolen from him because of them, and who's traumatized by a nefarious organization that wanted to harness that power, who tries his best to build connections and be kind to people, and who's ultimately, unconditionally, unwaveringly in love with the liar-with-the-heart-of-gold, even in the face of having seen him at his absolute worst and lowest. and also they're both 30yo losers.

ywah, it all comes back to brotzly, it always does.

mob psycho 100 is such a funny name for that anime considering what the tone of that name suggests in american english connotations does not match it at ALL. that name conjures up like organized crime or psychopathic murder or idk something over the top and perhaps cartoonishly violent i was like "so is this boy and the man in a suit doing evil shit or trying to stop the yakuza? or is it gonna be like, american psycho but if you had like, 100 of them? wreaking havoc?" no. not at all but good try lol lmao
