requested by ; anonymous (22/05/23)
fandom(s) ; pokémon
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; warden ingo
outline ; “Warden Ingo with reader that has ADHD 🥺❤️?”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
note ; first time writing for this fandom so am still learning the ropes a bit lol
he’s incredibly calm and stoic by nature so your periods of high energy and restlessness won’t really effect him
he won’t really react much to them and will generally just briefly acknowledge by asking if you need anything before returning back to whatever he’s doing
if you need fidget toys in order to focus then he’ll fetch them without comment or complaint, doing whatever he can to help you when given the chance
if you tend to lose track of time or dates, then he’ll be around to keep track and gently prod or remind you
e.g. if you’ve been working for hours without eating or drinking then he’ll fetch you a drink and gently remind you to take a break ;; or if it’s coming up to your friend’s birthday and you’ve forgotten then he’ll take you out shopping to get gifts — or just write it on your calendar in bold so you remember without his explicit prodding
whenever a new topic has caught your interest and you become extremely focused on it, he’ll be happy to listen to you talk about it — training his pokémon whilst you divulge everything you’ve learned about your new fixation
it might not look like he’s listening (his default expression doesn’t really lend itself to that), but he is and he’ll respond every so often with hums of acknowledgement or questions about whatever it is you said
he’s interested in what you’re saying but he’s also, well, naturally very stoic so it doesn’t come across as clearly as it does with his brother, emmett
unless it happens to involve pokémon training — in which case he’ll walk you through his methods and engage with you more actively because he is something of a specialist in the area (which he can’t really say for anything else that you could be interested in… he’ll still try and engage with you, though)
conversely, if you’re struggling to tackle or focus on an important task (be that study or work), then he’s happy to sit down and help you walk through it
or, if you’re being over stimulated by your environment and that’s what’s impacting your ability to focus, then he’ll take you out for a walk to somewhere quieter where you can calm your mind and just watch him train or talk or play with his team mates
crustle in particular can be quite playful with you and is excellent at relieving stress
and if you’re feeling under-stimulated then he’ll also try to help by removing you from it to go to somewhere more engaging for you, or he’ll provide you with something that might help (such as a fidget toy or stress ball)
he’s always there with a solution for your problems and after you start dating he researches quite heavily into your condition to try and see what will help you — as well as just generally observing how you go about your life as your relationship progresses
generally speaking, he may not openly show as much, but he’s a very attentive partner and does what he can to help you in your life whilst not being too overbearing — only stepping in if it’s absolutely necessary (e.g. you forget to take an antibiotic you need to take daily, or you hyper focus on a task for so long that you forget to take care of yourself)

Would you like to do Subma’s (separate) and warden Ingo with a Vampire! S/O. Just like general headcannons of what it’s like to live with them.
Vampire s/o’s for the win!
Cw : there is mentions of blood drinking, and I go into a bit of detail about that, so if that’s not your thing please don’t read! Other than that it’s safe!
-
-
Emmet
- he’s a little sad you can’t join him in the day time, and so he messes up his sleep schedule a lot just to spent extra time with you! Emmet is very clingy, even in his slumber where he clings to you like you’re his teddy bear.
- Though he jumps up and mutely squeals when you surprise him at work! Sure you maybe carrying an umbrella to hide from the sun, but you risked it just to see him!!! He’s dragging you to his office, closing the curtains, and smothering you with kisses!
- If he works overtime, you usually come to walk home with him, since the sun has gone down, you don’t mind tagging along. He of course, holds your hand and tells you briefly about his day, before kissing your cheek over, and over, and over again.
- Emmet knows he needs to get up early if he wants to get anything done before work, but he gets so comfy next to you, cuddling you, and you look so peaceful sleeping. Until he’s alarm goes off once, then twice, then three times, and you’re nearly hissing at him to go to work so you can actually sleep the daylight away. Cue fake monotoned offended gasp and him slowly falling out of bed because you don’t love him, it gets you to laugh and it earns him a light kiss before he leaves for work.
- He doesn’t mind letting you drink from him, in fact he likes it! You always make sure he’s okay with it, make him cozy, turn on a fun few hour long video for some background noise, and gently bite him, slowly feeding from him. Emmet always finds these moments close and pleasant, how it feels almost intimate when you two are snuggled up, and feels like you’re kissing him. It’s nice!
- You don’t drink from him very long, only enough to satisfy you and for him to feel slightly light headed. He’s always so giggly afterwards, and loves to kiss you, or nuzzle against you.
- Absolutely makes dumb vampire jokes, or the classic ‘I’ve come to suck your blood.’ While having the worlds fakest accent, he’s a little shit and loves the deadpanned expression you give him, or the pained smile, cause he knows he’s about to get it back.
-
-
Ingo
- Ingo is very attentive, and always has your feeding days scheduled on his calendar, notes, and reminders just so he won’t forget. He knows you get your blood from ethical sources, and you can’t always drink from him, as his blood needs time to replenish, but he always keeps them scheduled.
- When you feed from him it’s romantic, candles lighting the room after a nice meal, soft music playing in the background as you pull him to your lap. Kissing him, before slowly kissing down his neck and making a small bite to lick from. Your comforting hold on him makes him feel secure and loved, it’s easily one of his favorite things.
- He never expects or hopes you visit him at work, as much as it would be cute, he stresses over you even getting the smallest amount of sun touching your skin. He doesn’t want you to burn.
- However, he does get shocked when you do, only for him to realize he’s stayed way passed hours, and you’ve come to retrieve him. He tries to apologize, but you just ask to have your beloved back home, and it usually ends with you two walking home, enjoying the cool air of the night.
- Ingo has a hard time ruining his sleep schedule, even when he works late he’ll still wake up at the same time, so you take whatever time you can get with him. As a result, when it’s his day off, he waits until the sun goes down and takes you on a lovely date around town, or even a picnic! He loves just being able to treat you and pamper you.
- Sometimes, if you two are watching a movie with vampires in it, he will ask you questions and wants to know the history, or even if just what they are saying is accurate or not. He gets so excited, if vampire history will be something he’s extremely passionate and knowledgeable in, as it’s a way for him to be closer to you.
- Ingo is very sweet and loving, but honestly he can be a pain for a vampire. He wakes up with the sun for work, makes coffee, a light breakfast, showers, gets dressed, then leaves after kissing your forehead, all of this would be fine, if you had not just started dozing off when his alarm went off. Of course you know you can’t do anything about that, but it just gets mildly annoying every work day. He tries so hard to be quiet, but he fails every time and then tries to whisper an apology, but he doesn’t even know how to whisper. But he does make up for it on his days off.
-
-
Warden Ingo
- Meeting you was an experience he could never forget, it felt too familiar, and just felt right. So he stuck beside you, even if you couldn’t join him in the day, it was so secret you’d join him at night. The other wardens and clan leaders know you, and have met you, even if they do question why you are never seen when the sun is out.
- Warden Ingo is quite protective of you, and refuses to tell anyone your secret, you trusted him to know, and he refuses to break your trust! He doesn’t want to be alone again. But he adores when you join him on late night walks around the highlands when he’s doing the last of his patrol, or when he can’t sleep.
- Unlike the other two, he can’t get enough of you feeding from him, and you often have to put your foot down and tell him you’re done. You don’t want to risk drinking him dry, but he looks so hurt when you do, even if he understands and always apologizes afterwards. It’s just when you hold him so lovingly, keeping him close and comfort, with your lips pressing firmly against his wrist or neck, before tenderly biting and sucking on the wound. It makes his mind go into overdrive, like he’s been here before, but it’s too blurry and too many things are being thought of at once! If you just keep going he might remember more!
- You’re not mad at him for this, understanding that he just wants to remember who he use to be. You always whisper your love for him afterwards, letting him rest and sleep against you as he grows tired.
- As stated most villagers only see you at night, and occasionally see you and Ingo on dates at these times too! You’re well liked to those you have met, even Akari and Rei have somewhat adopted you as one of their guardians, since Ingo is like their uncle. They are stunned at the strength and speed you hold, it’s stuff of legends! And they can’t help but blabber away about how cool you are. Though it does make some people suspicious of you.
- Warden Ingo defends your honor and your name with a stern voice, once that shakes even Melli to the bone with how fiercely he protects your name.
- But most of all, the Warden loves coming back to his yurt to you, looking like you hadn’t been awake very long, making dinner for him. His heart melting at that soft ‘welcome home.’ You give him with a yawn, your fangs peeking from your lips.
- His memories will come back when they wish to, for now he will enjoy his moments with his beloved.
- Much like his Unovan counterpart, he wakes up with the sun, but unlike him, Warden Ingo actually knows up to get up from your shared bed without making a sound. The only way you know he’s gone is when you slowly start to wake up from the warmth slowly fading from his spot. He’s just about to put his shoes on when you let out a muffled “Ingo?” And like that he’s rushing back to you, apologizing for waking you, but kissing you on your forehead, cheek, and lips if you’re awake enough, before promising he’ll be back shortly after making his rounds.

Little Fluff is actually an older female Minccino that has raised several clutches already. Her already strong maternal instincts convinced her to adopt this sad adult human after she witnessed him having a traumatic flashback.
Ingo’s gonna need all the cuddles too because I’ve decided to enter him instead of Emmet into that contest.
Why?
Because Woodsman Ingo is more hilariously terrifying. 8’)

Warnings: Some swearing. At the very end. I initially said there was a brief identity crisis then realized the ENTIRE FIC is one long identity crisis so plz forgive me
Pairings: none. especially not bl@nkshipping. blankshippers DNI!

His name was Ingo.
When he’d first fallen, he’d woke in a strange land, confused, injured, and with no memories except his name. He’d been only half coherent, brain muddled with exhaustion and pain. They’d asked him his name, and he’d looked down at himself in a panic, taking a moment to center himself before he spoke the only memory he’d retained from his unexpected detour.
His name was Ingo.
He wore a black coat, with red accents and a blue band around the upper left arm. The hat that rested atop his head matched the coat, black with a red band and an odd emblem in the middle. Items of clothing that matched no other in Hisui, that made him stand out from everyone else in the region. Even the other clothes he’d been wearing when he fell had stood out from everyone else’s, an odd, white button-down shirt and black pants, accompanied by a pair of oddly shaped black shoes as well.
When he looked at the items, the name Ingo was always associated with them.
When he looked at himself in the mirror as he was wearing them, he saw Ingo.
And yet.
The name had never felt quite… right.
He had no justification for the feeling, no reason to believe that the only name he’d ever known since falling in Hisui wouldn’t be his own. The one time he brought it up with Lady Irida, it had only confused her beyond belief. Because how could his name not be Ingo?
He hadn’t brought it up with her again.
But the feeling never left him.
It wasn’t enough to derail him beyond function, so he had stopped thinking too much into it long ago.
As far as he or anyone else was concerned, he was Warden Ingo.
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
“Take care not to come uncoupled from me!” He called back to his young companion, the one he was guiding through Wayward Cave. The cave was, frustratingly enough, unlit, despite the dangers traversing through an unlit cave wrought for passengers unaccustomed to traveling through the area. He highly suspected Melli was at fault for removing them, but he had no basis for the suspicions, at least not of yet.
The young girl nodded, trailing only slightly behind him as she followed him through the cave.
“So you don’t remember anything from before Hisui?” Akari asked, clearly trying to prevent an awkward silence.
“Very little,” he admitted with a nod. “Though I will admit, leading a young companion through tunnels to safety… seems to ring some bells.”
Talking a lot always seemed to take a lot out of him, though he could never quite understand why. That was supposed to be his thing… right? Yet, it always felt like a chore, drawing out his words to the length he thought they were intended to be.
“Maybe this will help you remember some other things, then?”
He hummed, letting his thoughts wander, though he still kept a watchful eye out for danger. “Perhaps…”
Something, a vague, incomplete wisp of a thought passed through his mind, and he decided he may as well tell her about it, hoping it might lead him further down those tracks. “I recall, faintly, that I had a partner once…” Lightning danced across his mind, accompanied by dancing flames. “A precious one.” He initially felt pulled to the sparks, but no, that couldn’t be quite right. His partner was the one with purple flames, it had to be… “Its name escapes me, but I remember that it wielded flames with mastery. If only it were here, I’m sure it would light the way, luring us onward…”
Their path was impeded by an Alpha Crobat. He quickly rerouted, leading her down the other way towards the exit so they would not be forced to fight such a powerful Alpha in the dark.
“Have you remembered anything else?” Akari asked, looking at him curiously.
Anything else… yes. Another memory briefly flashed by, spurred on by the vague familiarity of traversing dark tunnels alongside another. “I’m starting to recall a man who looked… like me. We’d battle and discuss Pokemon, I think…”
Two scripts began warring in his head as vague battle memories flashed through, too scrambled together to be anything coherent. He was almost completely unable to get anything out of it, but then… “The words ‘I like winning more than anything else’ flashed through my mind just now…”
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
He stared in the mirror, frowning. Warden Ingo stared back at him.
Frowning, he had realized, took almost the same amount of energy out of him as talking so much did. He couldn’t quite understand. He was supposed to frown, it went right alongside his words and the black of his coat and hat.
So why did it feel so exhausting? Feel, so deeply inside, so wrong?
Without thinking too much, he allowed the corners of his lips to move, to curl up into a smile. It felt… right.
A stranger stared back at him.
It looked wrongwrongwrongwrongwrong
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
“Now then… Follow the rules and drive safely! We’re headed for victory! All aboard!”
The script felt right and yet still wrong as it came out. He knows he’s spoken these words before, but drawing them out, carrying them on this much, felt so wrong.
He didn’t quite understand. His brain kept telling him this was right. He was Ingo, was he not? He was supposed to be the one who talked a lot, who frowned, who expressed himself through words less than his face. Who wore black and battled with one Pokemon at a time (why wouldn’t he? One Pokemon at a time… that was how battling worked, was it not??)?
Who was he comparing himself to? Was there someone he knew back then, before Hisui, who didn’t do these things?
He didn’t have time to ponder these things, right now. He had a challenger- Akari was stood in front of him, her first time challenging him at the Training Grounds in Jubilife Village. He sent out his Gliscor, and she sent out her Samurott (who looked… different, somehow, than he expected. He isn’t sure what it was that he expected). She had been training hard, in the time since she’d closed the rift, trying to prove to Jubilife and to herself that she was worthy of the nine stars that adorned her scarf.
When she beat him, he wasn’t able to prevent his lips from curling into a more natural-feeling smile, even for just a few seconds.
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
He walked into the cave his Lady called her home.
He enjoyed spending time with Lady Sneasler and her kits, he’d soon come to realize after being appointed Warden. She was a wonderful distraction from the thoughts that plagued his mind, stopping him from constantly wondering who he was.
She didn’t quite have kits at this point, however. The eggs that laid comfortably in her nest were due to hatch any day now. Akari, who he’d surprisingly found himself growing closer to over the last few months, was beyond excited to see them after they hatched. She’d started calling him Uncle of all things, which felt strange yet still incredibly endearing. He hadn’t seen her for a few days, however, as she had told him she was heading out with Volo, one of the Ginkgo Guild merchants, to look into the local legends. She said she should be back in only three days.
Today was the third, and she had not shown up in Jubilife that day while he had been situated at the training grounds. To say he was worried was a slight understatement.
Lady Sneasler mewled contentedly at him as he entered, curled up near her nest as she watched her unmoving eggs. Well, not quite- one wobbled right after he thought that. A good sign! He hadn’t quite understood why helping his lady with her eggs felt so… right, to him. Like he’d done this before. But he never questioned it, just lent his assistance to his noble whenever the time for a new litter came around.
“No major changes?” he asked, approaching her nest. The eggs had been moving slightly for a day or so. Lady Sneasler shook her head, but didn’t seem worried. Things were progressing on schedule.
Suddenly, they both heard the frantic call of a flute from somewhere above the cave. He recognized Akari’s tune for Lady Sneasler almost immediately, and alarm bells went off almost immediately in his head. He’d never heard his niece’s playing sound like this.
Sneasler jumped to action immediately. He desperately wanted to accompany her, to see why Akari sounded so desperate- but he knew his Lady would feel a lot more comfortable if her eggs were not left completely unattended this close to hatching.
“I will make sure nothing happens to them,” he promised her as she nodded, knocking his hat over his eyes before taking off quickly.
His answers came not long after, as it turned out Akari asked Lady Sneasler to bring her straight to him for comfort. Volo had betrayed her, had turned on her as soon as she’d had the 17 plates he didn’t have and likely would have killed her if she hadn’t managed to scrape a win. His blood boiled with anger, but there was nothing to be done now. Volo had disappeared after his loss, and left her with the last plate she’d needed.
He hugged her close as she sobbed into his shoulder.
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
Akari was missing.
He had spent the last week or so frantically scouring every corner of Hisui for his niece, alongside what felt like the entirety of the Galaxy Team (and Irida and Adaman).
The last time he’d seen her, she had told him she’d almost completed the Pokedex, had only one more Pokemon left to catch. Arceus. Creator of all. She had been heading to fight it, had stopped to ask him a question.
“Do you… want to go home?”
He hadn’t given her a definitive answer and had spent the rest of the day pondering it (getting no closer to making a decision) before growing worried over the fact that he hadn’t seen her by the time night fell. He’d went back to Jubilife to see if she’d gone home, and Laventon thought she was with him.
She hadn’t been seen since.
He was beyond worried, had barely ate or slept as he helped search for her, only taking breaks to stop and refuel and recharge when his Lady physically forced him to. He could tell she was worried as well, but didn’t let that stop her from making him take care of himself.
It reminded him of someone. He wasn’t sure who, but more flashes of electricity and also soft yellow fabric danced through his mind.
Right now was one such occasion, as she’d forced him into her basket and brought him back to his tent to eat before he collapsed on her.
He was nibbling on an oran berry when he heard it.
The familiar pattering of running feet, but that wasn’t quite all, there were… multiple sets?
All he knew is one belonged to his niece, and he leapt up and threw the door to his tent open as Akari launched himself into his arms.
“Uncle!” she cried happily, throwing her arms around his neck.
“Akari! I was so worried!” he exclaimed, relief exploding through him.
“I’m so sorry I disappeared, Arceus accidentally sent me back home before I was ready, but you’re never gonna believe who I found and brought back to Hisui with me!”
“Who?” he asked curiously, setting her down.
“EMMET!”
…
“Emmet, why are you wearing my pants?”
Emmet looked down, coffee in hand, still waking up. “Ah! It would seem I grabbed the wrong pair.”
Ingo snorted, grabbing a tie and throwing it around his neck. “Well, you’ll want to change quickly, so we still make it in to the station on schedule.”
Emmet stood to change, then had a mischievous idea pop into his head. His smile turned sly as he leaned over and pulled Ingo’s hat off his head, putting it on his own.
“Or maybe I will go as Ingo to work today!”
Ingo looked exasperated as Emmet snickered. “We are not swapping places again today.”
“Aw, but why not?” Emmet made his way over to the coatrack, grabbing Ingo’s coat and throwing it over his shoulders with a dramatic flair.
“We have never been able to pull off a successful swap ever in our lives,” Ingo pointed out, walking over to snatch his hat back. “Mostly because someone can’t be loud enough to save his life.”
“Says you who can’t be quiet enough to throw suspicion!” Emmet countered, pulling Ingo’s shoes on. He threw his arms up in a mirror of his own normal pose, raising his voice as loudly as he could get it to go as he yelled,
“ALL ABOOOOARD!”
It was not nearly as loud as Ingo’s, and he even heard his voice crack. Ingo snorted, and it quickly turned into laughter. “See?! Case in point!”
Emmet pouted, but the mischievous light refused to leave his eyes. “Well, let’s see what the depot agents have to say about your theory!” He threw the door open. Ingo rolled his eyes.
“Well, don’t blame me when you get caught in less than a minute.”
Ingo headed back down the hallway as Emmet cackled and walked out of the door to make his way to work ahead of his brother, who clearly was not going to play along. He could at least have a little fun before his brother inevitably joined him there and brought his harmless ruse to light.
Unbeknownst to either of them, Emmet would never make it to the station.
…
A man, frowning, in a black coat and hat and slacks and shoes, stood in front of him, looking like he was about to completely fall apart.
“Ingo,” Emmet breathed, realization and subsequently, memories crashing over him like a tsunami.
Ingo broke, throwing himself at Emmet, who was more than happy to catch his sobbing brother in his arms. He soon found himself joining him in his cries as memory after memory of his twin brother played through his mind, memories of the subway, of their beloved partners (his first partner was Eelektross, not Chandelure, the lightning that he had recalled suddenly making much more sense), of their friends and family. The two of them collapsed to the ground in each other’s arms.
“You’re alive,” Ingo sobbed, clutching Emmet close. “I was so scared, Emmet, I thought I had lost you, that- that you’d-”
“I’m alive,” he whispered, holding Ingo just as tightly, his quiet voice making sense to him for the first time in years. “I’m here, Ingo, I’m here. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to leave.”
“I know, it’s not your fault, Dawn- er, you still know her as Akari- explained everything she could. I’m just so relieved. I missed you so, so much.”
They didn’t move for several minutes more, until they both had calmed enough to break from their hug, but they didn’t move far. Emmet held his brothers trembling arms as Ingo cupped his face, the two of them touching their foreheads together.
“So, I guess you’re Uncle Emmet now, huh?” Akari piped up. Emmet looked over at her with a smile on his face (it felt so much better, so much more like himself), and nodded.
“Though I guess you do still have an Uncle Ingo, if that’s what you want.”
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
Explaining the situation to everyone in Hisui had been an… odd experience, to say the least. Lady Sneasler at least didn’t seem to care, more interested in the new coat he wore (Ingo had brought his regular white coat for him, which Emmet felt so much more at home in) and the identical man in black who refused to leave his side. She could tell them apart with ease, which didn’t surprise him much. For his team, it was much the same.
Lady Irida and the other Pearl Clan wardens had been confused, to say the least. It had required quite the explanation to fully get across to them that the man they had known as Warden Ingo for the last four years was, in fact, named Emmet, who had remembered his brother’s name before even his own. But eventually the point got across, and it especially helped having Akari there to back them up. The Galaxy Team and Diamond Clan had, at one point, just decided to stop questioning it and just go along with it.
At the very least, it had been easy to prove that Ingo wasn’t a Zoroark.
Being called Warden Emmet was odd. But in a verrrrrry good way. He definitely was struggling a bit with identity, having grown so used to accidentally pretending to be his brother for four years. But Ingo was helping him to remember what being Emmet meant, and he was most certainly happier than he’d ever been before in Hisui.
And as more and more of his memories returned to him, he quickly grew more and more homesick for the life he’d left behind when he disappeared. He had a whole team of Pokemon waiting for him, dozens of Joltik who Ingo had spent so long caring for in his absence. Elesa, Uncle Drayden, and Iris waiting to welcome him home with open arms. An entire subway full of trainers stronger than he could ever have imagined in Hisui.
He missed it so, so much.
So it was to no one’s surprise when he decided, only days after Ingo had appeared in Hisui, that it was time for him to go home. Akari- who also had not been going by her real name in Hisui, he’d discovered, and was actually named Dawn- had already had her happy reunions with everyone she’d left behind, and had only come back to Hisui to help Ingo get there and to reassure everyone there that she was okay, that she had found her own true home again.
Lady Irida had taken his resignation better than he expected, admitting she knew that it was an inevitable possibility. She saw no reason to prevent him from returning to his own space when he so clearly longed for it.
Lady Sneasler had promptly decided not to accept his resignation at all, and decided she was, instead, coming along with him, along with three kits from her most recent litter. She handed her title down to her eldest child.
Emmet vehemently refused to admit he had cried a bit when she had told him. Leaving her was going to be the hardest part of leaving Hisui, and now he didn’t have to!
After that, he’d only had a few scarce goodbyes to say, his Hisuian team also deciding to join him even after he gave them all the opportunity to stay behind with Zisu (the third hardest goodbye out of all of them).
Then, as soon as he was ready, with Ingo and Dawn by his side, Arceus sent them all back home.
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
“YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING DUMBASS!”
This was exactly the reaction he had been expecting from Elesa, Emmet realized, as she threw her arms around him, and he snorted as he returned her embrace, holding her tightly and not even trying to stop the tears that formed in his eyes. This was the reunion he was most looking forward to.
“You scared the shit out of us, you asshole,” she sobbed. “Don’t ever do that to us again.”
“I won’t. So long as I have any say in it. I promise I won’t.”
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
His Pokemon had been left in Elesa’s care while Ingo had gone to find him, he found out. Elesa, much more calm than she had been not even thirty minutes ago, handed him one Pokeball in particular with a soft smile. He cradled the ball carefully, eyes shimmering as he let his beloved partner out.
Eelektross spun on him, screeching with joy as it slammed into him, wrapping its body around him in its own version of a desperate hug. Emmet curled around the Pokemon. “I missed you, too,” he whispered.
⇅ ⇅ ⇅
“So you ended up in Ancient Sinnoh, with no memories, except Ingo’s name?” Drayden’s eyebrow rose. “Because you were wearing his coat and hat when you disappeared.”
“Yup!” Emmet popped the p. At his side was a very clingy Iris, who he had one arm around. His other hand was in Ingo’s, as it had been for most of the last week or so.
Elesa buried her head in her hands. “I cannot believe this. You two are so identical, you mistook yourself for Ingo. Despite remembering nothing about him or yourself.”
He looked at Ingo with a smirk on his face. “See? I told you I could pass as you if I really wanted to.”
“NO ONE IN HISUI KNEW EITHER OF US BEFORE YOU FELL THERE.”

cw: short, fluff, pla Ingo
pairing: Ingo/Reader
Ingo sighed as he laid his bounty in the basin of the small home. You were still out on a survey, as he had checked with your captain to be certain. His pack had made her cock a brow up, yet his explanation soothed whatever worries may have she held. Instead, he politely excused himself and headed to your home at once. There, he slipped off his shoes in the entryway and headed for the small front room, which brought him back to the present. His coat and cap were laid out while his heavy tunic was slipped off. The left him in just his undershirt and slacks.
You had clearly mentioned being sick of potato mochi as of late. He understood. Eating the same thing over and over again could grow boring, and variety truly was the spice of life. That was something he almost definitely recalled, even before meeting you. Something inside of him did not mind the soups and stews often served by the Pearl Clan, but having the same one so many days in a row had been truly maddening. Even if he understood it was due to the difficulty of agriculture in the icelands, he had needed a change. That was why a certain skill apparently came back to him so easily.
He began to wash off the foraged items he brought from his wanderings in the highlands. Irida had commented on his talents with cooking as it almost was as notable as his abilities with pokemon. A comment that he must have been a servant before he ended up here made him feel oddly flustered. That did not seem correct with his more recent memories, however.
Noodles that he had bought from Beni were placed to the side while water was set over your built-in stove to coke to a boil. A knife was taken from your set as he back to chop the ingredients. Ingredients were separated out by how they would be added to the pot. Mushrooms came first, hoping to make the broth that he deaired. A bit of seasonings for flavour that Beni had offered was dumped in, too, but he wondered if it would have the effect needed. When that seemed to have become mixed together in the boil, the noodles were added. Then, after they had become glossy and absorbed the broth, the vegetables previously gathered were also dumped in. The room smelled pleasantly. Ingo sat down and wiped his brow. Even he felt a bit hungry now.
By the time you had arrived home, the dish was ready. You gasped when you were greeted at the door by the Warden. He had leaned down to press a sweet kiss to your lips and help get you ready to relax. Sitting you down near the fire, he filled a bowl to serve you. The hot porcelain almost scorched your hands, but your stomach growled. Beginning to eat, you felt your taste buds alight with flavour. His cooking was wonderful, as it always had been. Your praise spoken to him only made him fluster and look away.
“I am happy to hear that, dearest,” Ingo spoke as you continued to eat, “Irida had said that I must have been a servant from my skills here alone.” You stopped eating mid-mouthful and blinked at him.
“I mean… Kind of? At least in the station,” you nodded, “Well, no, you were in charge there. I guess at home you were.” He had always loved to slip on an apron and surprise you with a meal back in Unova. Then, on his off days, he tended to go crazy over chores. The fact that it continued here in Hisui made you feel a lot better about this entire situation. He was still the same Ingo somewhere inside, after all.
“… I was your servant?” he tilted his head in a familiar manner.
“No, we were together. You just liked to do things constantly, so…” You sighed, “You weren't anyone's servant, no.”
His hand unexpectedly grasped yours as he grew closer. Those flustered cheeks of his haunted your mind. Lips were against your own for a moment before he pulled away.
“I don't think I would mind being your servant,” he mumbled out, “… Won't you let me serve you tonight?”
You were not about to deny such a simple request from the man.

Hey can someone help me find some more Pokémon fics?
1. This was a headcannon but the submas twins (separately) have cameras in their home so they check in on reader only to hear/see them crying so they rush home only to find reader cooking dinner and was crying over the chopped vegetables (I think it was an onion or garlic) Edit: here’s the link! https://www.tumblr.com/leggerefiore/709892340761886720/installing-cameras-in-the-home-for-security-but-it
2. Warden ingo returns home to emmet and reader only for him to forget he and reader are married. Reader is saddened by this but ingo tries to court reader anyway and I think at the end reader ends up spilling the beans that they are married Edit: here’s the link! https://www.tumblr.com/smallestapplin/687298409404792832/asks-are-open-ok-ok-ok-how-about-some-ingo
These fics were so cute and I really want to read them again, any help is appreciated!

For funzies may I present to you, the
Warden Ingo and His Brother AU
Okay, so here’s the pitch:
Ingo has been in Hisui for about 2-3 years now and has settled in okay. He’s still seen as an outsider and “unnerving”, but his skills with Pokémon and work as Lady Sneasler’s warden (she insisted) has earned him a begrudging respect among the clans. The hole in Ingo’s soul still pains him greatly, but he has learned to live with it.
And then Emmet falls into Hisui with no memory.
“But Blue!” I hear you cry. “Lots of people have already done that AU! This isn’t new at all!” But you are wrong! Most of those AUs focus on the twins being separated- a comedy of errors keeping them apart. Not THIS AU tho.
No, in this AU Ingo meets Emmet within days of him falling, (wether the Pearl Clan finds him or he he runs into him himself) and as soon as they lay eyes on each other (and this is important) they recognize each other immediately. Not by name, or even relationship, but that the other is the person they have been looking for- the most important person in the world. And then they hug and cry.
(Bonus points if the boys are a little facially blind and someone else has to point out to them that they look exactly the same)
Anyway, this is a soft AU about Ingo teaching his brother how to survive in this strange harsh world and rediscovering parts of himself that he had hidden away. (To make the fluff sweeter, this is a darker Hisui where everyone has scars and Ingo had to learn to mask) They love each other very much and work together well- easily falling back into being a two car train again. An AU about them finding happiness together in a harsh world 💙
Bonus thoughts!
- I think it would be interesting comparing how Emmet and Ingo react to having no memories. Like Ingo had to rebuild himself from the ground up while fighting loneliness and a feeling of otherness while Emmet falls with a support system already in place. As a result, Emmet cares a lot less about getting his memories back then Ingo does. He’s got his brother right here, and if his nightmares are anything to go off of, he doesn’t think he’ll like his more recent memories
- While Ingo had to learn to mask to survive, I don’t think he lets anyone give Emmet flack for his autistic traits. In exchange, Emmet helps Ingo learn to unmask in private or around friends (First time Emmet sees Ingo force a smile he’s like “??!!?! What are you doing!!??”)
Relearn you autistic stims through the power of love lol
- Ingo is also super self sacrificial in this AU. Like, he’s already covered in scars and has been through a lot of pain- but his baby brother hasn’t yet. He doesn’t want his twin getting hurt. (Emmet chews him out for babying him. Doesn’t stop Ingo from blocking his brother from Pokémon attacks though)
But yeah, thought it might be fun to share some AU stuff I have that I don’t plan to write fics for. Feel free to ask questions or add contributions to this post!

fandom(s) ; pokémon
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; emmet, ingo
outline ; “🥭 anon here! I’m so happy you’re willing to give my Submas request a shot even if it’ll take a while!! ✨ take as much time as you need, because I’m desperate to see content for these sillies and perfection takes time so I can wait~ I’d like to request sfw and nsfw general relationship headcanons for the Submas bros (separate headcanons and poly headcanons) with a male reader If possible!! 👉👈 also I appreciate that you write for male readers I think that’s great!!!!!!!!!!!”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
note ; to state the obvious, the brothers aren’t dating each other they just share an s/o
this is a chaotic relationship to be in at the best of times because of just how different the brothers are
of course they both love you and they’re fond enough of each other, but there are naturally going to be times where they clash (as all siblings do) and you’re going to get caught up in the middle of it all
they most frequently butt heads when it comes down to whose turn it is to spend time with you — as they do have a schedule — because of some random factor or another
they’re just very insistent that they both get an equal amount of your attention and affection, and any indication that you prefer one or the other will lead to an argument
but aside from that your relationship with the brothers is generally very good, with everything running smoothly and being built on a foundation of shared goals and mutual trust and love for one another
for example, the brothers help each other organise and schedule their dates with you — and they always share and compare notes on what new food/show/drink you like afterwards
it’s a well oiled machine because they both love you so deeply and want to be the best boyfriends that they can be
dates are reserved for one of them at a time and date nights involve all three of you
like you could go for a walk (run) around the nearby park with emmet and his team and grab some ice cream along the way
or you could go with ingo to a local cafe to chat about work and your hobbies/interests
but on a date night might involve you being trapped between the brothers whilst watching a film at home, or going out for an evening picnic
(you take turns choosing the activity)
if one of the brothers is ill, you’ll stick at home to take care of them whilst the other covers their shift
most people don’t really get your relationship and will ask your partners stuff along the lines of: ‘aren’t you worried that your boyfriend is cheating on you with your brother?’
they’ll usually get a very bewildered look and a slow ‘no?’ as a response but after the thousandth time of being asked, the two just stopped acknowledging the question altogether
when you’re all out together, you’ll usually have your arm linked with ingo whilst holding emmet’s hand — all of you chatting and joking and doing as couples (throuples?) do
elesa thinks that you’re all absolutely adorable and is your biggest cheerleader (and the one who helps you plan gifts to give to your partners)
she calls you all her boys and loves you all to bits (platonically, of course)
your house is absolutely filled with joltiks and no amount of begging or pleading with emmet will ever convince him to stop bringing them home
you will learn so much about pokémon battles and trains throughout this relationship that you could probably write a full dissertation and some change about either

Working on giving Self Aware Reader x Submas the ending it deserves with some after canon story epilogue chapters for fluff because MC deserves it and I'm gonna start working on a Guzma concept that I'm gonna finish this time around.
For the next submas story, I'd like to start thinking of ideas for it in general so choose from one of the options

The Temple of Sinnoh welcomes a new guest—but nobody's around to welcome her. The Warden of the Cliffs finds a lost traveler, and, as is his duty, vows to see her safely to her destination.
The only problem is, she's not actually sure what her destination is.
Looks like he's in for the long haul. That's fine. He certainly doesn't mind company.

Definitely not me in the corner going feral over the Portal PLA AU. Absolutely not. One of my favorite video games combined with a game I haven’t played but have gone absolutely feral over due to the sheer fluff and angst possibilities stemming from a single Muppet Train Man. Nope not at all. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go be feral for completely unrelated reasons.
Also, do you have any plans for which Pokemon partners are going to be featured in the AU or if the Nobles are going to have any role in it?
In regards to my PLA Portal AU
I’m so glad you like the AU concept!! Both are fantastic games and it’s been fun combining them together ^^
And I have not figured that part out yet — I do want Pokemon to be present in here, as part of the program involved using Pokemon as participants to study as well.
They would all have long since become feral by now, the ones that are still awake having reverted to any methods they could to stay alive in the dilapidated lower levels, just like how the wild pokemon are much more dangerous in PLA.
I’ve just been trying to figure out which ones would actually be involved, though — Portal is a game with very few characters with a theme of isolation, so it feels hard to keep that vibe that’s so important to Portal if I add a bunch of characters. I suppose I’m wanting to be careful with it.
I do want Akari to find one of the starter pokemon perhaps at some point. And I’ve been wondering if a gligar should get attached to Ingo.
As for the Nobles — I’ve been wondering if I should combine wardens’ personalities with machines/programs that resemble their respective noble pokemon, and these machines are encountered in different levels of the facilities. With Ingo being an actual person though unlike all the other wardens, it would give me a chance to do something unique with Sneasler — maybe she’s just an empty machine that Ingo could do something with.

cw: short drabble, fluff, pla ingo
pairing: Ingo/Reader
You relaxed in the warden's arms as you both felt the chilly air of autumn settle in the ragged cliffs of the highlands. The cool was chased away by the gentle warmth of his body. It was coming up on a year since you had arrived in Hisui. Many feelings had burned in your chest, yet Ingo had soother them to the best of his ability. Always a gentleman, it seemed. His lidded eyes watched as a few earthly coloured leaves blew in the wind. Your mind wandered about how long he had been here.
Bringing a hand to his chest, you felt the soft fabric of his tunic. The only part of him he allowed to change from his attire he had first arrived in. Your fingers began to unconsciously draw shapes on the clothing item. He hummed and brought a hand to stroke your hair. You both had been like this for a while, neither wanting to get up from the comfortable embrace of the other. Your Typhlosion laid nearby – Eerie purple flames providing more heat to you both.
Ingo gazed at the pokemon and sighed. “… For some odd reason, I feel strangely saddened when I gaze at its flames,” he spoke softly, “I feel like I'm desperately trying to recall something just outside of my possible knowledge…” You were held tighter. “… I trust them to guide you,” he continued, “Perhaps they may guide us both in the darker tunnels around these cliffs.” You hummed in reply. Ingo closed his eyes. The sun was beginning to descend into the jagged peaks and disappear for the night. It was nearly time to go inside for the night.
Still, neither of you wanted to leave the other's embrace. It was simply too nice. Your ear rested just above his heart, listening to the comforting beat for far too long. Typhlosion seemed quite content, too.
“… An image flashed into my head,” he spoke again, “… I was looking out onto a vast city with someone at my side… We both seemed to be discussing various things.” You listened wordlessly. A strange sound left him. “I need to get back to them…” You gazed up at him. Those eerie silver eyes stared back. “… Can I ask you to accompany me, dearest?”
How could you ever say no to him?

Consider: Emmet falls into Hisui and loses his memory (since that seems to be a common theme) but he knows he's looking for someone. Like in your other AU, Ingo and Emmet met after only a couple of days but they don't actually recognise eachother. Both are face blind and would recognise eachother from their coats but currently they don't have their coats, Emmet left his at his hideout to dry while Ingo finally caved and took it to be repaired after a particularly bad run in with an alpha. Both hit it off and feel the need to be with eachother (brotherly instincts and all), Ingo still teachs Emmet to survive in Hisui while Emmet teaches him to unlearn to mask and all that fluff but neither truly know who the other is until months later they finally see eachother in their coats when Emmet finally agrees to move in with Ingo. Even when neither remembers the other, they are still brothers.
(For the Warden Ingo and his Brother AU)
Oh! Fun idea Anon! Let’s run with that concept shall we?
Consider this:
Winter had just fallen over the land of Hisui and Ingo had begun bunkering down for the season.
Melli had long left to spend the season with his clan, and Ingo was supposed to do the same- but he couldn’t bring himself too. He loved and appreciated his clan, he really did, but he couldn’t handle the displeasure and judgment from his clan mates for an entire winter. He had already spent his first winter in Hisui with them and he had no plans to repeat that experience. (Winter was so much worse then the other seasons too, as his clansmen had nothing better to do then gossip at his behavior and way of speaking- to judge him for the skills he could not master despite them being easy for children to do. There was nowhere to run, nothing to do but hunch his back and quite his voice, smile wildly despite the pain it caused)
Unfortunately, Ingo’s third winter was already off to a terrible start- as an encounter with an particularly grumpy alpha had left his coat nearly torn in two. While he was normally content to handle simple repairs on his own, something of this magnitude required a much more… skilled hand. And while he would normally turn to Melli for something like this… well, he doubted Melli would appreciate him making the long and perilous winter journey for such an non essential reason.
So, with heavy heart, Ingo stored his coat away somewhere safe, where it would stay until the snow melted and Melli returned to the highlands.
Meanwhile, Emmet had no muking idea where he was.
Actually, he had a lot more questions then that, but his location was a lot more pressing then existential questions of “Who am I?” “Where did I come from?” and “Something is missing, what is it?”
It didn’t help that the Pokémon were weirdly aggressive there- something that just felt wrong honestly. So aggressive in fact, that his previously pristine white coat had gotten ripped, dirtied, and stained in the short time he had been there. And it he doubted it would get better. So, with a heavy heart, Emmet found a safe nook to keep his coat and hat in- before promptly running into an enraged Pokémon that drove him off a cliff.
Thankfully, he was mostly alright, but his leg was almost certainly broken, and he doubted he would be able to move it anytime soon. Which, in a place like this, meant that a painful death was all but guaranteed.
Of course, this isn’t a tragic tale- and Lady Sneasler managed to find him before something horrific happened, bringing the poor injured man to her warden.
And well-
They both can’t deny how familiar the other feels, how they must have known each other before. Ingo’s mannerisms feel like home to Emmet, and Ingo could swear that Emmet’s voice is the one he hears in his dreams. Yet both of them are far too uncertain to mention it to the other, so it remains something unspoken between them. But what is spoken?
Oh Sinnoh, Ingo has never met someone as wonderful as Emmet- someone as easy to talk to and fun to be with, who understands him with ease and desires his company as much as Ingo desires his. And Emmet? Well Emmet still has no idea what he was missing before he came here, but with Ingo he isn’t sure it even really matters. Ingo is home, and that’s all that really matters to Emmet.
When Emmet’s leg heals enough for him to walk around alright, he directs the group to where he hid his coat. Ingo is surprised when he sees it of course, and excitedly shows him his own. Neither of them really think too hard about it though, figuring that it’s just the uniform of their shared passion- whatever the heck a train is.
It was only when winter finally ended and Melli moved back into the highlands that they finally figure it out- and only because Melli was freaking out about their eerily identical faces.
(Of course, by that point such things mattered little to them. As far as they were concerned they were already family- becoming twins was just a bonus)
