Stop projecting and blaming VM

First off, probably like 2 people are gonna see this bc I’m not a vm blog and no one follows me, but I need to go off for a sec bc people rlly do never cease to amaze me. I originally commented part of this on a photo of them at the event tonight but I wanted to expand more.

I’m just gonna go ahead and say it. Y’all need to step off your high horses and stop projecting your thoughts onto vm. Claiming they look a certain way bc they’ve been drinking or crying from “the situation.” It’s not a fricking SITUATION. There IS NO SITUATION. So Scott has a GIRLFRIEND. OK. Did you expect him to remain single forever? Did you really not consider the fact that maybe he wouldn’t end up with Tessa? And STOP saying things like, “They know what they did.” Stop acting like they “did something” wrong by Scott dating someone. I can’t understand fans sometimes. They seriously act like they’re entitled to someone’s entire life just because they “support” them (funny how once Scott gets a gf, people start unfollowing or deleting their blogs). I honestly can’t comprehend the fact that rn I’m doing something as stupid as writing a rant about two ice dancers whose fans are mad bc they’re not dating each other. Like wtf?

I’ve seen some preeeeetty ridiculous posts the last few days. Like being mad that neither Scott nor Tessa announced Scott’s new relationship. It’s so ridiculous that people even feel this way. I’m sorry but since WHEN is it an ATHLETE’S duty to update their fans on their personal lives and romantic relationships. Since when is it an athlete’s PROFESSIONAL PARTNER’S duty to update their fans on a relationship that has NOTHING TO DO WITH HER. TESSA is not PART of Scott’s relationship. She doesn’t owe anything to the “fans” and neither does Scott. Y’all are honestly idiotic and egotistical for expecting something and for feeling like you’re some special fans in a special scenario. VM are fricking amazing but their relationship with FANS isn’t anything special. How many actors have people shipped bc of their on screen relationship and have had no romance in real life??

If you ship REAL LIFE people who are not together this is something you have to understand. It is FICTION. It is FANTASY. Yes, you can be upset or sad or disappointed—I was. I respect those emotions. But you can’t go around feeling entitled or blown off or wronged. You were not WRONGED. You were owed NOTHING.

Speculation can be fun when there’s that unknown factor and it can be fun to, like, analyze body language or whatever. Seeing a shared glance and wanting to make it mean something even if it really doesn’t. But when the truth is different from what you want to believe, then you can’t be angry at THEM for not aligning their LIVES to your FICTIONAL NARRATIVE.

Honestly, stfu. Stop saying theyre sad and drunk and unhappy with the situation. Unless you ARE them, you don’t fricking know. NONE of you know vm personally so you DONT get to say this. They’re living their best lives, they’re celebrated olympians who are the best ice dancers of all time and just finished their self-produced tour that ended off their 21 year career. They’re at a big event and they look great and dressed up.

Did I ship them? Yes. A lot. Am I sad? Yeah sure (honestly after seeing people’s stupid comments, I’m not even sad anymore just laughing at how ridiculous people can be). But I am NOT going around acting like a martyr, or tagging vm on social media yelling at them for not being together bc I wished for them to be even though they have MAINTAINED THAT THEY ARENT.

I became fans of them bc of their SKATING. That should be what you focus on. All y’all who quit the “fandom” bc of Scott entering a relationship are fakes, ngl. Yaknow I’m usually not this harsh, I’m more diplomatic about most stuff but this whole thing is ridiculous and I was just witnessing a whole stupid fandom controversy thing in a different fandom over whether there was a “divide” created by popular fic writers so I am PISSED OFF with people in this world not having a basic grasp on what fandom means. The VirtueMoir fandom means VirtueMoir as in the ICE DANCE DUO, not VirtueMoir as in the NONEXISTING COUPLE. So y’all CHILL. None of y’all know vm, NO ONE knows their personal history except them, so EVERYONE needs to shut up. Please.
