First #paragraph of #Warrenlehrer's "a life in books: the rise and fall of bleu Mobley" that begins his confession prison tapes at night. My eyes grew larger and i said #whoa while #reading this. I got the best/worst feeling of wishing I read this sooner. Like ten months ago when I first bought and got it signed. It's a bizarre mix of memoir, interview, and catalog of all 101 books that bleu made. You read excerpts of the books, articles, letters, reviews and they even reproduced #book covers. It seems intense but goddamn I'm interested. If i finish this in time, i wanna attend warren Lehrer's performance of his book at central booking in nyc on march 7th from 5-7pm. It's an art gallery that focuses "on artist's books and prints and their integration into the larger art world." I'm a straight dummy for not finding this place sooner. It'd be my second viewing on his mixed media performance. There's projections of the book cover designs, animations, and video performances. It was so cool to see it and I'm definitely going to love it more the second time around. If i could do even a quarter of his creativity towards my own work, i'd be so damn proud. Visual literature looks amazing and I'd love to do it one day. But why wait right?
