Things such are Hell and Heaven are canon in Hetalia, where pretty much anything that humans believe strongly enough exist.

Think in Gilbert telling to some of the others Europeans nations, half-joking, half-serious:

"I'll save you a spot for you in Hell :))))))))"

Much later (20XX or 2XXX but I doubt we... forget it), after Gilbert's death, the Devil using Gilbert's likeness to say hi to the same Europeans in nightmares—meanwhile Gil is actually recreating DOOM, and mostly losing, but don't worry he will get the hang of it eventually.
