Merry Christmas, @per-the-jellicle-magician! I love how this turned out. Misto was a bit of a challenge tbh but i think he turned out quite nicely. I hope you like it <3

One of the nicer Warsaw costume pieces that I own, Myszołap/Munkustrap's collar. I'm not 100% sure whose it was but since it was attached to Damian Aleksander's costume I'm assuming it was most likely worn by him

It's quite thick, made out of black leather and big silver studs, each about 1.5 x 1.5 cm in size. It is a little bit misshapen due to how it was stored in the theatre's costume archive and the leather shows a bit of wear but overall it's in a really good condition

This version of the collar was worn not only by Aleksander but also by two other actors (Tomasz Więcek and Jarosław Derybowski) I don't know tho if all of them shared this specific one or each had their own in the same style. There did exist another version of the collar, one with 3 rows of smaller studs instead, that was worn by Michał Norkowski, the other main Munk (both versions can be seen on the actors here)

While I originally wasn't that interested in this piece and kinda got it by accident, I really fell in love with it and now it's one of my favourite costume pieces that I own

Here’s a few things I mostly worked on during my recent flight!! A bunch of lil girls from Warsaw, Aussie Teazer, and a lil dilute calico Etcetera to go with my calico Jerrie and Teazer!!

Sooooooo... I bought as much as I could, and it's Macavity's costume. Two versions of body, mostly by curiosity.

Boots are mostly of curiosity of how it is walking in dancing boots. And two posters from theatre, that simpler one thanks to an absolutely fantastic person who let us take a picture in her work place :) And Munkustrap's gloves, for fun.

Plan for now? Recreate missing parts, make copies and have a beautiful cosplay of Warsaw Macavity. And preserving that one. Later do copy of Chorzów Macavity, also as a cosplay.

Life is beautiful sometimes :)

This was the first non rep I've watched and I love it so very much. They quite literally have the best version of macavity every and for a while if replay it over and over along with Gus/growltiger. I love the sets and the whole vibe of the costumes and everything are just 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Favorite costume:

I like a lot of them but Demeter is my favorite and honestly I'd love to cosplay her, also her one concept art of her costume you posted from the book you have it STUNNING. Close follow ups are Bomba, Misto and Jemima

Least favorite:

I love most of these costumes and the whole vibe of them are everything. I don't have one I hate but imma just say bustopher on the principal that I hate bustopher as a character

i can't for the life of me find a good picture of Alonzo but I've seen enough stuff for it to worm its way into my heart.

Also I know Grizabella is Demeters mom in this and since griz is pink I could see Jemima being Demeters, either with Mac or Alonzo and little jemmy is pink like her grandma

Also I subscribe to @elegantpopularity theory of etcetera being a Tuggerlurina kitten

Initial Warsaw Demeter design by Dorota Kołodyńska, "one of the first designs that was to convince the English side of a Polish version of 'Cats'."

Notes around it say:

Top left:

- fur around the neck, extending down onto the costume

- type of a fitted dress with "????" at the bottom

Top right:

-"patchy" pattern. Combination of white, orange and black (?)

Bottom:

- too long narrow (??) pants. Fur ????

I don't know why this design ultimately wasn't used, but my best guess is that the concept just naturally changed and/or the design was modified to better fit the setting/actress/choreo/etc

There is a small chance that the Really Useful Company had something to do with it, as they apparently didn't like when the Warsaw designs got too similar to the regular Cats designs. This one does have a bit of a Rumpleteazer vibe in my opinion, especially the colours/pattern, so that potentially could have been a bit of a problem, but that's just my speculation

I'm not sure if the blue is an actual part of the design here, as it doesn't appear in that headshot drawing nor that colours note, plus the other designs showed in the book got similar artsy highlights at the edges too
