So I watched Cats Warsaw pt. 2 - how a ship may have saved me from another petty breakdown.

Hey, hi, this gets pretty personal. Not everyone will probably understand, I've had people telling me I'm taking it too seriously but I don't exactly control my emotional investment in stuff.

So you know I have this ship, selfship, with Skimble.

Maybe some of you know that after I took a closer look at the B-way revival (my first and favorite production) and noticed Jenny and Skimble pretty much act married... I went through a breakdown where I almost abandoned my ship - because I felt disgusting. Like a homewrecker, like my OC was just a sidehoe.

What is once seen cannot be unseen. It took me a long time to reprogram myself to think of them as just friends until proven otherwise, and even then I felt like I was lying to myself.

And then, a few days ago, the info drops that the Skimble from the Asia Tour - my favorite one - is Jenny's "husband". Her actress's words.

This paired with the gross truth I learned about the origins of the Skimbletable made me feel desperate again. Like there is literally no good choice for me. Either a married man or a creep. I cried for hours bc I'm just dramatic like that.

Those few days ago I told some people that no amount of friends saying "he loves you!" would help because I don't doubt it. In fact if Jenny is his type then my Lily is too. But that all I could hear would be "he loves you TOO."

I don't want Lily to be a "too".

Not like this.

Not to her.

In comes Cats Warsaw, where Skimble shares all his most tender moments with... Jellylorum.

And at last I.... finally realized what TRULY bothers me about Sk*mbled*ts. I mean, I kinda KNEW it already, and I've said stuff before that should have led me to that conclusion, but now I finally see clearly and can put it into words.

It's the constancy. The inevitability of her always being there paired up with him, close to him, no matter the production.

And in that arrangement Lily would always be a "too".

But... here I got offered an alternative, and I was surprisingly really on board with Jelly and Skimbs. Because if it doesn't always have to be Jenny and Skimble, if it can be Jelly and Skimble... then it can be Lily and Skimble too.

What's funnier, I immediately latched onto it. Like, seeing it legit makes me happy and inspired instead of sad and helpless and heartbroken, PURELY BECAUSE IT'S SOMETHING ELSE. I'm even thinking about a poly (Jellilyshanks?) Warsaw AU bc I also love Jelly plenty and would not mind that at all.

Thank you, Cats Warsaw, for popping up exactly when I needed you.

The final score: 7.8/10

Designs: 2/10 kinda ugly by being lackluster and messy, the silhouettes are not very clear and a lot of cats have similar ones which diminishes recognizability. They don't look like cats but don't look entirely like humans either, at least they're somewhat trying.

Music: 10/10 this cast is FANTASTIC. I love the tiny ending change to "Macavity"

Dancing: 7/10 I definitely judged it too harshly the first time - there are some songs where it could've been better (Macavity, M&R) but overall, it's pretty awesome. While the choreography is a bit meh sometimes, the actors really do the most with it most of the time. Also, they have one of my favorite Macavity fights.

Interactions: 10/10 there were plenty to look at. No strong family headcanons popped out at me so to speak but what I appreciate is that a lot of the characters (pretty much all the main ones I've been observing) are pretty much always in-character (as in, interacting in a distinct way rather than just doing generic cat stuff), hence why I'm giving it a 10 even if in reality it's more like... 9,5.

Comfort watching: 10/10 BABEY!!! I think it's pretty much gonna be my comfort production. No ship with Skimble that makes me uncomfortable, no Alonzo (or anyone else) having uncomfortable contact with characters I see as minors/very young adults, no weird pas de deux stuff. It's perfect.

I decided to go with a romantic relationship cuz why not and the one i picked is Semaforro x Galaretka aka Skimble x Jelly

They are just so cute together 💖💖💖

They're just so cute and flirty and having the best time together, and it just makes me melt. Like just look at them!!! Bustopher is going on and on about his clubs and they have eyes only for each other

I have a hc that Warsaw Tugger isn't Old D's biological son, but he was adopted and raised by him

His mother is Griz and she left him at the station that is Skimble's "base", he saw her leaving and went to investigate and found baby Tugger. Initially Skimble planned to just raise him with Jelly or to give him to Jenny and Bustopher who just had Misto, but baby Tugger was really fussy and miserable and no one could console him

That was until Old D showed up and offered to try too, and Tugger immediately quieted down, so everyone just kinda decided it has to be Old D, who for his part got really quickly attached to Tugger, and so did his older sons

Every time 98 Munk glares at somebody

Also every time he smiles

Warsaw Munk being just so confused when Tugger comes in saying Misto can do magic

Warsaw Cass giving Misto a boop on the nose during the Ball

Also them having a special handshake and doing it twice, also in Mr M

All of Feliks being Tugger's accomplice in RTT

❤️ A favourite ship

Currently my absolute fav ship is Mefistrap aka 98 Munk x Warsaw Misto. A bit of an unconventional one, I know, but I just really dig the dynamic , the drama potential from them being from different tribes and W Misto having power set very similar to Mac etc. And also cross-universe shipping is really fun XD

💚 A ship that you think deserves more love

Jellyshanks full stop. Cats Warsaw put me on that train first cuz there they are presented as a couple, and now i love to see it in replica versions too. I just feel that they are a really nice fit, both playful and caring and so on

Macavity x Cassandra, specifically the bat ear Cass. I kinda had it in the back of my mind for a while cuz an old au where it was a placeholder, but only recently realized i actually really like it. There's just smth about their possible dynamic that really speaks to me

Brotp: Skimblegus and Skimblebomb are biiiig ones, they make me SO happy. In the right hands, I also enjoy both ships romantically, especially since I already see the first pair as co-parenting Tumble, and the latter - as being Electra's parents in some productions.

Mehtp: romantic Skimblestrap. While I like the idea of Dad², my heart is just not in it no matter what

NOTP: Skimbledots. We been knew

Rarepair: Aside from Skimblebomb and previously mentioned Warsaw Jellyshanks - I do love Tuggershanks. As a guilty pleasure ship. I can't imagine them being in an actual relationship, but you know that kinda trope where two people fight a lot and there's a lot of tension, which along the way turns sexual and makes them "accidentally" hook up one night? And then perhaps continue having secret hookups? Yeah.... that. I also love their dynamic and I do see Skimble as someone who, in a way, admires Tugger even though he will never admit it - he wants to be "hip with the kids" and Tugger is just so effortlessly cool and loved by the youngins that Skimble yearns for his approval even though he scoffs at Tugger's chaotic behavior. On the other side, Tugger knows that Skimble has a hidden weakness for him and finds messing with him very entertaining. They have a mutual understanding that allows them to push each other's boundaries without crossing them, even if Tugger seems outright mean to Skimble sometimes.

Okay, tangent over. 10/10, frenemies with benefits, would let Tugger get it on with my man even in the Lilyverse if he wasn't taken in it

OTP: you know it's Jellydots (or whatever people wanna call it) 😭💜 At first it just made me really happy because it made you really happy and every association with it made me like "oh!!! My friend's favorite ship!! :D" but now I am ACTUALLY INVESTED

Brotp: well... I'm kinda soft for Jelly being my Lily's mom-friend 👉👈 While I typically don't count familial relationships as "brotps", I am OBSESSED with her entire family (which in my version includes Gus being her dad, brothers Gus Jr and Victor, daughter Cettie, and nephews Tumble and Pounce), partially due to you c:

Mehtp/NOTP (because there is one and it's kinda between the two): Jelly x Gus Jr. I don't hate it but it irks me because not only do I hc them as siblings (which I typically don't have a problem with, if people hc otherwise, so it's not enough of a reason), I also LOVE their familial relationship, it holds a very special place in my heart, so to see them as a couple makes my brain go "with all due respect, no 💜".

Rare pair: it's a rarepair for the sake of it being specific to this one production, but I am absolutely a sucker for Warsaw Jellyshanks

I would look for if the Chorzów production leans more towards the Warsaw vibe/choices, or more towards the newer productions, especially with the choreo and music

I'm really interested if they keep the Griz is Demeter's mother angle

For other relationships, I'm really really curious if they keep them like Warsaw did or not

So basically is Munk is flying solo, Demelonzo, Jellyshanks, Tugger and Misto as bffs and paired up with different added characters like Fantasia etc

I would love to know what magic tricks if any Misto does during his number and if his mute, and if Victoria does her Ball dance solo or not

The only other thing I'm really curious about is if they kept the clock props for Skimble and how his train will look like
