I’m hoping that we get to meet other Bloodhounds members in Leander’s route, since Kuras mentions Leander’s closest peers are “results of Lowtown’s harsh realities” and are “questionable,” but trust him “with their lives.”

How messed up are his closest peers? Are they better or worse than Leander? Do they know how Leander is like behind the scenes? A part of me thinks maybe not, since Leander wouldn’t want anyone, even his closest friends from the Bloodhounds to have a leg up on him and use it against him for leverage. BUT if they do know, do they instigate and enable him into doing terrible shit or do they just watch their leader commit crimes and not say anything so he can keep his spotless reputation?

I’m starting to think it’s not just Leander that’s messed up, like every single one of those members are messed up in some way. I’ve mentioned in a previous post Kuras states “Leander prefers those like him,” and so the attitude and vibe of the Bloodhounds should also reflects on him as a person.

Anyway, I hope we get to see more members in his route and their relationship with each other and the leader. I want to meet the OG members of the Bloodhounds, and know their opinions and thoughts on Leander.

It was white day.

Not that it matters, nobody got you nothing on Valentines day, you didn't had this type of connections with people.

Obviously, your friend joked about giving you chocolate if his valentine didn't accept (he was a sweetheart like that), but fate be made, the valentine accepted, and now you have to see a smiley Gunwook kicking his feet at the cute card named to him by, apparently, Junhyeon.

You didn't exactly known junhyeon, but everyone kinda knows junhyeon, so it wasn't that strange that Gunwook would fall for him, but him reciprocate? It was kinda cute, see your best friend happy always made you happy anyways, even if you are indeed a lonely soul in school.

— Sorry... I got a little carried away. — The huge and bright smile on Gunwook's face was almost blinding, causing a huge contrast between the large and imposing figure despite being adorable, and you, who looked more like a bag of sadness than a human being, and it was obvious that the tall boy would notice, blinking his round bright eyes in his direction, making you feel even worse than before. - Are you okay?

That question could be an insignificant from anyone, but for some reason when it was Gunwook, you already felt the urge to cry completely invade you in an overwhelming way, because that was the truth, he really cared, and it made you sad not knowing what to say to him. Pulling a paper from inside your book, making origami had already become an inevitable habit to control anxiety, a small hobby from when you was a child that ended up lasting until now, with each fold it was as if it slowly became easier to deal with the whole environment.

— I don't know... There's no reason for me to be sad, right? I wasn't denied or anything — That was true, you had never come out so you hadn't had any disappointments during Valentine's Day, but now you questioned whether it was a good decision as it felt even worse dealing with the weight to be truly alone.

— You should give something to Ri- —The sharp edge to Gunwook's speech came in the form of your hand firmly pressed against the Korean's full lips, widening your eyes in pure panic as you looked around to make sure no one had heard him just saying your crush's name like it was the dumbest thing in the world.

— Have you finally lost your mind?

Ricky was a difficult topic, complex to talk about so vaguely. To say that he was popular was almost to diminish the relevance that the chinese boy had in the school, you would never dare compare him to any other popular person in that school, he looked much more like a prince walking among commoners than just someone charismatic who was a class leader like Gunwook. He was handsome, smart, silent and graceful in everything he did, it was impossible not to fall in love with him and you were no exception, but you weren't a person who deserved any attention from the other either, which again left you feeling a bit downcast.

— How would I give him anything? What does he not have? Only on Valentine's Day did I see chocolates and more chocolates fall out of his cabinet... The door wouldn't even close anymore! — The words rushed out of your mouth and you wondered if Gunwook was keeping up, but it was just the only way you could talk about Quanrui without completely freaking out and slamming your head against the wooden table. Muttering low and putting your face in your hands, you really didn't know what to do, but now that Gunwook had already put such an idea in your head, it was inevitable for your brain to go through several scenarios where you declared yourself and were completely humiliated.

— You could give him this flower... I really like your origami, maybe he does too!

Gunwook was literally like a beautiful fairy full of flowers and sparkles around him as he talked so romantically about proposing to the most desired boy in school, while you at most looked like a shrunken, disheveled ugly goblin trying to believe you might have a chance with the handsome prince. You felt pathetic looking at the paper flower in your hands. Quanrui was the greatest example of money there was, why would he accept that piece of garbage?

— I think I'm going to pass getting humiliated today... I'll go ahead to the club — You didn't feel so comfortable in that noisy and busy room anymore, and the idea of ending up somehow ruining the amazing day Gunwook was having just for be unloved was giving you a headache.

Packing your things into your bag, you smiled at Gunwook, shifting your gaze for a moment to the flower on top of your desk, deciding at the last moment with a glimmer of hope that your romantic side hadn't yet been crushed by bad feelings, only to take into account your best friend's worried look in your direction, with no intention of actually delivering it to its intended recipient.

And even with all those thoughts pretty much settled in your mind as you left the room in a bit of a hurry and just slowed down the halls, your feet took you almost automatically to the cabinets where you'd first noticed Ricky a few months earlier.

He was beautiful that day, but it was hard to find a day when he wasn't. However, what was different was that he looked out of place, with a large, dark sweatshirt covering his entire body, with the hood pulled so far forward that it was difficult to even see the blond strands that were so distinctive on him. Obviously you had already heard about the Chinese boy who was a prodigy and above all he was extremely handsome, but seeing him like that trying to hide from the almost empty corridor made you forget for a second who he was, genuinely caring for him as a person, and it was exactly at that moment that you decided to talk to him, in an audacity that you had never shown to anyone, just trying to know if the boy was okay and receiving a nod in response.

Such a stupidly simple encounter made you so in love with him, who would have thought.

Now you could notice the strange coincidence that your lockers were really so close to each other, subtly touching your nameplate and sliding just two to the side to find his, "Shen Quanrui", very imposing, really suited him and every appearance it carried. With a smile on your lips, it was almost strange not to see any gifts overflowing through the bars outside the cabinet, but maybe the girls were really waiting for him to answer someone, not desperate to get a chance. Deciding to let the side that listened to Gunwook speak louder inside you, you took the paper flower to the locker openings, placing it inside until the end of the stem, but keeping the flower itself outside with a proud smile in the face.

And would you really have left it at that, resigning yourself to your platonic crush going anonymous forever and maybe one day eventually getting over what never would happen... If it weren't for the chill that went down your spine a few seconds after your silent statement, causing you to spin on your heels and find yourself face to face with a confused Ricky, looking at you only to then stare at the flower hanging in his locker.

— Hm? Y/n...? — It was almost a sin to hear your name come out of such a calm and melodious voice in such an awkward situation, even more so with Ricky's eyes shining in complete expectation trying to understand probably why you were there when he hadn't declared himself at any moment in Valentine's day, or how you had the courage to be humiliating yourself in such a way when no one else had done it... The possibilities were many, and all of them painful making you want to disappear into your own clothes.

— Hi, Ricky... — The awkward silence stretched after that, with your eyes wandering to your feet that restlessly rocked in place, but curiosity soon made you look at Quanrui noticing that he was also moving the box of sweets in his hand, as if he couldn't think of a way to say anything. Feeling your stomach sink at the thought that you were somehow preventing him from proposing, you didn't know if you wanted to cry or throw up with despair, but both options seemed reasonable. — I'm sorry, I must be disturbing you...

— No! — The tall boy’s hand were warmer than you would have guessed, curling completely around your wrist as if he was afraid you would run away again, which made you look at Ricky confused, trying to understand what that meant until he cautiously stretched out the box in his hand towards you. — Sorry it took so long...

Bonjour!

I'm back from my trip and spent the travelling time in Picrew thinking about my OCs, so I'm here to present them to you! Also a little introduction to them. This is for Serendipity.

(I don't know how foot work, I'm European, sorry).

Alec (Alexander) Blake, he/him, 1,81m in Newman meters

He's Newman -aka giant in this world-, 23 y.o. Soon to graduate as an Architect. He's quiet but a bit tough and honest when he speaks up. He's been struggling with money since always. He has 3 older sisters and a niece. They all have their monetary problems so he doesn't want to bother them with his. He likes to play piano, used to compose the base of a song and sell it to some productions so he could keep up paying off taxes for college. He usually finds it hard to find inspiration.

Also not all songs fit on the market, so he has another job where he is so good but doesn't like it... You will find out soon!

He has a resting bitch face energy but I promise is a good guy.

Hanna Walker, she/her, 1,67m in Older meters (around 7cm in Newman measurement)

She's Older -aka tiny-, 19 near 20 y.o. She's nervous, brave and hardworking. Loves her family more than anything. Always has been so curious and hopes to explore the wide world enlisting herself in the Military Force. She has one brother and lovely parents. Also, she's so damn straight and somehow manages to find big tall boys the sexiest (hehe).

She's not good at strategies or studies, but is so flexible and adaptable. Some people used to say she was so "manly" when she was younger.

Leo (Leonard) Walker, he/him, 1,50m/6cm

Hanna's little brother, he's Older, 14 y.o. He's not full grown yet. Leo is the sweetest, cutest and smartest pretty boy in this world. He's always supportive towards his loved ones. He admires Hanna even when she thinks she's a fool or a disappointment, he looks up at her as a heroine.

He's so good at history, mind games and writing. If he wasn't so shy he could be a charismatic leader. He's currently looking for a chance to get a place into college. He wants to be a traductor and translate old manuscripts or to be a writer.

He's not athletic nor a warrior. Not even courageous. Just a smiley kid.

Connor Adelbert, he/him/they/them he doesn't care, 1,73m

Connor's Newman, a crazy one, 31 y.o. He's a freaking genius, almost a doctor who threw away college and is now a drug dealer. It took him years to give a try to do drugs, but he finally did. Now he consumes once or twice per week.

He's Alec's best friend and even if he is a bit weird, hes so loyal and lovely. He would throw himself off a cliff if Alec needed so.

He has no contact with his family, but he sends them money every single month.

Hope you find them interesting. I already have images for Jamie and Connor in State of Nephilim but it would be a spoiler to show them and explain them. And yeah, there are two Connors but they are not the same person and it has an explanation, I promise.

I would love to draw all of them for you but my hands aren't skilled in any way. So sorry about that.

INTJs and Management, or Why Izzy Hands Was Always Doomed to Fail as a Captain

Warning: Meta shitposting ahead. Please have your tongue lodged firmly in your cheek before engaging.

So one of the more “legitimate” criticisms I’ve seen of Izzy is that he’s clearly, canonically, a bad leader. Anytime he’s given any sort of managerial control, he either:

Lords it over everyone as obnoxiously as possible

Tries to impose order while keeping his employees entirely in the dark about what’s actually going on

Panics and throws up

Clearly, the explanation here is that Izzy isn’t nearly as competent a pirate as he likes to think he is, and he’s just somehow managed to manipulate Ed into thinking he’s indispensable. Right?

Let’s go Business School on this.

The Myers-Briggs Personality Test was made up by some smart business people (probably, I can’t be fucked to Google it right now) to divide people into specific personality types and, in doing so, make it easier to build teams, manage people and spot potential areas of conflict. It’s basically astrology for MBAs. (My business school professors would probably not approve of me explaining it this way, but they don’t follow me on Tumblr, thank the good Lord in Heaven above.)

Side note- I have mixed feelings about Myers-Briggs. I think it can be useful as a framing device when you’re trying to figure out why someone might think or react differently than you. I like it as a theoretical exercise. I would never work somewhere that wanted me to take it as a prerequisite for being hired, any more than I would answer a classified ad that said something like “No Scorpios.”

So back to Izzy. I know, deep in my boniest of bones, that Izzy is an INTJ personality type like me. How do I know this? I just do. Go with me on this. Google it, read the description and tell me I’m wrong. I’ll wait.

INTJs are people who fall on the Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking and Judging ends of the four spectrums the MBTI uses. Known as “The Architect” or “The Mastermind”, this personality type tends to manifest in sidekicks, tragic villains, and that guy in your office who you’re pretty sure the department would collapse without but who you know absolutely nothing personal about.

They’re usually competent, often annoyingly so, but they tend to view things like social niceties, networking and team-building as a waste of time. So you don’t usually see them in leadership positions unless they’ve clawed their way up through the ranks and outlasted everyone else, and if they lose a position to a charismatic rival that they consider less intelligent or hardworking than them, rest assured they are NOT happy about it.

(These are also the guys who just write “Happy Birthday.” on your birthday card with no personal message or smiley face or even an exclamation point. It’s not that they hate you personally. They just don’t understand why we have to do this every year. Doesn’t everyone just immediately throw these cards away? They do.)

Anyway, because of their competence and the rigid standards they tend to impose upon themselves, INTJs can and do end up in positions of power. However, I would argue that not everyone views attaining these positions in the same light. INTJs don’t accept these positions because they want to manage people. They do it because they want the ability to hold everyone to the same standards they hold themselves to.

When an INTJ is promoted to be the boss, they don’t think see a fun, interesting interpersonal challenge (like Stede) or an opportunity to act with total creative control (like Ed). They see a chance to finally make sure that everyone is doing exactly what they’re supposed to, to make this machine run as efficiently as possible, and maybe be able to actually sleep at night without worrying what mess they’re going to have to clean up in the morning.

Essentially, Izzy’s dream crew (and mine, and I would argue a lot of INTJs) is an army of clones of himself that know everything he knows and require no communication. Just a ship full of Izzy’s quietly toiling away at their assigned tasks, asking no unnecessary questions and never causing any drama because you bottle that feelings shit up where it belongs.

(Now’s as good a time as any to mention the time I worked somewhere for six months and didn’t tell them I was getting married until two days before the wedding, when someone asked if I had weekend plans. Hi, @stanningjay!)

This dream is unattainable, and I, as someone who has been to both business school and therapy, know this. Izzy, unfortunately, has been to neither of these things, and is therefore completely unable to manage his expectations of what being in charge will actually be like.

Am I saying this excuses his shitty behavior toward the crew? Absolutely not. I’m just saying I get it. When I’m put I charge, I have to constantly fight my instinct to look over people’s shoulders and correct their mistakes, roll my eyes when someone asks a question I already answered, or schedule all birthday parties to take place on the same day so we can get it all over with at once and get back to work. And I do resist these impulses! That’s the beauty of taking some time to reflect on yourself and also not being in weird, doomed love with your immediate superior. Everyone has different circumstances they’re dealing with.

Honestly, I think Izzy’s cringetastic “Izzy’s Revenge” performance was him trying to do things he’s seen more charismatic leaders do, and failing horribly because he doesn’t understand the context. Humor, irony, theatricality- all things he’s seen used to great effect. Ed does cringe shit all the time (remember that little rope swing?) and people love it. Stede’s constantly lording his wealth and status over his crew, with his massive cabin and fancy breakfasts for two, and they’re apparently willing to face down the British Navy for him. All Izzy has to do is the same kind of things. Hell, he can do them even harder, skip all that tedious rapport-building and establish himself as a leader as efficiently as possible! Needs more salt! Hey, why isn’t this working? Okay, fuck this, everyone shut up and get back to work!

Izzy’s never going to be a good captain unless he can understand why the things good captains do work for them. And until he gives up on that beautiful dream of a clone army who he never has to explain anything to.

Can INTJs be good managers? Of course! The MBTI is not meant to be used to figure out who has aptitude for which job. It’s a tool to help you realize your own biases, habits and blind spots, and be mindful of them when you’re making managerial decisions.

Can Izzy ever be a good captain? Hard to say. Unlike most managers, Izzy doesn’t have the luxury of clocking out at the end of the day, or of finding personal fulfillment outside his job. He’s got his livelihood, identity, emotional connections and sense of actual, physical safety all wrapped up in a big spaghetti ball of unspoken assumptions, and it would take a huge amount of work to untangle all that. Work that, let’s face it, would be a pretty thankless job for whoever took it on.

It would probably have to be a team effort. Maybe Ed and Stede could invite him over for a drink and *gunshots*

royalty au where george and dream are royals in opposing kingdoms and george isssss like idk 27-29 and dream is 21-23 but george's dad died when he was likeeeee 16 or 17 so hes been king since then and dream is still prince in his own kingdom but his father is old but georges father and dreams father didnt get along when georges father was still alive and dreams father insists on carrying out the rivalry that they had even though george literally paid him to shut him up, theyve been at war for years, close to a decade, (both families squabbling for more. both families have had issues for generations) w georges kingdom not losing much but dreams losing men, money, food and other resources bc his dad was a selfish ruler. at some point famine takes over dreams kingdom and george offers the king enough food to feed his whole kingdom for the winter in exchange for the kings only heir and the end of the war ('i will give you enough food to feed your whole country for one winter if you remove all your men from the battlefields and leave your only heir under my care, promise me the end of your bloodlines rule and i will make sure you live through the winter') (dreams dad struggled w having kids so losing his only heir would be a big deal) dreams dad never let him leave the castle often so he doesnt fully understand the state of his country but he understands that this war has wrecked their country and theyre on the brink of collapse so he willingly goes w george (''''''willingly'''''' meaning he gave himself up despite his fathers protests w the plan of sneaking back somehow) so george provides food for dreams country and dream follows george and basically lives by his side at all times??? idk what role this would be called but ykkkkk basically dream follows him around as george just runs his country and hes a cold a mericless ruler making all the decisions needed to make his country profit but he always makes sure to ensure the benefit of his people the people always work together and hes built shelters for the homeless and makes sure theres open opportunities for trading w other kingdoms and plenty of farms/food so they never suffer from famine and implemented a strong education system so everyone has a chance to excel in something. dream doesnt know much abt his own country bc his tutors and family always implied that their country was the best based solely on how well the upper class citizens were doing while there was a high homelessness rate and such, so dream always assumed 'if we're doing well everyone else should be doing just as well right?' bc he never knew any better but george got him a reliable tutor (techno, who also happened to be a war general/soldier whos a tutor while hes not deployed) and has people teach him to fight/defend himself (punz and sapnap bc i said so) and teach him how to be a strong respected ruler without being selfish and bigoted. when he first arrived in georges country he expected to be locked up and even potentially tortured bc hes the son of a king and bloodline who this country has been fighting w for generations but the people dont mind, hes given a good room and treated like royalty BC HE IS george only took him to his country to ensure the ending of dreams bloodline, not to make him miserable. also i take it back george isnt a 'cold and mericless ruler' hes just distant at first but dream sees him w his people and hes smiley and nice and open and charismatic and everyone loves him AND HES CONFUSED hes v distant w dream, not necessarily cold or anything more jsut hesitant? if that makes sense he really has no reason to be but he is and only around dream but eventually george takes him travelling to the peaceful parts of the kingdom, tutors him personally on specific topics (busy man doesnt have time for tutoring him all the time LOL) and teaches him to properly rule a country while still having the respect of ur people and having them like you to the point of wanting to help the country progress and perform well. dream sees this and wonders why his father never did this and george goes

You’re okay, friend! Don’t worry about it!

Asking me to pick any Spartacus character I want to rant about is a tough one, because there are SO MANY that I would love to break down! It came down to Naevia, Lucretia, Oenamaus, or the Man Himself, and ultimately, I chose Spartacus!

How I feel about them: honestly... at first I thought he was the most eye-roll-able Mary Sue, and I was annoyed haha but Spartacus actually suffers at the hands of the writers in a similar way that the female characters of the show do— he’s presented more as an ideal to be projected upon than as a character. And once I started digging deeper into him and giving him more nuance, and researching the real historical Spartacus a little bit, I started to really love him. Like, he’s flawed and contradictory, and always trying his best, and always loving fiercely. He’s admirable, even in his failings, and that’s what makes him a compelling character, AND a mythic figure.

Romantic pairings: Sura— full stop. As soon as she said in that one flashback “you will never love another woman”, I was like YES GIRL YOU ARE RIGHT. And then in like, the next episode, he and Mira had to sleep together and I was like (dripping sarcasm) yay I love it when straight men write things, A+ choice, thanks I hate it. And then there was a woman every season... but he never loved another woman, and I will forever be here to rep what Sura could have been if they had maintained historical accuracy and not killed her.

BROTP: EVERYONE. Spartacus is the king of found family, my man’s got FRIENDS. One of my favorites is the brotherhood between him, Crixus, and Agron. I also think that there’s a really deep, special mentor type of relationship between him and Nasir. I love the idea that Nasir tried to stab him and Spartacus went “I like this one!” Then there’s obviously Varro. RIP to that sweetest, most smiley and wonderful man. But one of my favorite BROTPs for Spartacus is Mira. I think they could have been the best, most balanced of friends and really helped each other be the best versions of themselves if they hadn’t been forced into a relationship by writers who think all female characters must have relationships revolving around sex.

Unpopular opinion: okay— I don’t actually know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, because this is kinda niche haha but I love making star charts/ assigning astrological signs to my characters. And it’s a really easy cop out to say all the top four (Spartacus, Agron, Crixus, and Gannicus) are fire signs. And, I mean, there is something to be said for it. I think Agron is an Aries, Crixus is a Leo, and Gannicus is a Sagittarius— those are all fire signs! But I don’t think Spartacus is any of those. I think he’s a libra. An air sign all about justice and balance. That feels like it’s as good a drive for vengeance and justice against Rome as any other sign, y’know? He’s charming, he’s charismatic, he’s a natural leader— libra!

What I wish had happened in canon: it would’ve been neat if they took down Rome before it even got to become an empire... just like, shake up that historical bag and see what happens. I wish Sura had lived and they got to “kill them all” together. Ideal. 10/10.

LMAO So I’ll try and make this informative starting with the foundations of BTS, the members, and the official links LMAO I also tagged some bias tumblr pages and group update pages.

Foundations:

Also, yes! BTS has been an active idol group since 2013. They had their first live stage on June 13, 2013.  They are managed by a company called BigHit and was founded by a famous Korean composer named, Bang Shihyuk, more known in the K Music industry as Hitman Bang. The company itself was small and didn’t have big artists on it’s roll and roster yet, but the members and Bang PD took a chance on each other.

They had very humble beginnings. BigHit didnt have their own building, instead they rented some floors in one building. One floor was an office space, one was a practice studio, small room for recording, small rooms for production. The members themselves had to fit in one small bedroom with 3 double deck beds and a small solo bed for Jungkook.

They first introduced themselves through a series of Vlogs before they even debuted as BTS, which actually means 방탄소년단 Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boyscouts). Initially, they were supposed to debut as a rap group but the company decided on making them an idol group. 

Their music has always been targeted towards the millenial age group and their lyrics aspire to inspire the youth. They did produce a number of love songs that were pretty usual for kpop idols but as they found their voice and produced their own music, more of their colors as individuals shone through. They sang and wrote about their struggles, hopes, dreams, which a lot of us can relate to.

All the members are quite filial, always talking about their family. They are also very humble are always in awe of how much they have achieved together. Their loyalty and care for each other is very apparent in the way they interact. They all have a good, weighted understanding of music and desire for growth in their skills. 

Kim Namjoon (김남준 aka RM, formerly Rap Monster) 

position: leader, rapper

bday: September 12, 1994

height: 181 cm (5’11.3”)

family: parents, younger sister

hometown: Ilsan

BT21 character: Koya

Born in Ilsan, he is a smart cookie and an avid reader. It is a fact that his IQ grade is 148 and that along with his rapping prowess, made him a standout even as a rookie idol. He is also known as the English speaker of the group. According to him, he learned by watching the series FRIENDS and listening to western music. Before being part of BigHit, he was already gaining ground as an underground rapper under the name “Runch Randa” in 2007. He was only in middle school.

RM decided to join a rap crew called “Daenamhyup,” which consisted of some of the top underground rappers. RM then auditioned for another rap group which is where he met Untouchable’s Sleepy who was so impressed with him and he passed him onto Bang Shi Hyuk.

Bang PD basically created the whole idea of BTS around RM. He said that the moment he met RM he knew that he was special and it would be a waste of skill to not hone his talent. 

RM now has the most production credits for the lyrics he writes and songs he produced for BTS. His lyrics are very poetic and are usually profound, finding root in various forms of literary works. He has a very commanding stage aura when he raps.

He has released 2 mixtapes so far.  His first mixtape RM was released on March 17, 2015 and his second, Mono was released last year, October 23, 2018. His studio is now Rkive (formerly Mon studio).

Personality wise, Namjoon is more timid than his stage persona. He enjoys quiet morning walks in nature. His song Reflection even has a layer of one of his recordings of his surrounding while at a park. He is very clumsy, hence his nickname in the group as “god of destruction”. He also has a very interesting take on fashion which you can see from his #kimdaily posts on twitter.

Kim Seokjin (김석진 aka Jin)

position: eldest, vocalist

bday: December 4, 1992

height: 179 cm (5’10.5”)

family: parents, older brother

hometown: Gwacheon

BT21 character: RJ

Though Seokjin is the eldest member of BTS, he often doesn’t act like it. He was street casted by BigHit. Idol companies usually do this in Korea when they find someone with standout visuals in a crowd. He was actually scouted by SM too (company managing EXO) but he thought it was a scam and he never showed up. He took his chances with BigHit. 

He had no singing nor dancing exprience when he started training with BigHit. He wanted to be an actor. All of his skills come from sheer determination and hardwork. In my opinion, he has the most emotional voice among the members. His range has developed immensely. 

Despite having a cheerful and light hearted persona, he is actually really deep and smart. He graduated from Konkuk University last February 22, 2017 with a degree in Film and Visual Arts and majored in Film and Acting. He was part of the early admissions list and is now taking his Masters degree for Film in Hanyang Online University. 

Personality wise, he is loud and playful. He is also easily surprised. He gained the nickname “Worldwide Handsome” after his visuals and confidence made people pay attention during one of the red carpets in the US. His father is apparently a CEO and his mother is a beauty queen.

He said he gained his confidence after bleaching his hair blonde and gaining much reaction during their live performance of “FIRE” where he gave air kisses. To top his amazing visuals and vocals, he also plays the piano and the guitar. Oh! And he has a sugarglider as a pet. No joke.

Jung Hoseok (정호석 aka J-Hope)

position: rapper, lead dancer

bday: February 18, 1994

height: 177 cm (5’9.7”)

family: parents, older sister

hometown: Gwangju

BT21 character: Mang 

Jhope, also called fondly by the members as Hobi and Hoseoki, is the lead dancer of BTS. He had no rapping experience prior to training with Bighit and was initially trained to be a vocalist. 

He was fairly known in the dance scene of his hometown and was even a part of a dance crew called “Neuron”. His love for dancing led him to audition as a trainee at a company called JYP (company that manages GOT7). He passed a few auditions there but was eventually cut as a trainee. 

He didn’t give up though and went on to audition for BigHit. He started training as a vocalist for the supposed rap group which included RM and Suga, but due to the influence of the rap trainees around him, his affinity for rap and lyric writing grew.

He is now in charge of dance for BTS and though he doesn’t get much center formation attention or spotlight, everyone knows that he is the one helping the most with choreographies and training each member. He is very detail oriented and is very observant of each member. Namjoon even said that if he wasn’t the leader, he would want Jhope to be the leader. 

He has a number of production credits too and released his own mix tape, Hope World on March 1, 2018. His studio is also called Hope World.

He has a very smiley persona and his energy is always alive. He is also the most easily scared, he is scared of almost everything! The members said that his happy persona came with the name, not that he was named Jhope for how he has always been. Jhope said that the name used to be burdensome but now he loves it and wears it with pride as the Hope of ARMY and BTS.

Park Jimin (박지민 aka Jimin)

bday: October 13, 1995

height: 173cm (5’8.1″)

BT21 character: Chimmy

Park Jimin is arguably one of the most charismatic idols out there right now. His duality of being sexy on stage and fluffy cute off stage make fans everywhere melt. This characteristic is shared mostly by the Maknae line (younger members line) of BTS. 

He has had the shortest trainee period among the BTS members. before he joined Bighit, he attended the Busan High School of Arts, where he was a top student in the Department of Dance. His specialty is contemporary. One of his teachers urged him to audition for BigHit. His natural skills got him in. He trained as a vocalist under BigHit and now his vocal skills has improved largely as shown by his solo works.

He used to have chubby cheeks which earned him the nickname of Manggaettok (rice cake) and the members also call him ChimChim because of a show they had called American Hustle Life. 

He is the most active on social media. He even posts for other members when the fans say they haven’t seen the members for too long. Most affectionate member also goes to him. He is often seen hugging or clinging on to the members. If a member cries, best believe Jimin will hug and comfort them after. 

But Jimin isn’t all sweets, smiles, and sexiness. He is also very strong willed. He judges himself very harshly and strives for perfection. Lately, he has appeared to be more relaxed and said that he has been allowing himself to take breaks and also enjoy, which the fans who worry about him is very happy to know.

Kim Taehyung (김태형 aka V)

The most handsome male specimen in the world for the year 2017. Kim Taehyung’s charms are endless. From his square shaped sheepish smile to his deadly on-stage smirks, it’s hard not to be drawn in by him. 

He wasn’t planning on auditioning. He accompanied his friend who wanted to audition. The auditions were held in their school because he went to an arts HS.  The staff saw him there and convinced him to audition too. He trained his voice under BigHit too and now has the widest vocal range among them, not to mention his deep, soulful baritone balances out the vocals of the rest of the singing members. 

He has a very keen eye for arts and aethetitics and he uses this for his hobby, photography. His favorite photographer, Vante even acknowledged his work. Tae-Tae, as Jimin fondly calls him, is the only one so far who has debuted as an actor among the members. He played the role of a young warrior in the series called Hwarang. His dancing has also improved. He didn’t have much dancing skills when he started, but his groove has now definitely changed and he has his own way of interpreting dance moves too.

In terms of lyrics writing and producing, like the other vocalists, his skills developed too. He co-wrote 4 o’ clock with RM and has continued to take part in writing for their songs.

Taehyung is very curious and unique. His laugh is deep and adorable. As part of the maknae line, he is also quite playful but his maturity has grown through the years. He has a pomeranian named Yeontan (coal brick), who is now one of the pets of the fandom.

Jeon Jungkook (전정국 aka Jungkook)

BT21 character: Cooky

The baby of the group, Kookie. He is a well trained dancer with the smooth pop voice that carries most of the melodies of Bangtan’s songs. 

Before joining BigHit, Jungkook auditioned for a talent show in Korea called SuperstarK. He didn’t make the cut for the show, but after the audtion, he received a number of calling cards from scouts of different big K-Idol companies, including the very small BigHit. Jungkook said that he chose BigHit because he was very impressed by RM. After he joined BigHit, he had the opportunity of being trained in LA for dance.

He has a tendency of starting different projects for himself, playing the drums, the guitar, etc. But, he found his niche in film production and even has his own brand of behind the scene footages of BTS under his production brand, Golden Closet Films.

He has been called the golden maknae because of his natural skills and visuals fit for being an idol, not to mention that body and his determination to keep working out for it. No wonder companies were eager to train him. 

Jungkook has been growing in his music production too and has helped compose, produce and write some of their songs, like their song, Magic Shop. He is a powerhouse on stage and baby our of it. He looks up to his hyungs a lot and said that they basically brought him up since he started training at such a young age.

Min Yoongi (민윤기 aka SUGA)

bday:March 9, 1993

height: 174 cm (5’8.5″)

BT21 character: Shooky

Suga’s love for music was developed at an early age. When he was 13 he started working at a studio to learn more about music production. As the years progressed he joined an underground rap group in Daegu called “D-Town.” And even before auditioning for BigHit, he has created beats for various underground big names in hiphop. 

He auditioned through a hiphop competition called “Hit It” and he placed 2nd over all. He initially joined the company as a producer but Bang PD was able to convince him to be part of BTS. He still jokes that Bang PD tricked him into joining cause he thought it was going to be a rap group. 

Though his outward demeanor seems cold and lazy, the members actually talk about how he spends most of his time working at his studio and going home when the sun comes up. He may also seem timid but he has been vocal about various social issues like LGBT, poverty and education. He has also made it a personal traidtion to donate to charities or gift fans on his birthday.

He released his mixtape Agust D on August 15, 2016. There he opened up about his struggle with mental health and his view of himself. He also narrated his journey to becoming part of BTS. His studio is called “Genius Lab.” 

To date, Yoongi has helped in producing and writing a number of BTS songs too. He also produced a song titles Wine with K singer Suran which topped various Korean charts. It was in the end lauded and he received his first solo award for production. Hence his nickname, Min PD.

Jiwon is a really good old friend of yours. Not like 'good', not really 'really', but surely 'old' and sometimes even a 'friend'. Well. Decision of spending an evening together was not quite a bad idea. He started to behave lately, and was a bearable human being, even funny and nice sometimes. You wanted to know what caused those extreme changes, but decided to not to disturb it to not to ruin it.

- And you know what she did? She hid the fact that she stole it! Like, I can't believe..

- But what do you want her to do? Being, like, 'oh, you know what, I stole this, that and that, just saying'? It's bullshit. Use your head before talking, you, - he put a hand on your hair to mess with it while laughing and you just roll your eyes since it was better to not pay attention to his antics rather than fight back. Useless anyways.

Anyways it was a good way of wasting time on watching a movie or drinking or doing God-knows-what. You end up re-watching the first Iron Man for, like, tenth time and by the end of the begging of the film it was only a conversation that was matter.

- Look whos talking, mister I-Say-Shit-Without-Thinking-Since-I-Started-Talking, huh, - but you, being, well, you, continued bickering. Following the easiest path was never a choice. And it's funny to see him frustrated. More like a hobby of yours.

- What? Why are you being so brave tonight? - he looks at you with those angry eyes and you answer with same expression. Because.. well, we already discussed it.

Then you are being pushed to the side by his hand on your shoulder. Seeing his all smiley and mocking 'I am the winner' face while he sips his drink was not pleasant at all, so with a deep sigh and a slight kick on his leg, you stood up to straighten your shirt.

- It's not like I was scared any other day, you know, - he follows your hands with a gaze and nod, taking another sip. And now that was surprising. Because having him checking you out is surely something you have never experienced. Jiwon adjusts his pose and avoids your eyes when you bend a brow.

He's not ashamed; to be honest, you are not entirely sure if he has a clue what shame actually is.

- I know, - and it suddenly awkward. Maybe it just you, but he definitely changed his expression. Now he tries to burn a hole in a TV screen and you just stand there not knowing what to do. Very nice. Just a dream, - I want another bottle of soju. Have some? Bring it.

He didn't even glanced your way. Usual Jiwon is back in town so nothing to worry about.

So you made yourself comfortable on a couch again and took a cup with soju from his hand.

- Help yourself, - you smiled at him with false politeness and nodded to a kitchen, receiving muttered curses and soft 'I didn't want it that much anyways'. You smile, shaking your head.

He's really cute, you just couldn't deny it.

By knowing him for more than a few years now, you got an immunity to all his attacks (almost), so you actually found him adorable mostly. He indeed is. When he's not a moron, he's either a squishy sleepy lost ball or a charismatic rapper and powerful, smart leader. And you even had just a tiny small little micro crush on him before. Well maybe a huge ass crush if being honest. And you even sure that he knew. You were young, naive and inexperienced. Of course he knew. It was obvious.

The thing is, he never took an advantage, even if he had a chance, and it made you respect him at some point. Now it's gone, just a funny memory; yet something is still there. You just preferred to ignore it. God knows why.

- Someone is spamming you with texts and you are too deep into admiring me to notice.

Being slapped in a face? That's how it feels like.

Resume: you stared at him while thinking that you used to have a crush on him while holding a cup near your mouth but not drinking while your telephone kept ringing while he was fully aware of what was happening for God knows how long. Well.. Shit happens, right?

- Was thinking that you need to see a dermatologist.

Maintaining a straight face when you actually had an internal breakdown was not an easy task, but you managed. Now the task is to ignore his smirk. Like hell he would believe. Ugh.

You opened a text from your friend, well, a bunch of texts, from just one tiny friend, to see her asking you repeatedly what were you doing. Lots of unnecessary photos of her face with all the faces she could have manage, surroundings, and similar messages; she is a really close good friend. The only reason for tolerating it.

Still funny sometimes tho.

- C'mon, let's take a picture, - someone need to break the ice now, right? You leaned backwards closer to his face to adjust an angle and put on the dumbest expression you could maintain, - One, two..

- I'm going to kiss you.

- Three.. Wha-

And then his lips are on yours.

There is not a single thought in your mind.

You weren't even able to be surprised.

The kiss is so light; his lips barely touch yours and yet it's so breathtaking. So soft.

No one ever kissed you like that.

You don't want it to end; you will need to talk about it, to sort things out, but for now his hands on your cheeks and you let him deepen the kiss. It's somehow magical now; the atmosphere around you.

Feeling your arms getting weaker by every second, you just lean into him. Into comfort you never knew even exist. His hands reach you neck to gently guide you and you completely surrender. It's impossible to not to.

God, he's amazing. And when you realise that one of your hands is slowly making it's way up his tight, you hear loud crack of the phone hitting a floor.

Perfect timing.

It ends this magic just like that; you open your eyes trying to catch a breath.

And then silence.

Complete silence; just his slightly hitched breath and your heart. You wander if he can hear it.

You wait for him to joke, to be nervous or at least be even slightly surprised. But when you meet his eyes, he's so calm. He looks at you directly with so fucking gentle smile.

You have never seen him smile like that. And you were lucky; he could persued you to do anything by looking that way.

There is only you who look like a deer caught in a headlights, actually. And Jiwon finds it adorable.

His hands never leave your body and now he keeps your head straight for you to look at him; and you just choose to shut your eyes tightly. Causing him to crack and laugh.

You have no idea what to feel now, you just really want to decide later; but the sound of his laugh was never that charming.

You never imagined your heart can beat that fast.

- Look at me, - you just shake your head, realising that one of your hands is now stuck in the air and you, like a complete fool, place it on your knees. And another one, that was on his thight all the time. For fuck's sake, oh God. Still refusing to open your eyes tho.

- No, - voice is like a tiny squeak and he finds it funny again when you feel him caress your neck with his fingers; it's so light and tender you barely notice. But he does it.

Remember fast beating heart? Now it's faster and it seems like a good idea to just die in his arms.

- Please, - he rarely asks this polite and you decide to give him a chance. Since he already kissed you. You are going to face him anyways, it's not like he's planning to fuck off. Not like you want it.

- I broke my phone, - your hands now on his wrists and you find yourself not being able to do what you wanted to do.

He's so warm. You can feel it. You can feel his pulse under your fungertips. So calm.

It's impossible to look at him now.

- I know, - he's a lot closer now; voice is barely audible. Perhaps you would get mad if it wasn't so good.

Yes, long forgotten crush, all that staff; but you can't deny that he's exactly what you ever wanted. As simple as that. You just choose to avoid those feelings to not to get hurt. Because he never made a move; was always around, like a friend. He made it clear then. And now he offers something different to you. Yes, it feels really good.

It would be better to know that he does it not because he's drunk and wants to mess with you.

His presence feels different all of a sudden. Hot. Tempting. Delicate?

- You wouldn't be able to keep them close forever, - Jiwon laughs again and you feel, suddenly, a smile creeping on your face as well.

He's not like that, right? Jiwon is not going to do that to someone.

- Don't underestimate my fear of facing you, - you feel him stroking your hair lazily and he gave your ear a light pinch.

- You said you are never afraid. Never, my ass, - he's mocking you again as if kissing wasn't enough. Not going to let it slide, you unconsciously open your eyes to see him smiling ever so brightly.

- It wasn't.. Fuck, - it's not the moment that breathtaking, it's him.

His expression is priceless and he's so close and so happy. God, so happy.

You are falling for him so hard you can feel your ribs clenching.

- Now I'm going to kiss you again. Ready? 1..

He never finishes since it's rather difficult to talk while kissing. You can feel Jiwon smile widely in the kiss and this is incredible; all that happening is incredible. His hands on your waist and he's pulling you on his laps and you happily help him. Way too happily perhaps since he breaks a kiss to laugh, while giving you short pecks and getting down your neck with wet kisses. The skin feels like it's on fire; everywhere you feel his fingers touch you, it burns. You move your head to give him better access, burying fingers in his hair, slightly tugging on it.

You would sell your soul to not to moan like a teenager, but you can't. All you manage is biting your lip and pulling his hair harder. He likes it. You can feel it. You totally can feel exactly how much he likes it.

- Let's pretend it was our first date and when I asked you to be my girlfriend you said yes, - you catch something in your throat not because you are taken aback by his audacity, but because he definitely leaves a hickey on your neck.

The thing is, you are mad, happy and turned on at the same time.

Tagging on his hair, you make him look at you. And damn those eyes.

Now you just turned on. Nice.

- What made you think I would say yes?

- You just jumped on my lap like you..

- I understand your point, now shut up, - well, testing him is not an easy game to play.

The Great Gifting War

The Great Gifting War had begun two years ago when Warren had given Vanessa a bouquet of flowers and a heartfelt card for Valentine’s Day and Bracken showed him up by giving Kendra a weekend trip to a mineral hot spring a few hours away from home.

Vanessa had been green with envy.

Warren hated it.

So he vowed to do better next time.

When Vanessa’s birthday came along, Warren had her dress to the nines and took her out for a fancy dinner.

When Kendra’s birthday came along, Bracken took her out ballroom dancing and coordinated a surprise party for her which involved the entire family.

Warren gave Vanessa an expensive necklace for Christmas.

Bracken gave Kendra one of those charts which showed what the night sky looked like on the evening they first met, along with a pair of impossibly sparkly – were those diamonds? – earrings.  Which, of course, were also magical.  Because why not.

It’d been like that ever since.  Warren would give Vanessa something thought-out and meaningful, and Bracken would upstage him.  This Valentine’s Day, however, he was going to win.  He had to win.

“Seth,” Warren began when he found his cousin in the kitchen by himself.

“What’s up?” Seth responded.

“Do you know what Bracken is getting Kendra for Valentine’s Day this year?”

Seth looked at him strangely. “This is about your weird gift-giving competition, isn’t it?”

“What gift-giving competition?”

Warren’s cousin rolled his eyes. “You know, where you try and give Vanessa something incredible and then Bracken outshines you so you try and get her something even better at the next opportunity? That competition?”

“I knew it.  I knew he was doing it on purpose,” Warren stated, pounding once on the countertop with his closed fist.

Seth shook his head. “No. He isn’t. He just thinks it’s weird that you glare at him every holiday.”

“How does he not know that this is a war!?”

The younger man shrugged. “You know he doesn’t always pick up on social cues. Especially when all you’re doing is glaring at him. Have you tried talking to him?”

Warren looked at Seth like the kid had grown a third eye. “Why would I do that?”

Seth rolled his eyes again and let out a sigh which emphasized his feelings of exacerbation. “Well, have you tried talking to Vanessa?”

Warren looked at Seth like he’d grown a fourth eye. “That’s even more bizarre than your first suggestion.”

Seth placed his empty glass in the sink – he’d been drinking water while they’d been talking – and then turned to exit the kitchen. “Whatever, Warr. Good luck with your one-sided battle.”

Well.  That conversation had been fruitless.

Two days later, Valentine’s Day arrived.  Warren had planned to get up early in order to make breakfast for Vanessa and serve it to her in bed, however his alarm clock didn’t go off and instead she’d been the one to serve him with breakfast.  Which, okay, he was disappointed, but then when she leaned in to kiss him after she set the tray of food down on top of their dresser and he caught sight of something black and lacey underneath her sleep shirt, he quickly set those feelings aside. (He found out later that Vanessa had made a point to turn off his alarm early that morning.)

The day was spent like any other regular day at Fablehaven – with him working alongside his brother and Seth on the preserve while Vanessa left for the day to go to the job she’d picked up a little over a year ago as a veterinary assistant. She’d dropped Jack, their son, off at daycare on her way out in the morning. Warren had flowers and balloons sent to her at work, and was pleased when she sent him a text message consisting mainly of hearts and cute smiley faces.

And then she sent him another one.

Nessa: I have something special planned for you tonight. ;) Suit up, we’re going out.

Warren: Oh? What if I already had plans for you?

Nessa: Reschedule them.

Warren: :(

Nessa: Don’t be sad. Please?

Warren: :( :(

Nessa: Warren, please.  I promise this’ll be something you’ll like.

He could practically hear the exasperation in her next message.

Nessa: Seriously? You always plan things for Valentine’s Day. Let me be the one to take you out for once.

Warren: Fine.

Nessa: Don’t be like that. I’ll be home about 5:30. Our reservations are for 6:30. I’ll need to do a quick run in and freshen up, then leave type of thing. Please be ready to go. It’ll take us probably about 40 minutes to drive there.

Warren: Aye aye captain.

Nessa: Compare me to a pirate again and you’ll be the one with a missing eye.

Warren: Message received.

Nessa: I love you. <3

Warren: Yeah, yeah. Just come home. I miss you. <3

Warren: I feel gloomy without you around.

Warren: You are the sunshine which brightens my day and brings light into my heart.

Warren: …

Warren: Too much sap?

Nessa: Too much sap.

Warren smiled and put his phone back in his pocket, then frowned and pinched the bridge of his nose.  He’d planned to take Vanessa out for dinner and dessert that night, but then she’d supplanted his plans in favor of hers. Again. All he had for her now was a card with some bedroom coupons in it.

There was no way he’d win the Valentine’s Day battle against Bracken this time.

Another holiday bites the dust…

The car ride into town was… interesting.  When Vanessa had said she’d made plans, he hadn’t expected that she’d made plans in cahoots with Kendra.  The four of them – Vanessa, Kendra, Bracken and Warren – all piled into one car and drove off to have dinner together.  The women sat in front and happily chatted all the way into town, with Bracken occasionally joining in and otherwise sending concerned looks toward Warren, who was oddly quiet.

The restaurant itself was a very nice one.  Situated right next to a river, it was the type of place that just reeked of romance as soon as they walked in the door.  Low overhead lighting and candles at every table, pristine white tablecloths, slender vases holding fresh red roses, a live violinist, and waitstaff who wore crisp black and white suits. It was, honestly, probably better than the place Warren had originally booked for the two of them to go to.

Great.  Another way he’d failed in The Great Gifting War.

Vanessa and Kendra excused themselves to the restroom once they’d been seated and had placed their dinner orders, which left Bracken and Warren at the table by themselves.  Bracken wore a relaxed smile on his face as he looked around the restaurant at the other occupants and the area in general.

“What’d you get Kendra for Valentine’s Day?” Warren asked, drawing Bracken’s attention.

“I gave her a bracelet earlier.  What did you wind up giving Vanessa?”

“Well I was going to take her out for a nice dinner, but she decided to upend my plans and make it a double date instead,” he replied.

Bracken gazed at his friend intently. “What’s been bothering you?”

“Bothering me?  Nothing’s bothering me.  Why?”

“You’ve been quiet.”

“I don’t know, I guess it just sucks to have your romantic plans be uprooted.”

The unicorn gestured around the room at large. “This is a nice place.  It’s very romantic.  Our ladies chose a lovely venue for this evening.  Why not enjoy it?” The relaxed smile he’d worn earlier adorned his face once more.

Warren sat up straighter and rested his right arm on the empty chair next to him, then gestured to Bracken with his left hand. “You’re too perfect for your own good.”

“Excuse me. What?”

“You. You’re sensitive but not too sensitive, you’re charismatic, honest, inherently trustworthy, a leader, and you’re a freaking Hufflepuff.  I mean, who doesn’t love Hufflepuffs?”

Bracken was thoroughly confused. “Hufflepuff? What does that have to do with anything?”

“You’re also the best gift-giver anyone’s ever seen. Especially me. I mean… how am I supposed to compete with you?” Warren picked at the tablecloth in front of him with his left hand, trying to wipe away some clearly non-existent dust.

“Wait… you think gift-giving is a competition?” Bracken raised his eyebrows. “Why?”

“You can’t seriously tell me that you haven’t been trying to one-up me every holiday,” Warren stated flatly. “It’s painfully obvious.”

“I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Come on, man. I get something nice for Vanessa, you get something nicer for Kendra. That’s how you operate. Every holiday, for at least the past two years.”

Bracken paused before he responded. “Is that why you’ve made a habit of glaring at me every holiday?”

“Seriously?  You didn’t know?”

“Didn’t know what?  That I’ve apparently been engaging in a gifting battle of all things?” he let out a long exhale. “I don’t understand – why would the gifts I have been giving to Kendra make you uncomfortable?”

“Because… because I know Vanessa wants that kind of thought and attention from me.  Because I keep trying to give her things that I know she’ll like, and then you swoop in and give Kendra something better.  It… it feels like it cheapens my gift, somehow.”

“Warren. I promise that I have not been trying to… upstage or otherwise ‘one-up’ you. I simply adore Kendra, and one of the ways I show her my love is to give her things. She likes to receive thoughtful gifts; it’s one of the ways she feels love. You and Vanessa are different. Vanessa doesn’t care much for material things. She’d rather spend time with you. Haven’t you noticed?”

Warren looked at his friend as he mulled over what had been said.  “Continue,” he prompted after several seconds had passed.

“I don’t really know what else to say,” Bracken answered. “People feel and express love in different ways. Vanessa cares about spending time with the people she loves; that’s why she makes sure to spend her free time with you and with other people she cares about. You feel love through touch; it’s why you appreciate hugs and throwing your arms around people’s shoulders and giving fist-bumps and probably other activities involving touch which I don’t want to elaborate on here.” He blushed a little and cleared his throat. “My point is, Vanessa appreciates gifts like anyone else would, but that’s not the main way she feels and understands love. You simply spending time with her is how she knows you love her.”

“Hmm.  How do you know all of this?” Warren was genuinely curious.

“I’ve lived a long time, Warren. I’ve observed a lot of people and a lot of different types of relationships. After a while, I started to notice trends in people’s personalities. It gets easier to pick up on with practice.” Bracken chuckled. “I may not be the most socially fluent person to ever walk this planet, but I can be pretty observant from time to time. Vanessa smiles when you’re near. Her face lights up when she sees you. You’re her favorite person to be around.”

“Who knew that our resident unicorn was a love expert?” Warren teased.

“Love expert? Him?” Vanessa asked as she and Kendra returned to the table. She looked at Warren incredulously.

“He is,” Kendra agreed as she sat next to Bracken and wrapped her hands around one of his arms. She planted a kiss on his cheek and smiled sweetly at him.

Bracken looked at Kendra as though she were the only thing in existence.  And, when Warren turned his head, he found Vanessa looking back at himself in a similar fashion.

“He’s right, you know,” Vanessa whispered as she leaned in closer to Warren. “I appreciate every present you’ve ever given me, but the best gifts you give are gifts of your time.”

Warren grinned at her.

“Don’t make it weird,” Vanessa warned.

He continued to grin.

She sighed. “Alright, it’s weird.”

“Who knew that beneath that tough exterior, Vanessa Santoro is a big softie on the inside?”

“Shut up, Warren. You’ve made it weird.”

Kendra sat up in her chair and interrupted before Warren could form another response. “Actually, Vanessa and I have an announcement we’d like to make.”

“Oh? What’s that?” Bracken’s attention had been caught. So had Warren’s, for that matter.

“We unknowingly gave you both kind of the same gift for Valentine’s Day,” Vanessa smirked, however there was a happy gleam in her eyes. “So we thought it’d be fun to make this a double date and inform you of your presents at the same time.”

“Okay, now I’m really curious,” Warren chimed in.

The women looked at each other and smiled, then looked at their husbands and said at the same time, “We’re pregnant.”

Bracken was out of his chair in a heartbeat. He picked Kendra up and crushed her in a tight embrace, tears forming in his eyes as Kendra giggled and also started to become emotional when she looked up and saw his expression.

Warren grabbed Vanessa’s hands and held them to his chest. “Really?” he asked her, a look of wonder crossing his face.

“Yes,” Vanessa answered as she smiled.

He pulled her into a hug as well and kissed her. Vanessa was the one to terminate their public display of affection; she leaned back, then folded her arms and looked sideways at Warren. “So… do I win?”

“Win what?” Warren wasn’t following her train of thought.

She smirked at him. “The Great Gifting War.” She let that sink in for a moment. “Did I win?”

“Wait… you knew about that?”

“What?  A gifting war?” Kendra questioned, her face scrunched up in confusion.

“It’s a long story,” Bracken said, still holding Kendra in his arms. “I’ll explain it to you later.”

“What’s there to explain?” Vanessa teased. “Warren’s been in a stupid contest with himself for the past couple of years, trying to out-gift unicorn boy over there.”

Bracken rolled his eyes at the unappreciated nickname while Warren sighed. “I get it, I get it. It was dumb. Can we move on?”

“Did I win?”

Warren paused and then smiled and bowed his head.

“Okay. You win. I can’t really top that one.”

Vanessa kissed him on his nose. “Excellent,” she declared. “I love winning.”

Warren had to admit, this was an ending to The Great Gifting War that he could appreciate.

Tell us why Logan is not "Rory's Christopher" like ASP claims :)

Here’s the thing…i don’t even quite understand what Amy meant by that comparison, exactly? Logan being compared to Christopher can be interpreted in a number of ways, and I think that’s why fans are arguing over it…because not only is it a vague statement, it’s also true and false no matter how you interpret it?

One way that you can interpret it is that Logan and Christopher have similar personalities. To me that’s like saying that Rory is like Lorelai—sure they have some similar traits, but overall they’re different people. Like…yes, I get that Rory fell in love with a guy who reminds her of her father. Logan does have a Chris-like vibe. They’re both positive and fun-loving. They’re charismatic and charming. They’re both funny and smiley and are all about joy, parties, no responsibilities, let’s have a good time. They’re both communicators and tell the Gilmore women how they feel openly and often. I get that broadly speaking, Logan and Chris are similar. But no, they’re not the same person one generation removed. Logan, unlike Chris, has a backbone. Logan’s a born leader. He’s decisive, he’s fearless, he’s competent. Even at his worst, Logan is a Yale grad who is a gifted writer and a natural at running the YDN (and I assume his business ventures beyond). In contrast, Chris found out his girlfriend was pregnant at 16 and dropped out of school (which, by the way…I still don’t understand why that happened? He wasn’t involved as a father, so why he didn’t continue with his school still baffles me). So I mean, I guess maybe Amy meant that the immediate, surface attraction that Lorelai had for Chris, Rory also had for Logan? They were both hot for funny, optimistic, life of the party type men? But beyond that, the comparison makes no sense, even if we ignore S7 Logan.

The other way to interpret that statement is that Logan plays the same role in Rory’s life that Chris played in Lorelai’s. I get that. Logan and Chris both bring out the more adventurous, playful side of the Gilmore women. They encourage them to have fun, not take life too seriously, enjoy themselves in the moment, be impulsive and more immature and avoid responsibilities. I think Chris and Logan are both unpredictable, which makes them a little unstable as partners. Again, sure, I see the similarity, but the comparison breaks down because Chris is incredibly unreliable while Logan is. If we ask what role these men play in the Gilmore women’s lives, then on a broad scale Chris disrupts Lorelai’s while Logan expands Rory’s. Chris brings chaos and then leaves, because he’s flaky and cannot keep a promise. He might not show up when Lorelai (or Rory) needs him. In contrast, Logan brings fun and parties to Rory’s life, but he doesn’t bring chaos. He’s incredibly supportive of Rory—he’s her #1 cheerleader, no matter the situation. He encourages her to step out of her comfort zone and conquer challenges that Rory might be too meek to even attempt alone. Unlike Chris, Logan is stable and present. Additionally, I think the underlying issue in comparing Logan and Chris in this way is that it requires for us to assume that Lorelai and Rory are identical and want the same things from their partners. The thing is, I get why Lorelai and Chris can’t work out: because they’re both immature and fun-loving, when together they’d never get anything done. Lorelai wants (and needs) a partner who’ll ground her, whom she can rely on, who’ll always be there, and that’s not Chris. Rory and Logan make a fairly stable couple (a lot longer than Lorelai and Chris ever managed to be) because I think Rory wants (and needs) a partner like Logan. She can be a little too meek, too afraid, too grounded, too serious, and Logan helps her relax, have fun, try new things, and tap into her strong, adventurous, playful side. And unlike Chris, Logan is there, always. Ultimately, while Chris and Logan may overall bring fun and lightheartedness in the Gilmore women’s lives, unlike Chris to Lorelai, Logan balances Rory’s personality out, and unlike Chris, Logan sticks around and supports Rory, so this interpretation also doesn’t work either.

The final one that I can imagine Amy meant is that Chris and Logan have the same fate in the Gilmore women’s lives. That is, Chris got Lorelai pregnant and Logan got Rory pregnant. Lorelai cannot and will never be able to fully let Chris go. Rory cannot and will never be able to fully let Logan go. Lorelai and Rory both know that for one reason or another, they cannot make it work with these guys, either due to timing or circumstances or fate, but that chemistry or safety or “what if” feeling will always draw them back, even if it’s never going to work out. Lorelai and Rory will ultimately both find another fated love whom they’ll marry and who’ll help raise their kid. Chris and Logan are doomed to loving the Gilmore women, never being with them, not raising their children, accepting their family business role, and never having a loving and fulfilling partnership with another woman. We see this happen with Lorelai and Chris. In AYITL we know that Chris barely has a relationship with either of his kids, he has accepted his life in the family business, he has no partner, and (in Rory asking Chris not to come to Lorelai and Luke’s wedding) Chris and Lorelai still have something that can hurt Lorelai’s relationship with Luke. Because AYITL ends where it does, we don’t know if this is going to be Logan and Rory’s fate as well, or if this is what Amy meant in making the comparison. If it is, then that’s incredibly depressing for Logan. Chris’s fate is awful. If Logan—who (even if you don’t like the guy) is superior to Chris in just about every aspect—has the same fate, then that’s tragic. I don’t know what conclusion you can even draw from that, except that all men with happy, fun loving, charismatic personalities are doomed to a life of loveless relationships and careers they don’t enjoy? It’s not great for Rory either, because Lorelai met Luke in her mid 20s and it took them like 25 years to marry/fully commit. If we’re taking that comparison to its end, then if Rory’s having Logan’s kid at 32, then Rory will be retiring when she marries “her Luke.” This whole scenario is absurd and sad and not…good. 

So yeah, I don’t exactly understand what Amy meant by the Christopher/Logan comparison. I see how it works on a broad/surface level, but I feel like Amy would be insulting her own writing if she’s suggesting that she writes identical characters that will have identical relationships and fates generation after generation. To me, Chris and Logan are different people. Their relationships with the Gilmore women are different. So, unless Amy really does mean that Logan will follow Chris’s fate, I just don’t see how we can in any way see Logan as Rory’s Christopher.

oh boy… here we go LOL. so below is a solid wall of text a small-ish desc of each member (except jungkook who i already wrote an essay abt here lol) and my reaction to seeing them irl akdkfksd

♡ to answer ur question, yes jimin is smol compared to the other members. imo, jimin was the prettiest out of all the members. rather than small, i’d say he’s really petite….. almost delicate? graceful? that same kinda aura a dancer has. his movements were so powerful and fluid. and he moves around alot when he performs, leaning back and bending forwards, body rolling everywhere. i rate him 45% cute and 55% sexy. bc he literally is sexy and cute at the same time. he smiles with that angelic face but does body rolls with his body??? no offence but thats cheating and i hate him. how dare he combine these two deadly attributes so well sdhfjd. he was SUPER SMILEY during soundcheck. after jungkook had wandered down the center aisle to where i was standing, jimin came over too. i think it was during namjoon’s rap in dope, he looked so impressed by how loud the crowd was when we chanted the fanchant parts and smiled SO BIG. mochi sexy is well and thriving ;_;

♡ namjoon is SO HANDSOME. he gave off this aura… like this imposing, suave af aura, idek if that’s the word to describe it properly. he’s intimidating, in a really hot way shdjjfdhddfdfj. just by looking at him and the way he holds himself, he looks like a leader, the kingpin. he’s rly tall, like we all know that, but OMG his legs are so long, plus since i were looking up at him, it gave him even more of an illusion of height. he’s so fucking charismatic when he raps omfg, like during cypher, he fucking killed his verse, tore it all the way up. his eyes sparkle so much when he talks and laughs, like during his ment, and he becomes so soft and giggly. he’s beautiful. he speaks so eloquently too and HIS VOICE. MY GOD. his speaking voice is so gorgeously deep i wanted to roll around in it forever. 

♡ when i saw seokjin on the screen for the first time during not today, i choked!!!! @stylists, thank u so much?? for styling his hair like that for the concert, i am forever in debt to you. seokjin’s visuals have always been a 12/10, but it doesn’t compare to seeing it irl. MY EYES LITERALLY WATERED DURING AWAKE…. i couldn’t really see him on the main stage so i was staring at the screens and HE LOOKED INTO THE CAMERA SO MANY TIMES with that longing, lingering gaze and exposed forehead and WOW BYE BITCH NO ONE SURVIVES THAT SHIT. he looked alot taller than i had thought too. but unlike namjoon, his aura was sort of princely. like, he had just walked out of a fairytale as the tall handsome talented prince. HE WAS SO FUNNY TOO OK. like his ment was fucking hilarious. and he kept messing around with jungkook during the soundcheck anjdjhshjdjhsdsdh. HE ALSO BLESSED EVERYONE WITH HIS FLYING KISSES AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY. to receive those kisses irl and not through a screen was truly smth ill never forget.

♡ ok, so imo, tae and jin are the visuals of this visual group called bts. they are just exceedingly good-looking. which is why, when tae walked out during soundcheck, i screamed so loud my throat went raw, bc it was just my initial reaction in order to overcome the shock of realising i was looking at the face of a god. honestly, i didnt even pay attention to the other members for a hot second bc i was too busy gaping at tae and yelling at my friend, “HOLY FUCK TAE IS BEAUTIFUL??????” just….his face is superior. jawline so sharp i wanted to get sliced!!!!!!!!! hes so charming too, he kept crouching down in front of the stage, resting one side of his face on his hand for a moment, looking into the crowd. but yeah, i just vividly recall myself losing all my shits when i first saw him lmfao.

♡ seeing yoongi irl was the most surprising i think. i know hes a cutie, but even when he was at rest in the concert, i kept thinking, “he. is. so. fucking. cute.” like…. idk what it was. it wasn’t even his height or anything, it was his face. HIS FEATURES ARE SO SOFT. nothing about min yoongi irl was harsh. imo he was the softest looking member. every time they stopped to talk or say their ments and it wasnt his turn, yoongi would be looking into the crowd quietly. i felt like he was trying his best to get a look at every single fan’s face, bc he was continuously staring at the crowd. there was always a very very slight smile tugging at his lips tho, but he was the quietest and calmest of all the members. WHEN HE DID SMILE BIG, IT WAS SO RADIANT. i took quite a few pictures of him smiling after his ment, bc it was a such a big joyous gummy smile and my heart with doing flips. 

♡ hoseok. wow. where do i begin. hoseok literally kicked my entire ass to the moon on every level except physical. almost all my friends came back from their concerts with the words, “hoseok is beautiful” hanging off their lips and i’m not joking……HOSEOK IS BEAUTIFUL. he had so much stage presence, like it’s overwhelming. every time he came to the front of the stage, my breath would hitch in my throat. CLOSE UP HE IS EVEN MORE GORGEOUS. like, his features are soooooo nice… his nose, his mouth…HIS SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every time he flashed a smile at the crowd I GASPED. every. single. time. also, my favourite thing abt hoseok is how he SMILES SO MUCH during performances. it was the reason why mama was the best solo stage to me, he looked like he was having so much fun! HE’S A PERFORMER IN EVERY SINGLE WAY, a pro! hoseok was also really good at fanservice. he seemed to favour the front of the stage, doing his raps close to the edge etc, so lucky me!!! i got to bask in his presence at a closer proximity countless times ahshbhdjshjsdsd. so yeah if ur not already a hoseok stan, you will be a hoseok stan after u watch him perform live.

the one thing that was universal for all 7 members, was how PRETTY they were. when i tried to think of the right word to use, ‘pretty’ explained it the best. even though they were right in front of me, i was so shocked by how unbelievably pretty they were. they all look as if they crawled out of some unrealistic shoujo manga as the hot smart and talented boy the protagonist falls in love with. 

if u made it here, i’m literally clapping for u shdhsds im so sorry for my shit descriptions but I TRIED. im still exhausted so this is the best i could do atm 😬
