strongest memory of that movie is going to a daytime showing with my dad when I was 10, the only 2 people there, and learning about the history of michael jackson on the way home as he explained his theory on the connection between mj's life and depp's portrayal of willy wonka.

#he also ranted about ''bee movie'' when we went to that 2 years later #and how he disagreed with the moral that humans should be responsible for the state of the earth and work to reverse its damage #because no one should have to do anything.#also iirc he was making the point that he felt barry being punished by the narrative for wanting to stand out as individual #which caused the domino effect of the planet dying because he stepped out of line and encouraged bees to no longer work #was brainwashing the young audience to believe they should conform to how they are told to behave or suffer the consequences.#I know it's tempting to think ''based'' but believe me that was just his opinion on that particular day lol #he's a notorious flip-flopper on his political views.#he could've made it as a youtube video essayist
