We keep hearing about Cass' pussy and how its perfect but we still don't know what it looks like . Do you have a link or photos for comparison. I wanna to be immersed (and for everyone else too)
You are right anon, I do mention Cass and her beautiful pussy often enough on this blog without a concrete visual to go along with it. As I have said before, it is basically as nice as one could possibly get, at least for my personal preference. Something that gets missed a lot too is how it is creamy with her wetness her divine pussy gets.
Anyway, I can totally appreciate that it is frustrating to not quite know what I am picturing, but I am still resistant to posting photos (which is not going to happen on this blog because I do not want it flagged again), and fairly reluctant to give links to explicit content off-site (which I believe is against Tumblr's TOS if I recall correctly). You (and anyone else) are unfortunately going to have to use my past descriptions and your own imagination to get something. Although, maybe just maybe search Melena Maria Rya or Maria Ryabushkina on PH anon - I think she would be the closest to what I have in mind, especially from behind or when she is laying on her side with her legs togther.
As I have linked previously, if you want words describing what I have envisioned, I would request that you read this ask that covers my four fave queens. You can also have one about all of their asses and tits too. For Bomba or Jelly specifically, there have also been dedicated asks that did mention everything as well.
This blog because was / is not meant to be explicit beyond written descriptions, so I do apologize for not giving you more. Any visually explicit content is going to stay as reblogged art or posts from other users for the time being, so I again sincerely apologize for hindering your enjoyment and immersion.
I know I have said that this blog is meant to serve those who follow it just a much as it serves myself, but sometimes it does not or cannot live up to that in regards to requests like this. There are other things too that others (or maybe you) have sent over time that I am still unsure about how best to address as well, but I do definitely appreciate them. Time will tell about those, but I will admit some of them are burning a hole in my proverbial pocket.
Regardless, I would be pretty keen to hear what you picture all the perfect pussies presenting as anon. Maybe you will give me something new to dream about or thirst over.

[cisfemale, she/her] Welcome to Aurora Bay, [DERYA IZEL YILMAZ]! I couldn’t help but notice you look an awful lot like [AYÇA AYŞIN TURAN]. You must be the [THIRTY-THREE] year old [NURSE AT AURORA BAY HOSPITAL]. Word is you’re [BENEVOLENT] but can also be a bit [COWARDLY] and your favorite song is [PORCELAIN BY JOJO]. I also heard you’ll be staying in [CRYSTAL COVE]. I’m sure you’ll love it!
full name: derya izel yilmaz
nicknames: rya
dob: march, 16, 1991
age: thirty-three
pronouns: she/her
sexuality: bisexual
birthplace: ankara, turkey
status: single as a pringle
time in town: a few days
(tw: death)
If you ask Rya what her earliest memories are, she’ll probably start rambling about being on the beach, indulging in the performing arts, or spending days on end exploring the various monuments and statues. When she wasn’t in school, her and her siblings could be found going on a new adventure, learning everything they could about their culture. As they grew older and more expats invaded the city, their insatiable hunger for new experiences was urging them to leave their home and see what else was out there. By the time she was fourteen, her siblings were all finished with school and ready to make their trek to the States, and she’d be damned if she didn’t come too, so their parents packed everyone up and moved them all to a quaint little place in New Jersey.
As if she hadn’t thrived back home in Turkey, Rya flourished in Jersey. With a decent amount of Turkish Americans living in New Jersey and New York, she was able to adapt fairly easily, mastering English enough to enroll in school and finish out high school in record time. By then, her parents had decided to move back to Turkey, while her siblings had spread out across the States starting their own individual lives. Rya took two years off to just travel the country, visiting one sibling to the next as she tried to map out a career for herself. She was good at a few things, sure, but what everyone seemed to agree on was the fact that she liked to help others. She had never met a stranger, and if someone were in need of something, she would happily give them the shirt off her back. But how could she translate that into a career?
Rya wouldn’t have to ponder that question for long. During a trip to Chicago to visit her eldest sister Asena, the unexpected happened. While the sisters were hanging out, Asena went into sudden cardiac arrest, and with no CPR training, all Rya could do was call for an ambulance. Unfortunately, the EMTs didn’t make it in time, and her sister passed away right in her arms. She took some time out to grieve, and amidst her anger and sadness, she figured out what she wanted to do with her life. Never wanting to be in a position like that again where she didn’t know how to render possible life saving measures, she decided that she wanted to go to nursing school, at least to start with. With Asena’s apartment still available, she decided she would stay right there in Chicago, using her sister’s belongings as encouragement to push her through this next adventure: University of Illinois Chicago’s College of Nursing. Landing herself a scholarship, Rya knocked out both her Bachelor’s and Master’s just in time to meet her future wife.
She hadn’t been in many relationships over the years, mostly just indulging in a few flings here and there, or one night stands with other nursing students, but that all changed when she met an artsy woman that made her swoon instantly. Rya had never even known she could be so wrapped up in love or another person like this, but what felt like a whirlwind romance quickly spawned into one of the best things that ever happened to her. And when her wife shared her sentiments about having a child of their own, she was ecstatic, at least until the IVF didn’t work. Part of her was shattered, but adoption being a secondary option was something they had to seize. The second she met their son, Wilder, she swore that it was Asena who had somehow been behind this union, watching over her from above just like she’d done when she was physically there doing it.
While Rya assumed everything would stay like this, Maia’s unexpected accident changed everything. She was grateful that her wife survived, and she was more determined than ever to stand by her side. Yes, it meant she’d be tackling Wilder by herself a lot more since her wife was far too injured, and she’d have to balance work with coming home to care for everyone else, but she had promised to be there for Maia through sickness and in health, so she was prepared for it. The downside? Maia didn’t let her help. Their once happy marriage was coming apart at the seams, much quicker than she’d anticipated, and no amount of fighting would have stopped the inevitable: them going their separate ways.
Following the divorce, Rya had to go back to a life where she wasn’t happy, didn’t have a person to turn to after long shifts at work, and she was now having to map out custody of Wilder with her ex-wife. But eventually, she managed to find a balance that worked for her and her son, at least for a little while. But Maia traveling back and forth for visits wasn’t ideal, so after thinking long and hard about it, she decided that the best thing for Wilder would be for her and her ex to be closer, which is why she’s decided to move to Aurora Bay. Rya doesn’t think she’s fully prepared to be in such close proximity to her wife again, but for Wilder, she’ll learn to adjust.

More on my tarnished Odion (and subsequently his relationship with morgott) warning, I’m not a writer so this is just a mess of thoughts
Odion doesn’t remember much about his life before he rose again, but maybe he remembers snippets of his family/humble livings. Also knows little to none about he lands between. In my headcanon the graces/their guiding light feels like an itch or something to the tarnished? Something to encourage them along and if they resist long enough it gives up? I feel Odion being confused and lost in this new world and not knowing why he’s alive again would just follow where the grace leads oat first (which leads to his first death by margit!)
Leading to Odion saying fuck it to all of this (I can’t imaging dying and being reformed is pleasant at all) and going the opposite direction. After this as he explores and learns of the world and realizes how shit everything is and the mistreatment of certain beings it finally lights a fire under him and that’s what leads him to start his journey.
- adores boc, Melina , rya, and Alexander. Frequently brings boc clothes and frabrics he’s taken from the dead for him to work on and make outfits. A man needs to look good razing his way through the lands between. Didn’t kill tannith for Rya’s sake. At melina and Alexander’s resting places, odion makes sure to leave flowers and a small gravestone(or something of the sort)
Plenty of people have done their own versions of morgott being your consort so I’m following that in this headcanon, and it isn’t until the Altus plateau that any ground is made with them. I think they would agree to join for the sake of the lands more than anything, and thus their accord at first is filled with distrust and resent (on both of their halves for various reasons, including the killing of each other) I don’t think until after the Elden beast is defeat and Odion summons Morgott to claim the ring, and when they start to rebuild, does a relationship start to bloom. It’s still very busy but no longer is it a rush to claim lordship.
- Odion by then respects Morgott even if he doesn’t like him, but that quickly changes as he discovers what a devoted and wonderful man Morgott is (he can’t read rememberences like we can so it isn’t spelled out for him. Plus Morgott is a grump) Odion acts as the vision for the new age and Morgott the voice of reason, and a guiding hand yo make things happen (he’s the only one with experience being a lord.)
- Odion is a respectable 6’0”, lean but still strong. Voice a bit low and raspy. (Uses mostly faith incantations (bullies Morgott into helping his crucible incantations) but also duel wields daggers. Used stealth and trickery a lot, doesn’t care for honour in battle since it’s just a way to get yourself killed he believes. (Alexander was the only exception, he deserved the greatest respect.) (if he spars morgott it’s all in the table.) also he talks in the older English too, plenty of thys, thine, thou arts, etc to be had
-nsfw headcanons , loves sex and is free with his affections before Morgott. Still is playful, firm believer the bedroom shouldn’t be taken too seriously, have fun! Switch but prefers being on top. Loves to lazily ride Morgott in their royal baths. By far the more experienced one in the relationship, and is very happy to shower morgott in pleasure and affection. He deserves it.

Tumblr media
No one would believe if told that Nolan, the grumpy almost shy one, was best friends with y/n the smiley and loud girl. They met at a pharmacy, going for the last pain medicine box on the shelf and bumping hands, he was about to give up, but then she smiled and suggested buying it and give him one card since there were two inside. They spent some time talking in the line and when she found him once again in the same pharmacy she didn’t lose time following him and sliding to his DM. They got along pretty well and months after y/n saw herself in a bar full of hockey players to celebrate the victory of the team.
That’s how she met Carter and more further ahead started dating him.
They were two distinct polos.
Y/n loved to dance, Carter preferred to sit and sip at his drinks.
Y/n was a college student of Fine Arts, Carter was a hockey player.
Y/n had curly hair while Carter had the thinnest straight strands of hair.
Y/n was Colombian, Carter was Canadian.
Y/n had a YouTube channel and Carter, well Carter discovered that he liked it a lot more than he was supposed to.
She did videos of hair care, study routine, and even some dance moves while cleaning the house. He was able to watch her, hear her, and almost feel her even if the timezone would not allow during trips.
Their first kiss was in one of those videos, y/n was talking about some chapstick new flavor while Carter was watching some game on the TV sitting on the opposite sofa.
“Well, I’m really suspect to talk about the peach one since I don’t like peaches” she comments while putting it on. “Carter, can you come here for one sec.”
At that point, the boys were part of her routine so they were used to appearing in some videos sometimes, TK truly loved the attention, he would show out of the blue behind the camera or pretend the video was about his morning routine. Nolan would crack a laugh and Carter would roll his eyes telling his friend to give the camera back to y/n. Of course most of the time she would edit these parts, so it didn’t appear, but sometimes it was hilarious, and so she couldn’t help herself. The next day Travis would be the joke of the locker room -but he never stopped-.
“What’s up?” he asked, sitting by her side on the living room floor. Travis and Nolan were out buying food, Hart and y/n being the only ones in the house.
“Can you taste this chapstick flavor and see if you like it?” she applied one more time in her lips and smelled the tiny balm in her hands, making a face and giving it to him.
Carter laughed and scooted closer to her taking her shin into his fingers and bringing her face close. She giggled not expecting him to taste directly from her lips, he was probably messing with her like they always did with each other. But when Carter closed the gap all she could do was hold his neck and dive into the feeling.
After the episode, they would kiss every time no one was around. Dates and night in started to be a common thing and the rest is history.
It was a Saturday morning, Carter was sound asleep since he was going to have a game later in the afternoon and y/n was already in the kitchen preparing the usual breakfast they had for game days, except today she was reasonably early.
“Hey there, my lovely pals” she greeted trying to speak as low as possible. “It’s a Saturday morning and I’m doing breakfast while editing some school stuff, Carter is sleeping and this video has everything to do with him” she grins while sipping from her favorite cup of coffee. “Travis was talking to me about some kind of conversation they had at the locker room and apparently Carter said he wasn’t a jealous person...well, it’s something between the boys but my amazing and devilish friend came up with the idea...he wants me to act a little weird and see if Carter really doesn’t feel jealousy at all. I decided it was better to film it so he wouldn’t be capable of denying it. He’s sleeping as I said before and I’ve distanced myself since yesterday, I don’t know if he already noticed it but yeah..let’s go” she turned around to start paying full attention to the preparation of breakfast.
Y/n was halfway done when she faced the camera again.
“So we usually have the ‘breakfast-pre-game’ together whenever we can, but today I’m calling Trav and Nolan to join us…”
The next record was y/n pacing in the kitchen while sending some messages on her cellphone. When the duo was already there TK gave her a bear hug and murmured “let’s go for it, Hartsy girl”. She laughed and went to hug Nolan, who didn’t know about the prank.
“Where’s Carter?” he asked.
“Sleeping, can you wake him up while I set the table, please?”
Nolan noded going for the stairs and Travis started setting the table while y/n moved the camera to a better angle. When Carter and Nolan showed up he was still in his sleeping sweatpants and with his hair a total mess.
“Morning” he mumbled to his friends going directly to his girl and wrapping his arms around her.
“Morning, sleepyhead” she teased.
“Why you didn’t wake me up?” his calm breath lingering on her neck almost made her forget about the plan.
“I did, I just send Nolan to do it” y/n answered pretending to be confused with his question. On these days she was the one to wake him up and she did it with kisses, depending on the mood even some morning sex.
Carter left one last kiss on her shoulder before they head to the table.
“What’s up with the juice, babe?” Carter asks while sitting beside her.
“Oh, Travis didn’t want chocolate milk so I made him orange juice…” here we go, she thought.
“God, you’re so sassy, TK” Nolan rolled his eyes glancing at his friend.
“You see?! He comes to have breakfast at my house and wants to choose what to eat” the goalie goes along while TK just grins.
“It’s ok, Carter, he didn’t ask for it, I just wanted to make sure he is one hundred percent spoiled since it’s a game day...” she speaks and then pauses pretending she said the wrong thing. “Not only him, but you guys, of course…”
Travis tried to suppress the giggle, that fucker! she was a great actress.
The meal went along with TK always carrying the subject to y/n witch made Carter glance at him every once in a while. She would for sure zoom his face in the editing process.
“Hey, lovely pals, it’s afternoon now, Carter is already at the rink and I’m getting changed. I’m going with Travis jersey today and we’re expecting a big win so I have an excuse to film the boys leaving the locker room and get a good view of Carter’s reaction.”
Y/n keeps the camera on her face while showing some makeup tricks and it was not long before Ryanne was knocking at her door. They met way before y/n started dating Carter, back when she was starting her friendship with Nolan, he was the one saying that the two would get along pretty well...and he wasn’t wrong.
“Why are you wearing TK’s jersey?!” was the first thing she said when the door was open.
“Hi, Rya, I’m doing pretty good, thank you for asking!” Y/n’s words packed with irony were responsible for both of their laughs.
“I’m sorry, it’s just...very weird. Like I look at your face and my mind goes straight for a #79…” she jokes.
Y/n rolls her eyes slightly at her friend and let her enter “I’ll just grab my purse and we can go!”.
Not even 10 minutes later they were already in a cab making the way to the arena. Y/n take advance of the time to explain to her friend everything while making sure she won’t let herself slip, such as sheer too loudly for Carter or forget about everything once he left the locker room with wet hair and rosy cheeks pursuing her body for a warm hug.
And that’s exactly what Ryanne does once the game starts and y/n is on her feet holding tight to her water bottle. The thing is, the Colombian girl was very competitive being raised in a home where the weekends were specially for soccer games and her father got her a jersey even before she was born. She was so used to diving deep into everything she did, especially if it was about cheering for a team. And well, living in Philadelphia and dating a hockey player made her role to cheer as loud as possible. It was her team and her boyfriend after all.
The game went better than expected and thanks to Ryanne she was able to hold herself together.
“So I bet this is the hardest part…” Ryanne stated holding y/n’s camera and prepared to film everything. “That’s why I’m praying for TK or even Nolan gets here first…” y/n sighed.
It was not long before the three boys come all together laughing and talking about something y/n predicted as the game.
“Hey, babe” Carter greeted burying his head in the crook of her neck and breathing deeply.
“Good game, Hart” she smiled hugging him back but shorter than the usual. And only when she went to hug the other two players he notices the different numbers printed on the jersey. His lips twitched and his brows furrowed, Ryanne tried to suppress a giggle before Claude finally leaving the locker room.
“Nolan I hope deep down in my heart that you washed this hair with shampoo, please” she joked.
“For your information, I always wash it with shampoo…” he shoves her lightly before hugging her by the shoulders. “He’s lying, y/n, last time I went to his house he was using soap to wash this damn birds nest.” Travis grabbed her hand bringing her closer to him.
“Hey! Great game, by the way, Trav! I loved that last pass!!!!” and that’s it, that’s precisely how she usually does with Carter, praising everything he does during the match time, always. Giving him advice and hyping him up.
Carter chose to let it go while they started to make their way to a bar to celebrate as they did every possible time.
At the bar, Carter kept his distance while y/n danced around with Ryanne and Travis,
He should be happy since his team won and he did an amazing job keeping every puck away from the net, but something was bothering him and he knew exactly what it was once his eyes found his girlfriend one more time that night.
Something in the way she did not bother to stay close or even tells him how good he played was giving an uncomfortable vibe. Not that she should always do that, but habitually that’s what they up to, and the sex after too, so when y/n brush him off going for a cup of water in the kitchen he knows something is really wrong.
They just got home from the celebration, she was barefoot looking for a glass in the cabinet.
“Y/n what’s wrong?” he approached not knowing how to start that conversation. “What do you mean?” she asked, a confused look on her face.
“I mean, why are you wearing another player jersey…??”
“Oh...I just wanted to support the team in general, you know?!” she shrugged. “I need to go to sleep now. I’m exhausted, sorry. TK danced too much tonight…” she giggles, walking to their shared room and leaving Carter behind. Knowing damn well that she planted a jealousy seed in his mind.
...
Two days and more distance later she was recording a video about her playlists in the bedroom when Carter got home from practice.
“Hey, missed you” he muttered undoing his tie.
“Hi, Carter” she grinned, not the big bright smile he’s used to when he got home, but at least it’s something considering she’s been almost ignoring his the last days “I’m filming a video” she explains.
“Not gonna interrupt” he left a kiss on her forehead and went for the closet to change, coming back minutes later with his grey sweatpants and no shirt on. Y/n knew what he was trying to do and being as competitive as she is she choose to make a game out of it.
“...and so there’s a lot of Post Malone’s songs, as you guys expected, and some Spanish as well because hell yeah I’m here for praising my own language…” she’s trying to focus on the camera in front of her when the bed dips, Carter is laying in the bed.
Sometimes he used to do it, but usually, he would wear a shirt or something and try to be as invisible as possible, just wanting to be closer.
“You can keep going, I’m just gonna...watch” he whispers smiling and laying his head comfortably at the pillows.
She rolled her eyes and went back to talking with the device when his hands found hers. The long and calloused fingers threading and holding to her strongly but still somehow soft. She felt his adoration look and could not keep her eyes from founding his and her lips from mirroring him and smiling.
Carter was this contagious.
Like some kind of speel.
It was hard to resist when he started being so soft and loving around her.
And that’s exactly how he managed to lay her beside him and finally get the deep kiss he’s been seeking since three days ago. His hands found her waist bringing her closer and slotting one of his legs between hers. Y/n’s hands went to his soft hair and pushed it lightly, part of her wanting to separate their mouths, the other just expecting for what he did next: he moaned into her mouth. He melted every time she pushed his hair and she knew it.
“Babe, please…” he spoke sinking his head in the crook of her neck, kissing that spot.
“Not today, Carter” she tried to resist, departing their bodies.
He huffed but nodded his head. “Can I at least eat…” he started looking for her legs and she gasped interrupting his naughty question. “The camera is still on” she tried to pretend that this was the big deal, but in reality, she would not be able to hear his full question and deny it. “It’s not like you are on live, puff” he joked and she tried to stay serious. “Wait...are you on live?!” his eyes went wide and y/n didn’t resist the laugh. “I’m not on Live, calm down.”
“Fine, but are you sure?! Are we ok?!” he asked sitting when she did the same.
Y/n turned her head to the nightstand pretending to look for something while answering “yeah, we’re just fine”
“So does that mean we can do something?! I just want your attention, love” and there he was all soft again.
“I’m just...not in the mood, Carter” she mumbled. “Not even for kisses?! Cuddles?!” She shook her head and he sighed. “Fine. Can I at least just be here watching you??” he asked this time not looking at her but drawing imaginary patterns in the mattress. She felt a pang on her heart but went for the answer she knew was going to make he thinks something was different “yeah, whatever”.
And just like that, she kept trying to go on with the video while Carter was laying beside her and watching every move until he fell asleep. Still, he kept the adoration look, she knew it, she felt it.
The Flyers were playing again and just like the last game y/n went wearing TK’s jersey. But only this time the game wasn’t so good as the last one. The team failed shamefully and even TK gave up from the prank for some time after leaving the locker room. This time the hug y/n gave him was well needed. Consequently, when she was comforting him, it was not part of the jealous-game anymore, but for Carter, it all seemed the same obviously. “You did great, Trav. Sometimes we just can’t control everything and that’s ok” he hugged her strongly before letting go.
Hart just noded for his two buddies, Nolan and TK, before heading for the parking lot, not going for his usual hug or kiss after loss or victory.
“You don’t want to hug me or anything?” she asked once they reached the parking lot.
He sighed. He looked tired. “I...I guess Travis needed the hug more than I did.” she furrows her brows. “Wait a second..are you jealous?” she asked and he shrugged before entering the car.
“You’re ok?!” y/n asked as soon as she got inside the car. He nodded starting to drive in complete silence. She knew better than to give him his space after a loss, but usually, he wanted her around, he would not want to talk during a certain hour, but he definitely wanted to hug her or at least have her close.
This time it was different.
And it kept being different during the whole ride home.
He was giving the silent treatment.
She almost forgot to turn the camera on when they arrived home, but when she felt the tension she knew it was the moment he probably was going to snap.
“Y/n…” he called already inside the apartment. “Can we talk…?”
“Is it about the game?! Of course, we can talk…” she pretended not to be aware. Carter shook his head. “It’s...about a subject completely different.” He was undoing his tie while walking to sit beside her on the couch. Somehow it seemed like he was too nervous about it, so he just rose and started pacing in the middle of the living room.
“Oh, go ahead. What is it about?”
He sighs.
The passe goes on.
“I’ve been noticing lately what your...friendship with Travis started to change...to develop…” she tried to open her mouth and comment, but he shook his head again. “Just...let me finish ok?!” his voice was not angry, it was calm...like he wasn’t that angry like he was just...hurt. And so he went on “And I love you… that’s why I just want to see you happy. So...if you’re not feeling the same anymore, if it’s something I did or said, or it’s nothing at all just you falling out of love with me...just...let me know. I do trust you with all my heart, and I know you would never cheat and I know you don’t want to hurt me too” he took a deep breath before starting again. “So...what I want to say is that if you’re starting to like Travis, tell me now, don’t bring it to me out of the blue-”
He’s so deep into his ranting that he did not notice she’s snickering with her two palms covering her face. When he did, he stops himself. “Oh- no, don’t cry, babe. It’s not your fault, feelings happen...and I’m not blaming you…” she was about to finally crack a laugh, but when she found his sad eyes she just couldn’t.
“What’s so funny?!” He’s clueless.
“It’s not it, Carter...it’s just...you love me so much. This is a whole level of maturity and affection...I was not expecting. I thought you would be jealous and snap at me, get angry, I don’t know. I’m just in shock.”
“I was not that angry because it’s not like we choose to fall in love you know?! We just do…” he says apparently deep into his thoughts. “But if I could choose I would go for you anyway.” there’s this small smile in the corner of his lips.
“I’m so sorry I was so distant lately. But...I don’t love him. I love you” she whispers. “I’m really really sorry about this week.”
“so…?”
“It was a prank, Travis idea, I got curious...I did not imagine it would get this far. I’m sorry I make you felt like I did not love you…” she hugs him and feels when his body relaxes into the embrace. He was relieved.
She stood up and went to the camera behind an ornament in the coffee table.
“This is the moment you tell us how it felt. Take it easy on TK, he’s not the greatest actor, we could’ve come up with something better...” she joked sitting in front of her boyfriend. Carter chuckles admiring her face behind the camera.
“Actually, I do love him, but as a friend” y/n adds before turning the lens a little and kissing his lips.
“That I can deal with.”

The Sky Beast, New and Improved
Eeeek I wrote another Mothman Ryan fic!!! All inspired by @q-unsolved ‘s amazing art :D
Summary:
Ryan Bergara is 100% human until they shoot the Mothman episode. They didn't find anything but Ryan might have brought a piece of the investigation home with him.
Or: A bit of Mothman attaches to Ryan and he gets pretty cool perks. Shane is a fan.
Find it on Ao3 here or read below!
"Eeeeee, last chance!" Ryan pinched his voice two octaves higher, poking his head out the car window to squeak into the woods on the side of the dark road.
"I think you've offended the Mothman." Came Shane's reply from beside him, the words tinged with mirth. Despite the horrid noises that the older man had made earlier for his moth call, he still somehow found Ryan's imitation extremely hilarious.
"Shut up, Shane," Ryan grumbled with a grin, starting up the car again. It had been a long day of shooting, and they were all more than ready to get back home.
If he was being honest he didn't really believe in the whole Mothman concept, and it boggled his brain that Shane could trust these crazy 'enhanced' natural creatures more than he believes in ghosts and demons. His friend was leaning back in his seat, but not tilting it back so much as to be in Mark's way, a self-assured smile on his face.
The hunt hadn't been entirely fruitless, Ryan reminded himself, their calls had attracted something, at least, just many much smaller somethings with sharp canine teeth.
There is a dark shape that appears out of the corner of his eye at night. With his irregular nocturnal patterns demanded by the nature of his work and spontaneous late-night research sessions, Ryan had first chalked it up to sleep deprivation. It is an actual phenomenon proven by science, Shane would have said, when your eyes don't get enough rest they start to bail on their job and show you random shit. But is the phenomenon normally limited to the hours after sunset?
There were nightmares too, way more frequent than what usually follows an especially creepy investigation. The dark shadow was there too, and in the once or twice that Ryan had managed to take control of the dream long enough to look, there would be two bright red spots at the top of the shape, then the figure would shoot off to the corner of his vision again, wings hardly moving despite the swift movement.
And the migraines, so fucking many of them. He just feels a pressure building up in his ears, like they were picking up something high pitched that his brain cannot register, but some primal part of him recognized as wrong, abnormal, dangerous, run . Then the pain would explode through his eardrums and stay lodged in his head for hours. Ryan went to his doctor after the third time he had doubled over in pain, the hospital did all sorts of scans but could find nothing wrong.
It was all stupid, the Mothman trip wasn't even that scary, why the hell was the thing showing up in his head? Why can't it leave him alone?
(two weeks later)
Ryan's alarm goes off at 6:00, and he flings out a hand to swipe it off without opening his eyes. He shifts a little, relishing the feeling of down against his back, keeping away the slight November chill. Yes, this was LA and the temperature never dropped below freezing, but a guy needs some soft fluffy blankets come wintertime, sue him.
The alarm keeps blaring. He tries again. And again. But the damned screen isn't recognizing his fingers.
"Nnurgh." He grunts, lifting his head from the nest of pillows he had curled up with the night before. It was sort of unusual for Ryan to sleep face down, but it had just been the most logical choice at the time. He pushes himself up to his elbows and rubs at his face, while his hand tries futilely to shut his phone up. "Why do I wake up so early." He grumbles to his palms, maybe his phone was broken, yes that would explain why prodding at the screen has been doing nothing--
Ryan stares at his hands, both in front of him. Then he turns to look at his phone.
There is a dark thing hovering over the buzzing device, surface shimmering slightly from the dim light peeking through the curtains. He jerks away from it, letting out an entirely unmanly squeak as the thing moved with him, curling around and behind him faster than he could turn around in his still sleep-relaxed body. A soft warmth closes on his back on the right side, solid and fuzzy in a way that eerily mimics the softness on the other side. Oh god, the thing's on his back.
For a few moments, Ryan can't convince his body to move and just stays half crouched on his bed. The slight chill that glances his front only accentuates his panic. Slowly rising to sit back on his heels, Ryan whips a hand back as fast as he can manage in the attempt to grab at the thing. Do not be afraid, do not be afraid--
The weightlessness hits him hard when the thing suddenly soars up and away until the only points of contact are two spots between his shoulder blades. The rush of air and following pull from those points lifts him clean off the bed, plunging him into blind terror for a few seconds as oh god he is in the air , hovering above his bed with arms flailing. The twin spots on his back strains with the effort as the thing flaps with quiet, powerful whooshes. After a solid five seconds, the thing finally stills, dropping him on his ass onto the bed with an ‘oof’.
What, the fuck.
Ryan gives his weird job all the credit for his ability to maintain the state of calm--or shock, honestly, he wouldn't be able to tell-- enough to climb off the bed and walk to his closet. At least the thing isn't moving now, though he can feel the weight of it on his shoulders. And okay maybe he does miss the warmth on his back, just a little, monster produced or not.
Heart thumping in his chest, he peeks at himself in the mirror, terrified that he'll see the thing's eyes staring back at him. His own hair is disheveled, his eyes wide and beady in the way that would have made Shane laugh. And oh yes, the thing was there, arching off from his back with a terrifying eight-foot span, dark-colored and still shimmering slightly in the dim room. He quickly turns to look at his back, wide eyes not missing the way the tip of the thing curled in to avoid hitting the closet door.
It takes his brain a minute to catch up to what his eyes were seeing.
Wings. He has wings .
"The fuck?"
As if in answer, one of the black wings flips down to slap him upside the head, as if to say: took you long enough you doofus.
"Ow!" He complains, but however he tries, and god knows he did, his hands could come nowhere near the damn things as they moved in every which direction with fluid ease, putting his body off balance in the process when they flapped around.
If this is the result of Shane taunting some demon he is going to kill him.
“Eeeargh! Eeeargh! Eeeargh!” His phone screams from the bedside table. Right. He almost forgot about his damn alarm amidst all the crazy.
Snatching it up from and turning off the awful noise, it doesn't even quite register in his mind as his fingers move across the screen until it was showing Ryan that he is calling Shane. The man picks up on the 7th ring.
"Ry, wha?" His voice is gravelly and scratchy from sleep and Ryan's shoulders lose some of their tension at the familiar sound.
"Shane can, uh, can you come over? Now?" He pinches the bridge of his nose and closes his eyes, only jumping a little when the wings, his wings, settles against his back again in a warm blanket.
"Now?" A groan, Shane wasn’t a morning person, "Are you okay? Did something happen?"
"Just, come over. Please." Ryan adds, leaning his head against the cool glass of the mirror. His head feels too hot, even when his front is still cold.
"Okay, okay. Hang in there buddy, I'll be there in twenty."
Shane gets there in fifteen minutes. Ryan hears the sound of approaching footsteps from his curled up position on his bed and is wrenching the door open before Shane has the chance to knock.
"Thank fuck." he breathes, grabbing onto an arm and pulling the taller man into his apartment, shutting the door behind him. He keeps his back tucked against the door, the wings sparing his body from touching the icy surface.
Shane is studying his face with a perplexed expression and two thermoses of coffee in his hands, hair sticking out on one side in a horrendous cowlick. "Ryan, what happened?"
"You, um, might want to set those down and sit." He says, waving at the steaming cups of energy in Shane's hands, he's totally going to inhale one of those once his nerves are a little less shot.
Shane does so, expression tilting more and more towards worry as Ryan stays at his spot by the door.
"I'm going to show you something, and, and I'll need you to not freak out okay?" Ryan's voice shakes a little, and he holds his hands out in a placating gesture.
"For the record, if you just killed someone, first I will commend you for your productivity at six in the morning; second, I'll help you hide the body."
"Wha--no." Ryan huffs a laugh, the tension momentarily forgotten. They had known each other long enough that his big gangly friend knew how to get him out of panic mode. He gulps down a deep breath, and slowly steps away from the door, coaxing his wings to stretch out on either side of him. He has to admit, once he had stopped trying to grab the things they have been much more cooperative and responsive to his mind.
"Oh."
Ryan glues his eyes on his bare feet, cause he doesn't know what he would do if he looks and sees disgust or, or fear in Shane's face. "I woke up and just had these," the wings flap on their own volition, almost preening, Ryan realizes with mortification, "I-I don't know how it happened, they feel real Shane. What the fuck am I going to do? I don't know if its a demon thing or something to do with Mothman cause I've been having nightmares about it ever since we came back from Virginia--"
"Ryan, Ry calm down." Shane's out of his seat again, gripping onto Ryan's shoulders firmly to stop his rambling, "We'll figure this out, just, breathe."
Ryan let his head fall forward until his forehead’s pressed against Shane's rumpled hoodie, letting the steady beats of Shane's heart slow his own breathing. When he looks up again, Shane's staring at his wings with unabashed curiosity. Then he gets a light slap to the face to bring his attention back down to Ryan, courtesy of his right-wing. Huh, Ryan muses distantly, maybe having semiautomated wings does have some perks. The baffled expression on his friend's face right now is definitely worth it.
Chuckling in surprise, Shane once again pokes his head past Ryan's shoulder to get within an inch from the wings, his eyes crinkling into crescent-moon shapes. "They look less feathery and more, I dunno, maybe like deer velvet? They're quite fuzzy-looking." He pauses for a second deep in thought, and his hand on Ryan’s shoulder twitches like he wants to touch the wings. "The Mothman idea has more traction, I don't think if demons existed they would use their time to do this."
"I still can't believe you think Mothman is real but not demons." Ryan sighs, poking Shane in the chest with a finger. This has the unfortunate side effect of making him very aware that he does not currently have a shirt on. How had he not realized that? Will he have to cut holes in his shirts now? Fuck can he even go to work with wings sticking out of his back--
"Hey, stop that." Shane's hands on his shoulders give a light squeeze, and Ryan makes the effort to stop his brain from running away with his wits and hurling itself off a cliff, for both their sakes.
"Take your own advice and sit down." Shane's voice is gentle, and Ryan let himself be guided towards the couch and smiles gratefully when a warm cup is pressed into his hands. A few sips of the still too hot liquid goes a long way to ground him back into the normality of his morning routine. His wings find their own place to be, which turns out to be draped across the back of the sofa, their tips just peeking over the length of it.
"I-I can fly." He blurts out, and a hysterical giggle bubbles out from his chest, and soon both of them were laughing and wheezing as the potentially fun part of the whole situation hit them suddenly.
"For real though, what are we going to do about this?" Ryan says in between giggles, gesturing at himself in general. "I mean it would be different if I can make them invisible or something but that's not--"
"Ryan," Shane's eyes are wide as he stares at the sofa, and his voice is full of wonder, "look."
Ryan cranes his head back to glance at where his friend was indicating and is, for the second time that day, shocked to hell and back. Seriously, if he is going to at least try to live a decent lengthed life, he's gotta get used to seeing strange shit. He can still feel his wings against the sofa, but they were not there. He reaches his hand back tentatively to where his limbs would have touched, and it's like his hand is passing through a dense, dry mist. His wings, but invisible.
"They're still here." He murmurs in awe, moving his hand along the top of the sofa to stroke along the strange feeling of dense air. "They're invisible now."
"Oh, this is going to be so much fun." Ryan turns and with a flicker of darkness, his wings are back in physical form again, his hand resting gently against its fuzzy surface. Shane is full-on grinning, eyes alight with mischief, and he manages to say with complete seriousness, "Ryan, you're gonna be the new Mothman now."
And the strange thing is, Ryan doesn't feel repulsed by that idea. Far from that, the thought sends a thrill through him, awakening an almost primal part of him, the possibilities flitting through his mind faster than he can fully grasp each.  He grins back at his friend.
"Yeah. I guess I am."

Clinics and Consequences
A JSE Fanfic
I’ve had this idea for months, and I’m excited, if a bit nervous, to finally get it out there. Think of this as a “what-if.” Maybe even an AU, though probably not quite that, uhh, big (I guess) because it’s just one story. Also putting this in as part of the Schneep Appreciation Week, because it focuses on him and also writing is art! Anyway, this takes place in May shortly after Schneep...“got back.” And it follows something that might have happened, in another world.
The room was pretty empty. It had to be, in accordance with the hospital regulations. Dr. Rya Laurens liked to think that though it was empty, it wasn’t hollow, but the truth was that you still couldn’t help but notice a clinical sort of feeling. It was in the white-painted walls and the gray carpet, in the fluorescent lights overhead whose bright light evenly covered the room. There were only three pieces of furniture in the room: a table and two chairs.
Dr. Laurens tapped the edges of the folder against the table surface, making sure all the papers were contained inside and not slipping out. Then she set it down and looked up at the man sitting across from her. Brown hair. Blue eyes that had been hidden behind glasses before, but those hadn’t complied with the hospital regulations either. Simple sweater and pants. His arms were folded on top of the table, fingers drumming a rhythm of some sort on his sleeve. She smiled at him. “Hi. My name’s Dr. Laurens. Are you ready to start, Mr. Schneeplestein?”
“Doctor.”
“Yes?”
“No, no.” He shook his head. “My name is Dr. Schneeplestein. You are using the wrong thing in front.”
“Oh.” Laurens checked the first page in the file real quick. She didn’t know why, exactly, because she already knew this guy was a surgeon. Probably just to cover her tracks or something. “Yes, that’s the wrong prefix. Sorry.” She coughed, a jittery sound. “Can I call you Henrik?”
“No.”
Laurens raised her eyebrow. “You sure? I don’t want to accidentally mispronounce your name or anything.”
He shrugged. “I suppose you can call me ‘Schneep.’ It is a nickname my friends have given to me.”
“Alright.” Laurens clicked her pen on and made a note of the name in the file. “So, then. Schneep. Do you know why you’re here?”
Schneep’s fingers stopped tapping. “In this room, or in this building?”
“Either one.” Laurens smiled patiently. “Or both, whichever you prefer.”
Schneep looked down at the table surface and didn’t say anything. Dr. Laurens decided to wait for a bit, double-checking that everything was in order in the file. She swallowed, a bit nervous. After a few seconds, Schneep looked back up at her and said, “No.”
“You don’t know why you’re here?” Laurens clarified.
“Well...I have some idea,” Schneep admitted. “But I do not see the sense in it.”
Laurens pursed her lips. “I see...” She leaned back in her chair and began rifling through the folder again. “Well, I can try to help you with that. I have some recordings of past events here. I can...remind you of things, and maybe then you’ll, ah, see the sense in it.”
Schneep didn’t say anything. Laurens glanced up at him briefly before turning her attention back to the papers in the folder. She cleared her throat. “So. On August third last year, you were in your office at the hospital when your friend—Jack, correct?” She waited for his stiff nod before continuing. “Your friend Jack showed up, apparently to ask for a check-up. You decided to help, and went with him to an examination room. About forty minutes later, you left the examination room with Jack, except he was losing consciousness. You took him to one of the empty operating rooms and refused aid when offered by some of your coworkers. Five hours later, you left the room, and then the building.”
“I did not leave,” Schneep said quietly.
Laurens jumped, not expecting him to speak. “Well, you were seen leaving. Both by several doctors, nurses, and patients, and the security cameras.”
“I did not leave,” he repeated insistently.
“Well...” Laurens took a deep breath. When Schneep didn’t say anything else, she continued. “Regardless of when or if you left, when one of the nurses next checked the room, Jack was unconscious, in fact, in a coma upon further examination, and surrounded by the tools and evidence of a botched operation.”
“Yes, well, that is true,” Schneep admitted. “I did preform an operation on Jack, once it seemed there was no other option to save his life.”
“From what? According to his medical records, Jack was perfectly healthy at the time.” Laurens pulled out another paper. “Not to mention the examination brought up traces of sedatives in his system, and various other medications he didn’t need.”
“It is...difficult to explain,” Schneep said slowly. He leaned forward. “But it was not my fault. I did not mean for Jack to go into the coma.”
“I believe you.” And really, she did. On that part, at least. She took a deep, shaky breath. She replaced the paper she’d withdrawn. “But what about the others? Those weren’t your fault either?”
Schneep hesitated. “The other...what? I-I do not know what you mean.”
Laurens flipped through the file, glancing back up at him every few seconds. “November 11th, last year. December 21st, last year. December 24th, last year. January 17th, this year. February 5th, this year.” She paused in her flipping. “You don’t recognize these dates? I have more.” Schneep didn’t say anything, eyes cast downward again. She closed the folder. “Thirteen people are dead—”
“Is not my fault!” Schneep’s head whipped upward, eyes wide. He unfolded his arms and banged his hands against the table. Laurens jumped, scooting her chair back an inch. “You must understand that! Nobody does, but it is the truth. It is not my fault.”
Laurens forced herself to lean forward again. The room was silent except for the small sound of her pen rolling across the table. She didn’t bother to grab it again. She smiled; it wavered for a bit before steadying. “You have to look at the facts, Dr. Schneeplestein. You disappear after this operation on your friend, only to be witnessed at the scene of several kidnappings, and the victims turned up later, dead. Killed in a way similar to being operating on, using medical equipment, some of which had your fingerprints. And no one else’s.” She kept the friendly smile plastered on her face, even as she remembered the crime scene photos she’d looked over in preparation for this meeting. If there was ever a definition of a ‘gristly scene’...she hadn’t even thought the human body contained that much blood.
“Okay, I admit how that looks.” Schneep laughed a bit, cutting himself off abruptly. “But trust me. It—it is more complicated than that.”
“Well, can you tell me about it?” Laurens prompted.
Schneep opened his mouth, hesitated, then closed it again. “I...I cannot.”
“You can’t? Why?”
He rubbed his neck. A bit of an odd gesture. Laurens narrowed her eyes. He seemed nervous, or even scared. But then he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and when he opened them again they were angry. “Because I know you will not believe anything I will say.”
“That’s not tru—”
“It is!” Schneep snapped. Laurens fought the urge to lean backwards again. “It is the nature of this place, even if I give you a reasonable explanation, you will not believe me! You will say it is just in my head.”
“I...you’re justified in thinking that,” Laurens admitted. “But I can promise you, I’ll look to follow up on any explanation you give me. Even if you think I won’t believe you.”
Schneep rolled his eyes. “Forgive me for my doubts. Besides, I do not think you can follow up on this, and even if you could, he—” He clamped a hand over his mouth. His eyes had suddenly gone very wide, the color draining from his face.
“Who’s ‘he’?” Laurens asked curiously.
Schneep shook his head, hand still covering his mouth.
“Well...you can tell me later, if you want,” Laurens said. She tried to sound encouraging. “But in the meantime...if it turns out you aren’t responsible for this, you can leave. And it can’t hurt to take some anti-”—she noticed Schneep jump—“-psychotics in the meantime. Your records say you stopped taking yours sometime in early July last year?”
Schneep’s eyes darted to the left, then to the right, and he nodded, lowering his hand but not saying anything.
“That’s not good, regardless of who you are or what you did,” Laurens said sympathetically. “There should be an orderly on the way with some pills for you to take, if you want. I can stay—” She was cut off by a sudden beep from her pager. She sighed irritably, checking it where it was belted to her waist. The message was short. What pager messages weren’t? She really wished they could be allowed to use their phones inside the main building, but again, it was against regulations. Nothing that could communicate to the world at large was allowed, and had to be dropped off in employee lockers. She looked back up. “I’m really sorry, but I have to go now. You’re okay with waiting a bit while I take care of this?”
He nodded, again staying quiet. His eyes flicked over to a spot over Laurens’ shoulder, then back again. “Thank you so much. Don’t worry, I’ll be right back.” She gathered her folder and stood up. She pushed her chair back under the table, and walked quickly over to the room’s only door. Before leaving, she glanced behind her one more time. Schneep was leaning on the table, and not looking at her. She sighed quietly, and closed the door behind her.
------------------
“Is this important?” Laurens asked quietly as she walked into the next room. “I don’t like leaving patients alone.”
Her boss, Dr. Jennifer Newson, rolled her eyes. “What’s he gonna do? Poke himself?”
“No, I mean...never mind.” Laurens sighed. “What is it?”
Dr. Newson didn’t answer for a while, turning her attention to the one-way window connecting them to the other room. Laurens didn’t approve of that window. The people in the observation room deserved to know if they were being watched. Currently, Schneep was on the other side of the glass, his head in his hands, elbows propped up on the table. “I wanted to ask you if you’re sure,” Dr. Newson said.
“It’s...a little late for that, isn’t it?” Laurens laughed nervously.
“Rya, I’m serious.” Dr. Newson turned to face her. “This is a highly sensitive case, and you just came back from...leave.”
Laurens didn’t like the way she said ‘leave.’ Like she’d skipped out on her duties to drink pina coladas in Costa Rica, instead of taking a break to try out being a personal therapist instead of part of an organized institution. But she didn’t say anything.
“I’m just saying.” Dr. Newson raised her hands like she was being arrested. “If you’re feeling out of your depth, it’s totally fine to ask someone else to take over.”
“Like who? You?”
Dr. Newson shrugged. “Well I mean, if I have to.”
Laurens glanced over to the window. Schneep was sitting up straight, looking around the room. She watched as his eyes settled on looking at something on the wall opposite the window. “Wouldn’t that be...confusing?” she asked.
“What?” Dr. Newson followed her eyes. Schneep was starting to look a little on edge, shoulders raised. His lips moved, but without the intercom on it was impossible to tell what he was saying, if he was saying anything out loud at all. “Oh. He’ll be fine,” Dr. Newson waved Laurens’ concern away. “It’s just one session, it wouldn’t matter.”
“You don’t know that,” Laurens whispered, hugging the folder she was still holding.
“What? Speak up, Rya.”
“I said you don’t know that,” Laurens repeated in a louder voice. “Sometimes people get upset with changes in routine, and it can take just one meeting to establish that routine. I don’t think we should make people upset.”
“Especially not in this case, huh?” Dr. Newson laughed. “It’s gonna be fine. You think we can’t handle one guy?” She jerked her thumb over her shoulder, pointing back out the window without looking.
Laurens glanced out the window again. Schneep had pulled his legs up onto the seat of the chair and was covering his ears. His eyes were tracking some movement along the wall opposite him. He looked...he looked scared. Laurens’ heart twisted. “But...Dr. Newson, I’m really fine with this assignment. I don’t need a transfer.”
Dr. Newson cocked an eyebrow. “You sure? I’ll be honest, you looked a little nervous through that whole talk in there.”
Another glance at the window. The room’s door had opened, and an orderly walked in, balancing a metal tray with a paper cup on one hand. Schneep didn’t notice, staying completely still except for the occasional twitch. “I was kind of nervous,” Laurens admitted. “But that doesn’t mean I’m going to give up when—when someone ne-needs help. I can...only take this assignment, and no others, if it helps. So I can devote full attention to it.”
Dr. Newson sighed. “Alright, fine.” She stepped closer to Laurens, placing a hand on each of her shoulders. “But. If you ever change your mind, come talk to me. I’m sure I could find someone else who’d take this one. And if I can’t, I’m willing to do it myself.” She smiled wide. “Okay?”
Laurens tried not to squirm at the weight of Dr. Newson’s hands on her shoulders, or the pressing sensation of having her boss stand this close to her. “Okay,” she agreed.
“Attagirl!” Dr. Newson clapped her on the back. “Now, you can finish the session. I’ll still be here, watching for anyth—” She turned around. And stopped. “What the fuck?!”
Laurens peered over Dr. Newson’s shoulder, looking at the window. She also froze. And then she dropped the folder and shrieked.
“Go, go, go!” Dr. Newson was pushing her out the door, and she was halfway through before her mind could even process that she was. “Go get someone! I’ll deal with this!”
Laurens sprinted down the hall, half-stumbling, hand tracing the wall for balance. She reached a corner and started shouting, drawing the attention of a pair of orderlies. She wasn’t even truly aware of what she was saying, just that the words ‘accident’ and ‘right now’ were coming up a lot. The orderlies ran towards her, and she gestured for them to follow, heading back towards the observation room. The door was now wide open. Against regulations. She skidded to a halt and stared inside.
The chair had been knocked over at one point. The orderly from before was lying on the floor, his hand pressed against his neck, blood leaking from beneath his fingers, as well as three puncture wounds on his arm. Dr. Newson and Schneep were also on the floor. Dr. Newson was holding Schneep’s wrist in one hand and pushing him against one of the table legs with the other. And Schneep was pushing back, grabbing at her hand with his free one and kicking out. Laurens was admittedly impressed by how unfazed Dr. Newson was. Her eyes drifted over to Schneep’s hand, the one Dr. Newson was determinedly keeping away from her. He was holding her pen. Her pen, which she realized with a jolt that she’d left behind. It was covered in blood. Blood that splashed up his hand and stained the cuff of his sweater.
Dr. Newson glanced over at her and the two orderlies, shouting something about twenty cc’s of something. One of the orderlies rushed to help their injured comrade, the other joining Dr. Newson. Laurens stayed rooted in the doorway, helplessly watching.
Schneep broke away from Dr. Newson and the orderly for a moment, scrambling across the floor. “I am sorry,” he gasped. “Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I did not mean—please—” He broke into laughter, harsh and maniacal. The laughter then turned into a scream. “Leave me alone!” Tears were leaking from his eyes.
The orderly caught up to him, wrapping an arm around him. He was holding a syringe in his other hand, and awkwardly tilted Schneep’s head back and plunged the needle into his neck. Schneep jerked his head away, but it was too late. “Was not my fault!” he shouted. “Was not my fault. Believe, believe. Was not my...fault. Please...” He slowly slumped over, and within thirty seconds he was out.
Dr. Newson stood up, brushing off her sleeves. “God, can’t believe we actually had to do that. That’s supposed to be a last resort.”
“Was there another way?” Laurens asked. But the question was so quiet, it didn’t carry.
“Hey, how’s Jenkins doing?” Dr. Newson asked.
The orderly tending to the injured one looked up. “He’s alright for now, but losing a lot of blood. We need the medical team, now.”
“I’ll page them,” Dr. Newson said, already taking out her pager and flipping it open. As she typed, she looked over to Laurens. “Still wanna take this?”
Laurens glanced down at Schneep, still unconscious and being held by the orderly. The bloody pen had rolled away from his hand. She nodded.
“Wow. Okay. You’re really sure? He just tried to kill someone.”
“That was my fault, Dr. Newson,” Lauren said. “I left the pen in the room.”
“Oh, like he wouldn’t have found a way to do it anyway.” Dr. Newson snapped her pager closed. “But guess it’s your risk to take. Though I suggest you continue the session tomorrow, after he’s had a chance to cool down. Harrison, you can take him back to his room.”
The orderly nodded, standing up, adjusting the way he was holding the unconscious Schneep. “Um, Dr. Newson,” Laurens piped up. “May I accompany them?”
Dr. Newson shrugged. “Sure. Uh...and while you’re there, double-check for anything that can be...used.”
“I will.” Laurens nodded, and followed the orderly out the room and down the hall.
This new assignment was sure to be...interesting. Maybe difficult, though you could never tell this early on. But Laurens was sure of one thing:
Schneep was just as scared of what was going on as the rest of them were.

I had a very busy end of summer pulling together the giant annual fundraiser Witch Rave successfully after a dramatic spooky lightening storm!  This year’s event was co-organized this year with best friends and artists: Alex Tsoli, Jean P’ark, Orion Twinkle and Winnie SuperHova. Together with the community we again miraculously raised thousands to provide an opportunity for many talented artists to participate in Murmurs. Thank you to the almost 1,000 people who came out to support this fundraiser. Murmurs was the first queer sound art residency in the world. With organizers and BetOnest director Yoav Adamoni – we were 31 that filled the art hotel! The largest event ever in the space and ColorBlock joined us for a big party making it the funnest party of 2018 at the new residency space.
Tumblr media
The amazing artists who participated in the residency were:

Here are some photos from the beautiful Murmurs residency:
—————————————————————————————————————————————–Two weeks later my partner Ryan Backer and I took the train to Amsterdam and biked around a lot in all sorts of weather. We went to the Art Deco Sauna to warm up and relax which was incredible!  Then I curated Genderclear at Transcreen.
This is one of my favourite bills of my life. It was carefully juried by friends Angel Ka, Anna Helme, Nabeela Vega, Raven Davis, Russell Louder and Ryan Patrick Backer.
Jespa Jacob Smith, Anakin Tora,Brettley Kai and Wyatt Riot were in attendance which was such a total delight. This program was funded by Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa
Video artists on the bill: Jespa Jacob Smith, Justin Shoulder & Bhenji Ra, SATURN, Mitch Mitchell, Erum Khan, Anakin Tora, JJ Levine , Brettley Kai and Wyatt Riot, Namita Aavriti, Thirza Cuthand, Buzz Slutsky, Kinga and Winnie Superhova, Max Rocha, Kübra Varol, Isaiah Lawrence, Lene Ricarda Vollhardt and Luce Delire and HYENAZ

After trip the next weekend this Ryan Backer and I had an ecosexual commitment ceremony/ ritual in the light rain in a forest led by my platonic wyfe performance artist and porn star Sadie Lune. This event took place at Quecke with our 20 closest Berlin friends in attendance followed by a giant feast.
—————————————————————————————————————————————–While gardening at the Tauenblau estate in October, I got to spend some time back at BetOnest with some great artists from New York, Glasgow, Montreal and Philly that I have had the joy to work with before: Hannah Levin, Ben Owns, Nash Glynn, Stephanie Creaghan and Evie Snax! Also I got to meet and listen to inspiring stories from Yoshiko Chuma for my first time.
—————————————————————————————————————————————–
I worked at the Berlin Porn Film Festival in October 10 hours a day again running the Spektrum Venue with Alex Tsoli for almost a week. I curated the last of the Berlin Series of 2017 called FEAST on loop in the lobby of the Spektrum – art science community. Many of the artists were here for the festival Theo Meow, Candy Flip, Lori Elisabeth, Cybee Bloss and AORTA films which was exciting.
Tumblr media
FEAST An experimental short film curation on loop Coral serves up the best in food porn mixed in with a sprinkling of high art for you to devour. These hedonistic video artists gorge on fruit, picnics, bodies, hot dogs, cakes, candy, and last but not least gallons of milk. Get some food to go and come sit at the Spektrum to spend some quality time chewing and swallowing these beautiful and visceral videos in between screenings. Headphones will be provided for this sumptuous overindulgence. A generous helping of thanks to Zachary Hutchinson, Cybee Bloss, Anna Luisa Petrisko, Nabeela Vega and Ryan Backer for ideas and support with this curation. This delicious experience is free of charge!
Kailey Bryan and Pepa Chan Eat Your Heart Out .56 Over four hours they feed each other a seven course meal. Gestures range from smirking and silly to hurtful and aggressive. Attentiveness gives way to laziness; resentment builds. As carelessness action becomes malicious, the performers feel the weight of their own callousness. Tenderness re-emerges. With each bite they contend with their impulses and suffer the emotional consequences of their actions. Sometimes we hurt each other out of ignorance. Silly, attentive, callous, malicious, and sorrowful, this durational performance is a quiet but high-octane emotional ride. World Premiere
D.S. Chapman Mending 4.01 Through a reflective performance, the artist alludes to the reparative nature of transitioning their body. Confronted with a subtle, visual break with reality, the viewer is asked to navigate and mitigate their relationship to the perceived trauma that has been done and is being subsequently undone in the video. European Premiere
Claire Arctander Feeding Time 2.25 Feeding Time is a pithy, sexy video that feels raw but is ultimately G-rated. The artist plays an intentionally ambiguous role – is she top or bottom, commanding or commanded? European Premiere
Asaf Aharonson, Chih Ying, Josephine Beckers, Kasia Wolinska, Konstantine,Martin Hansen Asia Tickler: on fruits and phantasy 3.26 Human and fruit relations enjoy a long and entangled history with notions of the erotic, from ancient Greek hedonisms to subliminally suggestive works of European art from the Middle Ages to twentieth century performance art. Most honourably, fruit nourishes our bodies. Asia Tickler draws attention to the tactile limits of human bodies with fruit, exploring pleasure in various encounters of absurdist ‘waste’. European premiere
Yoshie Sakai Come one eat all 4.54 In the video piece Come One, Eat All (2007), I concoct my own cultural icon as an animated “adult-girl” doll child, whose only objective is to endlessly and tirelessly eat fast food (McDonald’s French fries and Kentucky Fried Chicken) and junk food (Lay’s potato chips, powdered donuts, chocolate bars, and M&Ms) at a frenetic pace, as moving images of amusement park rides sped up considerably cause a mesmerizing and nauseating sensation for the viewer. Along with the creepy soundtrack “Carnival of Souls” by Combustible Edison and screaming noises from the people on the rides, I attempt to convey the vicious cycle of dizzying consumption and the irrepressible nature of overindulgence unnaturally forced upon us by the marketplace. European Premiere
Devyn Manibo Sediment 002 5.34 Part of a series of durational, visual, and textural experiments which uses rice to explore the materiality of grief, memory, and accumulation World Premiere
Nabeela Vega Thahab-Papaya 3.33 Part of an ongoing project: “Visiting Thahab” Visiting Thahab investigates the identity of a Muslim American femme in the post 9/11 diaspora. It takes forms that are performative, collaborative, generous, vulnerable, and exquisitely beautiful. World Premiere
LAZY MOM Hungry Hungry Hot Dog 2.34 Based on the children’s book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” this stop motion animation features a ravenous sausage wiggling its way through junk food on a coming-of-age journey. European Premiere
Glitter Hangover Rub 1.29 Glitter Hangover, acoustic Peaches cover band, presents their debut music video, Rub. We are frivolous, camp, and queer. Our work is about subversive pleasure and building temporary communities. It’s low-tech, DIY and offers space for revelry. German Premiere
Sister Mantos Last Night (Mirror Mirror Remix) 3.23 Video directed and edited by David Riley Photography by Benjamin Gallardo Set design by R. Kelsey Hall Shrimp headgear by Andytoad
Meow Meow Calamares 3.43 Slimy octopus dream sequence. Remember: You always eat the ones you love. Starring Candy Flip, camera by Theo Meow
Star Kim (aka Cho Mihee, aka Kimura Byol, aka Nathalie Lemoine) 2017-bap-bob Gender fluid made of bap (cooked rice) juice… bibiming (mixing) bap for bob … who is gender fluid. 1.40 World Premiere
Natalie Valencia Gluttony 1.26 World Premiere
Jacqueline Mary and Violette Dentata Girl with the Most Cake 1.13 Two femmes get wild with cake.
Cybee Bloss Squirt 30 seconds World Premiere
Sarah Hill and Hayley Morgenstern Eat THAT! Poison Apple 9.24 In Hayley Morgenstein’s performance of Snow White’s poison scene, she feasts instead of sleeps, gluttonously eating not one but several apples. My version of Snow White gorges herself on Poison Apples, gnashing and gnawing them into pieces, obliterating her potential destruction, letting apple pieces and juices stream out of her mouth, rendered defective, void of power. This gesture activates my own feminist refusal to be saved; to reject the position of having-to-be-saved, or participate in the heteronormative economy of “saving” European Premiere
AORTA films MILLK BURLESQUE 4.03 In MILLK BURLESQUE, Parts Authority, Erykah Ohms, and Ginny Woolf ceremonially edge us towards The OH Files’ climatic money shot. Honoring their cyborg sexualities with the consumption of MILLK (a white viscus substance used to fuel their post-human transition) the three begin to bend time with their erotic power, letting the wet, white viscosity flow freely forward, splashing down their bodies and dripping from their mouths. World Premiere
TOTAL 50.22

Over the holidays I paid all the artists from last year who screened in the Berlin series I curated –  115 international video artists! I have transferred all the grant money out to these talented individuals. Thank you for being part of this epic project and to the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa for this amazing funding for all of us.
For my relaxed New Year’s Resolution I will be creating a video performance series with trees and plants. I wish to take some sacred time to be more still and intimate with and in nature. Follow me on instagram to enjoy this video series shot by myself and close friends.  I am going back to my performance art roots and building on ecosexual and earth art projects from the past that I created in the United States between 2011-2015.

Quick Weave Wall Hanging DIY
The title of this tutorial may be a little misleading because weaving is never really a quick activity. However, if you’ve been dying to make your own textural weave and don’t want to spend five hours sitting down to make one, this tutorial is for you. Using chunky yarns and these specific stitches, you can fill your loom in less than half the time it usually takes to make a medium wall hanging. This design can easily be customized to fit with your home’s colors or would make a fabulous housewarming gift for a friend. Follow along to see how to make your own!
Supplies -lap loom (mine is 13″ x 18″) -weaving sword or ruler -one skein of super chunky cream yarn (90+ yards) -one skein of neutral, worsted weight yarn for bottom fringe (140+ yards) –8 oz. of merino wool roving –cotton yarn for warp -scissors -3″ tapestry needle
Step One: Warp your loom so that you are using the full width. Start your knot on the bottom of your loom and end with the other knot on the bottom of your loom as well for an even amount of warp rows. Brand new to warping a loom? No worries! Review this beginner’s tutorial for those steps in more detail. Once you’ve warped your loom, add in four rows of plain weave. This creates a foundation before we add rya knots. Not sure how to plain weave? Again, check back in that beginner’s tutorial for detailed steps.
Step Two: We’re going to be making extra thick rya knots, so cut about 20 strands of your neutral, worsted weight yarn to measure about 20″ long. These don’t have to all be even because we’ll be trimming them later. I made one rya knot bundle for every five warp rows. Except I had 34 warp rows instead of 35, so I just fudged on one. If you’re using a more narrow loom, you can adjust accordingly.
Step Three: Find the center of your first rya knot bundle and lay it on top of your warp rows. Wrap the end closest to the outer warp row all the way around as shown.
Step Four: Then skip the next two warp rows and wrap the other end of your bundle all the way around the fourth warp row. Imagine the two ends wrapping towards each other and then away. Step Five: Pull the ends of your bundle towards each other and adjust things so that they are centered and gently pull down. Your rya ‘knot’ should rest gently on top of the foundational plain weave you added in step one.
Step Six: Skip the fifth warp row and then repeat. This means your next bundle would wrap around the sixth warp row, skip the seventh and eighth, and then wrap the other way around the ninth. Once finished you’ll have a nice chunky fringe.
Step Seven: The next stitch is called soumak and will create a braided design. You can use one strand of yarn but using five will add a ton of texture and take up more space. This weave is all about going big!
Cut five strands of chunky yarn that are about 8′ long each. Tuck one end down between the outer warp row and the warp row next to it so that you leave a 4″ tail on the back side of your warp.
Step Eight: Wrap all five strands together around that outer warp row and bring it back up between the outer warp row and that second warp row as shown.
Step Nine: Skip two warp rows and then wrap the entire bunch (all five strands together) over the top and around the fourth warp row. Make sure you pull it up above your wrap every time to keep things consistent.
Step Ten: Continue skipping two warp rows and then wrapping all the way around the next one. You should start seeing a stair step pattern.
Step Eleven: Gently push your stair step pattern down so that it rests on top of the rya knots. You can adjust your tension on these to make sure they are consistently spaced out. See how they all slant in the same direction? When you get to the opposite end, wrap your bunch around the outer warp row twice to build up your height for the next row.
Step Twelve: When continuing your soumak in the opposite direction, continue to skip two warp rows and then wrap over the top of your next warp row. You’ll see how it starts slanting in the opposite direction of your first row. This creates the braided pattern. When you get back to where you started, tuck your tail ends around the outer row and act like you’re starting a regular weft row by going over and then under. This will tuck your ends down behind your warp again. Trim to end up with a 4″ tail.
Step Thirteen: Count your warp rows and divide by eight. For this section, we’ll be weaving figure eights with wool roving. Each braided section will be split in half with four warp rows on one side and four on the other. If you have an extra warp row or two, you can add them in with a batch of four somewhere. You’ll want to use about 24″ of roving for each braided section.
Starting on the left side of your loom, tuck about 3″ of your roving down between the fourth and fifth warp rows. Then wrap the long end of your roving all the way around the four warp rows closest to the edge and back up between the fourth and fifth warp rows.
Step Fourteen: Then wrap your roving over warp rows 5-8 and back between the fourth and fifth warp rows. Essentially you are wrapping around the first four warp rows and then the next four warp rows back and forth to create a vertical braid.
Step Fifteen: Finish with an even braid, meaning you’ve wrapped around both sections of warp rows an even amount of times. Then tuck your tail up between the sixth and fifth warp rows and then back down between the fifth and fourth. This will ensure your tail gets woven in and secured without it showing.
Step Sixteen: However many times you braided on your first vertical row is how many you should braid on the rest of your rows. Feel free to fluff your braids so that they are consistent. This takes up a big section of your warp and adds tons of texture. The best part is it doesn’t take very long to weave!
Step Seventeen: Add a section of plain weave above your braided roving rows. I think I added about 10 weft rows (each horizontal row is a weft row). Then add another two rows of soumak using the same length and amount in step seven. This keeps it balanced and consistent. Then frame out the other side of your soumak with 10 or 12 more weft rows of plain weave in the same chunky yarn.
Step Eighteen: You may not want to weave to the top of your loom every time. No worries! Gently pull individual pairs of warp rows off of the top notches. Create a lark’s knot by folding the warp yarn back behind itself.
Step Nineteen: Then bring the two loops together in front. Then slip this loop over your copper pipe or wooden dowel. Do this one at a time and don’t pull your warp rows too much. You don’t want things shifting as you’re taking it off of the loom. Then gently pull it off of the bottom of the loom. Tie each of the loops at the bottom into little knots to keep things from shifting down too much.
Step Twenty: Once your pipe is added, add a hanger by slipping a 3′ length of cotton yarn through the pipe. Tie a double-knot and then hide the knot somewhere in the center of the pipe. Flip your wall hanging over and tuck your soumak tails behind the exposed warp rows. Trim your roving tails so they aren’t too fluffy. These will stay put.
After I’m finished with any wall hanging I like to hang it on a hook and brush through the rya knots with my fingers or a weaving comb to straighten things out a bit. Then I trim up my scraggly ends for a more finished look. Congrats! You’ve just finished a beautiful wall hanging in half the time it can take because you used the chunkiest of fibers!
Find the perfect place for your wall hanging and enjoy! – Rachel
